'Scientific grunt work doesn’t render very well on the silver screen. But neither do most jobs, or for that matter, most people. When it comes to theoretical physicists and aesthetic appeal, it’s best to channel quantum mechanics and suspend your disbelief.
Enter Oppenheimer, where Brigadier General Matt Damon says things like, “This is the most important thing to ever happen in the history of the world!” And, “We’ve given them an ace. It’s up to them to play the hand.” No doubt these sentiments were actually delivered as 700-page memorandums, Pendaflex-foldered and date-stamped. But this is Hollywood we’re talking about. You’ll find little in the way of stationery here, at least not on screen. And when the occasional differential equation rolls into frame, writer/director Christopher Nolan cuts smartly away before the audience might nod off.
To Nolan’s credit, Oppenheimer is a terrifically researched film. But it’s a film nonetheless, and translating sprawling, decades-long military sagas via camera necessitates shortcuts. I’m not a vetted expert on nuclear history but I’ve dabbled, having acted as research assistant for a 2020 treatise on plutonium production. This is to say that I’m familiar with the players.
I know, for example, that Matt Damon is far too cuddly, good-looking, and agreeable to portray the irascible Leslie Groves, nicknamed “Greasy” by his fellow West Point cadets. I know that Niels Bohr, the Danish physicist with a famously soft, nigh-unintelligible voice, is misrepresented by Shakespearean enunciator Kenneth Branagh. Nolan’s rolodex runs deeper than Wes Anderson’s these days, and if there’s a gripe to be had with Oppenheimer, it’s that everyone involved is just too damned sexy.
But, again, this is Hollywood, and where Nolan leaves the beaten path of record he generally does so to sate our dopamine addiction. Come to think of it, I haven’t been inside an actual physics department in a while. Maybe the professors really are incredibly gorgeous.
Luckily for Nolan, the subject of his cinematic obsession was a high-cheeked academic anomaly. The poet Edith Jenkins, who overlapped with J. Robert Oppenheimer in leftwing circles, describes his “precocity and brilliance… his jerky walk, feet turned out, a Jewish Pan with his blue eyes and his wild Einstein hair.” Manhattan Project scientist Robert Wilson agrees, admitting that he was “caught up by the Oppenheimer charisma,” “his style, the poetic vision of what we were doing.”
No, Oppy’s jawline never approached the artful chisel of Cillian Murphy’s, but there are unmistakable parallels—a bit elfin, a bit skeletal—to be drawn. Certainly Oppenheimer availed himself of more mistresses than your average mid-century physicist. Nolan spends perhaps too much time focusing on one of them (Jean Tatlock, played by Florence Pugh) and mentions a second in passing (Ruth Tolman, a bit part Louise Lombard), while avoiding speculation of yet others, such as when Berkeley cops found grad student Melba Phillips sleeping in Oppy’s car somewhere in the Coastal Range, the professor himself suspiciously absent.
Oppenheimer’s messy personal life makes him an ideal candidate for exposé—look no further than Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin’s bestselling American Prometheus, Nolan’s source material. But here I’ll return to Hollywoodization, for it’s one thing to get wind of Oppenheimer’s foibles and quite another to see Florence Pugh writhing hallucinatorily on his lap during the 1954 AEC security hearings.
If Nolan goes too far in this film, if he stretches the Oppenheimer envelope past its roomy Pendaflex accommodations, it’s in the context of Oppy outside the Manhattan Project. Despite magnificent wartime subject matter—not all of which is touched upon—Nolan can’t quit his blockbuster tropes. Monochrome senate hearings, petty political twists (how is RDJ’s aide still employed?), Oppy’s fingers gracing Emily Blunt’s as she asks for a cocktail science primer.
Maybe audiences require such touchstones to contextualize the rest of the film. Nolan seems to think so. But as the string section swelled during a trite turn in the relatively forgettable career of Lewis Strauss, I found myself wishing we could’ve stayed put in New Mexico, on the high mesa that forms this film’s heart.
