ZENIN NAOYA HATED YOU.

he hated the first day of his second year.

that was the first time he got to put a face to your name. you were gojo's new student, and he made sure to parade you around like some sort of trophy. you introduced yourself so sweetly despite the pointed glare he gave you. you got along instantly with his dumb classmate, who kept giving you heart eyes like some corny high schooler.

he hated your clan. a clan of prideful and strong women.

he made sure to remind you everyday by calling you a slut, not even bothering to say your name. honestly, even if your friends made sure to defend you, you would brush it off and continue with your day like nothing happened. this pissed him off even more.

he made it his personal goal to get a reaction out of you. he would go out of his way to provoke you, yet you remained unprovoked. that was until he finally put his finger on your weakness— your friends.

he hated your friends, but above all, he hated your technique.

everything you touch turns to gold— and so did he when he insulted your friend kirara. he became a literal gold statue, and he couldn't get out of it. you didn't release your technique for a good day.

after that incident, everything went back to normal. you wouldn't even bat an eyelash around him, still grabbing his bicep on missions, and laughing to yourself when you would tell him about your day.

naoya used to push you away, telling you that you should die since you refuse to walk three steps behind him. he would call you a dumb bitch, but you wouldn't even interrupt your own speech, clawing at his bicep with your pink nails again and continuing to blabber even if he wouldn't give you the time of the day.

and then, after a few months, his pathetic classmate, ino takuma, climbed up a few ranks, meaning that he would accompany you two on your missions. now, it was no secret that you had ino on a leash. he would only see you during school and training— you were usually paired up with either naoya or your classmates for missions.

so, being unfamiliar to your weird dynamic, where you would stick to naoya like glue while he would cuss you out, it was more than unsettling for him. he never knew someone could stand this man, let alone enjoy his company. he also didn't know why you, out of all people, were so patient with his misogynistic classmate.

at this point, naoya got sick of you, and shoved you away harshly. "don't look in my eyes when you talk to me, you bitch." he spat.

you ignored his comment once again, reaching out to hold his bicep like usual. that was until your words died on your tongue when ino gently held your hand, his fingers embracing yours.

"talk to me instead." his gaze was softer than cashmere, and his words, sweeter than honey. your lips agape, you blinked a few times, and he laughed fondly at your reaction. "c'mon," he ushered, "tell me about those cats you fed in the alleyway."

he started walking again, bumping into naoya, who clenched his jaw in annoyance. ino didn't apologize— he was on autopilot around you. he pulled you with him, walking backwards to avoid breaking eye contact. it was worth it, so so worth it.

he got to see the shine in your eyes and the flutter of your lashes. "i think the cats were lovers."

"were they?"

"yeah." you smiled. "i like cats."

"yeah? what would you call your cat if you had one?" ino wanted to know everything about you.

your answer was immediate."ponyo."

"like the ghibli movie?"

"mhm. it's my favourite."

he rubbed his chin with his free hand, deep in thought, which made you giggle at his playfulness. "i think my favourite is princess mononoke."

"i haven't seen that one yet." you admitted, making ino gasp dramatically.

"i know, i know, how shameful." you rolled your eyes.

"i have the dvd in my room, so come over to my dorm tonight." he squeezed your hand, giving you a bright smile.

"i will." you replied before turning around. "naoya! walk faster, i want to try that new restaurant after the mission!"

his head perked up, his eyebrows raised in confusion before he scowled again. "it's zenin to you. don't order me around."

he caught up quickly, and for the first time, he didn't try to walk three steps in front of you. he remained at your side, even when your hand wasn't holding his.

naoya still remembered the following events. he remembers you clutching his uniform's sleeve after the mission, about to beg him to take you to the restaurant you talked about earlier.

he pushed you forward before you even got to open your mouth. "just lead the way." he mumbled.

your eyes sparkled before you lunged at him.

"you're so nice today, naoya!"

