whats the plot??? we have over ten years of plot atp and i am not very good at presenting this kind of DATA, but they truly do have such a narrative

it’s me again ! first off, wonderful chapter as always—you know well that I love your writing, and it’s no wonder that so many people are as passionate about this series as you are because … hello … your writing is so fucking good?!!? I READ ONE WORD AND IM LIKE “ohhh purrrr okay” like your word is fact and IT IS FACT. but I really liked how the chapter just focused on the 🧡 domestic 🧡 of it all, and it was just the sweetest chapter. I loved it so much. I especially LOVED the rain content I got in this chapter, that’s my man my man my man and the whole time i was likee shitttt 🫦🫦🫦🫦🫦 when we got a lil spicy. You write spice scenes beautifully by the way, the way you incorporate the intimacy of it, the chase of pleasure, the love the characters feel for eachother is something i eat UP. and i am going to be so for real when i say the way he (presumably) spoke to the reader, the way he was like “you are beautiful.” and it was so like. raw. and vulnerable and it was so *true* i deadass wanted to cry

I feel so much love for rain as a character, the GHOULS, in general and this story just strengthens my love even more—it personifies it actually; the only difference is that if the ghouls ever took me into the pack i wouldn’t question it at all and infact i’d fully believe i was in paradise already actually i would be like “oh you wanna ?? you wanna have a lil sleepover where everybody gets naked and sleeps next to eachother and just loves? shit im down lets go!” i just. i feel so much love for them. they give me so much comfort, and your story gives me so much comfort—i love binging this series because it never fails to make me happier:) that one part where rain was just kissing the reader and they were just being all lovey dovey put me in my feelings because oh my goshhh i wish i wish i wish !!!! I love phantom and rain they’re my lovies. I hope we get more scenes of all three of them (reader, phantom and rain) where they’re all just cuddling and being happy and giggling and kicking their feet cause that woild heal me. ALSO CIRRUS. no mention of ifrit 👁️ it worries me to an extent. cuz wdym copias showering ALL of the ghouls. wdym you can hear ALL of their shouts of disobedience. that is NAWT. all of the GHOULS. Where is IFRIT. is he okay. i am worried . i hope hes alright. i hope the shack is homely. i hope hes okay. :( im a big softie.

overall, this chapter REVIVED me. it gave me the motivation I needed to lock in and start reviewing for my upcomign exams. (next week bleh) it gave me LIFE. even. it gave me a good SKINCARE ROUTINE. It gave me ALL OF THE MONEY FROM ITS WALLET. it gave me NEW CLOTHES! I really loved it, truly. You are blessed with such wonderful writing ability—and i hope to see more:D the next chapter will be like a reward to me; much needed after i slave away studying for my several exams🕵️‍♂️ for future reference, i was wondering if we could ask you more questions about the story and some scenarios about it? like for example, “how would the ghouls react to the reader who, upon realizing they were being integrated into the pack, was very happy and actively integrated themselves into the packs routine” or something like that? i like to pry and prod at characters, test their limits and all—also, I hope you know that in actuality, the fact that you’re writing stories so good that I cannot help but send you reviews of the chapter, is the best part for me, myself. I'll start by saying that you can ask all the questions you want, request headcanons, scenarios, and anything else you'd like. No problem at all, especially since I've just finished the fourth page of chapter 17 (18 for AO3), so I'm really nearing the end, then I'll start working on what's coming next.

Both headcanons and scenarios, whether connected to HUITS or not, are welcome. You (all) can spam more than one request, even better, so I have more choices on what to do first and what to do later :P

That said! It's pretty obvious by now, but I'm really a sucker for the domestic. I'm a country girl, and the sexiest thing someone can wear is flour. Additionally, I quite like relating the fact that before Copia, the ghouls were in close contact with the sisters (besides being social), so they're not at all stressed by the change.

