Latest episode of X-Men ‘97, wow.

Omg there was so much going on in that episode can’t believe it was only 36 minutes.

Love square of Jean, Scott. Madelyne and Logan. Love triangle of Magneto, Rogue and Gambit, relationship drama galore.

I find it really amusing that Emma Frost has a front row seat to the drama with Jean, Madelyne and Scott like her own personal telenovela. Love that Madelyne has been forging her own path and becoming a part of the council of Genosha.

There’s a reporter doing a documentary about the X-Men and Xavier’s school. I’m a bit confused about Roberto being there. When we first meet him he’s a young rich party boy, heir to a wealthy Brazilian family that can just take a private jet wherever he wants to go and is ashamed and afraid of people, particularly his mother learning he’s a mutant so he leaves after episode one. Then he’s just always at the mansion hanging around with Jubilee and he’s in this documentary about a mutant school. Is he out to his family as a mutant or does he not care who knows anymore? I feel like this should’ve been addressed at some point.

Things are still really rocky with Scott and Jean, I can understand why he blew up at the reporter, she was being really invasive about his personal life and calling him a liar about having a son. And who was that doctor to make any statement about the birth? The bigot refused medical help to a woman in labour. But then he goes and has his psychic affair with Madelyne, dick move. And he’s been doing this since she left while shutting Jean out then turns everything around on her. Like Jean has been traumatised by what Sinister did to her. She doesn’t know how long he had her abducted, what he did while she was his prisoner, her mind is all messed up and on top of that her husband had a baby with her clone who had completely stolen her life (not Madelyne’s fault, this was 100% Sinister’s evil plan) and the only one who is actually supportive and understanding of her pain is Logan, no wonder she kissed him. Good on Logan for not trying to make the kiss into a big deal, Jean and Scott are married and he respects that even though he’s in love with her. The betrayal from Scott was even worse for Jean because their psychic connection has always been sacred between the two of them and her anchor when the Phoenix was overwhelming her and then he disregards all that because he’s in love with Madelyne too supposedly. Like I get their shared grief over having to give up their baby, it doesn’t give him a free pass to cheat on his wife.

Gambit was such a gentleman throughout the whole Rogue and Magento stuff, even though it was breaking his heart to see her with another man he respected her choice, didn’t try to blame or shame her about it and said they can be friends still. Rogue had a really rough time this episode. From the start of this season I felt uncomfortable with this Rogue and Magento pairing but when she explained their history to Gambit it was even worse because it just sounded like grooming and made Magento a creepy sexual predator. So Rogue ran away from home as a teenager after the trauma of putting the first boy she kissed in a coma and being rejected by her dad, gets taken in by Mystique who gets her to use her powers as part of her mutant terrorist group then brings this vulnerable teenage girl who is afraid to touch anyone to a middle aged man to help her control her powers and instead of doing that he fills her head with his ideologies and because he can touch her without it hurting either of them they become lovers. 🤢🤮 so creepy. Magento leverages the council of Genosha that he will only lead them if he can take Rogue as his “Queen” or co leader to the public, so she feels backed into a corner after seeing how amazing things on Genosha were for mutants now. Then after that amazing dance scene she realises that Gambit is the man she truly loves and what they have is more meaningful and goes beyond being able to touch and she chooses her swamp rat only to lose them both by the end of the episode.

The attack on Genosha was brutal but it was so amazingly done. Cable traveling back through time to try and warn everyone about the attack even though it goes against the rules of time travel, seeing Madelyn for a moment, her recognising him as her son by his eyes and him calling her “mom” as he got pulled back through time. The music, the chaos and panic you could literally feel through the screen, Magneto’s holocaust flashbacks, the Morlocks being trapped and thinking no one was coming to save them, Nightcrawler almost dying saving Rogue and Magneto.

Rogue and Gambit were the ultimate power couple fighting their way to the Morlocks, a better dance than the one she had with Magneto. Magneto saving Rogue and Gambit while he tried to shelter the Morlocks from the sentinel blast, so tragic. Then Gambit saves Rogue from getting herself killed by attacking the sentinel in a rage, takes it on by himself to save everyone and destroys it but sacrificing his own life in the process 😭.

The tragedy is they foreshadowed this in the first episode when Jean/Madelyne went into Trask’s mind and then both Jean and Madelyne got a psychic premonition of the attack just before it happened but were unable to do anything to stop it.

When the dust settles at the end you see the X-Men witness the aftermath of the attack, the few surviving mutants gather around the crater where Rogue is cradling Remy’s body. She’s finally able to touch him but only because he’s dead. “Sugah. I can’t feel you.” 💔

That killed me at the end, was so shocked that they killed Magneto and Gambit within minutes of each other. I know they probably won’t be dead forever but fuck that was brutal.

