So what I get is that most fans are spreading rumors about clown being hacked or putting words in his mouth, and some are treating him like a child who needs to be protected at all cost (which is kinda creepy behavior). And this is happening because he made a NSFW tag, right? What a way to wake up to.
hello anon! yes, you've hit the nail on the head - i'm so sorry that this was what you woke up to! it certainly had my heart rate up for a bit 😭💖 here's the situation (apologies for the long post):
Clown has now made an official separate tag for NSFW content, #PlayfellowXXX. this is excellent! much like Toby Fox did with the #Undertail tag, NSFW fanworks creators now have a separate space to place their work, meaning that individuals who don't want to see that content don't need to.
Wally Darling and Frank Frankly Voice Actor F. Frankie Frankenstein confirmed that this was real, and a decision made by the Welcome Home team.
this was quickly corroborated by Clown, who said that they have not been hacked, and he just needed some time to adjust to all of the new attention. they also found the whole outcry quite funny!
after this, Welcome Home team member Anonymous Puzzler also said that this was a mutual decision between the team, and specifically said that it wasn't coerced in any way. she also confirmed that NSFW was never prohibited in the first place - it was just asked to be private while they worked everything out.
during this time, there were a variety of reactions from people. many were elated; some were confused; others were angry and/or upset. some believed Clown was hacked; others believed he was coerced; others acknowledged its veracity, but were saddened/angered all the same.
to recap: NSFW content has never been banned, according to the Welcome Home team: they just wanted time to work out the best way to protect younger people and those who don't want to see that kind of content in an enormous fandom. the team's preference is now for all Welcome Home NSFW content to go under the tag #PlayfellowXXX. this is a decision Clown and the team have reached organically, without coercion, and for the betterment of the fandom.
there is a significant portion of folks who are distressed by this news, and who are assigning thoughts and feelings onto Clown without knowing him personally. i don't think this is terribly healthy. it's okay if you don't like NSFW fanworks; having a separate tag means you can block/blacklist, and not have to see it!
personally, i think this is a wonderful idea. i'm saddened by the backlash NSFW creators are receiving in the wake of this news - especially as someone who received some of that hate, despite never having made NSFW content for Welcome Home!
i'm also baffled by the repeated assertion that Clown has somehow been coerced into this decision by 'porn-addicted weirdos'. the Welcome Home fandom has been extraordinarily respectful of the private NSFW rule...now, it's okay for people to make NSFW content for Welcome Home, guys. we literally got the green light 😅
the creator is an adult, the characters are adults, and it's a horror project which will deal with mature themes. this really is the best way the team could've handled this kind of project suddenly getting an enormous audience with a lot of younger people! no one is 'more deserving' of being in the fandom, and no one is 'better' than anyone else for making or not making a certain kind of fanwork. certainly, no one 'owns' a tag, character, or fandom - it is a courtesy to have a separate space so that people can avoid NSFW content if they want to.
at the end of the day, i hope those who are upset get a chance to rest, and realise this isn't the end of the world. i understand how hard this might be, especially if NSFW content is a real no-go for you. but everyone's fandom experience is different, and i promise you, the NSFW creators aren't making that content just to make you, personally, feel bad! 💖 if you see someone posting in the wrong tag, or who has outdated information, just politely let them know, or mute/block/scroll on as you need to.
now, i realise i'm breaking my own rule about not weighing in on discourse...but i have so many Welcome Home followers and wanted to make this easily accessible 🙏 i hope this clears up any questions people have.
to the NSFW creators - have fun! to those who'd rather not see NSFW content - take care of yourself! i hope you all have a wonderful day :3c

