I Shall Not Want - explores Cas' depression as a human, Dean's codependency issues with Sam, actually has great Sam characterization loll
These Are Healing Hands - fic to read if you want to feel rlly good and lovey dovey
HungImpala67 - canon Dean in his 40s makes an OnlyFans and it gives him spiritual healing
There's Only One Sure Thing I Know - great post-season 5 fic, Sam is dead for good, treats Lisa like a real fleshed out human
wrap orion's belt around my neck - Cas inhabits several different vessels throughout the series instead of just Jimmy, babytrapping Dean again, explores destiel in alternate worlds- just really well written
the doorway to a thousand churches - another great Cas centric fic by sonatine
Burying an Angel - Dean actually having to bury Cas in the Ma'lak box- made me cry so hard post-November 5th
Breath - gen fic post-Swan Song, Castiel comes to say goodbye to Dean who is finally dying of old age
I read a lot less nowadays but my go-to authors were 60r3dom, sonatine, domesticadventures, KweenRatMother, and Northern Sparrow ofc.

need more deancas marriage of convenience fics. like yea i love fake married fics (esp the of the case-fic varietyy) and those are fun but i also want to see those two get literally married forreals but for plot reasons and then fall in love / realize they both feel the same way

delving into fic for larger fandoms is always such a gamble for me bc I know it will just be riddled with ooc writing which is quite possibly my biggest ick, especially when it comes to romance (I get that fantasies are a thing but... I like my smut canon compliant lmao what can I say??)
#I am sooooo picky when it comes to fic that way#honestly the writing style/level/length doesn't matter nearly as much as whether the characters actually feel like themselves on some level#I also feel like the kotor fandom has spoiled me that way since it's smaller &older and I feel like we've all got a grasp on the characters#even for newcomers idk I just don't encounter ooc-ness as much??#yet I've backed out of so many bg3 fics the moment certain characters talk or do something bc I just KNOW they would never do that &I just#*sigh*#if anyone has any vetted bg3 fic recs pls send them my way lol#I'm not even picky about ships or themes or anything I just don't want to wade through the poorly tagged readerfic anymore I'm scarred
