Reader x Law: Wano-Pre-Raid on Onigashima
Authors note: Been watching Wano and these characters just inspire lots during this arc. Feel free to comment! Criticism is accepted in order to help my writing. Feel free to offer suggestions or more fic ideas! Next I’m working on some monster trio and Law drabbles I think, but other ideas are accepted and appreciated. Let me know your thoughts below. I know I want just 5 minutes alone with this man, as I know others feel the same, here it is. Thanks! I watch the English version where the Starwhats call Law, Traffy.
Law isn’t Traffy to you.
Features: Law
Summary: Law has just returned from being captured by Drake and Hawkins. Luffy sends you to see if Law and his crew are still down for the raid on the night of the Fire Festival. Law is interested in more than just the raid…
Warnings: Minors DNI, NSFW, Smut, fluff, Vaginal sex, fingering, ass/pussy slapping, pet names, “good girl”, Dom Law, teasing, I don’t own these characters
You and your crewmates, the Strawhats, are preparing outfits and hanging out at Kuri beach the night before the raid on Onigashima. Law, having escaped imprisonment by Hawkins and Drake, has rounded up his crew and is camping on his submarine nearby. You and your crewmates knew Law had been captured and had heard from some of the Heart Pirates he had come back in rough shape. You and the rest of the crew were now discussing who was going to touch base with the Heart pirates and reiterate the new plan to them.
“I’m going to go check in with Traffy and make sure he and his crew are still ready for tomorrow. Sanji, can I have a snack when I get back?” Luffy asks as he begins to walk toward the Polar Tang.
“You just ate! No you can’t have a snack!” Sanji yells.
Luffy’s stomach growls. You look over at the Polar Tang, knowing Law was back safely with his crew caused a soft smile to form across your face. You had only known him briefly as a result of the alliance formed between your crews. You couldn’t help, but like the mysteriously passionate and jaded captain of the Heart Pirates. Your crew had driven him insane during your partnership, but you knew what you accomplished at Dressrosa had made it worth it to him. You couldn’t believe that the raid tomorrow could mean the end of it, the end of seeing him. You frowned slightly and shook your head, as you returned to examine the outfit you had picked out.
“Luffy if you go you’ll just make Traffy angry! He’s been through a lot, let someone else go.” Nami urged.
“What do you mean? Traffy and I are friends!” Luffy yelled back, stopping in his tracks.
“Send Y/N. Traffy has rarely gotten annoyed with her our whole journey together. He’ll be honest with her.” Robin says, looking at you with a soft chuckle.
“But I wanted to see Traffy!” Luffy yells.
“You’ll see him tomorrow. He needs his rest, Let Y/N go.” Robin reinstructs.
“Fine. Y/N. Go check in on Traffy and his crew, make sure they are still ready for tomorrow.” Luffy says to you sternly.
You finish the twirl you started to do in the yellow, kunichi dress you had picked out for the battle tomorrow. You turned your head and looked at your captain with furrowed eyebrows.
“Why me?” You asked.
“That’s an order.” Luffy said with a commanding look.
Nami and Robin look at one another devilishly, then look back at you. You raise an eyebrow at them, then roll your eyes and begin walking towards the Polar Tang. At the polar tang you find Bepo, Shachi and Penguin outside on the submarine's deck.
“Hey, my crew sent me over to check on Law. They wanted to make sure you all were still good for the raid tomorrow?” You asked as you rubbed the back of your head nervously.
“Yes, we are still in! We want to find out who ruined the original plan, everyone keeps blaming us and our captain! We aren’t going to let him down like that ever again! ” Bepo says as he clenches his fists and takes a step forward.
“Yeah!” Penguin and Shachi say in unison after Bepo’s words.
“I’m glad to hear it.” You reply to them with a soft supportive smile. “Where’s Law? How is he?”
“He’s in his quarters tending to his..” His voice breaks a moment as he looks down in shame. “To his wounds and getting cleaned up.” Penguin says.
“My Captain asked me to check in with him, do you think that would be okay?” You ask, biting your lip.
You knew from how passionate his crew was, he must have been through something tough while captured.
“I’ll take you to him, this way.” Bepo replies.
“Thank you!” You say with a large grin.
You follow Bepo through the door of the Polar Tang. Shachi and Penguin swoon at you in your kunichi outfit as you walk away from them. Bepo leads you down a long hallway and eventually stops at a door on the right side of the hall.
“This is it.” Bepo says as he raises his paw to start to knock on the door. “Ugh… Captain…”
“What is it?” You hear a muffled deep, gravely voice speak from the other side of the door.
You gasp as you notice the anger in his voice. You knew you shouldn’t have come. Bepo nervously rubs the fur behind his ears.
“You have a visitor. One of the Strawhats is here to check in on you.”
“Tell Strawhat to go away.” Law replies sternly through the closed door again.
“Umm… it’s not Strawhat, just one of his crew.”
You swallow hard and decide to try to help Bepo out. Bepo sighs beside you.
“Law, it’s Y/N.” You say after taking a deep breath.
“Fine. Come in.”
You were shocked at his quick willingness to allow you to enter his private quarters. You turn the door handle and look over at Bepo, nodding at him as you push the door open. You walk in and shut the door behind you. Law sits on the floor, leaning against his bed in his kimono. He rests his arms across his knees bent in front of him. He’s covered in dried blood and staring at the wall. You blink a few times as you look at him. Taking a deep breath, you move to kneel down next to him.
“Law… Are you okay?” You ask shakily as you stare at him.
His eyes darted toward you, then returned to looking at the wall in front of him. You and Law had grown somewhat close during his alliance with the Strawhat crew. You liked talking medicine with him, since you were a former nurse. You hadn’t seen him since Zou as you had gone with Luffy to get Sanji back from Whole Cake Island. Meanwhile, he had gone straight to Wano with the rest of your crew.
You knew you cared about him more than the rest of your crew did and in a different way. You couldn’t imagine him ever feeling the same way, but you had feelings for him. You knew it was crazy, having a crush on the captain of another crew, but you couldn’t help how he made you feel. He made you feel safe, smart, and valuable. Not that your crew didn’t, but he did so in a different way and you enjoyed his company. You’d never leave your crew, but you knew when this alliance was over, you’d miss Law. All you could do was help him with his wounds now and do as your captain ordered, make sure he was still onboard for the raid tomorrow.
“Y/N.” He gives you a side glance then crosses his arms and looks at the floor in front of him. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine.” You say with a soft smile. You gently lean forward to touch his bloodied cheek. “You on the other hand…” You start to say as you reach for the basin of water he had prepared beside him and one of the clean folded towels.
You dip the folded towel in the water and ring it out. Gently, you press the warmed cloth to a cut on his forehead. He winces a bit as you apply some pressure to it. He sighs at the heat from the cloth and the tenderness of your care.
“I’m fine.” He says. “Just a few bumps and bruises. I’ll be ready for tomorrow.” He adds as he reaches up for your hand holding the cloth.
The sensation of his hand touching yours sent a jolt through your body. Your heart began to beat faster and a warmth began to grow inside your chest. Law took the cloth from your hand and used it to wipe the rest of the dried blood from his face. You reached for another cloth and prepared it to hand to him. He sat quietly focused on his task, then his eyes fell back upon your face. His eyebrows were furrowed as he stared at you with an intensity that only made the heat in your chest rise.
“Law.” You reply as you furrow your eyebrows back at him in confusion. “What is it?”
He grunts and clenches his teeth, directing his gaze back to his hands. He takes a deep breath, then looks at you with a side glance again. He tosses the cloth in his hand back into the basin, then he reaches for the cloth in yours. He takes the cloth in from your hand and tosses it in the basin as well. He stands up and sits at the edge of his bed, returning his gaze to you with a sigh.
“I’m glad you’re okay, Law. When I heard you had gone to rescue your crew… and gave yourself up for them… I was…” Your eyes begin to water as you speak. “Bepo was so worried.” You say as you shake your head and look down at your hands, to hide your watering eyes.
“Why do you call me Law while the rest of your crew calls me that stupid nickname?” Law urges as he looks at you without turning his head.
You look up at Law in confusion and twist your lips as you think of a response to the sudden subject change.
“Oh. Um. I guess it’s well, I know you hate the nickname,I ’d rather call you something else, something you like. You say, placing your palms on your thighs, tucking your head down, so Law can’t see your blush.
“Like what?” He asks, giving you another side glance, then looking back in front of him.
“I don’t know, Traf?” You say looking up with a surprised grin.
“Okay.” He says not to make eye contact with you.
“Okay?”
“I’m glad you’re okay. I was worried about you.” He says with a blush he doesn’t try to hide.“But, this alliance ends after the battle with Kaido tomorrow.” he adds with his earlier sternness returning to his voice.
His blush makes your blush grow, but your eyes begin to glisten at the idea of the two of your parting ways. Your thoughts begin to flood with panic, had Law just blushed at you, had he just flirted with you? The man sitting before you had just risked his life for his crew, and after tomorrow night, you may never see him again. You decided it was now or never. You look at him and take a deep breath.
You lunge forward and wrap your arms around his neck, pulling yourself towards him in a tight embrace. His eyes widen, his breath catches in his throat, and his hat falls from his head at your jarring lunge. You bury your head into his neck and breathe him in. It takes a moment due to shock, but his chest relaxes against yours and his arms wrap around your waist, pulling you in closer to him. You sit there for a few seconds, wrapped in one anothers embrace. After a bit, he pushes away from you and his eyes meet yours. Your hands sink down his muscular, tattooed chest as you try to guess what could be going through his mind. Your eyes flicker to his lips a moment, then returns to his gray orbs, you hoped he would realize the permission you were giving him.
Suddenly, his soft, dry lips are hitting yours. Law is rough at first like he thinks the moment is fleeting and you’ll realize you’ve made a mistake. Your hands slither back up to embrace his neck to which his body relaxes against yours, pulling you in closer to him. Your fingers begin to rifle through his dark messy hair. Gently his tongue pushes against your lips, asking for permission to enter. As you grant it, your left hand falls to feel his chest, catching on the lining of his kimono, pulling it to hang loose off his chest. Your hand caresses his naked, tattooed pec.
Law slowly drags away from your lips and begins meticulously kissing down your neck. At your collarbone, you feel his teeth dig into you, forcing a moan from your lips.
“Traf..”
He pulls away and looks at you devilishly, raising his eyebrow in question. You nod back. His tattooed hands wrap around your waist and lift you to straddle his right leg. His warm chapped lips return to press against your plump red ones. You push the kimono off his shoulders, and move to twirl your fingers in his messy dark locks. He begins to pull at the tie of your kimono. Your lips separate as his gaze falls upon your chest. Your lips begin to caress at and nibble his pierced ear. As the kimono falls off your skin, Law stares in awe at your well endowed chest. A moan escapes his lips as you bite and suck harder near his piercings. He moves his right hand from your waist to caress your breasts, gently twisting your right bud. You moan in his ear and move your chest closer to his, seeking out more friction on your sensitive buds. He drops his hand from your breasts back to your waist and begins sucking and nipping at your nipples. Your hips begin to rock against his thigh in delight, while he licks away at your sensitive buds. He chuckles with pleasure against your breast as your hands fall from hair to his back. Your fingertips curl into his toned shoulders, leaving scratch marks as he bites again at your nipple.
“Traf… need you.” you whine.
He smirks, pulling away from his feast on your breasts to look you in the eye. He slides his hands down your waist to your folds. You lean forward, connecting your chests, hoping to find some friction like he had just been giving you with his tongue. He chuckles as his tattooed hand runs through your folds, causing you to throw your head back.
“Law!”
“No underwear. Thought so…and so wet. You’re such a slut for me.” He says with a wider smirk.
Your hands slide across his toned back to his chest. Tracing the lines of his large heart tattoo, you find his hardened length beginning to twitch beneath his kimono. Your fingers grasp at it above the fabric as your gaze falls back on his.
He stares at you blankly with his half lidded eyes, fingers circling your clit. Your hips rock faster against his thigh. His grip tightens on your waist as his lips fall upon your ear. Pulling him closer by grabbing his shoulders, your head falls back with a moan. His thumb drops to trace your entrance while two of his other fingers continue to circle your clit.
“You move when you’re told, make noise when you’re told, and cum when you’re told, got it, princess?”
His hand moves faster against your clit as he finishes his instructions. You bite your lip, trying to restrain a moan and look him in the eye. He wraps his arms back around you and lifts you from his lap, to lay flat on the bed behind you. Your kimono falls to the floor at the foot of the bed as Law moves you. You now rest on his bed completely naked and he looks on at you with a satisfied gaze. You raise your knees and begin rubbing your hands up and down your thighs. Law moves to sit between them. He places his left hand on your hip and his right on your clit. His kimono still rests at his waist.
“Law…need”
He slaps your folds. You stifle a moan.
“I thought you were going to be a good girl and do as you were told?”
He begins tracing your entrance with his left hand and using his right thumb to trace the alphabet on your clit. Your toes lift off the ground as he dips his tattooed fingers “E” and “A” into you.
“Say my name.”
“Law.”
“No.”
“Traf.”
“All of it.”
“Trafalgar Law” you say, still trying to stifle a moan as his fingers begin to pound in and out of you.
His fingers begin curling to hit your spot. His hand moves from your clit to bring one of your breasts and nipples to his mouth. Heat begins to build in your stomach.
“Traf I’m going to.”
“Not until I say.” He says sternly, licking at your bud.
He begins quickly slamming your spot faster with his curled fingers. You grip at his hair and grit your teeth. You feel a smile form on his lips against your breast.
“Now.” He says as he bites your breast and moves his thumb back down to play with your clit. His thumb returning to circle your clit sends you over the edge.
“LAAAWWW.” You call in ecstasy as your juices spill out all over his Death tattooed fingers.
You breathe heavily and hear the whoosh of his kimono as he pulls it off and strips his briefs. You sit up on your elbows to get a better look, a smile growing across your lips.
“Now, prove to me you’re a good girl and take me.”
You nod. He gets back on the ground and lays on top of you. Your arms wrap around his back and pull him closer to you. His lips press against yours as his hardened length pushes against your abdomen. Your hand begins to caress his length, but he slaps it away, grabbing it himself to line it up with your entrance.
He begins moving his length up and down your entrance, causing your hips to buck with need. His mouth drops from your lips to bite at your nipples. You moan in response.
“Remember who is in charge here. Otherwise I’ll have to tease you longer.” He says with a smug grin.
You nod and as your hips begin to buck against his. One of your hands wrapped in his dark locks while the other scratches at his back with need.
“You look so tight. Can’t wait to feel you around me. Are you ready to be a good girl and take me?”
You nod, pulling his lips back to yours. He gently begins to enter you with just his tip at first. You moan and clench around him. He grunts. As you relax with him beginning to inch inside you, he slowly begins to push more into you. Once in, he stops moving to let you adjust. Your head falls back and you pant at the feeling of fullness within you. Law kisses your neck and begins to slowly pull his length in and out of you, using your waist as a guide.
“So tight. Look how well you’re taking me. Now be a good girl and handle your pounding.” He says sternly.
You nod against his cheek. His grip tightens and he begins thrusting harder to slam against your cervix. After seeing you tolerate this, he gradually picks up his pace. His lips fall back against yours, while one of his hands dances from your hip to your clit, where it starts moving in circles again. As he starts working your clit with his fingers you feel the heat beginning to rise again in your abdomen.
“I’m close. You’ve been such a good girl for me, so I’ll let you decide, where should I cum?”
“I’---in-inside… Want to feel you finish in me.”
“Good girl.” He says moving his hands back to your hips, so he can slam into you harder.
His gaze falls upon your face where your eyes are beginning to cross and water. You lift your legs to wrap around him to take him deeper. His balls are slapping against your entrance.
Law reaches a hand up and twists one of your swollen nipples, that combined with another deep slam and your juices are pouring out all over his hard length.
“TRAFALGAR.” You moan as your body shakes around his length.
He moves in and out through your ecstasy and after a few more thrusts you feel his length quiver inside you. His juices begin to drip out your core and down your thighs. You pant as Law moans quietly. His eyes fall back upon yours as he raises a hand to move your hair out of your face. His lips gently press against yours once more before he falls down to lay beside you. After a few seconds of panting he puts his arm around you and pulls you into his chest. You tuck your head into his shoulder and wrap your arms around his torso.
“If we die fighting Kaido, at least I can die happy now.” You say breathily.
“We can’t die. I have some other things I would like to try… with you…” Law says between pants.
“Whatever you say, Traffy.” You reply with a soft smile as you lift your lips to his.
The two of you lay there for a bit chatting and laughing.
“I should probably head back soon.” The crew may be wondering where I am.
You roll off his chest and begin crawling out of his bed. You reach for your dress at the base of his bed, but before you can pick it up, arms are wrapped around your waist pulling you back in.
“Let them wonder.”
“Thank goodness my dress isn’t ruined.” You start to say as he kisses down your neck. “Maybe I can stay for a bit longer, but only if you show me your outfit for tomorrow.”
You knew Law cared about what he looked like, so after trying clothes on with your own crew, you were curious what he would choose for the big battle. He rolled his eyes at you, then got out of bed. He rifles through his closet and grabs a shirt and some pants then steps into his bathroom to pee and change. You talk to him about his future plans while he changes. When he steps out, you visibly gasp and you can’t speak. His signature spotted pants and a yellow dress shirt. Who knew such a simple outfit could leave you speechless. Maybe it was the fact it highlighted his lean build or that he only wore two buttons of his shirt buttoned to show off his tattoos. Maybe it was the fact you knew now what lay underneath. You jump to your knees and begin reaching for the shirt buttons.
“Okay, I’m glad I had some warning. I know we should rest because tomorrow is a big day, but I’m now going to need you the rest of the night… maybe well into the morning.” You nervously spit out as you finish the last button and push the shirt from his shoulders, heading for the buttons of his jeans next.
Law’s smug grin returns as he grabs your hands in one of his. He uses his free hand to lift your chin and bring your lips to his.
“Slow down, tiger. Remember who is in charge here. It’s nice to see you needy for me this quickly. May have to find a way to drag this battle out, so we can get some more time together.”
You nod against his lips and pull him back on top of you on the bed.
“Or just join our crew, they already think of you as a member.” You say laughing mildly against his lips.
“You’ve seen what I do for a good girl, seems like it’s time to show you what I do for a bad one…” Law says as he slaps your ass.

