#If a Zora lady gives you armor
astros-turf · 9 months
Text
Hold on. I'm watching the grumps play TotK and they just got the Zora armor from Yona and it just hit me that it was probably on purpose that they got Sidons fiance to give link the armor... Since historically it's used to essentially be like an engagement ring. Botw link gets his armor from mipha who it's pretty strongly implied he was in a relationship with... and now TotK link is getting the armor from the lady going to marry his BFF Sidon. I just think that's a neat piece world building/significant call back.
Also if you're into the poly throuple of link, sidon, and Yona... Then here's some extra canon evidence of Yona including link in her and Sidons marriage lol

I updated my Zora lineup from 2021 with the new TotK characters (and added the AoC guys too while I was at it).
To my knowledge these are all the named NPCs across the three games who use the generic adult male Zora model. I liked the idea of giving them more personality and trying to figure out unique features, all while staying faithful to the model (so no accessories, body modification etc).
female NPCs | elders and kids | unique characters
More details on each character (all 14) under the cut:
Ahrt Secro and Ettu are the merchants that exist only as character portraits, but I decided to count them as individual NPCs regardless. I made an exception in "no accessories" rule for Ahrt Secro here, because of his... unconventional name (and him living in Goponga instead of the Domain); he's justified in not following their fashion standards. Ettu's only character trait iirc is that he dislikes plants. Which make up most of his stock. Rip.
Kayden is the oldest non-elder Zora guy (140ish?), calm, responsible, etc. He's an another accessory exception, with the little belt attachment. He's married and it's the "zora armor" he got from Kodah. I like to imagine that non-royal Zora women also propose with "armor", just bit more budget friendly - a single accessory or a piece of jewelry.
Capelo has basically no personality, his only few lines point to him being older and somewhat responsible. So I put him here and made him... idk, look big and serious.
Bazz! He's perfectly average when it comes to height and looks, but visibly more buff than most Zora guys. Also on the older side.
Rivan's whole thing is being Very Tall and Very Pretty. In my canon he's basically the most handsome guy in the Domain, with his long fins, smooth features and warm brown colored scales.
Ledo is like, the most average guy you've ever seen. He looks younger than he is but has no special features otherwise. Surprisingly level headed. Not very fit (for Zora standards).
Tie is another one of the new undercharacterized TotK guards, his only thing being that he complains about being out of shape. I think I like his design the least, but come on, I had nothing to work with here.
Numien, the only new guy who actually had more than two lines, all of them making him the most annoying prick in my eyes. He's just... too enthusiastic and eager to praise his superiors. I like to imagine Bazz despises him for being such a kissass (Bazz is canonically pretty judgemental) but can't do much about it. The guy is competent enough to be put in charge of the Lookout Landing squad after all. Anyway, I did my best to make him look at least a bit unhinged.
Fronk, the only man in the domain whose eyebags could compete with Bazz's, courtesy of his airhead wife Mei. He's also wearing the "zora armor" she gave him.
Resco wins the prize for least characterization. His only single trait is that he admires Gaddison. That's it. So I made him try to emulate her energy in his lineup pose.
Cleff, the shopkeeper with crab obsession. One of the prettier younger guys, although the crab thing is not working in his favor. The last one of fully adult guys in the lineup (around 90ish).
Gruve is, amusingly, the one sole unemployed Zora guy. His occupation is therefore officially, A Problem. He's very much the tall lanky teenager type.
And Tottika, another tall lanky teenager (70ish), but this time with a job. It's not canon, but he's commonly considered a twin brother of Torfeau and I quite like this idea. He's not the smartest but tries his best.
That's it, thanks for reading if you did! Next up are the ladies, which I have sketched out but not colored yet. Also I'm still pondering if I want to do elders and kids, just for the sake of having all the Zora properly catalogued...

Tides that Bind: Memory Recovery
The first time Link returned to Zora's Domain in Breath of the Wild, all under the cut.
This place was so vaguely familiar, yet Link couldn't quite tell why. Like a hazy, blueish silver memory, someone was…
Link didn’t bother looking at the statue in the middle of the court for too long, being urged by his massive, bright red companion to ascend the stairwell. Every step was followed by whispers, glances that Link was having a little trouble discerning. Casting his own looks around, Link couldn’t shake the mounting feeling that he should be looking for someone specific, other than the Zora who had already introduced himself to the confused Hylian.
“I'm just glad you've returned safely.” There was a second, slightly smaller, slightly darker Zora looking up at Sidon, “So where is this Hylian you found?”
The soft smile on the other red Zora’s face, the way their… her face looked called to something deep in Link’s subconscious. He couldn’t put his finger on why, the swivel of her eyes, the shadows and markings tugged something from the deep recesses of his mind. As he struggled, clutching his head and stumbling over his own feet.
“It isn't just any Hylian Selatoh!” Sidon’s smile widened, “I believe I’ve found Link!”
Turning straight to where Link stood, Selatoh’s excitement was palpable up until the second she laid eyes on him. Concern overwriting her everything as she instantly moved to help him. It was clear that this was Link, but something was wrong. Seriously wrong.
Opening his eyes to a very familiar, very concerned, very close shark-like Zora; Link took half a step back on instinct. Despite the height difference…
“Mipha?” He shook his head, “No, that… I don't know why I want to call you Mipha…”
Selatoh straightened up, “I have been told I look exactly like my late, older sister. But how… its been over 100 years since you last…”
“I'm not entirely sure.” Link frowned, “I just know that I don't remember a lot of things. I'm sorry for…”
Sidon nearly pulled Selatoh back as she latched onto Link’s arm, worried that she would go too far.
“But you recognized something. That means you haven't completely forgotten anything. Perhaps being shown areas you might remember would help recover more of your memories.”
“Selatoh, please be reasonable.” Sidon tugged her gently, “Shouldn't we try to stop Vah Ruta first? If the rain continues for too much longer we might not have a Domain for Link to remember.”
“Bah!” Everyone turned to Muzu as he huffed, “He couldn't even remember what he stole from us and yet you want his help and wish to assist him with a pointless endeavor. Lady Mipha would never-!”
“That's enough Muzu.” King Dorephan raised a large hand, “We can't expect anyone to help without offering help as well. No matter the perceived slights.”
“But your Majesty!”
“No Muzu, you do remember that Mipha had crafted Link armor prior to the Calamity. If you doubt her affections, or Link’s intentions you should give him Mipha's parting gift.”
The reluctance was palpable, though not as strong as the hatred seeping off Muzu as he stomped off. With all eyes on him as he threw a full on temper tantrum. Sidon turned to Selatoh as she stepped toward Link. A tiny spark of tension before…
“He'll get over this, eventually.” Selatoh sighed, “We probably should focus on recovering your memories and stopping Vah Ruta.”
Turning back to Sidon, getting a small nod in return, “Sidon and I can help with either. Though you will need to wear your armor so you can climb waterfalls easily. I doubt either of us can carry you… or any fully grown Hylian for that matter.”

hiii hihi hiii hello this is raurus disembodied right arm speaking
havent responded to the big reblog chain yet. but that headcanon idea sounded neat...uh uh uh uh. idk if you would like to do some champion headcanons but :]
HI!!!!!! thumbs up take ur time always!!! AND SURE :D
i’ll start with urbosa as she was the one i was think abt currently- i like to think she has stuff both from the queen and zelda: like dishes/cutlery + jewelry from the queen and wall mounts with dried and pressed flowers in them + guardian parts and tools. as such i think she hordes but pretends she doesnt. she has molduking parts/guts and has it as a trophy! i would say she’d keep the weapons as trophies from the molduking but 1. she’d have access to better weapons than those and 2. those weapons likely came from travelers who either died or killed the thing, so itd be like shes reveling in someones death if she took the weapons (looking away from the vah naboris war crime incident.) she’d teach mipha how to make creamy hearty soup + it was probably a dish she and the queen shared a lot (especially if she died due to illness!), i think she’d have a garden (partly due to zelda and partly for resources, either flowers for gods/departed loved ones or stuff like food and such.) or like. 1 potted plant., she had Problems with the shield surfing trial and was frustrated about it, possibly dances for fun + has books on different styles of dance from other races or regions, also because of the flower thing i think she prays to farore the most
mipha!! i think she’d be mildly scared of urbosa (mainly due to thhe electricity thing), SHES JACKED. one of her trials has her defeat flying guardians and trying to do waterblight with her weapons is decently hard. so i like to think combat wise shes horrifying, possible a prankster (especially when younger!), lots of opal and topaz jewlery but enjoys . i. i would say rose quartz but im remembering a certain Something, i feel like revali and her would be like siblings without sibling baggage. like theres definitely a mutual friendship but also Violence depending on how you look at it. they will team up however mipha will also cause psychological torment. i think she’d like to use the small zora sword from time to time and practices either with urbosa , revali, or link with it!, collects fish scales :], possibly knows a bit of armor terminology? king dorephan used to have an armour shop but it was removed (this is said in botw by the lady who gives us the trousers). i like to think she’d like to sit at shatterback point. at night either for the stars the glowing domain or naydra if she could see em
revali!!! he keeps a part dinraals horn as a trophy from his trials, possibly under an adult? its a popular hc due to his cheeks which is common for kid rito however kass Also has it! either way though its a neat idea, when you fight windblight having his gear he actually has a feathered edge sword which i like to think means revali ALSO TRAINED AT SWORD FIGHTING. he didnt have the time because he kept practicing archery but he either A. genuinely wanted to fight link and wanted to even the playing field or B wanted to one up link. or C. he decided to pick it up just in case either due to an Incident or to cover his bases. he likes bomb arrows A Lot and also quick draw bows!!!, it’s debatable whether hes good with kids but he Does care for them as he opened up the flight range for them once i believe, i like to think he likes fish pie, guy is absolutely broke compared to the champions, on one hand itd be Cool if he knew about one of the hebra hotsprings however i dont think he’d venture that far out Or take care of himself unless it was Bad bad (theres no honor in suffering!)
daruk!! this one i dont have a lot on,,,,, i think he’d be smarter than he portrays himself (especially with the standing on lava trial) + still try to lighten to mood, i’d like to think he’d try to draw from time to time!, would get embarrassed if people knew he drew from time to time, respects the idea of the dead souls being in luminous stones and does Not eat them, has not pranked anyone yet but he Gladly would. in secret of course, i like to think he’d throw/punt link like how susie throws kris at enemies. he also does this for revali before he can use his gale sometimes, he can skip rocks in lava and is pretty good at that ‘throw the pouch in a wooden board with a hole’ game

theres fuckin. NOBODY HERE. ARE THEY ALL DEAD?
i really like how the shrines in this game teach your skills you'll need soon...it feels better timed than the ones in botw
OH MY GOD IT'S TEBA HE'S FUCKIN ALIVE MARK OFF MY BINGO CARD
teba...new rito elder...tf happened to the old one...oh my god
"everyone i could spare is already researching the blizzard or looking for food" ok so theyre not dead. cool. your children are all starving though

