Sometimes I believe there is a sector in the fandom that truly just don´t get Anakin but also Anakin fans, they don´t think about the fact that there are fans of Anakin who liked him as Darth Vader and is mind blowing to them why we do if it doesn´t have anything to do with the fact Vader is a very cool villain, which he is or because Anakin used to be hot, which he was.
So let me share with you, the first time I saw the old trilogy , I realized some things about Vader:
1.- He was a slave
2.- He is on life support and constant pain, almost dead inside his armor.
3.- Vader is actually serious about wanting to put Order in the galaxy. How he goes about it is what makes him the villain of the story.
4.- He called the Death Star a tecnological abomination, which I believe is the best description I have ever heard about it.
5.- He was the bad guy the heros had to fight.
6.- He is a bad guy who believes the rebellion has a point but that destructive conflict won´t solve anything. He may be speaking from experience.
7.- He´s actually loyal to the Empire, he believes in it as an institution and he is loyal to the Emperor when he isn´t trying to convince him he needs to kill his Son.
8.- He needs help.
9.- Bad guys are not helped, they are killed at the end of the story
10.- Vader is Luke´s father but his teachers are trying to convince him that he isn´t his father and that he needs to kill him.
11.- Luke loves his father but hates Vader, it´s a real problem for him that they are the same person.
12.- Vader loves Luke but is also crazy as hell from the darkside. So even if he wants his Son at his side, he´s not going to be good company for Luke as much as he wants to be.
So as a fan I decided to love him to make up for his rotten role in the story.
Imagine my surprise when I saw Luke going outside his typical hero journey role and decided to save him, because he was his father. Then as his father, Vader decides to save Luke because he is his Son and he loves him and he doesn´t care if he has to die in order to save Luke from his beloved Empire and Master.
Familiar love saved the universe in this franchise and that´s why ROTJ is my favorite Star Wars movie ever, it lives rent free on my mind.
The fact there are fans who believe familiar love in star wars is an attachment or something that leads to the darkside is mind blowing to me.
In this house we respect Star Wars as the story about how the love in the Skywalker family saved the universe.

14 January 2024
Marie was hosting an extended family get-together. It was supposed to be kind of like the Christmas celebrations we had, but a little smaller and hosted at our house. Marie and Daniel came home after church, and Marie offered me some church bread, from the communion. That felt pretty special.
People showed up as early as noon until probably about 1:30 pm. Alex (Buba), his girlfriend (Mimi) & his mom, Alexandra (Sessi), Tetka Mira, Paul and his girlfriend (Kiara), Tetka Mara & Tetka Bosa. All together, we had twelve people at our house! We all hung out, chatted, and ate together. Marie made her famous gibanica (Serbian pastry with goat cheese and lemon), which was delicious! Everyone in the family has one dish that no one else makes because that one person makes it the best. It's like a badge of honor, having your one thing that everyone else loves to eat. Everyone else refuses to try to make it out of respect for your and for the desire to eat only your dish made by you because it's the most delicious. Anyway, Marie's dish is her gibanica; no one else EVER makes gibanica. It was delicious! I felt so much like part of the family because I was partly hosting. At the other extended family celebrations, I was told to sit down and be hosted because I was the guest. But today, I got to tell everyone else to sit down because I was (partly) the host. Marie brought out the desserts, a homemade cherry strudel (which I'd been fortunate enough to sample the night before) and some tiramisu. After we finished eating, Marie put all the leftover food (there was A TON) in take away containers, and she handed them out to all the guests. Everyone said their goodbyes, and we were left just the three of us.
After everyone left, we were all kind of tired and socially worn out. So the three of us just plopped down on the couch and watched the last half of some Julia Roberts movie. We didn't really know what was going on since we started over halfway through, but that didn't stop us. After Marie went to bed, Daniel and I played some more Star Wars Battlefront, and I got my ass whooped by Daniel again - no surprise there.
I'm grateful for my honorary position as part of the family. I'm grateful to get a chance to catch up with Paul (this was the first time I've seen Paul since 2014) and meet Kiara. I'm grateful for all the delicious food. I'm grateful for Marie's gibanica. I'm grateful for the opportunity to help out and host.

I just finished watching Tales of the Jedi and I have a lot of words so SPOILER ALERT if you haven't watched it.
I don't want to put this under a read more because I feel like that'll just make people ignore the post so please, if you haven't filtered spoilers and don't want to be spoiled, close your eyes and scroll past this fast :D
I'll be as coherent as I can 😅
First off I am blown. Blown away by this. I'm in awe at how much Star Wars can make me feel and how this is the only franchise that will do this to me.
Episode one, I cried. Baby 'Soka, I shall protect you from everything even though you shall be the one protecting me even with thou chubby baby legs. But when the end credits rolled and Ahsoka's theme played, I teared up. I hadn't cried with Star Wars ever since Crosshair was left on Kamino!! For a moment, I was nine years old watching The Clone Wars in the movie theater with my brother all over again 🥺
Now... Dooku. I hate him. I love him. I love to hate him. I hate to love him. I love Yaddle more (seriously, Yaddle my beloved, I'm not over that). And the way I howled when I realized some of the events were set in TPM?! I mean, animated TPM Qui Gon?! MY CHILDHOOD-
The sadness that Dooku felt at losing Qui Gon, and the scene at the tree felt so surreal. I would have loved to see Dooku's fall to the Dark Side in much more detail but this is in no way a complaint; I love the execution and the short story format, and I felt the setting was exposed pretty clearly and just- AGH.
Also, that scene where Dooku tells the guy from Raxus he can kind of understand his point of view, and while he talks, his face is lit red and the background behind him is dark - *faints* I love it when a scene can visually reflect a character's inner turmoils. 10/10
I still love Yaddle more.
and Mace Windu was fuckin' amazing in this, as he always is. We stan Mace Windu in this house - holy crap.
Now. Now. NOW.
Tales of the Jedi is truly special because, while many will like to dismiss nostalgia factor as pure frivolity, it's the reason I and possibly others feel so intensely right now.
We saw Ahsoka again, as well as Obi-Wan, Anakin, Rex, Jesse. Characters I watched as a kid, who have shaped me in one way or another; we see them grwo with the course of the mini series, and we can tell the context and feel either joy or pain, mostly pain by the end. I had no clue that the training montages with Rex and the boys would lead so smoothly (and so painfully) back to Order 66.
There's a sequence I will now watch with even more pain!! Thank you, Felony.
Also DEPA BILLABA AND CALEB DUME. Guys. The incoherent noises I made at seeing them. I yelled and cried and fangirled and asdkjhañksjdghañsdbgj it was gorgeous to see them. Their cameo didn't even have words, they were just there and it made sense and it felt nice and I love it. Same with Plo and Yoda.
And I respect Ahsoka way more now knowing she worked hard days under the sun. Respect to my queen. UGH and the pain of knowing she was at Padmé's procession because they were friends, having Bail tell her there was nothing she could have done for them (isn't Bail Organa just the best, most comforting character in the franchise?)
And that inquisitor - I was bummed that it ended so quickly. People, I'm a slut for Percy de Rolo, and then you give me an inquisitor with a bird like mask and a deep voice? AÑISDJHGFAÑSBJGFDA anyways ummm Ahsoka was a badass, as usual, and I really wanted to smack the dude who turned her in.
