okay, so this kind of started as a dead poets society au but shifted into something else-

basically, eddie and steve attend a boarding school. steve because his dad went there before and thinks it's the best for his son, and eddie attends on a scholarship.

steve is the golden boy, because of his connections, and because he's a jock at the end of the day. meanwhile eddie struggles with conforming to the rules but is very passionate about writing, literature and drama

eventually, steve has to participate in the drama club to raise his grades and get some extracurricular that isn't (insert pretentious sport here)

they meet and the chemistry is off the charts and maybe they happen to kiss one night, who knows

for a while they have to keep everything on the down low, because of homophobia or because steve's status whatever- we're talking secret make out sessions in the closet and such

and they both think the other one is just using them to let off some steam, because life is hard and sometimes you need to make out with a hot person to deal

so they pine and they yearn and have a full secret relationship until eventually they confess and BOOM

Katsuki is sprinting before he properly knows what’s happening, caught up in green and redredred and Deku. He skids to his knees, half colliding with Deku as he scrabbles for a good hold on Katsuki’s shoulders.

Scrabbles, because his hands are wet and slippery with his own blood and there’s no traction. His eyes are wide, pupils so huge there’s hardly a hint of emerald, his mouth open with gasps for air, teeth stained red.

Katsuki realizes he’s babbling like the nerd himself. “Fuck, fuck, stop moving, I gotcha, I’m gonna get you out of here, just—shit, just fucking—where the fuck is it coming from.“

Everywhere.

Broken bones shift and splinter further under his clumsy hands. Kacchan has never been the one of them that fixes things.

“D—Izuku, hold on, hold the fuck on, I’m fixing you-“

“Kacchan,” Izuku gasps, body jerking, out of control. Katsuki thinks death throes and then thinks over my goddamn corpse.

“Shut the fuck up, you stay with me, you hear? I swear to god, I am dragging your shitty ass home.”

“Kacchan!”

And Izuku grabs the sides of his face with his blood-slicked hands, yanking him down hard and crushing their lips together. Katsuki makes a noise of protest, muffled. He tastes Deku, ozone and sage, and then he feels it.

Lightning crackling through his veins, making a home in his bones. Pure power, generations of it, flowing easily under his skin.

Tenth.

Katsuki rips away with a short, horrified cry, but it doesn’t help. Doesn’t stop it. Izuku’s eyelids flutter shut, the ghost of a smile still on his face, and Katsuki grabs the front of his uniform before he collapses. He drags him in, cradling him against his chest, letting his blood flow red and red and red over both of them and watching Izuku’s quirk dance helplessly on his skin. Like it can’t settle. Like it knows it doesn’t belong to him. The sounds of battle are ringing all round them; it’s only a matter of time before another attack catches them. The fighting’s not over.

Fuck the fight.

Katsuki staggers to his feet and starts sprinting. Save to win.

credit where credit’s due, i saw a tododeku fic with a similar premise (mid-battle kiss to transfer ofa) which i did Not read bc my first thought was WOW I WANNA WRITE THAT and i dont wanna. accidentally steal too much. so i made it bakudeku and now it’s living in my head

so im pretty excited abt ur abo kp fic which is new to me bc i normally dont care abt abo? this isnt shade or bullshit btw i hope i just wanted to ask how u conceptualize gender and sex in abo? tags on the notfic r 100% right btw more trans abo. im always put off by most abo for the idea that cis male omegas basically?? have a cloacae for an anus but also a dick? it feels too alien for a non paranormal genre. do u think anatomy ought to be addressed more or left to suspension of disbelief?

right straight off the bat we're putting this one behind a readmore, because i don't want to wig anyone out. a/b/o be weird.

essentially, the way i conceptualise a/b/o and how gender and sex work is:

male/female - usually identifiable at birth, with obviously some grey area in there for intersex people.

alpha/beta/omega - surfaces during puberty, at which point the body changes in whichever way the subgender inclines.

i usually write it that it's not really possible to tell how someone's subgender will present until it does, because i think the inherent tension between "this is how i was treated growing up" vs. "this is how people treat me now" gives the most room for social commentary, and character growth, which is one of my favourite parts of a/b/o. so everyone's body has the base potential to go any subgender way.

relatedly, one of my least favourite tropes in a/b/o is the trope where a character unexpectedly discovers they're an omega and they hate it and take drugs to make themselves a beta, and they wish they were a beta/alpha and as a reader i just have to sit there like, and the logical ending to this story ISN'T that they're trans????

in fact, this trope irritated me so much that i fully outlined and started writing an original fic where the main character gets the whoops! all omega! reveal and instead of hating it and hiding it, feels fulfilled and more comfortable in himself, because it enables him to put into words and be accepted for aspects of his gender identity that have existed his entire life.

ahem. omega biology. back on track.

male omegas are one of those fandom tropes that i just... choose not to look at too closely. science brain well and truly turned off. because of how the kinnporsche mpreg fic is structured (porsche not knowing he's pregnant, and not knowing he could become pregnant) -- we're probably looking at assbabies for that one, though i usually prefer to go the male omegas are intersex (and female alphas are, as well) route, just because it makes most sense to me. but -- this is fanfic. things only make sparing amounts of sense 20% of the time.