hello... 😅 uhm, first of all, i truly am sorry in advance for being awkward 😭 but for once i decided not to let my awkwardness keep me from sharing (what i think/hope are) positive thoughts with a stranger on the internet, so here i am.
i'm not around much and legit only made this acc bc like you i'm a late bloomer here and needed as many outlets for my yizhan/wangxian obsession as i could get my greedy hands on, in the big year of 2023... sigh. anyway, as an avid lover of meta/analysis posts since my early fandom days began around 15 (oof 🥲) years ago, finding your acc was such a lovely surprise. i agree with your views a LOT, and really appreciate how eloquent and well-written your posts are! even more so bc there's a lot i still don't know and most of the time the source material is very hard to reach and/or understand due to the language barrier, so having other turtles to rely on to access those, even if filtered by their own biases/opinions, is wonderful. besides, such input coming from a new fan is also comforting and imo refreshing, juxtaposed with that of older fans... it keeps the fandom alive and all that jazz. it's also very brave given how ruthless some folks can be on the internet, and on this corner in particular 😮💨 it just felt like reading my own thoughts written by someone else sometimes. i gasped and nodded at your posts soooo many times djskdjdj thank you for that!
(btw you followed me back the other day and i legit fangirled irl bc ??? whatttttt 😅 i still think it was an accident but okay omg djskdjdj AHEM. sorry)
then today i logged in and read your recent posts feeling squeamish about sharing more thoughts and as much as i 100% relate to you saying that kind of attention makes you anxious, i just... idk, i had to let you know i enjoy everything you post, even though adult life has kept me from being able to read it all so far. i understand you stepping back and i respect that decision, i'm not by any means asking you to go against what you know is best for you. at the same time, i can't help but hope you'll still show up every now and then bc your posts will be missed 🥲 i guess the whole motivation behind this is that it just made me sad to think your valuable insights will be something i'm yet again late to, if that makes sense?

Thank you for dropping into my inbox! I love hearing from other turtles, especially relative newbies, like myself! One of my fav parts of coming out of lurking mode is getting to talk to other people. I kinda follow back anybody who follows me, cause it seems polite? I don't know tumblr etiquette. I just follow the tags when I get the chance.
I appreciate the encouragement! I try to avoid dramatics, so I'm sorry for the upset last week. The situation is largely resolved, and I am feeling more okay. I kinda backed off because I wasn't sure of my footing here in fandom as compared to others, especially as I do think I have some takes that fall outside fandom consensus. Again, I don't mean to rock any boats and I'm not invested in convincing anybody that they should have the same opinions as I do. Hearing from turtles who do want me to continue posting gave me some more confidence there.
So, yeah, I expect I'll post some more as I have time. I'd like to post more on dd (cause he's my fav). I'd also like to try to figure out gg cause that dude is so confusing to me. I do have RL stuff going on, and I don't have the time to be super-active outside of occasional posts. But I'd like keep posting stuff. At least until I get all my Yizhan thoughts out.

My works tab claims the number to be twenty two, but at least one is a screen-reader-friendly duplicate of a Percy Jackson themed Reskin of Kids on Brooms, so it's more like...twenty one. I'd also take off of Blister Pack one-shots because they're tiny but they are one shots and those are technically valid, so...

...So I what I usually write and what I actually publish to ao3 are pretty different 😅 I've been doing a bunch of dp x dc fics as of late, and one dc x marvel fic, but if left to my own devices, I go back to Star Wars and Naruto and a lot of Naruto, and I have a surprising word count on a Supernatural fic which is odd considering I've never actually finished an episode of the show before.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

I've received stuff I honestly consider worse than hate, which is people who believe that I should think exactly what they think and write the fic as they believe canon should be interpreted, but here is the funniest exchange I've ever had on any fic ever:

I want to finish Trade of Trickery. I think it will take time. But I am determined to do it. We're halfway through the Sea of Monsters and I am delusional enough to think I can make it if I just power through in some distant future

Google translate is my friend, and I don't necessarily believe in providing translations. There's no irl subtitles. If the characters are meant to understand, I'll leave stuff around to make the context and content clear, but like, no creo que es necesario en todos situaciónes.
19. First Fandom you wrote for?
...Naruto...maybe...? No I'm wrong. It was Fairy Cube. My first divine visions/early fic thoughts were from Tamora Pierce's Song of the Lioness series and my first fandom I actually wrote/published fic for was Fairy Cube. Don't ask what account it was on. I borrowed my friend's ffn account. I don't remember the username anymore.
20. Favorite Fic you’ve written?
....hoo boy. Tie for Quiet Respite and Trade of Trickery. I love Comets and Drake Manor has a special place in my heart, but QR feels uniquely mine in ways that my dp x dc fics sometimes don't, and Trickery really is a love story about Sally Jackson and forgotten Demigod kids. Nothing else hits. Nothing else is the same. It's about collecting what you can in your hands and taking it with you.