Hehes, I really hope not to have rambled too much. I'm still not over it, these are just my thoughts on the whole series. Soon, I'm going to rewatch it with a bag of popcorn.

Moments That Bring Me Joy: Star Wars Episode II - Attack of the Clones
I'm going through some of my favorite childhood movies and listing all the moments in them that bring me joy. I'm fully aware that many of the stories I loved as a kid are deeply flawed, but I just want to take some time to appreciate what they did well. Just because I'm focusing on the positive doesn't mean I'm unaware of the negative.
Note: I chose the word "joy" deliberately. Not all of the moments that bring me joy bring me (or the characters) happiness. Scenes involving death or pain might not be very fun or cheerful, but I find joy in a good story well told.
I expect that this will be the shortest of the Star Wars ones, because it's my least-favorite movie of the main six. We'll see. I'm making a point to refrain from griping about why this is my least-favorite. The point of this exercise is to point out all the positives - and there really are some good things in this one too!
Because I need to say it sometime, I might as well say it here: The sound of the 20th Century Fox logo will always make me expect the Star Wars theme to follow. That is the sound of pure nostalgia to me <3
The warm regard between Obi-Wan and Anakin is just...well...heart-warming! ^_^
"Besides, your senses aren't that attuned, my young apprentice." "And yours are?" "Possibly."
All of the banter when they're chasing the bounty hunter is top-notch.
Obi-Wan catching Anakin's lightsaber like he's done it a dozen times before.
"Why do I get the feeling you're going to be the death of me?" - a;lkdjgf;sdlfj;sdlfkjdslfkj
"Where are you going, Master?" "For a drink."
"You wanna buy some death sticks?" "You don't want to sell me death sticks." "I don't wanna sell you death sticks." "You want to go home and rethink your life." "I wanna go home and rethink my life."
"I would think that you Jedi would have more respect for the difference between knowledge and...wisdom." - I really enjoy Obi-Wan and Dex's friendship. Kinda wish we got to see more of it!
The Kaminoans have got to be one of my favorite Star Wars alien species. They look so cool, and I love the smooth, sleek aesthetic of their technology.
"That's...why I'm here." - Endlessly quotable line.
Padme's dress when they first get to the lake house is utterly gorgeous.
Padme manages to have gorgeous hair even right after waking up. (Also, I've always been impressed by how Natalie Portman really acts like someone who's just woken up. Kind of rare to see, even from excellent actors.)
I think my favorite one of Padme's outfits is the blue one she wears on Tatooine. It kind of reminds me of Jasmine from Aladdin.
Seismic charges have the best explosion sound effects! 8D
All of Dooku and Obi-Wan's conversation is great, but especially the moment where Dooku says almost the exact same line as Saruman: "We must join with him." / "You must join me." Did they do that on purpose? XD
The sequence on the conveyor belts is fun. Feels like a video game!
"Then we decided to come and rescue you." "Good job."
The Geonosian language is really fun to listen to.
Mace Windu's awesome entrance, igniting his lightsaber right under Jango Fett's nose. And then all the other Jedi show up too!
The ongoing joke of Threepio being mixed up with a battle droid is comedy gold ^_^
Anakin fighting Count Dooku with two lightsabers (however briefly) is super cool.
Yoda flipping and hopping around while fighting is a bit silly-looking, maybe, but I think it's also pretty cool.
Another beautiful sunset on Coruscant.

You and Ashley have been friends for four years now. You went through a lot of hardships together, especially when Ashley had an unplanned pregnancy in the last year of college. Luckily, Mason, now her husband, is an amazing person, and even though it was hard, she was able to graduate. You loved her baby, Arthur, so much, like it was your little brother. You knew that their anniversary was getting closer and you wanted to surprise her.
"No way, I cannot ask you for something like that."
"You're not asking, I'm offering. Besides, you know I love spending time with Arthur," you said, holding your phone with one hand while you tried to wash the dishes you used to eat dinner with the other.
"I don't know Y/N..."
"Girl, just stop. I'm not taking a no for an answer. Spending quality time with your husband is important and I know that you have been not getting laid lately."
"You have no idea how hard it is to have sex with a one-year-old making a mess everywhere." You both laughed.
"I'll go to your house tomorrow at 7 pm. Get a reservation at a nice restaurant, get shaved and, wear your best dress. I want you and Mason to have a good time together."
"Okay, but only because it is our anniversary. I'm gonna take this as a present." Ashley sighed, knowing that she had to say yes anyway.
"Because it is, Ashley. I'll see you tomorrow, bye."
"Bye, honey."
You finished your shores and were planning on watching some videos on youtube when you heard your phone buzzing. You picked it up and saw that you had a message.
Felix, 8:45 pm: Hey
Felix, 8:45 pm: Sorry for messaging late but, are you free tomorrow?
You chuckled. Almost 9 pm wasn't late.
Y/N, 8:46 pm: Sorry, I'm going to my friend's house after work.
Y/N, 8:47 pm: I'm going to babysit her baby so she can go have dinner with her husband.
You met Felix at work, during lunch. He was new there and you have seen him sometimes walking around the place, but you never talked to him. Until one day when he dropped his coffee on you. You remembered how embarrassed he was, his cheeks were red and he profusely apologized. Ever since, you had some small talk with him here and there until one day you gave him his number, saying that he could message you if he needed help with something from work. You know it was bullshit since he was from a different department, but still, you needed an excuse to talk to him. He messaged you a few times but eventually, you thought it was a lost cause.
Y/N, 8:57 pm: Why do you ask?
Felix, 9:00 pm: Nothing.
Felix, 9:01 pm: It's silly.
Y/N, 9:03 pm: If it was that silly, you wouldn't have messaged me.
Y/N, 9:03 pm: Spit it out.
Felix, 9:12 pm: There's a convention for Star Wars fans tomorrow. You said that you loved the movies one time so I bought tickets for you.
Y/N, 9:14 pm: Why didn't you tell me before?
Felix, 9:15 pm: I didn't know if you would want to go. But it's okay, don't worry about it.
You thought for a moment. You really wanted to spend time with him. Felix was so sweet, respectful and kind. He was also very, very handsome.
Y/N, 9:30 pm: Do you wanna come to my friend's house tomorrow with me?
You looked at your phone five minutes later and saw that Felix visualized the message but didn't answer. "Congratulations, you fucked it up, Y/N," you said.
You sat on your couch and turned the tv on, planning on finally watching your favorite youtube videos, when you heard your phone buzzing again.
Felix, 9:50 pm: Sure, why not? Is it okay with your friend? She doesn't know me.
You sighed, happy that he answered.
Y/N, 9:51 pm: I'm gonna tell her but I'm pretty sure she'll be fine.
Tumblr media
"Is he cute?" Ashley asked, putting on her earring. She looked gorgeous with a tight red dress that accentuated her curves and contrasted with her dark skin. Her curly hair was in a bun, leaving her neck and shoulders exposed. You knew Mason would love it.
"He is very cute. And he's so nice too. I only invited him over because he seems really sweet."
You went to Ashley's house one hour before she would leave for dinner so you could help her get ready, and by help, you meant to force her to wear something that wasn't a t-shirt and jeans.
