I have completed a character reference now WITH pronouns! I’ve noticed many readers have been mistaking my characters genders (especially Kaia) so hopefully this will fix that!

snake in the garden — stefan salvatore x reader
Tumblr media
☄. *. ⋆
content warnings and genre: unrequited love — hurt/no comfort, angst
˚ ༘♡ ⋆。˚
synopsis: what's a garden without a snake?
✧.*
the moon hung low in the velvety night sky, casting a gentle silver glow through the parted curtains of the bedroom. the room was bathed in a serene luminescence, highlighting the contours of two figures nestled beneath the covers. stefan salvatore lay in peaceful repose, his raven hair fanned out on the pillow as he cradled you in his arms. the rise and fall of his chest matched the rhythm of his soft, steady breaths.
the air was laced with tranquility, the warmth of shared moments and whispered promises woven into the very fabric of the space. your fingers traced invisible patterns against stefan's chest, the sensation of his skin under your touch a reassurance that this was real. his fingers, long and graceful, were entwined with yours, his thumb rhythmically brushing over the back of your hand.
as stefan's eyelids drooped, heavy with the weight of slumber, he tightened his hold on you, his lips brushing against your forehead in a final, affectionate gesture before he surrendered to the embrace of dreams. his voice, a mere murmur, filled the room with declarations of love, like soft petals falling from a blossoming flower.
"i love you," he whispered, the words a gentle lullaby that wrapped around your heart. "every moment with you is a treasure i cherish."
the metaphor of your relationship as a garden had always been something you held dear. it was a haven you both tended to, a tapestry of emotions interwoven with care and devotion. the thought of each milestone, each memory, as a vibrant bloom brought a smile to your lips even as sleep began to claim you.
but dreams had a way of shifting. they led you down the meandering paths of your subconscious, guiding you to places you hadn't ventured before. and in the quietude of the night, as the moon continued its stately journey across the heavens, a niggling curiosity stirred within you.
the next morning, as sunlight spilled into the room, you stirred awake, your fingers instinctively reaching for stefan's warmth. but the place beside you was empty, the sheets cool to the touch. confusion prickled at the edges of your consciousness. stefan was usually there when you woke, his arms a sanctuary you could always count on.
a quiet unease settled in as you scanned the room, the remnants of your dream still clinging to your thoughts. you spotted the leather-bound book you had been reading before sleep claimed you. it lay on the bedside table, its pages slightly ajar, a bookmark peeking out.
as you reached for the book, your heart skipped a beat. nestled between the pages was a photograph. it was faded with time, but there was no mistaking the woman in the picture—katherine pierce. your stomach churned with a mixture of emotions: surprise, hurt, and a twinge of jealousy.
the garden you had nurtured seemed to shift, the petals of doubt starting to unfurl amidst the blossoms of love. the presence of katherine's photograph was a stark reminder of stefan's past, a past that intertwined with yours but remained separate all the same.
gripping the photograph between your fingers, you slipped out of bed and padded barefoot across the room. the image of katherine's enigmatic smile stared back at you, her eyes seeming to hold secrets you could only guess at. any man in his right mind would give up everything for a girl like her. those who weren't able to, relied on photographs.
with a determined breath, you left the room, feeling the cool wooden floor against your feet as you descended the staircase. the photograph was now your guide, a beacon that drew you outside, into the embrace of the morning sun. the garden, once a symbol of your unblemished love, seemed to have taken on a different hue. the flowers, vibrant and beautiful, now harbored thorns you hadn't noticed before.
in your hands, the photograph felt both weighty and fragile, a tangible connection to a history you hadn't been a part of. qs you walked, the grass whispered beneath your feet, a soothing symphony that mingled with the sound of your thoughts. your steps carried you deeper into the garden, winding through the blooms that had once seemed so perfect.
finally, you found yourself beneath the shade of an old oak tree. the photograph of katherine seemed to burn in your grip, a testament to a love that had existed long before yours. you traced the lines of her face, her eyes, her lips, wondering what she had meant to stefan, what memories they had shared.
your relationship, once depicted as a garden bursting with every color and variety of flower, now felt like a puzzle missing crucial pieces. the metaphor seemed incomplete, tainted by the photograph and the questions it raised. a garden was indeed beautiful, but even the most enchanting gardens had their share of hidden shadows and lurking serpents.