I have 112 works right now. (64 fics, 40 artworks, 4 poems & 4 podfics)
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
422,153, which averages around 7k per fic... sounds about right, most of mine are short form.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Harry Potter!! Various ships but mostly Drarry
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

Wow that's a toughie. Most of my fics have some sort of happy sappy ending. Maybe Threads of Hope (5k, T) for the family feels and for 'Harry was happy on Halloween'. 💖

Not really. A few strange comments from time to time and people not agreeing with my choices for characters or plot, but nothing hateful!
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I don't think of myself as a smut writer, only 22 of my 64 fics are rated Explicit. Nor is the smut especially kinky - have dabbled in hand kink and watersports but that's about it.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Not exactly, but I collabed on an LCDrarry fic/art combo that was based on the trolley scene from Meet Me in St Louis, with Draco as Esther and Harry as John.

I don't think so
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Once - into Russian. So people can now read about Гарри Поттер and Драко Малфой enjoying a hand job in the Room of Requirement.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes - quite a few! I've co-written 5 or 6 fics with @timothysboxers, I wrote a fic with 20 other authors once, which was wild, and recently wrote a little ficlet with @lettersbyelise and @sassy-cissa. Tim and I are working on another one right now - wish us luck! 😅 *sweats in writer's block*
I've also collabed on 2 podfics. And have at various times and with various people participated in a fic & art collab where one of us draws and the other person writes. It's so great being creative with others!
14. What’s your all time favourite ship?
Drarry. 🤷♂️
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
SO MANY. I have a lots of WIPs and some of them I *might* finish some day (or so I tell myself). But I think the George/Angelina one I started in 2018 will probably never get finished. I realise you'll all be sadface emoji about that. 😂
16. What are your writing strengths?
I really don't know. I am GREAT at starting a fic, getting the first scene and a half down. That is my superpower.
I'm ok at dialogue I think?
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Following on from above, I seem to have unusually great difficulty writing endings. I struggle with making things plotty, and I find it so hard to delay the smooshing together of the characters. Also descriptions of places and rooms and clothes... not my forte. (Food descriptions I'm ok with though, lol, glutton that I am)
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I've never thought much about it. I occasionally include a short phrase uttered by someone in another language. But not whole sections of dialogue.
Should I have opinions about this? Is there discourse here I am unaware of? 😅
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Harry Potter. First and only!
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
Like Cassiara, my favourites change every time I try to pick one!
I'll go with Good Intent (12k, E) - a Jeddy fic! Ha. I don't know why but I do quite like naughty James and conflicted Teddy and the lingering love for Harry in this one.

I'm pretty sure people who barely know of my existence here on ye oldie tumblr could still answer this one. 😅 But red.
Which fanfiction emotionally scarred you and still makes you shudder to this day?:
Left in the Darkness by locamohita456. It's an AU fic that sees Desire captured instead of Dream. I can't begin to state how phenomenonal this fic is. But dear god mind the warnings on your way in, it's a hard read in places and left me doing a whole lot of wall staring.

You're getting the same thing my daughters friends get when they visit, which is pizza and icecream. I might even order in. A good time shall be had with no airs and graces expected.

