Fia is a Tarnished called to grace without having first experienced death, which may be something of a rarity. Melina tells us some of Marika's words across 2 different churches, the Third Church and the Church of Pilgrimage:

My Lord, and thy warriors. I divest each of thee of thy grace. With thine eyes dimmed, ye will be driven from the Lands Between. Ye will wage war in a land afar, where ye will live, and die.

Then, after thy death, I will give back what I once claimed. Return to the Lands Between, wage war, and brandish the Elden Ring. Grow strong in the face of death. Warriors of my lord. Lord Godfrey.

That indicates that Tarnished get their Grace back only after dying. The opening cinematic does a little to corroborate this. Hoarah Loux is impaled by arrows, the Dung Eater is being hung, and Gideon Ofnir is in his casket. Goldmask is a little more ambiguous, but given the others are dead, and the way he's sort of splayed out on the ground with his prayer book and other items in disarray around him, it seems like he could have fallen dead abruptly.

Fia is the only one that is unambiguously alive. She is sitting up, actively looking at the sight of Grace, and she tells us she was exiled from home for seeing it. So it's very interesting that she is very devoted to and at peace with death, when she may be one of the few Tarnished to never have died to begin with.

#in this drawing i wanted to use the song ‘Square’ by Mitski #personally i feel like this song is about being in love and trying far too hard to be the perfect lover that you are incapable of being #to me it’s like trying to see where you fit in that person’s life and not knowing where you belong in it #but then you’re still longing for that feeling of belonging there with them #so you self-destructively go to great lengths to ‘earn’ your place with them #i feel that the self-destructive behavior of trying to be that perfect lover just to ‘earn’ their love #is exactly the ‘burning’ that Mitski describes #it hurts trying to fit in but not quite succeeding again and again and again...#this is something that i think i relate to #trying far too hard to belong with someone who is 'only sometimes madly in love with me'#and says that i 'wouldn't be their first choice'#-that person kept switching between wanting me as a friend and a lover and now i am neither #and yet therein lies the problem: if i cared less and gave less effort #perhaps we could’ve worked things out without me trying too hard to “earn” their love #but why would i ever try to care less?#the situation was doomed from the start and i lost a friend in the process #i made this illustration to reflect that the best i could. I think the square motif was particularly obvious—#the canvas itself is a square and the illustration itself has to fit in a square box #everything else i drew would have to fit within this box to maintain the “order”#the colors are all some type of blue with not too much contrast except for the text eyes and teardrop on the figure #i wanted to keep contrast low within this illustration— everything should be “fitting in" after all #for the figure itself i wanted it to be clear that the figure is being forced into that square #its body’s being forced into that half of the box and even then its head is forced downwards #it’s clearly not fitting comfortably but it’s sure trying its hardest to #also also also!!! i wanted to do more angular shapes with this drawing because square and whatever lol :P #i don’t think i was particularly obvious in communicating that in the drawing though #but anyways i just wanted to draw to help process something that happened to me a while back :0 #i still think i love that person but just like how i don’t have a place in their life #i don’t think they have a place in mine and i think i’m starting to make peace with that :D #jaevyart

Ehi, there is something I wanna ask about your "Monarchy Restoration", now that Dream is back to George's side (in the future), what it means for Dream's alliance with Technoblade? Is the Syndicate going to be a problem in the future? And, what about The Plan? Is Dream going to follow his plan anyway?

ooh interesting questions

I do want to tackle both of these at some point, hopefully by the end of the year (at least one of them anyways)

his alliance with Techno is strained to begin with - much like in canon, Techno told him to hand the armour back and get lost, so we can't exactly speak of close allyship or regular cooperation. that being said, there is no hostility between the two either, and I really want to do a comic where Techno comes investigate Kinoko Kingdom and their activities (rivalsduo banter included) - it's why I did the concept art of MR!Techno a couple months back to begin with, I was working out some stuff around their meeting at the time

Techno's visit might be prompted by Niki who's a neighbour to Kinoko (which would mean I have to design Niki for this AU and the mere idea excites me) and there might be a comic about a syndicate meeting? it would certainly be an interesting one to draw, though straying a bit from following just the Dream Team, which is who the AU is centered around. maybe I could just do a singular painting and give it some flavour text lmao

as of some spoilers: Techno promises to stay out of the way as long as Dream promises to behave and keep an eye out on George and his kingly ambitions. for now they're chill though and Techno makes sure to tell Dream that he's proud that he finally got himself a house

as of The Plan! that will be tackled only way, Way later. for now Dream needs to recover, and despite what he wants to do, George and especially Sapnap are keeping a close eye on him so he can't do much until he wins them over, or until he figures out how to remove them (which is a lot easier said than done. the dethronement was already difficult.) the end result, though, will be George and Sapnap teaming up with Dream and Punz and things get put in motion, with a few adjustments to accomodate for the very particular relationship each member of the dream team has with DXD - that is, Sapnap revealing the death book, and George is far from free of XD's influence (which, again, needs a bit more screentime)

given that Punz's introduction won the comic polls, this part of the story should be introduced soon, though it will come in multiple parts and might drag a little bit

and well, all things said are tightly tied to Dream restoring George's kingship, which is something you can look forward to, too :)

