To celebrate the lovely art of horror gaming, myself, alongside @sstewyhosseini have decided to host a gift exchange of sorts. You will create a fic or art that you would like your partner to make something based off of and in return you will make something for them. The exchange will run around 9 weeks. 4 weeks to create your fic/art and 4 and a half weeks to make your gift. If you have any questions don't hesitate to DM me here or on discord. Sign ups under the cut. Reblogs would be much appreciated
RULES:
Both OC x canon and canon x canon ships are allowed here. If you aren't comfortable working with OCs, feel free to let me know.
But you don’t have to submit a ship either! Platonic ships or single character pieces are allowed too.

To Outlast Even Death (Following In Your Steps) Chapter One: The Difference In Mates
Tumblr media
Happy Steggymas, @3pirouette I'm lucky enough to get one of my favorite authors! I went through so many ideas before landing on this one! I tried so, so hard to come up with an idea of lumberjack Steve because I still firmly believe he needs to exist. This is not the first chapter I wanted to be posting either but after the first editing, my muse was speaking a different story. Fun fact: Before this soulmate AU, I had another AU written for you that was not close to even being done and it is already up to 8k. Part of me wants to post that too.
Soulmates may be a dying magic but Steve and Peggy are determined to prove that their bond can outlast even death.
"Steve, darling, you should be asleep. Santa won't stop by if you're not asleep."
Sarah Rogers chuckled to herself as Steve pulled his face away from the window, sheepish about having been caught. He snuggled back under the covers, casting one last look at the foggy window before she pulled the curtains closed.
"But I'm not sleepy, Momma," Steve sighed in the over-dramatic reason kids always did, pouting. "Can you tell me about soulmates again? Pleaaase? It always puts me to sleep."
Sarah Rogers chuckles as she combs her son's sweat-soaked hair from his forehead, making sure he is as comfortable as a sick bed-ridden child could be. His cheeks were flushed from the fever, eyes struggling to fight the medicine in his system and stay awake so he could hear a tale he'd heard a hundred and one times before.
Tonight would make for a hundred and two, she guessed.
"Alright, colm beag [little dove]," she sighed, leaning back against the wall. "Humanity is strung together by that invisible red string, fated couples to be bound by their souls. They feel the connection, even if they're unable to see it. They're called-"
"Soulmates!" Steve squeaked, giggling as his mom tickled his neck.
"Very good, Colm Beag - soulmates. Bound together by their heart, fated to be together for reasons only the universe knows and she's not too keen on telling her secrets. She plays a cruel joke, Miss Universe, not making it simple for the bonds to meet and know one another. Some people go their entire lives without finding who's at the end of their string."
"What sorta..." Steve trailed off, yawning loudly and rubbing his face sleepily into his momma's side. "What sorta stuff do they have to do to be bonded?"
Sarah hummed for a minute, listening to Steve's sleepy breathing. She thought he had fallen asleep until she heard his questioning noise, drawing a chuckle from her. "Actions that prove that their souls are compatible, bound to one another. They say that bonding with their mate - an action so incredibly rare, that their bonds can outlast even death."
Thanks for the event, @steggyfanevents!

Just saw an Outlast secret Santa event that prohibited gore unless specifically asked for (this is a survival horror game, keep that in mind), uniforms from problematic factions even if it's canon to said characters backstory (so don't dress your canon Nazis like Nazis, I guess), and Pedophilia and Incest content; both of which are present in at least one of the games (Jessica and Father Loutermilch in Outlast 2, and Eddie Gluskin's backstory from the Whistleblower DLC to Outlast 1. There are likely more I'm just not remembering).
Y'all, this is literally exactly like that fucking Interview with a Vampire Zine that prohibited basic shit featured within the canon material.
"Waa! Waa! don't post gore in our event about one of the goriest fucking video games ever! Waa!"
Oh my fucking Gods; here's an idea! If you can't stomach content that is, not only featured, but a staple point of the show/book/movie/video game/etc. you're trying to run an event for, maybe just don't bother running an event for it? 'Cause you look like a complete fucking idiot.
For anyone who has never played an Outlast game; there's a scene in the first game's DLC where a guy tries to saw your dick off to make you into his wife.
Immediately before this, there's another scene where you find two corpses mutilated to mock the moment of birth by having one of their heads sewn onto the crotch of the corpse meant to be the mother.
And this is just the DLC for the first game! But, hey, can't be havin' any gore in our secret Santa event, right?

Hi there, @pudding-ish, I’m your Outlast Secret Santa! (ღ˘⌣˘ღ)
I hope you’re having a wonderful holiday season!
This is a short little thing, but I hope it’s something you’ll enjoy! One of your suggestions was something recovery focused, and while this isn’t quite that, it’s more so Miles on his way to being alright again directly after the events of Outlast but before those that take place in Outlast 2. I don’t want to say too much, but there’s a surprise at the end because I know you’re a fan of Blake. #GiveMilesUpshurFriends2k18
Miles doesn't understand what's happened to him until after everything is said and done. He remembers hearing Wernicke speak as he lay on the floor in absolute agony, clinging to life with eight fingers instead of ten, but the words don't make sense to him until he's standing on the front steps of Mount Massive. He knows now, as the swarm disperses around him, and a cold sensation settles in the middle of his chest behind his ribs, wraps around his lungs and heart, that he and the Walrider will not part. He's become the host of something bigger than him—something he still doesn't understand despite the documents he's read.
The realization makes him feel sick to his stomach, but he swallows down the budding nausea and it's not like he has anything left in his stomach at this point to throw up anyway. Stepping forward, he takes the stairs two steps at a time; he briefly mourns the loss of his jeep as he deviates from the road and its path leading down the mountain and enters the forest, crisp leaves and twigs crunching beneath his boots.
It's only a matter of time before Murkoff is swarming the place and he really, really doesn't want to be caught in their crosshairs, and if not Murkoff, it'd be local law enforcement. Either way, he doesn't want to be seen, and hiking down the only road leading to Mount Massive is a good way to be seen.
The trek down the mountain is long, a couple of miles—negligible by car—but by foot in uneven terrain it takes time. Exhaustion is creeping up on Miles, weighing heavily on his shoulders, his bones bruised and aching, and when he comes across a small stream, he takes a moment to sit down beside it and just… breathe. His eyes are closed, his head tilted forward, chin almost pressing to his chest, when he hears the telltale wailing of approaching sirens in the distance.
Took them long enough, he thinks.