I would have to say lions, but I admire kangaroos particular breed of tomfuckery. I learnt the other day they like to punch over astrophotographers camera/telescopes. And I love that. 😆

The Sandman? 🤔 Well, considering I'd be heading straight for the Garden of Forking Ways to live out my life in its quiet, gothic landscape, I'd probably be fine. It's the most drama free location in the Sandman. Unless Destiny doesn't like visitors... Then it could turn into some weird, horticultural version of It Follows... 😨

I think pretty much everyone I know/would tag has been tagged already, so if you haven't been yet, or if you just want to do this, please do! (Answers are under the cut because 20 questions take up a lot of space)

1,377,748 words! (so 1.3 million!!)
217k of that for this year 😅 but of course I haven't published everything I wrote this year so that number is a LITTLE low.
What fandoms do you write for?
M*A*S*H and The West Wing, primarily.
What are your top five fics by kudos?

I don't usually, and I should, but I get a little overwhelmed. I DO try and leave a thank you note in the end notes of each chapter though, because I love and cherish each comment.
What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I'm admittedly not typically an angst writer, so I had to think hard on this one. I go in usually for bittersweet or even happy endings...
i guess probably 'a wild call and a clear call (that may not be denied)', if only because it's a pon farr fic and Jim and Spock are essentially 'mated' now, but uh. They don't end up together at the end of the fic.
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Ah. see, this is more my speed. I like to think i write realistically happy endings... the happiest ending? I've written many (not enough 'happy endings' wink wink) but the happiest in context, I'd say, is the end of katabasis. a decision is made to keep going, to keep living. i also have a soft spot for you were meant for me (aka Peg sees Singin' in the Rain and decides to choose polyamory).
Do you get hate on fics?
Not so far! But I also don't write particularly controversial subjects on a regular basis... I have had a few comments over the years that misunderstood what I was doing, but I'm reluctant to classify those as hate.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Uh. I write smut. I only publish some of it, because I'm so incredibly self-conscious about it. I want to write more, but I genuinely can't tell if what I'm writing is good/hot or not because I do not have the distance to do it. I'll write smut of all kinds (hell, I have a triad draft with everything from oral to pegging in it. it has not yet seen the light of day) but publishing it is another story. I really want to get better at it, but I have no idea how to get over myself. (it's the religious upbringing/repression/whatever but either way. sucks ass.)
Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I don't typically write crossovers! I have a few that have chewed on my brain for a few years but don't exist yet (M*A*S*H x Star Trek:TOS) plus a few I think would just be funny (Hawkeye running as a third party candidate in the 1998 election in West Wing). But I haven't. Anyway, someday I'm going to write that MASH/Trek crossover and then it's over for all of you.

Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes! My fic "Here's Hoping We Meet Now and Then" (aka BJ gets everyone to help him with the goodbye rocks) was translated into German by my dear friend @vanillatumbleweedscoffee. You can find that translation here.
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I have! And tbh, I love the idea of collaborating more. (HMU). My friend (and beta) and I wrote a Charles/Donna fic back in 2020 or so, called "getting to like you (getting to hope you like me)" and I'm quite fond of it honestly. Plus a few verses that I've contributed to, but I don't know if those count as true collabs... More collabs!!!
What's your all time favorite ship?
Ooh. Probably CJ/Danny, punnihawk (BJ/Peg/Hawkeye), beejhawk and Charles/Donna. No, I'm not narrowing it down any further. (Bisexuals? Choosing ONE thing? no.)
What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Okay. Sad moment of truth: I want to edit and post "make of our hearts, one heart" so badly. But I got so burnt out in the process of writing it, and editing 125,000 words is a particularly daunting task especially considering I think I basically have to rewrite it from the ground up... plus also not knowing if anyone even still wants to read it isn't helping (but that might be all in my head.) Essentially, I want the 125,000 pound albatross removed from its place around my neck. But do I think I'll finish it? I don't know. It has the triad wedding, literally all the smut that's fit to print (pegging! oral! one of my favourite BJ/Peg scenes!)... idk. Is it defeatist? Yes. I want to. I just don't know if I can.
What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue. I think I'm pretty good at getting the vibes of characters. I'm good at coming up with plot concepts, and pretty decent at description. I think I'm good at fleshing out character backstories and giving voices to underutilized characters (Peg, Donna).
What are your writing weaknesses?
Smut. all the way down. (If anyone out there has read my smut and has suggestions on how to improve... hmu). I can fully admit that I struggle with finding what I write hot, I struggle with sexy descriptions and honestly I just feel very self-conscious about the whole process. But I want to get better at it. I just don't quite know how. Is this too honest?
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
The occasional phrases, sure, but the only language I know besides English is French and that's more of an "I can read it" than "I can write it" situation. So overall? no.
First fandom you wrote for?
Lost. (lmao). Followed by Downton Abbey. All of them still linger in their terrible glory on my ffnet account.

