STRANGER THINGS: THE FIRST SHADOW SPOILERS - PATTY NEWBY
here is a compilation of all things I can recall from the play involving Patty Newby
also to note: some things I am still a little confused about and will need to verify when I see it again soon. I will update as I remember things!
Adopted daughter or Mr and Mrs Newby
Doesn't know who her mother was or where she is - feels like an outcast in Hawkins - this is what she eventually bonds with Henry about
Bob a loving brother to her but tease just as any siblings would
Mr Newby, the principal of the high school and a leading figure of the Church/local community, has clear bias against her - stricter on rules and regulations for her than Bob and other students
Revealed that Mrs Newby ran off with TED WHEELER'S FATHER - reason for Mr Newby's bitterness (no excuse, sir. leave her alone)
Mr Newby thought adopting a girl/another child into the family would strengthen the relationship with his wife, as they were clearly struggling and growing apart - he failed. lol.
Patty is a fan of comic books - she is seen multiple times praying to Wonder Woman (she's a real cutie guys, you'll love her)
Patty and Henry bond over their outcasting from others and enjoyment of comics, particularly the Captain Midnight series, on his first day at the high school
Patty has a talent for singing, something she believes could be from her mother, and her dream is to do it professionally someday
Patty auditions for the lead in Joyce's directed play, Henry steps up to read in for the part opposite her - they are then told they will need to kiss in the scene which is interrupted but it is clear they like each other from this
There is a brief scene where Walter Henderson makes a racially charged jab at her not belonging, to which Charles Sinclair stands and glares to get him to back down
Patty follows after Henry when he is distressed, assuring him she is there and cares
He reveals about his powers to her though does not admit all about hurting the boy at his last school in Nevada or killing the local pets recently - he shows Patty his ability to alter dreams and make them feel real (I saw this as his understanding of his powers, he thinks it is about controlling dreams and doe snot realise they are actually affecting reality until he learns the cat he killed in his dream was actually killed in reality and he is responsible for it)
In Patty's dream that Henry helps her to see, she is the lead singer and others form the town are her backup singers/dancer - yeah, guys, there's a whole musical number with pink sparkles and feathers and all
She then asks Henry to use his powers to find her mother - he finds her in Vegas as a singer - unfortunately, things go wrong and he can't control the evil
Mr Newby has been told by Victor that Patty is with Henry at the house and he storms over, Henry then trapping him with his powers, breaking his legs and blinding his eyes - he only breaks out before killing him completely when Patty shouts out that she loves him
In hospital, Mr Newby confesses his reasoning for her adoption to her and, of course, she is rightfully upset
Henry has been missing since the incident (with Brenner) - she sees him again during the play where Henry confronts Brenner, who tells her Henry is violent and responsible for everything - despite feeling betrayed Henry was untruthful to her, she tries to defend him against Brenner
However, Henry's powers are untamed and he lashes out with anger - Patty falls from the rafters of the school theatre stage and is presumed dead
Henry is taken by Brenner and told that she has died
It is not revealed to him until the end of the show when Henry (tied in a straight jacket and wheelchair) is in the in-between world (with the water, like in the series) and sees her alive with a walking stick - she has travelled to Vegas to be reunited with her mother
This means she is still out there and could make an appearance in ST5 - perhaps, the gang find her to appeal to Henry's more human, compassionate side - defeat evil with the power of love and friendship and all that

Where is Barney in your head canon? How well or how little does he know about adult Clint?
My headcanon backstory for the Barton brothers isn’t exactly canon so it’s different but still has a lot of the same beats just jumbled around a bit.
Basically I wanted to keep the major elements ie Circus, abusive childhood, and tumultuous sibling relationship and play around with others. So the basic rundown is this:
Barney is older by about four years, the pair were orphaned when Barney was four to Carson and his traveling circus and remained with them until the cops busted Carson’s money laundering business when Clint was nine in what they refer to as “The Big Bust.” After that they were placed in foster care and adopted by a widowed man that hit the bottle hard and the boys harder. Barney unable to stand the abuse quickly turned to numbing himself with illicit substances and a life of petty crime. The hairline fracture in their relationship happened when Barney fell asleep at the wheel and Clint had to guide the car into a ditch. First full on fracture happened when Barney woke a thirteen year old Clint up in the middle of the night with a backpack slung over his shoulders and six hundred dollars buried at the junkyard down the road.
Barney didn’t want to abandon his brother but a criminal venture/position opened up in Hell’s Kitchen. (What Clint later figures out, the real reason though is like soooooo much worse). With Barney out of the picture the abuse at home got so bad Clint ran off to the military at sixteen (his recruiter fudged the birthdate when he saw the bruises). Clint fucks around in the military and then gets recruited for SHIELD because he’s just that fucking good.
In Hell’s Kitchen Barney rises in the ranks, and eventually meets Laura who he later marries in a Las Vegas wedding drive thru. He also meets [REDACTED] and in turn catches Phil’s/SHIELD eyes and they send Clint.
Finally the pair meet after nearly a decade of not speaking or seeing each other and it’s not under happy circumstances.
Due to his influence with [REDACTED] and [REDACTED]’s criminal empire Clint’s forced to choose between old family and his new place with SHIELD. Ultimately Clint chooses SHIELD.
Barney would understand, at least that is what Clint tells himself when he’s too racked with guilt to sleep.
Now I can’t reveal much after this point as what I’ve planned would contain spoilers for future installments in the Sightline Universe (?)
Tumblr media
But I will leave you with this line…
“Hey Clint.”
As for how little or how much Barney knows about Clint’s adulthood after the military, I would say he only knew the bare basics. He really only knew that last he heard his baby brother was making a man out of himself by joining the military. He didn’t know Clint had joined Shield until they reunited. He figured Clint was on the right path, no sense in his useless druggie brother fucking that up when he was the one to abandon him.
Eventually (possibly in the future, wink wink) they reunite again, maybe they are able to salvage some of their relationship over a couple beers and a trade of fists. Maybe Barney joins one of the alphabet agencies, and maybe they have to revisit that fateful night so long ago and reveal the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
Who knows! The world is a crazy place and fate is fickle.
(Oh! And totally fancasting Daniel Craig as Barney Barton, credit to whoever came up with that first because it’s brilliant)

Question
Did anyone grab Elias's body before they escaped
See now this is a toughie to answer! I like questions like this. I get to whammy you with all the shit I know about Ghosts so it's very fun for me.
Simple answer: Yes.
Read more because I info dump here
First point: You can see how they treated Ajax in the game, tearing through an entire stadium of Federation troops to reach him. And he was alive for that, but even after he died Hesh was picking up they (Merrick+Keegan) really treated his body with a reverence. Given Elias was the captain, on top of Logan+Hesh's literal father, I'd bet a sizable chunk of money that they would go to the same extreme for him.
More evidence aside from that is the cutscene/loading screen between Sin City and All or Nothing, where Hesh narrates the Ghosts burial rites. Now while the cutscenes are always very visually dramatic, they do in fact have their real world junk. Like the very first cutscene for the game where Elias is telling the boys about Operation Sand Viper; Rorke is in that, and so is Elias. It's not just Logan's imagination or whatever, it's a glimpse at the real event.
So, ergo, cutscene where Hesh narrates the burial rites and we're shown what they look like (+ dramatic visual shit), that's real. And we can very easily assume the person they're burying is Elias, because honestly who else would it be?
We don't have any concrete ideas/evidence for how they got his body out of the Luxor, just that they did. And my head canon for it, because there is no canon, is that the Federation forces retreated from the Luxor as the US forces went in, and someone somewhere found him and had the body retrieved for the Ghosts.
I also have a HC for where he was buried: The last four missions all take place on or off the coast of Chile. To get there, with the US pacific fleet, they had to have passed by San Diego which is southwest of Vegas and on the coast. I don't think it's a stretch to say they would have made time to stop off there and bury him close to home.
(Not very fun) Fun fact: Elias's body was moved some point between his death and the Ghosts reaching the ground floor. How do I know this? You actually pass through the room where the Walkers were held by Rorke before jumping down the side of the pyramid. (After being reunited with Keegan.) And I know it's the same room due to furniture/decor placement as well as the big ass blood smear on the floor. From Elias. Where his body is at that point, I dunno, but I know it was moved.

He especially didn’t expect to meet Steve at the dog park. He didn’t expect they’d become friends. He really didn’t expect that they’d be dating. Unfortunately nobody’s clued Bucky in to that last part.
-----
He feels frozen in panic. It’s their second day together and he’s lost her. He’s lost his dog.
He’s spiralling until suddenly there’s a little yip noise and Bucky snaps his head up to see his dog in front of him, in the arms of someone else.
“Ohmygod,” he hisses out in pure relief, breathing hard. He doesn’t think he’s ever been so relieved in all his life.
“Is this your dog?” the owner of the arms asks.

But how much of it is really pretend?
Rock Me Gently (ao3) - enigma731, invisibledaemon gamora/peter M, 479k
Summary: “She is our–She is Gamora,” Nebula says. “There is only one Gamora and I know her better than any of you do.” She pauses and glares at Peter, clearly challenging him to protest that. For once, he doesn’t dare. “This Gamora has jumped forward in time nine years, but she is the same person at her core. Just as you are the same despite not having experienced the last five years I did. We are all just–out of sync at the moment.”
Show Me What I'm Looking For (ao3) - JamieB93 mj/peter, pepper/tony M, 381k
Summary: Peter Parker has spent the last year struggling to believe he has finally found a place he belongs. He has come a long way and whilst there is still a way to go, Peter begins to blossom and open himself up to the world. Which brings with it all the usual teenage dramas.
A touch damaged and more than a little rough around the edges, Peter is very often his own worst enemy. Still plagued by the scars of a traumatic past and newer challenges - it seems Peter's happy ending might not be so easily in reach.
Such Sweet Revenge (ao3) - ali_aliska bucky/tony M, 167k
Summary: When the Rogues are back in the States after being pardoned, the New Avengers want nothing to do with them and as far as Tony is concerned, if he never speaks to them again, it'll be too soon. After all, he didn't spend the last year putting himself (and his family) back together only for his former co-workers to ruin all of his hard work.
But then he gets a hand-written letter from the Winter Soldier himself, apologizing for the events that transpired and an off-handed comment from Rhodey about Rogers failing to take care of an obviously miserable Bucky Barnes sets in motion Tony's new, oh-so-evil plan to get some payback.
After all, what better revenge than to steal the Winter Soldier away from his best friend?
The only problem: Tony sucks at being vengeful, but apparently he's an expert at inadvertently falling in love.