Nolan’s feat comes in recreating Los Alamos, a critical American moment with more than enough narrative to forgo some of the politico-romantic schlock that drags this thing to a three-hour runtime. Fascinated by character, by gray morality, Nolan found Oppy such an attractive case study that it nearly steered his magnum opus (I do think this film qualifies) off track. Each of the factual and immensely complicated bomb-related obstacles—for example, thunderstorms the morning of the Trinity Test—holds a world-changing thrall entirely separate from the whims of one man, no matter how chiseled his jaw.
Speaking of moralistic study, there’s one character who escapes Oppenheimer scot-free: Matt Damon’s overly fit and preposterously understated Leslie Groves. “I’ve known General Groves since I was 2nd lieutenant,” said the real-world David Nichols (cast as Dane DeHaan) in a 1965 interview. “To start off with, I would say he is the biggest son-of-a-bitch I’ve ever met, bar none.”
“Impatient, brusque, intolerant,” writes Robert S. Norris in his comprehensive Groves biography Racing for the Bomb. “He had few close friends, and others generally kept their distance.”
“When you looked at Captain Groves, a little alarm bell rang ‘Caution’ in your brain,” said a colleague.
Damon bulked up, lumped up—whatever—for his role as Nike executive Sonny Vaccaro in this year’s Air. But it’s a serious leap from office park Vaccaro to Army taskmaster Groves, who even in his 1970 New York Times obituary suffered the redundant label of, “a chunky, heavyset man, with a tendency toward paunchiness.” More unfounded than Damon’s weight, however, is a good guy nature cultivated over decades of Good Will Hunting television marathons, Invictus advertisements, and so on.
Cillian Murphy’s shell-shocked victory speech presents a nice commentary on the ethical morass of atomic weaponry. But Damon/Groves makes for an even juicier moralistic target, and he’s let off the hook with that aforementioned one-liner: “We’ve given them an ace, it’s up to them to play the hand.” If anyone bore responsibility for detonating two atomic bombs over civilian populations, it was General Leslie R. Groves, the only person playing said poker game in the first place.
Racing for the Bomb explains, “Groves, sitting atop his security pyramid, was the only person who knew everything about the bomb project—more than the chief of staff, more than the secretary of war, more than the president.” He was therefore “singularly concerned with the bomb, with getting it finished, tested, and used, and his superiors deferred to him time and again to make the choices that would make this happen.”
Nolan illustrates how the bomb haunted Oppenheimer. Groves, cinematically absent after Trinity, showed no such regret. Critiquing the general’s 1962 autobiography Now It Can Be Told, the Saturday Review wrote, “Groves is motivated by a simple and all-sufficing patriotism that is untroubled by what others see in the atom. He does not probe for any new vision of national interest in the age he helped create.”
Simple and all-sufficing patriotism—sounds familiar. Make of it what you will.
The only Oppenheimer character who comes across as legitimately malevolent is Benny Safdie’s terrific Ed Teller. Maybe I fell for Teller because Safdie, a director by trade, looks more like a physicist than a cologne model. Still, I get the sense that Safdie studied his source material. When he pipes up about the “Super”—the hydrogen bomb—his eyes hold nary a flicker of regret. And he keeps doing so despite repeated disdain from his colleagues.
Look, I get it, I really do, on the attractiveness quotient. This is a movie, and if scientists and bureaucrats don’t suffice for a visual study then we’ll goddamn pretend. It’s only sensible that Ernest Lawrence— who, per physicist Jeremy Bernstein, “looked a bit like a country bumpkin”—becomes Josh Hartnett. That Lewis Strauss, a crooked-toothed self-made paper pusher, turns into silver fox Robert Downey Jr. I guess I even understand why Olivia Thirlby got thrown in out of absolutely nowhere, probably as Lilli Hornig, though I can’t recall her name being said aloud.
Nolan had to beautify this stuff because the big screen is a beautiful place. He gets most of the issues absolutely right, and I’ll be pulling for him come Oscar season. I doubt I’ll wind up remembering Emily Blunt’s Kitty Oppenheimer, Matthew Modine’s Vannevar Bush, or whoever the hell Rami Malek was supposed to be. But I’ll surely remember the Trinity Test, fingers trembling over that big red button, “10-9-8” and the towering explosion and the pressure wave—even if, no shade at Nolan, David Lynch already did it better on television.'