I was looking at your pinned post and from the descriptions I didn't see it, but I didn't go into each one, so sorry if you have already talked a bunch about this, but I wanted to ramble on about and see if you had any thoughts/feelings/etc about Yoongi's surgery and the way Jimin acted pretty much throughout.
Like, of course all the members missed him, but I don't think anyone was as vocal as Jimin was about how much he felt Yoongi's absence during group events, and even lives where he talked about it and seemed worried or sad, we know he was pretty sad in general around that time but it really felt like Yoongi's absence affected Jimin a lot. And then, we heard from Yoongi himself how Jimin called him before and after the surgery to make sure he was ok, and that Jimin watched him do physical therapy. I guess that could mean a few things, but I think the general consensus among Yoonminers (honestly, I don't think I've ever seen a non-Yoonminer even acknowledge the physical therapy thing) is that Jimin was there for some of Yoongi's appointments and was maybe taught how to help (going by that one Run episode where he lifts Yoongi to stand and holds his arm in the correct way to keep from hurting him, which signified to a lot of us that he was at least made aware of how to do that).
And then, I haven't actually seen these two things connected, but I have had the thought of how I can't remember who told us, but Jimin or Yoongi telling us that they have been working out together, I have sort of wondered if, other than enjoying spending time together, Jimin having at least some knowledge of what Yoongi may need assistance in regarding working out makes him a good workout buddy for Yoongi, because he was there in the early days too.
That whole time, and the connecting instances feel so important in regards to their relationship, whether you see it at romantic or platonic, I just don't understand the people who say that Yoongi and Jimin aren't that close, or wave them off as nothing special when we have moments like these that I just don't believe can mean anything less than an extremely important and close relationship.
If nothing else, I'm just very happy these two have each other in their lives.

You’ve brought up a lot of great points here! I agree that all of the members missed Yoongi, but Jimin definitely seemed the most vocal. And I think it’s important to note that Yoongi was very vocal in return about Jimin’s support. That shows us it wasn’t simply an issue of Jimin being sad or emotional in general because we see the connection through Yoongi’s words too, not just Jimin’s. Which means that while Jimin seemed particularly affected by Yoongi’s absence, Yoongi also seemed to focus specifically on Jimin’s support.
Your point about working out together is excellent! I hadn’t thought of those two issues being connected, but they certainly could be! I think the first time they discussed it was festa 2021, which would have been post-surgery, so the timing makes sense.
Another thing noteworthy about surgery era was that Jimin seems to have been put in charge of “Yoongi updates and phone calls.” That role could have gone to Joon as leader, but instead it was Jimin who called him during the award show, during the BE-era group live, etc. Jimin served as our source for updates, besides those from Yoongi himself. Like so many yoonmin moments, we can’t say that’s proof of romantic feelings, but it certainly sets Jimin apart as being uniquely familiar with how Yoongi was doing.
I agree that whatever they are—romantic or platonic—their bond is very special. It’s too bad that some people don’t see it, but I think certain parts of the fandom avoid information that doesn’t correspond to what they already believe. I could go on, but this is probably a topic for another post! Anyway, there’s really no way to deny these two are close. The evidence is scattered everywhere across 10+ years!