I know next week’s episode is gonna be Storm centric so we’ll probably have to wait 2 weeks to see what happens with the rest of the X-Men and hopefully by then Storm is ready to rejoin the team. There was a moment in the Genosha attack where Val Cooper is helping evacuate mutants to the gardens and she looks back at the sentinels and there’s this look in her eye that made me wonder is she Val Cooper or Mystique in disguise? We haven’t seen Mystique in the show so far but what if she’s been there all along? Maybe she was afraid of being exposed as an imposter by the sentinels because they’d know she’s not human.

Speaking of Magento and his identities, wasn’t there some to do about him supposed to be Xorn originally too?

With all the best will in the world, I am not going to explain Xorneto or the post-Morrison retcon in detail, because it simply does not make sense on any kind of Watsonian level and it makes my head hurt trying to hold the whole thing in my mind at the same time.

All you need to understand is that for their own sui generis reasons having to do with their love of Silver Age comics over Bronze Age comics and their family background in the non-violent anti-nuclear movement, Morrison infamously despised Magneto. And so they set out to write the last Magneto story that could ever be told, which culminates with a drug-addled master of magnetism enacting a human genocide in Manhattan.

While Grant Morrison's New X-Men is rightfully considered to have been one of the greatest runs post-Claremont, this particular plotline and character arc (in a run that was not exactly lacking for shocking twists and unusually adult themes) proved to be the most controversial aspect of the run - to the point where Marvel editorial immediately retconned it as having been actually the work of Xorn who had pretended to be Magneto pretending to be Xorn. (And let's not even get into Zorn, and no that's not a typo.)

For a fuller explanation, I would point you towards the excellent Cerebrocast episode featuring Spencer Ackerman, which features a respectful but passionate debate between Connor Goldsmith and Spencer over the merits of Morrison's story and the ensuing retcon. For what it's worth, I side with Spencer; I think that as powerful as the story at the time was, it was ultimately a mistake by a gifted creator who never resonated with why Claremont's original retcon was so essential to making the character one that people cared about.

Logan, Jean, Ororo, and Y/N sat on one side of the campfire, while Magneto and Mystique sat on the other. They stared at each other in silence. You fidgeted in your spot, staring into the fire until it made your face hot and your eyes tear up slightly. You blinked rapidly before looking down at the grass, digging your boots into the dirt below.

“His name is William Stryker.” Magneto finally spoke.

“What does he want?” Ororo asked as she sat on the log in front of the fire.

Logan glared at Magneto, not trusting the man before him, “That’s exactly the same question we should be asking Magneto.” Logan answered, irritated, and the man in question just sighed as Logan continued, “So, what is it? What do you want?”

“When Stryker invaded your mansion he stole an essential piece of its hardware.” Magneto spoke as Ororo pursed her lips in confusion, her eyes narrowed.

“Cerebro?” She asked as Magneto shifted in his seat.

Magneto cleared his throat before speaking, “Charles and I built Cerebro as a tool, a tool I believed would unite us all. But, the good Professor, as with all things, never truly explored its full potential.” He explained as you, Jean, and Ororo listened carefully, as Logan boiled in his seat. “In the wrong hands, I fear it could be used as a powerful weapon against mutants.”

He finished.

“But Stryker would need the Professor to operate it.” Jean spoke up, as Magneto nodded.

“Which is the only reason why I think he’s still alive.” Magneto said deeply.

Logan glared at Magneto, unable to push his suspicions away, what did he have planned?

At the kid’s camp, Pyro stared at the fire, lost in it as Bobby turned to Rouge. “Can you hear what they’re saying?” He asked his girlfriend as she shook her head.

“They’re too quiet.” She stated.

“I… I can get a closer look.” Kurt said sheepishly, wanting to help the teens.

“How?” Rouge asked him, tilting her head.

In a cloud of smoke, Kurt vanished as the teens stared at each other, impressed.

“Nice.” Bobby said, a small grin on his face.

High above the campfire, the Nightcrawler hung upside-down by his tail. No one noticed him as Logan continued to glare at Magento, not believing him at all. “How would Stryker know where Cerebro is or how it works?”

Magneto paused, he lifted his hand and rubbed the back of his neck, exposing his round scar. He seemed flustered and resigned before he spoke up once more, “Because I told him. Stryker has positive methods of… Persuasion, even against a mutant as strong as Charles.”

Magneto continued.

“Please understand if we don’t take it all in good faith, but why do you need us?” Ororo asked, tilting her head to the side, as Magneto cleared his throat.

“Stryker has a base he’s been operating out of for decades. And I don’t know where it is. But I suspect one of you might.” He turned to Logan and eyed him skeptically.

Logan ignored Magento’s gaze, “Who the hell is this Stryker anyway?”

“Are you sure you don’t remember, Logan? The metal on your bones carries his signature.” Magneto said as Logan just stared at him.