"How do I look?" she turned around, facing you.
"Gorgeous as always."
Ashley hugged you tight. "Thank you so much, Y/N. You know you don't have to do this, right?"
"But I want to."
The bell rang.
"That's probably Felix," you said.
"Let's go downstairs, I wanna meet this boy."
When you went to the living room you saw Felix talking to Mason.
"Hello, I'm Ashley, nice to meet you."
"I'm Felix, nice to meet you too," Felix raised his hand so he could shake Ashley's hand but she gave him a light hug. You smiled, finding really cute how awkward he was.
"Arthur is sleeping now, he already ate, but if he wakes up, there's milk on the fridge. He usually sleeps all night so you don't have much to worry about."
"Okay, you guys have to go before you're late for dinner," you said, pulling Mason and Ashley towards the door.
"Call me if you need anything. We'll be back tomorrow morning so you'll don't have much trouble with him."
"Don't worry about it. You can take your time."
"Also, don't forg-"
"Baby, we have to go," Mason insisted, holding her hand and trying to get her inside of the car.
"Fine. Bye everyone, see you tomorrow."
You waved at them before going inside and closing the door.
"I'm gonna check on Arthur for a second, you can wait here, okay?" You told Felix.
"Sure."
You went upstairs and checked on Arthur's room. He was sleeping soundly. You felt the urge to lightly pinch his chubby little cute cheeks but you decided not to bother him. You went to the living room again and Felix was sitting on the couch.
"Are you hungry? We bought pizza."
"Uhm, not really."
"Are you sure?" you insisted.
"Okay, one slice would be good."
Felix got up and followed you to the kitchen.
"Your friend has a beautiful house," he said, admiring the place.
"She does. I mean, she's an architect and Mason is an engineer, so they were able to buy a nice place," you cut a piece and handed it to him.
"You said that you studied together."
"We went to the same college, but I graduated in graphic design. For obvious reasons, I don't make as much money as them," you laughed. "Did you always wanted to work in a publishing company?" Felix sat on the balcony standing in the middle of the kitchen. "Honestly, I just wanted to work with what I love. Graphic design is not something that people value but it is what makes me happy." You looked at him and Felix smiled at you, his dimple prominent on his face. He was so cute. "What about you?" "Oh, marketing is definitely not something I dreamed of working with. My family has a long line of people that have been working with it, so I barely had a choice,” Felix confessed. "Oh, yeah?" "Yeah." He looked thoughtful like his mind was somewhere else. "I actually wanted to work with art. I love painting." "Really? That's so cool. Do you have a picture of a painting to show me? I would love to see it." Felix hesitated for a while before he grabbed his phone and scrolled through his gallery. "Please don't think I'm weird," he said before showing you the picture. You raised your eyebrows when you saw what was on the screen of his phone. A beautiful painting of you. You realized that he used your profile picture on Facebook as a reference. "Felix, this is amazing." "It took me a week to finish it," he said, holding his hands behind his back, clearly feeling shy. "I love it, really." You and Felix finished eating. You talked more about your plans for the future, the things you wanted to do with your life, your dreams. You were sitting on the couch watching tv when you heard Arthur crying upstairs. "Ops, somebody woke up." You got up to go to his room and you noticed that Felix was following you. "You don't have to go if you don't want to." "It's fine, I wanna help you." When you entered the room, Arthur was up in his crib, deeply crying. "It's okay," you said in a soft tone, picking him up. "I think somebody needs to change its diaper," Felix said. "You are right," you laughed. "Let's change this little boy." You put Arthur on the changing mat and started to change him, but to be honest, you had no idea what you were doing. Felix laughed. "Let me help you." Felix quickly changed his diaper, he clearly knew what he was doing. "Woah, how do you know that?" you asked, looking at him dumbfounded. He laughed again, amused by your reaction. "I have a small brother so I have changed his diaper plenty of times." "Aaah, that explains a lot."
"Let's see if he wants to eat," Felix said, holding Arthur in his arms. You went to the kitchen and looked for the milk. After pouring it into a pan, you heated it up. "We need to make sure we don't overheat it so it won't burn the baby," Felix said while he tested the milk's temperature. You put it into a baby bottle and gave it to Arthur who promptly drank it. "I guess he was hungry," Felix chuckled. "Do you plan on having kids, Felix?" you looked at him, completely mesmerized by how good he was with kids. "Yes, I love kids. I plan on having two kids one day." "That's so cute, I'm sure you'll be an amazing dad." Felix smiled, making your heart skip a beat. "Do you want to have kids, Y/N?" he looked apprehensive. "Yeah, one day. I still need to find the right person." "Of course." Arthur went back to sleep again when he was done eating. "Not gonna lie, taking care of a baby can be tiring," claimed said, sitting on the couch. Felix sat next to you, his knee touching your leg. "Do you want to watch a movie?" you asked. "Sure!" Twenty minutes later, you started to sleep. Your head felt heavy until it fell on Felix's shoulder. He simply smiled, enjoying the feeling of you so close to him.
Tumblr media
The sound of the bell ringing woke you up. You were laying on the couch, a blanket over your body. You looked around and Felix was sleeping on the smaller couch next to yours, with just a pillow under his head. You got up and answered the door. "Hey!" Ashley said, hugging you. "Hi. How was your night?" "It was amazing. Thank you so much, Y/N." Ashley went to the middle of the living room to drop her bag on the couch, Mason following behind. "How's Arthur? Did he behaved?" Mason asked. "Yeah, he slept almost all of the time." You rubbed your eyes, still feeling sleepy. Ashley turned around, seeing Felix sleeping on the couch. "You guys could have slept in the guest room," she laughed. "I'm gonna check on Arthur. What about some breakfast later?" Mason suggested. "That sounds great, but I think we should go home. Besides, you guys need to spend some family time with your baby." You woke Felix up, and while he was trying to get conscious, you chatted with Ashley about dinner. Mason went downstairs with Arthur and you chatted a little more before leaving. "Do you want me to take you home?" Felix asked, leaving Ashley's house by your side. "No, it's okay, I'll get an Uber." "Aw, come on. I'm not gonna let you leave on an Uber so early in the morning." You looked at him, admiring the freckles on his skin. His pink lips looked soft and you had to fight the urge to kiss him. "You know what, okay. I'll go with you." The drive to your house was silent, the music playing on the radio helped you to distract the thoughts on your head. The night you spent with Felix was amazing, seeing him being so sweet like that only made you even more attracted to him. Felix stopped in front of your house. "Well, we are here." "Do you want to come in?" "Oh... uhm, sure, yes, that would be great." You smiled and left the car, running to open the door for him. "Please don't mind the mess," you said, taking some clothes that were on the couch. "Don't worry about it." "Do you want to eat something?" "I'm fine, I'm still full because of the pizza from yesterday." "Okay." There was an awkward silence for a while and you realized you didn't think this through. Invite him over and what? "You know what? There's something I want to eat," Felix said. "Oh, okay. What do you want? I have bread, cereal, we can make panca-" "You." "What?" you looked at him, your eyes wide. "I w-want to eat you." Felix stuttered, his face showing that he was feeling too shy to be saying the words that left his mouth. "Oh, I'm... I-" you didn't have the chance to finish, Felix approached you and kissed you. You were still processing what was happening so