First one of my SFW ideas I want is a general headcanon of Donnie with a s/o (any pronouns are fine) who is kinda chaotic and hyper but is a sweetheart and loves hearing him infodump about his projects (even though they don’t even know what he’s talking about) Sorry if that’s a strange ask 😅💜

Chaotic S/O and Infodumping Donnie
The s/o and Donnie are a match in chaotic energy. Whenever there was a crazy prank going on it was these two usually behind it but Donnie has a much calmer energy to him than them.
List of things that happened (pulling in effect the other 3 brothers + Casey and sometimes April) California Reaper Pepper challenge, the googly eyes in unexpected places prank, cling wrap Mikey and Raph challenge that got mixed with a 100 layers challenge and most importantly - crazy pizza toppings.
Now with Donnie, the s/o heard from April that he used to infodump a lot in the past but brothers generally either were escaping or (*coughRaphcough*) let him know nobody fucking knows what he is on about, which is rather discouraging so over the years Donnie learned how to "contain" himself around other people.
He's not shy it would most likely be an annoyed huff through his nose and pressing his lips together.
The s/o noticed a couple times that when certain topics are mentioned Donnie perks up and it definitely seems he wants to say something but it quickly dies down and he merely nods along with a frown.
Whenever Donnie would start Infodumping and the brothers would groan the s/o would yell "Shut up! I want to hear this you asshats!!"
Another tactic was blowing up a kazoo whenever Raph would try and interject.
It was a surprise to everyone bc whenever they were at the lair they bounced all over the place, only matching Mikey in the amount of excess energy, so they thought you also would find Donnie lecture time boring.
But no. It was surprisingly soothing.
It took a lot of poking and prodding and gentle encouragement to finally have him talk.
And boy does he talk and the things he knows! He is a walking breathing encyclopedia on certain issues.
The first time he let go the s/o sat there with open mouth. Granted a lot of it went over their head. But what was important was
Donnie's face just lit up. As he spoke he got more and more animated. His hands moving with his mouth to even bouncing on his feet. And then-
"Oh, sorry, I hope I'm not boring you..." He asked suddenly dimming down, shy.
That broke their heart a little. "No! Please keep talking I love listening to you! I love your voice and gosh you know so much!"
That helped him relax and breathe out.
They weren't lying about loving his voice. Whenever their brain would refuse to calm down but you needed to chill you'd go to Donnie to listen to him talk.
Sometimes that was how they'd fall asleep, curled up in his lap.
Now the s/o could say:

Blogs for fics
this is the one I'm most scared I'll forget someone for, but I'll do my best and also preface this by saying that as someone who reads fic in three fandoms, I know there are a lot of great fics out there that I miss because a) I just don't have time b) I don't actually check the ao3 tag very often and c) I don’t tend to read whump or very angsty fics which there is a lot of in this fandom. To find fics, I tend to rely on ao3 subscriptions, seeing fics on my dash (this is why it's important to reblog fic we like!) and recommendations from friends.

I'm looking forward to the moment someone will actually write something awful about my stories, but for the moment I was lucky enough to have only mildly bad comments.

I do but I try to keep it sweet and, apart from some PWPs, it usually takes a lot for my character to get to the smut part: they have to earn it!

I wrote a crossover between The Crow and Stranger Things (It can't rain all the time) and some crossover for a Metalsandwhich event.
The crazy one I wrote is a crossover between Jurassic Park and Kinktober for the Metalsandwich Movie Marathon, but it was so fun! 😂

I started writing in Italian and translated two of my fics into English (one of them being one of the longest fics I wrote).
Never again: it takes forever and it's super boring because I already know the story😅

Ages ago, when I used to write in Italian on another platform I did. It was a LOTR fic Aragorn/Legolas and it was a wonderful experience but I don't think I would be able to do the same in English.

in this moment Steddie, but I'm a big fan of Harringrove and Metalsandwich too.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I'll finish all of them because for me it's a pac.t between me and my readers: they give me their trust and I don't want to disappoint them.