One Piece Chapter 1081 [Spoilers] Reminder-Law has cheated Death and Lost his home: Thrice!
I knew it was coming; I was hoping for a miracle. But this is the finale, we are going to lose more people! The stakes are high, our final contenders to One Piece are moving closer to their goal! But as Trafalgar Law fan, I was not ready to see him lose!
Paulo Coelho had warned me, Everything that happens once can never happen again. But everything that happens twice will surely happen a third time, yet I was not ready!
Tumblr media
True, “The weak don’t get to choose how they die”! And Bepo made sure that Law didn’t get to die today. Bepo bet his life and went on to challenge Blackbeard! I respect him and again it set’s another example how each and every first mate has been loyal and that’s how they saved their captains! Zoro on Thriller Bark, Killer on Elbaf, and Bepo on Winner Island! A captain will survive when it’s crew will sacrifice itself!
Tumblr media
Law will hate this; he has the captain’s burden to bare, pride of his crew on his shoulders and honour of the dead to carry! And yes, weak as he may be right now, he really didn’t get to choose his death. Trafalgar D Water Law will not die today, but for now he has been eliminated like Kid from the final race to One Piece.
Law lost his home! For the third time! His island and family are gone, Corazon and foster Doffy family is gone. His crew and ship was a family and home he built over 13 years! A ship which was a gift to him from a friend. He lost it all!
Losing a ship means you have been defeated and your spine cracked! What’s a pirate without a ship? After Merry Go and Thousand Sunny, Polar Tang was my favourite ship. I loved it for it’s cool design, utility, and absolutely fun colour. Law has a career ending blow, but he will survive.
Tumblr media
Law will survive, he will be depressed again, he will hate himself again, but he will come back, he might not get the opportunity to avenge his crew the way he will want too! But he will survive, and he will get his answers to the questions he carries!
There is a purpose he has to serve, and my fears for his future is worse. That devil fruit he carries; it definitely offers something more than eternal youth. If it can cure an incurable disease like Amber Lead Syndrome, that means it can cure other things too. And a certain someone has already lost twenty years to a drug when he tried to save his brother.
I just can’t help but notice how Law has cheated Death thrice! If Law was a cat; he would have six more lives to spend! And out of which their is a high possibility the last life might get spent on saving the only D that matters in this universe. But for now that’s a thought I hope doesn’t come to fruition!
Why am I so sympathetic to Law but not Kid?
Tumblr media
I think why my reaction to Kid getting pulverised and Law getting butchered are so different, is because it’s very simple!
Rule of familiarity.
We have known Shanks since day one of One Piece! Shanks has always been the reliable guy and Kid was introduced to us as being reckless killer. Blackbeard too has been the bad guy since his introduction while we as readers have spent a decade with Law!
I am more invested in Law! I have seen his struggles, ups and downs and what he is capable off!
With Kid it has always been a distanced and tinted pov. Shakky introduced him to Strawhat as a worst generation who killed people to have higher bounty than Luffy. Then when three of them met, Kid picked fight with Law and Lu!
It was fun watching Kid get beaten up by Shanks! But obviously with Law it was different emotions; because we know him better!
Let it be a reminder!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Defeating Blackbeard and Shanks is not going to be easy! Kaido was the trial round for Luffy, and it took him 5 battles! And the biggest issue with Luffy’s future opponents Blackboard and Shanks is not the difference of power but the difference of planning. Luffy though he has matured a bit; is still a punch first talk later boy. As for Blackbeard and Shanks, they have been playing chess of survival for all these years!
Kaido, Big Mom, Doffy, or anyone Luffy has fought previously has always underestimated him; until Charlotte Katkuri! Luffy is an Emperor of the Sea! Neither Blackbeard or Shanks will give him the half-hearted treatment of toying with a rookie!
Yes Lu is a God, but still a rookie! And next two opponents are people who don’t always rely on strength but brains all the time! They both have planned and plotted to reach this far! It will not be easy!
I think chapter 1081 establishes the final journey to One Piece for Luffy has begun.

my, my (how can i resist you?)
a/n: the vacation and tenderness they all (i) need (them to have)-
Tumblr media
oc x canon, post-wano, nakamaship and fluff, poly (implied, and shown) he/they law word count: 1.3k
Tang and Strider dock, both Hiraishin and Heart Pirates heave a collective sigh of relief. The island they’ve found themselves on seems to be uninhabited with little to stock up on in terms of supplies but in comparison to the hell that awaited them upon leaving samurai-country - this was virtually time off.
The combined crews waste no time in off-loading onto the island and slip into relaxation mode; Law said that they’d only be able to spend a few days here but that only meant that everyone would have to make the most of it. Usually he’d disdain such lackadaisical behavior, but frankly at this point if Law hears one more word of Strawhat nonsense, mucking up yet another perfectly good plan, he’d combust into stress fueled flames.
So distraction is given a pass for now.
Everyone eases into their impromptu holiday without a second glance; respective first mates have abandoned their duties in lieu of beach-time fun (although some stick to their responsibilities out of habit more than others), typical friend groups all huddle up to discuss their interests with lots of overlap from other circles as the night draws on, couples, trios, and quads find a nice little corner to simply spend time with each other without needing to worry about work - even typically more solitary folk come out of hiding to enjoy the ambience.
Soon “a few days” turns to a week, but Law still can’t bring himself to tell everyone it’s time to leave yet. Not when he sees Tetsu and Shachi playing Shoulder Wars with Bepo in the water, Penguin chatting amongst Reiji and Rio, the latter with his legs across Migi’s lap, Mitsu exchanging recipes and laughing with his own beloved cooks. Across the beach Coco squawks in response to her girlfriend’s teases and Ikkaku’s all the happier to pile them on.
Law can see Noire and Nabiil desperately trying to keep Fritz from falling into the water as he windsurfs, Alto and Uni help get sunscreen on the parts of Jean-Bart’s back that he can’t reach, while various Heart and Hiraishin crew members try to haggle a bargain from their resident tattoo artist, Izzy, too.  Least of all when he spots Kirin out of the corner his eye, napping in various spots throughout the day but always wearing a slight smile even in his slumber.
They’re all on a well-deserved vacation. Especially after de-throning two Emperors and fending off the fallout therein. Plus, with Dofla-fucking-mingo rotting in Impel Down, Law reasons, although the knowledge that this vile creature was alive at ALL made their bones ache with a decade-long rage, he has nothing else to worry about other than zeroing his focus on the One Piece, or rather, the Will of D, at his own pace.
Still, Kirin finds Law sulking away from the liveliness as usual, tucked away in their office among piles of old but well-kept books.
“Hiding away before the party even starts? It might be our last day here, you know. Our crews wanna have at least a little fun with both captains present.”
“You’re leaving? When? It’s the first I’ve heard of this.” Laws brows furrow as he looks up to meet Kirin’s gaze, placing down his favorite bear-themed pencil.
“Nothing’s set in stone yet but Rio wants to get a move on before those kids get caught up in another storm. You know how he is. It’s fine, we need to get to another town to stockpile tools for repairs anyway.”
“Mugiwara-ya? Him and his ilk cause problems wherever they go,” Law snuffs, “Wonder when we’ll see the end of his competitive streak, though, if at all.”
Kirin cocks him a grin, brow raised and eyelids slack, “Who, Rio? I don’t want to hear that from you, Tora-o.”
The corner of Law’s mouth twitches at the accursed nickname, Kirin laughs. They will admit though, at least secretly and only ever to themself, that hearing it from his lover, his amor, in such a sweet tone despite the intentional mockery makes them all but want to kiss this insufferable man. So he does. Hooks his fingers into the loop of Kirin’s belt buckle, pulls him to sit on the arm of his chair, and leans up with clear intent. Kirin’s more than happy to oblige.
It’s only when Law swipes his tongue across the inside of the other captain’s mouth and Kirin makes an undignified noise in response that he realizes their true intentions.
“Law! You had coffee before I came in, didn’t you?”
Kirin feigns offense but it’s hard to stay mad with his partner’s rare and ever-sweet laughter ringing wonderfully through his chest and ears. Almost as if... they were wedding bells. Kirin’s caught off by his own thoughts, brushing the idea far away for now and hoping that Law didn’t see his expression change. God, where did that come from? What would’ve been a mock scowl now sits as a mere toothless pout on tan features. Law’s head rests against their own jolly roger inked on Kirin’s shoulder, fingers intertwined as he lets the last huffs of laughter empty from his chest. He’s still smiling though, and Kirin wouldn’t do anything to jinx it for the world.
“I take it you still want me to go out there and socialize for our last day on this carefree island?”
“You don’t have to, Heart, but it would be nice. We wanna have fun with you, too.” Kirin brings up their knuckles to smooch with all the tenderness and devotion his heart can manage - Law tips his chin for a proper kiss on the lips, after. Had he been born with the ability to, Kirin’s wings would’ve fanned out in a flurry of ruffled feathers at right this moment.
“Hmm, since my darling asked so nicely, who am I to say no?”
Heart Pirates cheer at the sight of their captain emerging from the sub to join them - Kirin close behind, standard smirk of a smile already in place; his crew keeps their teasing about Law’s hermit habits to a minimum if only because of the warning look their own captain briefs over them when Law is too preoccupied with Bepo shoving plates of fresh food into his arms, well into the party mood.
The buccaneers greet the transition from dusk to nightfall with raucous laughter, excessive drinking, and gorging themselves on the bounty of seafood they could find by fishing and diving around the waters surrounded them, though the island itself was almost devoid of any edible meat. At least, not enough to justify hunting to feed a party of more than 30 grown adults when they already had more than enough fish and crustaceans to last. Plenty of herbs, however.
They herd Bepo into the Tang with his tipsy, giggly partner once the clouds seemed to roll away from to avoid another Sulong incident, although whatever those two got up to in the privacy of their sub was none of anyone’s business. A few others had disappeared with their own arrangements, too, but Kirin was content to simply lay on this blanketed patch of beach listening to his intoxicated boyfriend ramble about all the ‘funny fishies’ they saw while trying to catch tonight’s feast.
Law sits next to them a short while later, drink in hand and pleasantly buzzed, but not nearly as drunk as the unconscious red-faced samurai between these captains.
“Did Pen and Shach ditch you to go make out?”
Law snrks in response, “No worse than Tetsu and Izzy leaving you for the, what, broom closet where they ran off to? Usually we’d be racing against them.”
Kirin’s snickers muffle against the kiss he presses to Law’s cheek; Reiji shifts a little with something unintelligible muttered in his sleep below them - Kirin smiles, moving to lay his head on their mutual boyfriend’s chest.
“’M not really up for it tonight. Hate to say, but all that food’s made me sleepier than anything.”
“Yeah? Well, we’ve got the world’s best pillows right here,” Law shimmies a little lower too, resting on their elbow as the buzz sinks in from the last gulp to finish off his cup.
“I don’t know about sleeping on the beach, though, all that sunlight is going to make our hangovers murderous,” Kirin doesn’t get to finish, they’ve already been shambles’d into his room, Reiji and all.
“Oh, so you can get sand in my bed but when I drop a single crumb in yours-”
Once again Law cuts his train of thought short, this time with a kiss. Their head swims with a familiar airiness and both captains smell pleasantly of sake; they break to smile at each other, then Reiji’s slumbering face. The cap’ts press tipsy (one more so than the other) kisses to either of his cheeks, before each laying on a tit and knocking out for the night.
All things considered, it was a vacation well spent.

Dear __,
Have you reached Lotus Island already? It’s been a week since I heard from you. The crew and I just arrived at Sabaody. I just got back to our hostel so I’m writing this at 2:49AM. We had a pretty hectic night. Do you know a pirate named Monkey D. Luffy? Earlier today during an auction, he assaulted a Celestial Dragon. The guy had some rubber devil fruit and he just straight up punched the dragon. Not that I feel any pity for the guy on the receiving end but that was probably one of the craziest things I’ve seen in the Grand Line, which is saying something considering I’m pretty sure the pirate is even younger than me. Also, it’s interesting how he’s also a D.
Anyway, we have a new crew mate thanks to the chaos that happened in the auction hall.
But I need to get this off my chest first. I’ve quite a bad feeling about the political atmosphere right now particularly in the New World which (un)fortunately we’re on our way to. A war seems inevitable. But then again, we still have to move forward. We simply plan for contingencies like this.
It’s not safe anywhere, even at Lotus.
Stay safe. Let me know if you need anything.
Bepo and the group really miss having you on board... Write soon, alright?
Yours, Law

Dear __,
Did you get my previous letter? I changed addresses; I’m staying at this new winter island for a while to sort some things out. Just in case you didn’t, I’ll send you this one through a local news coo so you could just use it for our correspondence.
And I got the message. I told you I was gonna be fine! In my defense, I did give those 100 pirates an easy way out. I told them: surrender easily or literally get cardiac arrest. And some did actually choose the former! Just towards the end when we made news for stealing people’s hearts.
The weather here is unusual. It’s cold on most days but parts of the island are boiling hot: that’s the Grand Line for you. I’m wearing the cord bracelet you sent me. The colors are really nice and it reminds me of the clothes you wore last time. The Heart Pirates logo you affixed is adorable. Thank you.
It might be a while till I’m able to write again after this but rest assured, I’ll continue to write for as long as I’m able to.
The nights are colder than they’ve ever been. I wish you were here… I know how much you like seeing snow.
Yours, Law

(in blurred, shaky penmanship)
Dear __,
First, I want you to burn this letter as soon as you’re done reading it.  How long has it been? I should really go see you soon.
I haven’t been able to write for the longest time because day-in, day-out it’s been battles upon battles. I’m writing this quickly on our last night here on Zou. They’re all having a goodbye party outside but as much as I want to stay in and actually rest, I can’t say no to the crew.  Bepo is doing that face again.
Remember that guy, Monkey D. Luffy? So he arrived at the winter island I was staying at and wrecked havoc, to put things lightly. We then went to my old New World Island, the one I told you about: Dressrosa. We then returned to Zou where I left Bepo and the others their own assignments for my plan.
You’ll probably read what happened in the papers before you even receive this letter. But I want you to know not to trust anyone.
There are eyes everywhere. The government might start to intercept letters at random so let’s not risk it, momentarily postpone your messages. Lay low for a while but keep your ears open.
The Strawhats are a wild bunch, pirates through and through. Just going with the flow. Strawhat annoys me a little bit but I have to hand it to him, he has some guts. We may not look like a solid alliance but I have to admit, the groups complement one another well.
There are no coo in the next island, Wano, as it’s isolated from the rest of the world. How I wish I was making this up. So what will happen is I’ll first get us settled there and then call you from the denden mushi when we’re out of harm’s way, but if you don’t hear from me, it means signal isn’t good. I promise to come visit as soon as we’re done here.  Rest easy, I'll be by your side in a heartbeat.
Love, Law
P.S. Burn this letter afterwards