"stop it before i change my fucking mind." he groaned, trying to escape your grip.

you immediately stopped before grabbing ino's hand and running towards the restaurant. "come on, ino! it's naoya's treat."

"what— no, wait!"

at the restaurant, you ordered a shit ton of food, even though naoya clearly told you he wouldn't be paying for you, nor ino for that matter. you just ignored him, making him rage even more.

when ino excused himself, you immediately turned to naoya, who was too busy fitting three dumplings in his mouth.

"i told you it was good, didn't i?" you chuckled, and he vigorously shook his head. he wasn't the best liar. "whatever. you'll pay for me anyways."

"no, i won't." he protested with his mouth full, making you cringe a little.

"yes, you will. you say that everytime, but you still pay for me." you wiggled your finger in front of his face, making him scowl. he swatted your hand away, going back to eating his food.

"why don't you get angry at me?" you tilted your head, confused by the question.

"why would i get mad at you?"

"so you're telling me that you know your place as a woman?"

"what are you on about? weirdo." your eyes widened at the bullshit he was sprouting. "should i turn you to gold again? i swear i won't get you out of there this time."

"huh? no, i'm asking why you let me call you a whore?"

"what's wrong with being a whore?"

he choked on air, grabbing his cup to take a swing of water. "are you saying you're a whore, then?"

"i'm a slut in flesh, yes."

he blinked rapidly. "are you fucking with me right now?"

"look, naoya. i like dick. like, really." you said loudly which made him go red. "is that what you were trying to make me say? the fact that you call me a hoe doesn't affect me, 'cause it's true. you get it now?"

he nodded, frozen from the sudden turn of events. you snorted at his expression, shaking your head from amusement.

you cleared your throat, leaning back in your chair, manspreading. "so... are we friends now?"

naoya's breath hitched. this was all against his morals.

you clicked your tongue, taking a napkin and wiping the grease around his mouth. "you're such a sloppy eater, naoya..." you giggled, "silly, silly boy."

"yeah..." he breathed out, completely mesmerized.

you pecked the corner of his lips, sitting back in your chair.

"good boy."

favorite music: Honestly, I think I can say that I listen mostly everything. I've come to the conclusion that I don't really care about the genre, if I like a song, I like it and that's about it. And that's why my playlist is a mess, especially when I put it on shuffle lmao

favorite movie(s): It's so hard to pick, there are so many good ones! But I recently watched Tokyo Godfathers, that one automatically jumped in my top favourites. I also really liked Grave of Fireflies (even though it's quite a heavy movie), Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, The Handmaiden (let's go lesbians, let's go), Perfect Blue, Everything Everywhere All At Once, The Jigsaw franchise (and honestly, I think the 10th movie might be my favourite), The Fear Street Trilogy, Coraline, What We Do In The Shadows, Train To Busan

Honorable mentions: I think Gremlins is starting to grow on me, especially the second movie because I love that the production team didn't take it all too seriously, I do like when some movies are self-aware how silly they actually are. Also shoutout to The Sadness. Am I ever going to watch that movie ever again? Probably not, it was a very disturbing movie. But this is not your usual zombie movie, if I can even call it a zombie movie, which surprised me? Like, it definitely does have those elements of the apocalyptic zombie genre but turned it completely over its head by making the infected actually aware of the things they're doing but not being able to stop it. Again, it is a disturbing movie, it's not for everybody. I personally don't see myself watching it twice. Plus, finding out that the director has said something like that he wanted to focus more on the "fun and the gore" other than anything else in a Q&A did sound quite sussy to me given the heavy topics and the ways the movie could be interpreted. Idk, as philology and literature major it just keeps getting confirmed to me that most, if not all works of art, no matter in what form, have something to say and they deeply reflect the time in which they were created, and there's always the subjectivity of the viewer who interprets it in their own way (like hell, even the superheroes in movies these days most likely take a whole lot of inspiration from Greek mythology, if you really think about it). Some people have mentioned that the director might have answered the way that he did as to not stir up controversy since it was at a festival, but I can't say for sure, I wasn't there to see the interview myself and this is already getting really long so I will stop now, you can make your own conclusions.