The understanding escaped through his body. Magneto looked to Jean, she looked back to Magneto. “But the Professor tried…” Logan began only for Magento to interrupt him.

“No, he didn’t. He's always known.”

Realization gave way to much doubt and dishonesty. Logan turned to Jean.

“I can’t. If those memories exist, they’re buried very deep.” Jean spoke, frowning as Logan turned to stare at the fire.

A long moment of stillness went on until someone conversed. The night air was chill but the fire in front of the X-Team, Magneto, and Mystique kept them warm. Crickets could be heard, chirping, hiding in the bushes and tall grass. You bit your lip briefly, rubbing your hands together as you tried to warm them. You tried to choose whether or not to speak up or not. You never really spoke about your past or any of your other powers. This was going to be a huge step for you, but this was important to Logan and the team… Mostly to Logan. You knew that if you were in his position, you’d want to know what had happened in your forgotten past.

You looked over at Logan, his dark eyes lit up by the flames of the fire in front of him. A deep frown laid on his face, his hair disheveled and hands clasped tightly on his lap. You could feel the pain radiating off of him. You needed to speak up.

“I can do it.” Everyone turned towards you, making you feel a little bit nervous with all the sudden eyes on you.

“I thought you had teleportation?” Ororo asked, confused as you let out a small hiss through your teeth, rubbing the back of your neck.

“Oh, I do. But, that’s not all I can do.” You spoke before explaining, “I was… I was experimented on when I was little. The scientists injected me with stuff and electrified my mind in hopes of me getting a genetic mutation or any mutation for that matter. At the end of their torture, I ended up with mind mutations powers.” You finished, unable to look anyone in the eyes as you finally told your truth.

“What can you do?” Jean asked, making you shrug a shoulder, fidgeting with a patch on the left arm of your jacket.

“I- I can read memories, and I can erase memories, and more. And I think I could do it.” Minutes later, everyone sat silently as they watched you leave your spot and walk over to Logan. Sitting down beside him, you turned your body to face him. Waiting patiently, you watched as Logan slowly turned to you, staring down at you uncertainly. Slowly, you reached both your hands out towards his face, making his back a bit. “Chillax.” You tried to calm him with a soft whisper. You closed your eyes, your hands finding their place on his stubbled cheeks, your fingers brushing his temple.

Logan looked at you before closing his own eyes, “I hope you know what you’re doing…” He muttered, only for you to shush him.

“Shut up, I’m working here.”

You grimaced as blurry visions from Logan’s mind flashed in your mind. Your mind saw many images, blurry and confusing, coming and going swiftly until it came to one. You could see Logan clearly. He was at a bar, talking to a military officer. It flashed again to Logan riding in the back of a military truck. The truck was driving past a tremendous frozen barrier, entering a tunnel from above ground. There was snowfall everywhere. It flashed again, Logan walked into a medical lab, doctors crowded around a giant tank. Then, in the last vision, you watched in horror as Logan screamed and yelled in pain. The water in the tank splashing and sloshing around as he trembled and tried to escape the restraints. With a flash, the images end. You pull away, exhausted, you hold onto your head as your heart raced; trying to regain your breath. You held back tears as you looked up at Logan.

“Stryker is at Alkali Lake.” You answered, your voice soft, as the others around you looked at you in shock.

“I was just there. I saw that base. Nothing’s left.” Logan said insistently, as you only shook your head, regretting it after as a headache began to spawn.

“That’s because he’s below it.” You muttered, before quickly getting up from the old log and heading over to the teenagers.

Logan watched as you left, his hands clenching and unclenching before he reluctantly looked away. He stared back at the fire, wanting to know what you had seen. You were able to break through his mind, past the barrier, and see his past. You were able to see what he went thought, and he wanted to know what it was. For years he was searching for the answers... And you had them all. Glancing over to the teens' fire, you sat on the cold, damp grass, holding the side of your head.

Logan wanted to go over there and talk to you, but what you had done for him had seemed to have taken a lot out of you. He didn't want to bother you, no matter how desperately he wanted to know about his forgotten past. Logan also began to wonder, as he watched as you flopped onto the grass below you, he wondered more about you... And why he was feeling this way.

I feel like that platonic yan parent could also work in the reverse. What if reader was also abandoned by Magneto (like he did with Scarlet Witch) and turns out to have strong powers she uses for the X-Men?

Now, do you mean a Reader who is Magento's child instead of Xavier's? Or a child who is both of theirs'? I'll go with if they were Magneto's child this time around:

Reader has noticed that their father was always... distant. Cold. Down to business, and it better he good, or you'll have a metal door slammed in your face (if not your whole body). They knew they weren't the only one trying to please him. Everyone was trying. The Acolytes, the Brotherhood, even their own siblings, Pietro and Wanda... It was almost scary, how their father left them to their own devices. Left them waiting in the wings. But was it them, or... did he actually like their siblings more than them?