Hollywood screen test of a scene from The Rainmaker – there are only stills that are known to exist.
Screenwriter Allen Wiess, who wrote 6 Presley Pictures described his acting as High School.
Hal Wallis agreed and decided to build the movies around Elvis.
Katherine Hepburn, star of The Rainmaker, could hardly have a younger brother with a different regional accent.
Elvis worked with veteran actor Frank Faylen in the first test scene and with twenty-one-year-old actress Cynthia Baxter (later Cynthia O’Neal) in the second scene.
In May, Elvis told Will Jones of the Minneapolis Tribune that he favored the second of the two scenes. “I took this screen test where I came in and was real happy and jolly and I didn’t like it. I did this other one where I was mad at this girl, and I liked that better—it was me.”
screenwriter Allan Weis came to the following conclusion:
“In viewing the test, one thing was clear. It would be a mistake to try to force this strong personality into a preconceived role. His parts must be tailored for him, designed to exploit the thing he did best—sing.”
Hal Wallis agreed, and between 1957-1967, he produced nine Presley musicals – Weis writing 6 of them

hhhhhello hey hi !!!! I'm the podficcer that asked permission to podfic your ghost series and -- I had a strange question for the sangcheng one!!???? I keep thinking about nhs alive in 1920s NY speaking in some 1920s slang and I can't help but uhhhh picture him talking in a 1920s NY accent but is he FROM ny?!!!! 😂 a NY accent keeps popping up every time I read his lines out loud, and I'm not sure if that's weird, so I wanted to ask for some feedback!!!!
for jiangzaix3 I am finished recording the first two chapters and 2/3rds finished with the last chapter. I just have to edit in music! the accompanying Playlist is amazing! I also wanted to ask if you had any other additional songs or Playlist for the other three fics or if I should just pull from the one? I have an idea for which songs go with which stories -- jiangzai x3 has at least 3 songs lol bc there are too many good ones!
thanks again for granting permission! i am attempting to get these done, for spooky season is upon us, but I will try my best!
Hello, my dear! 💜💜💜 I'm so excited to hear your podfics--prior to getting into MDZS, the only person I'd ever heard read my own work was me, so between you and the person recording "this humble fox" I'm practically basking in the exciting novelty of it.
Anyway, that's not a strange question at all, it's a very good one! No, despite his tendency to hang out in fashionable areas of New York City when he was alive, Huaisang is not from New York, he's actually from New Hampshire. The Nies emigrated to the USA significantly before any of the other cultivation clans and initially settled down in the White Mountains, where they made quite a lot of money as trappers. They eventually opened up the butcher shop rather further south in the actual populated areas, and Huaisang attended a private school, so I think the most appropriate accent for him would be what's called a Mid-Atlantic. If you're unfamiliar, look up clips from Bringing Up Baby on YouTube--Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn are the shining examples of the early 20th century Mid-Atlantic accent, which was a very mannered, deliberate way of speaking. (The house Mingjue had built for him, the one into which Jiang Cheng eventually moves, is in Georgia, because Huaisang hates to be cold and loves to garden and placing him in Georgia meant the Jiangs could maybe keep an eye on him.)
The Yus, meanwhile, settled right outside Boston, in Newton, and Yu Ziyuan did her level best to instill her children with the value of speaking "properly," so Jiang Cheng speaks with...about half of a modern upper-class Boston accent, which shades into a more classic Southern when he relaxes, since he did grow up in Georgia. (The Southern accent gets noticeably more prominent when he's talking to/arguing with Wei Wuxian, who was born in Kentucky and spent the first seven or so years of his life learning to speak from Cangse Sanren and Wei Changze--Cangse had a thick accent, it was one of the things Yu Ziyuan disliked about her and her son after her.
As for music, the other three fics don't have specific playlists--"Jiangzai x3" was fully written in a sort of mad hallucinatory dash, and the playlist sprang up as part of that--but I do have general WangXian and XiYao playlists, if you'd like to look through those for inspiration, and of course all of the chapter titles for "Gimme Shelter" are themselves song titles. Unfortunately, I have sorely neglected Jiang Cheng and Nie Huaisang as far as playlists go, and I do need to remedy that. In the meantime, if it helps at all, Huaisang listened to a lot of jazz when he was alive--think Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, any luminary of the Harlem Renaissance who was recording before 1927--and loved to go out dancing. I'm honestly not sure what sort of music Jiang Cheng listens to, or if he habitually listens to much at all.