Crucible - Ch 15
Pairing: Link x Reader
Prompt: For the Bittersweet Mini Bang!
Series Warnings (18+ only): Eventual smut, slow burn, violence, mild body horror, lots of whump, angst with a happy ending
Chapter Summary: The Champion's life hangs in the balance, and there's nothing you can do to aid him.
AO3
Tumblr media
You pressed your knuckles against your mouth to keep silent, something bitter and acidic rising in the back of your throat. The disturbing sensation throughout your body was only getting worse, and there was no comfort from the fact that Link was still alive. Not when you so clearly remembered the way he had moments of discomfort and pain emanating from that same hand. Always covered and so secretive that he wouldn’t even share it with the Zora prince.
Something was terribly wrong with the Champion.
Keeping as quiet as you could, you followed after the procession moving with haste down the halls. It wasn’t difficult—they paid more attention to their destination than to their surroundings—but you remained cautious as you sped from one doorway to the next.
You didn’t have to go far; the guards disappeared into another hallway and through a large wooden door. Creeping closer, you kept against the wall as you approached the opening, ears alert for any approaching footsteps. But for now, there were none, and you strained to hear the voices inside.
“Set him here on the bed. Has word been sent to the scientists?”
“Yes,” came the familiar voice of the royal advisor. “Purah and Robbie should be on their way.”
“Good, good. The rest of you may leave.”
“Lady Hannar, what has befallen Master Link—“
“That’s not for you to know,” the first voice snapped. The royal advisor was a bit more diplomatic in her tone to the Captain of the Guard.
“Please, tell no one about his condition. By the princess’ degree, it’s to remain a secret.”
The guards acknowledged their obedience as one, and by the time their footfalls approached the hallway you had already found a new hiding spot between a suit of armor and a wall-length curtain. You didn’t dare peek—curiosity was just as dangerous as clumsiness in these situations—and when the footsteps faded, you stayed where you were. The stone hallways echoed sounds a lot farther than they should, giving you an early warning system. Unfortunately, it meant any sound you made would carry as well.
Ears strained, you listened to the two voices speak Link’s condition, not understanding most of it, only just enough to know that the situation was grim.
“He may be hooked up to the machine as instructed, but I don’t know a damned thing about it. Those scientists better get here soon.”
“They will.” A heavy sigh. “The last time this happened, Link was only unconscious for a few minutes. And these lines right here were much more active. Auntie Purah—sorry, Lady Purah, said it measured the activity state of one’s mind.”
“Well, I don’t need a fancy machine to tell me that that boy’s gone and nearly killed himself. Still might have if his heart doesn’t stabilize.”
“Oh, no, Hannar, please don’t say that.”
“You want the truth, or do you want bliss? You don’t get both, Paya.”
There was a span of silence, and the royal advisor finally said, “The truth. Always the truth. Even if it pains the heart.”
“Wise answer. I see why she chose you.”
The answer the advisor gave was a mixture of embarrassment and pleased surprise. After a parting promise that she would send the princess an update, soft footfalls moved from the room down the hallway. Still, you waited, hoping whoever was still inside would move off, giving you a chance to enter without alerting anyone to your presence.
When you deemed it as safe as it was going to get, you moved quickly to the door and peeked around it, finding a large infirmary room lined with beds and privacy curtains. Aside from the grey stone architecture and the wooden buttresses high above, it wasn’t so different than the Zora healing room.
All of the beds had the curtains pulled back, all except for one. You did a careful sweep one last time before moving silently forward, holding your breath until you reached the white curtains and slipped inside.
Your held breath was released against your will at the sight of the Champion in the healing bed. His face was mired with dirt smudges, dried blood at the corner of his mouth, a large, angry red bruise forming on the side of his jaw. The rest of him didn’t look much better; he was disrobed to his waist, the sheets covering his legs, and his torso was littered in cuts and bruises.
The shoulder where he’d been shot through with an arrow was covered with a white bandage, but more importantly, his right arm up to the bicep enclosed in a thick casing. It was made out of stone but had lights twinkling along its surface, and it was hooked up to some sort of machine with a glowing window.
There was no sign of his caretaker or healer, but there was a basin of water on a small end table next to his head, a clean white cloth folded beside it.
You’re not sure what possessed you to pull up the chair and pull the basin into your lap, nor did you understand why you took the cloth and dipped it into the warm water. Something bubbled up inside you, the familiar molten heat of anger, and you glared down at the Champion as if he could see you beyond his closed eyelids.
You began to rub the dirt and blood off his face, your movements gentle despite the simmering in your veins.
Why? Why did you do it? Why did you put yourself in such senseless danger, you reckless fool?
You dipped the cloth into the basin and rung it out, the water turning pink. You wiped the blood from his lips, your own twisted into a grimace.
We could have ridden to the castle together; there was no reason for you to stay behind. What could you do that a platoon of guards couldn’t? What were you trying to prove, you stupid boy? What good is a dead hero?
When his face was sufficiently clean, you moved to his chest, but your hand froze after the first wipe. You continued on, cleaning his stomach and the side closest to you, and you confirmed what you saw was true over much of his body. Faded white scars lined his golden skin. They weren’t uniform: many of them looked like claw marks, others made with a curved blade, and quite a few large pockmarks that looked to be some kind of burn.
Anger was no longer the reigning emotion as something else pushed its way into your heart. Your eyes burned, your thoughts bitter and coarse.
“Don’t you dare die on me, Champion,” you said hoarsely. “I didn’t travel all this way just to be abandoned by you now. If you can hear me, prove you’re not a coward and wake up!”
Link did not awaken, and his eyes remained closed to you. The only sounds were the soft beeping of the strange machine and his erratic breathing. You frowned, remembering something being said about his heart being unstable.
Again, not knowing what you were doing, you placed the flat of your palm against his chest, right over his heart. His flesh was cool, alarmingly so, and you were unable to sense his heartbeat by touch alone.
Worry clutching at your own heart, you removed your hand and leaned forward, pressing your ear over his left breast, finally catching the staccato rhythm of life that beat there. But it was too faint, too uneven, and your anger was replaced by bone-deep fear.
You were afraid the Hylian was going to die, and worst of all, there was nothing you could do. If you had training or skills in the healing arts, they were locked away along with your memory. There was magic in the world, but you had shown no inclination toward wielding it.
You had nothing to offer him. Nothing to help him or heal him or… or save him…
Squeezing your eyes tightly, you focused on your own breathing and heartbeat, striving to remain calm.
Tha-thump, tha-thump, tha-tha-thump, tha-thump.
Link’s irregular heartbeat sent your own racing, but you forced it to slow and steady. Listening to the soft beats of the machine, you realized they coincided with his pulse. It was a monitoring device of some kind, but your curiosity was stunted when Link’s heart skipped another beat.
Come on, you thought, too stubborn to surrender to the fear even as you were unsure who you were talking to. Focus your breathing, calm your heartbeat.
You focused inward so completely you heard nothing else but the two heartbeats, one slow and uneven, and the other fast and steady. When you focused hard enough, you could almost feel the two rhythms, slowly merging and syncing together until they were eventually one line, beating at a strong, healthy pace.
It took you quite a long time to pull out of the strange meditative state, and when you did, something was different.
Link’s heartbeat, from the machine and under your ear, was even and stable, and as far as you could tell, back to a safe level. You listened for a full minute, verifying what you heard was true and wasn’t only wishful thinking. His pulse continued to beat nearly in time with your own, and even the skin you were touching was radiating with warmth rather than clammy and chilled.
The relief was so palpable, so overwhelming in the knowledge that Link would most likely survive, you didn’t hear the footsteps approaching in time to pull yourself away. So when the mismatched entourage, a group of advisors, guards, and what looked to be the princess herself, entered the healing hall, they found you with your head still pressed to Link’s naked chest.
You were on your feet in an instant, knocking over your chair and spilling the basin onto the floor. Every pair of eyes were on you, the moment frozen and silent for the span of a moment, until the machine began to beep in alarm.
One of the group, a small Sheikah with large glasses, ran to the machine and cried out, “His heart is in distress! Where is that healer! Robbie, help me with the stabilizer!”
The room erupted into chaos, questions being thrown at each other and at you, but before you had a chance to explain anything you were ushered from the room by a pair of guards. You struggled against your captors, dragging your heels and fighting to stay in the room, but you were quickly overpowered and dragged into the hall.
“We’ve been searching for you, Lady Blue,” one of them said. You were unsure if you’d met him before; all the guards looked the same in their grey armor and white tabards. “You will be escorted back to your room.”
“No!” You jerked your arm hard, but it remained fast within an armored glove. “Let me go! What’s happening to him?!”
“There’s nothing more you can do,” a quiet voice interrupted from the doorway. The princess, you assumed, judging by the elaborate tapestries and golden statues you’d seen in Tarrey Town. “We will do what we can for him, but please, return to your quarters and wait there. I have questions for you.”
For such a young Hylian, her expression was quite grave, and her tone held quiet authority. You were a stranger here, perhaps even an unwelcome one, and it was understandable that you didn’t have their trust.
You didn’t much care if they ever gave it to you. All you wanted was…
…was for Link to be all right.
With these confusing thoughts swirling through your mind, you allowed the guards to lead you away, the princess’ gaze on your back.
Once you were ensconced within your quarters, you heard the door latch behind you. There was a platter of fruits and bread on the table nearest the door, and you guessed whatever servant had delivered it had been the one to discover the room empty.
Your appetite was nonexistent, your stomach in tight knots, and you paced the room wall to wall, unable to remain still as your mind raced frantically.
What did it all mean? What was wrong with Link? The monsters had surely taken their toll, but whatever had happened to his hand seemed to be a separate issue, one that left the Hylians and Sheikah flummoxed.
It wasn’t until the sky began to turn pink that you collapsed onto the bed large enough to fit two people comfortably. There was a blue rose patterned canopy hanging above when you opened your eyes. It gave you a sense of enclosure and safety, much like the shrines did.
But unlike the shrines, the Champion would not appear now, finding your hiding place with a soft smile and kind eyes.
Burying your fear, your anger, and even your pride, you prayed to whatever deities would listen that Link would survive the night.

WIP Wednesday
I wrote this last night and really don’t know where I’m going with it because I wrote another section of this that’s completely different from this first part, but I’m having too much fun so this might become a long oneshot or like a two/three chapter short fic eventually. I signed into my Guild Wars account for the first time in forever to watch the chat and apparently Lion’s Arch isn’t as interesting as it used to be. Not that any of that is really relevant.
This is Zelda and the Champions as internet friends playing a MMORPG video game called Hyrule Warriors.
~
Zelda Harkinian loved Fridays. Not that it was a rare thing to be obsessed with the weekend, but she maybe loved it a little too much. After a week of lesson plans, and cleaning the classrooms, and sneezing students, and emails asking for an extension on a paper that wasn’t even due yet, she relished the escape the weekend provided. Granted, she still had to grade about a hundred tests, but that was a problem for Sunday or even Monday.
Smiling down at her roommate, a kitten she’d raised when she found it in the street all alone, Zelda fed her girl—whom she’d named Duchess because she had every intent of treating her like royalty—and played with her for a bit before throwing down her bag in her room and then grabbed a water and a granola bar before heading to her desk. She flipped her laptop open and booting up Hyrule Warriors, her favorite open world MMORPG.
Her internet sucked, so she grabbed her phone to aimlessly scroll to see if there was any news or updates. But it was pretty dull.
Instead, she thought back to how this whole weekend ritual began.
She’d been in a cavern just off of Death Mountain for about three days killing fire keese, lizalfos, and beamos. As a mage, her AOE skills made short work of the larger groups, hitting them all at once. It was especially useful here because her main specialties were water and light, but she struggled when boss fights came out. The NPCs weren’t great teammates, and she constantly found herself resurrecting far from the boss, only to make a long run with a health penalty that ended with her getting killed again, until her heath penalty was maxed out and she had to restart for any hope of succeeding. As a mage, her light armor made her vulnerable to physical attacks, and this boss was very physical.
Zelda didn’t like interacting with people in this game. It was massively popular, and the chat was always running. Sometimes, she’d just sit at an outpost and watch people talk. Her favorite interactions were often the random ones. She’d begun to look up the acronyms everyone used in chat just to understand them better. WTS= want to sell.
Indigo2421: WTS: Guardian Short Sword 4k rupees
Indigo2421WTS: Guardian Short Sword 4k rupees
Indigo2421WTS: Guardian Short Sword 4k rupees
Britneigh4Horses: WTS My mother. 1 rupee. Will pay postage fee.
But after her days of suffering in the lonely caverns in Death Mountain, she relented.
A quick search had her hands shaking, but she typed quickly so she couldn’t back out after she’d hit enter.
xPrincessZx: LFG Dodongo’s Cavern
Holding her breath, she’d waited in the hopes of a private message being sent to her.
One did.
(PM): ThunderstruckQueen: What missin are doing there?
(PM): ThunderstruckQueen: Mission*
(PM): xPrincessZx: I have to kill the Dodongo boss for the main story
ThunderstruckQueen would like to join your party.
Biting her nails, she’d accepted.
(PM): RockRoast12345: Still need someone?
(PM): xPrincessZx: Yes! That would be great! Thanks!
RockRoast12345 would like to join your party.
That had been how it started: A goron warrior with a Warhammer and some serious defensive moves joined as the tank to take as much damage for the team as he could stand, and a Gerudo Paladin had joined her party. Zelda was jealous of the purchase-only red hairstyle the Gerudo had for her character. She had a sword and shield, but her body flickered with elemental lightening magic. In-game purchase effects.
They’d defeated Dodongo with ease, and had gone on several missions together that day, taking down their storylines with relative ease. But they couldn’t function with the NPC healer who barely functioned at all.
So, ThunderstruckQueen had taken to the map chat and put out a request.
ThunderstruckQueen: I found someone. She’s a Zora Cleric. Level 40
RockRoast12345: Let her in! I want to get this one over with
Rutella Zoran IV would like to join your party.
After that, the four of them realized they worked so well together that they’d formed a guild. The Champions. ThunderstruckQueen paid the guild fee, bought a hall, and began decorating it with merchants, and chests. Zelda still shuddered, wondering what she did to have so many rupees ready to go. Needless to say, she made herself the leader.
Some days, they didn’t play together. Other times, only two of them were on. But on weekends, they all came together.
But it had been a Monday when Zelda played, and she’d been alone. Having already tossed her tissue box across her room in frustration, she debated making a new character with more defense, but she sucked it up and went into the Castle Town map, ready to ask for help. She couldn’t wait until she could get to be a higher level. As it was, she’d only gotten to these level 40 areas as a 32 because of Rutella.
Suddenly, a random Hylian man in green with a fancy sword and shield ran up to her and bowed. Zelda scoffed at her computer screen, unsure if she was supposed to respond.
She didn’t need to.
(PM): WildKnightOut2: Hey Princess
(PM): xPrincessZx: Hello?
(PM): WildKnightOut2: Jst wondering if u have a spare flower crown from yesterday’s festival. Missed it. Will pay
Zelda pulled up her inventory, forgetting she was still wearing her flower crown from the Flower Fest. It must have been what tipped him off. In fact, she had four spares.
(PM): zPrincessZx:  Yeah, I do. Come to the chest and I’ll trade.
(PM): WildKnightOut2: Thx
She’d never done a trade with anyone who wasn’t in her guild, so she’d felt nervous running to grab it.
(PM): WildKnightOut2: How much u want?
(PM): xPrincessZx: Actually, I’ll give it to you free if you’re willing to help me with a quest? Or 10k.
WildKnightOut2 would like to join your party.
She accepted and watched his character appear in the corner of her screen.
WildKnightOut2: That’s a rip off, btw. Crowns are with 15k at least. Don’t undersell
xPrincessZx: Thanks. I didn’t realize. I’m still kind of new.
WildKnightOut2: Howd u get out here then?
xPrincessZx: I had a run from a friend in my guild.
WildKnightOut2: Got room for a warrior in there?
Zelda introduced him to the other Champions when they’d signed back on, and after a few weeks, Zelda had leveled up enough that she didn’t need to constantly rely on a teammate. But still. She liked Wild the best after ThunderstruckQueen.
They’d brought in a Rito Ranger named TheBestYouveNeverMet, which immediately set Wild off.
(PM): WildKnightOut2: should I aggro a group over so he has to fight them for us?
(PM): xPrincessZx: No! Don’t do that! I’ll get sent over to deal with them!
(PM): xPrincessZx: HEY! I SEE YOU ON THE MAP!
(PM): xPrincessZx: WILD GET BACK TO THE GROUP
On the mini-map, she saw a hoard of red coming at them and rolled her eyes before joining TheBest to kill them with area attacks. Rutella stayed back to heal them, but Thunder and Rock both continued on, unfazed.
ThunderstruckQueen: Wild you’re an idiot
But that was then. This was now.
They’d been together for months as a guild, and now, the six of them knew how the others worked.
If Wild or TheBest took off on their own, no one would follow. They’d both been killed numerous times in an attempt to piss the other off. Zelda had learned to stay with Thunder and Rock. Rutella flitted between running back to revive the idiots, or sticking with the smarter members while letting them heal on their own.
(PM): WildKnightOut2: u wound me
Zelda chuckled, but he wasn’t done.
(PM): WildKnightOut2: After all ive done for u
(PM): WildKnightOut2: u leave me to die
(PM): xPrincessZx: Don’t run off next time
It was a Wednesday when she and Wild were playing alone, so they freely used party chat for ease. She’d surpassed his level, and towered as a 93 while he was an 87.
WildKnightOut2: Hang on. Fuzzball wants food
Zelda stared at his character on her screen, wondering if he looked anything like that avatar. Blonde hair, muscular, piercing blue eyes. She’d made her character look like herself, so it wasn’t hard to imagine others had. Plus, he was the only Hylian. She highly doubted that RockRoast12345 was actually a giant rock-man, or that Rutella Zoran IV was a short fish lady.
She knew everything about these people except their names, faces, and voices.
She knew that ThunderstruckQueen was a single mother who called her daughter Ri on chat. She was a chief of police, and had a few hundred of her force to look out for. Still, she wanted to quit soon to join the military reserve forces now that her daughter was getting older. Devoted and loyal, Thunder occasionally snapped when everyone would start fighting with each other, though it was usually directed at TheBest and Wild, the annoyance sometimes extended out to others.
She knew that RockRoast12345 was older than all of them and had a young grandson. He’d bonded with Thunder over their children at first, and then, without meaning to, they became the parents of the group. Recently, Rock had retired from working as a supervisor in a mine, and gaming had become his way of relieving some of that boredom. But he told the best stories when they were idling around, just stories about anything, and they were always captivating. Also, he was afraid of dogs.
She knew that Rutella Zoran IV was the daughter of a politician. She cared for her little brother like he was her own, and sometimes, he took control of her character, proudly revealing that his real name was Sidon. She was in school to be a doctor, and that made her family prouder than anything. She lived and breathed for her family.
TheBestYouveNeverMet was a pilot. His schedule was the most hectic out of everyone’s because of the flights, but he was sarcastic to the core, and sometimes, the sarcasm was simply rude and definitely didn’t translate well over chat. He was superior, and since he’d been playing the game longest, he thought it entitled him to make more decisions. But Zelda knew from her private conversations with him that deep down, he was sweet and caring. He’d always be the first to ask her how her day was, and he’d learned some of her students’ names to ask if they’d been nuisances.
But Zelda spent the most time talking to WildKnightOut2, so she knew the most about him. At first, they’d bonded over the fact that they both had cats. His was called Fuzzball, an orange, fat cat that needed to exercise more. He’d tried to leash him, but Fuzz wasn’t interested. Sometimes, Fuzz would crawl over the keys, send Wild running, and send chat a long stream of letters.
He was funny and made comments in her private chat while they were playing that had her roaring at times.
He was a rock-climbing instructor and in his free time, he was a free solo climber. When she’d looked it up, she’d been horrified to see that he basically climbed mountains without a harness or ropes, and a fall could kill him. She’d asked if he was good at it, or just did it for fun, and his answer had been an ambiguous “yes.”
She knew about his family. He didn’t live near them, but he kept in contact with his grandparents, his father, and his little sister.
WildKnightOut2: k back. Where we going princess?
xPrincessZx: I need to farm for new armor out in the Haunted Wasteland. Do you need to do anything?
WildKnightOut2: I need to help u farm in the haunted wasteland. What do you need?
xPrincessZx: 10 Rubies
WildKnightOut2: damn ok I have 2 u can have so u only need 8
xPrincessZx: Thanks. How’d that party go last night?
WildKnightOut2: Sucked
xPrincessZx: Cool details
WildKnightOut2: If ud been there, ud have hated it
xPrincessZx: Why?
WildKnightOut2: Bunch of self-absorbed idiots. Like TheBest is
xPrincessZx: Lol. He’s not that bad.
WildKnightOut2: if u say so
They headed into the Wasteland looking for red poes that had rare drops for rubies. She and Wild took out a few groups before they started to struggle. Neither could play and talk at the same time fast enough to warn the other that something was happening, and they both ended up at the shrine of resurrection more times than they cared to admit.
xPrincessZx: Hey Wild. This might sound weird, but do you have that gaming app where we could just maybe voice chat?
xPrincessZx: Unless you’re not comfortable with that. We can invite the others, and when we play together, and it would probably make life a thousand times easier
xPrincessZx: But it’s okay if you don’t want to
WildKnightOut2: yeah I have it
Oh, Zelda thought to herself. That was easy.
xPrincessZx: Do you want to add me? I have the same name
She watched her phone like it was food in the microwave, only occasionally glancing at her computer to see if Wild had sent her another message. She drummed her fingers and her leg started to bounce until her screen lit up.
WildKnight has sent you a friend request.
She hastily hit accept and grabbed her headphones from the drawer before typing into her phone.
xPrincessZx: Your name is missing a few things here.
WildKnight: Yeah HW already had someone with this name so I added on
xPrincessZx: The meaning completely changes
WildKnight: which do you like better?
Zelda froze, unable to make her fingers type. Was he flirting? Was that how people flirted online? She was really good at reading body language cues, and that was always how she knew someone was flirting. But this? There was no context! How was she supposed to know?
xPrincessZx: Which fits your personality more?
That was a safe way of getting out of answering while still sounding maybe like she was flirting. Right?
WildKnight: this one
Zelda’s face warmed up and she put her head in her hands, unsure how to respond. How does she respond to that? What if he wasn’t flirting? What if he was.