I WANNA KNOW WHAT YOUR OC’s VOICES SOUND LIKE!!! No pressure to answer ofc PLEASE THOUGH because I just wanna absorb your little guys. TELL ME ALL ABOUT THEM
Haha... I have a sneaking suspicion I know who you are, beloved anon. Regardless, I shall answer this gift of a request!!! (Most of these will be in song form btw-)
Ichor!Sans:
He's got a funky accent, and I like to think he's like a strange little bard of a man by voice. (He talks a bit deeper than the singing voice, but holds onto the accent). As a God of Death(Punishment) he tends to be imagined by his followers as soft-spoken and having a deep rumbling voice that shakes ur chest. Not the case! He's just A Guy abd he likes it a lot :)
Pretender!Sans:
Pretender vibes!! Almost forgot to add him, so here's the silly guy's voice vibes. That's uhhh. All my commentary on this 👍
N (Persona):
N is just built different. I don't really have a reasoning for this one?
Teddy and Haphazard:
This has always kinda been their song together as Sister and Brother in my mind. Teddy is the feminine voice, Hap the masculine. Again, not much explanation?
Reset:
Or
This one came to me in a Vision, but I think that by the time a voice-claim is relevant this is Reset's vibe. A bit more of a talking intonation to his singing voice, very theatric when he's talking.
Monochrome:
He has a shockingly beautiful and deep voice. A lot of the time it goes over people's heads, but when he stops stuttering and manages his words well, his voice is powerful and smooth.
Orchid:
Orchid has a deeper and more solid voice. (Deep enough to be mistaken for a man on occasion) and when she sings she mumbles a bit. (I love her immensely)
Stereo:
Higher pitched naturally in tone than the others, he talks like he's always smiling, but can still deepen his voice when he needs to. His voice also has a slight mechanical overtone for all his speech. (He can also sound like Hatsune Miku if he alters his settings.)
Shotput:
Last but not least, the beloved emo. Not a lot of context. (He tried to sing like an emo boy for a bit and fake an accent, but it wasn't working.) Just a Guy

Alberto Giacometti (1901-1966)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Giacometti was one of the most important sculptors of the 20th century. His work was particularly influenced by artistic styles such as Cubism and Surrealism. Philosophical questions about the human condition, as well as existential and phenomenological debates played a significant role in his work. Around 1935 he gave up on his Surrealist influences to pursue a more deepened analysis of figurative compositions. Giacometti wrote texts for periodicals and exhibition catalogues and recorded his thoughts and memories in notebooks and diaries. His critical nature led to self-doubt about his own work and his self-perceived inability to do justice to his own artistic vision. His insecurities nevertheless remained a powerful motivating artistic force throughout his entire life.
Between 1938 and 1944 Giacometti's sculptures had a maximum height of seven centimeters (2.75 inches). Their small size reflected the actual distance between the artist's position and his model. In this context he self-critically stated: "But wanting to create from memory what I had seen, to my terror the sculptures became smaller and smaller". After World War II, Giacometti created his most famous sculptures: his extremely tall and slender figurines. These sculptures were subject to his individual viewing experience—between an imaginary yet real, a tangible yet inaccessible space.
In Giacometti's whole body of work, his painting constitutes only a small part. After 1957, however, his figurative paintings were equally as present as his sculptures. The almost monochrome paintings of his late work do not refer to any other artistic styles of modernity."

TERM PROJECT NO.2 | BASTARD
Topics of interest
Teen Magazine | In style, bright, advertisements
Film Title Sequence | Serious, emotional, thematic
Record Album Cover | Impression, story, tone
CHOSEN TOPIC -> RECORD ALBUM COVER
I decided to pick a record album cover, as ever since the M&M assignment from last semester, I wanted to have another attempt at an album cover design, but this time I chose a different medium, and in this case, I used Photoshop. I am always so intrigued by the art of album covers, and I appreciate the amount of effort the musician and designer put into the art of an album cover to ensure that the album is well represented to audiences.