He opens his eyes and catches a glimpse of his reflection in the water. He looks like shit, his shirt shredded from bullet holes, and the white of the fabric has long since given way to burgundy. He looks like one of the homicide victims from one of those dime a dozen cop shows. It makes him want to laugh because he doesn't think that description is too far from the truth, and he does laugh, laughter bubbling to life in his throat, and as he does, he doesn't think anyone else would find it as funny as he does.
Miles covers his face with his hands, his laughter dying down, and realizes he hasn't thought this through. He can't walk to his motel looking like this—it'd raise alarm, catch people's attention, and that's the last thing he wants to happen. He finds himself moving on autopilot, dunking his hands into the stream's cold water, and hisses at the sting coming from his missing fingers. He ignores the pain because he's experienced worse and the stinging pales in comparison. He washes the blood from his hands and arms, and then he's shrugging off his jacket, attempting to clean the green leather of blood as well.
It works, kind of, sort of, not really, but it's enough because it has to be.
He shakes it a few times to dry it before putting it back on and zipping the front in an attempt to hide the mess that is his stomach and chest underneath. He still looks worse for wear, questionable at best, but so long as no one looks too close, they hopefully won't notice the dried blood on his jeans or in his hair or anywhere else.
Surprisingly enough, when he reaches civilization, what people that are out and about seem to keep their distance. He gets a few strange looks, but no one approaches him; he prefers it this way, and what catches his attention, more so than the mother not-so-subtly pulling her son closer to her body as he walks past, is the dog an older man is walking. It's not very big, some kind of chihuahua mix, but despite its size, it snarls, snaps, and all but barks its head off at him.
Miles pauses, and the older man is rapidly apologizing as he pulls on the leash, chastising the dog all the while in between apologies. Miles offers a nod in acknowledgement and starts walking again (he can still hear the dog barking as he rounds the corner and his motel comes into view). As much as he wants to brush the encounter off as the dog must've been unfriendly, and he got too close, there's something about how it was looking at him that tells him that isn't right.
He decides not to dwell on it as he passes a woman smoking by the no smoking sign outside the motel. She looks like she wants to say something to him but doesn't. He reaches his room, fishes his keycard from the back pocket of his jeans, and is thankful it's still there along with the memory card he retrieved from his ruined camera before leaving Mount Massive. He pushes the door open and steps inside, closing it behind himself with a loud thud.
For the first time in too long, Miles feels safe.
The room is dimly lit, not much sunlight coming in through the lone window by the door, and the relative darkness is starting to make him uneasy. That's an easy fix, however, and he flips the switch by the door and the room is illuminated an awful yellow. He can't complain, though, because the room is cheap, and he got what he paid for.
He stands there for a few moments before he's moving, grabbing the duffle sitting on the floor beside the twin sized bed. Inside it is a change of clothes and other essentials; he wastes no time stripping because he wants out of these clothes yesterday and as much as he wants to shower—needs to shower, honestly—he doesn't have the time and has to move.
On the table is his laptop, still plugged in, fully charged by this point. He knows if he opened it and logged in, the email from the whistleblower would be there, staring back at him as he re-read it before he left. He pulls the charger from the wall, not caring about being careful, and shoves it and his laptop into the duffle bag on top of his dirtied clothes. Cursing under his breath because he should've done this first, he fishes for the burner phone is sitting at the bottom. After finding it, he slings the duffle bag over his shoulder, and he's out the door.
The outside air feels colder, somehow.
Turning on the burner phone, he scrolls through the contacts there, dials the third number from the top, and then says, "Hey, Blake."
He knows he's going to be okay.

Heart Of The Darkness
This was a Secret Santa that I never posted for @Nikki!
Rating: Mature Characters: John | KryozGaming/Jaren | SMii7Y, Eddie Gluskin Tags: Outlast, Panic Kisses, Secret Santa Warnings: Violence, Minor Character Death, Creepy Motherfuckers Words: 2,135
It’s only when John turns around, looking as though he’d been in a dozen fights and is still ready for another, that Jaren feels hot tears spill over reddened cheeks.
“I’m sorry, I’m so fuckin’ sorry! Are you okay? I—No, you’re not okay.”
{Read here on AO3}
Three simple words keep Jaren quiet. They repeat like a broken record, a mantra that increases with every blood-curdling scream and fresh wave of iron-laden air that floods the damp room. He’ll return once the exit is clear. Shaky hands flatten against rusted metal, taking comfort in the cool chill as he peers into the gloomy area, straining to see human-shaped demons in the shadows.
“Darling!” a sultry voice crows from the right, singing sweet lullabies.
‘No, fuck, not him.’
Every muscle tightens, lungs clenched and breath held, but frantic eyes refuse to close. Pleading cries respond to unnervingly saccharine words. A dull thump preludes a sobbing groan, hoarse and crying with desperation as nails scrabble against moldy tiles.
“What did I say about keeping your stress levels down? No child can be borne like this.”
The stomach-churning memory of mangled bodies cut apart and sewn together, a mockery of a carrying woman, has Jaren silently gagging, a palm covering his mouth and nails cutting into his cheek.
They should never have come here. ‘Abandoned’ mental asylum, his ass! No power doesn’t mean the crazies inside are gone.
“No, no, no, please, please!”
“I warned you and you didn’t listen!”
A wet squelch spills into the air, Jaren choking at the possibilities. His eyes grow wet, face turned against his torn and muddied sleeve.
“Oh?” the man purrs, a childish laugh bubbling beneath. Jaren freezes, swallowing and peering between the metal slits of the locker. “Have my followers… brought me another bride?”
He’s a deer in headlights, a hare hypnotized by a stoat, a hen frozen in fear of a fox. Fingers twitch, useless when his arms can’t even push the door open.
He has no chance when a body slams against the front, jostling him within. Manic eyes stare back at him, lips pulled into a grin. Can’t breathe, can’t scream, can’t move.
“There you are, dear! The perfect gift after… a terrible tragedy.” Yeah, tragedy. He can only imagine the leftovers, the body slit and covered in gore and blood, still warm. Something metal tracks across the front of the locker. “But don’t worry, I’ll fix you up, make your body a welcoming vessel.”
Voice cracking, he lets out a shaky, “Fuck you.” A crazed laugh echoes through the grotesque room, head thrown back as he smacks the rusty locker. Barely illuminated, he looks like a dirtied man from the mall, covered in blood and grime, bowtie falling off. Palms sweating, Jaren smacks his hands against the door, only for the rattle of metal to trap him within. “Let me out!”
“Nooo, no, no, my love, I can’t let you out in this state, you’ll only hurt yourself!” Blood pounds within his ears, rushing like a torrent, an uncontrollable stream. Jaren slams his fist harder against the metal, the growl in his throat fading into a desperate whine.