truthfully, i think the question of anatomy depends on the fic. i do think there is a level of suspension of disbelief that is needed to read a/b/o, but to me that's true of all sci-fi. a lot of genre studies essays on sci-fi talk about this idea of a novum, a point of divergence that makes the sci-fi story different from our world. it can be a thing, an idea, a hypothetical. for example, in mass effect, the novum is the mass drivers. in star trek it's the warp core. in the martian, it's leaving a man behind on mars. and with sci-fi, you're not meant to question the novum. it's the foundational part of the universe. sci-fi is the question, "what if [x] was different?"

so with a/b/o, the novum is, well, it's the a/b/o dynamics. "what if human reproductive biology was on crack?" the bits i'm interested in are the answers that spiral out from that question -- i'm not really focused all that much on the question itself.

but, like i said, it depends on the fic. if the fic's question is, "so, if we do have these a/b/o dynamics, how does the biology actually work?" then obviously it's a bit more relevant. but i've only seen one or two a/b/o fic that approach the matter like that.

AND in tournaments, you're scored not only by how much you beat your opponents, but also in comparison to another table dealt the same hands...

(no but things were tense)

sytry fuses his soul w dumbasses at the timeless temple because fuck you you can't be 72 if im not sytry anymore. loopholes baby. this also overwrites dumbasses origin and he starts to slowly become more and more demon-y as pt 2 goes on. don't worry about that he's fine. but he's really depressed bc his dad (roman) died and then his dad (sytry) became him so he's basically dead and apparently he gave goetia another layer of abandonment issues by.. existing? everything else is too much for one post but its important to know that wodimes fuckery in olympus made the becoming a demon part start entering speedrun mode. in lb5.5 onward he's trying sososososo hard to be normal and its not working and its not working SO bad that vortigern is his best friend like unironically

Does Jiro has ghost like abilities (possession, ability to levitate things, etc etc) or does she just live in Shiro's head?

when i created this au, i thought the best option would be for her to be unable to interact with the physical world in any way(including possesion), beacuse i really wanted to lean into her isolation and how it affects her....... and while thats something i still want to emphasise here, lately ive been toying with the idea of jiro being able to impact the physical world somehow(though it still being fairly limited). i think letting her have some control could have a lot of potential! buuuut i also have no idea what abilities i want her to have lol

For now i think im not gonna give her any telekinetic abilities, bc i feel like it would be giving her too much power......... if she could throw shit, shed go APESHIT with it. it would made things too easy for her. i'm sorry babygirl but i'm NOT giving you the possibilty to throw knives and other sharp objects, i dont trust you to not kill someone:/

i really like the idea of her being able to temporarily posses her old body in certain circumstances tho- maybe when shiros uncouncious?? or like when hes is very tired or heavily injured she can kind of 'squeeze through' and take control back for a few minutes???? idk. i think this could be a very cool ability to give her- it cant be frequently used but can also be very helpful, and also theres so much potential for ✨shenanigans✨here>:) oh god i could put these fuckers in so many Situations with this..........

magic prince au is smth ive alluded to a few times. it’s an akeshu fic i was planning for like a Month before randomly getting the urge to write a soulmate fic & starting discacc instead. & ultimately it was a good thing i did, bc magic prince au is a bit too ambitious for what my writing level was like at the start of discacc, but i still do wanna write it at some point

general concept being kinda like a combination dragon age magic setup / perception formed to fit a persona series elements style. oh also some fire emblem influence lol. just mash it all together

mages naturally born, very powerful & very feared, forced to work for the government or else hunted down. late bloomer akira finds himself thrust into a world of politics he barely understands & sent to learn about his magic at this government sanctioned academy. and oh lookie there, it’s the crown prince, who is Also a magic user (for reasons) and is Public Servant Number One because of it & his specific type of magic (spoiler, he has more than one type of magic, but only one is public).

honestly the concept is just rly interesting to me. just the excuse for me to play around with magic and some Real fucked up themes (like some points of discacc but All The Time). it would be Lots of fun 

All your ninjago art reblogging has hit me hard with a realisation of fucking why do people bother to make Zane black if their gonna just give him the whitest blonde hair and blue eyes. It would be one thing if his hair was dyed but they put no effort into showing that it is, and he still has the brightest blue eyes ever. I get that they like the colour contrast, I get that they wanna show his ice connections, but if you wanna make a character black then at LEAST drop the euro centric beauty standards oh my god.

i do agree that I actually would like to see more of Zane with light hair that resembles actual bleached hair + brown eyes if he's going to be depicted as black.

Though I do think for the blue eyes part it is largely based on him being a robot, so like he's got led eyes that glow blue. maybe I'm not the best person to ask if this is bad or not, but I'm personally ok with this. It's not like ppl are supposed to think that's realistic (they're glowing robot eyes) + if ur depicting the other characters with non-eurocentric eye colors (like please. they're like all asian ....) as it further shows it's simply a robot feature (You can also argue his hair not resembling dyed hair is also bc of robot stuff like. Artificial hair ig??? Idk how I fully feel abt that one though)

but even then he does occasionally don looks where he's supposed to blend in with humans, so blue eyes can be a bit odd for that (in s8 though his human disguise had blue eyes in it... But whatever).

Another thing that would be cool actually for Zane to have light hair + blue eyes is for him to be an albino black guy. I do not see a lot of ppl depict characters in general like this, so it would be, as I said, Cool to see that. Still doesn't mean u can skimp out on making sure his features aren't eurocentric in this one as he's still black here