Creative Concept
One of my favourite artists of all time is L.A. Tyler, the Creator, and even though his artwork for the last five albums has been outstanding in terms of quality and visuals, his cover designs for his first two albums (Bastard and Goblin) are less than superb. So, I decided to take on the role of recreating Tyler's first album's cover. My main challenge was sticking to a monochrome colour palette with a hint of red to take a nod to the original album cover, which is included above. My secondary constraint was ensuring that I eluded to the story within Bastard without making the design look outlandish and keeping in mind how album cover designs can influence the sales of records.
Description
Bastard is a mixtape by American rapper and producer Tyler, the Creator. Released in 2009, it serves as Tyler's debut solo project and showcases his unique style, blending elements of hip-hop, alternative rap, and dark, introspective lyrics. The mixtape gained attention for its raw and experimental sound, setting the stage for Tyler's future success with Odd Future (Tyler's friend group made up of other rappers, graphic designers, and skateboarders) and his solo career. Tyler, the Creator produced the entire "Bastard" mixtape himself at the young age of 19, demonstrating not only his skills as a rapper but also his talent as a producer. This DIY approach to his music production has been a consistent aspect of Tyler's artistic identity throughout his career.
Bastard is well known for its grunge-like production with tones of darkness in its lyrics and production so I really wanted to capture those characteristics in my redesign. When it comes to my roughs for graphic design I tend to find it quite difficult to really articulate my final vision as my process is changed quite a ton from when I plan my roughs to when I export the final JPG whereas when it comes to illustration I need complex roughs to lay a firm foundation or else I struggle to even begin. This could just because of the amount of experience I have between design and illustration but its a hurdle I must overcome. However, thankfully I will say I am quite skilled in photoshop so tackling this project was a nice refresher after the winter break and I was able to learn some new techniques that enhance my work such as colour overlay and dealing with adjustment layers. Layering multiple images resulted in the texture in the final result and effects such as grain, and roughen to portray the scuffed-like condition of the album. The album heavily contains themes of religion so it felt right to include an image of heaven while Tyler on the left wearing a ski mask with a upside-down cross is there to show a contrast of the rebellious influence Tyler has on the record. I wanted to keep type simple yet unique so I went with a sans serif typeface for the body text and a more decorative yet striking typeface for the title and I adjusted the kerning to increase readability. The graphics on the bottom are all made by me and even though I could've just grabbed them on google I figured I might as well have more pen tool practise. Overall I'm beyond pleased with how this turned out and I plan on recreating other album designs from Tyler, the Creator and I believe I was able to reach my objective in this week's illo.

Night Vision Cctv Cameras For Outdoor Security
Tumblr media
Night vision cctv cameras are useful for outdoor security, especially if you live in an area where nighttime crime is common. They’re great for checking driveways, sidewalks, and other locations that could hold valuables or be easily accessed by intruders.
Many of these cameras also have a monochrome filter that automatically switches between color and black and white during dark hours. This can help reduce ghosting and other issues that cause blurry images.
Cameras with infrared illumination
Outdoor security cameras with infrared illumination are a great way to keep an eye on your home or business during the night. They’re more accurate than traditional night-vision cameras and they can record video even when there’s no light.
They’re also more energy-efficient than LED lights, which means they don’t consume a lot of power. And they don’t require you to connect them to your camera or DVR because they turn on and off automatically.
You can install these IR spotlights anywhere you want and they’ll work with any camera that works with 850nm infrared illumination. Just make sure that the camera and illuminator are both pointed in the same direction.
Infrared cameras have built-in IR LEDs, an IR cut filter and a photon detector that enables them to detect low-light conditions and turn on their infrared / night vision mode. When light levels return, they switch back to daytime mode and capture color images.
Cameras with night vision
Outdoor security cameras with night vision are a good option for people who want to keep an eye on their property during the night. These cameras have infrared technology that allows them to see in the dark.
These cameras can help you deter break-ins or trespassers by providing footage of suspicious activity when no one else is around. They also make it easier to monitor large areas at night.
They can capture images in color and black & white, making it possible to record what you need without any glare or interference. Some also have spotlights that can be activated by motion in low-light conditions.
They can also be used to protect livestock and check buildings and places where people are unlikely to visit at night. They may not be as high-quality as black & white models, but they can meet the basic requirements of most users.