He’s not getting out of here alive.
A blade scrapes across the locker, barely glistening in the light shining through the window. Jaren shrinks away, knees buckling, ducking down from the slits in the door. He’d rather not have a scalpel in the eye.
“Now, I don’t want to ruin your perfect body,” he begins, voice dropping with warning, “but I will if you keep fighting me.”
Tongue dead weight, Jaren swallows and scrunches his eyes shut. ‘Where is he?’
“Why would I fight you?”
A coo spills forth, hair standing on end and spine rigid. “Much better, sweetheart,” he hums, taking a step backwards. Metal scrapes again on the locker, hinges squealing and revealing the crazed man’s horrifying appearance. It takes every single ounce of self-restraint to stop from running, hands shaking and gaze darting, searching for an escape route. “Look at you, the perfect vessel, don’t you think?”
Jaren’s stomach twists over itself, tightening up like a knotted rope. A shake to every word, he whispers, “Okay.” His stare lingers on the blade in the other’s raw-knuckled grasp, the weapon raising when he takes a shaky step forth.
“You want this, don’t you? Want to become beautiful, to pave the way for our loving family.”
‘No,’ he thinks, ‘I want to leave with John.’
He refuses to let this psycho know of the other’s presence. Fingers crossing behind his back, Jaren hopes to at least have his body recovered before it’s mutilated beyond recognition like the corpses of earlier.
“Okay…”
The hand against his elbow has him jumping, strung taught and on edge. “Come, my love, I’ll show you the way, the truth…”
Movement catches his eye, moonlight glistening against silver.
Jaren snaps his gaze away, movements slow and steady, gaze tracked onto the blade. He needs to get the weapon away, get the scalpel out of his white-knuckled grasp, so John has a winning chance. They won’t get out of this alive if this fucking maniac still has his weapon.
He stumbles.
The man’s face twists into a grimace and he lunges.
Jaren yelps and finds himself slammed backwards against the wall. His head pulses, skull smacking against the tiles as metal stings at his throat.
“Wait!”
“You scared me, darling, you shouldn’t try to escape like that,” he pants, leaning in closer. Nostrils flared, dark eyes soak in his appearance, leaning closer. His stench alone has Jaren swallowing bile, flinching at the hand caressing his cheek. Shaky hands grab hold of the man’s elbow, struggling to keep him at bay, to squirm his way to freedom. The blade digs into his throat, bringing him to a halt as a strangled cry spills forth. “Maybe it’d be better if I just cut out your voice box. Wives are supposed to be seen, not heard.”
Frantic, Jaren rushes to say, “I’ll be quiet, I’ll be quiet, please, I promise.”
There’s a flicker of movement over the man’s shoulder.
Jaren looks for a moment too long.
“What—”
The man twists in time for a grazed elbow to slam into his unsightly face, flinging him aside.
Jaren jumps away, grabbing his own throat, feeling a thin line of blood beneath his palm.
The stumbling form snaps his head up, scowling and frothing with broiling hatred. “How dare you—”
“How dare me?” John spits, backing up and glancing over a shoulder at Jaren. Upon realizing the other isn’t in immediate danger, he glares at the crazy man and huffs, “Stay the fuck away from him!”
“You can’t come between us!” he shouts, posture menacing and looming. The blade in his hand draws attention like a magnet, dragging their eyes towards it as he flicks the weapon within gnarled fingers.
Jaren flinches when the man steps closer, hip bumping into a table laden with jars of intestines. A whimper slips out, capturing both of their attention for a split second.
John positions himself between them, shoulders hunched and fingers clenched, shielding Jaren. The blade raises. John flinches, balancing on the balls of his feet, teeth clenched and eyes narrowed.
“No, no, nothing is as strong as… as the bond we form—”
A boot slams into the man’s shin, dragging a shriek from raw, bloodied lips. Jaren’s head whips to the side, spotting a door and quickly running towards it. He freezes in the crooked doorframe, looking back, spotting John grappling with the bedraggled man, mouth pulled back into a sneer. The silver scalpel wavers, tip nicking at John’s clothing, held back like a snarling dog.
No warning, the man yanks himself away, pulling his arm free, only to slam the blade downwards.
A scream tears free of Jaren’s hoarse throat, the metal sinking into John’s arm, drinking rich scarlet blood.
Wild eyes scan the room, flicking between the garishly cut body on his right to the mess of broken furniture to his left.
Jaren latches onto a metal rod, breath rapid and uneven, yanking it free from the wooden debris.
No hesitation, he runs closer and swings, a sickening crunch filling the air as it connects with the man’s skull. He tumbles to the side, leaving John scrambling free. When he freezes up again, staring at the blood already dripping from the damage he’d caused, John takes the weapon from him and wastes no time in bringing it down directly on the deranged man’s neck.
He falls to the ground and goes limp. Air slides free from rattling lungs as haunted eyes grow dull.
‘Oh god.’
Jaren hiccups, eyes locking onto John, on the fucking handle still embedded in his bicep. Tears well within green-blue eyes, brows furrowed and lips parted. “Your arm,” he gasps, stepping closer, hands raising, only to freeze when he realizes he doesn’t know what to do.
A yell reverberates through the dusty air, a low growl following, filled with hunger and desperation.
John grabs him by the elbow, already yanking him away. It doesn’t matter where they’re going, as long as John’s with him, they’ll be fine.
They’re red-faced and panting by the time the shouting dies down, inaudible. John shoves them both into a shadowed room and slams the rattling door shut. A metal cabinet serves as the perfect blockade, stopping any unwanted visitors from entering their makeshift safe room.
It’s only when John turns around, looking as though he’d been in a dozen fights and is still ready for another, that Jaren feels hot tears spill over reddened cheeks.
“I’m sorry, I’m so fuckin’ sorry,” he whines, stepping closer and staring through bleary eyes at the weapon still in John’s arm. “Are you okay? I—No, you’re not okay.” Every inch of John is tensed, frozen as he keeps glancing at the door, breathing through his nose. He flinches at the hand on his shoulder, finally meeting Jaren’s watery stare. He’s still ready for a battle, on edge, antsy to keep them both safe. “Fuck, John, your arm, oh god…”
“It’s fine,” he grits out, still standing there with a doctor’s scalpel sticking out of his sleeve, careless of the blood soaking his shirt. Jaren’s instincts are screaming to run, to get away, John’s a threat. But every other part of him is desperate to help, to ease his pain, make him better, and repay his kindness.
