Bumming around Richmond with the Hot Wife. Visited the Edgar Allen Poe Museum (great little museum, nice collection of Poe artifacts) and loved hanging with the museum cats Edgar (lap cat) and his brother, Pluto, as we took shelter from the storm. Then stopped we off in a pub for a warm drink and dessert.

Poe Museum, Shockhoe Bottom, Richmond, 1987.

The high rise in the distance, a state government office building, was new when the photo was taken. That building is now deemed obsolete and is slated for demolition. The Poe museum, by contrast, is housed in a structure built about 1740, and the museum itself is about to celebrate its centenary.

The two of them had so much potential from the moment they met. Poe was one of the first few people to treat Finn like an actual person and even gave him a real name rather than a number. Plus we have the infamous jacket scene where Finn goes to return Poe’s jacket that he pulled from the crash, now that he knows Poe is alive. Poe looks at him and how the jacket looks on him and says “No, keep it. It looks good on you” with a little lip bite.