Hello, sweet Yiga Scribe <3 I don't know if you're still doing "comfort" requests, but certain things in my life have caused me heartache today, so I could use some Sooga comforting a sad Kohga if you're up for it <3
Hey anon, I got you, totally. Sorry this didn't get to you the day you wanted it :(
Sooga knew when his Master was upset. He knew it, based on the fact that he allowed no one in or out of his room. And this time, he knew why. Him and Mipha got into quite the fight a few days ago, and she refused to talk to him. What was the fight about? He couldn't tell you. Just that it ended terribly, and Kohga had been moping ever since. Sooga decided, however, that today, he'd do something about it. He grabbed some snacks from the kitchen, before approaching his Master's door, and knocking.
"Master Kohga. I brought you lunch."
"I don't want it. Go away."
"At least let me give you tea. I know you haven't been drinking. You know I'll break through this door if I must."
"...fine. Come in."
Sooga came in, shutting the door behind him. Kohga was a mess, sprawled over his bed, limp and sad. Sooga poured the tea into the cup, put it on a plate, and after adding some cookies to the plate as well, he walked towards Kohga.
"Master Kohga. Please, get up from your covers."
"Don't wanna."
"Kohga."
Kohga knew better than to refuse Sooga when his tone was so firm. He groaned as he got up, slumped over.
"Fine. Gimme."
Kohga took his drink, but not as happily as one usually would. He sat, he sipped, all in sadness. Sooga sat down next to him, merely getting Kohga used to his presence. He had been in this room for days, afterall.
"Would you...like to talk about it?"
"It's just. Mipha is in such denial! She said she doesn't CARE about getting married, but she does! She's being SO complacent with me, just to avoid an argument, and we had one anyway!"
Sooga nodded, ever the attentive listener. Kohga stuffed a cookie in his mouth in anger, and Sooga took it upon himself to speak.
"Mipha isn't a confrontational woman. She's too kind in the heart, people tread on her. Exactly...where did this come from?"
"I went with Mipha for support, on her way to give Link the Zora armor she made him. Then, when we go to his house, some lady is hitting on him. HE'S not into it, you can tell, but bam, Mipha loses ALL confidence! You know what she does?"
"Do tell."
Sooga ALWAYS made his ears open for him. His tongue remained still, and he grabbed Kohga's tea. He was so deep into this, he was using both of his hands as he talked, forgetting he was holding anything. It happened quite often.
"She turns tail and leaves! So I try to stop her, grab the damn outfit right from her hands. She has the NERVE to yell at me that she doesn't care about getting married, so it was fine. So...I called her bluff."
"I think I know what you did, Master Kohga."
Kohga's anger melted to shame. He sighed, hiding his face as he shook his head.
"Yeah. I tore it. She called me a terrible person, and ran off before I could catch up to her. Tried to go to the domain- the guards wouldn't let me in! I can't believe she'd treat me like that for making a point! I was right!"
"You're upset at yourself because you know you did wrong."
Sooga set the tea aside as Kohga glared at him.
"I was NOT wrong! I-"
"Your heart was in the proper place. Your actions weren't. You feel confused, because you truly meant well, and yet. You feel guilty. You don't know how to feel. You just know you're sad. And you don't like being sad."
Kohga wanted to say something, he really did. But Sooga knew he was right. Kohga rubbed his tears from underneath his mask, and Sooga could no longer help himself. He wrapped his arms around Kohga, holding him to his chest.
"I...hate you Sooga."
"You hate your feelings. And I love you. Please, take your moment to cry. I will be here for you."
Kohga sat there, silently crying. He knew his Master felt silly, crying over a fight. But it just meant he truly loved, and that was why Sooga loved him so. He let Kohga cry till there were no more tears, and when he had nothing left, he lifted his chin up to look at him, holding his face tenderly.
"Now. How about we try to call Mipha, and tell her sorry. She's your friend, she deserves it, does she not?"
"...yeah. She does."
Sooga sat there out of view as Kohga used his slate, and called Mipha. She picked up this time, looking unsure upon seeing his face.
"Kohga. Uhm. Hello."
"Hey. Mipha. Listen I uh...I wanted to-"
"I WANTED TO SAY SORRY."
She cried out, interrupting him. Kohga cocked his head to the side.
"I...what?"
"I'm sorry. Link saw the whole thing and followed me afterwards. He...made me realize I was in the wrong. In my self consciousness, I thought Link would somehow not want me. And...I fixed the suit. Because he wanted to properly say yes."
"ARE YOU SERIOUS?!"
Mipha nodded, the faintest smile on her lips.
"Yes. He...agreed to my proposal. Sidon is happy, Link is happy. But. I wasn't. Because my best friend wasn't here to celebrate with me. I wanted to respond to your messages but...oh Kohga, you had no right for my outburst."
"UP up up, I'M apologizing. YOU needed my support, I was too hard on you. I was confused on my feelings and-"
"Sooga talked to you, didn't he?"
Kohga pushed him more out of his frame, using his foot to push him by his chest, scolding him for his dumb smile.
"No? I swear I'm good with my feelings and shit. Look, I'm sorry. You're sorry. How about we keep it at that? I miss one of my best friends."
"I'd...like that. I'd like that very much, Kohga. How about we catch up this weekend, over some cake tasting?"
"Absolutely. You better be ready for a hug, little red."
After they said their good byes, Sooga waited there, clearly expecting some kind of response. Kohga groaned, folding his arms over his chest and avoiding his gaze.
"Alright. You were...helpful. Thank you. I...don't think I could've done that by myself."
"I will remain by your side and help you whenever you need me. I don't...suppose there's room for another at the cake tasting?"
"Ugh. You absolute puppy. Yes, you can come."
"I love you."
"...yeah. I love you too. Moron~"
Seeing his smile after such days of sadness, was like watching the sun tear through storm clouds. Sooga would do anything for that smile, honestly and truly.