Jaren takes hold of his good arm, leading him towards the unsteady table against the wall. “Let’s just… fix it up, yeah? Make it better. We can fix this—” A loud crash from outside has John jolting, pushing himself to his feet, despite Jaren’s attempts to get him seated. “It’s fine, they can’t get in, let me—”
“They’re close—”
“Don’t worry about them—”
“How can I not worry when they’re—”
“You’re bleeding!”
“I can make more blood.”
Fingers snatch hold of greasy hair, snapping John’s gaze towards him for long enough that he can press a desperate kiss against his bloodied mouth. The wildness in his eyes fades, returning to his familiar stare.
Jaren relaxes his hold, eyes flickering to the side.
“You can’t make another you,” he counters.
John licks his lips. “What was that for?”
Jaren backs up, mouth twisting to the side, failing to hide his embarrassment. “You weren’t listening and I—” He swallows. “I’m scared we won’t get out of here and I just—I just wanted to, just once, sorry, I shouldn’t have…” The silence that ensues has Jaren’s fingers itching, staring at the blade which, now that he looks at, isn’t all that deeply embedded into John’s arm. Swallowing, he clears his throat and says, “Let’s get this—”
“Better be more than just once.”
A frown embeds itself on Jaren’s face, blinking at John. He’s met with surprising determination.
He doesn’t even ask before John’s explaining, “We are getting out of here. That better not just have been a once off haha joke.” Jaren doesn’t have a response to that, letting slip a confused little noise followed by an awkward laugh. When he says nothing else, John asks, “You gettin’ this knife outta me or what?”
“Wh—Yes! Yeah, hold on, I…” Jaren fumbles for a moment before shedding his overshirt, figuring it’s cleaner than anything in this place. “Can you—” John grabs hold of the scalpel and yanks it out, a grunt and hiss following. Crimson spurts out, seeping quickly. Jaren gasps and hurries to wrap the fabric around the wound to stop the bleeding. “Fucks’ sake, John.”
A bloodied hand against his chin has Jaren freezing, allowing his head to be tilted upwards until he can meet the other’s gaze. “We’re gonna get out of here,” he states firmly. His hold shifts, resting against the side of Jaren’s face. Warm concern and conviction replace the earlier rage. “We will, I promise.”
The knot of unease wrapped vice-like around Jaren’s heart unwinds, loosened by trust and belief. On his own, no, he wouldn’t believe that, but with John here…
“I know we will.”

Hispanic/Latino horror movies
In honor of Hispanic Heritage month, this week we talked about horror movies out of Latin American and Spanish speaking countries. There were some we couldn’t get to so here is the full list:
Spain
The Devil’s Backbone (2001)
Rotten Tomatoes: 92%
Audience Score: 89%
Google Score: 85%
IMDb: 7.4/10
Critics Consensus: Creepily atmospheric and haunting, The Devil's Backbone is both a potent ghost story and an intelligent political allegory.
Description: “Set during the last years of the Spanish Civil War, The Devil's Backbone is a Spanish gothic horror movie that follows Carlos, a young orphan boy who is deposited at Santa Lucia School among several other children who have been displaced by the conflict. Though he finds friends in the professor and the head mistress, he is plagued by a wandering spirit with a link to the violent caretaker's secret past.”
Trivia: The movie, which he wrote in college and was in development for 16 years, is strongly inspired by Del Toro’s personal memories, especially his relationship with his uncle, who supposedly came back as a ghost. It is also included among the "1,001 Movies You Must See Before You Die" edited by Steven Schneider. Although filmmaker Guillermo del Toro is Mexican, this film is set in the Spanish countryside (largely filmed in Madrid) that’s why it’s on the Spanish list. The Devil’s Backbone has all of the impactful elements of spirituality, horror, and the supernatural that come up again and again in Del Toro’s work. This film has been referred to as the “brother film” of one of Del Toro’s best known works, Pan’s Labyrinth.
[REC] (2007)
Rotten Tomatoes: 89%
Audience Score: 82%
Google Score: 85%
IMDb: 7.4/10
Critics Consensus: Plunging viewers into the nightmarish hellscape of an apartment complex under siege, [Rec] proves that found footage can still be used as an effective delivery mechanism for sparse, economic horror.
Description: “Late-night TV host Angela and her cinematographer are following the fire service on a call to an apartment building, but the Spanish police seal off the building after an old woman is infected by a virus which gives her inhuman strength.”
Trivia: The movie was filmed chronologically in real locations (no sets were built for the movie). The actor’s were never given the script in its entirety and didn’t know what was going to happen to their characters until the day of filming. The movie is also a big inspiration for the horror survival game Outlast.
Considered The Blair Witch Project of zombie movies, REC had a lot of competition in the found footage style (it came out the same year as George Romero’s Diary of the Dead and the first Paranormal Activity movie). It more than holds its own among them, so much so that an American remake called Quarantine came out the next year. Director Jaume Balagueró keeps the movie disturbingly real and doesn’t fall prey to jump scare after jump scare.
Veronica (2017)
Rotten Tomatoes: 88%
Audience Score: 49%
Google Score: 80%
IMDb: 6.2/10
Critics Consensus: A scarily effective horror outing, Veronica proves it doesn't take fancy or exotic ingredients to craft skin-crawling genre thrills.
Description: “During a solar eclipse, a teenage girl and her friends want to summon the spirit of the girl's father using an Ouija board. However, during the session she loses consciousness and soon it becomes clear that evil demons have arrived.”
Trivia: Based on the true story of 18-year-old Estefanía Gutiérrez Lázaro. I won’t go too far into it because we may do an episode on it in the future but if you want spoilers, watch the movie (if you dare).
Directed by Paco Plaza (same as REC), the possession theme is done over and over again in horror but this movie is a terrifying and fresh take.

Directed by Álex de la Iglesia, it’s labeled as a horror-comedy. You can watch it on Netflix.
Who Can Kill A Child? (1976) - Tells the story of a happy couple, two English tourists who decide to vacation on a secluded island in the Mediterranean. There they discover – almost too late- that the island has been taken over by a group of murderous children.
The Baby’s Room (2006) - Featured on Six Films to Keep You Awake at Night. A new family renovates and moves into a grand old house. Nervous first-time mom installs a baby monitor but hears mysterious sounds on the other side. Once they install a high-tech video baby monitor, what they see chills them to the bone.
Sleep Tight (2011) - Apartment concierge Cesar is a miserable person who believes he was born without the ability to be happy. His self-appointed task is to make life hell for everyone around him, a mission in which he has great success. It has big home invasion/stalker vibes.