you didn't kiss him back yet. Felix noticed and stopped kissing you. "I-I'm so sorry, Y/N, I shoul-" "No! It's okay. I just wasn't expecting." You kissed him, holding his face and tasting his lips. His left hand held the back of your head while the other held your waist. He bit your lower lip, his tongue entering your mouth and playing with yours. He pressed his body against yours and you felt his semi-hard dick. You whined, trying to control your breath. "Do you want to keep going?" Felix asked, his forehead resting against yours. You simply nodded. "Where's your room?" You grabbed his hand, guiding him to your room. Once you were inside, Felix slammed you against the door, pressing his body into yours. He started to grind his clothed cock on your heat and, this time, you couldn't hold your moans anymore. "Felix," was all you managed to say before he kissed you again. A messy kiss that screamed how much he was longing for you, how much he desired you. His hand grabbed your ass, pulling you closer as if it was even possible. "I wanna taste you," he said, taking you to the bed. You laid down and he wasted no time to take off your pants, pulling your panties with them in a swift movement. Soon enough, his tongue was exploring your wet lips, savoring the taste of your arousal. Felix played with your clit, his tongue sliding against the sensitive skin. You hoped that your neighbors had already left for work, otherwise you would end up waking them up because of your moans. Felix stopped eating you out to unbutton his shirt. "You have no idea how much I wanted to fuck you," he said, his voice deep, making you raise your hips, craving to be filled up. "Felix, please," you moaned. "You want me to fuck you, baby?" "Yes, please." It was embarrassing, you weren't used to begging. Most of the time that you had sex, you were always the one in control. But not with Felix. "Are you on the pill?" Felix asked, taking the rest of his clothes off and pumping his rock-hard cock. "Yeah, please fuck me." "Anything for you," he growled, sliding his dick into your dripping pussy. Felix already started an incessant pounding into you, stealing moans from your throat. "You are so fucking beautiful." You closed your eyes, feeling the burning on your stomach getting stronger. "Fuck, so fucking good, Y/N. You are taking me so well." "Please, don't s-stop." "Turn around, I wanna fuck you from behind." You didn't have much strength left, but Felix helped you out. He was inside of you again, hitting the right spots in this position. Felix felt your pussy tightening against his dick and he started to play with your clit. "Fuck, Felix, I'm gonna cum," you screamed, not being able to control yourself anymore. You came, a long moan leaving your mouth. "I'm gonna cum inside of your little pussy, I'm gonna fill you up so good." He didn't slow his pace, his hips hitting yours in a fast rhythm. "I'm gonna put a baby in your little cute belly, baby girl," he said, closing his eyes as his dick slid in and out of your pussy. "Fuck," you moaned. "You are gonna look so good, all swollen, f-fuck." A few lazy thrusts and Felix came inside of you. He kept thrusting on you for a while until you milked him out. He laid by your side, trying to catch his breath. Felix put his arm on his face, hiding it. He looked completely flustered. "I'm sorry, Y/N. It was way too soon for me to let out this embarrassing kinky stuff." "Felix, shut up. It was fucking hot," you smiled, turning around to hug him and rest your head on his chest. He played with your hair, the warmth of his skin making you fall asleep. But sleeping wasn't on Felix's plans. "Ready for round two?"

hello! i loved ur college au, so can i request that but for zhongli and kaeya pls? thank you!
the boys as your college roommate pt.2
Tumblr media
pairings: zhongli & kaeya x gn!reader ft.hu tao (afab reader for kaeya)
content/warnings: fluffyyy, mentions of a seance. mentions of sex for kaeya's but no actual intercourse between the reader & kaeya
a/n: i got carried away with zhongli... ehe *ghost busters theme song*
Tumblr media
-> zhongli
moving in with zhongli was an absolute delight. he was so respectful of your space and even helped you study!
you weren't really surprised to find out he was a history major. it's practically almost all he talked about, not that you minded.
today he came home with the biggest smile plastered on his face and pamphlet in hand. "there's a new history exhibit opening up around campus. i heard it's about the town's local history and war from over 800 years ago. uh if you'd like, we can go together?" and who were you to say no?
you knew this wasn't a date or anything, just two friends hanging out! because that's what friends do, right? once you and zhongli arrived, you both decided to go with a tour guide because even zhongli didn't know much about the town's history. "and this exhibit over here ladies and gentlemen tells you about the haunting of whitmore's house, ouuuuu!" the tour guide gave his worst ghostly impression.
you chuckle and turn to zhongli, who didn't seem as amused. "zhongli? you don't really believe in the haunting of whitmore's house, ouuuuu!" you gave your best mimic of the tour guide. he's eyes remains fixated on the small replica of the house. "hmm, i'm not sure. i am confused on why it would be in a history museum."
"well my friend, whitmore was a brave general during the war. he unfortunately got ambushed in his own home. legend has it you can still hear his screaming coming from his bedroom!" the tour guide made another ghostly mimic before leaving. that sent chills up your spine. "eugh, how awful." you crossed your arms. the distaste in your voice was very evident, so zhongli and you both decided to move on to the next exhibit.
later that night while you guys were deciding on what to have for dinner, there was very loud knocking sound at the door. "i'll get it." when you opened the door, you were met with an overly excited hu tao. she was bouncing on her toes with a up to no good grin.
"hu tao? i wasn't expecting you. come on in." you open the door wider and she makes a bee line for the couch. "weeee have plans tonight." she announces plopping down next to zhongli. "we do? i wasn't aware." zhongli raises his eyebrows.
hu tao was a good friend of zhongli's. although you didn't know her too well, you liked her spirit. "ohhh yes we do! we're having a seance at whitmore's house." her smile only grew wider. speaking of spirits. you on the other hand collapsed on the couch. "a seance? at a haunted house? you can count me out." you shiver. zhongli wanted to say he was surprised, but he really wasn't. hu tao was the president of the occult club after all.
"will it just be us?" zhongli's interest was piqued. "mmm no. a few of my club members will be joining us but i wanted to invite the two of you as well! i know you guys went to the museum today so i thought you'd be interested!" the way hu tao's eyes sparkled at this was a bit concerning.
you sigh, nibbling on your bottom lip in deep thought. oh, what the hell. it's not like you believe in this ghosts anyway. you slam your palms on the coffee table and stand up abruptly, making zhongli and hu tao flinch. "let's go catch some ghosts!"
now what the hell were you thinking?! the weather was freezing, and dark clouds painted the night, showing signs of a thunderstorm. you were shaking in your boots standing outside of the haunted house. if you can even call it that. it was more of an abandoned manor. a gate surrounded the property so it was a hassle to get to get in.
zhongli noticed your shaking, so he held your hand. you look up at him and he just shoots you a comforting smile. your body begins to shake less. "alright everyone, are we ready?" hu tao turns around to look at everyone. you all nod and follow hu tao inside. the atmosphere inside wasn't helping your nerves. the wallpaper was tearing from the walls, stains of water damaged, missing floorboards, and- was that a blood stain?
you must've clenched zhongli's hand too tight because he started rubbing his thumb across your intertwined hands to help calm you down. okay, deep breaths y/n. you can do this. besides, it's not like ghosts actually exist, right?