Hello everyone! I have written a version of the Champions’ Ballad but with a Miphvali twist. I hope you enjoy this version of the Champions’ Ballad!
Today was a day of celebration, a day of hope for all of Hyrule as those who had been chosen to defend the kingdom against Calamity Ganon would be gathering to be honored by the King himself.
He had summoned the four Chosen Ones to officially appoint them not only as the Champions of Hyrule but also publicly recognize them as the pilots of the four Divine Beasts.
It was a show of triumph and that even against their greatest enemy, they would prevail and win the war.
At least, that’s what was written in the summons that the Royal Messengers had delivered to Revali, Mipha, Urbosa, and Daruk all across the land.
Mipha, Urbosa, and Daruk had accepted the summons graciously and immediately began making preparations to travel to Central Hyrule for the inauguration ceremony.
Revali, however, had rolled his eyes and dismissed the Messenger with a halfhearted promise he would attend.
Which was true, he would attend, though he wasn’t exactly thrilled to be presented and paraded like a trophy in front of so many, especially to a King who he barely felt loyalty to, and when he could be training instead.
Nevertheless, Revali had soon finished packing what sparse materials he would need for traveling to survive this short trip, triple-checked there were enough arrows in his quiver, and flew off from his peaceful home in the mountains towards Central Hyrule, with a small group of Rito Warriors in tow to represent the village alongside him.
It had taken only about half the day for Revali to reach Hyrule Castle with only a few breaks from flying to eat to regain energy while resting his wings.
The area around it was mainly flat open plains with some forests, as well as scattered Hylian settlements and stables.
However, the roads that snaked throughout the entirety of the region were packed with travelers, either on foot or by cart, though Revali felt he would be ill just by the sheer amount of people there were.
He could also see those from other races arriving as well as he approached Hyrule Castle.
Gorons were rolling in from the direction of Death Mountain and Eldin, with Daruk in the lead standing out with his rather large beard and boisterous laughter.
The Gerudo arrived on horseback from what Revali could assume was the direction of the desert, Urbosa riding in front, the spokes of her golden headdress sparkling in the sun, signifying her position as Chief of the Gerudo.
Finally, there were the Zora, arriving from the waters of the rivers surrounding Central Hyrule, and even though Revali had sharp eyesight, he could still barely make out Mipha standing tall, her elaborate jewelry shining in the sunlight as she led her people to Hyrule Castle.
It had seemed that the other three had been chosen and invited to the Castle as well, though it did not surprise Revali in the least. He had suspected for some time now that the King would do something to honor them as Pilots of the Divine Beasts, but this whole gathering was certainly over the top from what he could tell.
Mipha looked above from where she was walking to see Revali and a small group of Rito following behind them, though she could recognize him anywhere with his navy blue plumage. It stood out quite nicely from the more muted browns of his countrymen against the clear pale blue sky.
She thought back to her home, Zora’s Domain, where her father and younger brother had decided to stay behind to keep watch over the Domain, instead sending along a small entourage of Zora to accompany her to Hyrule Castle.
How she missed Sidon’s chubby red cheeks and the way he wandered about, his head-tail that was much too long for his small body trailing behind him.
She giggled at the thought of her little brother trying to figure out where she had gone, as she had come to find out that whenever she was away he ran around the Domain asking anyone who would listen where his big sister had gone.
Of course, any Zora would listen to their baby Prince, even if he hadn’t been royalty, and would stall him long enough so that a Guard could come to retrieve him and take him back to King Dorephan.
While it pained Mipha to be away from home for so long so often, it was necessary to ensure the safety of her people by working together with the Pilots to drive back Calamity Ganon’s forces, though her true duty had yet to be fulfilled.
“Good afternoon, Princess.”
Mipha looked up to see that Revali and the Rito accompanying him had landed next to the Zora marching in place and joined in with them.
Revali fell into step beside her, his armor reflecting the sunlight much like Mipha’s jewelry was, though her jewelry sent little beams of light across the grass.
“Oh, Revali, how lovely to see you again! I trust that your journey went well?” Mipha asked, and Revali shrugged nonchalantly as though journeying halfway across the kingdom was a breeze for him.
She supposed it most likely was a breeze for him, as he could fly through the sky instead of traveling by foot like the Gerudo or the Gorons had done.
“Oh, it was quite uneventful, nothing much occurred besides perhaps being shot at by a few Bokoblins, but nothing major.” He said airily, though the way his tone sounded so confident meant that Mipha couldn’t help but believe him.
“That is wonderful! We luckily did not have many problems either, though the amount of monsters we have had attack the Domain is becoming quite worrisome. I do hope my people will be alright whilst I’m here.”
The atmosphere suddenly felt quite gloomy, though Revali could understand her worry. He had believed Rito Village was under attack once again when they had first met, after all.
“Have some faith in your warriors, Princess. I am sure they will protect your home well. That is why they were chosen, correct?” He asked, and Mipha nodded, though it did little to ease her worry.
“I will try. I can only hope the Princess will allow us to return home for a few days before we are sent out on our next mission.” She said wistfully, and Revali could sense that she missed being home very much, which he could relate to. He was never home much to begin with, but leaving his Flight Range hurt every time he did so.
The two continued to walk in silence after that, the only sounds were the murmurs of conversation between the Zora and the Rito amongst themselves, and the march of their feet against the ground.
They soon arrived at the metal gates of Hyrule Castle, the sunlight reflecting off the glass and iron that made up the two large doors.
Two guards stood at attention, though by the looks of it they were low-ranking as they wore the standard Royal Knight armor.
Mipha couldn’t help but feel sorry for them. The armor was made from heavy yet defensive metals and the helmets they wore were much too large to the point where they could not see very well or move around as nimbly as they should have been able to.
Revali felt much the same way, though based on what the Princess had told them, these guards were meant more for charging through enemy ranks with brute force than actual strategic combat, so their armor was much appropriate than what the King’s Personal Guards wore.
“Halt! State your names and titles!” The taller of the two guards ordered, causing Mipha and Revali to glance at each other before Mipha politely cleared her throat.
“I am Lady Mipha of the Zora, a member of the Zora Royal Family and Pilot of the Divine Beast Vah Ruta.” She said confidently, giving Revali the feeling that she had gone through this process many times before, though he straightened his back and puffed out his chest proudly.
“I am Master Revali of the Rito, Chief Commander of the Rito Guard and Pilot of the Divine Beast Vah Medoh.” He declared, causing Mipha to giggle daintily as she pressed a hand to her mouth to stifle it, though the guards just seemed confused, but shrugged it off as they saluted to the both of them.
“Welcome to Hyrule Castle, Lady Mipha and Master Revali! Her Majesty is awaiting your arrival in the Sanctum! Open the gates!” The taller guard shouted, and the large metal doors began to slowly open in front of the two, revealing the long, winding stone path in front of them that led to the Castle.
Both the Zora and the Rito glanced at one another as Mipha and Revali began their trek up the stone pathway, and all of them were quite relieved that the large structure of Hyrule Castle blocked the majority of the sunlight that fell upon Central Hyrule.
After a long while, the group finally made out to the Sanctum, all tired out from the long walk, though Revali was also slightly irritated.
At the entrance, Zelda could be seen standing with Link, Urbosa, and Daruk, all having arrived sometime before, though Mipha and Revali noticed the different clothing on all of them.
They had, of course, seen Zelda in her Royal Gown before, as she wore it most days when in the castle. However, the other three had entirely different outfits.
In place of Urbosa’s traditional Chief skirt, she wore a blue skirt with the Vah Naboris emblem, with two decorated belts crossed over one another at the waist, the cloth fastened by a golden clasp with the Gerudo emblem. She had taken off her headdress as well.
One of Daruk’s chains that had crossed over his body was replaced with a blue scarf with Vah Rudania emblazoned on the cloth with white trim at the borders.
Link’s outfit had changed the most drastically, completely abandoning his Hylian Knight armor in favor of beige pants, brown boots, and a blue tunic that matched with Urbosa’s and Daruk’s scarves, and Zelda held two more blue pieces of cloth in her hands.
“Oh, Revali, Mipha, I am so glad you have made it! I apologize for the long walk up here, Urbosa and Daruk were complaining about the same thing when they arrived just a few minutes before. Will you be alright?” She asked, and though Revali wanted to snap at her, her concerned look and the shadows beneath her eyes calmed him down. It wasn’t her fault her home was so large.
“It was no fault of yours, Princess. I would have flown here but I do not trust your guards enough to not blow us out of the sky. Now, what is with all of this blue clothing?” He asked, Zelda breaking into a grim as she held out a scarf to both Mipha and Revali.
“I discovered in ancient texts about the Pilots of the Divine Beasts from 10,000 years that they wore something that signified their bond with their Divine Beast and with one another. As we all serve together for the good of our kingdom, I created these four scarves and Link’s tunic for you all to wear. Perhaps you can wear it for the ceremony?”
The two took their scarves, though Mipha smiled happily when she noticed the Vah Ruta emblem displayed on the cloth, the fabric feeling quite fine in her hands.
“It is lovely, Princess. Thank you. I suppose it is a good thing I decided to wear my special occasion jewelry instead of my royal jewelry. It will go quite nicely with the blue.” She said, fingering the tassels hanging around her neck and sash around her body.
Revali turned the scarf over to see Vah Medoh pictured, a small smile on his face when seeing his trusted mechanical companion. It was as if he could hear its call from Tabantha.
“I agree. You clearly put much effort into this, and I shall wear it proudly. Thank you.”
Everyone looked at him with a surprised look, though he didn’t notice as he examined the scarf more closely.
“Princess, would it be possible for us to change somewhere? I would feel a bit uncomfortable taking off my jewelry and sash in front of all of you.” Mipha asked suddenly, though everyone had to resist the urge to tell her she was basically naked all of the time anyway, though to a Zora it was more practical to be adorned with jewelry than actual clothing.
“Oh, um, you can change behind the pillar over there. No one should be able to see you.” Zelda said as she gestured to the aforementioned pillar. Mipha nodded her thanks and darted behind the stone, careful that she was out of sight.
“Well, I never would have expected to see the both of you showing up together. Did something happen?”
Revali glanced over to see Urbosa smirking at him, her arms crossed under her chest as she looked at him knowingly, giving off an aura of...smugness? That was all he could tell.
“We happened to arrive at the same time to the path before the gate. How did you and Daruk get past us? You were both arriving at the same time we were.” He asked, and Urbosa shrugged.
“Guess you’ll never find out. However, I think you should put on your scarf before the rest of the kingdom arrives, don’t you think?”
Revali grumbled as he wrapped the scarf around his neck, though something he realized was that it was a bit shorter than his beige one, and the Medoh Emblem was positioned in such a way that a more intricate way of wearing the scarf was needed.
Tying a knot would not be difficult under normal circumstances, but as he was tying the knot with a cloth around his neck without a mirror, he couldn’t quite see what he was doing.
“Princess, could you explain why you decided not to give us these garments until we arrived?” He demanded, glaring pointedly at Zelda who could only smile sympathetically in response.
“I apologize, I did not realize that tying your scarf around your neck may have given you a bit of trouble. Perhaps you could allow someone to tie it for you, just this once?” She suggested, but before Revali could respond he heard the soft pad of someone’s feet behind him and turned to see Mipha walking out from behind the pillar she had changed behind.
Suddenly, it felt as if it had become quite difficult for Revali to breathe when he saw Mipha wearing her scarf for the first time.
Her blue scarf had been tied around the front of her torso, held up by a sapphire brooch, the other half of the blue fabric draping over her shoulder against her back. The silver collar around her neck had three small teardrop gems hanging from it, with a second longer one sitting below it, crossing just over her chest.
Her silver belt was still adorned with the same jewels, though her head jewelry had changed so the small gem that once lay on her forehead was gone.
Revali had learned from spending time around Zelda, Mipha, and Urbosa that women who were held in high esteem, such as royalty or as a chief chosen to use a headpiece with a gem inlaid where the wearer’s forehead would be, though why he did not know.
“Uh, Revali? You okay?”
He snapped back to reality to see everyone staring at him worriedly. Well, everyone except Urbosa, who just smiled at him with that oh so infuriating smug expression.
“I’m fine, stop staring at me.” He snapped, everyone turning away except for Mipha, as she reached out to gently take ahold of the scarf around his neck.
“Here, allow me.”
She then began to tie the scarf into a simple knot, though on the outside it looked quite intricate, simple but beautiful.
Her webbed fingers brushed against the metal of his breastplate as she worked, everyone staring at her in wonder while Revali was doing his best not to explode from the close contact. Close contact from her of all people.
“There, that should do it. What do you think?” Mipha asked, stepping back to admire her handiwork, taking all of Revali’s willpower to not pull her back towards him.
“What is wrong with me? I am having such strange thoughts about her, and for what?” He thought to himself, though realizing Mipha was still waiting for a response, he decided to place that train of thought on hold for now.
“It looks wonderful. Thank you, Princess.” He said with a small smile, causing Mipha to beam with pride, the most adorable thing Revali had ever seen.
“It was no problem, Revali. I am glad I was able to assist with your predicament.”
Mipha then went to speak with Zelda about something, presumably where to place her sash that she was holding in her hands to not distract from the ceremony.
“You okay, Revali?”
Revali felt a rather large hand land on his shoulder, as well the low, gravelly voice of its owner, meaning that it was Daruk.
Sure enough, when he turned around to see who it was, it was indeed his Goron teammate, a rather concerned look on his face as Revali grumbled.
“I’m fine. Honestly, why must you all assume I’m not alright for when I don’t speak for an extended moment?”
“Because you are always talking about something. When you’re silent, that’s usually a red flag.”
The two looked up to see that Urbosa had joined them, standing beside Daruk as she left Mipha, Link, and Zelda to speak to one another instead.
“Ugh, what do you want? And I don’t talk all the time.” He grumbled, Urbosa laughing heartily as she placed a hand on her hip, her expression turning serious.
“I’m here because it is quite obvious there is something going on between you and Mipha, and as I am trying to keep the peace of the group so we don’t stress out the princess, you’re going to need to tell me what exactly it is.” She said calmly, making Revali feel as if a parental figure was talking down to him, which he did not appreciate.
“You do not need to speak to me like I am a child, I am fine. Nothing is going on between Mipha and me, I barely know her!” Revali yelled, glaring at Urbosa, though she merely shrugged as she received a questioning look from Zelda, as well as a gesture towards the Sanctum.
“Perhaps we can continue this conversation at a later time. The ceremony is due to start soon, let us head into the Sanctum.”
Urbosa and Daruk walked to join the others, leaving Revali alone as he reluctantly followed them into the rather extravagant chamber.
The Sanctum of Hyrule Castle was where the King and Queen of Hyrule, or rather the King and Princess as the Queen had been gone for over a decade, would make their public appearances with the rest of the kingdom.
The room was circular, with two staircases alongside the back wall that to the King and Queen’s Thrones, where King Rhoam could be seen standing. Lush red carpeting lined the floor, and where there wasn’t carpet was carved stone that matched those that made up the walls, with banners hanging that displayed the Royal Family insignia, the Triforce.
Windows scattered around the chamber allowed in sunlight, though if there hadn’t been a few lanterns to illuminate the room, the Sanctum would have been much darker.