I'm a very fast writer and I try to do my best to be better every time I start a new story
17.What are your writing weaknesses?
I always have to fight a bit with the smut scenes because it's a subtle equilibrium between being too clinical and letting the characters enjoy themselves.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I did it and I can do it easily because I speak four languages but in reality, I used it only one time: if the story needs it it's ok but sometimes it sounds farfetched

The first fic I wrote ages ago was for City Hunter (a Japanese manga), after that, I wrote for Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter.
Now, after almost 15 years, I'm back thanks to Steddie!

hi hi hi!! thank you for asking me these, this is so much fun!! reading back on these answers after I've written them is shocking because I really can just go on and on about stuff, huh? I really don't talk that much irl so I didn't know I had all this in me hahaha I'm so sorry!! I'm actually so embarrassed 😅 I'm gonna put the answer to 11 in a separate post so I can actually attach the picture I'm proud of!

the one ship that's jumping out to me is dramione. I am a huge hater of this ship (sorry sorry sorry if you're reading this and it's your thing I love you and support you!!!) but you guys make some really cool shit and I'm happy you have a community you can share it with!! I've poked around in the ao3 and tumblr tags and its absolutely not for me, but there's some really beautiful and horny stuff out there for this ship and I so genuinely love that for all of you!
16. a tiny detail in canon that you want more people to appreciate
if I'm being totally honest with you, I haven't interfaced with the harry potter canon in a very long time. i already own all the movies and books and stuff, so I wouldn't even be giving jk money by rewatching/reading them, but it just kind of makes my stomach hurt when I think about supporting her in some way. I've had to work through a lot of complicated feelings in regards to jk and harry potter in general, as I'm sure many people have had to do! her words and actions and how I feel about it are not complicated at all, but what to do in the aftermath of it was something I had to figure out. I mean, I have a hp tattoo on my ankle!! my pinned post is about this specifically, but where I've ultimately landed on it all is this: I don't want to let her steal any more joy from me than she already has. there are so many queer and trans people in this fandom creating such incredible stuff, and I just don't want to lose that! I got off on a whole tangent here and definitely have a lot more I could say on the topic, BUT all this to say, I can't really think of tiny hp details anymore!! and in this specific fandom, I'm totally okay with that!

the fandom that I interact with the most is definitely harry potter, but I have a bunch of other stuff I'm super into!!
the whole reason I got back into any fandom–and the entire reason I logged back into Tumblr for the first time since 2018–was because of our flag means death!! I've loved rhys darby since flight of the conchords and was so pumped that he was a lead in an hbo show! I was totally shocked when ofmd turned out to not be queerbait!! something about that first season just flipped a switch in me and I looked for fan fiction for the first time in like, 10 years!! I actually didn't even know about ao3 and tried to go to ff.net and it was a whole thing. getting back into fandom was very intimidating, I'm not gonna lie. (wow I really could just talk forever huh?)
my other fandoms are: the sandman, the witcher, good omens (I was so late to that show but jumped on right before the second season completely on accident), check please!, disco elysium, red dead redemption (especial rdr2), the x files, the walking dead, the rivers of london series, and d&d: honor among thieves.
and then there's some stuff that I don't even know how I got into!! like, the spideypool ship. gang, I've barely seen any marvel movies, I haven't read very many marvel comic books. and I honestly don't plan it because I just don't like marvel (once again, could go on about this forever, I was a manager at my local comic shop and have many opinions). but someone I follow posted about a fic (and I am not immune to beautiful fan art) and then I fell down the rabbit hole!! def have recs if anyone is interested!
another one is the ted lasso fandom. I genuinely don't remember why we never finished watching the second season but then the reviews for the third season was kinda mixed so I never went back to it. and then I saw a writer I'm head over heels for had a ted lasso fic (other lives by @andthepeople) and WHOOPS I fell down another rabbit hole!! i also have ted lasso recs!
essentially, if ya boy's read/watched/listened to something, you know he's gonna go look at what the freaks (affectionate) are posting on ao3.

Stargate SG-1/Sanctuary/The Aviary.
'Bird Cage' is a crossover using the characters from SG-1 and Sanctuary in a world taken from the book The Aviary. Earth is the pleasure planet of the Goa'uld and human women are the main commodity.
Sam ends up in a 'museum' of girls, run by John Druitt and Jack follows her to try and save her. Along the way, they pick of the help of various characters (including Nikola Tesla).
It's not done because of computer problems and will be a five-part series.
It's kind of wild and pretty dark.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of.