2022 reading wrap up
combined a bunch of reading wrap ups to make my own again!
overview/reading goals:
i read 170/120 books this year, including 109/100 full-length books (as opposed to graphic novels, poetry, etc.)
i read 11/12 random books selected from my tbr each month (thought i’d read the last one during the holidays but, uh,)
i read 11/12 books i owned but hadn’t yet read (ditto), although 4 of them were books i bought during the year and then read shortly thereafter. oops!
77.1% of the books i read were borrowed from my library! i always encourage everybody to use their public library if possible 🤗
most read genre: fantasy (34.7%). interestingly sci fi (11.2%) lost its evergreen second place slot to contemporaries (13.5%) this year!
average rating: 3.6/5 stars (right on par)
best books:
she who became the sun by shelley parker-chan
piranesi by susanna clarke
nona the ninth by tamsyn muir (i also reread gideon and harrow)
acts of service by lillian fishman
at night all blood is black by david diop
worst books:
the seep by chana porter
the death of jane lawrence by caitlin starling
tampa by alissa nutting
wider than the sky by katherine field rothschild
the midnight bargain by c.l. polk
weirdest book: jane, unlimited by kristin cashore (read this!!)
lived up to the hype: babel by r.f. kuang (i don’t think her books are perfect, but she Gets It in a way that so few authors do)
greatest surprise: the innocents by michael crummey (i rarely read historical fiction but this one really hit the spot)
greatest disappointment: time is a mother by ocean vuong (the more i read ocean vuong the less i think he’s for me tbh)
best 2022 release: i already mentioned nona, babel, and acts of service, so i’ll go with beast at every threshold by natalie wee (absolutely stunning poetry collection)
favourite new to me author: i already mentioned shelley parker-chan and natalie wee, so i’ll go with emily henry (i’m not a romance reader but i really liked both book lovers and beach read this year)
most likely to be reread: definitely nona, but the traitor baru cormorant by seth dickenson is probably high on the list (i think i could get a lot out of a second reread, plus i’ve honestly been putting the second book off and could use a refresher)
made me cry the most: heartstopper by alice oseman (but in a good way! nona also made me cry a lot in a painful way)
books purchased: my roommate looks at my tumblr sometimes and if she sees a final count of how many books i bought this year she will shoot me on the spot
reading goals for next year: 120 books, including 100 full-length; one random book from the tbr per month; and one sequel to a series i’ve started but not finished per month
top of the tbr: these are all books i currently have out from the library
dragons of autumn twilight by margaret weis and tracy hickman
tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow by gabrielle zevin
a magic steeped in poison by judy i. lin

I’ve had a pretty fun summer of reading so far! I haven’t had as many chances to just zone out with a book as I’d like, but what I have had has been exactly the sort of healing I’ve been needing.
Tumblr media
Animorphs: The Message
I know this series has come up on a previous book roundups, but I continue to (very slowly) work through Animorphs. It’s one series that I had never gotten to as a kid — I saw it all over the place, but I found the covers rather unnerving so I never gravitated to it. And after a certain point I simply felt too old. I’m glad I’m finally reading it because Katherine Applegate continues to be an undeniable genius and this series is already knocking my socks off, and I’m only four books in. What’s not to enjoy about genocidal aliens and crushing levels of stress and trauma placed on the backs for five kids who are being ruthlessly hunted but have to try to maintain a sense of normalcy while they attempt to save all of Earth from devastation? And for once, it’s a kid series that actually ADDRESSES how deeply fucked up that all is instead of skating past it. Big fan. And I’ve finally met Ax! I cannot wait for the next book! Heck, I can’t wait til I finally get a book in his POV!