The Zora, Gerudo, Rito, Gorons, and Hylians that had all accompanied each Champion were gathered at the different angles of the room, each leader holding a banner displaying each of their respective emblems.
Revali took his place at the front of the Rito, glancing over to see Mipha hurriedly walking towards her fellow Zora, and he couldn’t help but think that the sunlight reflecting off her jewelry made her look extra beautiful.
“Get ahold of yourself, you’re not here to drool over a Zora whom you barely know.” He thought, though his attention snapped back to the front when King Rhoam cleared his throat, a bit too loud to be on accident. He began what sounded quite obviously to be a prepared speech, though Revali had come to expect that of Hylian royalty. Only Zelda seemed to put true heart into what she had to say.
“Welcome warriors! I’d like to thank you for joining me here today, and for your bravery in accepting this...fateful task. I officially appoint you Hyrule’s Champions, and bestow upon you this sacred garb. That blue is a symbol of the royal family, one that has been passed down for countless generations. Those garments you now wear were all crafted by my daughter, Zelda.”
King Rhoam paused for a moment, his once sweeping gaze landing squarely on his daughter standing in the middle of the Sanctum. Anyone who could see her could notice how nervous she was, the way her fists were slightly clenched as well her almost shaking form. However, she managed a nod in response, remembering the rule of any royal: Do not speak to the king during an address to the public.
“Zelda, I trust you with the task only a daughter of the Royal Family can fulfill. Lead our Champions, Princess. And together, protect our kingdom from the threat of Calamity Ganon!” The King proclaimed, spreading his arms wide as he finished his decree.
Almost everyone in the room cheered, Daruk included, while the rest of the Champions clapped politely and Zelda breathed a large sigh of relief.
She had done it. She had made it through the ceremony without a hitch, she could almost jump in excitement, though she knew a stern look would be directed at her if she had done so.
The Champions surrounded her as King Rhoam left the Sanctum, as well as all of the representatives for each Champion, until the only people who were left were the six of them.
“Well, I’d say that went well, don’t you think, Urbosa?” Daruk asked, and the Gerudo nodded as she patted Zelda on the back, a proud smile upon her face.
“Yes, you did splendid, Little Bird. I’m so proud of you.” Urbosa said to the Princess, and Zelda smiled, tears welling up in her eyes as she looked at the five of them surrounding her.
“No, thank you! It is because of the five of you that Hyrule stands a chance against the greatest threat our kingdom has ever seen, I truly will never be able to thank you enough. Come, I have somewhere to show you.” She said, gesturing for everyone to follow, though Revali lingered for a moment.
“Princess, I may have to return home soon, training and preparations must be done to ensure we will succeed in our battle against Ganon, as you have mentioned before. Perhaps I should go-“
“No, you are not going anywhere.”
Revali looked to see Urbosa glaring at him with a stern expression before it turned to a smile shortly after, though he could sense the malice behind her gaze.
“You wouldn’t want to disrespect our princess after she has graciously invited us here to honor us, would you? There could be dire consequences if you were to do so.” She said sweetly, her hand crackling with the slightest bit of lightning, a thinly veiled threat.
Revali gulped. He had been on the receiving end of Urbosa’s lightning once before, and the experience had been so painful that Mipha immediately had to heal him, her face contorted with worry as she desperately held him close to soothe the white-hot pain coursing through his veins, though he had appreciated being held by her, if even just for a moment.
He groaned before following to join the group, Urbosa giving him a satisfied smile before walking side by side with Zelda, leaving him alone in the back.
Mipha glanced back worriedly at him, trying her best to be discreet, though it didn’t take Revali long to see Mipha’s amber eyes gazing directly at his, causing him to be caught off guard, enough to almost jump.
Why was she staring at him like that? It was so intense, he wondered if she was truly worried about him. He felt slightly guilty for seemingly making her worry, though why she would even be worried in the first place was beyond him.
Mipha noticed him staring at her, causing her to squeak and quickly turn back around, her cheeks warming a little at being caught.
“Why am I so embarrassed? I was simply checking on him from afar, that’s not against the law, is it? Perhaps it’s rude to stare at someone from afar in Rito culture. So much I do not know about him, but how I desire to learn more.” She thought, clasping her hands together in an effort to calm down.
“Alright, here we are.”
The Champions had arrived a little ways from the Sanctum at a gazebo of some sort, just below the tower that housed Zelda’s study.
“Welcome to the Gazebo! I discovered this place not too long ago, the view of Hyrule and the Castle is simply beautiful, it will give you all a chance to rest for a moment before you depart.” She said, and Revali could have flown off if he didn’t know Urbosa would strike him out of the sky.
“Hellooooo, everyone! We’re here!”
Revali groaned. This day was just getting better and better.
Purah and Robbie had arrived from the Royal Ancient Tech Lab a little ways from Hyrule Castle across the Breach of Demise, a now usually monster-infested area, though it appeared the two scientists had made it through unscathed.
“Purah? Robbie? What are you two doing here for?” Zelda asked, and Purah waved her off just as quickly as she pointed towards the Sanctum.
“The King summoned us here to see our progress on the Guardians, though it seems he failed to tell us that the inauguration was today! I mean, that’s why you’re all dressed so nicely, right?” Purah asked, moving her hand around towards the five of them, each time landing on the respective blue garment they were wearing.
Revali had a slight hunch that the King didn’t tell them the inauguration ceremony was earlier that day on purpose. Robbie and Purah were Hyrule’s most respected scientists, that was certain, but their antics tended to get a bit out of hand at times.
However, he did not say anything. He quite liked Robbie and Purah, they didn’t constantly antagonize him as Urbosa did, and his feelings towards them weren’t as...complicated as they were towards Mipha.
Complicated? Was that he was referring to them as? Oh, how he desperately wished he could see inside her head, to see what she truly thought of him. Though, now that he thought about it, it most likely wasn’t any good. He had been quite rude to her friends, his allies, and for what? To impress her? To impress himself?
He could have snorted if he hadn’t noticed Mipha was staring at him once again, but not with worry. It almost seemed like...curiosity?
“Revali?” She asked, Revali not even noticing that Mipha had stepped closer towards him until she was directly in front of him, close enough to touch, but far enough away to not encroach on his space.
“Ah, Mipha. What brings you over here?” He asked, and Mipha giggled as she pointed at Zelda, who now held the Sheikah Slate conveniently received from Purah before she and Robbie rushed off to meet with the King.
“The Princess has the Sheikah Slate in her possession, I’ve noticed that you’ve seemed rather fascinated by it, so I thought you may want to take a closer look.” She said, taking ahold of his wing and gently pulling him after her.
If it had been anyone else, Revali would have batted them away and slunk off to a corner. If it had been anyone else, he would have screamed at them to let him go.
But it was Mipha, and while he did not particularly like being pulled closer to the others, the feeling of her small hand gripping onto his wing felt almost comforting, so he allowed it to slide, just this once.
Zelda was marveling at the Sheikah Slate in awe, though she looked up when she heard the click of talons and the soft pad of someone’s feet to see Mipha and Revali standing in front of her.
“Oh Revali, Mipha, is there something I can help you with?” Zelda asked, and Mipha pointed towards the stone tablet in the princess’s hands.
“Actually, we were wondering if we could examine the Sheikah Slate a little more closely. We don’t have much technology from the ancient civilization except for our Divine Beasts, after all.” Mipha asked, Zelda nodding as she handed the Sheikah Slate to Revali.
The relic was quite small in Revali’s hands, allowing him to hold it between two of his fingers as he examined it.
“Hmph. This is the Sheikah Slate, eh? Doesn’t seem to do much to me.” He remarked, and Zelda sighed.
“It is, though apparently there are more uses for it than we originally thought. Sadly, we’ve yet to decipher all of its secrets.” She said with what sounded like disappointment as Revali handed the Sheikah Slate to Mipha, her barely just catching the artifact in her own hands.
Urbosa leaned down towards Mipha, placing a hand on her hips as an idea popped into her head.
“The princess showed me something strange recently. Somehow it can create true to life images!” She said with a smile, causing Mipha to stare down in wonder at the stone tablet in her hands.
“Oh wow, I would love to see it.”
Mipha turned to see Link and Daruk chatting quite animatedly about something, or rather, Daruk talking about something while Link silently listens.
Mipha had always appreciated that about him, or at least that’s what she could appreciate about him now. When he was younger, he would always talk to her so eagerly about whatever was on his mind without a second thought, whether it be someone he had just bested in a duel or a fascinating bug he had found.
How she missed his childlike wonder, now replaced with a stoic demeanor and no want to draw attention to himself. It was saddening to see her dear friend be so burdened by whatever was on his mind.
That desperation to bring him back to her drove her to almost propose to him, even going so far as to create Zora Armor to seal the engagement, but something in her had told her not to.
That something, she soon later realized, was her curiosity about a specific Rito, namely Revali. He had managed to capture her attention more so than even Link could, though for what reason, she did not know.
Now, she wasn’t quite sure what to think, so the Zora Armor lay abandoned in her room, tucked out of sight until she could sort out things in her mind.
However, an idea popped into her mind, something she had been wanting to suggest that the Champions do for quite a long time, but did not from fear it would take up too much and resources. This was the perfect opportunity.
“Um, Princess, may I ask a special favor of you?” Mipha said, and Zelda looked at her with confusion.
“Of course, what is it?” She asked, and Mipha held out the Sheikah Slate towards Zelda.
“Could we...perhaps take a picture together with the Sheikah Slate? It would be a good way to commemorate us all becoming Champions!” She said, and Zelda took ahold of the Sheikah Slate once again, her mouth widening into a smile as she nodded in agreement, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
“That is a wonderful idea, Mipha! Here, you should all gather by the water to take the photo, and I shall take the photo.” She said, feeling a hand clap on her shoulder to see Purah and Robbie returning from their rendezvous with King Rhoam.
“Nonsense, Princess! I can handle the picture taking, you’re a part of this team as well! Go have fun!”
Purah then pushed her towards the other Champions, or more specifically Link, who caught her with ease in his arms and helped her stand upright once again.
Purah then tapped at the Sheikah Slate until the Camera Rune activated, Robbie standing behind her to make sure she activated it correctly.
“Uh, I think you were supposed to do this...”
“Shush, I know what I’m doing. Ah, there we go!”
Instead of the Sheikah symbol glowing on the screen, it was the five Champions and Zelda instead. Purah smiled in satisfaction as she moved back just a bit to get the framing better, bumping into Robbie in the process.
“Oops, you okay?” She asked, looking at him with the slightest bit of concern, and Robbie was glad that his oversized goggles covered most of the blush that crept onto his face as he nodded hurriedly.
“Yeah, just take the picture.” He mumbled, though Purah only shrugged as she turned back around towards them.
“Alright, this spot should work nicely. Keep your eyes on the Sheikah Slate, everyone!” She called out, as everyone settled into a sort of pose.
Daruk towered over the rest of the group, enough to where Purah couldn’t get him into the frame even if she leaned back far enough, almost falling directly into Robbie once again.
“Um, Daruk, could you crouch down a bit? You’re as big as Death Mountain!” Purah asked, causing Daruk to look around in confusion before realizing how much he towered over the others, so he crouched down just a bit to fit into the frame.
“What’s with the glum face, Princess, gimme a big smile!”
Zelda felt a hand on her shoulder to see Urbosa smiling down at her with such affection. She sighed with sadness, how she missed seeing that expression from her father, or even her mother for that matter.
“I-I apologize. I was not aware I was pulling such a sour expression.” She mumbled, and Urbosa laughed in response.
“It is quite alright, Little Bird. I would be surprised if you weren’t at least a little tired from today’s excitement. I promise that you will be able to rest after we are done, and I will personally speak to the King if he is against it.” She said, and Zelda nodded, a soft smile now upon her face as she turned back towards the viewfinder of the Sheikah Slate.
Revali sighed. Surely it didn’t usually take this long to take one simple picture, did it? He had seen Zelda use the Camera feature a few times before, and it had only taken a few seconds. This was ridiculous.
“Revali, move your tail closer to the group!” Purah yelled, and while Revali was tempted to just ignore her, he didn’t want to look bad in front of Mipha, or worse, be shocked by Urbosa.
“Ugh, fine.” He groaned, ignoring the smug look on Daruk’s face as he shifted closer slightly to Urbosa, wishing he had to move closer to anyone besides her. Being within arm’s reach was never a good thing for her.
“Mipha, you look so tense! Deep breaths, okay?”
“R-right!”
Was something the matter with Mipha? Revali peered around everyone to see her taking in a few deep breaths at Purah’s suggestion, and Revali couldn’t help what happened next.
He smiled. Not a smirk, not a smug look, but a soft smile, a sincere one.
It had been quite a while since he had smiled sincerely about anything, but how could he not? Mipha was positively adorable, her little antics and mannerisms made her look nothing but charming in Revali’s eyes. He felt nothing could ruin it for him until he heard a voice.
“Stay just like that!”
He snapped his head back towards Purah and Robbie, immediately reverting to a frown, hiding any evidence of a smile at all, though the two scientists smirked at one another knowingly.
“Here we go! Smile! Click snap!”
As Purah’s signature phrase left her mouth, Revali felt a rough large hand push him closer towards the others, much too close, and way too forceful.
So forceful that he fell backward onto the ground with everyone else stumbling as he felt someone land on him.
The person who had landed was small, that was for sure, and Revali instinctively felt for who it was, feeling not hair like almost everyone else had but smooth...scales.
“Oh, goddess above!” He thought as he looked to see red, but not like blood. No, it was a head fin, and it shifted upwards until Mipha was staring straight into Revali’s eyes.
Her hands gripped onto his arms in an attempt to steady herself, though she looked just as shocked as he was as she quickly scrambled off of him, her face beginning to turn red.
“Oh my goodness, Revali, I’m so sorry! Are you hurt?” Mipha asked in a panic, hurriedly searching for any signs of a scrape or cut on his body, before she felt two hands grip her shoulders, Revali staring at her with a smirk.
“I’m fine, Princess. You needn’t worry so much, being pushed to the ground is the least of my worries, though I would like to know why someone thought it was a good idea.” He said pointedly as he glared directly at Daruk, who was helping Urbosa to her feet.
“Oh come on, you all looked so tense! I was trying to lighten the mood a little bit, this is a celebration, after all! Besides, how angry can you really get, I was doing you a favor!”
Revali could have exploded with fury at that moment if it was physically possible, and if it wasn’t for the fact he was holding Mipha in his arms, he would have attempted to punch Daruk.
“Don’t ever do that again, I don’t need your help, especially when it involved possibly injuring someone! Mipha could have been hurt if she hadn’t fallen on me!” He yelled, and Urbosa laughed, flipping her hair over her shoulder in an attempt to make it look presentable once again.
“Oh please, you would have caught Mipha even if it meant breaking your arm, she would’ve been fine. Now, why don’t you go get up before Purah and Robbie have any more material to use as blackmail?”
Revali looked over to see Purah happily snapping away, Robbie and her snickering as several clicks were heard in the sudden silence.
“Hey, what do you think you’re doing? Delete those pictures!” Revali yelled, getting up from where he kneeling to chase after Robbie and Purah who had begun running in circles around the Gazebo.
“Not a chance, bird boy! I’ve been dying for something like this to happen!” She said excitedly, laughing as Revali tried and failed to catch her.
Mipha watched them in wonder, the feeling of Revali holding her in his arms still imprinted on her skin as Zelda knelt next to her.
“Mipha, are you alright? You haven’t said a word this entire time!” She asked, and Mipha began to laugh, a genuine laugh to the point where she forgot to hide her teeth, the serrated edges in full view.
Everyone was quite bewildered as Mipha stood, wiping a tear from her eye as she watched Revali continue to chase Purah around the gazebo.
“I am just wonderful, Princess.”