favorite series: Courage the cowardly dog, The Scooby-Doo franchise, Are You Afraid Of The Dark (I'm talking about the 90's series, I haven't watched the 2019 revival). Do I remember anything from them? Kind of, it's been a very long time since I've watched them. I kind of want to rewatch them because of it. But they sparked my interest in all things spooky when I was a kid so I feel like they deserve a place here. Some of my other favourites include: The Untamed, Serial Experiments Lain, Steins;Gate, Semantic Error, Another, My Roommate is a Detective, Wellington Paranormal, What We Do In The Shadows, Hellbound and Sweet Home (I do recommend reading the webtoons of those two, though), Death Parade, The Silent Sea, Color Rush, Squid Game, My Beautiful Man, Good Omens, Our Flag Means Death, Alice on Borderland, My Name, Yellowjackets, Theatre of Darkness: Yamishibai

last song: Ruler Of My Heart by BL8M & Rubyeye & Unknown (Till The End) by AKUGETSU (Alien Stage OSTs) (tw for blood and a bit of gory imagery in the MVs for anyone who wants to check them out). Also can I also just talk about the 1st Anniversary Remixes of those two songs too!!! (here and here, audio only). Just *cheff's kiss*, I love those songs so much, I want to eat them. The story all these animations is quite interesting, the animations themselves are very well done too. How can I describe it. The story kind of takes that deadly game trope (like, let's say in the Hunger Games and Alice in Borderland), but make it about people being forced to be in a singing competition against each other to survive and they are being judged by aliens. From what I know, I could be wrong, the main way of storytelling is through the MVs on the VIVINOS YT channel so it does require a bit to analyze (there is a bit of a additional info on the official website and on the wiki, I'm sure), so if any of that sound interest you, I would recommend checking it out

currently reading: So Long, And Thank for All The Fish from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy books. I'm so happy of how much progress I've done on reading those books compiled in one huge book, I'm halfway through the series now. And honestly I want to read it for as long as I can because I really enjoy it, it's so fun, I love the absurd situation the main characters fall into while the big question of the meaning of life, the Universe and everything looms over them. This would definitely go in one of my top books I've read I'm sure.

And I also have to mention the webtoons that I'm reading because I love them very much too: Hand Jumper, The Blind Prince, Lore Olympus, Zombie X Slasher (I don't know in what kind of direction this one would go, but so far so good!), Everything is Fine, Flawed Almighty, Homesick (I love love LOVE this one! The art style and everything is great), Never Ending Darling (I know that it's gonna end in like 2 days officially once the last episode is available to read for free, but damn, what a ride this was. The concept of this webtoon is terrifying), Omniscient Reader, My S-Class Hunters, ZOMGAN (also quite an interesting and honestly refreshing way of making a story about zombies), Nocturne and The Guy Upstairs

And special highlight to: There Are No Demons. This webtoon? An absolute nightmare fuel. I find it very interesting that the artist Nemo Nullus makes 3D models first and then draws over them. I wasn't so sure how to feel like it when I first saw it, this was the first time I've seen anything like it on webtoon, but I quickly grew to like this art style, the kind of weird realism and uncanny valley really add to the stories. And the stories themselves are very scary because these are things that could actually happen, and have most likely happened in real life too, especially that first story with the stalker. This webtoon has made me feel things no other horror/thriller webtoon has made me feel, I feel like I want to crawl out of my own body when I'm reading it, really.

currently working on: Mostly focusing on studying a bit more for my exam on monday. But once I'm done I'll be back to doing more stuff here, hopefully ❤️

The 100 Favorite Movies Challege

As a huge movie buff, I thought I'd try something fun on here. I have decided to launch a new internet challenge: "The 100 Favorite Movies Challenge". The rules are pretty simple and straight forward. You create a list of 100 of your personal favorite movies in alphabetical order, post the list on your home page, then nominate other people/users of your choosing to do the challenge.