It's not like it's a competition. Not for Reader, anyway. Pietro, though, ehhh... Everything's a competition to him. And Wanda is the most powerful mutant they've seen, besides their father and The Professor. Yet even so, he never checks on them. Never sends a message. He doesn't even look at them. It's like they don't exist in his world. And...

It's just not fair.

They're just as strong as Wanda, just as quick as Pietro (in words, at least), and they're his own blood. Doesn't that mean anything to him? To anyone? No. The answer is obvious, and it stings. He views them as less than their own siblings, less than his Acolytes, maybe even less than the other Brotherhood teens. But it's not like they didn't inherit anything from their family. Besides immense power (the power to make something out of nothing, to warp reality, to bend the fabric of the universe to their will), they certainly kept the family stubbornness. Maybe they aren't worth dirt to their father, to their family...

But who says they can't make their own worth without them? They aren't the only mutants, and if one group won't acknowledge them... maybe the other group will...?

Here's Kastiya Mas, best known as KM! He's Zhask's son, and is a skilled self-trained archer and alchemist (this one comes from mom).

A little about the smol bean: READMORE

Name: Kastiya Mas

His name means 'Luck of Kastiya'. Kastiya was the planet he was named after. Various interpretations of the name can be found if you asked its inhabitants before the planet blew up, including 'Home', 'Protection', 'Prosperity', and 'Source of Power'. He is Zhask's greatest achievement.

Alias: Green Reaper, pufferfish (and many other nicknames) (by Dylan), son (by Zhask), little one (by Rista)

Age: In the above image, 16.

I have many different designs for him, each featuring a different insect as a base. For his current age as shown, his base is a Malaysian giant click beetle mixed with various other cute beetles I've found.

Occupation: Assassin, Informant, Weaver, Street Performer

He began working for Rista at the young age of nine, soon after he ran away from the Eruditio due to constant bullying on him and his previous caretaker. While he was working for Rista, his current caretaker, he became her informant due to how small and talented he was. She learned his squeaks so their messages were naturally encoded. He also worked to clean the carriage and give Erebus headpats.

As an assassin, he uses his bow and arrows, sometimes using a butterfly knife for close-quarters combat. His victims have never been found, only their eyeballs. He usually takes them home to store and eat.

He has never been caught, and will never be caught. He is unregistered in any database. His victims are on missing persons lists and he beams with pride whenever he sees the notice boards grow. He does not discriminate between men, women, children, either-ors, neither-nors, or animals. He is a threat. Don't bother locking your doors, don't bother with guns or bats. He will find you. He will kill you. And he will devour you raw.

Weaving is more of his hobby than anything. He sells off his handmade clothes for a fair price, affordable even to the poor. He weaves many things, including tapestries, clothes, carpets, and curtains. It's a lucrative business, and he can't help but keep it going.

Special powers: Implosion and Explosion

First discovered during a board meeting Zhask had with fellow informants, diplomats, and advisors. He was chewing on a salt cookie when his powers arose. He imploded the entire room, crushing anyone unlucky enough to be within the radius and turning their insides out quite gorily, and exploded them back out. There were only three survivors, Zhask, his wife, and baby Kastiya's maid. All of them thankfully on the other side of the table when it happened.

Zhask thought much of his power due to such a risk (after all, such power could kill him) but the moment he started crying and squeaking he just couldn't bear to. He picked him up, dusted off the shrapnel and blood, and gave him a nuzzle. And no more salt. Only sodium supplements.

After some research he learned that this was an ancient power that formed this planet. It was a power held by their ancestors who shaped mountains and rivers and caverns. A special son was born, and he couldn't pass out on this opportunity. There was a reason his name was Kastiya. Initially for honour, now he bore history.

He would not control this power until he turns 17, with Dylan's (his boyfriend) help. It would further be expanded upon by Zhask and completed at the age of 22.

He pulls in carbon based lifeforms and metals. He's like Magneto, if Magento also pulls in people and twists their guts inside out.

Flaws: Lack of outer exoskeletal plating, learned to read at 16 with Dylan's help, learned to count at 15 when his assassination payments felt off.

As a child he used to be a prodigy, having learned to read and count at the very young age of thirty-six months. Sadly, those were Kastiyan numbers and letters, and communication was squeaking so he did roughly in Eruditian schools. He avoided writing, reading, and counting altogether due to trauma-related incidents and he mostly did his work on pattern recognition and memorization. He can talk but he's illiterate until taught.

Due to his lack of an outer exoskeleton, he would be considered disabled by fellow Kastiyans since their definition of disabled is based on environmental survivability and sustainability. KM is more prone to severe injuries, illnesses, and above all, a really bad back.

History:

Hatched from an egg. Molted into a toddler-shaped Kastiyan at 6 months old. Learned to read and count at 1½ years old. Began learning princely duties at 5 years old. Kastiya exploded at 8 years old.