A Better Captain
I’m reposting this because I wanted to edit the the post and tumblr said “no you’re on a computer now” so I couldn’t edit it. It’s here now though lmao
This was originally for the 2020 Summer Exchange on the LU Discord Server for Crab!
Description: Wild recovers a memory in Warriors’ Hyrule, and a certain concerned captain goes to see if he can help.
Also Sky just wants a nap he’s tired.

The sound of swords clashing echoed through the training yard. Warriors smiled to himself, enjoying the moment of contentment in his own era. Most of the trainees were new to him, but he didn’t mind that. Besides, Impa had taken it upon herself to help train while he was adventuring with the others.
The band of heroes had been traveling for days, with hardly a break from the onslaught of infected monsters that suddenly started appearing more often. Even Wind had looked dead on his feet, despite being the most energetic of the bunch. Since then, the heroes had split up, some retiring to rooms, others lounging near the kitchens, eager for a nice meal.
Now, it was just him, Sky, and Wild, the only ones who had been given formal training. Wild couldn’t remember it, as far as Warriors knew, but that didn’t seem to matter much to the younger hero, who was watching the clearing with interest. Sky almost looked as if he was going to fall asleep standing up.
“Chosen, you know that you can go nap in the guest rooms, right?” Warriors asked jokingly. Sky snorted, and turned to look at him, yawning.
“We’ll see. I was half listening to the conversation this time,” Sky insisted, drowsily waving his hand through the air in a half-hearted attempt at redeeming himself.
“Do you even know what we were talking about?” The Captain shot back jokingly. Sky thought for a moment.
“Something about you telling Wild the proper technique for… something. Yeesh, maybe I should go take a nap,”
“No, I have to know, have you never tried using a spear?” Wild asked, flipping through his slate and holding it up to show the other heroes. “It’s great! I could be attacking fifteen bokoblins and it’d be easy because I can keep them six feet away from me!”
“Just wait until I tell the Rancher that you did that,” Warriors threatened, and Wild gasped, hooking the slate back onto his belt.
“I said that I could have, not that I did. Get your facts straight, Captain,” Wild argued, failing to keep a straight face. Warriors snorted, and turned to face him.
“And for some reason I don’t doubt that you actually did that,” He retorted, shutting Wild up in a silence that meant he indeed had tried it Sky giggled, distracting the two from their conversation.
“If it’s any consolation, I am very proficient with a whip,” He offered, smiling. Wild beamed, and started asking where he even found a whip in the first place.
“You’ve never seen a whip before?” Sky questioned, baffled at the response. Wild nodded eagerly, and gladly held the offered item. He studied it with intense interest, and resigned to taking a picture of it on his slate, probably to show his Zelda when he got home.
“Actually, I don’t think I’ve seen one like that either,” Warriors added, taking the whip from Wild. He was about halfway through inspecting it when a clang louder than the rest echoed throughout the clearing.
Looking up, a trainee had been knocked to the ground by another, the sturdy armor scraping against the ground. Warriors watched as Impa seemed to offer some advice to the little recruit, and helped him up to try again.
“If anything, I think that woke me up,” Sky said after a moment of silence between the three.
“I doubt anything could- is Wild alright?”
At a first glance, it would look like the champion was merely staring off into space, but Warriors and Sky knew better. They had seen it before, after all. His eyes were blank and far off, looking straight through the training yard and straight into a memory.
“What do we do now? Should one of us get Twilight?” Sky nearly whispered, worrying his lip. Warriors thought for a moment. He could get through this, right? What if Wild was reliving a bad memory, and something happened? The captain had no idea, having not seen what it was like when Wild actually came out of his nostalgic stupor.
“I don’t know. Let’s wait it out, then we’ll decide what to do. If things are bad, I’ll find the Rancher and you talk to him, if not, thank Hylia,” Warriors decided, resuming his focus on the training yard in what seemed like a small ditch attempt to take the attention off of their amnesiac friend.
Warriors and Sky waited in silence for nearly three minutes when Wild returned. At first, all they heard was a little gasp from the boy, turning their heads to see his brows furrowed, eyes staring at the ground while he was lost in thought.
“Wild, are you alright?” Warriors prompted, speaking gentler than he had in awhile. He stayed silent for a few moments before responding.
“Yeah. I’m just going to take a walk,” He murmured, turning away and exiting back inside the castle.
“I’m going to take a guess here and say that it wasn’t a good memory,” Sky muttered, wearing a look of concern. Warriors sighed.
“Do you think- maybe I could talk to him?” He offered, and Sky turned around faster than he had moved that entire morning.
“Are you sure that’s a good idea? I’m pretty sure he punched Legend when he tried to wake him up from a nightmare. I think we should get Twilight,” Sky insisted, and Warriors shook his head.
“If he got a memory in the training yard, it must have been a memory of his training, and I know the most out of that than anyone. If anyone could help him, it’d be me,” Warriors replied, and Sky considered it.
“Okay,” He mused. “Just be careful. Don’t make him any more upset,”
“I’ll do my best,” Warriors promised, and then turned to walk off in the direction of the champion.
**********
Warriors found Wild in the courtyard. He was leaning against a wall, in the shade of a bush, hiding from the sights of everyone else. Warriors steeled himself, ready for a backlash. Taking a step forward, he purposely stepped loudly, noticing the way Wild’s ear twitched in recognition to his presence.
The Captain sat down, a good three feet away from Wild, growing uncomfortable in the awkward and heavy silence.
“Do you want to talk about it?” He asked hesitantly, glancing over in Wild’s direction. The person in question shrugged, and kept silent. “I can leave if you want me to, just ask. I wanted to see if there was any way that I could help,”
“What does it mean to you? Being a captain, I mean,” Wild murmured, taking Warriors by surprise. He shrugged.
“To me? It means a lot. After the war and everything, I take pride in continuing to protect my kingdom, just like we’re all trying to do. To others, I’m supposed to be a role model, someone to look up to and ask questions. Calm, collected, patient. It’s a lot of responsibility, but I’m happy to do it,” He answered after a moment of thought. Wild tensed, and for a moment Warriors tried to consider what Wild would say if Warriors had said something wrong. Wild laughed dryly, leaning his head back against the stone wall.
“I don’t know how to feel about that answer. Didn’t you ever wonder why I was so quiet when I met you all?” He croaked, voice becoming hoarse. Warriors shifted uncomfortably.
“Well, I can’t say I didn’t, but for a time I didn’t talk too much either. My fairy friend did most of the talking for me back then,” He admitted, and Wild furrowed his brows.
“Why’d you stop?”
“Stress. The pressure of suddenly becoming a hero was the worst of it. Before that, all I can remember was people expecting more from me then they got. I poured myself into training, becoming the perfect knight I was supposed to be. I didn’t start talking more until I met some of the people from the other eras, especially all the sassy ladies that came through. You should have seen Time’s Zora Princess lecture me out,” He laughed at the memory, getting a small smile from Wild, before it faded, and he continued to speak.
“I remembered my old captain. And I think- I think that I wanna tell you some things,” He finished, looking at Warriors, suddenly making the Captain feel very small. But nevertheless, Warriors nodded, and Wild started telling the story of his newest memory.
**********
Link coughed, nearly tripping as he did so when he was suddenly forced to dodge away from the knight in front of him.
“Sloppy! Clean it up! You’ll never beat him like that!” The captain called out from his location in the shade. It was boiling hot, and Link was shaking under the practice armor that he wore. The opposing knight, however, stood tall, having switched out with another only minutes ago.
The knight swung his sword again, and Link darted under him, making an attempt to strike him in the back, but was instead shut down as the knight turned and slammed the hilt into his side. Link’s twelve-year-old malnourished body didn’t stand a chance against the older knight, and he was knocked to the ground, a sword now pointed at his throat.
“Worthless. Get up, and do it again,” The captain commanded, and Link tried to push himself up, he really did, but his arms ended up giving out, and he was rendered practically immobile on the ground, breathing so hard that his chest was burning with the effort.
“I said get up. You’ll never stand a chance against the Calamity at this rate. Not even close. I’ll say it again, get up,” The captain ordered, and Link, out of sheer will, managed to pull himself to his feet, and leaned heavily against his sword, unable to raise it more than a few inches.
Then, to Link’s surprise, Impa spoke up.
“Captain, sir, he’s clearly dehydrated. He needs to rest before he gets seriously sick,” She pleaded, and the captain turned to sneer at her.
“This is not your decision. You may be becoming the Sheikah Chief, but this is not your place to speak,” He retorted, struggling to keep up his half-hearted calm demeanor. At that point, Link was sure that he was delirious, as the Master Sword he was leaning on seemed to be humming in his mind. Wait- that could’ve been his headache. Just thinking about it reminded him of the ache in his skull.
Before he knew it, his vision swarmed with exhaustion, and Link felt weightless as he found himself with his head in Impa’s arms. Her mouth was moving, but Link couldn’t hear what she was saying as he gave in to the abyss.
**********
“If I ever see that son of a bitch, I think I might kill him,” Warriors spat out once Wild finished retelling the memory.
“He’s dead, Wars,” He reminded, and Warriors scoffed.
“Hylia knows that won’t stop me,” He said, turning to face Wild. The captain’s gaze softened when he realized that that wasn’t what Wild needed at the moment, as tears were beginning to prick at the corners of his eyes. “You know you’re safe here, right?”
Wild nodded.
“And you know that I’d never treat you like that, right?” Warriors continued, voice getting softer. Wild nodded again, and Warriors took the opportunity to sit shoulder to shoulder, bringing his knees to his chest.
“It’s just, sometimes I feel guilty that there are parts of my life now that I like more than my life before. That I could see my house, and Flora and all my friends, and even though I know I had a family then too, I could not want to go back to before,” Wild explained, and Warriors sighed. He knew nothing about this stuff. So why did he think that he was qualified to help Wild? Well, he didn’t think that, he was too eager to try and help.
“Well, I know I’m not Twilight, and I’m usually on the pep talk side of things, not necessarily giving advice, but I think that’s okay this time around. Things happen for a reason, Wild, and whatever happened with the Calamity wasn’t your fault, and yet it changed so much for you. I think it’s amazing that you know that you’re here now, and that you’ve made the most of it,” Warriors assured, nudging playfully at Wild’s shoulder. “And besides, I also think I’d take you now over you before any day,”
Wild smiled, and sniffed, rubbing at his eyes before bringing up his arms and hugging himself.
“I think I’m just happy to have a better captain,” He said, half to himself and half to Warriors. The captain in question beamed, and wrapped his scarf around the other’s shoulders, feeling content as the younger hero leaned into the warmth.
“We should go inside, it’s getting cold,” Warriors suggested as a cool breeze blew by. “We can join Sky on his nap. Hylia help him if he hasn’t gone inside yet, you saw him earlier,”
Wild giggled, a rare sound, but one that filled Warriors with pride nevertheless. He snorted, and helped his friend up, his scarf still dangling from Wild’s shoulders. He turned the way he came, and Warriors followed, taking one last look at the courtyard for good measure.
To his surprise, he found Twilight, standing at the other end, smiling at him proudly. A smile that made Warriors feel warm even in the cold evening air.

You can drop me an ask about any of them, or just vote via the emoji combo I’ve assigned them.
Voting lets me know you’re excited about an idea and makes it more likely I’ll actually work on it. You can vote anytime, there’re no deadlines or winner announcements, just me gauging your interest by what I see in my ask box most often.
You can also ask me about the original stuff I’m working on currently. The current WIPs are Medusa centric and the emoji for them is: 🐍
- Lupin: 🤑🤠💍  These are all oneshot ideas, between 5-15K each. If you want to vote for a specific idea, send me the emojis and the number of the idea.
Lupin, Jigen, and Goemon always play rock-paper-scissors after a big heist to decide who’ll give the group a striptease, and who will get showered with money. Based on a piece of fanart that is basically this sequence of events in a 4koma (except in their version Jigen loses and in mine, it’s Goemon). (written, just needs editing)
Zenigata cuffs Lupin four times, and Lupin steals his heart. Very NSFW conclusion. Zenigata is the most caring lover you’ll ever find. Lupin is as thirsty as usual and twice as intense. (written, just needs editing)
Jigen protects Lupin from poison darts during a treasure hunt in an Aztec temple, and Lupin nurses him back to help--forcibly, since Jigen is a horrible patient. Born from my desire to spoil Jigen and talk about what ridiculous domestic husbands these two are. (WIP)
Born from the idea that Goemon and Zenigata probably couldn’t be an item, my brain decided to come up with how I could write for them. Goemon’s teaching an ikebana class as part of his training, and Zenigata shows up as a student on forced recreational leave for his health from the ICPO. Zenigata wins the samurai’s heart through flowers. But what happens when Lupin and Jigen find out? (Only good sexy things, I promise. These beans are in a healthy polycule--be gay, do crimes)
Trans!Lupin and Trans!Jigen premise: Jigen cares for Lupin after the master thief has top surgery, since Jigen has Been There and Done That. Caring, sweet, and a little sexy. Lupin is a much better patient than Jigen.
- Sonic Vampire Novelist Coffee Shop AU: 📚☕💐
Shadow is an immortal vampire who has seen the world change for the worse too many times. These days it feels like he only lives for his coffee dates with Rouge, another immortal who loves each new era they encounter, warts and all. He has to admit that the book series she got him into speaks to him, at least. If someone in this era can understand him without meeting him, it can’t all be bad. But he hardly expected the goofy blue barista at the new coffee place to understand him the way those books do.
This is a novel length romcom romp with some big feelings about what it means to watch as things change, grow, and die. Expect lots of Big gothic feelings from this one, emotionally charged kissing, and overly-adoring sex. But also expect shenanigans from everyone in the coffee shop, which include Rouge, Amy, Tails, Knuckles, Cream, and more.
- Sonic Blazamy: 💖🌸💎
Amy Rose has been in love with Sonic for a while.
Or has she?
When the Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, and Silver are trapped as the fuel sources for Doctor Eggman’s newest evil scheme, Amy teams up with Blaze, Rouge, and Cream to save them. With Sonic out of the picture and Amy fulfilling his role, was she ever really in love with him? Or did she just want to be like him?
This is a novel length epic romance with lots of competent women and lots of romantic Blazamy content. Expect flowery hopes and dreams, badass self-actualization, and glancing hand touches that give way to cuddly and sweet sex.
- Persona 5: 🗡🍛☕
After bringing down the Metaverse twice, Ryuji didn’t think graduating high school and figuring out what to do with his life would be so hard. Akira’s back in town, and the gang’s more-or-less all in Tokyo, but everyone else seems to have a plan while Ryuji just floats. How’s he supposed to change the world when he’s not a phantom thief anymore?
This is a novel length fic that addresses how powerless one can feel being just one person in the face of all the corrupted systems and bigotry the world has to offer. It’s about holding on to what you believe in, working through the doubt, and fighting your way to a better tomorrow with the power you do have. The whole gang is queer, featured relationships being Mako x Ann, Ryuji x Akira, Futaba & Yusuke as platonic life partners. Akira is polyamorous and omnisexual, Futaba’s asexual and aromantic while Yusuke is demisexual and very romantic, Makoto’s a lesbian, Ann and Ryuji are bi, and Haru’s pansexual, demisexual, and aromantic. They’re one giant band of queer Phantom Thieves, and even if they’re not really doing the Metaverse thing anymore, they’re still gonna save the world!
Also, I’m gonna make Makoto not a cop. That super didn’t age well. Zenkichi and his boss can work on making them better/abolishing them for other better organizations.
- Hades Game: ❤️‍🔥💀
Oneshot. I just really need to elaborate on the threesome you can have with them in-game, okay? Healthy and canon poly relationships are so few and far between, so often I have to do a ton of groundwork to explain why it’s working in the fic, but NOT WITH THESE KIDS!
Get ready for Meg helping Zag and Than be better at expressing their feelings, lots of kissing, and probably pegging.
- Castlevania Animation Trevor/Sypha/Alucard: 🧛🏰🛌
Castlevania gave Alucard a threesome last season, and I just really need S4 to give me him being taken care of by his partners. They’re probably not going to give it to me, so I’ll need to do it myself. This is just an everybody loves Alucard oneshot, with the gang’s signature banter (to an extent), Sypha being sexy, and Trever being remarkably sincere. This fic is gonna feel like that Ann Hathaway picture with Trevor kissing Alucard and Sypha holding the end of Trevor’s whip while she leans her head on Alucard’s shoulder adoringly.
- Devil May Cry Nico/Lady/Trish: 💋✨😈
Nico’s gay, okay? Like really, really gay. And Lady’s bi and not into men who make her pay bills, but very into women who make amazing guns for her and demonesses with hearts who fight by her side. Trish is ace, but loves people and is pretty attached to Lady at this point. Plus it’s cute when Lady blushes and says nice things like they’re insults. I don’t have super solid ideas for them yet, and I envision these more like a polycule where Lady’s with Nico and with Trish but they’re not with each other more than seeing it as a threesome, but who knows what might happen. This is probably 1-2 oneshots depending on ideas, but might turn into a series of oneshots if people are interested (or I can’t control myself and inspiration strikes).
- Post FMA:B Blind Roy & No Alchemy Ed: 👀👑🙏
This is actually an old novel-length fic I wrote ages ago and didn’t post that didn’t turn out well because I was new to writing sex when I first wrote it. The plot is good, and is all about Roy learning to work with his blindness to reclaim his ambition of being Fuhrer and changing the system to something that actually cares for its people. He and Ed reconnect, fall into bed, and both set about working through their respective traumas about being “useless” having lost their sight/alchemy. They go to Xing as an ambassadorial party to offer Amestris’s collaboration on Al and May’s Alkahestry experiments--and uncover a plot that might threaten both kingdoms.
- Age of Calamity continuity Mipha x Revali: 🦚🐟💘
The first time Revali noticed Mipha, it was in the heat of battle. She stole his mark, taking them down with a flurry of quick blows from her spear. Violence rained from her like water--and then she healed him on her way to her next battle. No questions, no conditions, just pure kindness. The usual need to measure himself against those around him was quiet in her wake. And Revali couldn’t understand it. But how to get to know more about her? A fish and bird may fall in love, but where would they live?
This fic could be a oneshot or novel length depending on how far down the hole I fall. I need it to cover time, but it could be done in linked vignettes or with actually covering events in detail. I may elect to do a oneshot just to get it done and out of my system faster. So much fic to write, so little time.
Expect trans!Revali, polyamorous Zoras, scary competent Mipha, songbird Revali, love confessions that are made up entirely of berating Link for not loving Mipha the way she wants him to, and breaking these characters a little outside of their assigned roles in BotW and Age of Calamity. Background Link x Zelda, and Urbosa x Zelda’s Mom.
- Epic desert romance about Urbosa and Zelda’s mom: 🏜🏝⚡
I just think Urbosa should kiss women and Zelda’s mom should get more development and maybe a name or something. Also, lightning imagery/metaphors/play.
It also went way over my head that Riju wasn’t Urbosa’s daughter the first time I played BotW, so now I want to write about the Gerudo queen who refused to produce an heir. The Gerudo are fascinating and have a very interesting cutlure, but I think it could be examined from a nonbinary perspective that rejected pregnancy and wanting to find a husband. Not in like a hateful way, but in a way that examines if that’s really right for everyone. There’s that shop in town that sells Voe armor, after all. Maybe finding a husband and having children isn’t something you have to do if you don’t want to. And Urbosa really doesn’t want to.