Cameras with two-way audio
There are plenty of great options in the market for cameras with two-way audio for outdoor security purposes. These cameras allow you to talk back and forth with people that are viewing your home, which makes them ideal for talking to a delivery person or scaring off a burglar.
Some cameras also come with pan-and-tilt motors that can adjust their views remotely to cover a larger area than a static camera. This helps reduce the number of cameras you need, and can make the camera more versatile.
Some cameras also have night vision, which is useful for preventing footage from being too dark in low-light situations after sunset. This feature uses infrared LEDs to illuminate the areas immediately in front of the camera, so it can effectively see what’s going on.
Cameras with motion detection
If you want to monitor the outdoor spaces around your home, cameras with motion detection can help you keep an eye on everything. They often come with floodlights, and can be easily positioned to watch over your driveway, the side of your house or any other hard-to-see areas.
Besides that, these devices save energy because they only turn on when they detect movement. This reduces your electricity bill and increases the battery life of the device.
Another plus to these cameras is that they are weatherproof, meaning that they can withstand rain and snow. This makes them ideal for homes that have extensive landscaping and a variety of climates.
Some motion-activated security cameras feature audio detection as well, which can pick up noises such as a dog barking at night or an intruder trying to break into your home. They can even send you an alert when they hear suspicious sounds. This can help you deter potential criminals and prevent them from breaking into your home.

Gwion Gwion rock paintings found in the north-west Kimberley region of Western Australia c. They may be the result of a basic need of expression that is innate to human beings, or they could have been for the transmission of practical information. Prehistoric artists may have painted animals to "catch" their soul or spirit in order to hunt them more easily or the paintings may represent an animistic vision and homage to surrounding nature. Various conjectures have been made as to the meaning these paintings had to the people that made them. There are examples of cave paintings all over the world-in Indonesia, France, India, Spain, Southern Africa, China, Australia etc. And more recently, in 2021, cave art of a pig found in an Indonesian island, and dated to over 45,500 years, has been reported. The finding was noted to be "the oldest pictorial record of storytelling and the earliest figurative artwork in the world". In December 2019, however, figurative cave paintings depicting pig hunting in the Maros-Pangkep karst in Sulawesi were estimated to be even older, at least 43,900 years old. In November 2018, scientists reported the discovery of the then-oldest known figurative art painting, over 40,000 (perhaps as old as 52,000) years old, of an unknown animal, in the cave of Lubang Jeriji Saléh on the Indonesian island of Borneo ( Kalimantan). The oldest type of cave paintings are hand stencils and simple geometric shapes the oldest undisputed examples of figurative cave paintings are somewhat younger, close to 35,000 years old. The oldest known paintings are approximately 40,000 years old, found in both the Franco-Cantabrian region in western Europe, and in the caves in the district of Maros ( Sulawesi, Indonesia). Pettakere Cave are more than 44,000 years old, Maros, South Sulawesi, Indonesia 3.6.17 Contemporary painting into the 21st century.3.6.15 Hard-edge painting, minimalism, postminimalism, monochrome painting.3.6.14 Washington Color School, Shaped Canvas, Abstract Illusionism, Lyrical Abstraction.3.6.13 New abstraction from the 1950s through the 1980s.3.6.12 Art brut, New Realism, Bay Area Figurative Movement, neo-Dada, photorealism.3.6.11 Figurative, landscape, still-Life, seascape, and Realism.3.6 20th-century modern and contemporary.3.5 19th century: Neo-classicism, History painting, Romanticism, Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, Symbolism. The 19th century saw the rise of the commercial art gallery, which provided patronage in the 20th century. Finally in the West the idea of " art for art's sake" began to find expression in the work of the Romantic painters like Francisco de Goya, John Constable, and J. Beginning with the Baroque era artists received private commissions from a more educated and prosperous middle class. From the Modern era, the Middle Ages through the Renaissance painters worked for the church and a wealthy aristocracy. Initially serving utilitarian purpose, followed by imperial, private, civic, and religious patronage, Eastern and Western painting later found audiences in the aristocracy and the middle class. African art, Jewish art, Islamic art, Indonesian art, Indian art, Chinese art, and Japanese art each had significant influence on Western art, and vice versa. Until the early 20th century it relied primarily on representational, religious and classical motifs, after which time more purely abstract and conceptual approaches gained favor.ĭevelopments in Eastern painting historically parallel those in Western painting, in general, a few centuries earlier. Across cultures, continents, and millennia, the history of painting consists of an ongoing river of creativity that continues into the 21st century. It represents a continuous, though periodically disrupted, tradition from Antiquity. The history of painting reaches back in time to artifacts and artwork created by pre-historic artists, and spans all cultures.