The road to retirement
I started as a paperboy. Sometime in 1974, at the ripe old age of 12, I began delivering the Seattle Times in a suburban subdivision that could have doubled as a set on The Brady Bunch. For three years, I overcame deadlines, dogs, and sometimes dreadful weather to get folded papers onto dry porches. I officially entered the workforce.
Since that time, I have held no fewer than thirty jobs. In high school and college, I washed dishes, bagged groceries, flipped French fries, sold appliances, shelved books, delivered office supplies, counted people for a census, mentored boys at a summer camp, wrote articles, and answered phone calls for a congressman.
In one summer job, at a vegetable packing plant, I stood inside a small refrigerated chamber and broke up clumps of frozen peas on a moving conveyer belt. With a long rake. For eight hours a day.
All of the grunt jobs prepared me well for the "real" world, where I made my mark as a sportswriter, an editor, a librarian, and finally as an author. Each experience taught me patience, humility, discipline, responsibility, and many other things I applied in life.
Though most of these jobs are decades in the past, I remembered all of them today as I punched a time card for the last time and officially retired. Leaving my position as a computer lab assistant at a Las Vegas library brought fifty years of labor into focus.
When people work a wide variety of jobs, they learn a lot about themselves. When they work with a wide variety of people, they learn a lot about society. They learn things that give them perspective and a better understanding of the world around them.
I know I did. I not only learned things but also put them to use. In several novels, I borrowed from work experiences, particularly those as a grocery clerk, a newspaper reporter, and a librarian. In Camp Lake I did even more. I constructed an entire story around my memorable tenure at a summer camp in Maine in 1983. I expect to incorporate even more work experiences in future books.
In the meantime, I will look back. I will remember the unexpected rewards and the special times from five decades of working for "the man" and for myself. I will recall the moments that mattered.
Perhaps the biggest came in 1994, when I walked into a newsroom to a standing ovation. My peers, fellow editors and reporters at a daily newspaper in Washington, had just learned of my award in a regional journalism competition and let me know it. They took a moment from their busy schedules to acknowledge a job well done.
I will also remember the thank-yous, which always seemed to come at the right times. In 1983, a New York woman, the mother of an introverted boy, thanked me for teaching her son to ride a bike at camp. Eight years later, a girls basketball team sent me a card after I covered their heartbreaking run through a state tournament. In 2006, a Montana man thanked me for helping him reunite with a German woman he had met in the Army fifty years earlier. I was a reference librarian then, a person who loved to solve problems.
Now, I am a retiree, a soon-to-be Social Security recipient who can shop for senior discounts, take afternoon naps, and tell teenagers to get off my lawn. (Just kidding. I don't have a lawn.)
I don't plan to remain idle. I value time like most people value food and plan to put that time to good use. Sometime in January, after returning from a vacation in Puerto Rico, I will lay the groundwork for my next book, my next series, and my next course in life.
That's what I look forward to most. Retirement, for me, will not be an opportunity to rest. It will be a chance to do more. Much more.