Timecrimes (2007) - A man accidentally gets into a time machine and travels back in time nearly an hour. Finding himself will be the first of a series of disasters of unforeseeable consequences. It sounds like a “Happy Death Day” type of plot (but proceeding it by a decade).
Thesis (1996) - Angela is doing her thesis on the effect of violence in the media when she discovers a snuff film. This discovery leads her down a dark path where she must confront her greatest fears and question everybody around her.
Witching and Bitching (2013) - One article I read said it perfectly, “What Shaun of the Dead did for zombies and What We Do in the Shadows did for vampires, Witching & Bitching essentially did for the cinematic depiction of witches, albeit on a less visible scale.” Great pick if you’re looking for something a bit more lighthearted.

Pan’s Labyrinth (2006)
Rotten Tomatoes: 95%
Audience Score: 91%
Google Score: 90%
IMDb: 8.2/10

While his family resides in the countryside, he leads his men on a murderous rampage, much of which is witnessed by his step daughter. In an effort to escape her reality she plunges into Pan's Labyrinth, a mystical world at the border of her own.
Trivia: Guillermo del Toro is famous for compiling books full of notes and drawings about his ideas before turning them into films, something he regards as essential to the process. He left years worth of notes for this film in the back of a cab, and when he discovered them missing, he thought it was the end of the project. However, the cab driver found them and, realizing their importance, tracked him down and returned them at great personal difficulty and expense. Del Toro was convinced that this was a blessing and it made him ever more determined to complete the film. Del Toro also repeatedly refused offers from Hollywood producers, in spite of being offered double the budget, provided the film was made in English. He didn't want any compromise in the storyline to suit the "market needs" (he even did the English subtitles himself). The film received 22 minutes of applause at the Cannes Film Festival and in 2007, it became one of the few fantasy films ever nominated in the Best Foreign Language Film category at the Oscars. It’s another on the list "1,001 Movies You Must See Before You Die" edited by Steven Schneider with The Devil’s Backbone. It was on more than 130 top 10 lists in 2006. It is also the 5th highest grossing foreign language film in the US.

The Silent House (2011) This is in English
Rotten Tomatoes: 43%
Audience Score:
Google Score: 72%
IMDb: 5.3/10
Critics Consensus: Silent House is more technically proficient and ambitious than most fright-fests, but it also suffers from a disappointing payoff.
Description: Sarah is working with her father and uncle to renovate an old family home to prepare it for sale. Long vacant, the house has no utilities, forcing the trio to rely on battery-operated lanterns to light their way. Sarah becomes separated from her relatives and soon finds she is trapped inside the cabin, with no contact with the outside world. Panic turns to real terror as the young woman experiences events that become increasingly ominous.
Trivia: Elizabeth Olsen (Wandavision) The plot is based on a true story that occurred in the 1940s in a small village in Uruguay. Contrary to the marketing's claim that the film was shot in one uninterrupted take, the entire movie was actually shot to mimic one continuous real-time take, with no cuts from start to finish, as a result the time span of the film's plot is exactly 86 minutes. It was shot in roughly 10 minute segments then carefully edited to hide the cuts.
Night of the Living Dead (1968) - This along with the rest of the Dead series are the work of George A. Romero, whose father is from Cuba.
Ash vs. Evil Dead - I love the Evil Dead movies and although this series wasn’t perfect (I’m sure die-hard fans will say it's far from it), I still think it kept to the heart of the main story. Bruce Campbell is obviously perfect and the addition of Lucy Lawless is amazing, it’s really Puerto Rican actor Ray Santiago that steals the show.
The Others (2001) - Directed by globally renowned Spanish director Alejandro Amenábar, The Others starring Nicole Kidman is a Spanish gothic horror movie that combines elements of the supernatural, psychological, and mystical. It focuses on the strange events that occur at the estate of a woman and her young children, plagued by spirits in the aftermath of WWII. It has the distinction of being the only English-language Spanish movie to be given the Best Film Award at Spain's national film awards, the Goyas. In total, the movie has seven Goya Awards, including for Best Director. Although it might not read as particularly “Spanish,” it was produced, written and filmed all in Spain, shooting in Cantabria, Northern Spain and Madrid.

EPILOGUE
With Tía Magdalena’s guidance, Josefina gained the skills to become a respected curandera, taking over her aunt’s practice. When she wasn’t healing, Josefina could be found playing the piano or doing handicrafts. She married and had a Big Happy Family, passing the curandera tradition down for generations. Mariana remained her best friend for life.
Shortly after Papá and Tía Dolores’s wedding, Ana, Tomás, and their boys moved to Santa Fe. Abuelito set out for Missouri, leaving Tomás in charge of business matters. Things went smoothly and Abuelito was full of stories when he returned.
Papá and Tía Dolores had a couple of sons, the oldest of whom inherited the rancho years later upon Papá’s death. Francisca finally stopped handing out squashes to rejected suitors and married Roger Rexford, a saddle maker from Missouri*, spending much of her time studying the newest fashions from Europe and the United States. She learned to become patient with sewing and was known as a talented seamstress.
Patrick O’Toole remained a faithful trading partner to the Montoyas and Romeros, and no one was entirely surprised when he ended up marrying Clara. Though he had originally been attracted to Francisca, he quickly realized that Clara’s practicality would be better for a lifetime commitment.
The 1820′s were the beginning of massive change in Mexico. As American traders continued travelling the Santa Fe Trail, families of settlers came with them, and land rights became highly contested. Growing dissatisfaction with the Mexican president Antonio López de Santa Anna escalated a decade later when Mexican and American residents of Texas took up rebellion, leading to the massacres at the Alamo and Goliad in 1836. Though they were further west, the Montoyas were concerned about what these events would mean for the rest of Mexico.
After devastating losses, the rebel forces started seeing victories. The U.S. took control of Santa Fe in 1846. Josefina’s nephews, Antonio and Juan, both fought for the United States during the Mexican-American War and then went to California after gold was discovered in 1848. In 1854 the Gadsden Purchase bought more land in the Southwest for the U.S.
As the American Civil War broke out, New Mexico sided with the Union and the citizens of Santa Fe found themselves in the cross-hairs in early 1862, especially in the battle of Glorieta Pass. They managed to outlast the Confederate forces, and the newly formed New Mexico regiments turned their attention to the Navajo, relocating them to an army fort in 1864 in what would become known as the Long Walk. This distressed Josefina as she remembered Tía Dolores’s servant, Teresita, the Navajo woman who had taught her how to weave and had since passed away.