"wowwww look at this place! how about we explore for a bit? we can split up and meet up later here!" hu tao suggested. you were about to protest, but zhongli was already leading you away from the rest of the group. "is this really safe?" you ask him barely loud enough.
"don't worry. i'm here with you. and if you get too uncomfortable, i'm sure hu tao will understand that we had to leave." his words brought you enough comfort to keep your legs walking. you clung to zhongli's side as you explored the eerie hallway with nothing but a dim flashlight. "i wonder which room was his." zhongli mumbled mindlessly. your body tensed up at his statement and you shook your head. "i'm sure hu tao is on the hunt for it." you tried to joke, but the fear building up in the pit of your stomach was just too much.
the gods were definitely against you. the flashlight zhongli was holding had gone out. "oh great. good thing we have our phones." you reached out for your phone in your pocket and hastily turned the flashlight on. "oh, seems like i forgot my phone. let's find hu tao."
for the rest of the night, your hand never left zhongli's. even when you heard a ghoulish scream coming from the upper level
Tumblr media
-> kaeya
being roommates with kayea was very, well, exhilarating. he wasn't a terrible roommate but he was totally a fuckboy. you had to set boundaries when you heard unwanted noises coming from him and his friends on the other side of your wall almost every night.
he apologized for his behavior and promised to never let it happen again. until it did.
it was midnight and you were awoken by the very evident sex noises coming from kaeya's room. it had to have been his 3rd person this week. he thought he was being slick by sneaking his links over while you were fast asleep. you were finally going to put a stop to this.
deciding enough was enough, you angrily rip off the blanket on your body and shuffle into your bunny slippers. you march over to kaeya's room and knock very loudly on his door. "kaeya my love, is everything alright. seems like quite a ruckus in there. i'm coming in."
without shame, you open up the door wide to find kaeya and his flavor of the week hiding under his covers. well, time to put your acting skills to use. "oh! kaeya! what's this? how could you! even after i told you about our baby just yesterday?! what am i suppose to do now? i can't deal with this!" you burst out into the fakest tears kaeya has ever seen. kaeya had the most horrific expression on his face. the girl beside him was disgusted. she slapped kaeya, "you told me you were single! your s/o is pregnant! you disgusting man." she grabbed all of her clothes littered on the floor and left the place almost like she was never there.
as soon as she left, you wiped away your fake tears. "what a performance am i right? i'll make a great movie star in the future." kaeya clenched his bedsheets closer to his body and looked at you like he's seen a ghost. "what the hell was that? what did you-" "i told you specifically not to bring anymore of your hookups to our shared dorm. this isn't just your space, kaeya." you crossed your arms and squinted your eyes. he huffed and fell back on his bed. "yeah but did you have to be so dramatic about it? now everyone's gonna think you're pregnant with my baby."
oh. you didn't even think about that. "that's a problem for later. right now i need you to seriously promise me no more hookups. i'm getting tired." kaeya propped himself on his elbows. he knows he was being unfair and totally disrespectful. it was your place too and he shouldn't keep up his antics. "okay. i promise. i swear this time. i'm sorry."
and so he really did keep his promise. in fact, his hookups in general became less and less prominent, until he stopped hooking up with people at all. why? well because he developed feelings for you. he never planned on it, but it kinda just happened.
he realized his feelings when you first brought a date over to your dorm. he didn't like the way you flirted with them and how you laughed at all of their jokes. they should be laughing at my jokes, he thought.
so after that, he began dropping hints that he liked you. of course you never picked up on them. kaeya being a flirt was a normal thing. so it only made sense for you to not pick up what he was putting down.
but kaeya was determined. he was determined to make you his. he just needed a little push.

Monthly Muppets: The Muppet Show: Star Wars (May the 4th Special Commission for WeirdKev27)
Tumblr media
May the fourth be with you all you happy people! It’s that special time again to celebrate all things Stars and Wars.
Star Wars holds a special place in my heart: I grew up with the original trilogy, even still having the gold VHS box set I grew up with, and saw each of the prequels in theaters with my dad, brother and my dad’s best friend and my geeky mentor Don. I grew up with both versions of the clone wars, read the timothy zahn trilogy, piled up a bunch of books I never read, gladly grabbed star wars tales from my middle school library. I even TRIED watching the holiday special. Twice... tried being the key word but even with rifftrax and Emma’s help, we had to bail out.
Point is this franchise is special to me.. yet i’ve also kept it at arms length recently. As for why... you can probably guess....
Tumblr media
Yeah after the decent start of Force Wakens and the utterly awesome Last Jedi, we got.. this thing, a pandering, bloated mess with Palpatine alive for some reason that seemed so paranoid about Last Jedi being divisive that it over corrected, strangling out every great part of that film to try and appease angry fanboys. Because Disney suddenly decided they cared about that despite their treatment of owl house, ducktales and other shows showing they very much don’t care about us when they aren’t trying to bilk us for money.
Thankfully from what i’ve heard the Mandolorian exists and I WILL try it, I just procastinate a lot, so the franchise is on the mend but this wound has taken a long time to heal.. but just talking about my longtime love of the franchise here has helped a lot. So naturlaly even with those wounds still fresh, when Kev, who normally dosen’t do this segment, asked to fund this month’s monthly muppets to tie in with may the fourth, I was more than game, having never watched this episode.
For those of you who just sat through that wondering what monthly muppets is, it’s my monthly look at all things muppets thanks to my good friend emma (usually). So for this month i’m taking a look as the galaxy far far away comes to the “strange variety show planet” of the muppet show.
Oddly enough we haven’t actually TALKED about the muppet show on this segment yet, but it’s easily one of the best things tv ever hocked at us like a majestic loogie: The creativity, well timed jokes, awesome music numbers and great guests are well known. I myself first saw the show when my Nibling was a baby and my brother bought the dvd’s to watch with them. See like most of my generation I found the muppets via the movies, so while I had heard of the muppet sohw this was my first exposure and it was glorious. While I didn’t recognize most of the guest stars, the creativity, humor and sheer craftsman ship was there from day one. It even gave me a deeper respect for Lou Rawls, who I already liked for his garfield themes but got to see just how much his music slapped. The show sadly stopped getting dvds after season 3 but luckily all but two episodes (one due to copyright and another because the performer is a monster and we’ll leave it at that) present. So now we all can enjoy muppets anytime and the fun of the accidentla corprate synergy of this tremendous episode. So join me under the cut as a galaxy far far away does vaudville, this is the muppet show with special guest star wars!
Tumblr media
Since the star wars stuff takes up most of the episode and is basically one long storyline leading into the finale, a two part pigs in space for the ages, i’m going to cover all the OTHER stuff first and then leave the chewy goodness for the finale.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
                                               Rama-Lama-Ding-Dong
This one is a bop, a fun 50′s greaser classic sung by a shepard to a bunch of sheep.. who spend the rest of the episode randomly showing up places, as you do when your a muppet. Overall a fun little ditty.
Tumblr media
                                                 Muppet News Flash
We get two great muppet newsflashes, one where the Newsman gets eaten by sheep and another where Venus falls on him... so normal day for the newsman. I assume muppets are just like mutants and have a bunch of eggs and 5 powerful muppets waiting on standbye to ressrecut them. They’ve gone through like.. 999 newsman at this point. What’s one more?