Regarding the spicy scenes, thank you for noticing HAHA. Actually, there's a fundamental issue (which is that I'm a lesbian), so I don't find the idea of a very explicit scene particularly moody or exciting. On the contrary, the overall vibe seems almost tastier than the act itself. I mean, the action is the same, but if the person changes (or the ghoul in this case), all the attitudes around it change. Phantom is awkward, shy, 100% a “missionary because he can both hold your hand and look you in the eyes” type. Rain is more desperate, more needy; he doesn't care about physical contact but wants the visual because he wants to be seen as the "cause" of your pleasure. Dew, on the other hand, would probably keep your head in the pillow because he hates eye contact and doesn't want vulnerability during intimate moments. It's all more frenetic, more intense.

The dish is the same; the presentation, the seasoning, and the sides change.

Regarding the bit where Rain looks lovingly at the reader, I swear I wanted to hit him with a metal bar (affectionately, of course) because he's truly in love. It's not just physical need; it's a need he feels almost in his veins to be yours.

You're so right about the reactions. My two beta readers laughed so hard at the part where the reader hesitates to undress because it's these little things that make it clear I'm not projecting myself but structuring a character (I live undressed; I probably would have been naked before everyone else, to be honest).

Based on this review, I feel like telling you that you'll like the next chapter. One of the requested things is in there. Not Ifrit, but to understand why Ifrit was saved but doesn't appear, I think you'll have to get to the last chapter. The first chapters were introductory, but the plot started from the first trip to the ministry. For now, I don't think anyone understands what's happening. Even though the story is from your point of view, some things will only make sense in the final two chapters (including that poor beast).

But I promise you he's okay! I haven't listened to the song yet, though, because I haven't written for a month or two, so I waited to get back into the vibe before listening to it.

so I went to a listening party (meaning I couldn't hear Taylor very well) so I got home and listened to the album and. well. here's how that went in pure, unfiltered thoughts.

Welcome To New York - the intro melody sounds so much better oh my god. And the voices sound so much more distinct from each other in the chorus!! Especially the melodies. Oh and the lower “welcome to new york” in the second verse oh my god. The way the bridge fades into the chorus is so superior here. AND HER “WELCOME TO NEW YORK!” IS SO CUTE

Blank Space - the mastering on this is amazing?? Makes it feel like she’s singing this in a big ass room. THE DRUMS IN BOTH EARS?? It sounds like starbucks lovers even more now I’ll be so real. DARLING I’M A NIGHTMARE DRESSED LIKE A DAYDREAM. DON'T SAY I DIDN'T WARN YOUUUU. The ad libs are superior.

Style - oh I LOVE that guitar so much. Did they give the echo on Style to Blank Space?? Not mad about it though, the harmonies are so clear here. OUT. OF. STYLE! I’ve been there too a few times…ah. Her vocals are just so good on the ad libs guys. JUST TAKE ME HOME!!

Out Of The Woods - THE DRUMS?? HELLO??? THERE’S A HIGHER VOICE IN THE CHORUS IT ADDS DESPERATION OH MY GOSHHH THEY’VE ADDED DRUMS TO THE TRANSITION FROM CHORUS TO VERSE 2. AND I REMEMBER THINKING!! THE AD LIBS OH MY GOD. THE BRIDGE HAS CLEARER HARMONIES OH MY GOD. OH I REMEMBER!!

All You Had To Do Was Stay - The STAY is so nice and the drums sound so crisp man. WHEN YOU SAY GOODBYE!! The two versions do sound quite similar but the mastering is definitely better. The drums are just so niceeee.

Shake It Off - Once again the drums are just so good on this album. Her little chuckle!! THE CLAPS HAVE ECHO. ooh ooh ooh!! The harmony clarity on this album is SO superior. THE LOUDER SHAKE IT OFFS IN THE BACKGROUND?? THE LAUGH IN THE BRIDGE AND THE HEY IN THE LAST CHORUS

I Wish You Would - THE CLARITY OF THAT INTRO TOOK ME OUT THE FUCK. THE LITTLE HARMONIES AT THE END OF THE LAST CHORUS. Still sounds like stand back wasted :) THOSE BACKGROUND AAAHS ARE NEW AREN’T THEY OH I LOVE THEM SO MUCH I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH.

Bad Blood - She sounds so much angrier?? (also the fade in intro was nice) Once again the drums on this sound so good. The vocal improvement really shows with this one. Oooh and the drums that fade in are so much better too. HEY!