No, but I would like to! Technically writing a Supernatural/Hannibal crossover over with tina-mairin-goldstein, but....I'm not really into it? And I was only recruited to right the Supernatural bits.

19. Has anyone ever gotten mad over how you've portrayed an character or over a headcanon or something?
Not directly! Actually, funny story, there was a server I wanted to join (for hetalia) and I wasn't able to, and I assumed it was because a fic I wrote with a sensitive ship that made people uncomfortable, but it turned out to be a misunderstanding, in the end, 😅 I do think I have some fairly controversial portrayals so I'm surprised no one has commented to my face yet! Maybe that'll change someday but I hope not

Sorry to harp but more poc pls and ty <3 it's honestly pretty shocking to me how much the trends have changed, in the past people were insensitive but there was still a general variety in terms of which characters showed up in fandom, whereas now it feels like everyone has an allergy to nonwhite characters... every single fandom for every single nonwhite character is an absolute graveyard, even the ones that were formerly popular are just zombie fandoms where everything you see was made years ago and there are barely any active people nowadays... I'm making stuff yeah, but I sometimes wish I could eat food not my own, yk? It's just a little sad to like a main character and know he's so unpopular he's less popular than pretty much every side character kjfdlghf

I don't like when Arthur Alfred or Francis are nice people lol they're all meanies to me. Tired of how people are like 'sharp and nuanced' Yaoyao and then they make these people nice? No way. They're a mess of cruelty and sharp edges that's just a fact to me.

Ngl.... not really 🗿 I didn't make or do anything I really think is meaningful. I am happy I met a lot of people here but idk about 'proud'

So many places... India has shot up to the top HAHA as has Mongolia and Central Asia. I also want to visit Austria at least once, yes due to Hetalia but more due to my 2016 stint in Hetalia... still counts!

17) Who's your least-liked character in __[insert fandom]__ and why?
Ah, okay, funny thing. I was actually just having this conversation with a mutual like... yeasterday 😅 I don't like Bucky. Simple as that. I don't. He annoys me. His roles in the MCU movies annoy me. Also, maybe I'm broken, but I personally do not see/feel the bond he's supposed to have with Steve. Granted, I have not seen the series with him and Sam, and I have heard that its great! If I watch it my opinion on him might change, but as of now, sorry not a fan 😓 (To be clear, this does not mean that I avoid works with him, idc if he has a supporting character in a fic.)

I love tags! Really, I do; but, the culture of hiding so many good thoughts in tags has gotten a little out of hand imo. I love fun rambling tags (I use them a lot myself) but people put full ass post body worthy content in the tags! It's like we have become afraid to actually reblog a post and add our thoughts to it. And I say we because I'm one of these people. A couple of years ago, we would reblog stuff and put our thoughts on the reblog. Now, they always seem hidden in the tags. The number of posts where people are like, "don't hide these gems in the tags!" and add a screenshot of the tags. We need to start putting our thoughts in reblogs again.
25) Share an unpopular opinion you have RE: fanfiction (writing, culture, etiquette, etc.)
Lol I'm almost afraid to answer this one honestly 🫣 First of all, I fully recognize that my opinion here is unrealistic and unfair, like 100% is not logical. That said, hot take, multichapter stories should be written in full, completed (at least as a rough draft) before any chapters are posted. That way, there is no risk of leaving people on a permanent cliffhanger. Really and truly, this is mostly born from me projecting because I never post multichapter works without having them completed, and have zero faith in myself to finish multichapter fics unless I do it this way. Also, I just personally do not have the attention span to sit wondering if an author will post soon or even finish a fic. Like I said to start with, I know this is an unrealistic expectation and that a lot of authors thrive on the energy of kudos/comments as motivation. But I was asked so there you go. (And no hate to authors with unfinished wips! This issue is my issue, NOT the authors, and is why 99% of the time I stick to completed works and everyone wins and is happy!)