Last week almost doesn't feel real.
It was during the first Hell on Earth that VIOLET turned her back on ANarChY for a shot at the belt Riley held at the time. A belt she just finished defending from Abigail. Nearly two years later, Matsumoto turned their back on The Fallen to protect VIOLET from their wrath. Nearly two years after their last night teaming together, VIOLET and Matsumoto reunite for a chance at a chance - if they win, VIOLET gets her World title shot in Las Vegas. But they've only been back together for a week after being enemies for so long; can they coexist? Or is this another ruse crafted by The Fallen? If ANarChY wins tonight, will Riley follow Matsumoto's lead, or is Abigail's grip too tight on her beloved protege?
Violet and Riley kick this one off for their respective sides. These two are no strangers to standing across the ring from each other, and quickly find a lock up, reaching a quick stalemate as neither one takes control. Despite being taller, Violet can't overpower her smaller opponent, and they struggle in the corner, before Riley breaks with a dirty shove! Violet's eyes flash, and she shoves Riley back, but tries to keep her temper under control. Violet's interest in The Fallen is more than just material, and she's got a long road ahead of her if she ever wants to get out of the dog house. Nonetheless, the match stays in line, Riley hitting a leg pick to bring them to the mat, then snagging in a side headlock. Violet reverses into a quick pin attempt, but pushes her through into a side headlock before a count is registered. Jake Clemons, our referee tonight, scurrying back to his feet as the two roll around the ring, Violet trapped in a headscissor. She kips up, and shoots Riley to the ropes, before taking her head off with a spinning leg lariat! Riley eats every bit of that, and falls to the floor!
Abigail hops down from the apron and puts an arm around Riley's shoulders, pulling her close as Abigail whispers in her ear. Riley's eyes closed as he listened to whatever bullshit - or in her eyes, gospel - Abigail's feeding her. With a quick kiss on the head, Riley is sent back into the ring. She goes right for Violet, but Violet drops her with a drop toehold, before grabbing Riley by the back of the head and tagging in Matsumoto. One of the biggest people on the roster, it's almost embarrassing to watch them tower over Riley, but Riley isn't intimidated, trying to lock up with them, but Matsumoto easily gets a side headlock. Riley attempts to struggle, but Matsumoto simply lifts her off her feet, and tosses Riley, almost like a Black Hole Slam, but by the head! Riley's getting tossed around like a rag doll, but Matsumoto isn't done there, lifting Riley up for a side headlock takeover, but Riley rolls through and jumps on their back, trying to lock in a Sleeper, but Matsumoto is too powerful and throws her right off. Riley scrambles, but Matsumoto drops down, and then leapfrogs right over her! They grab the back of Riley's tights, pull her in, and crush Riley with a standing switch gutbuster! It's gonna hurt to breathe after that one!
With another side headlock takeover, Riley's getting crushed even more. Violet is practically beaming with pride as her side has taken full control of this matchup, and Abigail is leaning against the turnbuckles, biding her time, as Riley starts to turn things around with a headscissor. Matsumoto pops up almost instantly, hitting an arm drag, and locking in an armbar. They keep it locked in as they drag Riley back to the corner, tagging in Violet, who comes out between the ropes with a slingshot dropkick, nearly knocking Riley across the ring! She goes for an arm wringer, but Riley pops her with a forearm, sending her stumbling into the Fallen's corner, and Abigail takes that as her cue to get involved, entering the ring sans tag, but Violet's ready. She goes back and forth with forearms and chops, keeping Abigail and Riley at bay. She ducks a clothesline from Riley, and lands a basement dropkick to Abigail's knee, before running the ropes. She jumps up, grabs both of them by the head, and plants them with double front flip DDTs! Violet pulls Riley to her feet, and jumps on her back, throwing her head back and yelling before she hits this sunset flip powerbomb - but Abigail pulls her OFF Riley's back, and plants her with a huge Uranage!
ANarChY goes from being on top to a thirty second fall to very murky waters, as Violet's struggling to catch her breath, and Riley crushes her with a penalty kick, and follows up with a double stomp right on the chest. Abigail comes off the ropes, and nails a sliding knee strike to the side of the head. Riley runs at Abigail, and Abigail catapults her high into the air, and Riley comes crashing down onto VIOLET with a 450 Splash! Riley folds her up!
1… 2… Kickout!
The first fall of the match gets a two count, and Violet is desperate for some separation here. Riley drags her closer to the corner, going for the tag - but Violet dumps her to the outside instead! She somersaults and jumps, diving for the tag, but Abigail gets there first, running around Violet to knock Matsumoto off the apron with a big boot! Violet jumps to her feet and springboards, spiking Abigail with a springboard Poison Rana! Abigail's dumped on her head, and Matsumoto's tagged in!
Matsumoto bursts through the ropes, and leaves a hole in Abigail's chest with a huge spinning two handed chop, leveling the World champion! Riley springboards into the ring, but Matsumoto catches her! They throw Riley up, and raise her up into a military press, before falling onto their back, and dropping Riley into a VICIOUS gutbuster! Matsumoto won't be satisfied until Riley's internal organs are all smashed up, and Abigail may be next, as she gets planted by a Tiger Suplex! Matsumoto jumps to their feet and lets out a deep, guttural roar, before clothesline their former master to the floor! The last one left standing is The Machine, and that means Riley's in for a very, very bad time, as Matsumoto has her laid up in the corner, smashing her face in with alternating forearms. They go for a whip, but Riley turns it around, getting a victory roll jackknife!
1… - Kickout!
Matsumoto kicks Riley halfway across the ring, but Riley comes back with a sliding leg sweep, taking Matsumoto to their knees. Riley jumps on their back, trying to hit a sunset flip powerbomb, but Matsumoto holds on! They reverse Riley's momentum, bringing her up onto their shoulder, and spiking her with an inverted Samoan Driver! Right on the top of Riley's head, and this could be it!
1… 2… Kickout!
Riley can barely get all that weight off of her, the effects of all these brutal slams having a great toll on her thus far, and it's only going to get worse as Matsumoto puts her up on the top turnbuckle. Abigail pulls her down, saving her partner, but Violet makes her pay with a slap right across the face! They brawl on the apron, trading forearms, before Violet lands a Suoekrick, spinning Abigail around. She gets wrist control, and plants Abigail with a ripcord Spanish Fly on the apron! Inside the ring, Matsumoto throws Riley into Anarchy's territory, and Violet's made the legal competitor, nailing Riley with a running uppercut. She jumps back to the apron as Matsumoto follows her with a body press, throwing Riley to the mat, so Violet can jump from the top rope, twist mid-air, and land a split-legged Corkscrew Moonsault! She rolls out of the way, and Matsumoto slingshots over the ropes, crusbing Riley with an elbow drop! Violet hooks her in for the cover!
1… 2… - Kickout!
That was a close, close call there, and Violet looks to mount some more offense, but on the outside of the ring, Abigail has sprinted around the ring, and takes Matsumoto down with a big boot! She jumps to the apron, and springboards off the ropes, wanting an Asai Moonsault, but Matsumoto catches her, countering the Moonsault into a Brainbuster on the floor! Abigail tried to be sneaky, and it backfired BIG time!
Riley springboards off the top rope, wiping Matsumoto out with a Corkscrew Plancha. Worried over her controller, but she doesn't get a chance to check on her, as Violet wipes her out with a suicide dive! Violet quickly tosses her back inside the squared circle, and spikes Riley with a Package Piledriver! This could be it, shoulders down!
1… 2… Kickout!
With Matsumoto back in on the action, they lift Riley up, Violet hitting the ropes, wanting to finish this with the Boot of Doom - but neither of them notices Abigail shouting at Jake Clemons, forcing him to turn his back, and Riley spills off Matsumoto's shoulders, and sorays the black mist into Violet's eyes! Abigail pushes past Clemons to charge at Matsumoto, knocking them out of the ring with Psychosis! Abigail picks Violet up, Riley runs the ropes - and they hit their own Boot of Doom! They're stuffing Violet's hopes and dreams down the drain with their own finishing move, how pitiful. Riley folds her up to end this here..
1…
2…
KICKOUT!
Not enough! Riley's eyes widen, looking directly at Abigail, and Abigail directs traffic. She lifts Violet up as Riley jumps to the top rope. Abigail pulls Violet up, hoists her up by the tights, as Riley jumps off the top rope, delivering a discus clothesline, assisting Abigail in delivering the Last Hour! Shoulders down again!
1… 2… KICKOUT!
Violet will not stay down, and Abigail's getting pissed off!
In a bout of frustration - or, perhaps, a part of her ploy - Abigail grabs the MPW World Championship, but it's not to taunt. She wants to hit Violet with it, rather blatantly. A mistake that could cost her the match, but Matsumoto's going to stop her from even getting that close, trying to rip it out of Abigail's hands - and Violet comes from behind and rolls her up!
1… 2… - KICKOUT!
Abigail BARELY escapes that one, and Clemons is trying to get Matsumoto out of the ring - but Abigail still has her belt! Behind the ref's back, she CLOCKS Violet with it! She folds Violet up, and yells at Clemons to make the count, as Riley holds onto Matsumoto's leg! Not like this!
1… 2… BROKEN UP!
Matsumoto dives into the ring at the last second and breaks up the pin, keeping this match, and Violet's chance at a title shot, alive for now. But they aren't left standing for much longer, as Abigail knocks them out of the ring.
Tagging Riley in, they nail Violet with a pair of rolling elbows, dropping her to her knees, where each woman grabs a wrist. Violet already looks dazed as they rear back, nailing her with in-stereo Psychosis knee strikes! Violet's head gets CRUSHED and she's out cold! Riley folds her up!
1…
2…
3!
That's three, but Jake Clemons is calling it off! Violet's foot is on the ropes! Abigail starts to celebrate, but Clemons explains the situation, and she's PISSED! She thought it was finally over, but Violet just doesn't know when to quit.
Amidst their frustration, neither of them see Matsumoto slide into the ring, before they're pouncing Abigail right out of the ring, just like last week! Riley tries to charge them, but Matsumoto grabs her by the throat, lifting her up for another military press, but instead turns it into a Spinebuster! They drag Violet to their corner, force the tag, and Riley can't even stand. She tries to pull herself up, but Matsumoto pulls her to her feet, and plants her with the Skull Fuck! That's it, time to wrap it up! Matsumoto turns her over to win this for their friend!
1… 2…
Abigail pulls the ref out of the ring, and sends Clemons into the barricade! Fines be damned, she isn't losing this match. Not now, not ever.
With a steel chair in hand, Abigail whacks it over the top of Matsumoto's head, dropping them to their knees, where Abigail continues to crack the chair over their body, over and over again, until Matsumoto's limp and defenseless. Violet's still too hurt. The referee is down. There's nobody to help Matsumoto now, and Abigail doesn't just want to win the match. She wants to end Matsumoto's career for what they did last week.
Passing her chair to a very dazed Riley, Abigail grabs another chair. This one is wrapped around Matsumoto's head… oh dear, oh god. This is a message, loud and clear, for everyone to hear, including those in The Fallen, that Abigail is not to be crossed. She'd even say that she's been lenient, and now it's time to put her foot down, and remind everyone why she is the Devil, and one of the most fearsome wrestlers in this business, in this world, by ending the young career of the person who stabbed her in the back.
But as she waits for the killing blow, it never comes.
Riley stares down at the chair in her hands, frozen solid. Unable to look at Matsumoto, unable to look at Abigail. Abigail doesn't see the hesitation at first, but after it goes on for too long, she slowly turns around, her eye twitching as she sees Riley just standing there. "What do you think you're doing?" Abigail gets in Riley's space, but Riley still doesn't move, still doesn't look up, "I gave you an order. We're in the middle of a war. We don't have time for your games, Riley. Do you understand?" No response. "I said, Do you understand." Abigail's hand grabs Riley's jaw in an aggressive manner, forcing Riley's head up, "Look me in the eyes when I'm talking to you." And with that, Abigail slaps the hell out of Riley -
But as Riley whips to the side, Violet naild Abigail with the END OF EVERYTHING! Abigail's down! Matsumoto has ripped the chair off their head, and throws it, connecting with the top of Riley's dome! The chairs are out of the ring, Abigail's down, and Jake Clemons has crawled into the ring!
Matsumoto picks Riley up, Violet hits the ropes… BOOT OF DOOM! They fold Riley up! Holy shit, they've done it!
1… 2… 3!!!
"Here are your winners, ANARCHY!"
Despite everything thrown at them, ANarChY score a giant win in their first match back, and now, Violet will challenge for the MPW World Championship in the main event of MPW's Life Goes On in Las Vegas. As Violet and Matsumoto embrace in the ring, we bid you all a good night.

A two-part post prompted by the last video.
Part one: what are you doing to me, Joanne?!
Let's establish something real quick: I am not simping for Blake. The guy has literally just walked out of a torture cellar - he has (of I recall quite literally as well) blood on his hands. I don't know what do you have to do to make me sympathize with such a person. (I do know, but it's so specific, that Mr Redacted isn't pulling that one on me any time soon.)
My first thought of course was: so, the simple way of getting them into your cult didn't quite work out so you decided to go the long route? Well, newsflash Machiavelli, it's not working either. "I want to be closer to you." And I want you as far from me as possible and preferably behind bars.
And while this can be very true and he can very well only want the listener for their unknown powers. And while the sentiment stays anyway. That might also not be the case. He might actually just want to be their friend (or something more) and help them (how he sees it) be it with their sleep or their life. (Yes, I also like the idea that he was the one causing them sleeping problems.) The fact that he had just "interrogated" a defenceless unempowered person doesn't mean he's incapable of human emotions and impulses and vice versa - genuinely wanting to reunite with your college friend doesn't make him any less of a bigoted douchebag.
That's what I meant by "demonizing the bigot makes you stop recognizing bigotry in yourself and your close ones" - because a bigot is not necessarily someone who wants to destroy love and friendship. It's someone thinking (afraid even if you will) that their love and friendship are in danger because of d(a)emons, or humanborns (or queer people, or people of colour, or jews etc.)
Part two: I̵̢̙̙̔̔ s̴͙͍̓͌͜͝e̴͓͖͔̓͝e̵͓̞̠͐̚͝ y̸͚͚̙̓͘o̸̞̙̘͐͐͠u̴̪͋͒͜ t̴̢͍̙̐̔̚o̸͔͓͊͊̕o̵̼͕͙̽͝.
We all know I'm a pessimistic paranoic that's just a fact so take this with a grain of salt. After that "slap on the face" video and the recent promise of comebacks for some stories which were put on the back burner for a while made me think...
Did our beloved content creator get tired of writing sweet sappy things (and of us asking for it)? Maybe it was a hard year, I don't know, but the content is getting darker and the pauses between dark content are becoming shorter and shorter.
In the beginning, everything was more or less fine - sure Brachium is in the first dozen of videos and Adam happened but these were single videos (or one and three-fourths videos) and around them was what? Yeah, David and Caelum and early-on Ivan (which is not exactly my cup of tea, but that's not the point). Then on Halloween, we dipped our toes into some truly darker things - Echo, Vega happened, Invisiboi (hi, baby), but what did we get on Halloween itself? Asher and David!
Then The Deal happened and as much as I love complaining about how several miles of rope was made from the nerves pulled from me before The Cost, it wasn't actually that stressful and it ended amazingly. Of course, we had an incredibly daunting Vincent video just before Valentine's day, but it was in between two very very sweet audios. And after that, we had an absolutely wonderful summer with all the BAs and Hot Boi Summer. It wasn't definitely all rainbows and sunshine - even during the summer we had the solstice and James appeared (which is kind of a good thing, but whatever) but there was always something else.
This is when things began to deteriorate. Imperium happened. But it wasn't real right? It was a parallel universe it couldn't harm us? Well, the end of the world still seems very real (I'm still hung up on it yes). (And also it was a whole month non-stop.) We had Afterfluff and Friendsgiving and Hot Boi Winter after that, so that must have fixed the situation. Well, not really, because after a month of hell, we had two months to breathe (more or less, I'm looking at you, the last Avior's video) and boom.
Another one. But this time it's so real - come a bit too close to the screen and you can touch it. And breaks are for losers, by the way, because after the Inversion itself we had two office boyfriends videos and that seems to be it for the foreseeable future because after the goddamn Aftershock the bone isn't even thrown to us on Valentine's day - we're getting bloody Blake. If that's not a sick joke I don't know what is.
And don't get me wrong - I'm not saying the content got worse (if anything, the quality has gone significantly up) or that the author isn't in the right to do whatever he wants with his own creation. I'm just saying that the pacing has changed a lot and I'm not sure my brain can exactly handle it.