Hello my love 😍 ! Look who's coming to request another fic 😘 ! So today I'd like to read a little fic between Baby Sidon and his sister Mipha from BOTW 🤩. With maybe the sentence n°10 😁 Love you so much 🥰. 3 days left
Yeaaaaah ! I'm so happy to have hyped you this much 😎 Baby Sidon is just too cute 😍😍 TWO DAYS LEEEEFT !!!! 🥳🥳
Baby Sidon & Mipha 💕
The Princess Zelda had just leave from Zora's domain, after seeing a very cute scene between Mipha and her young brother Sidon. The little prince saw for the first time the Hylian lady, and the least he could say that he was impressed. She knew how divine machines worked to the perfection. Mipha had told him a lot about the blond-haired girl, but she was must better in flesh, real. Maybe her presence made him realize that his sister had a big plan to achieve. One day, she will leave him and their precious domain to fufill her goal, maybe never to return home. Back then, he never thought how true these words were...
“Sweet Sidon, should fate ever part us, I am counting on you to protect our beloved home from harm” Mipha said just before Zelda's departure. The young prince took these words at heart, and began practicing over and over his swimming skills. Of course, he was still too young to climb a waterfall that large, but he never stopped trying. His sister was his true role model, and he wanted to impress her. Mipha wasn't expecting his brother to take her words this seriously, and came later to search him, when she saw Sidon, a little spear at hand. She stopped him right before he tried to climb the waterfall again. “SIDON !!!” she yelled, her own lance helping her halt him. “My sweet Sidon... you don't have to put all your efforts in one day” she clarified with a gentle smile, putting a warm and humid hand against his shoulder. “Where did you get it ?” she asked while looking at the very small weapon. “Nelto forged it to me ! He said I will be stronger with it, to protect you and our home !” He nodded vigorously, holding tight his first real spear. After all, this was Zora's weapon of choice. “I knew I could trust you to defend our beloved home from harm... but I am sure there is a little Zora girl you like, isn't it ?”
As her young brother blushed a little, Mipha giggled sweetly. They never spoke about love or affection together, even if their father had always been a cuddling one. “Girls are yuk !” he exclaimed with a grimace on his cute face. That was probably why the princess burst out of laughter. “No they are not ! Look at Octavieh, she always wants to give you little kisses !” she joked fondly, finding his sweet brother even more cute when he was making faces. Sidon seemed pretty serious, not considering love for real, too much young for it... and yet, he knew what love was. He... saw it with his amber eyes. “I don't want kisses ! They are not Link for me...”
Mipha gazed at him with surprise, all trace of joke or smile had disappeared from her face. Of course, that hylian became dear to her in a matter of days. Seeing him explain swordsmanship and battle tactics to young Zoras made her fall in love without warning. Maybe that is why she started a Zora armor for him... “Link is...” she began with a soft voice, looking back at her own spear as she sat next to her brother. “He's a warrior ! I wanna be like him !!” Before the princess could even explain how she truly felt about the hylian champion, Sidon made her smile fondly again. “And I am sure you will be, my sweet Sidon !” No matter how much she cared for him, he was out of reach, at least for now. Her role as the Zoran champion was even more important. More than anything else, her family included infortunately. “Now... would you join me again ? Let us climb this big waterfall and head back to the domain !” she decided after taking his brother's hand, sweetened by Sidon's bright smile.
For sure, one day, he will become the great defender of the domain, and the most loved prince the Zoran people ever knew...

[Part 3] The thoughts of someone playing Ocarina of Time for the first time, a highlight of my progression.
Shadow Temple:
Great, more of this bullshit.
Fuck everything. I'm using the walkthrough 100%. I just want to be out of here as fast as possible.
Every time I walk into a new room, I immediately play the Sun's song because I'm not going to even give these redead and mummy motherfuckers a chance at coming near me.
My anxiety is through the roof rn ngl
The walkthrough just said that this dungeon boss is one of the hardest bosses in the game and if you listen really closely, you can hear the sound of my confidence shattering.
Ship's haunted.
Every other temple took me a few hours to finish, but I'm on irl day 3 of just staring at the boss door because I'm just not mentally prepared to face Bongo Bongo. I get tired when I open the game and just look at the door.
NAVI. LOCK ONTO THE FUCKING EYE, YOU USELESS FREELOADER.
‼NO NOT THE HANDS- GOD DAMMIT, NAVI, THE EYE! THE ONLY EYE! IT'S RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU!
NAVI, PLEASE.
I'm starting to understand why so many people want to just turn you off.
Took me 8 attempts to beat Bongo Bongo, and each time was with full health and 3 fairies in bottles, and I barely won. Fuck this, fuck this scary purple mirror lens thing. I hope I never have to use it again.
[I quickly learned that other parts of the game make you use it so I became incredibly paranoid and would put it on the second I entered any new room in a temple to check for invisible enemies, especially the Wallmasters. I hate how paranoid it made me the rest of the game]
Fuck this temple.
Gerudo Fortress:
Oh no they're all hot
And they're strong fighters? Yes~! Get it, girl!
Whenever I question my sexuality, all I need to do is look at a Gerudo woman and I'm instantly reminded of why I'm gay
Spirit Temple:
I love that this temple integrates both timelines and ties the most into the storyline. By far one of my favorite dungeons.
... has Navi always turned green and moved to show me things? Has that always been a thing? Am I that oblivious? 😂
Why are you green by the big snake lady's face? Oh God please don't tell me I have to fight the big snake lady.
I like that the adult portion has similar aspects to the child portion, like fighting the armored knight dude.
This dungeon boss is incredibly fun.
Temple of Time, again:
I wish I didn't know about this reveal prior to playing, but that's my bad for not playing the game earlier
Oh look, another game where I'm going to make Zelda wait for an unknown period of time while I go dick around in Hyrule.
[Preparing for Ganondorf]
Lon Lon Ranch, again:
EPONA, JUMP. JUMP, DAMMIT. JUMP.
Biggoron's Sword:
Oh he's actually really big
Why is this so complicated
Love that this mysterious relationship between creepy Lost Woods dude and the old hag was added. It really rounds out the characters
... he turned into a Stalfos? Excuse me? And we're just all okay with that? I mean, I heard about the myth but like actually nobody is going to talk about this? What the actual fuck?
EPONA, JUMP THE FENCES. I KNOW YOU CAN JUMP THESE FENCES. We are on a time limit here. EPONA, FUCKING JUMP.
Someone commented on the walkthrough: "when taking the eyeball frog to the laboratory, leave Zora's Domain and use the water well to go to the Lost Woods"
Tumblr media
Heart Pieces:
[The walkthrough really came in clutch to help me organize which ones I had already and which I needed]
There is an inadequate amount of space for a Sharky of that size in the Laboratory smh don't have a pet if you can't meet its basic needs.
Part 1 --- Part 2 --- Part 3 --- Part 4

I don't know if this is from a movie but "You fight like my sister." "I've fought your sister, that is a compliment." With Time and Warriors
"Now remember, there's only three chests. With the mirror it should be a piece of cake," Time says, leaning towards Warrior so one else can listen to their conversation.
Warrior turns the mirror over in his hand and turns to give Time a lifted eyebrow. "Y'know, I just never took you up to be a swindler, old man."
Time smirks and shrugs. "When your a kid with a mission to save the world, you have to get some easy money somehow."
"Just like how when you're a group of traveling heroes across era's, you have to get lots of money somehow."
"Exactly," Time says, "now, c'mon, the champion says that one chest will have three hundred rupees and the other two will have a single rupee. The one you're looking for I'm told is gold."
"Yeah, but, I think when the champion told us about this game he didn't think we'd cheat the man out of business."
Time simply waves his hand like he's brushing off a particularly annoying fly. "What he doesn't know won't kill him."
The duo walk up to the front steps of a particular wooden home near the edge of Lurelin Village. Warrior can't read the language painted above the wide open door of the home, but the images of gold rupees painted on either side of the sign is hint enough that if one is lucky enough, they'll walk out richer than what they came in. Or, in Time and Warrior's case, if they're simply bastard and tricky enough. Luck has nothing to do with the purple hued mirror in Warrior's hand.
"Welcome!" A man calls from a small table set in front of three chests pushed back against the back wall, three tarps hang behind each chest promising riches. "Here to place your bets?"
"Indeed my good man, 50 from each of us. We're playing to win," Time says, placing an assortment of differently colored rupees down on the table in front of the man.
The man smirks and picks up the rupees, counting them each with nimble fingers. "Living on the edge, huh? I'll go set up. No peeking while I'm fiddling with the chests, got it?"
Both Warrior and Time are escorted outside the building for just a few moments, when they're invited back in, the man is wearing a smug look on his face, clearly thinking he's already won.
"Take all the time you need to choose a chest to open. Look, listen, smell... taste 'em if you think it'll help."
Time walks up to the chests and Warrior conveniently places himself on the other side of Time, lifting his scarf ever so slightly to inconspicuously swipe the mirror across his eye. A flicker of gold catches his eye and he smiles. "I think we should try the left one?"
Time hums. "I trust your judgement," he says as he walks forward, taking care to look a little hesitant as he bends down to open the chest. A shit-eating grin appeared on his face as he opens the chest and pulls out a shining, golden rupee.
The man almost chokes on his own spit from behind him and Warrior has to try very hard not to laugh. What they're doing is... wrong... but it's also so goddess damned amusing to see the old man get this way. Plus, they do need the money.
"Where did that... What did you... How did you score a prize like that?! Can you introduce me to Lady luck? You gonna keep going right? Or do you admit defeat?"
And oh, they do not admit defeat. They place another hundred, and then a hundred more, and with every win the man gets increasingly more and more outraged by the sheer impossible luck these two random gamblers have. The final straw, it seems, is when the duo of heros are up three thousand rupees in wind.
Warrior flashes the mirror across his eye, and he sees only green. He frowns. He sees how it is.
"You know," be says slowly, "I don't think... any of them have a golden rupee, old man."
Time barely has time to reply before the man, Cloyne they've learned his name was, jumps up from his spot at the table, flipping it over with a yell. "How?!" He screeches.
He strides forward and grabs Warrior and Time by the scruffs of their tunics drags them outside. Warrior is about to complain about the money they're owed but the man growls a simple "stay there" and he disappears back into the shop. He emerges a second later. "This is double or nothing," he says, "and, only you can play."
He points at Time.
Shit. He's on to them.
Warrior clears his throat, deciding to quit while they're ahead. "I- I don't know, maybe we should-"
"I'll do it," Time says, fire in his eye, and Warrior almost smacks the palm of his hand onto his own face.
They're walked back into the building and Warrior nervously folds his arms across his chest as Time strolls forward towards the chests. He places a hand in his chin and finally walks towards the center chest. He hums, then turns quickly towards the right most chest and opens it, finding a miraculous golden rupee inside.
Warrior does not hold back his chear as Cloyne's jaw drops. Warrior is so ecstatic that he rushes forward and embraces Time in a one armed embrace, earning a surprised chuckle from the older hero.
Then, something clunks.
The mirror.
Warrior pales as he freezes and watches the mirror skid towards the shoe of the flabbergasted Cloyne, bumping harmlessly against the sole. Time verbally sucks in a breath as Cloyne bends down and picks the mirror up.
He looks through it, and somehow against all odds it's pointed towards the chests. His tanned face instantly redens.
"YOU CHEATERS! I KNEW IT!"
Warrior scrambles towards the man and quickly snatches the priceless item out from the rampaging man's hands. He fumbles with it in his hands, and he turns to see Time already booking it out of the shop.
That's their queue to leave, isn't it?
He almost trips on his own feet sprinting out of the shop, the man yelling behind them. For a second, Warrior thinks they'll get away but then they are physically stopped by a rather large Zora in a suit of armor.
A guard from Hyrule castle. Wild's mentioned that young men and women of all kinds were training at the castle and we're being sent across Hyrule to protect the outlying villages and towns.
Hoh boy.
The Zora looks down at the two heroes, and man isn't that a weird sight. Someone looking down on Time and Warrior. They're both usually the ones looking down.
"What's going-" the Zora starts, but is quickly inturrupted by Cloyne as he runs up behind them.
"These two baffoons are cheaters! They've been gambling with magic mirror!"
Warrior does what Warrior does best. He goes dramatic when he panics.
"A magic mirror!?" He demands, turning towards Time with the most offended and shocked face he can muster. "You gave me a magic mirror?!"
The guard lifts a finger to say something but Warrior plows on.
"Guard! He gave me!! A magic! Mirror! Guard, arrest him!"
"You dare impugn my honor?" Time butts I'm angrily, placing a hand on his chest like the mere thought was a physical blow. With his other hand, he points at Warrior. The poor guard can simply watch with a helplessly confused agape mouth as a crowd begins to form. "He's the one who was cheating! He tricked this poor man and took all of his money! Arrest him!"
"Oh now I'm the thief?!"
"Take a look in the mirror, pal!"
"Take that back or I'll-" Warrior stuffs the mirror into his pouch and grasps onto his sword. "En garde!"
The crowd gasps.
Time pulls his own sword. "En garde yourself!"
Warrior lunges forward and strikes a blow that Time easily blocks. The crowd rushes to get out of the way as Warrior and Time fight, exchanging half assed blows and child level insults.
"I will gift you the honor of a quick and painless death!"
"Well, any last words?"
"I will cut you to ribbons."
They hit their swords together a few more times until they've worked themselves further from the gaping crowd of poor villagers.
"You mincing, fencing, twit," Time grunts.
"Ah, you fight like my sister!" Warrior retorts.
"I've... Fought your sister! That's a complement!"
Swords clash.
"Not the face... Not the face..."
"Heathen!"
"Braggart!"
One, two, three blows more and finally Time and Warrior are a considerable distance from the group. They share a look and finally, Time strikes his sword in such a way that has Warrior's weapon flying out of his hand and landing with the blade partly buried in the dirt. Warrior falls dramatically backwards
The crowd, surprisingly, claps. It seems, in the world they grew up in, many events entertain them.
Time bends down and helps Warrior to his feet. "You've been a lovely audience," Warrior says, bowing and grabbing his sword. Time takes a bow as well.
"But we really must be going!" Time says, and then they both turn and book it.
The spluttering yelling from Cloyne follows just a second later, but the two "heroes" are already heading out of town.
They run into Wild later, the boy was waiting for them tapping his foot in the forest, an accusing eyebrow raised, but when Time and Warrior shows him the loot he simply smirked and says that he's been trying to find a way to cheat that game for months.