There is no limit to what movies can be included on your list. Films within any medium (live action or animated), genre, and decade are more than welcome. @ranshoehub okay you're getting my list this way because putting it all in replies to your post would be inconvenient. I am only briefly mentioning things though so I'll give you more on whatever you're interested in.

First off, like you said, you already have a kitsune but on the subject of foxes there's also the Kuda-gitsune (what Tsukasa is, a pipefox). Also similar to that is an Izuna, quite similar to a kuda-gitsune but they act as familiars to a magicky person. Then there's Myobu who are foxes of good fortune that often guard shrines. Usually they're statues but within Touhou statues coming to live ain't exactly uncommon.

Then there's kodama. Kodama aren't really a specific look (though I quite like how they were in Princess Mononoke) but they're tree spirits that come from particularly long lived trees. They're also the namesake for a particular type of bullet train so I just thought that was a neat detail to share.

Kamaitachi are basically little weasel youkai (their name means sickle weasel) who run around and give you a cut on a leg. They also sometimes are depicted doing something that kinda resembles sonic spindashing.

A Mujina is kind of like a kitsune or a Tanuki. Being a somewhat mischevious shapeshifting animal. A mujina, however, is a badger youkai (best animal). Well a Japanese Badger which is called an anaguma and is not the same as a western badger. Though they are masters of disguises they tend to give themselves away because they like to sleep and when they do their tail pops out.

Kube-Kira-Uma are a horse spirit that doesn't have a head. Like a headless horseman but without the man part. They often are depicted acting as holiday steeds for gods or powerful youkai.

Raiju are some sort of thunder beast that bring storms with them. But what they actually look at varies greatly. Sometimes they're a dog, a fox, some sort of larger animal, a squirrel thing, I dunno art of them is real inconcistent. But they're some sorta funny storm making beast.

To go with the above there's the Qilin/Kirin/Girin. Which is a Chinese/Japanese/Korean Deer-Dragon (or sometimes a unicorn or a horse-dragon) that fights dragons and is often associated with storms. Their appearance traditionally is said to herald the birth or death of a great leader or philosopher. They're supposed to be very calm and serene but they will fuck you up. It's cool.

Kudan is a cow with a human face. When they're born they utter a prophecy and then immediately die. I can't find anything too interesting about them but they;re just too funny not to include.

Nekomata I'm mentioning just by virtue of them being one of the types of cat youaki that has not been a major character in Touhou.

A very modern (The 1980s) youkai is Jinmenken which are dogs with the face of humans. The stories about it are that you find it rooting around in your garbage, it notices that you've noticed it, then it looks up at you and sadly says "just leave me alone" and walks away.

Akaname comes into your house and drinks your bathwater. I gotta mention that guy cause he's gross.

Kotobuki is a chimera made up of all the animals of the Chinese zodiac.

Aosagibi is a bird that glows with ghost fire

Amenasu: A shape shifting animal but it's a big fish

Amabiko: Three legged ape youkai that walks out of the sea to give prophecies

Furaribi: A like ... flying chicken fireball? Which floats around aimlessly.

Bitan: Aquatic cowfish

Furi: Flying otters that ride on the wind and are maybe a type of weird tanuki

Aurelia comes off as enigmatic and beautiful. But ultimately, she keeps her heart very much in her chest. She is open and honest and compassionate, but she does not where he heart on her sleeve per se. Nobody knows her deepest desires, nor do they know her deepest fears. All they know is that she is sweet, gentle, kind, and very good with animals. She aligns with the dragon imagery of her culture quite well, but she keeps the true reason why as secretive as possible. All the same her people know the truth: that her destiny and her very being belongs to her homeworld and the beasts of its prophecy.