After a life long Quarantine
(A/N): This was requested by an anon. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did writing
Summary: How will Matthew's daughter, a so called covid baby, react to seeing real humans aside from her father for the first time?
Wordcount: 1.5k
✨Masterlist✨
_______________________________
Of course there is not a perfect time to have children. You never are going to be completely prepared. There is always something you’ll worry about. Are you going to be a good parent? Is your child going to be healthy? Are you financially stable enough?
All these and more questions flew through Matthew’s head constantly. But before the baby was due to arrive, the world got a little bit more crazy. Stores had to close, masks help you not kill your neighbor and it feels like breathing air could be the reason you die within the next two weeks. In other words: Covid-19 hit and everything kind of went into saving mode.
Subjectively for Matthew having a baby in the middle of a pandemic is the worst time ever. Shortly after going into lockdown the little (Y/N) was born. He was lucky to be able to come with his back then girlfriend into the hospital, he narrowly missed the restriction.
Sadly for the small family (Y/N)’s mother didn’t feel ready to take care of her and just a few weeks after her birth she took her stuff and made a beeline for a carefree life without responsibilities.
For Matthew it was a banger and he had to get used to a completely new day to day life. Still, he is very happy to have his daughter, his sunshine, with him. And secretly he is happy about the pandemic, because the freshly baked father is able to monitor any new progress or milestone (Y/N) has made in her development. He didn’t miss her first conscious smile, laugh or her first words (“Dada” of course, she is a daddy’s girl). The only thing he is concerned about for now will be the separation anxiety when he has to leave her for Kindergarten or work. But this is something Matthew can worry about later.
To be perfectly honest the only surroundings (Y/N) has seen yet is their apartment and the park. He tries to overlap her nap time with his grocery runs, so his daughter is asleep in her stroller while he picks up the things they need. It’s the easiest and most relaxing way without being separated.
Now, nearly a year after her birth, the whole situation slowly lets up. Stores reopen, people are back in the cities and everything seems a little brighter, a little happier. Travel restrictions are banned (still with safety precautions).
Since his baby’s birth he wasn’t able to see his parents in person. Of course they skyped and facetimes as often as possible, but they have yet to meet their grandchild. That’s why Matthew decided to take a roadtrip from New York City to Las Vegas.
His plan is to drive to Texas to visit Thomas and his family and to show his own child off. He knows that the car ride (to San Antonio 27 hours plus 18 to Las Vegas) is long. Luckily Matthew has enough time to plan this road trip and the plane ride back thoroughly and count enough breaks for him and his daughter. There are many fun activities, like visiting several zoos, a waterpark and a fair for example. He wants to show (Y/N) that there are many beautiful spots in the world she has yet to see.
That’s why he gets up at 4 a.m on a Tuesday, gets her and himself ready and is in the rental car at sharp 5 a.m. He wants to get a few miles done before eating lunch in a diner or something on the way, so the father tries to avoid traffic jams, hence the early start.
Luckily (Y/N) falls back asleep as soon as the car starts and doesn’t wake up before noon. “Daddy, I hungwy”, she pouts after jamming with him to several Disney songs he downloaded on a CD. A quick look to the clock confirms that it is in fact time for lunch. “Alright Baby, let Daddy find a nice place and we get food. What do you want?” “NUGGIES!” Matthew laughs and mutters to himself: “Well, that’s not exactly a surprise.”
Soon he finds a sweet diner off the highway and parks in front of it. With a few practised movements he gets (Y/N) out of her car seat and hoisted up on his hip. “You ready to get the little monster inside your tummy fed?” Matthew asks in a silly voice. Giggling she nods her head.
For lunch time the diner is relatively empty, not many tables are occupied. He finds both of them a small booth and sits her down on his lap for the moment. Only now the father spots the amazed look on his daughter’s face. “What is it, Honey?” “Who they?” She points at the various people in the establishment.
Quickly he puts her finger down, muttering how rude it is to point at someone. “They are humans, Baby.” “Omans? Wike us? More us?” Suddenly it hits him:
(Y/N) has never seen anybody else than him. All the other people she met were over the phone. How is she supposed to understand that they are real, too, when the ones on the TV aren’t?
“Yeah, there are many more. We are going to see so many of them. What do you think?” She seems to weigh her options as a nice looking waitress comes up to their table. “Hey Sweeties, what good can I do for you two? Do you need a high chair?” Matthew smiles at her. “Yes, please. We also are ready to order.”
After her departure to get their things, (Y/N) has come to a decision. “Nice all?” Her father nods. “Yes, most of them are as nice as the lady. We are going to see a really good friend of mine and his family, they are even nicer. There are also other kids. And we are going to visit your grandparents, they are also really nice. Are you excited?” An energetic nod is enough for him to know that this was the right decision.
On the next leg of the road trip (Y/N) is too excited to be quiet. She asks her father all sorts of questions. Has he met every human being? What are those, who aren’t nice? Does he like all of them? Are he and she nice people?
Happily he answers every single one of them, being as honest as possible. Matthew hopes that his daughter still turns out to be a people person like he is, even though she wasn’t exposed to many in her first months of life.
The first few days of their trip is pretty promising. They are now at Thomas’ house and especially Agatha is smitten by the little girl. Whenever Matthew is looking for her, both of them are in her room painting each other's nails (though the older one helps her out), playing hairdresser or watching a kids show.
The last 18 hours of the trip are tackled in two days. The main reason is that the little one got hooked on meeting new people and is way too hyped up to wait any longer to see her grandparents. So Matthew cancels a few plans and makes two out of three, he himself is also excited to meet up with his parents again.
“How wong?” (Y/N) asks from the backseat for what feels like the trillionth time. She already watched all of her favorite movies on her little tv in the headrest and due to the uneven street coloring isn’t an option. Luckily the destination is in sight. “Mhh, I think we are there in five minutes.” Children her age don’t have a sense for time yet, he knows that. Still, the father feels bad lying to her.
Finally they pull into the driveway, two people already waiting outside for them. After getting her out Matthew puts (Y/N) on his hip and makes his way over to his parents. “Baby, these are your grandma and grandpa. Can you say hello to them?”
But she tries to wiggle out of his grip, making the smiles on everybody’s faces fall. The father sets her down. Clumsily (Y/N) toddles over to them, colliding with her grandfather’s leg. “Hello, I love you!” She looks up at them sweetly. Her grandma has to restrain herself from letting the tears of happiness fall down.
“Hello there, Baby. We are so happy to finally meet you!” She says to the toddler, who now is in her grandfather’s arms.
It’s in this moment that Matthew decides his daughter is in fact a people person, which he is kind of relieved about, knowing that quarantine hasn’t taken anything from her.
His father shows him to join the group hug, being finally reunited as a family after all this time.