Wildest Dreams - okay we’ve heard this one we all know it’s a banger

How You Get The Girl - THE OHS AT THE BEGINNING.THE TRANSITION TO THE CHORUS WAS SO GOOD WHAT KINDA CRACK DID SHE PUT IN IT. THE YEAH SQUEAK?? THE ELECTRONIC HIGH PITCHED NOISES! THE DRUMS INTO THE LAST CHORUS?? I. WANT. YOU. FOREVER. AND. EVER!! AHHHHH THIS IS PERFECT

This Love - once again already heard it but it’s superior it just sounds so much clearer than the original

I Know Places - the Is sound much more menacing oh wow. THE IS IN THE CHORUS TOO. AND WE RUN!! HOLY SHIT. Once again the drums have been done justice in this album. Overall sounds a lot more anxious and menacing than the stolen version

Clean - the intro has some new sounds!! Oh and she sounds so much clearer and so does the background instruments it’s nice. I love how clear the harmonies are in this whole album. It sounds so much fuller now!! I can’t pinpoint why honestly but I love it. Louder drums in the bridge. OHHHH THE RAINNNNN. OH IT’S BUILDING!! THIS CHORUS IS SO MUCH FULLER OH I LOVE IT WHEN A SONG BUILDS.

Wonderland - I AM A SLUT FOR THE DRUMS IN THIS ALBUM THE FUCK DID SHE PUT IN THEM!! IN WONDERLAAAAAAND it sounds so much more echoy I love it. Slight change to the way she sings the second chorus, almost more hesitant. OH!. we both went mad… OHHHHHHHH- GO OFF QUEEN. ONCE AGAIN THE HARMONIES ARE SO GOOD. ad libs are flawless. Added drums to the last chorus?? Yo??

You Are In Love - are you ready to die. the intro is already so good. AH THE DRUMS IN THE BACKGROUND ON JUST ONE EAR OH MY GOD. OH THE CHORUS HAS EXTRA ECHOES AND SO IT SOUNDS SO WHIMSICAL I AM TEARING UP. he is in love!! The so it goes!! The harmony is so clear in this bridge. THE BIT BEFORE THE LAST CHORUS I AM DYING I DIED DEAD. AND THE AHHHS HAVE HARMONIES??? BRO I AM BEING FED

New Romantics - the intro is so girly pop. the extra echo on the drums too. AND on the harmonies?? Oh the ah’s make me a little sad but the chorus goes super hard. Okay the ah’s grew on me like the WANEGBT weeeE! It is okay. This whole thing just sounds so much more girly pop I love it so much. FLAWLESS AD LIBS GO OFF MOTHER.

“Slut!” - the fact that this is a love song is so shocking and yet so fitting. It might blow up in your pretty face?? Her little SLUT! Is so good. DRUNK IN LOVE is a very good line by the way I am objectively right. The idea of love being so good that it makes every bad thing worth it?? It’s so good. Like being called a SLUT is worth it for this guy who we totally don’t know

Say Don’t Go - it sounds like clean which is funny. Anyway the chorus does NOT and it is superior. The SAY sounds like STAY (AYHTWS reference??) I SAID I LOVE YOU!! The silence after you say nothing back :(( 

Now That We Don’t Talk - she looked into brain for this one fr. ONCE AGAIN THE DRUMS ARE DRUGS. This song feels like a RANT and I love that energy. It lacks a straightforward structure.

Suburban Legends - YOU KISS ME IN A WAY THAT’S GONNA SCREW ME UP FOREVER!! Storytelling in the second verse is so good. And the bridge!! The lyricism in this entire vault has me dead on my bed right now. BROKE MY OWN HEART!! NOOOO DON’T END

Goshhh it's weird because i have a very specific memory when I was younger of watching the rollercoaster episode in the english dub (censored blood and everything) at 2 AM on adult swim or something? And then like, years later, I find the NEW episodes and start watching it, and then realize that's where that very specific memory came from! It was hard to find the old episodes at that time, but I searched high and low of the internet for them, eventually found them, and got into it! And, well... here we are too!