Another modern/real world and canon crossover idea because I love that sort of stuff so much. In the modern world, ten year old Sabo is a lonely boy who hates the rich family he was born into. One day he managed to go explore all by himself, and in an Alice in Wonderland fashion, he fell down a hole… and found himself on an island called Dawn island. There he meets two brothers named Ace and Luffy… who had recently lost their third brother Sabo.

throughout the series of drake and josh it pretty consistently implies that josh nichols is a christian (josh peck is jewish) and in the finale of the series helen (played by yvette nicole brown, not jewish[?]) is portrayed as a practicing jew

#i dont have a problem w either of those things necessarily i just find it interesting #if i had to guess. drake and josh was a mainstream that didnt wanna touch on religion generally #but josh was kind of a dork and usually when josh's religious beliefs are implied it is in dorkish ways #such as praying and thanking the lord after he has his first kiss.#but since dan schneider is jewish perhaps he wanted to make helen have a jewish wedding in the finale?#not that there needs to be a reason. but u do notice occasional jewish-related jokes in d&j but none of them are what you could call #offensive. in good faith that is. 'eric is a pacifist' 'i thought he was jewish?' like come on #text post #i have been rewatching drake and josh recently and i have had so many thoughts #im almost done. i just have left that stupid dance episode that they premiered last for the stupid reason #of a special dance-themed premiere night in fall 2007. they premiered the third episode of icarly and a new zoey 101 on the same night #which i think is so stupid. they should've aired really big shrimp last. it messed w my understanding of the series at the time lol #i remember not really knowing that the show was ENDING. like i knew icarly was starting & miranda was doing that #i thought really big shrimp was like just another special like go hollywood.#and then like two days later they premiered the helicopter episode for some reason #and i was like why is drake not famous in this. he just had a number 1 song in a superbowl commercial #and then a month later the dance one. which. if anything is satisfying about that as a final episode it's just that #that unnamed girl from the blues brothers episode who is obsessed w drake shows up again and congratulates them #and the very final line of the series is 'who is she?' because. because really who IS she?#that's a funny enough throwback to wrap things up with i suppose #drake and josh wasn't a highly serialized show so i can see how they could air those after the intended finale and act like it didn't matte #but i have to tell you it did fuck with my brain a bit at the time. lol. i still think of those episodes as having 'happened' after #and on paramount plus those episodes are still placed after really big shrimp. the injustice #but thats kinda messy. what a weird way to end such an influential and popular sitcom #season 4 had a few lowpoints while still also having some VERY solid episodes.#idk. ill have to continue my series review another time im getting way too longwinded here #helen dubois is jewish

i've been thinking about this since you asked for brainrot.

you and foul legacy childe have been at war for what seems like ages, now. who knows what started it? it's been years, and you don't think anyone really remembers why anymore. hell, you don't even know why you're still fighting. it's been so long.. and the fluffy moth boi before you, darting to and fro, desperately trying to dodge your attacks and catch you off guard is covered in blood. just like you.

your thoughts are scattered when you feel a sharp jab at your side and hiss in pain. you were too distracted, too lost in thought, and now you were injured. perhaps badly. you pressed a hand against the wound, trying to suppress the bleeding. in retaliation, you dart forward, trying to get a jab in, to make him pay for what he's done to you, when suddenly something changes.

he's no longer aiming at you anymore. you've memorised his moveset perfectly by now, and you know that it's changed. you can't quite figure out what, though -- at least not until he finally wins and knocks your weapon out of your hands, sending it spinning across to the other side of the building. what he does next leaves you speechless and confused. he tosses his dagger down, no, he throws it across the building, near yours.

and then your eyes meet. you can see the tiredness in his eyes. the exhaustion creeping in. and you don't miss the way his breaths come in short pants as he tries to catch his breath. i'm fine, you think to yourself, unaware that you're exactly the same. you're too busy realising the toll that this battle has taken on him. realising that all the years of sparring and dueling to the death has tired him out.