Tumblr media
                                                 Six-String Orchestra
This was my favoirite bit of the episode. Scooter sings an earnest song about a guitar player who just wants to be good enough to play with others one day, with Electra mayhem naturally filling the role of the rest of the band, first in this weird chroma key you see, then in a full on number. IT’s heartfelt, adorable and perfectly fits scooter. The song itself is also really good,w tiht heo ther intsturments coming in as he lists them perfectly and the whole thing just being a standout in an episode that’s already standout for obvious reasons. It really encapuslates why I love the muppets so much: a lot of their charm comes from self awarness and slapstick chaos.. but it has a heart. It’s telling we can go from Mark Hamill and a Gargoyle Gargling Gershwin to Scooter playing his heart out adorkably. Top shelf sketch i’ll certainly go back to.
Tumblr media
                                              The Star Wars
As I said, and unusually for muppet show, the wraparound with star wars takes up most of the time. This is because the star wars cast spend most of their time back stage and hamill does only ONE onstage segment.
It still works though: the sheer NOVELTY of having Luke, Threepeo and R2 crash the muppet show is great and how they do it is just as impressive: to my shock, keep in mind i’d never seen this one before, the episode opens with “Angus Mcgonagle, 5 seconds mr mgongagle” and even without the title I wouldve known this guy’s gig is toast. Still finding a muppet in that spot is delightful and Angus naturally dosen’t go away: he’s an argyle gargoyle who gargle’s gershwin and he’s going to gargle dammit! It’s a fun runner.. and later has one of the best comedic payoff’s i’ve seen from the show as you can see above.
As for WHY Mark Hamill, beloved movie star, jedi and voice actor is gargling gershwin and why he’s here at all, Hamill asked to be able to be both himself AND Luke as, like with the rest of the star wars cast, he was afraid of being typecast after this. And as always jim was happy to make his guests comfortable, so they explained it as Hamill being luke’s cousin. And honestly t’is a brilliant way to have their cake and eat it too: this way they could have a human counterpart to the non-human star wars cast, but still have someone to do muppety shenanigans outside of the star wars bit. Again Mark dosen’t do any proper musical numbers like most guests till the end.. but he still gets to play off the muppets.
The best bit is him doing impresssions.. which comes from real life. Mark did a Kermit impression and Jim’s reaction was “that’s good, who is it?”, which morphed into FOzzie and Kermit simply not getting it here. We also get mark hamill GLORIOUSLY singing off key and revealing he can gargle gershwin, which is as delightful as it looks.
The Star Wars stuff itself is fun as Luke charges through the set, refuses to pariticpate int hes ong and dance and the two casts play off each other perfectly. From R2 wanting to dance, to threepeo’s befuttlement it’s all fantastic. We also get some call forwards to Empire, which this episode was clearly promoting as it premired a few months after this: Luke wears his Bespin outfit (which everyone compliments and asks whose his tailor which while shameless promotion.. is also accurate. Luke’s empire luke slaps. ) and they talk about revealing Dearth Nadir’s identity...
Tumblr media
which given the nose is pretty obviously disgraced former president Richard Nixon!
This leads us into Pigs innnnnnnn spaccceeeeee where the Star Wars trio, on the search for chewie (sans Han who wasn’t paid enough for this ) which as usual has some funny bits. And I keep saying that not because i’ts unremarkable but because this is the muppet show: every inch is stuffed with funny gags that are just that: funny. Though we do get some accidental incest involving Piggy dressing up and impersonating leia to try and flirt with luke
Tumblr media
And what coudl save them all? Why a song and dance number with Kermit finally getting his wish with the rest of the star wars cast dancing and mark hamill coming out to show his talent. Sadly luke didn’t sing his own signature number...
youtube
But still it’s a heck of a finish. Overall this episode is fantastic, a nice tribute to both the hype around star wars at the time and a good old splash of muppet magic, give it a watch and may the fourth be with you.
Next Month: It’s pride which means we’re taking a break from the usual muppets to dance magic dance.. yes folks it’s LABYRINTH!

Loki spoilers won't be found here.
Loki shouldn't exist. Not as a show anyway. Despite being perhaps Marvel's most popular character on screen, Loki snuffed it at the start of Avengers: Infinity War. But of course, that didn't stick for long, what with him being a god and all.
Following the return of an alternate Loki in Avengers; Endgame, Thor's mischievous brother is now working to fix the timeline alongside an organisation known as the Time Variance Authority (TVA). It's a weird starting point for one of Marvel's most unique characters, but in a world where people fly and heroes are named after bugs, weird is most welcome. In fact, that's exactly why fans are so passionate about Marvel, and that includes Loki director Kate Herron.
"I remember trying to turn one of my Barbies into Storm, and I melted her hair off," says Herron. As far as Marvel entry points go, that has to rank up there with the very best. And just like Kate grew up "loving the X-Men cartoon," a whole new generation will grow up adoring shows like Loki.
Herron tells us that she's always loved the God of Mischief, so when she heard that Loki would be starring in his own solo outing, she immediately had to get involved. "I remember saying to my agent, 'Just keep calling them. Just keep calling them. Eventually, they will cave, and they will meet me.'"
Once she was in the room with Disney, Kate showed them a 60-page pitch document that included "everything" in it. "I figured, go big or go home, because I knew I’d be up against some really experienced directors, and I thought, 'Well, I’m not going to lie to them' and be like, 'I’m the most experienced person you’re meeting.’ But I thought I’d just be the most passionate."
"Loki defines what the vibe of the MCU has become. He was that, almost from the beginning."
Clearly, it worked, and not long after, Herron started to collaborate with Loki head writer Michael Waldron, another Marvel fan who took an unusual path to reach this point. Before joining the House of Mouse, Michael worked in the Rick and Morty writers room, which he describes as a sort of "sci-fi college" where he was "inundated with science-fiction knowledge all day, every day."
Riffing on obscure Marvel characters for Rick and Morty put Waldron in good stead for the challenges he would face writing Loki. "Obviously that kind of sci-fi multiversal world was adjacent to what Marvel is doing more and more of. My brain was really finely tuned for that, heading into the MCU world."
In his first pitch meeting, Michael described Loki himself as pivotal to this world that Marvel has created. "He defined what the sense of humour and the vibe of the MCU had become. He was that, almost from the beginning." It's vital then that Marvel gets this show right, and that's something both Michael and Kate are fully aware of.
Not only does Herron want to "pay respect and homage to a character that people love," she also wants to ensure "there’s a reason why we’re going back in," by "taking Loki to fresh ground."
Of course, covering "fresh ground" can be risky, especially with a "six-hour movie" like this. And that's why Waldron was "terrified" longtime Marvel fans might find their show too complex or inaccessible. "That was my biggest fear. It keeps me up at night," says Michael. But the writers room rose to that challenge by starting from the ground up.
"We had to establish a logical foundational sci-fi reality for the show. It’s the TVA. They police time. That meant that we had to create rules, and build out what do they do? Why do they do it? For the writers’ room, they all had drawings and stuff like this on the whiteboards."
"That was my biggest fear. It keeps me up at night."