Mike Milligram: The Lost Killjoy
Edit: On July 21st 2020, a Mike Milligram comic by Gerard Way and Shaun Simon was officially announced. However, I’ll leave this post as it is for future reference.
In 2009, while My Chemical Romance fans were eagerly awaiting news on their upcoming album, Gerard Way had another surprise in store: the announcement of a new comic series called “Killjoys.”
Co-written by Shaun Simon and illustrated by Becky Cloonan, Gerard told CBR that the series would “deal with much more mature and controversial themes, such as hate crimes and homophobia, the homogenization of American culture and American life.” Unlike “The Umbrella Academy,” which was set in a fantasy world, “Killjoys” was set in modern-day America.
But what nobody realized was that even after an album, two music videos, and a six-issue comic series, Gerard’s original conception would never see the light of day.
Tumblr media
In 2008, Gerard Way and Shaun Simon developed the Killjoys universe in a frenzy of inspiration. Gerard’s original sketch features Mike Milligram on the left–named after Gerard’s brother Mikey Way–with a host of other characters that accompanied Mike on his journey. The comic was announced a year later at San Diego Comic Con, with a release planned in 2010.
With My Chemical Romance wrapping up their fourth album, Gerard and Shaun were ready to start writing. Becky Cloonan drew concept art for Mike Milligram, as well as promotional artwork that they planned to use at the Comic Con announcement. However, the Mike Milligram art was scrapped and replaced with a simple image of the Killjoy spider–a move that could later be seen as prophetic.
Tumblr media
In 2009, “Killjoys” was an entirely different concept. There was no Party Poison, no Dr. Death Defying, no Battery City, no girl with special powers. The original comic involved a surreal road trip through America that reunited offbeat characters and confronted harsh realities along the way. In 2013, Shaun Simon offered this description in the introduction to the special hardcover edition of the comics:
The old version of the story focused on Mike Milligram, a late-twenty-something living in a desert trailer park and working a crappy job at a supermarket. Mike’s teenage years were a blur. He couldn’t tell if the things he remembered had actually happened or not. Part of him believed he was part of a gang called the Killjoys who fought fictional things in the real world. The other part of him believed it was all just a dream. Music was the only thing that kept Mike going, so when the music was erased from his Ramones tape, it sent him over the edge. He went out and got his old teenage gang, who were now living normal lives, back together because, yes, it was all real. Other members of his gang included Ani-Max, now a high school history teacher; Code Blue, a rabble-rouser who was a working girl in Vegas; Monster, a new young member they met on the road; and Kyle 100%, who was a B-list actor now. They all had strange powers based on objects. Halloween masks and costume accessories, puffy jackets, toy ray guns. It was a story about a group of old friends getting together and discovering what America really was. Reaching deep inside its pretty facade and pulling out the ugly guts. (It was semiautobiographical. I toured with Gerard and his band for a couple of years before realizing I needed to find my own path.) The gang would have found out that another former gang had now become the largest health care corporation in the country and were hell bent on making the world a safe and clean place by removing all that was dirty, like the Ramones. It would have been a great story, and I’m sure parts will end up in Gerard’s and my’s future work.
Tumblr media
Of course, we all know what happened after that announcement. After Gerard took a fateful week-long trip to the desert, MCR decided to scrap “Conventional Weapons” and fueled their energy into writing “Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys.” But even as Gerard delved into this new post-apocalyptic version of the Killjoy universe, the comics remained the same. As late as 2011, Gerard claimed in an interview with Artrocker that the comics hadn’t changed at all:
No, none of the characters, even our characters, are in it. It is a completely separate thing, even almost a separate setting. It shares all the ideals behind the record and the theories and the commentary but it is nothing like the videos you have seen. I think the car is probably the only thing that’s the same!
But as the band took on more responsibilities–filming music videos, promoting the album, going on tour–the comics kept getting pushed back. First the release planned for 2010; then it was pushed back to 2011. And while the era had kicked off without a hitch, MCR eventually hit one of the first of many roadblocks: they didn’t have enough money to film the third video. So as Shaun Simon told CBR, the original story featuring Mike Milligram was scrapped, and replaced with the story of the girl and the Ultra Vs:
[A]fter the record, Gerard had built this whole world around the Killjoys. When it came time for the comic, Gerard called me up and said, “We ran out of money. We wanted to make the third video, but we don’t have the money. So do you want to make the idea for that video into a comic?” We started talking about ideas, and we had so many that it turned into this whole series.
In an interview with Paste (2013), Gerard went into more detail about the process:
The deal is that I had written three videos (“Na Na Na,” “Sing,” and “The Only Hope For Me Is You”), and the third video had never gotten made. By the time we had completed the second video, we just ran out of budget money. At the time, somebody was managing us and not keeping an eye on this stuff. Long story short, there was no budget. So I wrote a video, and of course it ends up being the most expensive one, as the last part would usually be. But we couldn’t make it! Killjoys started its life as a very different comic. It was heavily-rooted in nineties Vertigo post-modernism. There’s a lot of very cool, abstract ideas in it; I wouldn’t even call it a superhero book. That (comic) was a visual and thematic inspiration on what would become the album Danger Days. It was pretty loose, though. This was going to be my interpretation of the story, so there’s way more science fiction involved. And what I need to say to the world needed to be a little more direct, so I boiled it down to something that’s still very smart and challenging, but I thought was definitely easier to understand through song or visual. Then (Killjoys artist) Becky Cloonan drew a 7-inch for “The Only Hope For Me Is You,” which was going to be the last video single. I realized I was out of budget, so I said ‘just make this the girl from the first and second video at 15. And have her shave her head or chop her hair off like in The Legend of Billie Jean, because that’s how the video was supposed to start.’ So (Cloonan) sends this drawing over and I’m on tour with Blink 182 in a hotel on an off day. I get this drawing and I’m so immediately blown away by it. I call Shaun, my co-writer and co-creator, and I say ‘open your email, I’m going to send you something.’ I ask him ‘how does this image make you feel?’ We talked for two hours. By the end of the conversation we both realized that that image was the comic, and the third video was basically the comic. So we figured how we were going to make this interesting and exciting for six issues and complete the story. And that was the final direction. It was pretty obvious to us.
Tumblr media
In a way, Mike Milligram’s spirit lived on, as fans noticed the similarities between Mike Milligram and Party Poison. But it’s inaccurate to say that Mike Milligram became Party Poison, though “Party Poison’s real name is Mike Milligram” became a persistent rumor in the fandom. Mike’s story was not Poison’s; he wasn’t a post-apocalyptic rebel, but a teenager searching for his identity in modern America.
Tumblr media
Will Mike Milligram’s story ever be told? At this point, it’s not likely. But his tale offers a glimpse into the creative minds of Gerard Way and Shaun Simon, and makes us ponder the fact that with a few changes–the comics being released earlier, for instance, or MCR having the money to fund the third video–the comics could have been entirely different.

KITTIE Announces Band Lineup For Reunion Shows
Canadian all-girl metallers KITTIE have confirmed the lineup of the band that will perform at Las Vegas's When We Were Young festival this fall. Joining vocalist/guitarist Morgan Lander and drummer Mercedes Lander will be guitarist Tara McLeod and bassist Ivana "Ivy" Vujic.
A member of KITTIE singer 2005, McLeod told Premier Guitar about her role in the band: "On the creative side of things, Morgan and I are very comfortable with each other because we're both naturally very shy. We just don't feel any sort of embarrassment showing each other an idea. And that makes for a much more relaxed writing session."
Morgan stated about Tara: "Tara is such a fabulous guitar player and is so invested in her instrument, and she also likes all different genres of music. She's one of my best friends. When she joined, it added a really amazing element that I think was lacking. It can get stagnant after a while, people with the same ideas. I think it was integral to the evolution of the band."
Vujic joined KITTIE in 2008 and appeared on the band's fifth studio CD, 2009's "In The Black". She also wrote and recorded bass for KITTIE's sixth album, 2011's "I've Failed You".
When We Were Young will be held on the Las Vegas Festival Grounds on the Strip on October 22, October 23 and October 29.
Officials said the "emo" festival will feature the same lineup on all three dates, with the exception of Alex G replacing Wolf Alice on October 29, and La Dispute will not perform on October 29.The lineup also includes MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE, PARAMORE, AFI, THE USED, BRING ME THE HORIZON, TAKING BACK SUNDAY, DASHBOARD CONFESSIONAL, ALKALINE TRIO, MANCHESTER ORCHESTRA, THE ALL-AMERICAN REJECTS, AVRIL LAVIGNE, WOLF ALICE, STORY OF THE YEAR, JIMMY EAT WORLD and many others. When the lineup for When We Were Young was first revealed, KITTIE said: "Thanks for your patience with our silence friends. The truth is we've been in full on crisis mode the past week and weren't sure if we’d actually be able to make this happen but it's true and we'll be there to melt your face off and we hope you got your tickets."After the third When We Were Young date was announced, KITTIE wrote: "Third show added! Super stoked that @whenwewereyoungfest has decided to add yet another date! October 29th 2022. We'll see you there…tickets on sale January 31st".
KITTIE has not performed since its reunion show at London Music Hall in the band's native London, Ontario in 2017, celebrating the group's documentary "Kittie: Origins/Evolutions".
Earlier this month, the original lineup of KITTIE — Morgan, Mercedes, Fallon Bowman (guitar) and Tanya Candler (bass) — reunited for an online chat to celebrate the 22nd anniversary of its gold-certified 2000 debut album, "Spit".
Candler left KITTIE after the release of "Spit" in order to finish high school and was replaced by Talena Atfield.
Bowman exited KITTIE in 2001 and started her own industrial/electronic project, AMPHIBIOUS ASSAULT.
After KITTIE completed the touring cycle for 2011's "I've Failed You" album, the band entered a long period of inactivity during which Morgan focused on a marketing job for a chain of fitness clubs while Mercedes worked in real estate and more recently at a software company. The group also began work on a career-spanning documentary, "Origins/Evolutions", which finally saw the light of day in 2018 via Lightyear Entertainment in North America.
Last May, Morgan told Pierre Gutiérrez of Rock Talks that KITTIE was still "on hiatus." She explained: "Since the documentary was filmed and has been released, there's been some changes. We are no longer a signed act. So if we were going to make new music, it would be released independently. But we do still have a number of legacy-type projects that we are going to be releasing and working on for the future. We love to be able to pay tribute to the things that we've done in the past. And I know that a lot of people are even just excited for re-releases of old stuff and whatnot. We're always looking for ways to reintroduce people [to KITTIE's music] and whatnot. So we do have a couple of things coming down the pipeline. I can't really give too many details yet, but there will be announcements and it will be awesome and it should be pretty fun. But no new music as of right now."
"I've Failed You" sold 3,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 178 on The Billboard 200 chart.