They use different technologies and generally speaking, CCD sensors create higher quality and lower noise images thenĬMOS sensors. Two types of image sensors are used in cameras today, CCD and CMOS. However, for most home security applications 380 TVL is sufficient.
#ZUNE DOCK CLOCK RADIO LICENSE#
Professionals need a 500 TVL or higher, perhaps, to read the number of a license plate on a moving car. For color, standard resolution is a minimum of 330 TV lines and high resolution 480 TV lines or higher. Standard resolution for a B & W camera is perhaps 380 TV lines and a high resolution might be 550 TV lines or higher. Resolution for cameras is expressed in TV horizontal lines. IR LEDs, usually on the camera itself, provide illumination and if a color camera, at night, the camera will switch to monochrome and is, therefore, essentially a 0 Lux camera for the distance of the IR LEDs. Decent color cameras often will have a 2 Lux or lower rating and monochrome (B & W) cameras often under 1 Lux.Ī great way to handle night vision problems is with IR lighting. A typical office environment might have 500 Lux whereas a residential street lighting might be 0.5 - 3 Lux. Light levels for cameras are usually measured in Lux, which is a measurement of light energy on a surface. The key items to know about the camera are whether indoor or outdoor application, amount of available light for the camera to see, needed resolution of the camera, and last, wireless or hard wire from the camera to the monitor. The basic surveillance system is comprised of the camera, lens, and monitor, and if recorded video is needed, then a recording device, such as a VCR or a DVR. This brief article is designed to acquaint the average homeowner to some of the key concepts and terms that might be helpful for a simple home surveillance system. Although there are many articles on CCTV and surveillance systems, most are for the professional integrator and most are for commercial, industrial or government applications.

Baanto's ShadowSense™ NVIS Compliant Touchscreen Solution
NVIS Challenges
NVIS devices offer unique challenges, both in their design and their operation. To understand some of the challenges, and how to overcome them, it helps to know something about how the devices work.
There are currently two commonly used technologies used for NVIS equipment, although the older of the two is slowly being phased out. This older (traditional?) technology uses optoelectronic image enhancement. An image intensifier is used and works by sensing the small amount of infrared (IR) light being emitted by, or reflecting off, objects. Using a complex lensing system and a special electronic vacuum tube, light is then amplified and presented to a display as an image of the object. In this case, the image is typically green and monochrome.
Most NVIS systems made today use a more recent digital technology that captures the low levels of available light using a digital sensor. In this case, the light captured is converted into a digital signal using (typically) a CMOS device not unlike the camera in a phone, but which is much more sensitive to low levels of light. The signal created in then digitally magnified and enhanced many times. The resultant signal can then be sent to a display for viewing. Unlike devices based on image intensifiers, the output of a digital NVIS device can be provided to displays outside of the device itself, even being sent wirelessly.
The use of digital technology has brought about major changes for both military and civilian use of NVIS devices. Not only are digital systems smaller and lighter, but they are also much more versatile. Not only can digital NVIS devices be viewed directly, but their signal can also be connected to an external viewing screen, transmitted remotely, or stored on USB on SD storage devices. Perhaps equally as important, the images produced can now be full colour, and can be HD resolution or higher. These types of image-enhancing night vision systems are now being extensively used in areas such as wildlife research and photography, in addition to military applications.
However, these improvements in NVIS brings with it new challenges. The older systems based on image intensifiers would “bloom” and overload if large amounts of IR flooded the lens, or if light was shone directly at them. The newer systems are capable of better dampening some of these situations, but when used in an active combat situation such as, say, the cockpit of a combat plane during night operations, every effort must be made to prevent spurious IR emissions from other devices, which could blind the NVIS devices being used.