"And that necessitates really complex explanations and ideas," Michael continues. "Then you have to figure out: 'OK, how can we boil this down into a very simple way so that the audience is going to understand what Loki is going through, but they’re not going to feel like they’re in science class? They’re not going to tune out because they’re bored?'"
That doesn't seem likely though. Waldron describes himself as the show's "harshest critic," so he was quick to call out scenes or bits of dialogue that might not work. "I’m very easily bored," says Michael. "I fall asleep easily in anything." And it was this low threshold that helped him navigate those trickier exposition scenes in ways that will still hold the viewer's interest.
And it also helps that we've never seen Loki quite like this before. As Kate points out, "Loki's in a very different place to where we’ve seen him in the last 10 years. We’re taking him on a very unique, new journey. It’s him working out who he is, and trying to basically undo this mess he’s made with time, with the TVA."
Although there will be nods to the comics, Herron says that Loki's journey here is something we've "not seen or read before." And that's also true of where we're at in the MCU right now. Post-Endgame, this is a very different world to the one Stan Lee envisioned all those many years ago.
Michael remembers when the Loki writer's room was fortunate enough to watch an early cut of Avengers: Endgame, and then suddenly they realised, "We’re making Loki in this era after that." So what comes next? "To me, that was exciting – this unchartered territory of 'where does the MCU go?' It felt like, more than ever, that sandbox – we could blow the lid on it, and go wherever we wanted to."
No comic book characters were off-limits to Waldron and his team either. "If they were within the rights, and legal could clear it, there was no reason we couldn’t try and chase them down." And when we pressed him on possible cameos, Michael simply told us to "Expect the unexpected."
"Loki's in a very different place to where we’ve seen him in the last 10 years."
That's often par for the course with new shows like this, but we have no reason to doubt Michael here, because for once, it really does seem like Loki will be different from anything that's come before. Kate says just when it looked like things might be getting "too" weird — "They’re not going to let me do this" – Marvel told her, “No, go weirder.”
So yes, keep an eye out for "twists and turns" and sure, look out for wider "ramifications" that will impact the MCU at large. But first and foremost, except things to get real weird real fast. Could melty-haired Storm even appear for a multiverse cameo? Probably not, but that's exactly the kind of chaos we're expecting to see in the God of Mischief's very first solo venture.
Loki premieres on June 9, 2021, streaming exclusively on Disney+.

1990 New York Times
Young Actor's Life Has the Makings of a Movie
by Lynn Mautner
New York Times
May 20, 1990
It would make a good movie. A 15-year-old sophomore at Ridgewood High School is playing the Artful Dodger in the musical ''Oliver'' with the school's theater group, New Players, when he is discovered by a casting agency secretary and whisked off to Broadway and the movies.
That's exactly what happened to Robert Sean Leonard, now 21, and a star of the 1989 film ''Dead Poets Society,'' which received an Oscar for best original screenplay.
''My mother took me to New Players' summer performances when I was 10,'' he said, ''and I loved the camaraderie of people, rehearsing and singing. I began spending more time there, painting signs and moving furniture, and soon became an element of the company, with small roles in 'The Miracle Worker,' 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,' 'Barnum.' ''
Starting as an understudy for three roles at the New York Public Theater (he never got on stage), Mr. Leonard amassed credits that include ''The Beach House'' with George Grizzard for the Circle Repertory Theater, television movies, ''Brighton Beach Memoirs'' and ''Breaking the Code'' on Broadway, plays at the West Bank Cafe on 42d Street and the recent ''When She Danced'' at Playwrights Horizons.
He has just completed a part as Paul Newman's and Joanne Woodward's son in the movie ''Mr. and Mrs. Bridge,'' filmed in Kansas City, to be released in August. ''I age from a 15-year-old Eagle Scout to 22, coming home from World War II with a mustache,'' Mr. Leonard said.
Mr. Leonard, who received a general equivalency diploma when he was 17, lives in New York City and attends Fordham University between performances. Soon to return from the Cannes Film Festival with his fellow actors in ''Dead Poets,'' he is next scheduled to go into rehearsal for the film ''Married to It,'' a romantic comedy.
Q. Do you remember when you decided on an acting career?
A. I never decided to pursue an acting career. It just has happened. I still think it's going to stop and I'll have to get a real job soon, but I'm afraid to question it because if I do, it will disappear.
Q. How do you think your theater experience in high school has helped you?
A. It was a great teaching experience that prepared me in a lot of ways. We did 10 shows in 10 weeks, so there was no time to think about method. It was running for the stage, hoping you'll make it in time for your entrance. In Steven Soderbergh's new book of his diaries when directing the film ''Sex, Lies and Videotape,'' he said that on a film set there should always be a chain of command, but never a chain of respect.
At New Players, those three to four years, everyone was given the same respect. You had to, because you'd be the lead one week and painting sets the next. That's a luxury that is not available in New York, unfortunately, because of the unions. You're an actor and that's it.
Q. Have you taken any acting lessons? Do you recommend them for others?
A. I've taken two classes - a video acting class to help me get from stage to film, with Marty Winkler, currently my manager, and an acting class at H. B. Studios.
Acting classes are tricky. It's like asking someone in therapy if they'd recommend going to a psychiatrist. For some people it's great; for some it's not necessary; for some it's harmful. The best way to learn acting is just to do it.
There's a danger to the classroom, because it's safe, and you can get addicted to it. The clique of people are there, and you might tend to remain with them and never go out on your own. So it can give you the safety net which can eventually strip away your courage to go out and really try. On the other hand, you can get a wonderful teacher who brings out the best in you and gives you the courage to go out and dazzle everybody.
Q. You went from high school to Off Broadway. What were your feelings and fears during your first professional performance?
A. The first time I performed in New York - in ''Sally's Gone, She Left Her Name'' - I played Michael Learned's son. I think I was too young. I wasn't even aware of reasons to be afraid. I was just there for the fun of it. Fresh out of New Players, I knew it to be fun. I've never worried about lines. In ''Brighton Beach'' I should have been tense, because it was Broadway. I was nervous, but not racked - more excited.
Q. What do you enjoy most about acting?
A. The people, and opportunities to learn, to travel, both physically and emotionally. To look at people other than myself and try to figure out what makes them tick.
Olivier said you never play a villain; you play a man considered to be a villain; that you have to justify everything he does first; you have to know that what you are doing is right and find a way to make it right - even murder.
I just played a conceited piano player in ''When She Danced,'' and I had to figure out what would make a person be conceited and make that O.K. with me. I learned where conceit comes from - from confidence and talent.
Worst thing you can do is play someone and judge him at the same time, saying: ''Here I am. I am so conceited.'' First you have to understand why you're that way so that people interpret you as conceited.
Q. Do you consider acting an escape?
A. I don't look at performing as escaping, as really becoming another person and leaving my problems for two hours, so I don't have to deal with me, because I don't become another person. I work, so that when I am working, in a way it is me at my best. I'm not leaving myself; in fact, I'm more focused on myself than ever. I don't become that person, but I fully understand him, fully explore him, as to why he does what he does and justify it.
You can't play a fool to play Bottom, who's the opposite of fool in Shakespeare's ''Midsummer Night's Dream.'' What makes people fools is that they're completely confident in what they're doing. They don't think they're fools; they think they're right on track, which makes them so funny and makes them look like fools.