Tumblr media
Demon Slayer v3 - 4
I finally know who the is boar-headed guy is! The kids recommending this series to me were all very excited for me to finally meet him and now I have! What an absolute idiot, he’s a delight! Demon Slayer is definitely a bit of a Classic Shounen but it does it so well I can’t even be upset. The main character is such a genuinely enjoyable character, and so far the side characters all have big, amusing personalities, so it’s very appealing, especially when it’s wrapped in such lovely, nostalgic art. (It really does make me think of more old school Inuyasha art rather than what I consider more contemporary manga art... does that make sense? Is anyone else on the same page as me?) Oh, and I would die for his sister. Sibling relationships instead of romantic relationships? Yes PLEASE, not enough series focus on strong sibling bonds.

Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation v1
Wow. This is easily my big gold star book of the month, hands down the best thing I’ve read in a while. I couldn’t put it down! I can see why people have been freaking out about this series and its various adaptations now; I had to go out and buy the next book IMMEDIATELY when I realized I was only fifty pages from the end. I was expecting a much more serious historical style novel, you know the sort with lots of political intrigue and a bit of magic thrown in on the side. I was not expecting something so funny and playful and it’s really stolen my whole heart. Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji are such a pair of idiots and I can’t wait to see where things go in book 2.
Tumblr media
Haikyu v39 - 41
SO CLOSE TO THE END OF THE SERIES, I CAN’T WAIT! I’m always impressed by how this author manages to keep up tension and engagement through every match, especially one as long as this most recent one, but the four different views on what it means to be a short volleyball player is fantastic, and then Hinata FINALLY running out of stamina and collapsing??? I’ve been waiting for that trope to appear since like book 2 so I nearly SCREAMED when it finally hit! Ah!
Tumblr media
The Iron Giant // The Iron Man
This book was originally published as The Iron Man but because of the movie adaptation calling itself The Iron Giant (I believe to avoid confusion with the Marvel character?) that’s what it tends to be published under know. It’s very different than the movie, but both were really good. This book was a bit less emotional than the movie, but it has a very pure, classic, 1950s fun whimsical kid’s novel vibe to it that makes you just feel really cosy and nostalgic. A strange, scary, possibly dangerous robotic man appears from the ocean! What’s it going to do? What can people do to stop it? What will happen when people suddenly need it to save them?
And this specific edition had the COOLEST art and page design, if you go to read it I really recommend getting your hands on a physical copy of this one because it’s SO much fun to read.
Tumblr media
The Iron Woman
The sequel to The Iron Giant that I didn’t know existed. I was trepidatious at first because these sorts of sequels are usually not… great. But straight up? I think I liked this one even more than the first. It deals with environmentalism and capitalism’s effect on the natural environment in shockingly harsh ways. Damn, it had more worthwhile things to say, and pulled less punches, than a lot of modern media when talking about environmental devastation, the massive and all consuming consequences on ecological collapse, and what amounts to the morality of environmental terrorism. The character of the Iron Woman emerges from the depths to share the agonized screams of every animal that’s being impacted by water being made uninhabitable. I highly recommend this book, it was BEAUTIFUL and I would kill for a Ghibli-style adaptation of it.
Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation wins for my favourite book of the month, but only because I’m queer and simple in my pleasures. This book probably deserves it more though -- while the ending was a bit weak, the rest of the book was masterfully and chillingly written in a way that is approachable to children and powerful for adults.
Tumblr media
Lore Olympus v1
I’m always here for a Persephone/Hades retelling, and I’d heard a lot of good things about it, so I was excited to give it a read. I have to admit, the beginning was… rocky. The characterization was rather weak and felt like it was mostly built on cliches and half-assed jokes, but by about the halfway mark it felt like it started to come into its own. And that’s not surprising for stories published online, they tend to improve as the creator gets a better sense for their story and characters and craft. I was enjoying it quite a bit by the end and am looking forward to getting my hands on book two.
Tumblr media
Minecraft: The Mountain
I was as shocked as anyone that I enjoyed the first book of this Minecraft isekai novel, but what can I say: Max Brooks can write a pretty damn convincing survival novel. The Mountain starts after The Hero has left their island and has  begun their exploration of the bigger world looking for answers and, hopefully, a way home. While the first book is largely built around the character developing understanding and rules for survival and perseverance, this book is about them finally meeting another human and developing a set of rules for how to be able to work and live with someone who may have different priorities and values than they do. They also introduce the nether and a host of updates to the world that keeps The Hero wrongfooted and learning.
