Yeah...

That feels fairly accurate. Just add in arthritis, peripheral neuropathy and a few other ouch related maladies and yeah...that's accurate.

it feels like there are bees in my head. nothing feels real and everything feels floaty and not there. moving just makes that zappy feeling worse and i can feel it travel down my spine and into my limbs
i can’t tell if it’s a neurologic thing or a psychosis thing or both

so it turns out that not only are my health issues due to a diagnosis that i was told would be the worst case scenario, BUT i might also have rheumatoid arthritis on top of that. fantastic.

Hey is it bad when your feet constantly fall asleep even in normal positions? Literally I was just laying here and my knees were slightly bent and my feet are now feeling the pins and needles thing when I straightened my knees. This happens a lot..

Hey Mac, I hope this finds you on a good day <3
I was wondering if you knew anything about peripheral neuropathy? I ran into it a while ago when looking up one of my numerous problems and since then have realized it could well explain many of my issues! The issue being said issues started when I was a small child and everything i'm finding with any information I can acrually parse on it is only mentioning things like Guillain-Barre Arthritis and Cancer- things either unlikely in a child of 8 or to last undiagnosed or treated for 20 years.
If you know anything or can point me in a good direction to go on a deep dive about it I'd appreciate it! I hope the rest of your day/night is gentle on you.
hey, thank you <33 this is really interesting & concerning to me because once again information about incredibly common experiences is so hard to come by – i’ve experienced peripheral neuropathy for a couple years which i’m on medication for (duloxetine, generic of cymbalta), and while i haven’t dedicated a ton of research to that specifically, i have definitely come across information when researching other conditions, and basically my understanding is it can be caused by most autoimmune diseases.
probably the first thing most people will think of from the words “peripheral neuropathy” is diabetes, which mostly happens in the feet, i believe due to lower circulation because that’s the case for most foot impairments in diabetics. neuropathy can definitely be experienced in things like (juvenile in your case) rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, lupus, etc, either as a primary symptom or through secondary symptoms-the-medical-establishment-labels-fibromyalgia.
i know a lot of sick/crip spaces encourage looking into small fiber neuropathy (SFN) as well so that may be a starting point for you. an additional tactic i’d probably try if you haven’t already is like, “[something you think you might have],” for example “juvenile RA,” + “neuropathy” in PubMed & seeing where that takes you… again it’s such a common symptom that we really don’t understand enough about but that could hopefully turn up something that resonates with your experiences.
feel free to send another ask or dm me if there’s anything i can do to help! other folks feel free to chime in with suggestions if you have them. best of luck to you & i hope you find something helpful <33

i feel like i can feel every individual neuron in my entire body firing and it feels like thousands of tiny electric shocks everywhere but not enough to hurt. sometimes it is only in my limbs and body and other times it fills my brain.

Many systemic autoimmune diseases impact the nervous system. One of the most common neurological complications of autoimmune disease is peripheral neuropathy, which involves damage to the peripheral nervous system that connects the brain and spinal cord to the rest of the body.
Symptoms of peripheral neuropathy include numbness, weakness, sensory paresthesias, gait imbalance, and pain. They are commonly observed in patients with autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), scleroderma, vasculitis, Sjogren's, and inflammatory bowel disease.

Life's a bitch, then you keep living
My life's Story
Every day is filled with unknowns
will I be Okay today?
will I be sick today?
Will I fall today?
will I die Today?
I never know
It's the most terrifying thing in the whole world
I hope that things will get better
although I have been told that might not ever happen
How can you be hopeful in a world where Iam looked at as useless
In a world where my intellect means nothing
The physical is what I "Need"
I can't run
I can't walk welI
I can't Use my hands well
I can use my brain
I can use my experiences to help others
I want to help others
Sadly, the world does not agree
as I am disabled
I know I said a bad word
One that makes people uncomfortable
I am doomed by something I have no control over
I wish the world saw past my physical
Saw Who I am
They never will though
They only will ever see my disability
Not me
Maybe one day
Sadly Not today
I wrote this poem as a way to get my frustrations out

July is Disability Pride month!
Peripheral neuropathy, a result of damage to the nerves located outside of the brain and spinal cord (peripheral nerves), often causes weakness, numbness and pain, usually in the hands and feet. It can also affect other areas and body functions including digestion, urination and circulation.
There are three types of peripheral nerves: sensory, autonomic and motor. Each can show different symptoms. Sensory nerve damage causes frequent pain, tingling and numbness. Motor nerve damage may cause difficulty walking or picking up items, and moving the arms. Autonomic nerve damage affects more of your involuntary functions, like breathing, sweating, blood pressure and more.

Sorry I've been a lil absent! Health stuff is on a continual decline, and also broke my phone 🤦🏻‍♀️
Few months back started with cramping and weakness in hands and now it's much worse and spreading up my arms so waiting on neuro (which turns out is another 7 week wait and it has started worsening literally day by day now). My hands have all kinds of weird sensations (same as I have had in my legs for years) but much more severe. I'm dropping things, can't hold a knife or fork, and over the past two days it's starting to spread up my arms like I say. I also have increased fatigue, weakness generally all over, almost complete loss of appetite. So who knows! I have left a message with my GP to explain how quick the progression is so let's see if they can get me in sooner to neuro as at this rate I'm gonna wake one morning and not be able to use my hands / arms at all if it carries on progressing at this speed. Having to buy a waist leash for my dog for safety as I've dropped her lead a few times now. No real pain (which instantly makes me think I'm overreacting even though I know I'm not really) more like aching and when they cramp that's painful and bruises immediately (same for my calves with cramp and bruising). So I have no idea what's going on. And weirdly enough with all my medical history I've actually NEVER seen a neurologist which feels really bizarre, so I'm quite excited in that sense that it's someone new. I wouldn't say I'm worried just yet, but I'm definitely aware of this all being new and "not right"
I'll add some things in the tags with similar symptoms to see if anyone can relate!