Mipha’s pie
Cooking is one of Wild’s solaces but it seemed Fate had a way of messing with even that.
Wild had gotten his hands on a really good recipe.
He had been in Gerudo town, vai clothes and all, hanging around the communal kitchen that was shared by all the Gerudo. He was looking at the shelves of spices, wondering what he ought to make for the group currently camping outside the town walls.
Riju had told him that he was welcome to help himself to use the spices or the kitchen to his liking. Since he wouldn’t accept other gifts, the young chief told him it was the least she could do for him.
He had done them a favor after all.
Wild took up more bottles in his hands, inspecting them, sniffing the spices, checkling the cutlery and the available dishes. He heard a whine from the wolf seated next to the ktchen and a growl coming from the stomach of the hero standing near the creature.
Looking at Hyrule’s appearance made Wild recollect on the day and momentarily stop.
Before coming to Gerudo town, Wild had taken them all to Kara Kara Bazaar and had them meet with Vilia.
Wild hadn’t told them much, except for the fact that she could get them in. They climbed up the ladders that led to the top of a sandstone building, Wild was first to reach and told the others to stay where they were as he approached Vilia.
The two talked in hushed tones, Vilia looking occasionally looking over Wild’s shoulder to glance at his companions. When they were done, the two separated and stood in front of the remaining Links.
Wild told them to all to file into one line, confused looks were exchanged among them but they obeyed. Vilia walked around them, eyes scanning the heroes who held the triforce of courage.
Eventually she stood in front of Time and nodded at Wild. Wild came up to them and dragged Time away from the line, Vilia did the same to Twilight, Warriors and Legend.
And then it was just Sky, Hyrule, Wind and Four.
Sky left first, then Vilia started circling the remaining three like a hawk. She stopped in front of Hyrule.
“This one,” she said before turning to Wild, Wind and Legend taking it as a cue to join the ones she had dismissed.
Wild told the rest to remain downstairs while Vilia, Wild and Hyrule stayed up.
And when they finally met with the others, Wild wished he could take a photo of their faces.
Because there was Wild and Hyrule in women’s clothes.
Both their stomachs were bare, their shoulders were exposed to the desert air but their chests and faces were covered by silks and cloth. While Wild’s outfit was mostly blue and purple, Hyrule’s was black amd white. But both wore the slippers and bracelets the group saw Vilia wear and realised with a start, that Vilia was the one who pretty much gave Wild access to Gerudo Town.
Hyrule thought about haggling with the merchants here but the prices were already reasonable enough so he supposed the only reason he was here was to help Wild carry more food from the kitchens to the camp outside.
Twilight was tasked with keeping watch of the two and Hyrule didn’t have to know that the wolf behind him was chuckling every time they had eye contact. He was sure everyone had to keep from laughing their entire journey here. He was glad that Wild could warp them, he didn’t want to face any monsters without his armor.
Wild signed to Hyrule, an easy one he had seen before.
Wait here
Hyrule nods and Twilight barks in agreement before the Wild hero disappears into a nearby building. Hyrule wonders if Wild doesn’t feel disturbed by everything that’s happened so far. Hyrule crouches down so only Twilight can hear him.
“I wonder how did Wild feel when he first wore these?”
Twilight doesn’t make a sound but he gives Hyrule a look that shows he’s listening.
“I’m really glad we have him, he’s the reason we’re all eating healthy after all. I wish i could do more for him.”
Twilight stares at him before looking up at an approaching figure, Hyrule too looks up and feels relieved it’s only Wild.
Wild has two picnic baskets in one hand and a book in the other.
He places the basket down ans tucks the book under an arm before signing.
I start now
Hyrule nods and watches as Wild begins cutting up fruits, fish and meats. As Wild falls into the rhythm of cooking, a Gerudo lady comes out of the building that Wild was in. She carries another picnic basket and nods with a smile at Hyrule, who nods back.
When Wild finishes cooking, Hyrule’s eyes glimmer at the feast they would be having tonight. When he turns to Wild, the latter nods to the picnic baskets. Hyrule places the pumpkin pie and fruit pie carefully inside while is tasked of stuffing anofher basket with meat pies and fish pies. When Hyrule finishes he places silverware and plates at the remaining basket.
But he stops when he sees the meat pies still on the counter.
He turns to Wild, about to point them out but see Twilight staring at Wild worriedly.
Then Hyrule realizes.
Wild is in the middle of a memory.
The cook still holds the fish pie in his hands, his eyes glazed and unblinking, the way they are everytime a memory happens.
Because Wild doesn’t want to miss a moment of it.
Twilight notices and Hyrule and looks at him before looking at the pie in their friend’s hands. Hyrule nods, carefully taking the pie and tucking it away into the picnic basket.
They wait, seconds pass, and when they do, Wild looks down at his hands.
Then minutes pass, the language of silence covering them like a blanket. Hyrule’s glad it’s night time now, less people to see them like this. Twilight gently nudges Wild and after a few more tries, their friend finally comes out of it.
Wild looks at Twilight first then at Hyrule, his expression even more unreadable under the veil but he slowly signs to them.
Let’s go
They all notice his silence.
Their focus only breaking when they ate but it seemed there was a cloud ready to pour over them when they were full. Twilight had already told Time and Hyrule sat closer to Wild than usual.
And finally finally when nearly all of them are asleep, does Twlight go to Wild with Hyrule at his heels.
“You didn’t eat like you used to, saved some of mine for you.”
The older hero starts the conversation. Wild’s eyes are still slightly glazed but something changes when he sees the dish Twilight saved for him.
Fish pie, that was what started this all.
Wild was about to refuse but the growling from his stomach wasn’t going to let him. Ears going up in embarrassment, Wild hastily takes the pie but frowns at it.
“You can start with dessert first.”
Hyrule holds out the piece of fruit pie he saved for Wild.
“Or meat, if you’d like.”
The three nearly jump when Time appears out of nowhere with a grin and a slice of meat pie in his hands. Wild looks at the three of them uncertainly before sighing.
“I guess i owe you an explanation.”
Wild started with the meat pie. He hadn’t realised how hungry he was until the first bite came to him. Soon he was scarfing down the fish pie he fretted over, there were tears in his eyes as he tried not to think too hard about its taste.
He saved the fruit pie for last. Desserts were comfort food after all.
Time, Twilight and Hyrule watched him eat, none of them speaking and waiting for Wild to start.
What did he see in his memory this time?
When the fruit pie is in his hands, Wild switches to a smaller fork to make it last longer.
“It was Mipha this time.”
Wild pauses then allow them time to digest that before continuing, the only sound in the air being light snores and the crackle of the campfire.
“Zora eat raw fish but she wanted to try making me something, she said she wanted to see what the fuss Hylians made out of home cooking was. She wanted to make something we could eat together and looked for a recipe.”
Wild takes a bite out of the pie.
“She made a fish pie.”
The others stay silent, coaxing him to continue.
“If,” Wild pauses. “If i have a memory of food with Mipha then...”
Wild places the fork down and his hands are clasped together.
“What if, i have more memories related to cooking and the people i ate with or made the food for?”
Wild’s hands tremble and Twilight gently places a hand on his shoulder.
“You’ve cooked for us before,” says Time. “I’ve lost count of how many dishes you’ve had to come up with. And this is the first time a memory like this has surfaced.”
Wild looks at Time and it’s Hyrule who continues the older hero’s words.
“Your memories don’t change who you are. They show you someone you can be or someone you used to be, or even a part of yourself you don’t know about.”
Hyrule smiles and takes Wild’s hands, relieved at the minimal flinching at touching.
“You have told us about your adventures and some of your memories too. From what i’ve heard, you haven’t changed in bad ways and you’ve improved your good ones.”
Wild’s expression is one of surprise before the wild hero smiles. “You’re right.”
Hyrule lets go and picks up the forgotten dessert before handing it to Wild. Wild takes it, taking bites out of it and he slowly feels the anxiety slipping away.
“Finish your pie ans get some rest cub, you deserve it.”
When Time, Twilight and Hyrule see him nod, they feel relieved and content.
For they had succeeded against a formidable inner demon.

The Tumble
@biwantfabulous asked ❝ Please I beg of you do one for Sidon finding out about all the stupid stuff that link does like shield surfing...❞ (Left the ending out to avoid spoilers for others, sorry!) and after like 2 billion years I’ve returned to give the people what they want- More Prince Sidon (with various characters)
Pairing: Prince Sidon x Link (Sidlink)
Words: 1,246

After 100 years it was clear that the world had changed more than its inhabitants may have realized. Placed the hundred year old warrior had been so fond of in his youth had been reduced to nothing but rubble all across Hyrule, most of those that he had cherished and cared for dearly for had been killed or passed before he had awoken, and even the Great Fairy Fountains that had been so popular had vanished since that horrible night all those years ago. Some things he could remember well, like his name, but most things still had a hazy sort of film over them. He had been working very hard to recall everything Zelda deemed important.
Yet for all the things Link had lost over 100 years he had also been able to learn a lot. Some lessons came from experiences out on the land as he defended himself against the many threats such as the Yiga clan or Guardians that seemed to be waiting for him around each corner. Other things had been taught from much more friendly sources, though that didn’t exactly mean that the things he had been taught were smart. Sidon, the prince of the Zora (and one of Link’s closest companions) knew such fact better than most.
It all began when the two of them took to the Zora trails, taking out Lizfolzos and Bokoblins together as Sidon filled the silence with his playful banter. It was one of the few off days for the prince, the Zora male having to sneak away from his advisors (as always) for a few moment alone with the hylian warrior he was so fond of. The first incident had taken place during an above ground attack, the shorter male slashing down without judging the distance of his fall before taking quite a tumble. The prince made quick work of their attackers, no longer finding their game fun with an injured partner so vulnerable. Once they were skewered and left in the past Sidon came to Link’s side, chiding him softly as he bandaged any cuts or scuffs that his eyes could find, only stopping when the smaller sent him a look that promised him he would try to be more careful in the future. They continued to walk the old trails, Sidon occasionally telling a story or two about the past from his perspective in the hopes of reviving a memory from the depths of his partners locked away mind. At times the prince worried that once he remember who he truly was then he wouldn’t look at him the same any longer, though he worked hard to keep such oppressive thought out of his ming. So long as link would be careful then Sidon would be happy.
He was not, however, more careful, as Sidon would quickly come to realize the longer he spent with the hero of old. Sidon found himself being excused from his duties more and more often, his father sending him seemingly knowing looks each time as he took up the kingly burden off of his sons shoulders, the glint in his eyes that was trying to tell him something he still wasn’t quite old enough to understand. Sidon wasn’t sure if his father or his advisors realized he was running off to see the hero and not a young lady for the throne...then again, there were eyes everywhere in the domain. Mipha taught him that so long as he was good and kind to his people then they would never have anything bad to say about him, what that treasured knowledge his stress over the company he chose to keep was normally kept at a low. If his father said anything then he would address it, until then he was simply content with slipping away with the Hylian who had saved his people, in solitary peace.
The next time the duo snuck away they decided on making the long trek up the tallest mountain, simply to distance themselves from anyone who might have come looking for the prince. Things started out calmly enough, just the two of them swimming up the falls and making small talk as they drew slowly closer and closer to the top. Shatterback point had been safe for about two week now, all thanks to Link and his masterful swordsmanship, though the people of the domain were still weary about venturing to the top. The dive down was said to be exhilarating, though even Sidon had yet to attempt it for fear of being killed in the process, not to mention the idea of being caught on the mountain during the Blood moon. The place was calm though without the Lynel there to attack any who drew near and the two of them were content to sit and simply be as they wished, they only had so long until the next ruby colored moon would come to take away the heroes accomplishment.
“You carry so much armor, surely you must grow tired!” Sidon remarked when at last they reached the top, Link leaning against the sign that warned against the now vanquished beast and trying to seem as if he wasn’t indeed out of breath. He took a moment before shrugging in response. “No? Does it not trouble you to carry your pack up and down mountains or through valleys?”
From there things really did begin to go down hill (No pun intended) after the hero pulled out a slightly rusted silver shield, the emblem of the royal family painstaking painted on however many years ago now beginning to chip from the wear and tear. Sidon thought that it had seen better days. Link looked at it for a moment before setting his things down next to the post and letting the shield hit the ground. He was surprised when the male stood atop it and used it as some sort of sled, ever more so when it began to slide down the steep slope they had so tirelessly trekked. Said surprise quickly turned into a form of horror as his sled broke and flew out from under him, sending him flying and tumbling down the incline. The zora ran so quickly that he too felt as if he was going to begin to tumble. He was meant for the water, his stubby legs had no business running down a mountain. The hero stopped rolling about the time Sidon appeared, the Zora now trying his best to seem as if the run hadn’t winded him. His pointed ears were red, though not from blood but from embarrassment. One fall from such a height seemed to humble the Hylian greatly as he picked himself up and checked himself over. Sidon watched, allowing him the right before asking any questions. “Are you alright?” He asked after another beat or two of silence. He simply stared off at something for a moment before giving a not, a little ‘hp’ sound leaving him as he brought his fists down to hit against his hips. The zora laughed, his webbed hand coming down to give him a pat on the back that sent him forward a few inches as the prince a relieved sort of laugh.
They made sure from then on to avoid anything too dangerous, choosing instead to enjoy the peace of the ending day before setting back down towards Sidons home. They had tamed the Divine Beast together, why make anything else as complicated?