childe purrs softly, trying to let you know he means no harm, before roughly managing to say, "let's end this. i'm done. i'm tired of this. do you even remember why we're fighting? it's been too long, you're no match for me, and i'm no match for you. please, let's just.. end this."

your face softens as you watch his soft furry body crumple to the ground. and for the first time, you realise that you too, are exhausted. you make your way over to him and settle down next to his body. ".. fine by me, i suppose."

hey *sits down next to you* this is amazing. i love it so much

when you finally, finally sit down for the first time in years, relief floods through your aching body. so much so that you nearly tip over and collapse into Childe's sharply armored and very comfortable looking lap, but you resist. you've been fighting him for years, even if he says he's tired, he's still your enemy.

isn't he?

pain suddenly sparks in your side, and you let out a gasp. you forgot that you're still injured; even if the fighting stands still, blood still flows. it hurts, and you press your palm firmly against the wound, wincing when the pressure makes it flare angrily. but you haven't any medical supplies with you, nothing to clean or wrap it in.

it was supposed to be a duel to the death, after all.

vaguely you hear a whimper beside you, and claws brush against the hand clamped over your injury. you flinch and push yourself away from the gentle touch, away from Childe, because you still don't trust him. don't trust the Harbinger, no matter what- that's what you were told.

Childe purrs again, the same low sound from before, "hey, i'm not going to hurt you..." he trails off, but the words unsaid hang in the air.

i won't hurt you, not anymore. you hope he knows you feel the same. this time, when he reaches towards the gash in your side, you stay still and watch him carefully move the edges of your ripped shirt aside. he's so gentle, touch light over the stinging wound, barely even touching you. your own eyes trail up to Childe's body, just as bruised and battered as your own, and you raise your hand to wipe at a cut on his face.

Childe stills, as do you. then without a word he leans into your touch, a soft rumble laced in his blissful exhale when you slowly rub your thumb across the unmarred portions of his cheek. you swear you can even hear him humming some song as his eye slides shut, delighted at your touch despite how your fingers are calloused and scarred. when his claws begin kneading at the edges of your shirt, where there's no skin for him to break, you finally crack a small smile.

"guess we're each other's company now, huh?"

Seedling is such an interesting little story that i love, but i´d be lying if it wasnt almost completely sprouted (hehe) from the visual of those character duos that are a small child + big scary looking creature who acts as their guard, top tier trope frfr

(also huge shoutout to @ashrayus for hearing me out and adding onto the rambles so long ago, bestie the robot story wasnt working, we got plants now 🌱)

Do Max and Dex count I love them and I feel like I'm approximately 80% of the Helix fandom rn lol

Doug Peterson and Russ Frushtick from Law Abiding Citizen - the fandom has gotten real quiet over time but I still love them so much ♥ There's a lot you can read into or leave silly with their dynamic, I still wholeheartedly recommend the emerge, transformed series as one of my favourite interpretations of Russ especially 💕

The Editor from Jazzpunk - he's just a silly little guy! It's honestly such a shame that he's only really in the last chapter, I would love to see him explored more, he's the worst ♪

Tatsumi Souichi from Koisuru Boukun - genuinely one of my all-time favourite characters, and The Only Good Tsundere as far as I'm concerned lol. I'm gonna write about him! I've got my fanfic and video essay sitting in my drafts, but like agh!! He's so interesting!!! So beautifully flawed - he's internally consistent which is my Favourite - and watching him grow and change while still being himself over literal years has been a truly unparalleled experience as a reader 💖

Luke Wigglebig and Florette from Pajama Sam: You Are What You Eat From Your Head To Your Feet - I joked before about being the only person on the internet who ships them but like, I'm pretty sure that's actually true lol. Even just more fanart of them by themselves would make me happy, they're so cute!! Especially Luke, his design is adorable

And then probably a more well-known one but I haven't been following his fandom popularity lately haha, Fai D. Flowrite from Tsubasa - him, Nova, and Watanuki move in and out of being my CLAMP faves, though Fai is probably the most complex of the three of them. And he's a trash man! A garbage fire of a wizard ♥ I love him

so i think... currently, my favourite TP is probably fred vasseur. i like the way that he's businesslike and no-nonsense (and doesn't try to say "EVERYTHING IS FINE IN THE STATE OF FERRARI" like certain other TPs 💀) and i like how he seems to be managing the team/drivers - yes, it's only been one year and we can't know much yet, of course, but the gist i get from articles and interviews seems really positive overall. he also hasn't made any absurd claims to the media or started any really controversial feuds, and on the whole he just seems... nice? nice, and fair. and that's all one could ask for, tbqh.

also? i just really, really like the way he seems to love charles <3333 🫶