Hello! Could i please have some good good pregnancy and parenting headcanons with a fem!s/o for Law, Eustass, and Zoro please? Thank you so much and have an awesome day!
Oof pregnancy and parenting headcanon make me so soft, thank you very much for this sweet request🥺! I focussed a bit more on the pregnancy part rather than the parenting tho since I've written something similiar for Kid and Law already😅 Hope what I came up with suits you, and sorry for the long wait!
How they deal with a pregnant gf and having a baby headcanon
Trafalgar Law
Tumblr media
because of his medical knowledge and observant nature, Law actually noticed the first signs of your pregnancy even before you did
so when you finally realize that you're pregnant and go to confront him with your discovery, he's anything but surprised
"Law, I need to tell you something. I'm-"
"Pregnant? Yeah, I thought so."
he looks pretty unbothered and composed, almost as if this isn't anything new to him, but on the inside he is completely tense and filled with anxiety. A baby just doesn't fit into your pirate lives. At all. However he doesn't want to show his true feelings and possibly cause you to panic. You already got enough on your plate with all the new physical and hormonal changes you're about to go through
personally Law didn't plan on having kids, ever, but what's done is done. To make sure that this is really what you want he'd still offer you the option of an abortion, but when you decline and tell him that you want to keep the child, he accepts your decision
"Alright (Y/N), brace yourself then. A few major changes are upon us..."
everything from the beginning of your pregnancy to the date of birth is planned out by him. Law doesn't want anything to go wrong and refuses to take risks. That means you'll spend most of your time either stuck by his side or in the proximity of another member of the Heart Pirates
Bepo, Penguin and Shachi are super excited for the kid and to be uncles. They all come up with their own ideas on what they'll do with the baby once it's born, and their enthusiasm sort of puts Law at ease. This means he and you at least won't have to deal with everything by yourselves
when you actually go into labour, Law's composed facade drops for a moment and he reveals just how stressed he's been up until now
in order to properly assist you and be there for you while you're giving birth, he forces himself to imagine that this is just an ordinary operation. It's not his girlfriend having his baby, he's not about to be a father in a few minutes-
all the stress and anxiety instantly falls off of him when he first holds the new life you two created.
the first time Law looks down at his baby he's absolutely mesmerized. Sure it's still bloody and screeching its lungs out, but despite all odds it's looking completely healthy and is actually,,,, really adorable? Holy shit, how did he manage to make something so pure-looking-
after cleaning the baby and introducing it to its mother, he brings the little human over to Bepo and lets it rest in the bear's soft fur instead of wrapping it up in a blanket. Not only should that be far more comfortable for the tiny thing, but it's also the first bonding experience with uncle Bepo. And while the baby is sleeping, Law walks over to check in on you and tells you how great you did
as far as being a dad goes, Law belongs to the supportive but distant type. Whenever he's got the chance he'll try to spend time with his kid, but there are often other, more important things he has to take care of
however he's still a proud parent and lowkey hopes that the child will take an interest in his work when it gets older. It shouldn't come as a surprise that one of the first things your kid will be taught by Papa Law is how to dissect a frog
Eustass Kid
Tumblr media
his immediate thought when you let him know that you're pregnant is "how can I make this unhappen"
look at him, Kid is not ready to be a dad. Especially when it comes to his level of maturity he's basically still a child himself-
no one on the Victoria Punk is prepared for the big news. Their captain made a baby. There will be a kid running around the ship. Oh shit, everyone better start learning to limit their use of profanities already-
initially Kid acts pretty grumpy throughout your pregnancy. He didn't want this, but it's still happening. And he can't do anything against it. He's almost acting like a pregnant woman himself-
can not and will not handle your cravings/mood swings. Whenever you start acting up he just gets completely irritated and quickly peaces out when he can't come up with a way to deal with you
but what started out as regret turns into excitement when he thinks about how awesome his kid would be. With him as dad and you as mom it's only natural that the result will be amazing
and thus he starts to be a bit more open-minded towards the whole situation. Heck, he even gets lowkey excited and starts building a few baby cribs and closets for the child!
unfortunately tho Kid is anything but compassionate during your pregnancy, and it gets especially bad when you start showing. His immature nature shines through and he makes quite a few indecent comments on how you look a balloon,,,
for some reason he also tends to be more horny than usual. Hey, you already got a bun in the oven, so there isn't anything else you need to worry about, right?
in contrast to how he treated you during your pregnancy, he's actually very supporting and motivating during birth
lmao but that's mostly because he's eagerly waiting between your legs for the kid to plop out and right into his arm like a Christmas present
it's almost like a lottery to him and he's super excited what the brat will look like
however nothing could have prepared Kid for the moment when he gets to hold the baby for the first time. The young man basically beams with pride and grins from one ear to the other while the baby cries like an alarm clock
Kid's first time holding the newborn in a nutshell:
"Hehe, it looks like we got a girl here, ey (Y/N)?"
"Kid... that's the baby's ass. You're holding it the wrong way around."
he definitely comes up with ridiculous names for the child, such as: "Eustass Explosion", "Eustass Chainsaw" and his personal favorite- "Eustass the Destroyer"
putting his excitement aside, the young pirate captain definitely has to grow into the role of a father. At first he almost treats the kid like some sort of new toy or pet
you'll never catch him changing even a single diaper. Most of the time Kid tells Killer to man up, cover the holes in his mask, and take care of it by himself if he really wants to be considered 'the best uncle'
despite his rowdy behaviour he is aware that the child is 'fragile' and usually makes sure to keep it away from any dangerous stuff, meaning that the workshop is off-limits for the little one. Kid also never uses his metal arm when he's playing with or holding the baby; instead he build a more authentic prosthetic that'll allow him to hold the child more properly
Roronoa Zoro
Tumblr media
his eye almost pops out of its socket when you tell him
holy shit! Zoro of course knew that sex makes babies, but what are the odds of this happening to you?! Besides he always considered himself to be too controlled and restrained for that to work?! Damn?!?!
despite the initial shock he wants to do his best to help you through the pregnancy. After all he basically caused this-
however Zoro can't even find the way to the grocery store to get some diapers
someone send him help. And by help, I mean Chopper
the reindeer himself doesn't know too much about pregnancies, but he's more than happy to collect some first-hand experience and teaches Zoro all about how to be a dad and what's going on with your body
whenever you're near he keeps his swords sheathed and tucked away from you. Once your stomach starts popping he's wary that if he comes too close to you with a sharp thing you might burst or something
at night he keeps watch like a guard dog, his overprotectiveness shines through and he often refuses to go to sleep before you
you probably go into labour while he's out getting lost or fighting some marines, but once Zoro gets the news he almost drops his sword and hurries back to be with you
but he arrives almost an hour later because he got so excited that he forgot the way back to the Sunny
Zoro really wants to help you and Chopper deliver the baby. He's constantly repeating what the reindeer doc says to you and at some point, when your pain reaches its peak, he even suggets reaching down and pulling the baby out of you with his own two hands lol
but once the first cries fill the rooms, he freezes up. It's done. Those nine months of worry, mood swings, suffering and cravings are finally over. A wave of relief washes over him as he smirks down at you, quietly saying how proud he is
however Zoro strongly refuses to hold his baby at first. He's genuinely scared he might drop it or accidentally crush it.
you and Chopper basically have to yell at him to get him out of his trance and convince the new father to take a look at his child
"Zoro, I did not go through hours of pain just so you can say no to holding our baby. For crying out loud, take your child!"
the second you put the baby into his arms Zoro's protective dad instincts kick in and now he refuses to let the child go again lmao
he's mustering the little one's face like some abstract oil painting, unable to tear his gaze from it and proudly recognizing all the similarities between the baby and its parents
luckily Zoro got some natural dad skills under his belt, and you both share the responsibilities evenly
he's never opposed to changing diapers or feeding the baby, even if the first annoys him sometimes. He also keeps the baby around himself 24/7- during workouts he puts it onto his back, when he wanders around the little one sits on his shoulders, and when he takes a nap on the desk the baby lies on his chest
all of the other Strawhats are more than welcome to take care of the baby from time to time and bond with the newest family crewmember to their heart's content. Well, that goes for everyone except Sanji. You better not let Zoro catch him handling the baby or a fight will break out-

Hello! Could you do a hc about Luffy, Sabo, Katakuri and Law gf getting jealous because their boyfriends is working with a really really beautiful princess ( like saving a country or going to a country from some work stuff).
or... you’re jealous. (Luffy)
a/n: I had a lot of fun writing them, I loved the idea so I chose to make a scenario out of it. The stories will be posted separately. As a fair warning, the s/o get jealous over stupid things, but I thought it was funny. Please let me know how you felt about them!
Luffy
The weight of the guns on your belt were the only thing that calmed you down. With soft fingertips, you went along the cold metal, feeling safe knowing you could always grab them and defend yourself. But the scene in front of you still tested your limits. It took you all of your willpower to not throw yourself into the water for a nice cooling down swim. You pressed yourself stronger against the wood railing of the Thousand Sunny, wishing the wood would just give in and let you be.
„So, is the plan clear?“ Your captain said one last time, typical grin covering his features. Under normal circumstances you’d smile right back at him, but today you could only frown. His black hair was falling messily down his forehead, you noted silently. The straw hat was perched up like usual on his head. You let your eyes wander and bit your lip in annoyance when your eyes met hers.
The princess was standing next to Luffy, blonde hair looking as golden as honey. You could feel yourself getting uneasy as the timeline of the plan went through your mind again. The logical part of you understood that she was rather defenceless and needed some protection, but the other part of you hated the fact that Luffy took it upon himself to bring her safely to her family. The role of the rest of the crew was: distract, defend and— you gritted your teeth, be at the opposite part of the kingdom. As easy as that was, it also meant that your boyfriend would be all alone with a woman so gorgeous, your blonde crew-mate had fainted after he had seen her for the first time and almost bleed to death.
You sigh and shift your weight from one foot to another. Nami, who stood next to you, gave you a questioning gaze. But you only shrugged and made your way up to the middle of deck, where the rest of the crew was talking excitedly about the banquet the royal family would possibly throw once Luffy brought their dearest daughter back.
„Are you sure you’re okay with it, Luffy-kun?“ You heard her ask then, voice soft as butter. You stole a glance at the two of them a meter away from you and saw how the blush on her cheeks made her look even more innocent than before. If Sanji hadn’t been called away by Chopper earlier, he would have fainted yet again. „Am I not too heavy?“
Now you audibly huffed. Where was this conversation going? You turned your body towards the pair of them, ignoring the way the rest of crew was flickering back and forth between you and them. The air grew slightly tense. Luffy and the princess didn’t notice.
„I’ve carried things heavier than you, Lulu—,“ Her name was Lilly, you recalled and hated how you felt satisfied at the way he didn’t remember her name properly, „so carrying you should be no problem! It will be faster like that!“ He gave her a thumbs up and turned himself around, ready to walk away and get ready, when her small hand shot out and touched his arm, causing the muscle to stretch half a meter.
Carry her?
„Luffy-kun,“ she whispered and quickly looked at your figure standing close. „can we… talk privately? I would like to talk to you about something before our ways part.“ This time, her blush got even deeper and you swore, she let her full lashes fall like that on purpose.
You have had a feeling that her interest in your boyfriend was deeper than just friendship, but hearing her words that were promising to a love confession still took you by surprise. You didn’t see, but rather felt the presence of Usopp next to you. For some reason, you had the feeling that he was getting ready to stop your infamous temper from getting the best of you and some part of you was actually relieved at him standing close.
But Luffy just shook his head. „No,“ He merely said and your heart jumped in your chest. Did he actually noticed the meaning behind her words? It had taken you a few tries to make him notice your hidden romantic feelings, so maybe he had finally learned. Your shoulders relaxed. But then, of course, you were wrong, „we will have plenty of time to chat later on, right? You can tell me whatever you want then, Lulu.“ Right. They would be all alone for a longer time.
„Okay,“ She nodded her head softly and let go of his arm. „I still can’t thank you enough for helping me out.“ She turned around and looked at every crew member that surrounded her, even into your eyes for a second. Her own eyes were wet with unshed tears, „All of you. Thank you so much for bringing me back home. I don’t know what I would have done, if I hadn’t met you guys.“
You could hear encouraging words being called from everyone around you, Franky singing some wonderful tunes along with Brook and even Nami calling out promises as well. But it was Luffy who caught your eyes again. Your captain turned his back towards Princess Lilly and spoke his next words with a seriousness that made the blood in your veins tingle „You asked us for help. And I will make sure you get home safely, Lulu. That’s what friends do.“ It still amazed you how Luffy could switch from moods so suddenly, but it was one of the things you admired so deeply about him. The sudden urge to wrap your arms around him almost got the best of you, but you just turned to the Sniper next to you and let out a loud sigh. Maybe later you could steal some moments with him.
It was your task to stay with Sunny and take care of her. The kingdom you all were staying at was rather large and Princess Lilly had mentioned some bandits who took it upon themselves to rob empty ships. Thus leaving without having someone to keep an eye was out of the way instantly. And since Usopp and you could fight any danger from distance— again, you softly touched the metal of the guns on your belt— you two volunteered to stay behind.
„We should ask Sanji to make us some snacks.“ You mumble towards him and swallow down your previous insecurities. You couldn’t let your foolish jealousy get the best of you. Luffy was protecting his friend — and his friend was your friend… even if the friend was show stopping beautiful and probably smelled like cherry blossoms. You needed to focus properly.
Usopp grins into the sky, relieved at the change of heart. „I would love some lemon cake, to be really honest with you, Y/N. But if I ask him, he’ll tell me to leave. You go and ask him instead. And while you’re at it — ask for chocolate too, yeah?“ With a slight shake to your head, you turned on your heels and went for the kitchen.
And soon enough, it was time for your duties. The sun was high in the sky and the waves were calm. It was the perfect time to leave now. Zoro and Franky left with Brook first. Nami and Chopper left with Robin and Sanji shortly afterwards and mere minutes after that, Luffy took his leave with Princess Lilly after his hour long nap.
„Good luck.“ You said, shifting your weight from one foot to another. Even though you tried to swallow the uneasy feeling down, you could still feel its presence in the back of your mind and before you could stop yourself, more words left your lips, „Don’t have too much fun. I guess it could be tempting for some. “
Luffy, who was already half off the ship, gave you a gleeful grin, completely obvious to the double meaning behind your words, or the grim glance you gave him. „Thanks, Y/N! Don’t eat something good while I’m away, either!“ You crossed your arms and huffed at that. You were getting annoyed. For a moment he looked a bit confused about your reaction, but Usopp took a step towards him quickly, long nose scrunching in the sunlight.
„We won’t! Now go! We will take care of our pretty Sunny!“ His enthusiasm overshadowed your childish words easily, making Luffy nod his head. When his arms grew with length, you expected the tight curl of him surrounding your body in a hug, but with a quick tug at your chest, you watched his arms hug Princess Lilly. Five times did his arms curl, before he stepped up the railing and jumped off Sunny, the woman hugged safely in his arms. Even after they left, you stood still. You know how he was, he didn’t understand certain things in a way you did, but the picture of him leaving with her in his arms stung. It stung how he had not said anything more, not done anything more.
„Y/N,“ Usopp then said, slight whine in his raspy voice. „It’s Luffy. The only thing you should be worried about is him stopping at a restaurant and leaving that princess behind.“ He shook his head, his bronze skin glowing in the sun above him. He let his hand fall down on your shoulder, „Now come. The lemon cake look too good to not be eaten!“
You were glad to have him with you. In all these months of being a part of the Strawhat crew, being a fellow Sniper like Usopp was one of the best things that had happened to you. It didn’t take much to be distracted by his adventurous stories and dry jokes, but as the sun made its way faster across the sky, there was still nothing happening. Neither bandits, nor your crew mates were seen. At one point your friend even fell asleep on the grass, all while you leaned against the railing and looked out to the numerous trees that lay before you. You couldn’t see anything from here. It was straight up boring.
Caught up in this boredom, your mind drifted to your captain and the pretty princess in his arms. Were they already at the castle? Or still on their way? Your shoulders tensed. It was starting to become dark. Did they already have their little talk? Did Luffy think she was pretty? You hummed.
Did Luffy think you were pretty? Sure, he did say you looked nice from time to time, but it was rare. And it was Luffy, for crying out loud. You never knew what he was thinking to begin with. He just wasn’t the type to be affected by visuals, though.
But he did hug you tight when you tried on new clothing. Almost as tight as when you both kiss. You liked his kisses. He liked your kisses, too. How would he react if she kissed him? Would he like it and tell her to do it one more time like he does with you? Would she smile so lovingly at him, the way that you do?
You shook your head, „For heavens sake,“ you merely mumbled to yourself, not believing where your thoughts were going.
You were about to turn around and wake your best friend up for some entertainment, when you caught something moving behind the bushes on your right. The metal of your guns were in your fingers in a heartbeat, your feet finding a steady place automatically. If you called out for Usopp to wake up right now, the unknown thing would know that you had noticed it, so you had to keep calm and wait for the right moment to shoot a bullet — a warning bullet on the ground or a warning bullet in the flesh. You could feel the adrenaline pumping through your veins and again, the bush moved quickly. And then it parted. You gun was raised instantly, finger already on the trigger, when you let out a disappointed sight.
„Zoro, what the hell!“
Out of the bush came every one of your crew members, some packed with bags, some swaying slightly on their feet and when you looked at the green haired swordsman, who was at the front, you couldn’t help but shake your head at the bottles of Sake in both his hands.
„The plan worked perfectly, Y/N!“ Was the first thing Nami said once her feet touched Sunny’s grass, „Luffy already brought her back home and the city was so relieved that they gave us everything for free!“ Nami squealed, shaking the full bags in front of you. „I even got some stuff for you! Look at this!“ She took out a shirt and started to rant about how pretty it would look on you, when you started frowning.
„But where is Luffy?“
There was a small pause.
The rest of the crew had successfully woken up Usopp and were in midst of telling him what had happened. Nami and you stood a few meters away.
„Well, look,“ her eyes flickered back and forth, fingers now raising to play with her orange hair. „He’s still at the castle. Apparently the king liked him so much that he insisted on keeping him there. I think he promised him some meat and, well,“ she laughed nervously. „You know how he is.“
You gave her a small smile. „Yeah, I guess I do.“  You merely said and left the deck for the aquarium. Ignoring the wild conversations outside, you let yourself plop down on the velvet seating and looked at the shark swimming around the otherwise empty water. Luffy and Usopp had put the shark in as a joke once and stupidly enough, it had eaten the rest of the fish. Now it only swam around and looked angrily at everyone that passed him. The red fabric underneath you makes a dull sound as you shift around, worry swimming around in your own head.
You got it, honestly. He didn’t have to come back first things first. Luffy had all the right to stay as long as he wanted. He was your captain. If he wanted to stay, he could stay. You had no reason to be feeling the way you did. But it didn’t stop the headache that found its way inside of you. Even though he didn’t had to, it would have been nice if he did. With a sigh, you could feel the jealousy blossoming in your heart.
You grabbed one of the deco pillows and hugged it close to you, suddenly feeling drained and tired. The feelings inside you were a mess and what was even worse, was that they were caused by nothing. Nothing but your own thoughts had caused this. Luffy did nothing bad, but you were still all up in yourself. And soon enough, the disappointment in yourself lulled you into a soft, dreamless sleep.
Time passed quickly. The first thing you noticed was the shake of your body and the tight grip someone had on your arm. Sleep was still surrounding you like a big, warm blanked, but step after step it was taken away from you as the shaking on your arm grew heavier.
„Y/N, wake up. You slept long enough~!“ Luffy was crouching down in front of you, brown eyes full of excitement. The dark fabric of the seat was now pressed against your cheek and with a groan you noted that you must have lain down unconsciously. Your bones made a few sounds as you stretched your arms and sat up. „Finally!“
„I must have fallen asleep,“ you mumbled quietly. Luffy was still crouching down in front of you, but now he let his hand graze your thigh. You wanted to grab his hand with your own, eager to finally have him back with you, when the thoughts from earlier sprang wild in your mind. You abruptly got up, making the hand fall down on the seat. „What time is it?“
„Uh, almost midnight, I think? The celebrations are fully on right now, we should leave before we miss all the good stuff! Nami said you were asleep for a long time, so you probably missed most of it anyway.“
„I’m not going.“
When Luffy stood, you crossed your arms. You were now a feet away from each other, but it was too far away, and yet not far enough for you. To hold in your feelings, you bit the inner side of your cheek. After all the things that clouded your day, he just popped out of nowhere and wanted to celebrate? It was midnight now, so there were a few hours that he had not been here. What was he thinking? What was he doing?
„Why not?“ He merely asked and the genuine confusion in his face made the blood in your veins prickle. He now leaned against the little wooden table in front of the seats, arms swaying softly back and forth. His straw hat was still perched up on his head, but his red shirt, which was closed before, was now opened and showed the deep scar on his chest. „Are you feeling ill? Should I call Chopper? I could find him quickly, if I leave now. I think he went to the plaza—“
„No.“
His brows furrowed again, then he started to rub his finger underneath the space of his nose. „Sanji told me this would happen eventually,“ he mumbled sheepishly, mostly to himself. You balled your hands into fists. „Are you…,“ He looked to the side, his cheeks now colouring slightly. „Are you mad at me?“
Your mind went blank. Did Luffy really just notice that you were mad at him? Or feeling unwell? That certainly was a first, you thought surprised.
„I…“ There was no point in sulking any more. Your feelings were hurt and you had to let him know. „Yes, I am.“
„Why?“ Luffy took a step towards you. His eyes were concentrated on your face, as if he could find the answer in your features and if you hadn’t been so overwhelmed with all of your feelings, you would have giggled at that. „I didn’t have that much fun, I promised you I wouldn’t.“ He nodded his head, taken your words from earlier literal.
„I didn’t like how you ignored me.“ You breathed out and cringed at the way you sounded. But that is what it was, right? He gave the princess what you wanted; his attention.
„Ignored?“ He merely asked and again, he was genuinely confused. He leaned his head to the side, fingers holding the hat on top of his head. He was thinking hard, you realised and again, you wanted to hug him so bad. „Ah… I think I know what you mean.“
And then he giggled.
„This is not funny, Luffy.“ But he still giggled. You shifted your weight. This was really testing your limits. Why the hell was he laughing?
„Lulu said that you were mad that I hugged her earlier. She even said that she felt bad for making you feel…,“ He made a high sound. „jealous? But I told her that I loved you. And that you shouldn’t worry. Why would I like someone else?“ He tapped his fingers against his chin. „I don’t need to like someone else.“ And then his eyes met yours. „Because I have you!“
You couldn’t believe that you thought Luffy ignored you on purpose. Or that he was affected by someone as pretty as Princess Lilly. He never cared about anything like that, so why should he start now? He picked you. You, not her or anyone else. You could feel another wave of shame crash over you. You hated Princess Lilly when she didn’t mean any harm to you. And yet, you let your own insecurities get a hold of you. You winced.
„I’m sorry.“  You whispered then and let your head fall down in your hands.
You heard him before you felt him.
Luffy was stretching his arms and let himself crash into you a second later. The impact was hard enough to swoop you off your feet, but before your back could hit the floor, he turned you both around so you lay on top of him and fell onto something soft. His laugh echoed through the whole room, making the shark in the water glare at the two of you. „You’re so funny, Y/N.“
„No,“ you pouted then and felt your cheeks redden when his hands grabbed your face. „No, I’m not.“
„I’m sorry.“ He then said, voice serious again. And yet again, you were surprised by his reaction. You didn’t know that Luffy could be this mature. At least not in situations like that. As a matter of fact, he was more mature than you were. The shame pinged again. „I will never hug someone else again. Not even Chopper. Even though he is so soft and fluffy…“
You snorted and let your head fall down on his chest. He pressed his arms stronger against you. „Was that wrong? I thought I was supposed to say that? Sanji told me to apologise if you get mad at me, and I did?“
„No, Luffy… it’s okay.“ You giggled. „You can hug anyone that you like. It was my fault. I didn’t like that she was so pretty and you spent so much time with her.“ You softly shook your head and looked back up to him. „I reacted stupid. You did nothing wrong.“
„I didn’t mean to make you feel like that.“ He then said, words filled with truth. But you already knew that.
„I know.“ You let your fingers touch his cheek, the feeling of him still so… interesting underneath your own nerves. „I know, Luffy.“ You whispered.
He smiled. „Do you want to go and celebrate now?“
You let out an amused hum and pushed yourself up, now sitting on his lap. He sat up as well, arms still wrapped tightly around you.  „Of course.“
„Sanji said I should kiss you after we fight. He talked so much that day… told me to do all these weird things. Said I should really kiss you. Either that or he will come and do it for me.“
The laugh bubbled out of you before you could stop it and a second later, Luffy joined you. Like fools the two of you sat on the floor of the aquarium and laughed.
But at least Sanji didn’t have to come that evening.