Lighthearted and indicative of her more fun and playful side, Aurelia enjoys spending time in the company of others. She indulges in things that others in the Order raise a brow at. Where others might view drinking soda, driving around all night, playing card games, and dancing like a college kid in a club as questionable and unbecoming, Aurelia prefers to enjoy living life a little more casually than others in the Order might think appropriate.

There are few who hold Aurelia's sense of steadfast hope- or stubbornness. No matter how fraught the situation, how slim the odds, or how grim the circumstances, she never yields. Perhaps the goal is inspire others to stand with her through the worst of things - she is quite outspoken and rebellious when she wants to be. Or perhaps it's simply because she really is just that stubborn. In any case, Aurelia concedes to no outside force. Not man, nor God, nor beast will intimidate her or convince her to back down once she's made up her mind.

⚔️ battle: WW III by grandson ↳ 'Tell me what I'm supposed to think when the bullets start to pour, lie about some greater good when you ship me off to war. Thousand dead on either side, is there no one keeping score? I just wanna make it home when you ship me off to war!'

One of the things Aurelia is ashamed of as a Jedi is the fact that she is not just a general, but a good general. In her mind, Jedi were never meant to be anything more than peacekeepers. But the Clone Wars forced them into a position of commanding armies and choosing who lives and who dies. And she's not okay with that. In the Order, she trained to be a healer. She trained to save lives and improve the quality of those who survived wounds or illness. This whole concept of killing people is against everything she stands for and she despises it. She's deeply shaken by the number of dead she's had to help bury, the wounds of war she's had to heal. She's deeply in tune with and connected to the clones she leads and she does not have the heart to sacrifice them, no matter the cause. She puts herself in their shoes and the devastation she feels as a result of losing them breaks her after every battle.

⚔️ sad: Bad Liar by Imagine Dragons ↳ "So look me in the eyes, tell me what you see. Perfect paradise tearing at the seams? I wish I could escape, I don't wanna fake it. Wish I could erase it, make your heart believe - but I'm a bad liar"

Aurelia maintains a terrible habit of repressing everything that makes her sad. She will constantly tell those around her that she's okay but on the inside, she grapples with these intense feelings of inadequacy and paranoid thoughts that she is a danger to the point where she will drown herself in the anxieties and what-if scenarios, choking herself on the fear she conjures up within herself to the point of literally being unable to breathe during panic attacks and meltdowns. She's desperate to talk it out with someone but she fears the reactions that come from telling her secret to others, and the cycle continues until the point of her breaking down.

⚔️ relaxed: Hymn for the Weekend by Coldplay ft. Beyonce ↳ "You said, "Drink from me, drink from me" when I was so thirsty. Pour on a symphony - now I just can't get enough!"

Giving comes naturally to Aurelia. Few things make her feel more relaxed than being able to help people. Seeing others content and in a state of relaxation also relaxes her. It lets her know that she can set down her blade for a while and enjoy life the way it was meant to. When at rest and truly in a zen state, one might even be able to see flowers and plants blooming around Aurelia where she sits. Birds and other wildlife might perch on her or sit around her for the moment, enjoying the peaceful aura she lets off.

⚔️ contemplative: You Say by Lauren Daigle ↳ "I keep fighting voices in my mind that say I'm not enough. Every single lie that tells me I will never measure up. Am I more than just the sum of every high and every low? Remind me once again just who I am because I need to know"

Identity is a constant conflict within Aurelia. The loss of her home and her induction into the Order, her role as a Jedi and her role as a divine reincarnation, her existence as an individual person and her existence as a dragon goddess - all of these identities contradict each other and create this sense of displacement and confusion within Aurelia. In calmer moments when she's alone with the thoughts - usually after something has happened that requires her to confront them - she's left questioning her role, her place in the galaxy, and even her worth as a person. Sometimes the outcome of this pondering is the realization that she is still worthy of love and can offer the galaxy goodness. Other times, it's just the segue into a downward spiral of her own anxieties and doubts.

