Japanese Cuisine | Hitsumabushi | Recipe
Hitsumabushi is a traditional Japanese dish originating from Nagoya. Although it's similar to unadon regarding most of the ingredients, histumabushi consists of sliced grilled eel that's served on top of steamed rice, but it's accompanied by assorted condiments and garnishes. The dish is also served in a very specific way – everything is divided into four portions. The first portion is eaten as it is, the second is accompanied by condiments such as nori seaweed, chopped green onions, and wasabi. The third portion is the same as the second, with the addition of dashi broth or green tea (eaten like a soup), and the last portion is eaten however you like. It is believed that histumabushi dates back to the end of Meiji Era, when waitresses served chopped grilled eel on rice into individual bowls.

Nestled in the heart of Nagoya city, Renovation Mansion Nagoya is a stunning architectural masterpiece that seamlessly blends Japan's rich heritage with modern convenience. The mansion was built during the Meiji period, and it has been carefully renovated to offer guests an unforgettable experience. Check their site to know more details
Upon entering the mansion, guests are greeted by the grandeur of a bygone era. The entrance hall features a soaring ceiling and elaborate woodwork, while the sitting room boasts a traditional Japanese fireplace (irori) and tatami mats where guests can relax and unwind.
However, this historic mansion also offers all the amenities of modern living. The bedrooms are equipped with comfortable beds, air conditioning, and high-speed Wi-Fi, while the bathrooms feature rain showers and deep soaking tubs.
One of the standout features of Renovation Mansion Nagoya is its beautiful garden. Designed to reflect the four seasons of Japan, the garden is a serene oasis in the heart of the city. Guests can stroll along the winding paths, view the cherry blossoms in spring, or relax in the tea house while enjoying a traditional Japanese tea ceremony.
For those who wish to explore beyond the mansion, Nagoya is a vibrant city that offers a wealth of attractions. The city is home to some of Japan's most famous museums, including the Toyota Automobile Museum and the Tokugawa Art Museum. The building reflects this fusion of East and West, as it incorporates elements of both traditional Japanese architecture and European design.
During the years of World War II, the mansion was used by the Japanese military as a hospital. After the war ended, it fell into disrepair and remained abandoned for many years. In 2010, a young couple purchased the property, recognizing its historical significance and architectural beauty. They spent several years restoring the mansion to its former glory, carefully preserving its original features while adding modern amenities to ensure guests' comfort.

#Chef chen kenichi series
Yutaka Ishinabe is the chef behind the Queen Alice chain of restaurants in Japan. The elder Chen is also the author of the cookbooks Ironman Kenichi Chen’s Chinese Cooking, Today’s Main Dish, My Honest Cooking, Iron Pot Rules, and Carrying on My Father’s Work-Creating My Own Flavors. These days, it’s his son, Chen Kentaro, who’s running the business. Chen Kenichi (Iron Chef Chinese)Ĭhen Kenichi, nicknamed the “The Szechuan Sage,” expanded his family restaurant group across Japan, with 14 locations in the cities of Fukuoka, Matsuyama, Nagoya, Takamatsu, Tokyo, and Yokohama, according to the company’s website. So what have the original Iron Chefs been up to these last 20 years? Those culinary masters don’t make headlines news here in the States as often as their Iron Chef America counterparts- Bobby Flay, Stephanie Izard, Jose Garces, et al.-but here’s what we’ve discovered. The news comes nearly three decades after TV viewers first saw the original Iron Chef, which debuted in Japan on Fuji Television in 1993 (arriving in dubbed form on Food Network six years later) and wrapped up in 2002. The competition’s most successful Challenger will return to battle in a grand finale for the chance to be named the first ever ‘Iron Legend.’” Five new trailblazing Iron Chefs will welcome brave Challenger Chefs to the reimagined Kitchen Stadium, where they’ll face off and be pushed to the limits of endurance and creativity as they cook up extraordinary culinary creations. This is where world-class cuisine meets high-octane sports. “It’s been called the toughest culinary challenge a chef will ever experience.
#Chef chen kenichi series
“The legendary Iron Chef series is reborn with a supersized approach to the ground-breaking culinary competition that started it all,” Netflix says in a press release. Yes, Iron Chef is coming back to TV, with Netflix rebooting the culinary competition as Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend. That scraping sound you hear? That’s the sound of chefs around the world sharpening their knives in hopes of a trip to Kitchen Stadium.

Enjoy South Indian cuisine in Nagoya. (Nagoya-shi, Aichi, Japan) https://www.instagram.com/p/CiXbnWPvB-u/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Something for Everyone As Japan's second-largest city, Osaka is known for its delicious food and bustling atmosphere. From street food to Michelin-starred restaurants, there's something for everyone in this city, mentions freelance photographer Kavan Choksi. Be sure to give in to some local specialties like okonomiyaki and takoyaki. Nagoya is ideal for those who love hearty and filling meals. Hakodate, situated on the southern tip of Hokkaido, is another great destination for seafood lovers. The city's famous morning market offers a wide variety of fresh seafood perfect for sushi and sashimi.