New Mexico and Arizona were granted statehood in 1912, 64 years after the end of the Mexican-American War.

It was nearly 10pm but the night was as lively as ever with people bustling and weaving along like the small stream that flowed through the middle of the stone-paved walkway. They strolled down the worn path on which thousands of footsteps had passed before them, their breaths lingering in the December air as they laughed together and whispered soft wishes. The harsh bite of winter never deterred couples from coming  out to the walkway; in fact, many lovers used the cold as an excuse to clasp each other’s hands tighter, to press their warm bodies closer together. Even on the harshest nights, the walkway welcomed a handful of couples who would stay until the early hours of the morning.
This could, in part, be attributed to the walkway itself, or rather what could be found on the walkway. Anyone who stepped along the trodden path would soon find the walkway’s source of life and warmth: a flower stand. Now there were many walkways with flower stands, some even host more than one stand, but none ever seen like this. Even in the middle of winter, the humble stand teemed as though it were early spring with its variety of soft pink tulips, vibrantly purple violas, dainty white snowdrops, and daffodils so yellow they nearly glowed. Each flower was in almost unnaturally pristine condition-- there was never one droopy petal or dried up leaf. Rumor stated that if you bought a bouquet for your significant other, your relationship would surely last a lifetime, outlasting the winters that you might endure.
Jihoon, of course, knew that this was all a very elaborate marketing scheme to lure out crowds of hopeful couples. While he didn’t have a green thumb himself, he figured that technology must have advanced enough to allow for such beautiful flowers to exist despite the cold, but he wasn’t all too invested in finding out the how’s and what-for’s of the small stand. As long as it brought out the crowds, Jihoon couldn’t care less if the stand scammed naive romantics into throwing away their money for some flimsy symbol of everlasting love. What mattered to him was finding an audience, and he knew, without doubt, that he would find one here. He could already feel the lingering eyes of passersby as he arranged his amp and microphone, filling him with a bubbling anticipation that made his fingers itch for his guitar.
Despite the tattered appearance of the case, the guitar within seemed to be lined with gold along its edges, gleaming fantastically under the light of a street lamp. Upon closer inspection however, it was apparent that the instrument was well-worn with its own array of scuffs and scratches along the neck and body from its many years of performance. The guitar fit into Jihoon’s hands as if it were molded to be held by him, and he smiled to himself as he strummed each string to check for tuning. Just like that, he felt home.
“Do you always have to set up so close to me?” At the sound of your voice, Jihoon felt his grin widen, and he immediately looked up to make sure that you saw it in all its smug, cheeky glory. You stood to the side with a pair of stem clippers in hand, which he might have found intimidating had you not been holding a daffodil in the other. The endearing smile that itched at the corners of your lips didn’t do much to scare him either.
“This is where all the foot traffic is, so yes,” he mused teasingly. He then pointed to the flower in your hand. “I see you’re getting ready to shower me in flowers after my performance. People usually throw roses though, you know.”
“Okay, just don’t let it get of hand this time,” you said over your shoulder, already turning back to return to your flower stand. He didn’t dare look away, because on your third step back, you always twirled to face him for a moment to flash your unfaltering smile at him, which he mirrored.“The whole neighborhood must have thought you were having a concert with all the people that came out.”
“That wasn’t my fault!” he called after you, but you had already returned to your post, greeting several new customers who looked at your bouquets with awe and wonder.
As you began to gather flowers for a couple’s request, you could hear Jihoon finally open his set with a healing, energetic tune that had the small crowd clapping along to the beat. The first time he had come out to the walkway, it had shocked you how the first note he strummed had immediately taken a hold of you, how it had somehow melted your concentrated frown into a smile with ease. It had been the end of a long day and you were ready to close up shop when a boy had set up for a busking session nearby. Although he only brought one small amp, you felt each note resonate in your chest, and felt the music brush your skin as though it hung in the air like a mist. Suddenly, thoughts of your stressful day had dissipated, dissolved by the boy’s guitar and clear, pure voice. It was unlike anything you felt before.
And yet, it was so easy for you to give in to the enchanting sensation, falling into its embrace like you were reunited friends.
Now you anticipated the way the melody gently tugged your lips into a smile and how your heart beat seemed to fall into rhythm with each chord. You knew you weren’t the only one so strongly moved by the music though. The customers you were currently tending to, a young couple new to the walkway, had immediately turned their heads towards Jihoon as he continued his set with another lighthearted tune about confessing and butterflies. Their sparkling eyes told you that you weren’t the only one moved by Jihoon’s music, and you couldn’t help but notice how they subconsciously reached for each other’s hands, fingers intertwining fondly. Much to your concern, a wistful sigh escapes your lips at the sight. Your eyebrows furrowed as you felt a dull ache blanket over your chest.
You tried shaking your head to rid yourself of the feeling, rushing to finish wrapping up the flowers in brown paper and string. “Your bouquet is ready!” you said much louder than intended, snapping the couple from their daze. Both blinked in surprise at their clasped hands as if just realizing how close they’d gotten, and you bit back a giggle when they could no longer meet each other’s eyes. Much like many of your other customers on the nights that Jihoon busked, they immediately joined his audience after paying, unable to get enough of his sweet voice. You stared after them for a bit, feeling somewhat intrusive as they overcame their initial hesitance and held hands once more. And suddenly it was there again: this time it felt more restless like you were waiting, but for what, you didn’t know.
It wasn’t the first time you felt this way.  In fact, every time it creeped up on you like this, it frightened you how it settled in the pit of your stomach so effortlessly as if it had made a home there, deep inside you. It made you feel like you had been waiting for tens of thousands of lifetimes. Like you had been waiting so long that you forgot what you were waiting for.
At this point, you weren’t sure if you wanted to remember.
Throughout your life, the weight in your chest had made itself known only a handful of times, usually in quiet moments when the dark felt like it could swallow you up. It was the reason why you took refuge in the bright hustle and bustle of the walkway and why you lingered if only to be surrounded by your flowers. But now, it followed you even in the middle of a crowd, in the midst of the music.
“Hi! Could I get some roses?” The voice of a new customer finally tugged your attention from the couple, allowing for the pressure in your chest to dissolve for the moment.
“Of course you can, sir,” you chirped, relieved for the distraction. “What color?  Would you like a bouquet?”
The customer, who stood alone, seemed to wiggle in thought. “Red, I guess! Don’t worry about wrapping them up! I’ll just take them as is, since I’ll be throwing them to that busker over there.”
“Oh! Wow, he must have made a real fan out of you, sir.”