⚔️ happy: Here Comes the Sun by the Beatles ↳ 'Little darlin', the smile's returning to their faces. Little darlin', it seems like years since it's been here. Here comes the sun'

Aurelia is naturally very cheerful and optimistic. She puts out a radiant energy that hopes to lift the spirits of those around her. She offers a warmth and a comfort to those in distress or harboring sadness. A hug from her or a some comforting chatter can change someone's entire day. She puts out a more positive energy than she often feels in an attempt to spare others the same heartache she feels. Her love of life and her love of others is genuine, inspiring optimism and joy wherever she can plant the seeds of it. She wants others to be happy and be at peace, no matter how bad things seem.

⚔️ love theme: All I Ask of You by Josh Groban and Kelly Clarkson ↳ "Let me be your freedom. Let daylight dry your tears. I'm here, with you, beside you to guard you and to guide you."

Where romance is concerned, Aurelia questions whether she is worthy of it. Due to the internal struggle of her role and identity, as well as past experiences where her secrets are concerned, she often feels that she cannot adequately connect with anyone. She doesn't feel safe trusting herself to love others in case the beast comes out. She doesn't feel safe developing connections because that would mean having to inevitably reveal her secrets, and she's afraid of the rejection she thinks she'll face. She doesn't want to connect with someone, give them her heart, give them her love, and then face the heartbreak of being called a monster when the beast comes out. She pushes people away for that reason. But all the same, she craves intimate connection. She yearns to love and be loved, she yearns to have a wonderful partner and her own children and a big happy family. All she wants is companionship and family. But she's too afraid to pursue it on her own- not to mention the restrictions on attachment in the Order.

⚔️ breakup / heartbreak: Copycat by CircusP ↳ "I'll become what you like. This is what you wanted, right? Sacrifice all I know - I will teach myself to let go"

Aurelia has a terrible habit of trying to adapt herself in ways that will please others that she cares for. Minor changes might be fine, but that's not what she does. She overexerts herself and tries to morph herself into a version of herself that she isn't in an attempt to please them. She sets herself up to be manipulated and strung along - or she exhausts herself playing the role of someone or something she's not and breaks her own heart in the process.

⚔️ failure / defeat: Monster by Imagine Dragons ↳ "If I told you what I was would you turn your back on me? And if I seem dangerous would you be scared? I get the feeling just because everything I touch isn't dark enough, If this problem lies in me; I'm only a man with a candle to guide me. I'm taking a stand to escape what's inside me. A monster, a monster - I've turned into a monster! A monster, a monster - and it keeps getting stronger!"

The greatest failure that Aurelia feels she can fall to is the beast inside. She fears what the dragon within is capable of, and she fears even more what it might do if she does not maintain strict control over it. If she were to somehow lose her free will over herself and the ability control the beast (as she canonly does when Sutek manages to override her consciousness and use her dragon form as a weapon of destruction), she would actually fall apart and break completely. Becoming that monster that everyone fears is her deepest fear, and seeing that happen during her small moment of clarity where she manages to break free of his hold is what drives her to try and spear herself on a statue of him in the hopes that it will stop the carnage. She doesn't want to be a monster. She would rather die than become a monster, and the reason people suffer.

⚔️ final battle: ECHO by Crusher-P (JubyPhonic, Dj-jo cover) ↳ "the trembling fear is more than i can take when i'm up against the echo in the mirror"

By far, Aurelia's biggest battle is in her own mind. Being the child of prophecy where you're seen as a reincarnation of a god that could fix the galaxy as easily as you could completely destroy weighs on her. A lot. This is not helped by the fact that she has no control over her more divine abilities - like turning into a dragon. The few times she's done it by accident due to uncontrolled emotional outbursts has led to her terrifying people and causing unintentional but massive damage to buildings. She's been called a monster so many times and it hurts her so badly. As a result, the dragon her people view as a blessing, she views as her own personal curse. It's a demon that she sees every time she looks in a mirror and constantly feels like she's fighting with - and she's in a losing battle against it.