Entangled
en·tan·gled (adj.) Twisted together; interconnected.
Eustass Kidd joins the Flying Six. The Kidd Pirates go to war.
(Or: Welcome to the worst timeline.)
Tags: Canon Divergence, Blood and Violence, References to Brainwashing, Rescue Missions, Hurt/Comfort (It’s a solid 80% hurt you have been warned)
Set in Wano, Act Three. Spoiler warning for all of Wano. This is an AU where Kidd is imprisoned on Onigashima and Killer doesn’t eat SMILE.
Content warning for some torture, some blood and references to brainwashing.
***
They’re dead, they said.
Wiping blood from his mouth, Kidd had laughed. “My crew? Dying to cock-faced cunts like you? Never.”
They fought to get to you and they died, they said as cruel hands dug into Kidd’s hair and put him under, over and over.
“They didn’t”, Kidd bit back. “They’re alive”, words fractured by the water in his throat, his lungs. Again – they will come – and again – they’re fine – and again – they’ll come for me. By then he couldn’t catch enough breath to speak but it was there, conviction burning bright in his chest.
They said, he’s dead, and even though his eyes could barely see and his ears were ringing, Kidd recognized blue and white and Killer. Kidd’s veins ached with whatever they pumped into him, his brain struggling to tell truth from lie, dream from reality.
The mask is there, real. The seams Kidd worked a full day and night on to get them just right, cracked apart and caked with blood where Killer’s temple would be–
They’re dead, they say and Eustass Kidd’s world shatters apart.
***
The Victoria Punk strains against the raging of the sea, waves mighty as mountains crashing against her skull and bursting into a thousand pieces. Killer doesn’t turn his head away from the spray, lets the ocean sting every inch of exposed skin.
Under his mask, his eyes stare straight into Onigashima’s soulless gaze.
“Hey, you there! Spikey’s friend!”
Strawhat’s voice rings true through the winds and the rain. Killer keeps his arms crossed and nods, the gesture over-articulated to carry despite the storm. “Stick to the plan, Strawhat! We’ll catch up to you on the other side!”
A smile and a thumbs-up from Strawhat to his right, a sardonic laugh from Law to his left. “Wouldn’t have pegged you for an optimist, Massacre Soldier.”
All Killer gives him is the bird. Kidd would’ve laughed at that, he thinks.
Wire is at the helm, hands steadfast and solid. “Keep course”, Killer tells him as he hops down on deck. “There’s a spot at the bottom of the bay. The Punk should be safe there.” Heat flanks him as the rest of the crew gathers, every face around him retaining that grim sort of tenacity that carried them through the past month.
There’s exhaustion there too, so keen Killer can sense it: None of them can quite shake that phantom presence permeating the Punk, the constellation of their very being-together fundamentally incomplete.
To sail into battle without Kidd is… wrong, inconceivable, almost. Killer has endured all magnitudes of that feeling while they scoured every corner of Wano Country in search for that element that will make them whole again, that unique gravitational pull that makes their individual parts click into each other like carefully-crafted machinery.
(It doesn’t get easier, being without him. Missing him. Killer can’t tell why he ever expected it to.)
“Stay low”, Killer reminds his crewmates, his voice as steady as it’s been since this nightmare started. “Find the Flying Six, that’s our priority. We have to get to Kidd before the raid starts, or things will get messy.”
For years, Killer’s mask has been a comfort; the immediate “Aye, Captain” he gets in return makes him wince where the crew can’t see it. It’s a necessity, for them to remain in the dark about his weakness – about the visceral fear that shot through Killer when he realized Kidd is gone and all eyes fell on him to make the next step.
(This has been a possibility since the very beginning yet Killer never expected to live long enough for it to become reality. Always together, even in death, that was the plan.)
*
From the moment their boots touch land, all Killer can think of is Kidd. Find Kidd, save Kidd, a near-obsessive mantra playing in his head on an endless loop as they leave the Punk behind.
For weeks he lived as Kamazo the Manslayer, every scrap of intel extracted in crimson splatters under moonlit skies. Alliances made and information combined for one purpose alone, and it’s worth it to pass by hordes of drunks and people-soon-to-be-drunks unnoticed. Every step the Kidd Pirates make on Onigashima is accounted for, their approach methodical sans the perpetual chaos Kidd’s mere existence brings.
Killer hates how easy it is, to become something other than themselves. There is no time to waste on regret, not here. They have to keep going.
Finally: There is the fortress, there are the Flying Six – and among them, a flash of red Killer would recognize anywhere, anytime. His vision narrows down to the shape of Kidd perched on the parapet, dressed black-on-black like the rest of them, and a murmur goes through the crew behind him. By some animal instinct, Kidd’s head turns and he stares right at them, too.
And for the first time in a month Killer inhales and feels his lungs unfold, his chest swell with a full breath. Kidd is there. He’s right there, and Killer’s too far away to pick up any details but Kidd is alive and now he knows they’re here, too. All that’s left is to get him out of here and regroup and–
“Soldier, watch out!”
–the shout is almost drowned out by Killer’s instincts. He tears his scythes up in the last second to deflect the little bits of something raining down on them. Shrapnel, the ground littered with it in moments.
What the…?
The thunderclap of Conqueror’s Haki precedes a furious roar he has heard a hundred times, a hundred battles over. Killer catches sight of Kidd, and how scrap gathers and swirls around him, the eye of a silver-tinged hurricane about to hit, and his mind stalls as that murderous glare locks on him.
Then Kidd is upon them.
Metal screeches against metal, the air turning sharp and heavy with Kidd’s will as his fists clash against Killer’s scythes. There’s not a shred of hesitance to the strike: A fraction of a second is all Killer gets to seek out Kidd’s eyes, glowing with the sparks exploding in all directions between them, and Killer’s gut drops at the cold fury he finds there.
That, and bloodlust so strong he can taste it. Oh fuck.
The force of the attack has Killer’s heels skidding back a few feet – motherfucker, Kidd isn’t holding anything back, is he? – before Kidd’s gaze flicks to the side and he scoffs, a pissed-off tch.
A breath, drawing deep. Flames engulf them both, then, the fire throwing up a wall that gives Killer some room to breathe.
“Heat”, he gasps, and they motion for him to move. Wire isn’t far behind, grabbing Killer by the elbow and dragging him away from the inferno swallowing the person they came to save. “You okay? Killer. Did he–?”
Killer can barely look elsewhere. “No. I’m fine, Wire, let me– What the hell did they do to him?” The last part is little more than a snarl, something venomous and ugly within him stirring. Just a glimpse of it sends Killer’s heart on a warpath, beating hard enough to throb even in his fingertips.
Wire’s expression is drawn, lips a tense line. “I don’t know but this is bad. There’s too much metal on all of us.” Which is by design, to help Kidd get around in a fight and– Fuck. Fuck.
A handful of seconds, that’s all Heat can buy them. Fire can’t hold Kidd, not for long, the man himself forged in heat and pressure just as the metal he commands. Killer grits his teeth to see Kidd emerge from plumes of smoke wiping soot off that same look on his face, lethal and so cold, and he pulls both Heat and Wire behind himself.
“Leave him to me. Take the others and–”
Wire’s hand goes bruise-tight on Killer’s arm. Heat hisses, “Killer–”
“Listen to me. Kaido’s forces will follow him here any minute. Keep them off our backs. Buy us time. Whatever this is, Kidd will fight it. I just have to make him listen.”
Two little words stick to Killer’s tongue, almost making it out of his mouth. Captain’s orders. He doesn’t have to say them, though, the tense sigh Wire exhales an answer in and of itself.
“Fine, just– Stay sharp. Let’s go, Heat.”
“Yeah”, Heat says with a final glance Kidd’s way, and they’re gone. Disappearing from Killer’s limited field of vision, and Killer trusts they will keep the crew safe. It’s not like he can turn and check, not with Kidd stalking ever-closer.
Coming for him, not the crew. Just him. A joyless smile stretches Killer’s lips wide. Good.
“Care to explain what game you’re playing, Kidd? We’re here to take you home.”
Kidd snaps at him, “Shut the fuck up”, teeth big and white against the backdrop of black leather Kidd is wearing. His face is bare for the first time in years, his hair slicked back like he couldn’t give any less of a damn how it looks. Killer’s gaze falls on the symbol of the Beast Pirates on the thick belts crossing over his chest and his heart lurches, skips out of rhythm–
“I don’t care who you are. I’ll fucking kill you for wearing that mask.”
Killer stares.
“Who I…? The mask is mine. It’s mine, Kidd, you made it for me. I’m–”
Oh shit, the earth itself shakes from the pulse of magnetism Kidd draws in every last bit of metal with, Killer’s arms threatening to snap out of their sockets as his scythes are pulled in, too. “Don’t you dare”, the words are a growl more than anything. “Don’t you fucking dare say his name”, and the pressure drops to be replaced by brute physical force as Kidd lunges.
Killer doesn’t stand a chance against Kidd, he knows that. There’s his Devil Fruit, his natural strength, his skill with damn-near every weapon he’s collected – ever since he unlocked the Haki to match, Kidd has shrugged off any and all limits imposed on him. Killer knows what Kidd can do, knows his body better than his own, some days, knows every emotion that flashes in that rust-red gaze of his.
And, with Kidd hellbent on ripping him apart, Killer knows he’s but one misstep away from a very violent death.
Countless times they’ve fought yet this is an entirely different beast: The only advantage Killer has is speed, and even that is rendered meaningless in the face of Kidd’s powers turning the metal on his body into anchors, his wrists and neck aching trying to withstand that particular gravity. Time and time again they collide, a spray of sparks and panted breath as Killer stares into the hate-filled eyes of the man he loves and doesn’t back down.
As he tells him, “It’s me, Killer, it’s me, I came back for you”, and Kidd snarls, beyond words.
Something has to give and for a moment there, Killer thinks it might not be him. Kidd is panting, growing pale and covered in sweat. This close, Killer can see the fresh wounds left to scar, dotting his chest with sickening precision, and the mottled bruises blooming on his neck, right over his pulse point.
Whatever they put him through, it’s recent enough for Kidd to look like he’s on the verge of collapse once he’s burned through his rage, and Killer despises himself for drawing hope from that.
Then Kidd stumbles, Killer hesitates – and Kidd nails him in the side, a punch too swift for Killer to block, and the taste of copper spills on Killer’s tongue as he feels his ribs give before he twists. The second fist is inches from connecting when Killer slips his hand out of the metal guard slowing him down and elbows Kidd in the face, stomach turning at the immediate gush of blood that clearly spells broken nose.
They fall apart, Killer holding the scratched-and-bruised mess of his midriff and Kidd groaning with his face tucked into his elbow. Struggling to breathe through the pain, Killer fumbles for his second scythe, throwing it to the side where it lands with a dull thud, unseen. Kidd is staring at him, mouth open and painted crimson.
Then Killer’s fingers hook into the back of his mask and he pulls it off, the world suddenly too-bright, too-loud, overwhelming – it all pales against the fear choking him, smothering any ounce of reason Killer clung to without Kidd there to guide him.
“Kidd, it’s me”, he says, the words small between them, on the brink of vanishing altogether. Well and truly lost, for the first time since they met. “Your partner. Please. I don’t know what to do. Please come back to me.”
And Kidd– He staggers towards him, like he can’t help it. “You’re dead”, he whispers, helplessly hoarse. “You died. You’re dead, Kil.”
Killer’s eyes sting as tears well up; he bites the inside of his cheek until it bleeds. Thinks, oh, and his mind puts together the puzzle pieces even if all he feels is his heart break.
“I’m right here. Right here, Kidd.”
Step by step Kidd’s fists lose their substance, metal falling to the ground in chunks and pieces and loose gears. Kidd asks, “…Killer?”, and it sounds so painfully uncertain, so threadbare and fragile that Killer throws caution to the wind.
Kidd’s knees give the moment Killer reaches for him. He doesn’t manage to catch the fall but it doesn’t matter, the feeling of Kidd’s arm sliding around his neck like breaking the water’s surface, like coming home at long last. His stump is left bare, bandaged and sore-looking, lacking the mechanics that have become Kidd as much any other part of him. Killer holds that shoulder before he does anything else, the tension there beyond unbearable to watch.
“Killer”, Kidd rasps, and Killer kneels so he doesn’t have to strain himself so much. “K-Kil, fuck, I didn’t– I thought–”
Half-realized words turning to heaving gasps, and Killer wraps himself around him as his shirt grows wet where Kidd’s head is tucked against his neck, equal parts blood and tears with how fucked up Kidd’s nose is. Murmurs against his hair, “It’s okay”, rubs a hand up and down the groove of his spine.
“Shh, it’s okay. I’m here. We’re all here, Kidd. Not leaving you behind, ever, got it?”
It’s there, with Kidd in his arms, that Killer becomes aware of their surroundings once more: There’s distant cannon fire, and battlecries cut short; the cracking of rifles and ringing of blades being drawn and crossed; bit by bit, the world reshapes itself into the beginnings of a war around them. The first thing Killer sees is a loose circle of backs turned towards them. Dead ahead, the signature woosh of Heat’s breath-turned-fire illuminates the silhouette of each and every member of their crew fighting tooth and nail to uphold the perimeter.
Closest to them, Wire’s trident blurs with motion as he smashes a volley of arrows out of the air, aimed directly at Kidd’s vulnerable back. A glance over his shoulder, and Wire’s eyes widen as they meet Killer’s.
Properly catching his gaze, for the very first time. Killer nods at him, mouths, we gotta get outta here. Wire reads his lips and smiles, unwavering.
Kidd is stirring as well, eyes red-rimmed and weirdly naked without the heavy black around them. He wipes at the blood that hasn’t quite stopped dripping down his chin before he looks up. Stares at Killer like he can’t quite believe he’s there, and then:
“Shit. Fuck, Killer, your mask”, Kidd mumbles urgently, an exhausted motion of his hand pulling closer the scattered remnants of their fight. “Where’s– Ah.”
And something in Killer breaks a little more at the gentleness with which Kidd handles his mask, his fingers unsteady as they wipe dirt and blood off the blue-white stripes before offering it to Killer, those red eyes tender with unspoken emotion.
Kidd doesn’t do apologies, mostly because there aren’t many actions he deems truly reprehensible, but... If apologies were Kidd’s thing this would be it.
Killer exhales a soft breath and presses a kiss to the line between Kidd’s shaved brows. “C’mon”, he says, and he hides his face before hoisting Kidd up to his feet, a breath shuddering out of him as his ribs shift in his chest. Kidd’s hand brushes over the furrows he left on Killer’s skin, frown deepening yet he doesn’t speak.
Piece by piece, they put themselves back together until they’re Eustass ‘Captain’ Kidd and Massacre Soldier Killer once more. There is hell to pay, a war to win and an Emperor to kill – when Kidd steps forward to rejoin their crew, he doesn’t waver and neither does Killer, following close behind.