At your statement, he let out a chuckle. “Oh, for sure. I wish he chose a warmer venue though.I guess that can’t be helped,” he said, giving you a meaningful nod, eyes gleaming as they always seemed to. You were taken aback by the sudden realization: You’ve met him before.
“Right,” you replied absentmindedly, forcing yourself to focus on gathering the last of your customer’s order in an attempt to mask your bewilderment. You were positive that you had never seen this man’s face in your life, yet you were struck with the insistence that not only did you know him, but that he knew you too. He was there, somewhere in your memory. But the closer you tried to get, the further you seemed to step into a murky fog; was it a far away memory or was it just a dream? Chancing a glance at him only served to fluster you even further, especially with the way his smile made you feel as though he could sense your inner bewilderment. You cleared your throat and timidly returned his smile as you handed him his roses. “Anyway uh-- here is your order, sir! He’s about to play the last of his set, so you should probably get over there. Hopefully he likes them!”
“Oh, I’m sure he will love them,” the customer grinned, placing cash in place of the flowers. “Well, I’ll see you around!”
And with a quick wink, he made his way to join Jihoon’s audience, and once more, you were left to deal with your thoughts on your own. What was it with the customers and launching you into emotional reveries tonight? You decided that that was a good excuse as any to close up shop for the night; you weren’t sure that you’d be able to handle another bout of deja vu or inexplicable longing. Plus you wanted to properly watch Jihoon’s last song, as you always did. You glanced over at him as you cleaned up,  but you were quick to avert your gaze when he suddenly met your eyes and offered you a wide grin.
As much as you enjoyed his music, you couldn’t ignore how his appearance in your life coincided with these recurring feelings. It was perplexing how it seemed that with one strum of his guitar, he somehow brought you both comfort and simmering unease. But if you were being honest, you couldn’t say you hated it. You knew that if you asked him to set up  a little more upstream, your flower stand would undoubtedly become your haven once more. It was an easy fix. Simple. But even when his weekly busks frequented to every other day, you only found yourself clutching tighter to that moment of elation when he began a performance.
When you stood there and listened to him play, you had a growing certainty that you would go through any length of suffering if it meant you could keep that moment.
Jihoon was barely able to sing his last note when the crowd drowned him out with applause and, to his surprise, showered him in several roses from the stand. He caught one in his hand, eyes shining with laughter as he immediately searched for your face. Instead of finding you though, he caught sight of someone that wiped the smile from his lips. Before he could so much as curse under his breath, the man took hold of his microphone and addressed the audience.
“Bravo, bravo! Ladies and gentlemen, please give another round of applause for Woozi, Olympic Entertainment’s feature producer! Woo!” the man boomed a little too close to the mic. “Olympic Entertainment sincerely thanks you for all of your love and support from this past year. We hope that you can continue supporting us and listening to Woozi’s ballads in this upcoming year. Please be on the lookout for his new single that we will be releasing on New Year’s Day!”
As the crowd erupted into murmurs and whispers, the man turned to beam at Jihoon, who replied with a stare as cold as the wind. “Soonyoung, what are you doing here?”
“The boss wants you to stop screwing around and get back to the studio,” Soonyoung said with a shrug.
“I’m not screwing around! You know damn well why I came out here--”
“Hey, those were his words not mine-- I’m just delivering them.” Jihoon tensed when he felt Soonyoung’s hand on his shoulder, having half a mind to shrug it off. He knew though, that Soonyoung had little choice when it came to the boss’ word, and neither did he. There was no use in taking out his frustrations on his friend, especially when the damage was already done. “You know that I would never have taken it that far if I didn’t have to.”
Jihoon sighed, nodding. “I know. I’ll just see you tomorrow.”
Tumblr media
The crowd gradually dispersed as Jihoon packed away all of his equipment, and suddenly, he felt the full force of winter without the warmth of the crowd shielding him. He hadn’t expected that it would be so cold. After his previous busk sessions, several people in the audience would stay a while longer and approach him, usually to make conversation about his music or to simply thank him for the performance. Now they kept their distance, looking his way discreetly while they whispered about who he really was like he couldn’t hear them. Jihoon scoffed and slammed his guitar case shut, numb fingers fumbling at the clasps.
“Are you okay?” He didn’t have to look up to know that it was you.
“I’m fine,” he huffed out, jaw clenched. When you didn’t make any move to leave, he gave in and looked at you, a grave mistake on his part. At the sight of your sympathetic smile, he sat back down on the bench; there was no use struggling to put up a front when you seemed to see right through it anyway. You sat on the opposite end of the bench, facing him to show that you were there to listen. After all those times he came here, this was probably the closest you’d ever gotten to him, and yet Jihoon found himself wishing you had sat closer. “Well, I’ve been better.”
“I’m sorry that I sold that guy those flowers. If I had known that he was going to do that, I--”
“No, that was all on me,” Jihoon said quickly, unable to let you apologize any further when you were merely doing your job. “You probably think I just came here for some promotional stunt.”
“I mean I didn’t, but now that you mention it…” Without knowing it, Jihoon let out a chuckle at your teasing.  “Even if it was for promotions, I don’t think anyone here would mind. Plenty of people busk to promote themselves. I don’t think that makes their songs any less genuine.”
He shook his head, the sigh that left his lips hanging in the air for a moment. “I mind. I love my job and everything, but I really needed a break from all that extra stuff. I came here because I knew it would just be about the music. No one had stopped to listen because it was my music or if it was a Woozi production or whatever. They only listened because they liked it. Now I won’t know if that’s actually the case.”
“I don’t see why they can’t enjoy your music while knowing who you are,” you said, eyebrows scrunched together, and Jihoon watched as you rested the side of your head against the back of the bench. Have your eyes always been this captivating? You dropped your voice to a stage whisper. “Is that your secret? Is your music magical only for those who don’t know your true identity?”
“Something like that. Isn’t my music a bit more impressive if I’m just a regular person and not a professional producer?” Jihoon laughed. “I mean, imagine if people knew the secret behind how you grow your flowers in the winter. Don’t you think they’d be less inclined to buy them?”
You snorted. “I don’t have a secret, though?”
“Oh come on, you literally sell springtime flowers in the winter! You must get them imported or have some kind of fancy greenhouse.”
“I literally can’t even rent a space to sell my flowers indoors. I can’t afford any of that! They’re just flowers that I’ve grown in my garden. I tell people how I grow my flowers all the time and it doesn’t change anything. It still means something to them,” you said insistently. And then, softer, “Just like how knowing you’re some big shot producer doesn’t change the fact that I’ve never heard music like yours before.”