Rhonda Fleming (born Marilyn Louis; August 10, 1923 – October 14, 2020) was an American film and television actress and singer. She acted in more than 40 films, mostly in the 1940s and 1950s, and became renowned as one of the most glamorous actresses of her day, nicknamed the "Queen of Technicolor" because she photographed so well in that medium.
Fleming was born Marilyn Louis in Hollywood, California, to Harold Cheverton Louis, an insurance salesman, and Effie Graham, a stage actress who had appeared opposite Al Jolson in the musical Dancing Around at New York's Winter Garden Theatre from 1914 to 1915. Fleming's maternal grandfather was John C. Graham, an actor, theater owner, and newspaper editor in Utah.
She began working as a film actress while attending Beverly Hills High School, from which she graduated in 1941. She was discovered by the well-known Hollywood agent Henry Willson, who changed her name to "Rhonda Fleming".
"It's so weird", Fleming said later. "He stopped me crossing the street. It kinda scared me a little bit -- I was only 16 or 17. He signed me to a seven-year contract without a screen test. It was a Cinderella story, but those could happen in those days."
Fleming's agent Willson went to work for David O. Selznick, who put her under contract.[5][6] She had bit parts in In Old Oklahoma (1943), Since You Went Away (1944) for Selznick, and in When Strangers Marry (1944).
She received her first substantial role in the thriller, Spellbound (1945), produced by Selznick and directed by Alfred Hitchcock. "Hitch told me I was going to play a nymphomaniac", Fleming said later. "I remember rushing home to look it up in the dictionary and being quite shocked." The film was a success and Selznick gave her another good role in the thriller The Spiral Staircase (1946), directed by Robert Siodmak.
Selznick lent her out to appear in supporting parts in the Randolph Scott Western Abilene Town (1946) at United Artists and the film noir classic Out of the Past (1947) with Robert Mitchum and Kirk Douglas, at RKO, where she played a harried secretary.
Fleming's first leading role came in Adventure Island (1947), a low-budget action film made for Pine-Thomas Productions at Paramount Pictures in the two-color Cinecolor process and co-starring fellow Selznick contractee Rory Calhoun.
Fleming then auditioned for the female lead in a Bing Crosby film, a part Deanna Durbin turned down at Paramount in A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court (1949), a musical loosely based on the story by Mark Twain. Fleming exhibited her singing ability, dueting with Crosby on "Once and For Always" and soloing with "When Is Sometime". They recorded the songs for a three-disc, 78-rpm Decca album, conducted by Victor Young, who wrote the film's orchestral score. Her vocal coach in Hollywood, Harriet Lee, praised her "lovely voice", saying, "she could be a musical comedy queen". The movie was Fleming's first Technicolor film. Her fair complexion and flaming red hair photographed exceptionally well and she was nicknamed the "Queen of Technicolor", a moniker not worth much to her as she would have preferred to be known for her acting. Actress Maureen O'Hara expressed a similar sentiment when the same nickname was given to her around this time.
She then played another leading role opposite a comedian, in this case Bob Hope, in the The Great Lover (1949). It was a big hit and Fleming was established. "After that, I wasn't fortunate enough to get good directors", said Fleming. "I made the mistake of doing lesser films for good money. I was hot – they all wanted me – but I didn't have the guidance or background to judge for myself."
In February 1949, Selznick sold his contract players to Warner Bros, but he kept Fleming.
In 1950 she portrayed John Payne's love interest in The Eagle and the Hawk, a Western.
Fleming was lent to RKO to play a femme fatale opposite Dick Powell in Cry Danger (1951), a film noir. Back at Paramount, she played the title role in a Western with Glenn Ford, The Redhead and the Cowboy (1951).
In 1950, she ended her association with Selznick after eight years, though her contract with him had another five years to run.
Fleming signed a three-picture deal with Paramount. Pine-Thomas used her as Ronald Reagan's leading lady in a Western, The Last Outpost (1951), John Payne's leading lady in the adventure film Crosswinds (1951), and with Reagan again in Hong Kong (1951).
She sang on NBC's Colgate Comedy Hour during the same live telecast that featured Errol Flynn, on September 30, 1951, from the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood.
Fleming was top-billed for Sam Katzman's The Golden Hawk (1952) with Sterling Hayden, then was reunited with Reagan for Tropic Zone (1953) at Pine-Thomas. In 1953, Fleming portrayed Cleopatra in Katzman's Serpent of the Nile for Columbia. That same year, she filmed a western with Charlton Heston at Paramount, Pony Express (1953), and two films shot in three dimensions (3-D), Inferno with Robert Ryan at Fox, and the musical Those Redheads From Seattle with Gene Barry, for Pine-Thomas. The following year, she starred with Fernando Lamas in Jivaro, her third 3-D release, at Pine-Thomas. She went to Universal for Yankee Pasha (1954) with Jeff Chandler. Fleming also traveled to Italy to play Semiramis in Queen of Babylon (1954).
Fleming was part of a gospel singing quartet with Jane Russell, Connie Haines, and Beryl Davis.
Much of the location work for Fleming's 1955 Western Tennessee's Partner, in which she played Duchess opposite John Payne as Tennessee and Ronald Reagan as Cowpoke, was filmed at the Iverson Movie Ranch in Chatsworth, California, (known as the most heavily filmed outdoor location in the history of film and television). A distinctive monolithic sandstone feature behind which Fleming (as Duchess) hid during an action sequence, later became known as the Rhonda Fleming Rock. The rock is part of a section of the former movie ranch known as "Garden of the Gods", which has been preserved as public parkland.
Fleming was reunited with Payne and fellow redhead Arlene Dahl in a noir at RKO, Slightly Scarlet (1956). She did other thrillers that year; The Killer Is Loose (1956) with Joseph Cotten and Fritz Lang's While the City Sleeps (1956), co-starring Dana Andrews, at RKO. Fleming was top billed in an adventure movie for Warwick Films, Odongo (1956).
Fleming had the female lead in John Sturges's Gunfight at the O.K. Corral (1957) co-starring Burt Lancaster and Kirk Douglas, a big hit. She supported Donald O'Connor in The Buster Keaton Story (1957) and Stewart Granger in Gun Glory (1957) at MGM.
In May 1957, Fleming launched a nightclub act at the Tropicana in Las Vegas. It was a tremendous success. "I just wanted to know if I could get out on that stage – if I could do it. And I did! ... My heart was to do more stage work, but I had a son, so I really couldn't, but that was in my heart."
Fleming was Guy Madison's co star in Bullwhip (1958) for Allied Artists, and supported Jean Simmons in Home Before Dark (1958), which she later called her favorite role ("It was a marvellous stretch", she said).
Fleming was reunited with Bob Hope in Alias Jesse James (1959) and did an episode of Wagon Train.
She was in the Irwin Allen/Joseph M. Newman production of The Big Circus (1959), co-starring Victor Mature and Vincent Price. This was made for Allied Artists, whom Fleming later sued for unpaid profits.
Fleming travelled to Italy again to make The Revolt of the Slaves (1959) and was second billed in The Crowded Sky (1960).
In 1960, she described herself as "semi-retired", having made money in real estate investments. That year she toured her nightclub act in Las Vegas and Palm Springs.
During the 1950s, 1960s, and into the 1970s, Fleming frequently appeared on television with guest-starring roles on The Red Skelton Show, The Best of Broadway, The Investigators, Shower of Stars, The Dick Powell Show, Wagon Train, Burke's Law, The Virginian, McMillan & Wife, Police Woman, Kung Fu, Ellery Queen, and The Love Boat.
In 1958, Fleming again displayed her singing talent when she recorded her only LP, entitled simply Rhonda (reissued in 2008 on CD as Rhonda Fleming Sings Just For You). In this album, which was released by Columbia Records, she blended then-current songs like "Around The World" with standards such as "Love Me or Leave Me" and "I've Got You Under My Skin". Conductor-arranger Frank Comstock provided the musical direction.
On March 4, 1962, Fleming appeared in one of the last segments of ABC's Follow the Sun in a role opposite Gary Lockwood. She played a Marine in the episode, "Marine of the Month".
In December 1962, Fleming was cast as the glamorous Kitty Bolton in the episode, "Loss of Faith", on the syndicated anthology series, Death Valley Days, hosted by Stanley Andrews. In the story line, Kitty pits Joe Phy (Jim Davis) and Peter Gabriel (Don Collier) to run against each other for sheriff of Pima County, Arizona. Violence results from the rivalry.
In the 1960s, Fleming branched out into other businesses and began performing regularly on stage and in Las Vegas.
One of her final film appearances was in a bit-part as Edith von Secondburg in the comedy The Nude Bomb (1980) starring Don Adams. She also appeared in Waiting for the Wind (1990).
Fleming has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 2007, a Golden Palm Star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars was dedicated to her.
Fleming worked for several charities, especially in the field of cancer care, and served on the committees of many related organizations. In 1991, her fifth husband, Ted Mann, and she established the Rhonda Fleming Mann Clinic for Women's Comprehensive Care at the UCLA Medical Center.
In 1964, Fleming spoke at the "Project Prayer" rally attended by 2,500 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California. The gathering, which was hosted by Anthony Eisley, a star of ABC's Hawaiian Eye series, sought to flood the United States Congress with letters in support of mandatory school prayer, following two decisions in 1962 and 1963 of the United States Supreme Court, which struck down mandatory school prayer as conflicting with the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.
Joining Fleming and Eisley at the rally were Walter Brennan, Lloyd Nolan, Dale Evans, Pat Boone, and Gloria Swanson. Fleming declared, "Project Prayer is hoping to clarify the First Amendment to the Constitution and reverse this present trend away from God." Eisley and Fleming added that John Wayne, Ronald Reagan, Roy Rogers, Mary Pickford, Jane Russell, Ginger Rogers, and Pat Buttram would also have attended the rally had their schedules not been in conflict.
Fleming married six times:
Thomas Wade Lane, interior decorator, (1940–1942; divorced), one son
Dr. Lewis V. Morrill, Hollywood physician, (July 11, 1952 – 1954; divorced)
Lang Jeffries, actor, (April 3, 1960 – January 11, 1962; divorced)
Hall Bartlett, producer (March 27, 1966 – 1972; divorced)
Ted Mann, producer, (March 11, 1977 – January 15, 2001; his death)
Darol Wayne Carlson (2003 – October 31, 2017; his death)
Through her son Kent Lane (b. 1941), Rhonda also had two granddaughters (Kimberly and Kelly), four great-grandchildren (Wagner, Page, Lane, and Cole), and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was a Presbyterian and a Republican who supported Dwight Eisenhower during the 1952 presidential election.
Fleming died on October 14, 2020, in Saint John's Health Center, Santa Monica, California, at the age of 97. She is interred at Hillside Memorial Park in Culver City, California.