THE ELEMENTARY SQUAD AND OUR DEAR FAKE CHILDREN ARE GOOD AT THAT. I especially love how the friendship affects both sides: so much inspiration there, gosh.

Still doing the reread, yup! (Currently in the middle of the Okino Yoko case.) Going slowly thanks to me wanting to do way too many things at once and life being life and throwing unexpected responsibilities my way which I need to attend to.

Nothing truly new so far. Though, my opinion has been the same for a while on Olde VS New chapters. Cases used to feel more genuine, and had different vibes. They felt more organic in a way. New stuff is just... well, let's say I generally don't have a flattering opinion on new content. I tend to like little scenes or interactions, rather than the whole cases now. Somehow older cases feel like... even if they didn't advance the plot, they felt like there was a purpose to them, other than just stalling for time. Newer non-plot related cases feel a bit... empty? Transparent? I'm not sure what is the right word to describe it. (Perhaps the best way to put it that the heart/passion/love is missing from them?)

I personally tend to go back to older chapters a lot: there is just so much charm to them, and they bring me so much comfort. (Same with rewatching.)

But as I'm also rewatching the anime (oh dear) it's interesting to see the differences between the anime and manga. Earlier anime tends to deviate from manga in some cases (like adding the Detective Boys to the mix from episode 1, or changing some of the plot for certain cases), while in the middle-ground the anime includes extra scenes (which are not in the manga). Also one can observe how earlier episodes have a faster pace to fit 1 case into 1 episode (and thus cutting certain manga scenes), while later on they make episodes slower paced... But I'm realizing that I'm rambling again. *coughs* Moving on.

*taps chin* Given that information, I have a couple fics in mind. *nods* I need a bit of time to gather the fics I want to rec you, so I'll be getting back to this!

THIS ALSO REMINDS ME!!! THAT I HAVE READ AND CAUGHT UP TO THE MOST RECENT UPDATE IN FORGED! Gosh this fic, bless you for reccing it, I absolutely ADORE IT: the way the author took both stories and merged them in such an organic way, keeping the charm of both... Such great execution, and I'm in love with the character interactions in this, truly, thank you, I can safely say that this fic now made it onto my Eternal Favourites list.

And gosh, yes, I'm generally weak for the identity reveal trope ( and not just in DetCo, but others too, like Miraculous Ladybug or Danny Phantom).

And... I have very different answers for How It Would Actually Play Out and How I would Like It To Play Out.

A very short summary (sorry, had a long day and my battery is low, brain is slow) of how I imagine it would go in Gosho-Canon: Shinichi only tells Ran he was Conan (not the full extent of all, I think, just parts of it) only after the BO is down, Ran forgives him without much issue, and a most general happy ending. Marry, kids, and the like, or being back to the old everydays (but now dating). Kazuha might be told too, but I sort of think Gosho would gloss over that detail. I'm not sure how the Detective Boys would fair in this situation, I sort of feel their situation might be glossed over too.

As for how I would like it to play out: at this point in time Ran (and I want to think Kogorou too!) would have already figured the Shinichi=Conan thing out and stuck with that belief (HELLO, SUSPICION ARCS? ALSO OCCHAN IS A DETECTIVE AND EX-POLICE OFFICER?) OR Shinichi would have already told Ran (HELLO DESPERATE REVIVAL ARC? ALSO THE VERY FIRST NIGHT OF CONAN'S EXISTENCE?). And I want to think Kazuha would be in the know too, at this point. (Either told or figured it out herself.)

But if you mean without alterations to the current canon: I think Shinichi would finally tell Ran about PART of the situation (perhaps in a rush bc of danger or after BO take down) be it as Conan or Shinichi. I believe Ran would need a lot of time to think on this (all those lies, the gaslighting [I don't use the word lightly, I really think it applies here], the breach of trust), but I think she, being the kind, gentle yet strong soul she is, would forgive Shinichi. Shinichi would need to work hard to regain Ran's trust, but I think in the long run, they would work it out, since they are very important to each other (as I ramble about it in this particular Relationship Bingo ask, ShinRan is the ultimate example of the soulmate trope to me). Compared to how I imagine Gosho-Canon, this would take a lot more time. And this would also include telling the kids about the situation, and Occhan, and Kazuha too, and some of Shinichi's other allies too. (All the bonds and connections he made as Conan, gosh, GOSH, so many, I refuse, REFUSE to believe Shinichi would just let these bonds go. LIKE ONE TAKAGI WATARU!!!!)