So... I have this bad habit where sometimes, when attempting to summarize the idea for a fic, I go into waaay too much detail.
Like, I don't go as far as to actually wrote the damn thing because, you know, effort and laziness, but... Well, it's a close call. It gets to the point where it's less a summary and more what my friends use to call a Quick Fic. All that's .kissing is the actual dialogue and descriptive narration.
Having said that....
Here is a "summary" of an ZoLaw AU where Law works for Doflamingo...
What happened was, basically, Law got caught by Doflamingo after eating the devil's fruit which eventually allowed him to cure his dieses, thus why he's still alive. Or, at least, isn't dead from lead poisoning. Because let's face it, Doflamingo could have just killed the boy then and there. Sure, he'd have to find the fruit all over again, but better that the deal with this little traitor
Except really it was his brother who had been the traitor. Law is still just a child, and children can be so suspectable to any number of ideas so long as an adult gives them a pat on the head and a treat after.
Which is when Doflamingo realizes that he can just manipulate Law into being another loyal follower. Then eventually - when he's no longer useful - Doffy will have him sacrifice his life for his own immortality. By that point Law will be family, and family never lets Doffy down. Not anymore.
So it's under Doffy's personal tutorage that Law grows up, and as much as he might resit the man who imprisoned Corazon, it's hard not to eventually fall to all Doflamingo's sweet praise and promised. And Law gets what he had wanted all along: a way to get back at the world that willingly watched his home wiped off the official world map and would be happy to see the entire town dead to the very last one. This Law truly earns his title Surgeon of Death, acting as the top officer of Hearts in the Doflamingo crime family. And yet despite his cruelty, he isn't even on the government's wanted list; protected under the Shichibukai's jolly roger.
In the meantime, the Strawhats are still doing their thing right on through Punk Hazard (which they somehow manage to not only live through but actually do more damage and cause twice as much chaos. The biggest difference is that Ceaser and Monet escape and Sanji can't perv out over being in Nami's body). So this time when they roll into Dressrosa it's less "backing up the plan of an ally" and much more "on complete and total accident" and "without a damn clue".
Yeah, basically they're the Grand Line's easiest prey.
But, hey, it works out! Well, no, not really. But Sanji does meet Violet, Luffy meet Sabo and help recover Ace's devil's fruit, and Zoro does get lost and require a magic fairy guide. Plus, hey, since they're not really there for any purpose other than that they happened to be passing by, it's not like they can't pull a dine and dash. They may be unprepared, but The Monster Trio can still keep up the fight until everyone is back on the Sunny.
A perfect escape!
Except no.
Because Luffy isn't totally ready to leave, not when he wants to know more about what Sabo is doing and help his new friend Rebecca. Not that they have time to debate the merits of staying or pulling a tactical retreat since at that poing Big Momma is on their ass. And that scary dude in the long black coat is still somehow following them, teleporting himself through the fucking air like wtf why is this happening now!? Nami is forced to make an executive decision: they're can't stay. Also, oh God oh God they're trapped and they're going to be killed and oh God.
It's moments like these you're almost thankful one of your crew members is a total maniac. Because in the middle of all this mess, Zoro just smirks, tells Nami to just concentrate on getting away from that annoying ass ship, he's got their other attacker covered. Which only makes everyone freaks out MORE because what is Zoro thinking: he'll be killed! ("Not immediately, of course. First they'll likely torture him for information, perhaps even kill him as slowly as possible." / "What? Why would you say that? That is not SUPER helpful to hear right then!") The Sunny goes into an all out panic attack. Everyone is yelling or crying or both.
Except Luffy.
Luffy who looks at Zoro, at the singing ship, at the dark power user trying to slash their ship apart, at the shore line of this island and the way it radiates a fake happiness covering Rebecca's very real pain. Luffy who just lowers his hat over his eyes and gives the nod.
Zoro smiles, and is immediately almost clobbered by a giant Chopper. What is Luffy saying? Don't they realize that is the same guy who almost took down Sanji, Zoro AND Luffy only moments ago? Zoro can't fight him alone! Sanji, more calm than the rest, lights a cigarette while explaining that he's not trying to stop Zoro from getting himself killed or anything, but Chopper is right. That guy was incredibly tough, and there's no way Zoro can do it alone ("Shut up dartbrow! You don't know what the hell you're talking about! I could take him down with just the two swords! With one hand behind my back!" / "He already kicked your ass once, Marimo! Or have you forgotten because of all the head trauma!?" / "The only reason he kicked OUR asses is because YOU kept getting in my way you damn weak-ass cook!" / "WHAT DID YOU CALL ME, IDIOT MARIMO!?") Franky tries to regulate the fight but he's busy blocking those deadly aimed slashes from hitting his poor ship while Brook and Kin'emon work on stopping the incoming cannon balls. Either way they're going to have to do something SUPER fast if they want to get out of here. Yeah, Luffy, we need an actual plan. We can't just send Zoro out to-
"Zoro", Luffy says and despite everything going on around them the deck of the Sunny goes really quiet. They all know that tone. "Zoro, I need you to take care of this until we can get back. I still need to kick Mingo's ass for a friend."
At the sound of his captain's no nonsense voice, Zoro is suddenly easily able to stand, shrugging off the pile of people trying to stop him from jumping to his death (and by pile of people I do mean the coward trio and Sanji, who is mostly just trying to get in a few kicks). He draws Wado, clutching the katana in his teeth and yet still somehow manages what you know is a smirk. It's a promise.
And like that, Zoro is launching himself right into the blue sphere of the battle.
A battle against one of Doflamingo's top officers. A devil's fruit user with a twisted heart and home field advantage. Needless to say, it does not end well for our hero.
—🧡—
Although, Law has to give his rival swordsman some credit. He has his share of fun toying with the boy, and despite never standing any real chance of victory Law can admit the strawhat pirate puts up a better fight than most. Far better than Law had been expecting from some one so new to the New World (supposedly he got Mihawk to agree to train him, but Law has met the Hawk Eye and finds the idea utterly absurd). Then there is the way his smile had just an edge of what Law could only call manical delight, even when it became clear he'd long lost. This greenhaired kid really is stupid enough to believe his captain will come back for him. As though he would come charging back into Doflamingo's territory a second time just to retrieve a single crew member. One who was not only crazy enough to sacrifice himself but couldn't even win the fight. At the same time the swordman's loyalty and faith - as misplaced as it is - is kind of... Adorable. Who knew someone could come so far on the Grand Line and still be so innocent?
Law immediately wants to corrupt it.
Thes other family members will whine tell you, Doffy has always had... Let's say... A "soft spot" for Law. He's spoiled that brat for years, is what they mean but don't dare to say. Sure enough, Law barely has to work to talk Doffy around to letting him personally see to the prisoner's arrangements. Doflamingo is a little suspecious at first (he can never truly trust Law, not after the Corazon incident), but he quickly dismisses it. He's had the Heart Officer's loyalty for years now.
Of course, when he sees the spark of interest light in his apprentice as they eye their newest spoils of war, he can't help but tease Law. After all, Zoro is quite an enticing young man and Law isn't the only one there who likes pretty things. They're so fun to destroy which - judging from the way Law shivers when Doffy runs a hand through thick green hair before yanking the boys head back against the wall hard enough to leave the young captive panting and dizzy - is precisely his protege's plan.
(Doflamingo also happens to know Zoro almost definitely had trained under Mihawk, and he would love to see his fellow warlord's eyes flash with barely contained anger when he learns how Doflamingo has broken his favorite toy. It's not his fault - Mihawk is always so uptight and repressed, it makes agonizing him too much fun for Doflamingo to resist.)
In the end, though, he knows when Law's determination is set. And for whatever reason the boy has decided he absolutely has to be the one to keep their guest "comfortable" while his captain makes up his mind on what he'll do. So Doflamingo only teases for a bit - touches a little, plays with the barely conscious boy kneeling at his feet, enjoys the way Zoro still has enough spirit left to try taking bite when Doffy's fingers trail to close to his bloody lips (oh, and, what a joy! Law nearly growls at the prospect of not being the one to ruin the boy!) - but eventually he stops his little game. He gives in, telling Law to have fun with his treasure. He is the one who took him down after all. It is only fair he keeps him.
Just try not to completely break the poor thing, not until Strawhat returns for him.
Law snorts at the very idea. This is hardly the first time they'd done this. He's never seen a single captain try and retrieve their stolen property (he has of course, but he doesn't remember them). He doesn't see why Strawhat-ya would be particularly special.
Before Doflamingo can come up with a clever, vague answer about Law trusting him, Zoro suddenly gives a bark of laughter that would have scared lesser men senseless. It only serves to draw the two men's interest back to their little pet.
Luffy won't come back for him, Zoro confirms, much to Law's surprise (he personally never thought Strawhat-ya would, but then why would the swordsman sacrifice himself so willingly for a man he has so little faith in?) and has Doflamingo raising an eyebrow in.... Interest. Zoro looks at both of them with no fear, like he hadn't taken a humiliating defeat and is even now bloody and chained up, helplessly listening in on these two infamous pirates talk about him like he is a mere object. Actually, if anything, he appears to be wearing a smirk under all that blood. Because he knows something they don't.
Luffy won't come back for him, because his captain knows Zoro doesn't need to be rescued.
To Law, this makes Zoro look like an even sweeter treat. Doflamingo is simply amused, remarking that perhaps their little pup has yet to realize the leash around his neck is shaped like a noose.
Zoro meets his gaze, steady yet daring. He promised Luffy that he'd take care of it, and so that is what he will do. He'll never go back on his word, especially when it comes to his captain. Something Doflamingo with his distrusting and fear-toed crew couldn't understand. So see, their plan to use Zoro as bait will never work, because Zoro swore to Luffy that he'd be take care of it. So he will. Luffy has enough faith in Zoro that he'd never believe anything less and would never turn around out of doing to try and mount a rescue.
No, when Luffy comes back it will be for the sole purpose of kicking Doflamingo's ass.
The mood darkens. In a flash, Doflamingo is in back in front of him, yanking Zoro forward by the chin. He squeezes hard enough to bruise. You can hear the cracking of bone as he explains to Zoro exactly how precarious his current position is only to grow second by second more frustrate by Zoro's completely lack of fear. So he squeezes harder. He slams the boys head back into the wall and starts smiling when he gets a since from the stoic swordsman.
Before he can do any real damage Law steps in, reminding Doffy that he promised him he could have the boy. And just like that, Doflamingo's whole mood appears to shift back to calm. He puts on his fake smile and let's Zoro go, even pets the boy's hair. Of course, he had promised. And he, too, is a man of his word. Something Zoro will surely learn in time now that he is one of them.
Zoro, now with blurred vision and the taste of fresh blood on his tongue, is smart enough not to answer. But not smart enough to lower his head or try and appear humbled. Lucky for him, Doflamingo decides the boy isn't worth it. When he turns around he notes the hungry way Law is eyeing the kneeling prisoner behind him. Which brings a crueller, yet more genuine, smile to Doffy's featurss. The Strawhats vice captain may act invincible now, but he's never faced Doflamingo's own Surgeon Of Death. As disinterested and put off as Law might usually act, the boy can be dangerously twisted. He's sure his top officer will break the young pirate down bit by bit - both literally and figuratively - long before his captain can come running back in to try and find him (and Doflamingo is sure Strawhat will, no matter what Zoro might think).
He leaves with one last reminder to Law not to completely shatter the infamous Pirate Hunter. No, Doffy would hate to see their newest family member treated so poorly, especially seeing as he has much bigger plans in store for the young Mr. Roronoa. Specifically, he wants to see the face of Monkey D Luffy when he watches as the last bit of his first mate's spirit broken.
And because Doffy practically raised the boy and knows exactly the right buttons to push, he decides to give Law a little extra motivation to bring Zoro to that point. Just in case that interest turns into something dangerous like longing or - laughable as it is - actual fondness. It's so simple, too: as he walks by he simply whispers how there is nothing like crushing the heart of unrequited love.
It will be such a treat, tearing Zoro from his captain, and watching Luffy realize he's lost his chance to love the other man, wouldn't it Law? What a truly tragic romance. It almost makes you hope the two of them at least had some time together. Law didn't happen to give them a moment along before forcing Zoro to throw himself into the fight, hmm? Just a small, precious second or so for the two to share a final kiss. After all, not even Doffy is so cruel as to deny the poor boys such a tender moment.
Sure enough, Law's eyes immediately narrow and Doflamingo can feel the jealousy rolling off him. Not because Law gives a damn for their prisoner's feelings - Doflamingo raised him better than that - but he always has had a possessive streak. Having taken an interest in the swordsman, he will hate the thought that the boy might even think of another or that Law won't be the first to possess him in ever possible way.
Doffy leaves with a cruel, deep laugh. He can't wait until dinner, when he may just happen to remember the rumours about his "friend" Mihawk and his taking a young green-haired boy under this wing and in to his bed. By tomorrow he suspects every part of Zoro's body will bare at least some mark that he now firmly belongs to no one but Trafalgar Law.

Day Ten: Deprived
It's been too long since Law and Luffy had been together, luckily for them, Law had impeccable timing.
Word Count: 1.1k
"Captian!" The shouting echoed through the hall of the Polar Tang and Law was already on his feet. He could feel the waves rocking the submarine. It was so out of the blue that Law knew they were being attacked as soon and the first wave hit them.
Law had picked a bad time to resurface.
"What's going on!?" Law demanded, he was already making his way up to the deck with Ikakku by his side.
"There's a pirate ship and a marine ship going at it at 3 o'clock," Ikakku reported.
"Have the marines noticed us?" Law asked.
"Not yet I don't think," Ikakku said.
"Good, we'll get everyone inside and go back under, I'm not in the mood to fight marines today," Law muttered. Mostly he didn't want to have to stop to recover from any kind of battle. That would make him late to meet up with Luffy and Law certainly was not eager for that.
It was bad enough he missed Luffy the last time they were on the same sea. It had been almost six months since the last time he'd been with Luffy and it was driving him up the wall.
"Get the canon's ready!" Shachi ordered as Law stepped out onto the deck.
"No," Law corrected. "Get ready to go back under, I'd rather avoid a pointless battle!"
"Aye, capt'n!" Shachi echoed without hesitation.
"It's a little late for that!" Penguin called. A loose cannonball was hurling its way towards them. Danmed it all!"
"Besides, I don't think you'll want to miss this anyway," Penguin was beside Law with a smug grin. "Check out the jolly roger on that ship!" Penguin passed Law a telescope. Law gave him a questioning glance but took the telescope anyway.
He held it to his eye and found the pirate ship in question. A smiling lion figurehead was the first sign. And really the only one he needed. He knew the  Thousand Sunny almost as well as he knew his own vessel. Still, Law followed the length of the ship until he found the mainmast, and followed that up all the way to the black flag at the top. The skull wearing a strawhat was flapping proudly with the sea's wind.
"Change of plans! Bepo-ya, get us over to the battle!" Law ordered.
Penguin started laughing.
"Ready the cannons!" Penguin called.
"We just put them away!?" Leon complained.
"Sorry, Leon," Shachi slung his arm over the masked pirate's shoulder. "Our captain can't help but rush to his boyfriend's rescue."
"Oh, C'mon Shachi, they're 'just allies," Ikakku cut in with a small smile.
Law rolled his eyes. "Don't you all have something to do?"
"Oh, no we made dad mad," Penguin snickered.
"Go man a canon or something!" Law snapped.
"Aye," Penguin replied with a snicker. The three of them left Law and the ship started turning toward the fight. In no time Law's ship was just several yards away from the Thousand Sunny. Law could see the strawhats running back and forth across this ship. Law caught sight of a loose strawhat falling towards the sea. He still couldn't see Luffy. He must be on the Navy ship. Law rushed to the railing of the Polar Tang.
"Clione, do you have a shot ready?" Law asked.
"Yeah."
"Aim straight up," Law told Clione. Clione pulled the cannon back and aimed towards the sky.
"Fire," Law said calmly, his eyes on the hat that was still falling to the water.
The cannon fired, kicking back into the deck and leaving scorch marks. Law would have to have that buffed out later.
"Room!" Law's room opened and engulfed the Polar Tang and the Thousand Sunny Law switched the ball for Luffy's hat and the cannonball kept going up over the Marine ship. Perfect.
Luffy's hat fell onto the deck and Law picked it up, He pulled the string over his head and leat the strawhat hang on his back.
"Shachi-ya, take charge!" Law called before placing himself on the deck of the Thousand Sunny.
Usopp was on the deck with his slingshot readied and aiming for the ship in front of them.
"Mugiwara on the Navy ship?" Law asked.
"AH!" Usopp jumped at the sound of Law's voice, looking over his shoulder.
"Oh, it's you!" Usopp sighed and pulled back on the slingshot again.
"Where's Mugiwara-ya?"
"He's with Robin, Zoro, Sanji, and Franky on the Navy ship," Usopp said.
"Room." Law was on the Navy ship now, he had swapped places with one of the marines. Hopefully, Usopp enjoyed the surprise.
Law left the room open and drew his sword. Zoro came running past him, not even glancing at Law.
"GOMU GOMU!" Luffy's voice echoed across the open water like thunder. "GATLING!"
It rained fists and Law moved back to avoid Luffy's attack.
He still hadn't caught sight of Luffy at all.
The ship was getting broken into pieces that Law used his room to manipulate.
Soon enough, ship parts were swirling through the air and Law was cutting up the ship to Luffy's aid. There wasn't much left of it when they were done.
In the rubble, Law found Luffy on a piece of the Navy ship's hull. Law used his room to take him and Luffy to Sunny's deck.
"What!?" Luffy shouted he spun around only to nose to nose with Law.
"Been a while, huh, Love?" Law said with a small smirk.
"TORAO!?!" Luffy's smile grew and the next thing he knew Luffy's legs were wrapped around Law's waist and Law was holding Luffy up. Luffy didn't give Law much of a choice in that though.
Law was being attacked with kisses, on his cheeks, his forehead, his nose even. Law took a few short steps forward, where he could set Luffy onto the railing of the ship. Law cupped Luffy's face in his hands and kissed his lips.
God he had missed Luffy so much. Whatever divine force that saw it fit to deprive Law of Luffy for so long had better be ready to feel Law's wrath, that's for damned sure.
Luffy pulled away and smiled at Law. "What are you doing here?"
"Well, I was on my way to the Island you said you'd be at when I noticed this defenseless ship needed my help," Law joked.
"We weren't defenseless!" Luffy insisted. "I was kicking ass! I tore the whole ship apart!"
"With my help," Law added."
"I could have done it without you!"
"Oh, I'm sure you could have," Law relented and wrapped his arms around Luffy. "Though you did get pretty close to losing this."
Law pulled the strawhat off and held on to the brim between his fingers.
"Oh!" Luffy sat up a little straighter. "You saved it! You're the best!"
Luffy thanked Law with another kiss. Law could hear the whistling coming from his crew and used Luffy's hat to block their kiss from his crew's sight.

