Honestly the greatest technological achievement of the last decade is the increased availability of audiobooks. When I was a kid you had to buy/borrow 15 CDs just to hear one novel. And those things were expensive.

Each CD held an hour or two of audio, then you had to put on the next CD. Nowadays you can just stream an audiobook uninterrupted. And I think that's beautiful.

Happy poetry month! In the spirit of the month, what's your favourite poem? I'm not an avid poetry reader but mine is We Only Want the Earth.
Ooooh I'll have to check that one out, I don't think I've read it!
Hmmm as for favorite poem, there's a few I throw out as my top poem with frequency, but here I've got to say The Bridge by C. Dale Young. I just adore its positivity and the way it isn't afraid to be in love with the small details of life. That's just a feeling I relate with so much in my life and the whole poem is SUCH a vibe. Think I called it my idea of the world's greatest love poem in an essay once (which is def A Claim which idk if I'd fully back up now but the vibes are there) because it isn't just a poem about being in love with someone, it's loving everything they do and everything around you and loving just the world as a whole and how you see it everyday. Its such a vibe fr

I started working out again yesterday. I like to listen to audiobooks while working out, so I started "I'm glad my mom died" by Jennette McCurdy. Even though I read the ebook last year, I was so excited to hear it read from Jennette, and so far, it does not disappoint

What does it mean to shift our ideas of access and care (whether it’s disability, childcare, economic access, or many more) from an individual chore, an unfortunate cost of having an unfortunate body, to a collective responsibility that’s maybe even deeply joyful?
What does it mean for our movements? Our communities? Ourselves and our own lived experience of disability and chronic illness? What does it mean to wrestle with these ideas of softness and strength, vulnerability, pride, asking for help, and not—all of which are so deeply raced and classed and gendered?
If collective access is revolutionary love without charity, how do we learn to love each other? How do we learn to dothis love work of collective care that lifts us instead of abandons us, that grapples with all the deep ways in which care is complicated?
care work: dreaming disability justice, leah lakshmi piepzna-samarasinha

Per the results of the poll, I've started The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet, and as i typically do, I immediately looked up the tag and oh my god.
A book about space travel with a potential found family, the use of neopronouns, and each book in the series is a standalone meaning many different character perspectives and expansive world-building?
Or in other words, everything I could ever want in a book????