Been working on this forever, but here’s my take on the Older Warners au, mostly with Wakko and his family. Basically, this relates back to the rockstar!au I thought up for Wakko a while back where he joins a band a few years after the original Animaniacs ended, only now he also starts a family along the way. Currently, Wakko is a single dad raising fraternal twins named Jojo and Smakko and teaches them both how to be zany toons like him. Eventually, he moves his family back to the Warner Bros lot during the production of the Animaniacs reboot, where Yakko and Dot also help out with raising the twins.
More details about the story and the twins for anyone’s that curious, because I’ve been thinking about this au for a pretty long time.
Given that they’re toons, the Warners shouldn’t be able to age, and yet if they did then it would be completely unexplained. One day they woke up and realized that they were aging just like humans. Of course this haunts each of them, including Yakko, who does all that he can to reassure his siblings that eventually this will pass and they’ll go back to being kids again. However, that wasn’t the case, and the three learn to accept that growing up was just a part of life. Even so, age wasn’t going to stop the Warners from serving justice to the unjust and wrecking havoc on adults with massive egos, which would go on until their late teens.
During these years Wakko’s love for music also grows, and eventually he ends up forming a band with a few other toons around the studio. At first, their performances consisted of causing chaos around the lot and crashing production shoots-- infuriating Plotz to no end as the current CEO at the time-- yet when they noticed they were receiving positive attention from curious onlookers and angsty teens that liked their approach in fighting against the system, the band decided to become official. With this, Wakko is the first to leave the Warner Bros. lot and pursue his dreams of becoming a rockstar just like his idols. At first, he played as the band’s chaotic drummer, but as the years went on and he grew more confident, he also had the chance to man the front and sing a few solos for their band that would be named Toonz.
A few years later, Dot is the next to leave as she goes on to become a successful business woman and leave her child actor days behind. Yakko is the only one who ends up staying on the lot and continues to call the water tower home. At first, he started out as a comedian who did shows regularly, but as time went on and he became a little tone deaf with his audience, he started doing small acting bits around the studio. Yakko’s biggest achievement yet was creating a small web series where he posted educational songs to teach children certain topics, including a video that was an updated version of his iconic “countries of the world” song.
Meanwhile, Toonz takes the nation by storm. The attention they get is astounding, so much so, that they’re nearly invited everywhere in Hollywood, or if not then they’d crash it anyway. One party they crash in particular is where Wakko ends up meeting the twin’s mother. The party was held by a popular British singer named Jojo who was living in the states at the time and the twin’s mother so happened to be one of her stage managers. Jojo is unamused by the party crashers antics, yet tries to make the most of her night by introducing the twin’s mother to Wakko. One thing led to another and strangely the two began hitting it off, that is, until Wakko drunkenly sings “Wakko’s America” and crashes through a glass table.
Thank to Jojo and Toonz doing tons of collabs between each other, Wakko and the twins’ mother saw each other constantly. Eventually their random encounters turned into dating, and already two years had gone by. She was different than the other women he dated, and by that, really one of the only people who could put up with his cartoony antics. Not to mention, she also had a long-time hobby in drawing and sketching, which Wakko always loved posing as her muse. Eventually, Wakko decided to take their relationship to the next step and the two got married in Vegas.
One night, after Wakko and his wife returned from a long night of drinking and partying, the twins’ mother found herself drawing two twins that looked like Wakko from the original Animaniacs series. She didn’t now what possessed her to come up with them, but for some reason, she really felt like drawing them. As usual, Wakko being made of ink provided color for the sketch and gave them their black fur and red noses. All was going well until the twin’s mother accidentally got a paper cut and bled onto the page. After this, the two decided to call it a night and went to bed, unaware of what was happening to the page as they were sleeping.
Later that night, the two heard a loud crash coming from the kitchen. Afraid that it was a couple of robbers, Wakko goes to investigate, claiming that he wanted to greet his new “special” friends. What Wakko ends up finding instead are two little toon babies with puppy dog ears, cat-like tails, black furred with white faces, and tiny little pink noses that looked exactly like him. Upon further investigation, they soon discovered that the page they drew the twins on earlier was blank, which meant that for some reason, the twins came to life exactly the same way Wakko did (except they came out as babies.) Thus, Jojo and Smakko Warner were brought into the world and Wakko and his wife were now parents.
For the next decade, Wakko continued playing in the band while his wife stayed home to take care of the kids. Whether it’d be at practice or having yearly tours, Wakko unfortunately couldn’t be with his kids as much as he wanted to, yet, when he was able to spend some quality time with them, he gave it his all. He got to see what an adorable and excitable girl Jojo was, what a mischievous nature she held in courtesy of the Warner name, and what a big heart she had for those around her. As for Smakko, though he was timid and shy he was also very inquisitive, and with inheriting his Daddoo’s toon abilities the boy was practically the spitting image of him.
For years, it seemed as if nothing could tear the family apart. Sure, the twins had their moments, as well as most kids did; if anything they were more well behaved than the father they came from. Not only that, but barely were there any arguments or secrets kept between parents and children. Yet, nothing could have prepared Wakko for the day his wife died in a tragic accident, leaving him alone as a single father. Knowing that the twins had no one else to care for them, Wakko retired from the band to commit himself full-time in raising Jojo and Smakko.
A year later, Wakko buys an RV and decides to take his kids on the road. He wanted to teach them everything he knew when they were his age, get the chance to see the world, and help them get in touch with their toon heritage. Though Jojo was more than excited to spend time with her Daddoo as much as possible, Smakko on the other other hand was less than thrilled. All the boy wanted was for things to return back to normal; when their mother was always around and their Daddoo seemed more concerned with his band.
Months into this family entourage, and Wakko gets a call from Yakko:  Animaniacs was returning, and they wanted all three of the Warner siblings to come back. With this, Wakko moves the twins to the Warner Bros. lot and gives them the chance to see where he grew up. They move into the water tower with Yakko, who is more than happy as he’s been rather lonesome for the last two decades. Dot however is a little less than compliant to return to her roots, but eventually she warms up to the idea that the reboot would be willing to work with a more mature version of herself. Now that the three Warner siblings were reunited plus two, the family works together to bring back the joy and laughter that the original series gave to many. Though they’re a lot older, the three siblings are convinced they still have it in them. Eventually once the reboot runs its course, Wakko intends to get him and the kids back on the road, but for now, they’re content where they’re at.
Now, about the twins!
Jojo Warner:
Birthday: June 8th, 2009 (11 years old)
Fraternal twin sister to Smakko.
Since the parents were brought together by the singer, Jojo, she had the honor of being the girl’s godparent. With this, she named the baby after herself in defense of saying that “Jojo” wasn’t her real name, but that didn’t mean it couldn’t be their daughter’s.
Her ears are bigger than any of the other Warners, which is why they usually need to be tied back. Not like they cover her eyes or anything, but when she was little she used to chew on them constantly, causing concern for the new parents.
The heart hair tie she wears is from her mother and she treasures it dearly.
Out of both her parents, she has a stronger relationship with her Daddoo due to their mischievous and childlike personalities.
Just like Wakko, she has a ravenous appetite that only got bigger with age. As a toddler, if she didn’t get to eat right away, she would run around the house and throw a giant tantrum until she got her way. Sometimes, she still has a tendency to do this if her heart is set on something.
The only Disney movie she’s ever seen is Frozen, which proved her Daddoo’s point about them being mindless garbage when she wouldn’t stop singing Let It Go for months. Because of this, the kids were banned from seeing anymore Disney films.
When she was five, she ripped off Wakko’s tail while rough housing with it. Though it wasn’t that big of a deal thanks to Wakko being part salamander, that didn’t stop him from tricking Jojo into thinking she tore it off for good. Of course, the prank went too far when Jojo broke down in tears and begged over and over about how sorry she was, so Wakko finally decided to show his kids their amazing regenerating abilities and grew his tail back. Smakko immediately threw up after this. (I swear, that tail scene in the reboot was hella nasty)
One of her favorite hobbies is collecting weird things she finds on her adventures, whether it be a strangely shaped rock, a piece of trash, and yes, she even still has her Daddoo’s tail.
Another one of her favorite hobbies is playing with the small guitar her Daddoo gave her. On warm summer nights, Wakko and Jojo will sit on the roof of the RV or the water tower and sing into the night. Some of their favorites include songs by the Beatles, or songs by various rock groups. While her Daddoo strums on an electric guitar, she comes in with her acoustic to create a beautiful yet strange harmony. She hopes to be the lead singer of her own band one day.
Despite living up to the Warner name, Jojo didn’t inherit any of their cartoon abilities, which bugs her to this day. The only way she can keep up with her family’s antics is by engaging in witty banter and annoying the heck out of her victims. Sort of a mixture of Yakko and Dot’s form of humor.
She gets along well with her Uncle Yakko since both of them can’t keep their mouths shut. During the Warners’ escapades, she looks to Yakko on how to strengthen her form of humor.
As for her Aunt Dot, the two are slowly forming a relationship. Due to Jojo’s tomboyish nature, Dot has a harder time getting on her level of understanding-- though that doesn’t mean the two don’t confide in each other if they ever need to rant about the boys of the family.
She’s considered the leader of the twins due to being more confident and does most of the talking during their escapades.
She’s also very social, which leads her wanting to engage in more activities with kids her age such as going to school or trying to find her own niche of friends. Luckily, she ends up finding her own group when she befriends some of the child stars at the Warner Bros. studio.
Since her mother’s death, she believes that her mother looks down on them from the brightest star in the sky and grants them wishes. Every night, Jojo makes the same exact wish, not for herself but for her family:  She wishes for Wakko to have all the happiness in the world while she wishes for Smakko to be more confident in himself.
Smakko Warner:
Birthday: June 8th, 2009 (11 years old)
Basically my take on the forgotten character, Smakky from the original drafts of the Warners but like, less angry and more anxious.
He was a fussy baby. Most nights, he refused to be left alone in his crib and cried for hours into the night until his parents surrendered and consoled him. Usually this was an inconvenience for both Wakko and his wife, as well as the neighbors when they used to live in an apartment. One night, Wakko nearly got in a fight with a neighbor after they complained about the child’s insistent crying.
Out of both parents, he favors his mother the most. Her soft voice and reassuring words were always his form of comfort throughout his childhood. Due to Wakko always practicing with the band or going on tours, Smakko didn’t gain that much of a connection with him. Most of the time, Smakko found his Daddoo to be a little scary due to his brash cartoon nature.
Out of both twins he’s the shyest and will usually cling onto his family members whenever he meets someone new. He also has a tendency to get nervous real easily. Opponents are to be wary when they back him into a corner, lest they want to face his fearful wrath.
Unlike his sister, his toon abilities appeared the minute he was born. Upon naming him, he summoned a baby rattle and smacked his uncle on the head with it until he was given back to his mother. Hence, the boy was given the name “Smakko.”
Nowadays, the boy is able to summon mallets to his whim, cream pies to his choosing, and is able to teleport from place to place— however, this only happens whenever he’s frightened or really stressed. If anyone gets him extremely anxious, they either get pounded with a mallet or blown up with dynamite. In a way, his cartoon abilities act as a defensive reflex.
Another conundrum the parents faced during Smakko’s first years was being able to keep track of him. Most of the time, the boy would hide constantly either because he felt uncomfortable or something scared him. Sometimes, he’d end up in the most bizarre places such as in the freezer, in a load of laundry, or even in the ceiling. The only reason his parents knew where to find him was if they heard crying.
While his sister’s form of comedy is vocal, his is more physical like his Daddoo’s.
He also has a really small appetite compared to his Daddoo and sister. Most days, he can last with just a bowl of cereal up until dinner. He’s just not as passionate about eating like the rest of his family. Adding onto that, he’s a vegetarian. He gets sick at the thought of eating meat or harming animals to get his meal.
He’s very fond of animals, mostly smaller animals that he can pick up. He’s considered many times getting a pet, but due to the Warners active lifestyle, it’s something that’ll have to wait. As for now, he’ll help move bugs from getting crushed or summon food for hungry strays. (Rita and Runt go to him constantly for free food.)
He likes his Aunt Dot more than his Uncle Yakko. His uncle talks too much which overwhelms him. Meanwhile, Dot has that toned down personality that sort of resembles his mother’s, that is, until her brothers get her riled up.
Though Smakko loves his family, sometimes their crazy antics can get a little much. He misses his mother dearly considering that she was the only form of normalcy in his life. Now that she’s gone, he feels rather lost and doesn’t know how to open up to his Daddoo. Wakko on the other hand tries all that he can to calm himself around Smakko and assures him that his Dadoo will always be there for him. However, the boy’s anxiety is one that Wakko will have to learn to work with.