Merry Christmas to @emotrafalgar I am your Secret Santa this year for the @opsecretsanta2019 event! :)
I hope you enjoy these little drabbles I wrote (I couldn't decide on whether I want to write Lawlu or Zolu for you, so I did both).
<3<3<3<3
Snow can also be a good thing
It's snowing, Law realized as he opened up the door of the Polar Tang and almost turned back immediately. The sky was too grey and lifeless, the air was too cold, and the snowflakes were already landing on his face, his coat, his everything, uninvitedly.
He had to get on the Sunny to have a talk with the Strawhats about the plan, the route, the navigation, the logistics, the food, and the— his to-do list was knocked out of his head the moment he stepped on the Sunny, as he got tackled by Luffy before his second feet could even touch the deck.
"Morning Toraooo!" Luffy laughed with an open mouth as he settled on Law's chest, and petted his face with a cheerful expression. "Long time no see, where were you last night? You missed the party!"
"Get off me Strawhat-ya," Law hissed, while he tried to push the younger captain off of him, and simultaneously tried to put his hat back on his head. He failed at both.
"Make a snow angel first, everyone already did one, even your bear!" Luffy chuckled, his eyes were shining, his cheeks were flushed in the cold. "My name is Bepo!" Law faintly heard his crewmate's protest from the far end of the ship.
"Angels don't exist, now let me get up," he said impatiently. Luffy was too close, his smile was too wide, the tip of his nose was pinkish due to the cold, and he'd made Law's heart beat way too fast. A reaction to Luffy's proximity he'd been trying to ignore for weeks now.
"Ha ha, no way," Luffy laughed, and leaned a bit closer to grab his arms, and move them up and down next to his body to make the wings.
"We'll arrive at a new island in a minute, you have to do it no-," Law was suddenly saved by a huge snowball, which hit the middle of Luffy's back with such a momentum that it sent him flying.
“That is for ruining my great ‘Snow-Warrior of the Sea Usopp-sama’ statue Luffy!” Usopp shouted, preparing his catapult for the next shot.
Law got up and out of the way, and looked around. The Sunny was full of snow forms that the Strawhats and, to his surprise, his crew made.
There were snow reindeers, snow robots, some weird snow things Law couldn't recognize but supposed they were meant to look like fancy food, snow berries and treasure, snow swords held by a snowman, and some other unrecognizable figures as well.
Bepo and Penguin were still working on a miniature Polar Tang with such a deep focus they made Law smile.
His attention went back to Luffy pretty quickly though as he couldn't look away for long. Luffy was jumping around to dodge the snowball attacks, his hands grabbing everything in his way for support, his smile was never fading and his laughs were making him get butterflies in his stomach.
Suddenly two long arms grew out of the deck in front of him, one holding his hat, the other brushing the snow off of it.
"Here you go Torao-kun." Robin appeared next to him. She looked at him knowingly, the corner of her mouth turned up a little. Law felt himself blushing and quickly put his hat back to cover his face.
Somehow her expression made him remember why he came on board in the first place.
"Hey, Strawhat-ya" he tried again but as Luffy turned to him to answer, his eyes caught a glimpse of something behind him.
"We arrived!" Luffy yelled enthusiastically. Law turned and saw the island responsible for the winter weather. It had a mountain shaped like a Christmas tree in the middle, and all types of colorful lights were illuminating from it. Wonderful. He was so not in the mood for any of this.
Suddenly, Luffy was next to him, put an arm around his shoulder and looked up to him with the biggest eyes Law had ever seen. "Let's go together, and explore!" he said, and Law completely forgot how to say no.
As they docked, a flock of birds arrived to greet the ship and started to circle above them. They looked like big, green seagulls, with red beaks and golden eyes.
"Ahh, they look delicious!" Luffy eyed them hungrily, still holding onto Law who felt his side warming up where their bodies touched. "Sanji, I have found our lunch, let's catch them all!"
"Forget it, Luffy!"
"I would advise against that Captain." Sanji and Robin spoke up at the same time, but Sanji fell silent immediately and let her continue.
"First of all, the Mistletern bird is an inedible species and while I am certain this would not stop you, but they are also the sacred birds of the island of Snowflakia," she told them.
"The mistle- what?" Luffy asked back, but couldn't finish, because suddenly some of the birds struck down as if they were attacking them and after they dodged Zoro's and Brook's blades, Nami's Clima-Tact, and Bepo's claws, they landed on Luffy's hat, and Law's shoulder at the same time.
"What is your problem stupid bird!" Luffy tried to brush off his bird who looked incredibly smug with himself and stubbornly dodged his attempts.
Law wasn't successful in getting rid of his attacker either. He even used his power to shamble the bird away from him, but it flew back looking at him like he was an idiot, and settled back on his shoulder.
When he gave up, he saw Robin looking at them as she chuckled quietly. Next to him, Sanji looked as red as a lobster.
"What?" he asked nervously.
"They are also said to be a companion to people who want to kiss their love," she added with a mischievous glint in her eyes. “They are named after the mistletoe and the tern after all. I’m positive they won’t leave till it happens.”
Law felt like his whole body was setting itself on fire. He couldn’t even dare to look at Luffy when he said: “It must be just a superstition.”
“No, it is true,” Luffy said as he stepped closer to him, took Law’s hand and put his palm to the middle of his chest. “Because I do wanna kiss you Torao. D-do you want to kiss me?” he stuttered.
Law couldn’t do anything but look back at him. Luffy was smiling and looking at him bravely, but his cheeks were dark red, his whole body was shaking. He must be extremely nervous as well, he thought and felt a little bit better.
“Yes, I do,” he managed to answer and before he could change his mind he kissed Luffy right in front of everyone. His lips were soft and sweet, and Law felt him smiling into the kiss. He put his arms around Luffy and pulled him even closer.
Whatever cold he felt before, it completely disappeared. When they parted, Luffy looked into his eyes and sighed. “I’m so glad, because I love you, but I was sure you didn’t love me back,” he whispered so that Law would be the only one who heard him.
“I’m glad too,” Law replied quietly, still holding him in his arms. Luffy closed his eyes and put his head on Law’s chest.
“Snowflakia is my favorite island,” he sheepishly added. The birds suddenly flew away still wearing the same smug expression as if they were saying we told you so.
“Let’s look around then,” Law answered, now completely in the mood for the snow and ready for a new adventure. Anything was great, now that he had Luffy on his side.
(As they went, they faintly heard Usopp’s panicked voice from the ship: “My lady is very far from here, how am I supposed to kiss her like this? Be reasonable birdy!”).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Luffy’s present
When they meet up again after exploring the island separately, Zoro has a deep cut across his chest and the widest smile on his face.
“What happened to you Zoro?” Luffy asks angrily. “Who hurt you like this?” He is already ready to go back to hunt down whoever harmed his lover.
“Calm down Luffy,” he replies and even though he is still bleeding he grabs Luffy and spins him around enthusiastically. “I got you something I know you will love!” He puts him down and gently kisses him on the lips, that is so happy and heartwarming Luffy almost forgets he’s gotten hurt.
However, before he can give it to Luffy, Chopper attacks him and drags him to the infirmary. He goes back outside to meet him right after Chopper lets him go. He can’t wait to show him what he’s got.
Luffy is sitting on the Sunny’s head, looking at the sea and he smiles up to him when he sits down next to him. The sun is already going down, painting them in the warmest colors. Zoro looks into Luffy’s eyes and sees the light reflecting in them.
Zoro takes his hand, gently kissing the inside of his palm, making him blush. After all this time, he is still so in love with him. Then, he places a small, soft thing in Luffy’s hand: it looks like a blue sea urchin. Luffy looks back at him questioningly.
“Eat it,” Zoro says, smiling, so he does. It tastes terrible. Zoro laughs at Luffy’s sour expression.
“Come on,” he stands up, embraces Luffy, and jumps into the sea with him.
Luffy has no time to panic, as Zoro pulls him up and their heads are out of the water in a second. Luffy takes an enormous breath he doesn’t really need and Zoro laughs at him, holding him so close Luffy can see his wet eyelashes.
“Oi Zoro, what was that for?” Luffy complains, his heart is beating very fast, his body reminding that he could sink any second. “I’m a hammer in the wa- “ he doesn’t finish as he realizes his legs are moving, pushing the water below him, his arms are also working, holding onto Zoro.
“This is called the Kyanseru no Mi,” Zoro says. “I got it from the local marine base, I heard the rumors from my bounty hunter days that they were keeping it here. It can neutralize the ‘devil fruit curse’ for a whole day. You can swim and play in the water as much as you want for 24 hours.
Luffy has no idea what to say. He is so happy, he wants to jump out of this skin. He puts his hand on Zoro’s face and kisses him. Zoro’s lips are salty and wet and he kisses him back fiercely as if he never wanted to let him go.
“I love you,” Luffy says, and hugs him.
“I love you too,” Zoro whispers in his ears.
“Oi, are you guys okay?” they hear Sanji shouting, next to him Chopper is staring at them, alarmed. “What the hell happened?”
Luffy lets go off Zoro and waves at them, making Chopper nearly faint. “I’m okay!” he shouts back. “Zoro got me a fruit that allows me to swim for a whole day!”
The rest of the crew comes out for the noise and Usopp instantly jumps into the sea, dragging the swearing Sanji with him.
Robin smiles down them and senses that this is a beginning of a party Chopper would be very sad to be left out off, so she brings a lifebelt out for him, and gently puts him into the water as well.
Nami also joins them for a little, partly to look out for Chopper, and partly because the water is warm and nice. She leaves right before they start a huge water battle, which is followed by a jumping and diving competition as well.
Luffy wins the jumping one and Zoro wins the diving but it might be because it scares Luffy a little to dive down that much. He hunts down a huge fish though and Sanji gets out to cook it for them.
By the time the moon comes up and paints the water in beautiful silver light, only Zoro and Luffy stays behind.
“Lean back,” he tells Luffy and holds his head in his palms while he is floating.
Luffy closes his eyes, and he hears his own heart beating. He has never been this happy. He feels Zoro’s hand, holding him up, and he is doing the only thing in the world that should be impossible: he is in the water and he can enjoy it fully without being afraid, or immobilized.
He reaches up and pulls Zoro down for a kiss.
“Today, I have already done the impossible with your help,” he whispers after they part. “Tomorrow, I will become the King of Pirates.
“Of course you will,” Zoro whispers back, his voice trembling a little. “My King.”

Partner with an incurable disease: The Supernovas Edition
Hi! It's me again! I really enjoy your blog ❤ thanks for making me squeal everytime I log in to Tumblr ❤ By the way, I have something to ask again! Can you do a h/c where Luffy, Law, Zoro, X-Drake, Bonney, Hawkins, Kidd, Killer, Apoo, Urogue and Capone (basically Supernovas) react to finding out their s/o with a terminal disease? Like, its an incurable one? (coz I'm an evil brat, sorry not sorry, mwahaha) that even Law's ability can't do shit? I hope this is not too much! Have a nice day dear!
Warning: angst af and a rather long post ahead
Monkey D. Fluffy
“I don’t care, I’m not going to let you die!”
we all know he’d never accept this, and try to prevent the inevitable, even if he’s not really sure what to do and which medications he should seek for
Luffy wouldn’t really try to dig into the reason for his partner’s condition, he just needs a simple task that he can follow in order for them to survive
and when they don’t, even despite the boy’s pure intentions, he feels just as if he lost Ace for the second time
it would take a long time, and a lot of support from the Strawhats for the boy to get over it
Trafalgar Law
“I’m a doctor. You’re not leaving me, (Name)-ya. Not on my watch.”
but after all the check-ups and tests, deep down he knows there’s nothing to prevent their death, and that no matter how much he tries, the end result with always be the same
with this realization, he’d also lose his sense of purpose and all the goals that he wanted to achieve
“If you die...What else would be left in this world for me?”
so the man watches as life slowly leaves his partner’s body and soul with numb resignation, and would remain the same after their death
his crew would be the one to lift him up somehow, but it wouldn’t be enough for sure
he gets even more bitter, even more distant and empty, but I think he’d carry on until he either becomes the Pirate King or helps Luffy in becoming one
and after that, he feels like he can finally let it all go and indulge into his sadness, since there’s nothing else left for him to do
Roronoa Zoro
“How long do we have left?”
as much as he despises the sheer idea of it, he’d try to accept the facts and make peace with them, the sooner the better
wants to spend the whole time with them, not even necessarily talking, just simply being together and enjoying the simplest things about life
he wouldn’t talk much, if not at all, trying to remember every detail of their face, the tone of their voice and the manner in which they talk, to have something to remember
his coping mechanism involves spending his entire time training, exercising, getting stronger, to make sure he won’t fail his captain the same way he failed his partner
since, in his heart, he feels like it’s his fault they died, and that he could have done something to prevent it
Drake the T-rex
“No, please.”
he wants to cherish every moment he spends with his partner, whether on simple conversations, making promises, or staring off at the open ocean
makes sure they see as many wonders of the world as possible, that they are in their happiest state with no regrets
“That’s the least I can do for you.”
at night, when he holds them in his arms and listens to their calm breathing, he can’t help but shed a few tears, knowing that there’ll come a day when they won’t be around anymore, that he won’t be able to get their advice or simply trust anyone with his fears
as their body gets close to giving up, the man shifts into his most vulnerable state and sheer frustration
since he sees the only person who gives him hope, and who he can confide in, literally dying in front of his eyes and there’s nothing he can do
i don’t think he’d ever be able to form a relationship with anyone anymore, not after something like this
Jewelry Bonney
“No. No, you’re not.”
whenever she sees her partner, feels their touch, holds them in her arms, or simply hears them talk, she can’t help but burst into tears
“Tell me what to do. Tell me and I’ll do it.”
she’d seek for a cure, all the way till the end, so that she will be able to say that she’s done everything in her power to help them
would spend a lot of time either hugging them, or relishing in their closeness in their calming embrace
wants to remember all the little things about them - the way they smelled, talked and their daily habits
also keeps their personal items in a closed box on the  shelf, so that she’ll be able to remember all those details, even years later
she’s secretly afraid that, after some time passes, she won’t be able to conjure up the contours of their face and how they looked, it’s just terrifying
Basil Hawkins
“Wait for me up there.”
I think he’d be most at peace with it, out of all those rebels
he might have even predicted it? so that, when his partner confessed, he already knew all about it
the man may be caught on tenderly caressing their cheek or hair while they’re asleep, telling them all about his plans and goals for the future that he’d normally never reveal, to anyone
he wants them to know just how much trust he puts in them, and that he won’t hold any secrets from them
also, would want to hear all about their own ambitions and unfulfilled dreams, so that, once they let it all out, they’ll be able to die cleansed, with dignity
after their death, Hawkins won’t let his goals out of sight, but would secretly wait to join his lover, and try to predict the moment of his own death
Eustass Kid
"What are you talking about? Don’t fucking lie.”
mostly denial, mixed with pure rage and frustration
would probably take it all out on his ship’s doctor, and even his lover couldn’t reason with him on this
all the time that they have left, Kid spends on circling around getting himself hammered and carrying out slaughters, since his blood lust is getting unbearable and he can’t restrict it anymore
it gets even worse when his lover dies, and he gets the news while coming back to the ship while drunk out of his mind
the regret would be literally eating him alive, but it’s his rage that won’t let him lose himself in the sorrows
his idea of making it up for his partner is becoming as strong as possible and getting the title of the Pirate King
after their death, he won’t recall the times they’ve spent together much, since he doesn’t want to weaken himself, and he’s aware that it can bring him down to rock bottom
but, during the nights, he does it nonetheless, he’s not able to stop and, what’s worse, forgive himself, even in a million years
Killer
“There must be something that I can do.”
he wants to help, he wants to cure them, to prevent it somehow, or at least drag it out in time for as long as possible
their alone moments would be filled with anxiety and pure sorrow, at least until Killer realizes that’s not how he wants to spend their last moments
he starts to talk, a lot, and envelops them with his arms whenever they’re together, breathing in their scent and trying to imprint it in his memories
above all, the man wants them to pass away with dignity and in his embrace, doesn’t matter how hard it’ll be for him, their comfort is the number one priority
i don’t think he’d seek for any other partners after their death, it feels like a wrong thing to do for him
Apoo
“I know what to do.”
acts like he indeed has it under complete control, to give his partner the feeling of safety
would want them to cherish and have fun in every moment - whatever they like, he’s there to supply them with his music, since it’s the most heartfelt thing he can give them
the man hides his sorrow very well, and directs his focus towards his lover, and his lover only
also makes sure they’ve seen all, or most of what there in the world to see - he can’t imagine dying without having the sense of fulfillment
Apoo would prefer them to pass away in his arms, listening to his farewell song and staring off at the ocean’s horizon, because that’s what he’d like to see in his last moments
Capone Bege
“I’ll take care of our child, my dear.”
if his dearest wife ever died, the man would be devastated, going through all of the stages of sorrow, and then mourning
meaning, he’d eventually move on and try to raise their kid as well as he can, while conjuring up the memory of his wife as often as possible
when watching her slowly passing away, he makes sure they spend their moments together, as a family, and he tries to bury his anger and frustration deeply, so that she won’t have anything to be upset with
he’s a tender man, he wouldn’t hide his tears in front of his child, he wants them to see how important his wife was, and how cruel life can turn out to be sometimes
Urouge
“What am I supposed to do when you’re gone?”
he strongly believes in fate, but this would be the kind of situation when he desperately tries to avoid/change it, seeking out for a cure
upon failing, the man blames himself the most, not even bothering to hide his tears while spending the last moments holding his partner in his arms