Spent six months in the Eruditio, and ran away from home aftere severe neglect, bullying, abuse, and overall general displeasure. Came to Rista's carriage and worked for her. Worked as a back-and-forth informant until 20 years old.

Killed his previous caretaker after an accident at the age of 16. He was talking with one of KM's victims and left the room. Soon after, KM took the shot. The arrow went in through an open window and he died. His caretaker came in for an item he left behind and saw the scene, reporting it to the authorities immediately. KM swooped in to claim the body unnoticed after he left the scene to call for help.

Returned to his distressed caretaker's home to apologise, but after receiving death threats he killed him with his bare hands. Couldn't bear to eat him, so just left him there.

Molted into juvenile at 13 years old. Began weaving at 13 years old. Began assassinating at 15 years old. Fell in love at 16 with a dolphin prince, Dylan. Met with Zhask at the age of 17. Learned how to count at the age of 15. Learned how to read at 16. Learned how to control power from 17 to 22. Adulthood molt at 21. Laid an egg at 24. Named her Carrie (wifey we'll talk about her later).

Lost his virginity on his 18th birthday. Thanks Dylan!

Armour:

Coloured in such a way for light-based eyestrain and camouflage. Strategic armour wearing protects internal exoskeleton and regulates body temperature. UwU mask claimed as a 'gift' from one of his victims.

Chainmail skirt because he's a femboy. Also owns a pair of pink bunny headphones.

Wing pattern:

Kastiyan Royal Insignia.

Initially a doodle by Zhask in the margins of his schoolwork, he pranked his people on his 34th birthday by announcing the change to the royal insignia. Expecting to reveal the truth that it was a prank by sundown, he was shocked to see the people adopting it, tolerating it, being very accepting of it. So after a hilariously hysterical board meeting it was changed to symbolise Zhask's his power and success.

Happy birthday, dad!

A year later, KM was born, and as soon as he hatched from an egg, he funnily enough had the insignia birthmarked onto his back. An obvious way of saying "PROPERTY OF ZHASK DO NOT TOUCH OR YOU DIE".

After a toddler molt, it appeared on the underside of his wings. In his juvenile molt, it appeared on the outside of his wings, and assisted in Zhask's recognition of him the first time they met. It's as if it knew they would reunite.

Insignia disappeared in adulthood. After an illness leaving him in critical condition (Cordyceps), Zhask had to dissect him and found out that the insignia was inside his body all this time. AS THE ORGAN PLACEMENT.

I SHIT YOU NOT HIS ORGANS WERE ARRANGED EXACTLY LIKE THE INSIGNIA.

To honour his survival and this newfound discovery,he had it succubus/incubus-tattooed onto his lower stomach, courtesy of Alice.

Skill 2: Potions. Like Luo Yi, potions that will be thrown will be shown. One of three in a medium range. Healing, Damage, Stun.

Skill 3: Keytar. KM pulls out his keytar and shoots out his dagger-keys. Has a timer and an attack limit like Yve's ultimate. Medium range.

Ultimate: KM ingests salt (ultimate loading animation like Zhask) and implodes, pulling in all enemies and enemy minions, damaging them and leaving them in an airborne state. Will explode them out in various locations, also dealing damage and leaving them stunned. Ultimate can be used multiple times within 10 seconds, but damage decreases with each usage so make the first implosion count!

Recall animation: Gay hand flip.

Trivia:

Has a black cat named Michael. It can stand on two legs.

Has a pair of pink fluffy bunny-eared headphones.

Talks with a hint of a squeak, like Valentino from Hazbin Hotel.

You were the daughter of a human and a Quareen creature. There was no love in the relationship and from a young age he left you and your mother alone. Your mother worked very hard and had so much determination to create a good life for you. Your powers came to you when you were nine years old. It was after a gym class where a boy had kicked a ball to the back of your head. It hurt a bit and you went to the nurse's office to get an ice pack. Later that day, your head began to hurt terribly, you were sensitive to sound, light and movement. Then you started hearing all the voices and you started seeing their nightmares. You would wake up in the middle of night, your dream about your classmate being hunted.

Then one year you showed your true Quareen form. You remember growing severely embarrassed by a child that you had grown feverish. Then you transformed into fiery dangerous natural figure of a Quareen. Your mother had pulled you from the school and you started going to school at the local church. She had been very strict about hiding your powers and wanting you to act normal. Then one day she had made you angry and you lit the house on fire, killing your mother in the process.

When you met Erik it was a busy day in the office you worked at. You were a personal assistant always ridiculed and never thanked. ERik had noticed something different about you. You had come into the room, a fresh cup of coffee for your boss, the man had the audacity to spill the drink over your white blouse, embarrassing you. The coffee didn't burn your skin because you ran hot but your bra showed through the material of your shirt.