Naoto and Taichi's turbulent high school love crashed and burned, but a reunion in college puts love back on their radar.
Naoto and Taichi's first try at love during their high school days crashed and burned. Years later the two unexpectedly reunite on their first day of college. Tumultuous love often burns hot, and the glowing embers of their previous relationship reignite into a second try at love.
It's Naoto's first day of college, and the last person he expected to see was his high school ex Taichi, whom he'd dumped after a huge argument. Even though years have passed, Naoto finds he's still steamed over some of the harsh words that were exchanged, but he also recognizes how much Taichi has matured since then and can't help getting pulled back in. Will the discovery of his friend's crush on Taichi fray the fragile threads of this mending relationship?

Notes about S2E1: House on the Rock
I had a few months ago rewatched the entire season 2 of American Gods. I did so in order to collect notes and infos I could then put on the Wiki - those views were coupled by the study of numerous “breakdowns” and “analysis” videos on Youtube. It is especially interesting to rewatch an entire season once you saw the episodes a first time, because numerous details can suddenly become obvious.
# The “official building” of Black Briar is “Black Briar CC”, aka Black Briar Country Club. To open the secret wall in the parking, Technical Boy needs to show to a security camera a paperclip (maybe a reference to the operation Paperclip). The same way, the password [Challenge] for Black Briar is “Büroklammer”, the German word for paperclip (yes that’s definitively an operation Paperclip reference).
# Black Briar is a reference to the Greenbrier Country Club, a club often frequented by American presidents, and which has underneath a government reinforced bunker from the Cold War era where the Congress could have reunited in case of nuclear war.
# Mr. World mentions that Mr. Wednesday nearly “killed him”. However it is quite strange, because in the final episode of season 1 Mr. World merely used a Children as a “portal” or “window” to project himself, he wasn’t really there... Probably a continuity error. Media is also of course referred to the “best salesman” of Mr. World.
# According to Wednesday and Sweeney, there is a real mermaid living at Weekie Wachee (a place renowned for its “mermaid shows”).
# Of course the Jinn and Bilquis would have some connection and knowledge of each other, since Neil Gaiman chose the Jewish version of the Queen of Sheba that made her daughter of a djinn.
# Black Briar seems to be the show’s equivalent of the “Agency” because it has a very similar idea - it is a construct of conspiracy theory beliefs, they work with gods, yet the Caretaker ignored who Mr. World was when he arrived and seem very normal and human, not having any god-like feature. In fact, we later see that the agents sent by Black Briar are also humans and respect their “bosses” as gods. According to Mr. World, Black Briar was liked or behind “operation Paperclip” (America extrading Nazi scientists to help them fight the Russians, kept secret by the government for nearly thirty years), “the moon landing”  (the popular idea that the moon landing was faked), “the Compton crack wars” (the idea that the crack epidemic of the 80s and 90s was caused by the CIA), and “Roswell” (the famous Roswell incident many believe to have been alien-related). All of this clearly puts them on the same level as the Agency in the book - aka the “mysterious government conspiracy”.
# Mr. World needs to assert himself to the Caretaker who doesn’t know his identity, and says that the “Eye of Argus” Black Briar can connect itself with is for the use of the “President only”. Mr. World answers by saying he knows about all their conspiracies and that Black Briar has always worked for him - he is the “man behind the men behind the men” (aka the literal embodiment of the idea of the “man behind the man”, shadow power behind governments, etc...). Note that technology keeps disrupting around Mr. World like in the first season.
# The incident of Easter’s fury in the finale of season 1 is referred here as a “freak phenomenon” that killed all the crops in Kentucky.
# John Henry, the American folk hero, is mentionned as one of the people Wednesday wanted to rally, but failed to. Whiskey Jack was also apparently invited to the reunion at the House on the Rock but declined the invitation.
# Wednesday mistakes Salim for a pre-Islamic god, and drops the names “Hubal” and “Manat”. Hubat seems to have been the main male god, a father-figure, in the pre-Islamic arabian mythology. “Manat” however is a stranger name to drop because Manat was not a god but a goddess - the one of fate.
# Bilquis brags about how ancient she is, and she is referred to as the “Queen of Solomon” (it should be noted that the whole “love and sex” aspect of the Queen of Sheba comes indeed from her relationship with the King Solomon).
# The Norns are of course mentionned here.
# Zorya Vechernyaya is referred to as the “Evening Star” and “Lady of the Sunset”.
# Of course Anansi (who has been identified in the previous season as working as a tailor) will bring up the measurements of people.
# During the reunion, Anansi mentions that he “fought” ever since the Portuguese invaded the Gold Coast of Ghana.
# The Lion-God is mentionned as one of the gods coming to America, like in the novel. I start to think now that the people who try to identify him as a specific god are wrong. Indeed, while on the same list are dropped names like Frau Holle, Kubera, Thor, the Lion-God stays just that... Why not give him a name? Plus the Lion-God is always following Anansi and kind of grouped together, so I believe this Lion-God may simply be a name given for another folkloric character of African stories, just like Anansi is The Spider, literaly. But which part of Africa, which people, which country, I could not say.
# Of course Czernobog would say that he is “cancer” - he is literaly the negative god of darkness, winter and death.
# Bilquis wonders if Laura is a “Hungarian goddess of death”. If my knowledge is correct however, the Hungarians did not had a goddess of death, but rather a god of death and disease known as Ordog.
# Of course, Bilquis notifies the New God, via a sort of “pick-me-up” application hinting “Your ride is on its way”. At Black Briar, Mr. World receives the question “Retrieve the package?”, sent by the team of agents send at the Motel America (later revealed to be Mr. Town and goons). To open up the monitor that will allow him to talk to them back, Mr. World enters the code “130-7925″ (I do not know if this has any meaning). Then he enters on the “command line” : root bbcnd ; from Mr. World to Town ; Strike package request ; execute target.
# The agents dispatched by Black Briar first act through a sniper, whose bullets have the words “Deus mortuorum” engraved in them (something alongside the lines of “Gods die” or “Kill gods”), but when Shadow goes to attack them he is actually kidnapped “alien-style”, when a pillar of light drags him away in the sky, inside an unindentified flying object that then disappears in the night sky.
# It is said that there is a “dozen gods” at the reunion at the House on the Rock. We already know there is the Zoryas, Czernobog, Wednesday, Anansi (and eventually Bilquis). The other gods are listed as such in the credits: Ame-no-Uzume (from Japanese mythology), played by Uni Park. Ahura Mazda, played by Al Maini (from Zoroastrian religion). Frau Holle (from Germanic legends) played by Colleen Reynolds.
But that’s the regular gods. Afterward there is a list of other gods who are not clearly identified and just have... random names. The Unknown God played by Jack Faley (maybe the “forgettable god” of Las Vegas?). The Warrior Woman, played by Yvette McKoy. The Beautiful Woman, played by Sonya Cote. The Old Wizard, played by Stoneman Senior. The Thuggish Man, played by Mike Scherer. The New God (no mix-up with the New Gods) played by Jamieson M. Donnell. And finally the MJ Hobo God, played by Edward A. Queffelec. Seriously? Why and how did they just came up with these random gods? I mean, come on, they could have last put some efforts in actual references.

PJO TV Plans
So before even the first little HINT about the PJO Disney+ show, I was making plans for a Riordan-verse tv show.
So each season would have twenty episodes, with 8-9 episodes per book and in the middle, two episodes based on short stories or myths. This would allow for the actors, who would obviously be age-matching kids, to grow and still be the appropriate ages for each story.
As we would eventually run out of actual Riordan books, we would move on to Riordan Presents books. Here’s my plans! Let me know what you think and if/how i should clarify!
(Bold is Season, italic is middle/short story episodes, and strikethrough is book. I often show the extents of each episode through chapter titles or quotes found on the wiki plot summaries of each book. If using chapter title, that means it uses every chapter until the next mentioned one.)