617: "Caesar's Defeat! The Powerful Grizzly Magnum!"
Tumblr media
Basically Caesar: “REEEEEEEEEEEEE, SCIENCE!!!”
Only had time for one episode today but caught a snippet of the preview and it seems like posting for one episode here will fit in terms of the story arc.
Caesar is down and out, Law has done what he came to do, and Luffy has executed step one of his plan to kick ass and kidnap! Now all he needs is the fantastically badass Usopp to come through with the cuffs and step two will be on the cards!
It’s all a matter of escaping Punk Hazard with Caesar in tow, plus Law, the Strawhats, a bunch of kids and maybe some surviving Minions and the G5 and Smoker and Tashigi and Foxfire and Momonosuke and Brownbeard.
Yeah, I hope Franky has some extra bed rolls hidden away in storage because that is a lot of extra bodies on Sunny.
Sanji will be fine. He worked at Baratie. He’s used to mass catering.
Law Tries Out His Stand Up Material On Vergo
Tumblr media
In other news, Vergo is still alive. I kind of hoped Law might have taken him out but this is One Piece and you guys have always said that Oda sees a future for most of his characters. (Even Wapol. Yes, I am still salty about Wapol.) Smoker was on the ground, breathing hard. Getting fresh air for once, instead of dat tasty tobacco.
Vergo is also still shit-talking. “You broke the gear? There’s no turning back? That’s hysterical.”
Brave for a guy who was (at that point) in two pieces with a building crumbling rapidly around him. Not to mention the noxious clouds of gas.
Then he used his hands to spring from the ground and attack Law. He was Roomed and doomed in two seconds, chopped into fractions and hung on the railings. (Approaching Nightmare Fuel territory if you think too much about it.)
Vergo totally reminds me of the Black Knight from Monty Python’s Life of Brian. If you’ve never heard of it, he’s basically this dude who keeps getting up and shit-talking his opponents even after the removal of all his limbs. It’s funny. Vergo even made a joke about it. “How will I eat breakfast tomorrow?” Yeah, he almost went full Black Knight there.
Except for the little serious turn when he threatened Law with Doflamingo’s past.
“How dare you, Law? This is an upset. But I know you’re going to regret it. Keep that in mind. You don’t know Joker’s past and that will cost you your life. Upstarts like you can’t hope to take over the world. It’s filled with those who are much stronger. Tell him, Smoker!”
First of all, why was he appealing to Smoker to back him up like a kid in a playground? The brazen cheek of it. As if. I’m glad Smoker blanked him and sparked up a fat Cuban cigar.
Secondly, what is all this about Doflamingo’s past? Why would that matter to Law? I’m trying to think what could possibly affect Law as much as Vergo says and I’m drawing a blank. The only thing that might be a bit meh is if Doflamingo was once a Marine. We already had that twist with Vergo.
At any rate, Law had had enough with Vergo running his mouth, and chopped his head into two pieces.
“Don’t worry about me. Just worry about yourself. This room will explode soon. Goodbye, Vergo the pirate.”
I ain’t bothered about Vergo. That guy is too arrogant for his own good and Law gave him a well-deserved taste of defeat. I just hope Law took Smoker with him.(It’d be hilarious if Law carried Smoker over his shoulder and they ran into Zoro carrying Tashigi over his shoulder. xD)
Speaking of Well-Deserved Tastes of Defeat...
Tumblr media
This guy...
I love a charismatic, melodramatic, total piece of crap villain, but Oda did a great job of making me loathe Caesar here. I think Luffy lamping him square on the chops unhinged him a little. Law destroying the SAD factory and the labs as a result probably finished Caesar off. His arrogance and cruelty was off the charts! I thought Spandam was bad. Caesar makes Spanda look like a playground bully.
I loved how when he realised Law had unleashed merry hell, Caesar’s reaction was, “Damn! Who caused that? I bet it was Law. What is Vergo doing? You Strawhats RUINED MY PARADISE!”
His paradise. Wow, that sure does give you a little peek into this dude’s mind.
And it gets better.
Caesar had a last-ditch plan to defeat Luffy. He called his Minions in the Secret Room. “R-Building, can you hear me? Secret Room, come in! Open the air vents now! Let Shinokuni flow into this room.”
The Minions, understandably, were reticent to do this because they are the kind of people who, like the Strawhats, look after their own. They asked, “but wouldn’t it kill our guys?”
Caesar was like, “Well, I’m a gas man. I’m not gonna die. You’re just guinea pigs. No one would care if hundreds of you died. You are just the dregs of society! What are you doing? Hurry up. I can find replacements for you fools so easily.”
Uh oh.
The mask came off. Caesar must have been so riled that he didn’t care if everyone saw his true nature. The poor, deluded Minions still clung to their vision of Caesar as their benevolent Master, their saviour.
“Oh, the Master is trying to fool the enemies. He must have a plan to do with the gas. It would hurt him to know we suspected him.”
Hurt him? Mate, Caesar has no feelings to be hurt. He has an ego the size of Laboon. That’s not the same thing.
So, of course the Minions pulled the lever. Shinokuni flowed into the room. And I had a facepalm moment at those poor, brainwashed Minions.
Caesar Does A Moria
Tumblr media
“Yes! About time,” Caesar shouted. “Dregs shouldn’t think. Now, become my power, Shinokuni. Look, Strawhat! Look at his amazing appearance. This is my scientific power. Through this experiment, two countries have already expressed interest in the weapon. They are both quite peaceful but when humans get serious about defending themselves, they’ll look for any way possible to kill their enemies. Everybody needs me! I’ll spread weapons all over the world and become King of the Land of Death.”
There are a couple of things to unpack here.
First of all, Caesar is completely demented. I mean, that was always obvious. But that ambition of his is twisted and terrifying. Worse, that Doflamingo gave him the traction to actually make it happen.
Secondly, he’s insane but he’s not stupid. Caesar has an eye for business and is, weirdly, able to charm people into believing his bullshit. He also knows the darker side of human nature and how to exploit it, like he has done with those peaceful islands. He is also smug in the knowledge that big shots in governments everywhere will always want him in their corner, so there will always be a place for someone like him. That was a definite Art Mirroring Life moment right there. Harsh but true, I guess. The guy who first split the atom and invented the atomic bomb was a hot commodity, right?
Third, Caesar basically did a Gekko Moria. Caesar took it a step further because he actually gleefully killed all his Minions. Moria just took the shadows back from already dead bodies. This was the logical conclusion of Caesar seeing other people as objects or commodities to be manipulated, used or destroyed as he sees fit. The way he happily killed them all was just nasty.  “It’s amazing, if I do say so myself. Look at how fast it acts on their nerves. It’s almost an art!” And when they begged him to stop, “I am your saviour and I can make efficient use of you good-for-nothings. You are just crumbs. You should not stand against your Master. Die like dogs!”
Crumbs. Dogs. Guinea pigs. Caesar always uses dehumanising language on his poor Minions. And everyone else for that matter. He really is a psychotic, nasty piece of work. If this guy is working for Doflamingo, I cannot wait to see what a horrible bastard Doflamingo turns out to be. xD
Caesar’s Off The Deep End Behaviour and his treatment of his own people caused Luffy to have the veiniest, super frown I have seen on his face so far. Luffy does not like people who betray and used their own crew/soldiers/comrades.
Luffy said to Momo, “Look after Brownbeard.” Then ran in the opposite direction. Of course, I knew Luffy was just looking to gain some distance. Caesar, of course, mistook it for Luffy chickening out all of a sudden.
There was one person who knew with absolute certainty that this was not the case.
Usopp Was Awesome Here
Tumblr media
Can I just talk for a moment about how awesome Usopp was here?
All through this arc, he’s been ridiculously brave. He volunteered to split up with Brook and Foxfire so he could work on his own to find the Sea Prism Stone cuffs for Luffy. He was creeping round the labs on his own and when he found the Secret Room, he did not run upon being confronted with a full squad of Minions. He simply used his smarts to evade capture. Because he knew there was something in there of value and Luffy needed his help.
When the Minions saw Caesar’s true nature over the DDM feed and were finally like, “OMG this guy is awful.” Usopp just walked up to them and said, “I know you’re all broken hearted here but could I sit in that control seat for a second? I wanna save my friends from the gas.”
See that? Usopp’s loyalty to his friends trumps all sense of fear.
When the Minions tried to shake Usopp by saying, “Yeah, you’ll never escape because your Captain just cut and run. He left you guys behind.“ Usopp was Not Having One Bit Of It.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa... Are you dissing our captain right in front of me? If he were the kind of person who’d betray us, this whole thing would’ve been much easier for me. I would’ve just run away with my tail between my legs. But he never, ever stops believing in us. So we have no choice but to support him. We pledged to live up to his expectations as long as we can breathe!”
There you have it. Right from the horse’s mouth. Luffy’s faith in his crew inspires them to greater heights. And in Usopp, this is bravery. Absolutely beautiful.
And when the Minions said, “But what can we do? We can’t beat such a powerful man?” (Referring to Caesar) Usopp replied, “Yes, you can. You guys should just believe in our Captain. Caesar is the type of person that Luffy hates the most. Luffy won’t forgive Caesar.”
Usopp knows Luffy pretty well.
That Grizzly Magnum was really something else. I was expecting it to take out Caesar straight awayt but I liked that it didn’t. Caesar is the kind of villain who needs to have his pride thoroughly broken and to taste bitter, bitter defeat. If not, he’ll just tank the hit, pick himself up again and it’s back to his same old tricks.
The best portrayal of that was when Caesar was wrestling with Luffy, the Shinokuni slowly turning his hands to white powder, and he screamed, “Kneel before my power!”
Luffy will never kneel to anyone. Now, I’m not sure what those pulses of power were that drove Caesar back (Conqueror’s Haki?) but Luffy’s hit finally landed and, in a perfect moment of symbolism, Caesar’s self-made crown shattered.
He is no longer the tyrannical ruler of Punk Hazard. Caesar’s reign has come to an end.
And I can’t wait to see what happens next, because Doflamingo sent one of his lackeys to help him out.
The plot chickens.
Tumblr media
Well, you’re gonna kidnap him, so that might be a tough one to get round.

One Piece Chapter 920 Review
Tumblr media
Gather around, fans. It’s time for a story about the Wano Country; a country that was once beloved for all and currently beloved for scums. After the shocking revelation of Kin’emon and others, it’s most fitting to clear out some of the past history’s mysteries. While it won’t answer all, in fact leaving some questions behind, this chapter evaluated the value of recovering the country to its former glory with the rising hype for a potential warfare.
If you are fond of the series’ rich world-building, then this chapter is for you. Throughout, it’s about the origin of Oden, Kin’emon and others’ backstory before time-warping to the present, and connections with many present characters. Oden Castle was actually called Kuri Castle; already presenting Oden as a caring and lovable man. Putting his people first above all. Although he was beloved, he was considered as a wild card as he went through violent fights and essentially exiled from the Flower Capital.
The country wasn’t completely paradise as there was once a lawless area, which is self-explanatory with criminals and such. The real shocker about it is that place was Kuri; in other words, it was once an awful place. Even Shogun back then didn’t want to touch it. That’s where Oden reappeared and took on Ashura Douji. I’m very aware of the reference to Japanese culture. No, there won’t be any reincarnation…for now. Anyway, he was so evil and powerful, and yet Oden defeated him. That’s where the paradise feel was born.
I should mention that Oden was the son of Shogun Kouzuki Sukiyaki. While Shogun failed to act upon Kuri’s problems, Oden took on the challenge and won. For an exile, he sure was capable to be a Shogun. To top it all off, he forced the criminals to become workers and created a paradise for the citizens. Eventually, his father heard the story and bestowed him the title of Daimyo of Kuri at the age of 20. That’s pretty impressive. The one fond quote Kin’emon would always remember from him is “It’s too cramped here.” To me, that tells me Oden was indeed a nice fellow.
The story gets a short break with Zoro, who is of course lost. The funny thing about him is he believes his friends are the one that are lost. He believe it because he rode on that Komainu. Why Luffy and Zoro’s logic are going bonkers lately? Oh well, they do make me laugh. I don’t know what will happen to him, but I get the feeling he will drag trouble along with him. What else is new?
Duke Inuarashi makes his return. I do like him, so I was happy to see him again. I do wonder on who will break the news about Pedro’s demise. It’s going to suck when it happens. Outside of the prediction, it’s rather touching when he is at the beach, recollecting the good memories he has with his first meeting with Oden. It’s already said that he and Nekomamushi have fond connection with the Samurai, so this was heartwarming to know where it began.
I really like the silent storytelling treatment while pointing out Oden and his establishments. He was so beloved by many, including Whitebeard and Gol D. Roger. The part that makes it heartwarming is how there’s no speech bubbles coming from Kin’emon and others, but their reactions are delightful. You can see how great Oden was just by watching their expressions. It will make you laugh, it will have you in awed, and it will make you feel happy. Sadly, it will make you feel sad and frustrated.
It’s a smooth move of Oda to skip the story for us fans and let only Strawhats hear about the turning event. It keeps us engaged with the story, leaving us wondering why Oden had to die the way it did. It appears to me that Orochi was probably a friend of Oden, only to backstab him in the end. I can only guess based on Nami’s reaction. It’s a smart move in writing perspective to keep us interested in Orochi. After the early soothing atmosphere, it’s sad to see Kin’emon and others from the past to breakdown into tears. His saddening words about Oden’s final moment was emotional; words about 20 years ago, only it happened a few months ago for them felt heavy.
Kin’emon and others’ last action before time-warp is tragic and questionable. I feel bad for them for running towards to the castle, only to find it already in fire, thanks to Kaido. That’s one tie-in to hate Kaido. It’s rather sad that they had to “ignore” Inuarashi and Nekomamushi when they were caught by Orochi’s subordinates. I don’t blame them for their minds most likely were running wild with fear and sorrow.
Then we enter the questionable part of the story but in a good way. Lady Toki, the wife of Oden, was with Hiyori and Momo inside the burning castle. The story does confirm that she was the one with the ability to go to the future, but cannot go back to the past. The interesting part is she came from the distant past; at least according to the rumor. This has a good potential to expand the lore with some of her recollections that could associate with Gol D. Roger, D. Family, or even beyond. Don’t forget how Law is part of D. and that didn’t cross my mind at all, so you never know when we get a visual flashback.
It was at that point that Kin’emon made a final pledge with her that no matter how far into the future he and others will go, they will do whatever it takes to fulfill Oden’s wish. She gave them Momo to take care of and the time-warp took them 20 years later. What about Hiyori? Was she dead already? Can Toki foresee the future of when the time of Orochi and Kaido’s reign end? Was choosing 20 years a random time-warp destination or was it “destiny?” Shame that she couldn’t warp time with them, but perhaps she was hurt or can’t do it on herself anymore.
It’s rather frightening to instantly warp to the future and witness the same country under new lifestyle. It’s equivalent to a prisoner, who was imprisoned for 20 years, now able to roam back to the city, only life has advanced far ahead of him, and that can turn his head off. In here, they felt that they have no chance to fulfill Oden’s wish for everything seems paradise for the rotten and hell for the poor. Their mind changed when they met few people that had been waiting for their return.
Judging by that guy’s words, it appears that Toki may in fact can see the future or at least set the time destination. 20 years is pretty specific. That said does that mean it’s guaranteed that this present time is where the Wano Country will “reborn?” The only problem is at what cost. Hope was slowly rising back in their heart, but then they all split apart under unlucky circumstances.
Raizou was separated during the chase from the country. That’s when they were told to meet back at Zou. Then due to bad navigation and landed on Dressrosa, out of all places, Kanjuro was separated. Lastly, the rest landed on Punk Hazard and were taken by Caesar. The story of the rising sun began when Luffy meets Kin’emon. That’s one touching story. It’s amazing how it feels like one big saga, starring with Punk Hazard Arc. It’s like one massive build-up for this arc, including Whole Cake Island Arc, if we were to believe Big Mom and Kaido joined forces. What a journey.
Now we have the backstory out of the way, it’s time to increase the hype level for the next action phase. Kin’emon enters the war plan phase, which already has me pumping up. He names all the forces they currently have: Straw Hat Crew, The Musketeers and The Guardians of the Mink Tribe, Heart Pirates (Law), and the Rebels. The idea is to have 5000 strong to match up. Oh, that has “calling for Luffy’s fleet” written all over it. Damn, this is hype. Sure, starting a war is not an idea, but you damn sure know it’s going to happen. Okay, I am jumping ahead.
Tumblr media
Anyway, the idea now is to wait for two weeks. Their intention is to gather information and take the Commander’s head. Damn, that’s hardcore, but necessary. In two weeks, they will commence the raid on Onigashima, where Kaido resides. Holy crap, what!? Translation: our main hype begins in two weeks; the series’ timeline, not ours (sadly). Oda knows when and we can only starve until he feeds it to us. After the backstory and the gathering names of troops, I couldn’t be any more excited.
Tumblr media
Overall, this was a compelling and interesting chapter from top to bottom. I really enjoyed the backstory, even with some skipped moments, but it only got me more curious and interested. I’m glad Toki’s Devil Fruit ability can only make her travel to the future, which spares from fans from the headache, let alone Oda himself. The hype level continue to escalate higher with the two-week plan that will be massive. Once again, One Piece is taking a break. The future is killing me.
Oh, and the chapter’s cover is hilarious.