Erik had been the one to make the man shut up, you quickly learned that Erik was coming after your boss to kill him. You hadn't stopped him and even showed him your powers. He had a fascination with you, the way you would focus on your victim, their heart beginning to face, sweat beaded on their forehead, their body trembled in fear. Erik had been turned on by your power, your victim fell to their knees, their hand clutching at his chest as his life was taken away from him.

He had immediately asked you out for a drink where you shared your secrets and revealed your past. In the short time you felt as though you could trust him, and he decided to never take that for granted.

The two of you were on a mission, you were in a fitting gray dress. Erik had worn a crisp gray suit, purple highlighted in his tie and handkerchief. To combat the cold, you wore a matching purple coat while he opted for a gray Hench coat and hat. Erik was there to present something valuable to the man, he would hopefully want this item and Erik will be able to gain information. He had sat the briefcase on the desk before opening it to reveal blocks of Nazi gold.

"Possession of that gold is illegal. I should inform the police." The man started, though Erik was hardly phased as he blinked at the man.

"Let's not play this game." Erik suggested.

"Where did you get it?"

"A friend. He recommended your bank most highly."

"I see. Do you know our terms, sir?"

"Yes, and you should know mine." Erik smiled at the man before reaching forward to look at the pictures on his desk. He sets them down, his face growing serious. "This is blood money, and you are going to help me find the bastards responsible for this." he paused, staring up at the man, you redirected your eyes to see Erik holding back the man from pressing what you assumed was a panic button. Erik clicked his tongue, shaking his index finger at the man.

"Now you are going to hit yourself." You spoke in the man's mind as his hand went flying up to hit himself in the face.

"Don't touch that alarm." Erik warned, as he stood from his chair and rounded the desk. "I want Schmidt. Klaus Schmidt." Erik hit at the man's chest. "Where is he??"

"Our clients don't prove addresses. We're not-." He started before Erik lurched forward.

"Not that sort of bank, huh?" Erik's hand came up to the man's face, two fingers pinching together as the man began groaning in pain. "Metal fillings, eh?" he mocked, as he continued to pull with his magnetic force. "Not gold. Worried someone might steal them?"

"Argentina! Schimdt is in Argentina!" The man yelled. "Villa Gesel! Please!" Erik pulled harder, one of the metal fillings flinging to his hand. The man's hand came up to grasp his mouth. You moved forward as Erik said, "Thank you."

"I would love to kill you." Erik remarked. "So, mark my words. If you harm anyone, I'm coming...we will find you." He moved away from the man as you stepped closer.

You dipped your chin, connecting into the man's mind, "You will never speak of this, but you will never forget."

Some Details On The X-Men Swap Au That I’m Currently Writing A Oneshot On:

Erik is in a wheelchair and had telepathy and still Jewish. Charles can walk and has metal manipulation and the magnetism thing going on and is still old money rich.(can’t decide if I want Charles to have also been shot but makes metal leg braces and uses his powers to make himself walk and no one but Hank and maybe Emma is aware of it.) Raven is not Charles’s sister (or Erik’s) but is Erik’s right hand. Hank is slightly crazy but is the one person Charles trusts completely from the X-men. Charles was basically sold to Shaw as a kid by his mom(mommy issues). Emma loves to mess around with Charles and they somewhat grew up together but it’s still hostile.

Charles basically adopts Wanda,Pietro/Peter, and Lorna because Erik kinda refuses to acknowledge that those are legitimately his kids. It isn’t on purpose but like it happens(comedically). The kids (they are in their teens) are still with The Brotherhood but call Charles their other dad. He actually tries to bond with them and teaches Lorna how to control her powers better, and Wanda and Peter too. Always gives gifts that are specific to them and genuinely cares about them.

Charles took Shaw’s helmet and is dramatic but not exactly to the scale like Magento(OG Erik.) As a kid, Charles had two metal balls floating above his head (about the size of a baseball) that represented his emotions(they would spasm if he was angry) and were very flexible to manipulate to other objects if needed. He stopped using them because they gave what he was really feeling away and he used the metal to replace Shaw’s helmet after it got lost or something.

Charles nearly got his degree while Erik has it so he is called The Professor. I didn’t come up with a name for Charles and I didn’t feel like Magneto will fit that well.

So Magda is switched with Moira. David doesn’t exist here but I felt like I should mention him.

The Brotherhood swap with the X-men but some of the X-men are with the Brotherhood and vice versa if that makes sense.

I can't help it that feel worry when X-men finally arrive in mcu while mcu like do victims blaming and not understand what meaning of hero and good person/ being hero and good is by claim and not what they do

Seriously I feel scare , X-men have a lot racist, facist and genocide issues and seeing how mcu now it's make me think that they will screw X-men so badly

The mcu's don't push against the status quo in too harsh of way ideology does not bold well for the mutants. Seeing the way Loki is treated, seeing the way Kali is the villain makes me really fear for Magento.