Jihoon swallowed, wanting more than ever to close the distance between the two of you. It was a gravity that he felt ever since his first performance, something he had originally attributed to the walkway and how perfect it was for his busks. As he sat here beside you though, the force seemed to tug at his chest almost painfully until it was aching. With his hands clenched, he tore his gaze away from you, unsure of what he was going to say next. His thoughts were fuzzy, like a static television screen going in and out of focus, and the only image he could make out was you. Or at least he hoped that it was you.
“By the way, ballads? I’ve only ever heard you play happy songs.”
“This was the only place I could play them,” Jihoon replied quietly. When his eyes met with yours, he was taken aback by how much he meant it; even if he tried to play these songs in the studio, he was certain that it wouldn’t be the same at all. Forcing a smile, he finally met your eyes again. “It was nice while it lasted.”
“Wait, are you not… are you not going to come back anymore?”
“I don’t think I should. There wouldn’t be any point, right? Since people know who I am now.”
“Oh.” I still don’t know who you are. This time, you were the one to turn away from him, a small frown on your lips. A harsh wind came in then, ruthlessly rustling the bare branches of trees and lifting loose petals from the ground around your stand. They swirled in the air wildly for several moments before raining down on where you and Jihoon sat in silence. Seeing how he shivered, you took the scarf off your neck and wrapped it around his own. “Here take this.”
“W-what about you?” When he moved to return the item, you shook your head and smiled.
“I’m used to the cold.”

The Crimes of the Groom
Part 1: Take Me Home
Prequel to my fic "The Arrest of the Groom". This fic touches upon the subject of Eddie Gluskin pre-Mount-Massive, how he commited his first serious crimes and what drove him to do this.
And is she the first one to escape the hands of the Groom?
Warnings: Implied Rape, Kidnapping, Eddie being crazy, usual Outlast warnings
The first time Eddie kidnapped someone, it was an accident. He hadn’t thought of taking her home at all. But once he realized his DNS was all over her body and the police could find him like this… Well, he had to take action. He grabbed hold of her unconscious body, carrying her out of the dark alley he had lured her in. Before they would be seen in the open, Eddie hid his face as well as possible and straightened out her clothes. It should appear that she hadn’t been…
“‘Ey man, that chick doing okay?”, a drunken fool passing by the two hollered out, drawing Eddie’s attention to him.
“Yeah. Just had a drink or five too much. Gonna get her drunk ass home.”, Eddie laughed and lovingly patted her ass.
“Good man”, the drunk held up a ‘thumbs up’ before running into a street lamp, laying on the pavement while the world was spinning around him. Eddie shook his head and let him be - nobody should find out what he did.
Putting her into the car was easier than he had previously anticipated. His Hyundai Santa Fe, 2007 had been at good use when he had to transport questionable things and people before, with its tinted windows and high doors. Eddie gently placed his victim on the backseat, where she promptly drooled onto it. ‘Gotta wipe that one away later’, he thought, ‘Too much evidence’.
The house Eddie lived in was an hour and a half away from the main streets of the city, the suburbs where no one would suspect someone to have a chamber in their basement of the garage. At first, he had used the chamber for various sexual plays. This was where he came with those sluts and whores who sold their bodies for the pleasure of men. This is where he killed his first victim, and the stench of blood still lingered in the walls.
The chamber of secrets was hidden behind a mahogany closet with a tiny dent on it. Pressing on the dent revealed the stairway down into the basement. The small hall ended with two doors - one led into his “secret chamber”, the one on into a room with a single cooler. In the cooler was the body of his only victim as he hadn’t found another way to get rid of her yet. Sometimes he liked to open the lock and look at her - oh, she could have been so beautiful if she hadn’t threatened to get the police involved. Too bad, little one.
In the other room he had a bed surrounded by a see-through curtain, giving it the feeling of a honeymoon suite. But the walls were pure cement, a toilet and a sink by the wall. The light bulb was going on and off at irregular intervals, but Eddie had no interest in replacing it. He placed her body on the bed, tucking her in. She looked so peaceful, the face of a fallen angel. Eddie leaned in, kissed her forehead. Maybe she would make a good wife and mother? Only time would tell if she deserved the fruits of his seed or the blade in her stomach.
Eddie stepped out of the room, locking it twice. He’d get her something to eat and drink in the morning. But now, all he wanted to do was sleep. Tomorrow would be an exhausting day. He dragged himself into his own house, locking the garage door twice too. Eddie’s house was a small and sweet one. He stepped into the small hall, on the left was the living room, on the right the kitchen along with a winter garden to sit and relax in. Under the stairs was a small bathroom - the previous owners had been british, so the faucet was separated into hot and cold water. The 2nd floor was made for living, sleeping, relaxing. One of the many rooms was his bedroom. A queen sized bed, its headboard against a wall. The bedroom was clearly made for two people to sleep in, but Eddie hadn’t found his plus one yet. His closet mainly consisted of black suits, black shoes and many white shirts. The few other items in there were clothes for working out, a pair of grey sweatpants and a few ‘casual’ shirts. Eddie took off his suit, placing it on the space he had reserved for the dirty clothes. Once a week, Eddie washed everything that had become dirty over the week. One day a wife would do this for him, but today was not that day.
There were other, unused rooms on the 2nd floor. Two more bedrooms and a large bathroom. The bedrooms were empty, ready to be used once a child is on the way. But not yet. The bathroom was breathtaking. Marble counters, a large bathtub. The water was warm only, because Eddie thought he deserved only the best. And his wife would only get the best once she stepped into his life. A heater provided enough warmth once he’d step out of the bathtub.
Eddie sighed, putting on his pyjamas as his alarm clock on his nightstand made a quiet ‘tick-tock-tick-tock’ again and again. Falling asleep would take its time tonight he thought as he rested his head on the silky sheets, grabbing his phone. With a simple wipe and a few presses on aps, every single lock in the house snapped into its lock. All the cameras around and in the house were turned on, ready to notice every little detail. Eddie took a quick look at the basement where the girl was in. She was still sleeping, putting Eddie’s mind at peace. He’d deal with her tomorrow. He’d open his shop a bit later, would say he had an appointment somewhere. Eddie put his phone on the charger, watching one last youtube video before he’d fall asleep. Just a few minutes shy of midnight, Eddie placed his phone on the nightstand after setting his alarm for the following day. He’d make her pancakes and maple syrup. Maybe a cup of chocolate milk if she asked nicely. But that was for tomorrow. And today, all he had in mind when he fell asleep was how good her pussy felt wrapped around his cock.