I didn’t love this one as much as the first, but it was enjoyable enough. One of the big downsides for me was confirming that The Hero is male. I really admired how the first book left The Hero gender neutral and allowed the reader to imagine themselves or their own characters onto the protagonist. Book two took that away and it was jarring. Still, I’m at least intrigued by the prospect of a third book in the series.
Tumblr media
Sasaki and Miyano v1
This was a benignly cute little manga that I bought on a whim because of a recommendation. Honestly, I read it at the beginning of the month and it didn’t stand out in a huge way… there’s not much I have to say about it beyond I enjoyed reading it and will probably read it again at some point now that I own it, but it didn’t really make any waves. I won’t be seeking out book two; it didn’t really do anything that felt memorable or different, but if you want just a cute little, slightly clueless, romance, then it’s worth picking up.
Tumblr media
The Spiderwick Chronicles: The Wrath of Mulgarath
I recently reread the Spiderwick Chronicles and just finished book five. It’s about a family who moves into their great aunt’s old house to care for it now that she can’t. Jared and his siblings gradually start learning the secrets of the old house and what their great-great-uncle Arthur Spiderwick had discovered about the creatures that share their world. It’s such a wonderful take on fairy mythology, with lots of excitement, and the art is beyond stunning. It is consistently well written, with a tight story, and spot on characterization the whole way through. It’s a huge recommendation for kids and adults alike; now that it’s been printed as an omnibus it’s really easy for an adult to pick up and read as one big novel rather than five separate novellas/chapter books. I’m going to have to read the second arc... it hadn’t been out when I originally read this series as a kid but I really love the world Black and DiTerlizzi created here. The fairies are beatiful, but not the standard bland design, they all feel like they could be real, dangerous, slightly alien creatures.
Tumblr media
On Stranger Tides
A supernatural pirate story that I was actually really enjoying. Let’s be honest, Our Flag Means Death just got me hungry for more interesting pirate media and I saw that this was considered a pretty highly recommended classic. Very well earned — a bit racist, a bit misogynistic but over all a really fun adventure! I didn’t actually finish it, sadly… I kind of petered off. I’m not sure why it couldn’t hold my attention, perhaps I was just feeling too busy and stressed? Or maybe I was just feeling grumpy about it being too hetero after experiencing OFMD hahaha. I’m considering myself “done” with it for now, which is why it’s here, but I may pick it back up again at some point… Genuinely worth the read if you’re also looking for an interesting pirate adventure.
Tumblr media
Witch Hat Atelier v3
I really love the magic system this series introduces, and the art is absolutely beautiful. It really feels different from what any other manga I’ve seen lately is doing. It sort of reminds me of +Anima in ways I really couldn’t describe... The story isn’t really keeping me that interested, sadly, I’m kind of neutral to it, but it’s pretty enough that it keeps drawing me into the next book every so often. I’ll probably grab book four from the library at some point.

How many books did you read this year? not sure, I didn't keep track until like october unfortunately. But 70+
Did you reread anything? What? I reread Lirael/Sabriel/Abhorsen by Garth Nix which I've read like 4 or 5 times. my favorite YA fantasy of all time
What were your top five books of the year? Top 17 in no particular order:
The Book of Form and Emptiness by Ruth Ozeki Care Work by Leah Lakshmi Piepnzna-Samarasinha The Dawn of Everything by David Graeber and David Wengrow Paul Takes the Form of a Mortal Girl by Andrea Lawlor Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner Briefly, a Delicious Life by Nell Stevens The Electricity of Every Living Thing by Katherine May The Membranes by Chi Ta-wei All This Could Be Different by Sarah Thankam Matthews Sterling Karat Gold by Isabel Waidner Old Enough by Haley Jakobson Chlorine by Jade Song The Centre by Ayesha Manazir Siddiqi The World Cannot Give by Tara Isabella Burton Our Share of Night by Mariana Enriquez Extremely Online by Taylor Lorenz Love by Toni Morrison
Did you discover any new authors that you love this year? Yes I read two books by Ruth Ozeki and loved both. I also got more into David Graeber, I read Debt and Bullshit Jobs at the end of last year and really enjoyed The Dawn of Everything this year.
What genre did you read the most of? Hard to say since again I didn't keep track of everything and I haven't used goodreads in a couple years lol bc its owned by amazon but I would say leftist/leftist leaning nonfiction, contemporary fiction written by women and queer people, and fantasy/magical realism.