What is the best Asian food that you must eat?
Traveling and exploring places in Aisa is always incomplete without trying lip-smacking Asian dishes, all decked up with spices, herbs, and condiments. Let's take your taste buds to cloud nine with some of the most popular and signature dishes of Asian Countries. Come and experience the most drool-worthy dishes that you must try when visiting these Asian nations:
1.Khantoke Dinner, Thailand : "Khantoke“ is the term used to describe haunch-high, round tables around which diners feast. Dinners are usually accompanied by traditional dance, performances, and local liquor. It's a traditional Northern Thai feast that is a medley of the region's Lanna food. Bite into this flavorsome cuisine to relish chili dips, spicy sausage, Northern-style curries, and the staple rice. Experience this Northern Thai food served on a red pedestal tray at the Old Chiangmai Cultural Center, a major tourist attraction.
2.Kaldereta, Philippines : Relish this Filipino meat stew traditionally served with a side of white rice. Three centuries of Spanish colonization contributed to the dish's origin, and its name comes from the Spanish word caldereta, which means pot or cauldron. This flavorsome dish has a medley of ingredients like mashed liver and tomato sauce seasoned with onion, salt, pepper, and garlic to enhance the taste. If you're in this Asian country, don't forget to savor this Filipino dish.
3.Ebi Furai, Japan : Bite into one of the signature dishes of Aisa from Nagoya, Japan. Ebi Furai is large prawns dipped in egg white, daubed in panko breadcrumbs, and deep-fried to give your taste buds a scrumptious delight. It's one of the western-inspired yōshoku dishes that originated in the Meiji Restoration between the 1860s and the early 1900s. In addition to being a kawari-age food, which is breaded and deep-fried, Ebi Furai is also considered a meibutsu food, which relates to regional cuisine.
4.Manti, Turkey : Spiced up with ground meat and onions and filled with flavors, these traditional Turkish dumplings dipped in a sauce made from yogurt and garlic will make you crave more. Named after a dish originating in Central Asia, Manti is derived from the word mantu for dumplings and was introduced to Turkey by nomadic Turkish tribes around the 13th century. You'll find these lip-smacking Manti dumplings throughout Turkey as this dish has garnered popularity for great taste.
5.Nasi Padang, Indonesia : This Indonesian dish got its name from its place of origin, nasi Pandang. A combination of rice (nasi) and a medley of traditional Pandang dishes. In Indonesia, nasi Padang, which is more of a style of eating than a dish, can be served as hidangor (in which a server brings rice and many types of foods) or as pesan (in which customers are served rice and then choose the dishes they want on top). You get to choose from an array of finger-licking dishes to accompany rice, including gulai curries and beef rendang, boiled, fried, or grilled dishes. Moreover, you get a variety of snacks seasoned with spices and herbs to add flavors.

Salt fried noodles Local cuisine of the Chubu region
Salt-yakisoba is one of the local dishes that is popular mainly in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture. Yakisoba is generally a Chinese dish, and there are many variations in Japan, but Nagoya-style salt yakisoba has its own unique flavor. Salt Yakisoba uses thicker Chinese noodles and sauces and seasonings that are more salty than regular Yakisoba. Unlike yakisoba from other regions, it is characterized by its salty flavor instead of sauce. The general method is as follows: 1. Depending on boiling of noodles Boil the Chinese noodles. After boiling, drain the water and set aside to make it easier to stir-fry. 2. Stir-fried ingredients Stir-fry ingredients such as vegetables (cabbage, onions, wood ear mushrooms, etc.) and meat. Pork or chicken is generally used. 3. Stir-fried noodles and sauce Boiled Chinese noodles are stir-fried with the ingredients, then sauces and seasonings that emphasize the salty taste are added and stir-fried. Adjustment of salt content and seasoning vary depending on each household and store. 4. Arrangement The stir-fried noodles are placed in a bowl and topped with chopped green onions, yuzu, etc., depending on your preference. Shio Yakisoba has a unique flavor with a hint of salt, making it different from Yakisoba from other regions. When you visit Nagoya, be sure to try it as a way to enjoy the local flavor.

Translation: "Kai had some doubts as he continuously missed the target. 'Will this one be the one that sticks~? (hehe)' He takes aim and throws his final shuriken and makes it (hehe). ^^
Baekhyun didn't seem too happy with the ending result of the game. It seemed like he got more shurikens on the bamboo screen than the targets themselves! When the game was over he wanted to try his luck again… (hehe) He took another try, this time trying a spinning method of attack! To nobody's surprise, there were quite a lot of shurikens stuck to the bamboo screen yet again (hehe). Kai watched as Baekhyun made his jumping attacks in his attempts to hit the targets! (hehe)"