If I can say here, I problem I often with the mutants is sometimes writers lean in hard in making the metaphor too specific. Like it's mutants are metaphor for being gay and that's it. For some character that concept of being anywhere on LGBTQ+ just isn't applicable to their character or power. Not all writers do that, but is a frequent problem. I think a lot of writers miss the chance to make stories about the intersectionality that mutants would face. Sometimes mutant would be more like being a different ethnicity, sometimes it more like being queer and sometimes it be more like having a disability and even within those differences it could still affect individual in much different ways.

Because of the floating timeline of marvel comics it has meant mutants are kind of stuck in this perpetual status quo where no progress is ever made and passive resistance is the only acceptable form of protest.

What I think is so important for X-men writers to understand is what it's like to be discriminated against. What is like to be a truly different kind of person and that difference being something that can't be changed or covered up. Story will have to deal how one adjust to the world that might not want them or actively be against them but is a story that is about finding one's place and gaining self-acceptance.

In the comics Wanda is a powerful mutant who has face discrimination, has struggled with mental illness and has had difficulties controlling her powers. But she managed to pull herself together, find peace and live happily. MCU Wanda has faced similar, and her ending is to get crushed by rocks because she's too powerful and crazy. Understand why there are so many characters I don't trust with the MCU right now.

MCU sympathies with the people maintaining the system even its failing or actively harmful over the people who push back in extreme ways to change things. What is Stryker going to be? Some man with a sob story who just means well

I was wondering when you were going to ask me a question.

One thing thing to do know about Peter is don't make him angry. He's a pretty chill dude. Sure, he may have his Dadneto's stubbornness, self-loathing, Metallokinetics, sarcasm and dry humor; but also his anger and wraith.

However, unlike his father, his anger takes more time to get out of him, a lot of the time he goes straight to sadness and self-deprecation instead of anger. But, when he does show his rage and anger, boy it can give Erik a run for his money; as Peter isn't used to dealing it. Causing power malfunctions in his metalbending...very scary stuff.

Peter's anger is a slow build, it takes a lot. but when it happens its expulsive; he stays angry after the fact While Erik's anger is there, but he can control it and balance it with serenity like geothermal; staying on that spectrum he specialized in some forms of metalbending, but is consistent.

All I'm saying is that you do not fuck the Magento or his family or anyone that Erik holds dearest to him.

"If you two are going to the NPP," Piotr dropped on his designated spot by the campfire, "I need you to collect a few slime samples, and get reading from the magento-sonic -"

"Who told you we're going to the power plant?" Beaver interrupted, his spoon of chtchi paused halfway between his bowl and his mouth.

'Us?' Slava silently asked, with a raised eyebrow, as she pointed to Beaver, then to herself.

"Well, that girl you've been following for the past two weeks is going, sp I figured you'd follow her there too." Piotr replied, confusion slowly slipping into his voice.

"I mean, if you need those readings that bad,"

"I'm not going." Slava interrupted.

"What, too scared of the radiation, Monolith, the military and the psychic mutants?" Beaver jokingly asked.

"No, I know a tunnel that'd let us sneak in from the radio city,"

"Dygha?"

Slava nodded.

"The Union might have fallen, but the infrastructure is still there. Failsafe upon failsafe, escape route upon escape route," Piotr added, not without a touch of nostalgia for a time he never knew.

The topic changed to Soviet infrastructures, as Beaver trailed on about the some bunker by his place back in Kiev in between two slurps of soup.

"What we're we talking about anyway?" He eventually noticed that his companions were visibly getting bored.

"The NPP."

"And how I'm not going."

"But why? You love that stuff. Artefacts, fuckers to kill," Beaver insisted.

"Well for starters I need to do a cig run by Cordon,"

Without a word, Piotr threw her a sealed pack of Donskoi Tobak. She nearly caught it, and it landed on her lap. She examined the brown packet with a smile before continuing:

"And second, when people go to the NPP, be they good or bad, they start talking about the wishgranter. What would you do? What would you get? Who would you kill? Who would you sell? I can't stand that."

Beaver scoffed.

"You can't stand stalkers talking about their hopes and dreams?"

"If they had hopes and dreams they wouldn't be here."

"That's harsh. What about science, wanderlust, duty towards the people outside?"

"Not everyone has these same noble thoughs about science and the betterment of humanity as you."

Slava got up, pocketed the pack of cigarettes, and wiped off dirt from her jacket. She headed towards where she'd stashed her other supplies, and began gearing up under the slightly offended gaze of Beaver.

"So no data then?" Piotr pleaded.

"No. I'll leave you boys to it." She threw her backpack over her shoulders, with as much ease as her kevlar would allow. "But you might have a point about duty. Maybe you should pay that old friend of ours a visit?"