Now I'm curious how you would see this go down, so I would like to throw back the question at you: how would you imagine (be it altered or not-altered from canon) the reveal play out?

I think what I love about the soulmate trope... is the potential. I love seeing various interpretations of the trope, be it romantic or platonic. How the concept of soulmates are treated in universe (is it common? is it rare? is it special? also what is the view on soulmates?) and by the characters themselves (do they see it as determinism? do they want to ignore it? are they fond of the concept? or even obsessed with finding their soulmate?), and what the people involved in the soulmate bond make of that connection.

And yes, there are so many good platonic soulmate fics in DCMK fandom! (I go on the hunt regularly so I know, haha.)

It was a pretty cool site for sure, and something very unique at the time (for Hungary at least). As for what was memorable and different... I guess some names and Heiji's accent! The fan-translator at the time tried to localize them.

It's not the manga, but since we have the first 2 seasons and the first movie of DetCo dubbed in Hungarian... Shinichi/Conan has more of a cheeky vibe to him, than in the original Japanese. And there are some really hilarious (in a good way) words and phrases he uses. So Much Attitude In Such A Small Body.

AND MEGUMID FIC IN THE SERIES THE BEST ENDING WAS JUST joy great and GOJO BEING SO OBVIOUS EXCELLENT CROPS WATERED. ALSO I REALLY LOVE HOW U WROTE GOJO ALOT BTW ITS GREAT!! grey cashmere [riko's fic] and paper planes [megumi's fic] are two of my most beloved fics as well. i'm one of the oldest kids in my family, so getting the chance to write reader as an elder sister-like figure to riko, or as a mother-like figure to megumi and tsumiki— i very much enjoyed writing them both, as i could insert a little bit of myself into the reader's character. i could see a little bit of myself in the reader...

besides, ofc, the other main reason being, riko, megumi and tsumiki deserve this whole world. yeah, the manga made them sad but tht's never happening on my watch, y'all!! 😇😇

Hey there! I just wanted to reach out and tell you how excited I am about ''I'm a nightmare, you are a miracle''! You got me hooked on the first chapter! 🥰

Even if Joel wants to ruin her (in a good way lol🤭), she lets the reader set the pace of their relationship, and the easiness with which they interact is beautiful to read. It makes it a bit hard not to draw comparisons between the two brothers, as the only glimpses of the reader's relationship with Tommy are from their last moments. The way Joel seems to read her so effortlessly and accepts her as she is without making demands, and the way the reader seems to have an easier time sharing what she feels, makes me wonder if Tommy realized her mental struggles.

The way Joel is in her head, even if nothing physically has happened, feels scary. Their feelings for each other seem to be coming fast and intense. Peter had lost the battle before it began.

I don't know why, but as soon as I started reading the third chapter, I felt everything was about to explode, and I was right! What a cliffhanger at the end! The sloppy second's comment was harsh.

first of all, thank you so much for sending this! this fic is my baby, and i love talking about them! you've made my whole day!

i have every intention of revealing a little more of reader's previous relationship with both tommy and her mom, it's just a matter of figuring out where it all fits. i will be the first to admit that i don't necessarily have a plan for where this is all going, i'm just enjoying the journey, so to speak.

but you're absolutely correct in tommy not grasping the reality of reader's mental struggles — i view him as somewhat immature and entirely impulsive, so to me, dealing with the gravity of those struggles wouldn't be something he'd be willing (or able) to do. or, when things got hard, he had an affair.

their feelings are totally fast and intense! i wanted there to be a sense of destiny (or inevitability) to their relationship — as though it's not actually in their hands, and their sense of belonging to one another is more innate than anything, and neither of them actually understand it. i'm going to explore this much more as they get...closer.

i actually have a good chunk of ch 4 written, so i'm hoping it won't be too long! i'm aiming for two weeks, maybe?