The kind of music that comes to mind for Law and us happens to be music I listen to a lot so I got a little carried away and ended up with a pretty full playlist! I tend to be super picky with my choices and so I’m surprised with how much I picked and how proud I am of it? I might add more in the future tbh;;
Since I’ve put way too much thought into this, I thought I’d write a post over-detailing each song and explaining every pick~! The order of songs roughly follows along how our relationship progresses.
Tumblr media
Human - Daughter
“Take me out of this place I'm in || Break me out of this shell-like case I'm in” “I think that I'm still human” “Underneath the skin there's a human || Buried deep within there's a human || And despite everything I'm still human || But I think I'm dying here”
We escape from our painful pasts, but what’s leftover is bad reputations and nightmares. Even if the world thinks we’re monsters, we’re still human. But sometimes it’s hard to ignore what they say...
(there’s a lot so more under the cut)
Your Bones - Of Monsters and Men
“Troubled spirits on my chest || Where they laid to rest. || The birds all left my tall friend || As your body hit the sand.” “Said goodbye to you my friend, || As the fire spread.” “So hold on, || Hold on to what we are, || Hold on to your heart.”
After loosing his family, friends, and entire town he grew up in, a child Law became twisted. He wanted to destroy the world that destroyed his, but Corazon still saw the hurting child in him. So he saved him and restored his heart, even at the cost of his own life...
Misguided Ghosts - Paramore
“See I'm trying to find my place || But it might not be here where I feel safe” “Would someone care to classify, || Our broken hearts and twisted minds || So I can find someone to rely on” “We are just || Misguided ghosts || Traveling endlessly || The ones we trusted the most || Pushed us far away”
I leave my prestigious Marine family after being shown how little of a ‘family’ they really are. I spend my years building up my reputation, wandering from ship to ship and keeping my identity secret. Never settling anywhere, I wonder if I’ll ever find a ‘family’ I can actually rely on...
Sleep Baby Sleep - Broods
“I could be the one to give you all I am || With a gentle touch and a foolish love || You could be the one to carry all my troubles away” “The morning's on its way || You know it's only just a dream || Oh sleep baby sleep” “The beauty of this mess is that it brings me close to you”
After the chaos of Punk Hazard and the quiet before Dressrosa, Law and I make a deal. We make detailed plans in his dreams as I offer my full cooperation. But what he doesn’t realize is that I’ve got this feeling that we’re similar deep down. That maybe there’s connection between us...
Peace of Mind - The Pale White
“Let's pretend and slip into disguise || I'm the prey and you're the crocodile” “Got your invitation, don't think I can make it || I'm too busy needing peace of mind, peace of mind” “I'm not well and I need peace of mind, peace of mind || It's alright with peace of mind, mind, mind”
With the Strawhats, samurai, Law, and my alliance, we sneak into Dressrosa. Even though we have several objectives, Law’s real goal is to take down Doflamingo. If he could fulfill what Corazon was trying to do all those years ago, maybe he’d be able to finally get some peace of mind...
Stitches - Switchfoot
“I'm not the only one not sleeping || I'm not the only one who's dreaming out loud || Dreaming out” “In stitches here tonight || We are ripping the seams || There's something missing || Children of the in-between”
The fate of everyone in Dressrosa hinges on if Luffy and Law can finally defeat Doflamingo and his family. As the stakes get higher, Law starts realizing that not only are the Strawhats laying their lives on the line, but I’m also fighting like I’m facing my own inner demons...
Nocturne - Blanco White
“If I was awake there's a world that I left || Never far behind from the time that I spent on the Arctic ice” “But in the night she's ashamed || Till her drop through a darkened sea below, beyond the world || How deep does the water go?”
In the aftermath, Law is left with the memories of that last cold night Corazon was alive. He’d been haunted by the darkness of his past his entire life, but for the first time, he’s finally gotten free of them. But he can still recognize that same darkness lingering in me...
The Only Thing Worth Fighting For - Lera Lynn
“Waking up is harder || Than it seems || Wandering through these empty rooms of || Dusty books and quiet dreams” “What I said was never || What I meant” “Weren't we like a pair of thieves || With tumbled locks and broken codes” “My small reprieves || Your heart of gold || Weren't we like a battlefield || Locked inside a holy war”
Dark feelings still cling to me, but as I reflect on the events of Dressrosa, warmth creeps in. It felt unstoppable, the two of us planning and fighting together. And I take comfort in understanding more about Law than I ever thought I would...
Ghosting - Mother Mother
“I've been ghosting || I've been ghosting alone || Ghost in the world || Ghost with no home” “Hey, would it be so bad if I stayed” “And this is why I have decided || To pull these old white sheets from my head || I'll leave them folded neat and tidy || So that you'll know I'm out of hiding”
After meeting the Heart Pirates on Zou, I take a chance. Slowly, I try to fight off my doubts and open up again as we start traveling together. Maybe here is where I can find that ‘family’ I’d been looking for...
Only In Dreams - Weezer
“You can't resist her || She's in your bones || She is your marrow” “Only in dreams || We see what it means || Reach out our hands || Hold onto hers || But when we wake || It's all been erased || And so it seems || Only in dreams”
I show up in Law’s dreams, but I’d already promised to not ‘haunt’ anyone on the crew. As much as he tries to resist, he knows he’s dreaming of me on his own...
Haunted - Radical Face
“You wear the night like it's your coat || And you're always laughing || But you always look afraid” “Hands against my eyes || I hear you crying in your sleep” “Yeah I think we're haunted”
As nights pass, Law and I share meals, thoughts, and memories. No matter what seems to be happening around us, we seem to catch each other’s eyes and already understand things without saying them. He really starts understanding me and understanding that behind my cheerful persona, there’s a lot of hurting...
R U Mine? - Arctic Monkeys
“Keep imagining meeting, wished away entire lifetimes || Unfair we're not somewhere misbehaving for days” “She's a silver lining lone ranger riding through an open space || In my mind when she's not right there beside me” “All I wanna hear her say is are you mine? || Well are you mine?”
Law invites me to join his crew, but he knows I’m a drifter. Everyone already seems to have accepted me as part of the Heart Pirates-everyone but me. And as his frustration about me not joining grows, all he really wants to ask is if I’m his...
Vertigo - Anya Marina
“The song you sing || Gives me vertigo” “Oh oh I was || Singing to myself || Whoa whoa || Pretending you were there” “This || Medicine's experimental || This || Medicine it's making me well”
Law is used to doctoring sicknesses and injuries of all sorts, but the sort of medicine I receive is slowly healing my heart. It’s becoming harder to handle my feelings from spilling out and I’m enjoying every second of it...
Feeling You - Harrison Storm
“I hope you come where I’m going || And babe my hands are free” “There was a time I remember || Breathing air like this || But that was when I was younger” “Every single way (I’m feeling you) || I won’t let you go”
After the events of Wano, Law and I’s deal we made before Dressrosa comes to a close. And now that we don’t have an excuse to keep traveling together, we finally have to admit that we don’t want to let go of each other...

Chapter 16 || Chapter 17: Can’ts || Chapter 18
Law wouldn’t say he was avoiding the other captain.
Or, should he say that he wasn’t avoiding him because of what had happened a few days ago. If he was avoiding Luffy, that wasn’t the cause – at least directly anyway. Law just – quite frankly? – didn’t know.
Sure, Luffy was an acquaintance – a friend even – and sure, sure, Luffy had been somewhat in his thoughts from time to time. Either as Mugiwara no Luffy or – more recently – Monkey D. Luffy, but…
Oh, are you talking about his collection of your wanted posters in the treasury?
It wasn’t like Luffy’s thoughts and feelings about him. No, nowhere close.
Luffy idolised him. Admired him. And, somewhere along the lines that very admiration had turned into something else.
Law only remembered the day he spent on the Sunny. Remembered the tour and the hasty briefing of the treasury. Remembered the way Luffy had been consistently staring at him. Remembered the way Luffy had sat too close. Remembered the insistence of being his ally. The clingingfingers…
It was so fucking obvious now - god damn it. But, of course, the idea of somebody crushing on him was the furthest thing from his mind.
You do know I am disappointed in you Law.
He was not planning on being here now. Not planning on any of this - which only brought him to his current dilemma:
What now?
Simply put, Law didn’t know what to do, how to react, what to say.
How to feel.
He was lost. So much had happened in the past week, and Luffy kissing him had not helped any. Live Sengoku had said. (So had Cora-san.) But - how? How could he live for himself?
He never had.
Ever.
You brought the hope back.
You gave us light in that dark place.
I’m happy I helped you.
Luffy had done for him just what he had done for the brothers. Luffy had freed him. Because, despite what he had told Ace, he was trapped. Trapped in a cycle of revenge. That - despite Cora-san’s interference - he had ended up on a path of vengeance. Just, instead of the world, he had set his sights on Doflamingo. And, by helping him obtain it - obtain revenge - by helping him live, Luffy had freed him.
The question however now was: did Law continue to allow it? Continue to allow Luffy to help him live his life? If so -- just how? How should he continue to let Luffy show him how to live?
As a friend -- or something more?
And still – still - Law just didn’t know.
He didn’t fucking know.
And so maybe - maybe yes - Law was avoiding the Strawhat, but simply because he didn’t know.
Not because Luffy kissed him.
(And, of course, Law knew the idiot would think the latter - he just knew it.)
.xxx.
His usual routes were out of the question. Well the ones where somebody had decided to flirt with him. Usually he just – well hurt them if they persisted. (Or, quite literally, steal their heart and then hide it on them.) And… well hurting his ally really wasn’t something he could – or should- do. (Especially without his own crew. On a boat that idolised Luffy.) And if he stole Luffy’s heart…
Good god he didn’t want to even think of the ramifications of that action…
(The alliance was bad enough – he realised now. A major mistake – well, when it came to his current predicament that is. A mistake, realising that Luffy had a crush on him and jumped at any and every opportunity to be with him. Even if it resulted in Doflamingo’s fall.)
Law had honestly contemplated just not talking about it. About simply not acknowledging that it had happened. But even if - if - he could have pretended that, pretended that Luffy had only imagined the scenario... well....
Simply put: it wasn’t a good idea.
One just did not assume Luffy would even come to that conclusion. No. He couldn’t place bets that Luffy would just think he thought up kissing him, or that it was a dream, or something. Hell, if he didn’t - well the idiot might think: ‘because Torao didn’t object, it must be okay to kiss him then!’ Or - heaven forbid - if he did happen to come to the desired conclusion, the thought might be ‘well, since I didn’t actually kiss Torao, I’ve got to now.’
...Either way, Law knew he would only end up being kissed again.
And this time - the bastard wouldn’t give him the blessing of passing out to give him time to react. No, he would have to react then and there and---
Yeah, that was something that Law was really trying to avoid.
And yet... yet he had to. Had to do something to stop him from stagnating and procrastinating.... Luffy was off over there - laughing and dancing and singing and....
And here he was - drinking in a corner because he just didn’t know how to fucking react over somebody kissing him.
Well – over Luffy kissing him.
--Part of him knew it was because he didn’t want to hurt Luffy’s feelings. He respected the other captain after all. And - well he wasn’t exactly repulsed by it, but, at the same time, he didn’t actually feel enthralled by it either.
He was just uncertain. Undecided. Unattached.
He couldn’t tell Luffy to wait. (The bastard had no patience.) He couldn’t say no honestly. (Not to mention Luffy’s feelings.) He couldn’t honestly say yes either. (He didn’t want to give Luffy false hope... Not to mention - well the idiot had no fucking control switch.)
And - of course - asking his crewmates was out of the fucking question. (Sure - they probably didn’t know about the kiss, but there was no waythey didn’t know about Luffy’s feelings towards him. Especially considering the idiot had babbled on about him for hours to a complete stranger.)
God damn Mugiwara no Luffy...
(Despite what Sengoku had said - right now he was regretting ever meeting him.)
Law decided that maybe, just maybe, he should go grab another drink...
And many more after that…
.xxx.
“Your bounty is the same as Luffy-senpai’s.”
--Oh. Oh fuck.
(No. No, it wasn’t the number that concerned him. It wasn’t that his warlord status had been revoked. No... It was the fact that his bounty was the same as Luffy’s. The fact that their bounties matched....)
He wasn’t going to hear the end of this.
“I actually almost threw it out - but Robin-senpai asked for it. If you ask her nicely I suppose you can see it.”
Law shrugged. “I could care-”
Luffy had cut him off. Cut him off with this fascination and awe and excitement in his voice.
“Can I see it Robin?!”
....Riiiiigggghhhttt....
He was going to walk away now. Yup. Pretend he never saw that gleam in Luffy’s eyes, or that hope. Pretend he didn’t see the way his whole body jumped with elation, and jittered with fervour. Pretend that this never happened. Just walk away and just go... watch the horizon or something.
Something that wasn’t watching Luffy fan boy over his wanted poster.
(...Besides, it wasn’t as if he was on some different route in the Grand Line. He was right here in the flesh. Just why did that bastard need to fawn over his poster when he could just fawn over the actual ‘Torao’? Actually… maybe it wasn’t such a bad idea after all. Yes, go fawn over his poster Luffy. Leave him in peace for once.)
And so, he settled himself on the upper level of the Going Luffy and just looked behind them. Look towards Dressrosa. Towards the place he had decided to be his grave. Towards the place that he buried his grudge against Doflamingo. The place that he truly buried his past – Cora-san. The place where he finally moved on, where his life truly began. Where…
“Torao!!”
...It had been so quiet. So blissfully quiet... where he could think and just... try and figure things out. But. No.
Nooo.
Fuck.
Fuck, fuck, fuck.
Apparently ignoring Luffy while the were on the same boat was also on the ‘could-not-do-to-cope-with-Luffy-kissing-him’ list.
(And, something told him that Robin wasn’t about to lend him a book to hide behind...)
Just.
Fuck.
Luffy’s eyes were sparkling.
“Our bounties match!”
His voice singing.
“Isn’t that awesome?”
His feet bouncing.
Just what the fuck was he supposed to say here? The agreeing Sure? Or perhaps the nonchalant Whatever? What about the rude So?
“And your wanted poster Torao! Look at it!
Oh. Oh just great. Of course that fucker was just carrying around his fucking face and fawning over it and---
Yup.
Yup that was his wanted poster.
Shoved right in his fucking face, so he couldn’t even see anything clearly.
“Doesn’t it look awesome? Look! Look you’re smirking! You look cool when you smirk Torao! Ya know – at first I thought they took a picture of you at Dress—rosa but then I saw your bear in the background. So – it’s an older picture. I wish they took a new picture though.”
Luffy paused, and Law wished he hadn’t looked at the idiot because he was pouting.
“I mean – your outfit was so cool and awesome and it showed all your tattoos off and…”
Law chose to just stop listening now. Yup. He didn’t want to hear this. Didn’t want to hear Luffy fawn over his wanted pictures. Fawn over himfor fuck’s sake! He was trying to avoid any of this. Avoid the idolisation. Avoid reacting. Avoid the fawning. Avoid…
…mother fucking Mugiwara no Luffy.
“Torao…?”
--Ah. Shit, Luffy noticed.
“Are you okay Torao? Is your arm bothering you? You’re squeezing it.”
…Squeezing? Ah – damn it. Fucking subconscious habits… There he went, squeezing at it out of frustration and that wasn’t the best of ideas and –
Oh right. He had to answer Luffy, didn’t he?
And he wasn’t about to go admitting…
“…Yeah, sure. Sure, that’s it, Luffy-ya…”
…He shouldn’t have said that. He really shouldn’t have.
“Damn… I really wish Chopper was here right now. He could look at it and-“
Law inhaled deeply, closed his eyes, and then exhaled slowly.
“You do realise I am a doctor as well, right Luffy-ya? I was the one that patched Ace’s and your own asses up two years ago after all.”
“But you’re in pain Torao!”
Law moved his hand to rub at the bridge of his nose.
“No pain, no gain Luffy-ya…”
Pouting. More of that fucking pouting. Didn’t Luffy know any other damn expression?
“Look – look on the bright side Luffy-ya. At least I didn’t die. A bit of arm pain is noth-”
“NO!”
…What?
“Torao can’t die! I won’t allow it!”
Another sigh left him. Another sigh and he moved his hand to just cover his face, shaking his head.
“…Torao, what’s wrong?”
There were hands now on his shoulders, and Law knew if he opened his eyes he would see Luffy standing in front of him, worry plastered all over his features. His wanted poster, too, was fluttering against his chest.
“Does your head hurt too? Did you drink too much last night? Do you need anything? What-”
Too much. This was just getting to be too much.
He wasn’t ready to deal with this right now damn it!
And he brought up his arms, pushing Luffy’s away from him in a single motion, hands fisting down at his sides at the end.
“Just—just shut up Luffy-ya!”
“Torao…”
Law brought his legs up and held his head.
“Just – leave me alone.”
And – as those footsteps echoed away from him, Law only realised just what he had done.
He just fucked up. Fucked up big time.
Fuck.