"Fedya what's his name?"

"Fedor Okeseivych Vorobev?"

"Hell, I don't know his full name. Yeah, the short bald man. He's shit at taking lead, but-"

The two men simultaneously scoffed at Slava's last phrase. She rolled her eye and threw her hands up in the air.

"Whatever. I'm not even surprised. He'd go if you ask real nice,"

"Like 'on my knees' nice?" Beaver asked with that half flirty half joking tone he liked to use.

"Maybe if we give him real good directions, he'd be able to go all of the way," Piotr added.

"I'll be in Cordon. Screw you both," Slava stormed off, presumably west, away from the marshlands.

As always I would encourage you to take it easy where you can, friend :) I'm doing well, thank you for asking, and to answer your question, the reason I like those kinds of AUs and relationships isn't anything that complicated, I just...find them really wholesome ^^ With them, you're always guaranteed a certain level of fluff and slice-of-life goodness that's easy to imagine and can help get you through your day when you need that extra little bit of warmth in your day, ya'know? :D As for why I prefer it with some X-Men characters, well, I have two reasons. Firstly, with the multiverse being an extremely canon thing in Marvel, especially X-Men in this case, it makes the idea of these relationships and stories a kind of canon in themselves, and it's always so fun to explore that ^^ To explain that a little more and get into the second reason, when you're dealing with the X-Men, some of the most exciting and complex Marvel characters of all time, you know these situations are going to be more than just a daily routine, there's always going to be some twist/emotional adventure to explore along the way, and it adds a whole new depth to the situation. True, you could argue that to be the case with just about any fictional character but...c'mon, it's the X-Men! xD As for your soon-to-be recent viewing of the first two episodes of X-Men '97, I promise you a real treat, but, I am obligated to not spoil a thing ^^ Except this: OMG HANK FINALLY SAID THE THING!!! :DDDD

No worries, Beast Anon! I am glad to hear from you again, and there is no set time or need to respond immediately. What happens happens. And I finally started watching the first episode of X-Men 97 and so far, my thoughts are as follows:

• Roberto you sweet, poor child... You don't know the half of it-

• Who the f*ck is hiding Sentinel parts?! They're fr*cking HUGE, how does someone just move that around?! Someone knows something, how can you not when a single Sentinel arm is bigger than a car-!

• Go Morph! Mighty Morph-ling Power Ranger! (Well, X-Man)

• Wolverine, dude, please get over the love triangle; you and Scott were friends once, can you two get some team or friend therapy and try to talk about it for once?

• Where is the official team therapist? Nor the therapist friend, the actual certified therapist-

• Let the kids have fun!

• Roberto, they viewer-insert/new guy who is how everyone would react to the crazy shenanigans of the X-Men and Marvel

• Mr. Xavier, I am starting to believe you and Magneto really WERE more than friends, or were some form of QPR at the least

• And Magento is back! And more... oddly looking well for someone who is in their... 70s, I think? Wow. He's doing good (if you aren't counting losing his best bud and possible boyfriend, not to mention inheriting aforementioned friend's family, school, and property)

Aaaaand that is about how far I've gotten. I need to play a little catch-up😅😊

And now I really want to see Beast and Carla get together/have a secret date, watch Wolverine and Morph or Wolverine and Storm become a couple, get more Sabretooth and the Brotherhood in this show (please please please let them be brothers) (sorry fandom members who ship them, I view them platoncially!), hopefully they introduce Laura/X-23 at some point, someone let Rogue and Gambit get together, we know that is likely endgame, and yes yes yes Roberto can be Jubilee's friend (and maybe sibling?) (Whatcha wanna bet she's wanted one since the first year?)

And woo! Yes, platonic yandere genre! I get the points you've made: Platonic yandere could be canon in some way, and it's Marvel, so canon is a bag of 40+ flavor jellybeans and a 45+ flavor milkshake stand... Also, yes, X-Men add a certain flair to the platonic yandere trope. Surprise, super-poweree genetically enhanced people, and this random teen/young adult/child who they somehow procured. Que a normal Tuesday of crazy villains, more insane humans, some weird relationship issues and the break-up then make-up, and (gasp) surprise! You have been blessed with this new character to love! They're called Reader, they can be sweet at times, they are willing to use a metal bat as a weapon, and oh, and they are as addictive to y'all as catnip is to cats!

May I ask your top three favorite X-Men characters? Top three favorite heroes, and favorite villain, so four favorite characters? Do you enjoy how I write them (if I have written for them) as platonic yanderes? Do you want an older teen/adult cartoon or anime where the X-Men are platonic yandere over someone? I myself do, and I would have so manh ideas on it! Are there any duo platonic yanderes you like, where two team up over Reader or are both interested in the same one? (Ex. Rogue and Gambit, Kurt and Rogue, Wolverine and Sabretooth, etc.)