Q. Who influenced you the most?
A. I have not had one person or experience that stands out that's a turning point. Every step in acting relies heavily on the one before. Everything I've learned colors everything I have known before, and suddenly changes it.
I have learned a little bit from everyone I have known, whether about acting itself, or living and working as an actor. Like a good detective novel, for every clue that is solved, two more appear. Every time I learn something, it opens two other doors. In ''Dead Poets,'' the rooftop scene, where I throw the desk set off, was improvised. Are instincts then a part of acting?
Q. Are there desirable qualities to have as an actor?
A. Concentration, perseverence, lack of inhibitions. There's no room for self-consciousness on stage. Also, there is an element in acting that is not fair. Whatever talent is, part of it can be learned and part can't. There are people that audiences like to watch or don't. In Soderbergh's book, he says that talent plus perseverance will equal luck. But I don't know what talent is; it is beyond definition.
Q. Do you learn by watching other films and plays? Your own? Other people?
A. Sometimes I watch for directing; sometimes for performing. There are lines in ''Dead Poets'' I would do differently, if given the chance. For example, Todd said: ''You talk and people listen to you, Neil. I am not like that.'' I answer, ''Don't you think you could be?'' I think I could have made it clearer. I don't get much from observing strangers, because although I see what they do, I don't know where they're coming from.
Q. What are the main differences between stage and film work?
A. I feel that as an actor, you should start in theater, to learn the process of creating a character, in rehearsal. Film is an arena for people who already know that, because on the set they expect you to know the character inside out.
Film work is harder, because this tangible part has to happen in your head before filming takes place. And it's more solitary. You create your character alone, without the give-and-take of other actors.
Q. What tips would you give young, aspiring actors?
A. Read plays aloud with friends at home; do any work you can do in high school. Hang out with jocks, leatherheads, and see what makes them work. Don't be a theater rat and only talk to actors. Read a lot. You really have to feel it; really want it; then take it. Don't take no for an answer. Seize the day.

Movie Night
Requested by: Anonymous
Pairing: Isaac x reader
Genre: Fluff, slight smut
Characters: Y/N, Isaac, Scott, Stiles, Kira, Lydia
Description: The pack are having a movie night so Y/N and Isaac decide to take this opportunity to get as close to each other as possible.
The ringing from the school bell awoke you from your daydreaming, startling you a little. Your mind had been a little preoccupied with something all day, or rather someone. Isaac. You and him had gotten together a few months ago after you both bumped into each other in the hallway and you had been inseperable ever since. Well, apart from the last couple of weeks anyway. He had been busy helping Scott and the others with the Alpha pack and you had been busy studying for the finals. You hadn't seen each other properly for weeks, which was why you were so excited for the nights events. The pack was having a movie night, so you and Isaac both decided to make the most of this opportunity.
You stood up, gathered your belongings and rushed out of the classroom, eager to find Isaac. As you walked out of the front doors, you spotted Isaac leaning against the front of his bike talking to Scott. You made your way towards Isaac, excitement slowly creeping up your body. Isaac looked past Scott and spotted you walking towards him, causing a large smile to creep up onto his face. Scott noticed this smile and immediately knew what the cause of it was. He waved goodbye to Isaac and made his way to his own bike, leaving you and Isaac alone.
You dropped your books and bag onto the ground and engulfed Isaac into a hug, wrapping your arms tightly around his neck. You could hear Isaac inhaling your scent and smiled a little, knowing how much he loved your signature scent. Isaac wrapped his arms tightly around your waist in response. "I've missed you so much, Y/N." You leaned back and planted a deep, loving kiss onto his lips. You both melted into the kiss and forgot about the world around you until the sound of a horn blaring broke you two apart.
"Get a room you two!" Stiles leaned out of his window and flashed a cheeky smile at you both, earning a low growl from Isaac just loud enough for Stiles to hear. He rolled up his window quickly and carried on driving out of the parking lot before Isaac hit him. You chuckled at Stiles' response and picked up your bag and books from the floor before getting onto the back of Isaac's bike. You wrapped your hands around his waist and braced yourself for the rumble of the bikes engine before you took off.
Later on, after dropping off your bag and books at your house, you both made your way to Scott's house where the rest of the pack were situated for the movie night. You and Isaac were sitting together on the couch. His arm was wrapped around you whilst your legs were resting on his. You rolled your eyes at the childish rantings of Scott and Stiles over which movie to watch. You looked over at Kira and Lydia who had the exact same reaction as you.
"You still haven't watched Star Wars?! We are watching that!" Scott threw his hands up into the air in defeat and shook his head in disbelief. "What about the girls? I'm sure they dont wanna watch it!" Stiles looked over at you for a reaction. You shrugged your shoulders, indicating that you didnt really mind. "I've watched them all, so I'm not really bothered." Stiles looks to Kira and Lydia to back him up. Lydia made a disgusted face. "It's really not my sort of movie, Stiles. I'm sure Kira feels the same way." Kira nodded in response, earning a smile from Scott. "FINE! We'll watch one of those soppy, romantic films. But I swear one of these days, Scott, you will watch Star Wars."
You all cheered as a movie was finally put on and you all settled down in your respective places. Scott was sitting inbetween Kiras legs, whilst she was messing with his hair. Stiles and Lydia were sitting next to each other with Stiles trying to wrap his arm around Lydia, but ultimately failing. You had moved from your previous position and had settled yourself on Isaac's lap, with your arms wrapped around his neck.
Whilst watching the movie, Isaac's hand had moved from the back of the couch to your waist, absentmindedly tickling the skin hidden underneath your top. Shivers were sent up and down your spine as Isaac's fingers moved further and further under your top. Isaac noticed this and sniggered to himself, deciding to take things up a notch. His head leaned down to your neck and his lips attached themselves to the sweet spot on your neck. You tried your best to keep your concentration on the movie and not make any noise, but it was proving very difficult.
You soon realised what Isaac was doing and decided to play your own little game with him. As he was kissing further and further down your neck, your hands slid down his torso and made their way to the top of his pants. You head his breath hitch as your hand brushed across his clothed package and he decided to pick up the pace. His hands travelled down your body, causing goosebumps to rise on your skin. You tried your best to resist what he was doing, but it proved very difficult. You maneuvered yourself slightly and dragged Isaac's head down to yours, lips attaching to his. Tongues fought for dominance for a while, until Isaac won. You both hungrily kissed each other, forgetting the present company in the room with you. Everyone's attention was now on you two instead of the movie, chuckling and giggling slightly. Stiles cleared his throat loudly, causing you and Isaac to jump apart.
Red creeped up into your cheeks as you realised just exactly what had happened. A smile creeped onto Isaac's face as you hid your head in Isaac's arms. "You guys were putting on quite the show there. Are you sure you dint want to get a room now?" Stiles grinned mischeaviously at the both of you, earning a look of disapproval from Lydia who whacked him on the back of the head.
Isaac stood up from the couch, lifting you with him, and walked up the stairs. He looked back at the pack and wiggled his eyebrows, earning a roar of laughter to come fro, behind you. You smiled into Isaac's arms as you were both finally going to get much needed alone time.
