1800s verse (𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐈𝐧 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤) ft. Isabel Hart & @noxflores ‘s Jennet.
Isabel Hart and her deaf younger sister were left to survive on their own when their parents died in a tragic accident. This does not faze Isabel one bit though, she becomes even more determined to take care of her sister and ensures she has a good life... she finds work at a factory that pays good, despite the horrible conditions that she was forced to work in.
Several months later, an old friend from her childhood, Jen/net Hum/frye makes contact with her through a letter and reveals the horrible situation she had been placed in, being pregnant and shunned by her family, Isabel offers her to stay at her place. She also gets a word in at the factory for Jennet to get a job. They become closer over time and Isabel discovers that she enjoys helping take care of Jennet, insisting that her friend stay with her for however long she wants.
At the age of thirty, Isabel dies saving a child’s life. But fate had other plans for her... it deemed her worthy to be a protector of humanity and so with that, she suddenly comes back to life as an immortal. Confused and rattled, Isabel tries to cope with it-- telling herself that she just got very lucky. That she didn’t really die.
However, her immorality is revealed to her the next time she dies by protecting someone again, then comes back to life and with time, she eventually accepts this fate. Only because it meant she could make sure Jennet and her child, along with her younger sister would be protected. To live the life they deserved.