Baanto's ShadowSense NVIS Compatible Touchscreen
Baanto’s ShadowSense NVIS compatible touchscreen monitors have been designed and developed to overcome the challenges inherent with the use of modern NVIS devices.
The video viewed through a NIVIS camera shows two ShadowSense™ 27” ruggedized touchscreen displays on the desk in the foreground. One of them is a standard COTS device, the other is MIL-STD-3001 NVIS compliant. In the background you can see two large monitors, they are reporting respectively the activity from the standard COTS device and the NVIS compliant device.
You will observe the touch activity on each of the military touch displays as it occurs. The difference, though, as you will see, is that the NVIS camera is recording a bloom from the COTS device, whilst the NVIS compatible device is completely dark.
The Baanto’s ShadowSense NVIS compliant ruggedized touchscreen display, despite being an evolution of the patented ShadowSense COTS products, has been designed from the ground up to meet the exacting requirements of MIL-STD-3001. The design can further be refined to be built into a product meeting the precise specifications of military or ruggedized customers, including meeting the many additional MIL-STD codes typically seen in such environments.

Pro Et Contra -  ロケットUSA~フランキーの涙~スペクタクルの社会 = Rocket USA ~ Frankie Teardrop ~ La Societé Du Spectacle
Features members of Overhang Party and Hijokaidan. Suicide lyrics and Guy Debord text get traded back and forth, over intermittent manic screaming and an intensely hypnotic rhythm.
“These are the means we choose to strip bare contemporary "music" and "art" that continue their eternal usurpation by the smoothly self-driving machines of capitalism, to loudly challenge this reality. Twenty-first century punk rock.“

The distant scientist, renowned for being hard to get close to was someone you used to consider one of you closest friends. The two of you spent day and night together, hellbent of cracking open every single challenge you possibly could together. Many considered you two to be able to solve any mystery put in front of you together.
The keyword was together.
There was a mystery you yourself couldn’t solve; Why was Albedo’s time with you slowly becoming a rarity?
You’d been wondering why he’d been spending so much less time in the lab he’d meticulously built over years of his life or on site where his precious research was being buried little by little by crystalline flakes, tending to his experiments and recording time sensitive data that would be valuable for months to come for the research team. Albedo had been gone so long both you and Sucrose had designed a plan in order to cover the work he’s left unattended whilst managing your own on top of the store. It was beginning to get concerning. If the leader of the investigation squad was absent constantly then what did that mean for the rest of you? Surely he was only gone for the sake of something important he’d found, something he placed above everything else he was researching. That’s what you lent yourself into believing.
That is, until you saw him with her.
You couldn’t blame him honestly, Lumine was gorgeous. Her golden hair and fiery eyes are what a lot of men probably look for in a partner, even more so was the mystery behind her origins and the raw power she held in her fingertips at any given moment.
You didn’t have to have a vision to be able to tell that.
Maybe that was another thing he sought in her.
A traveling partner that could wield the powers of the elements, a traveling partner that could hold their own against the world. Maybe that wasn’t all he was looking for but also a romantic partner.
He finally came back to the investigation camp briefly one night, it was during a particularly rough blizzard ravaging across Dragonspine and the areas surrounding it a little like a turbulent child tossing snowflakes across already painted, buried monochrome peaks. He trudged into the camp with her rambunctious adventuring party, shouted something over the whipping wind about how they should get warm inside one of the communal tents dotted around the sparse camp halfway up the summit you inhabited and then ducked into the burgundy tent you were working away in with nothing but the clinking of vials harmonizing with the bubbling of flames. It was nothing but candle light right then in the morbid lonely night, only the sounds of the howling gales outside of the ones in your lab. If you’d felt like you were being watched during the night before now, Albedo’s piercing analytical gaze did nothing but soothe the loneliness you’d held inside yourself all night.
“I need a strong multi use Geoculus locator, if we have any.” The blonde said
He must’ve seen your shoulders perk up because he waited patiently as you searched through the shelves upon shelves of prototypes you’ve developed. After somehow finding one, you patted over to him. He seemed pleased with your work, if a bit distant as usual. He was in a good mood so you guessed would be the best time if any to ask. “Sir… with all due respect why have you been away so long?”