Was there anything you meant to read, but never got to? So much lol. But the oldest books on my tbr are No Touching by Ketty Rouf, Nature is a Human Right by Ellen Miles, Overtime by Will Stronge and Kyle Lewis, Ecrits by Jacques Lacan, and New Animal by Ella Baxter
Did you meet any of your reading goals? Which ones? Did not have any but I read way more than I have since I was in high school so I'm so happy about that!
Did you get into any new genres? I hadn't read a lot of magical realism (non heavy fantasy) that I'd really enjoyed before.
What was your favorite new release of the year? The World Cannot Give by Tara Isabella Burton, Our Share of Night by Mariana Enriquez, or All This Could Be Different by Sarah Thankam Matthews
What was your favorite book that has been out for a while, but you just now read? Geek Love by Katherine Dunn I think was the oldest book I read this year that I really liked. Or People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn is also a strong contender. Or Illness as Metaphor and AIDS and Its Metaphors by Susan Sontag. Or Love by Toni Morrison.
Any books that disappointed you? While I really enjoyed Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin and I would recommend it, I do think it has been somewhat overhyped and failed to live up to my expectations in some respects. I also did not enjoy Venco by Cherie Dimaline as much as I wanted to, given the premise is like a perfect intersection of things I enjoy in books. Try Her Majesty's Royal Coven by Juno Dawson instead, or the Left-Handed Booksellers of London by Garth Nix for similar vibes but way more enjoyable.
What were your least favorite books of the year? I usually DNF books I don't like so hard to say for sure. Milk Fed by Melissa Broder was really not my vibe. I wasn't really surprised because I couldn't stand her previous book about the mermaid(?) but I did like her So Sad Today stuff. I also liked Norwegian Wood exactly as much as I was expecting to, which was, not very much. I've also decided I don't really enjoy reading short story collections.
What books do you want to finish before the year is over? I am currently reading My Tiny Life by Julian Dibbel and Fossil Capital by Andreas Malm, both of which are very dense and I have kind of been sloughing through. Both are super interesting though so hopefully I finish them by the end of the month instead of just reading fiction which I read way faster.
Did you read any books that were nominated for or won awards this year (Booker, Women’s Prize, National Book Award, Pulitzer, Hugo, etc.)? What did you think of them? I just looked at the lists for all the awards listed here and literally the only book I read was Legends and Lattes by Travis Baldor which was nominated for best novel at this years Hugo awards LOL. I added some other ones to my tbr though. I thought it was fun but nothing incredible! I'll read the sequels (my standard of quality for fantasy is a lot lower than other genres lol)
What is the most over-hyped book you read this year? Def Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin even though it WAS really good!
Did any books surprise you with how good they were? Yes I was not expecting to enjoy Pageboy by Elliot Page as much as I did! Really well done celebrity memoir. Also I was worried that Extremely Online by Taylor Lorenz would just be about stuff I already knew but it was actually super interesting and went down a bunch of rabbit holes I didn't know a ton about and had great analysis.
How many books did you buy? Way too many. But mostly very cheap on Thriftbooks!
Did you use your library? Oh boy, you wouldn't even believe.
What was your most anticipated release? Did it meet your expectations? I was very excited for README.txt by Chelsea Manning and it did not disappoint (yes it came out in 2022 but I took a second to get to it okay). I also had The Free People's Village by Sim Kern on hold way before it came out and I really enjoyed it!
Did you participate in or watch any booklr, booktube, or book twitter drama? no lmao. i watched a couple youtube videos about tiktok book drama and it was the stupidest shit ive ever seen
What’s the longest book you read? Probably Our Share of Night by Mariana Enriquez. I did listen to it on audio which is the only way I am really able to get through books that long. The longest book I read with my eyes was probably The Book of Form and Emptiness by Ruth Ozeki.
What’s the fastest time it took you to read a book? This is a silly question bc I read some pretty short books. Several books under two hundred pages only took me a few hours.
Did you DNF anything? Why? so much stuff i can't even explain
What reading goals do you have for next year? Keep reading at the pace I am now! and hopefully keep track of the books this time, but not feel pressured to share about books im reading if I don't want to
