#i clicked yes and non smoker#though mayhaps yes and was a smoker but quit might apply ???#idk i never had an addiction. i smoked occasionally for a while there but never had any difficulty going long times without it and never had#any withdrawal symptoms or cravings or whatever#and it was very easy for me to just stop when i felt like i was over that phase lol#i think i bought ONE pack of cigarettes and nursed it for about a year#and i don’t think i ever actually finished it??? like i threw it out with several in it when i decided i was over it#so yeah i never have thought of myself as being a /smoker/#but i have smoked more than once#here’s something they’ll never tell you: cigarettes DO taste good and they DO make you feel cool as fuck#theyre so gross from the outside but from the inside??? yum and fun idk what to tell u#smoking is fun i’m so sorry. but also it’s fun in a way that makes u a disgusting gremlin to everyone else#real monkeys paw situation if i ever seen one

i have a poll request based on a poll that was posted on here probably a few weeks ago by the time this is posted
the poll was about gender neutral public bathrooms, specifically with stalls and some women in the notes were strongly against them, saying they wouldn‘t want to see men’s genitals. and because the poll was specifically about bathrooms with separate stalls it got me wondering:

#yes: when i was in like 6th grade maybe? a first grader had decided to wash her hands without pulling her pants up and was just standing#there buck ass naked from the waist down at the sink. unflinching#so ya know. i went about my business lmfao#to be fair. i’ve also seen at least a few babies’ and toddlers’ genitals in a women’s restroom as well who were not with me#because a lot of places have the changing tables out in the open w no privacy option ¯\_(ツ)_/¯#that all said. i will say that i’ve also been in a gender neutral bathroom at a gay club and NOT seen anyone’s genitals despite there being#both stalls and urinals

the difference between the bats and the arrows is that ollie has more than once snapped his kids out of brainwashing/depression/the morbs by standing there unarmed and telling them to shoot him whereas if bruce tried that with 90% of his kids they would assume it was a 5D chess manipulation tactic and either shoot him immediatly to call his bluff or have an all-out breakdown (or both)

i think i am going to write it anyway, but i think it'd be interesting to hear people's opinions
#okay update in the five minutes since i said all this i went and read all the tags on this post/replies etc and have some more thoughts#namely that there are a couple specific fics and instances i can think of that are entirely OC-focused and about an OC being the main char#of a canon character’s life but i still ADORE those fics#there’s two i’m thinking of that are both whole fic universes too like very long form sagas about basically oc x canon character#in two separate fandoms#so now i think i will add a caveat that generally if i see it it’s something i won’t click on and assume i won’t like#but if it has a good enough description or is by a great author or has a TON of ppl reading and reccing it i likely will read and love it 2

#depends - i don’t read fanfic that has OCs who are like. placed in the center of the plot and the canon cast of characters#like self insert style main character OCs are something i grew out of wanting to read long ago#that said. i REALLY enjoy fics that are from outsider oc POVs??? like that’s a genre of fic that i ADORE#like that one fic about that baker in gotham who makes cakes for all the ‘sorry about your batman crisis’ needs??? love that shit.#or like in the atla fandom i’m always down for fics about how the palace staff view zuko ya know. stuff like that#i guess in general i like ocs when they are plot devices and further the canon characters’ stories or whatever but not when they’re made to#essentially be the focus of the entire plot#idk ever now and then there’s one that’s great i don’t think ocs are bad at all!!! but if an oc is the main character and all the canon#characters interact w them as if that OC is also the main character in THEIR life that’s when i am like nah#it’s not that it’s /bad/ to do that it’s just that i read so many fics like that for so long and then i kind of grew up and now it just#reads as something written for a much younger audience whenever i come across it