Albedo’s pale face was blank as usual though he blinked as if surprised you spoke, “Lumine needed someone with a sufficient Geo vision, I happened to be the one she knew the best to get the job done.”
“So you’ll be returning?”
“I never said that.”
You tried not to take it harshly, this was just how he spoke after all. “…could I come along then?” It was a long shot yes but you still missed his company, if it meant having to deal with him getting buddy buddy with that Outrider then you would suffer.
It was quiet for a moment between you two as you stared him down and he observed the locator thoroughly. After he was pleased enough with the golden glowing device it was packed away into his back pocket without so much as a second thought, the man was obviously stalling while he thought carefully over the question but the result wouldn’t be to your liking evidently. You were about to make  a point you hoped would be convincing before he spoke, his voice sharp and words cold like the very ice being tossed around the blackened sky.
“No, you’re not a skilled enough fighter so you’d only slow us down more than we can handle to be right now. You’d be useless to us.” He put a hand to his chin for a moment in thought, “If you’d had been able to development a synthetic elemental burst like Sucrose’s swirl mark II…I would have considered but you can’t even do that.”
Watching him leave with them the morning after was torturous, they rushed off into the snowy landscape with barely a goodbye and never a second glance from Albedo beyond that. It stung.
Maybe that’s why when hilichurl camps, specifically ones becoming a nuisance to caravans as well as supply lines along Dragonspine almost avidly to the near point where there would be commissions called in, were brought up in conversation you elected to take a weapon and simply clear them out yourself. You could barely fight one off but usually they were smaller towards the base of the mountain so you figured it would be alright. You would just patch yourself up if you got a bit injured. Surely the pain of the injures would busy your silly little heart long enough to forget about Albedo and his cruel words to you, surely you would barricade your feelings of pining behind walls of broken bones and struggling through the snow. Maybe that was the remedy, the answer you needed to your mystery. Your pleas would probably be hidden by the snowstorms anyways.
Mitachurls unfortunately inhabited bigger camps. Thankfully, Frost Lawlichurls tended to live alone. The former happened to find it’s way to you, charging with the might of a bull on ozmanthys wine. As you were bowled over you heard an abrupt shout, maybe saw a brief flash of familiar golden light as the battle grounds around you erupted further into chaos but it didn’t matter that pale arms were abruptly gripping you to a panicked sword user. Your vision was to blurry, the shouts of attacks and spells too muffled and faint, your body felt too limp to comprehend even the though of moving. You could barely breathe.
Someone was muttering, crouched around you and holding you close, muttering something over and over again. Something important. The feeling of their lips pressed against your forehead, his quiet gut heaving sobs as he rocked you back and forth. Albedo’s pleas for you to just hang on a moment longer—
Where were you again?
There was sunlight and it was warm, a pleasant warmth that almost lulled you back to the sleep you’d fallen into. The only thing that kept you awake was that this was indeed not your bed.
Where were you?
Sitting up hurt, your whole body ached and you were certain something must have been rearranged or was missing because the pain shot through you like an arrow. Your sharp exhale alerted the two others in the room, one who immediately sprinted to get a nurse in an emerald and navy flurry of skirts and capes.
You were dizzy, only steadied by a gentle hand on your limp shoulder. Ah, when did you turn to face him?
The blonde man infront of you asked if you remembered what happened, his voice was soft but didn’t hold any emotion. The smoky circles around his beautiful striking cerulean eyes did nothing but worry you slightly as they implied a long period of time without sleep. You’d imagine him to be the sciency type who didn’t really know what to think of other people so he stayed nose deep in books to pass the time, though there was a deep sadness in the way he held himself you couldn’t understand.
“I don’t…who are you?” You thought you saw him flinch but figured it was a trick of the light.
“No one important, nevermind me.” The man sat up with an unreadable expression even for how blank it had been for this whole brief conversation after you had awoken, getting up from his chair to begin walking to the door when he stopped. “I’m sorry.”
“…for what?” You didn’t understand.
“Nothing that would natter now, please. Rest.”
You didn’t remember.
