Wednesday “Honestly, it’s fine,” you reassured him for the seemingly hundredth time.
Daniel’s suitcase was at the door beside yours except the planes you were leaving from in Nice were going in two very different directions.
“It’s not fine,” he muttered as he checked his Passport was in his back pocket before pulling you into his arms. “I was looking forward to seeing your family again. They’re going to be mine soon too.”
You smiled at the reminder and brushed your thumb over the engagement ring. “You’ll see them at Christmas.”
“Not everyone,” he pointed out. The Christmas get together was going to have both of your immediate family members, with his flying out from Australia. “I want to talk to your cousins.”
“What? Why?” You pulled back to see the mischievous look in his eyes and the smile that promised he was up to something.
“Cousins always tell the truth,” he chuckled. “And I want to know what you were really like as a kid.”
“I was a little angel.”
His hands roamed over your body to settle on your ass and he pulled you flush against him as he teased, “What happened?”
You giggled as you rose on your tiptoes and grazed your nose along his throat before resting your lips on his jaw as you teased him right back, “I fell for a man with a wicked tongue.”
You could see the darkening in his eyes and his lips parted with a filthy suggestion on the tip of his tongue but the blaring of an alarm from his jeans drew a groan out instead. “I’m going to have blue balls for the flight now.”
“You should probably take care of that.”
“It’s a 30 minute drive to the airport, Kitten, you could take care of it along the way.”
Tumblr media
It was a strange feeling returning to the town you had grown up in. The streets remained the same, trees lining the curb and kids playing in the front yards, but the faces were all unrecognisable. Like you, most of the people you knew had fled as soon as they finished high school, searching for something bigger than what this place could offer.
Nearly every parking space on the street was taken by your extended family but your dad had saved one for you near the house with the recycling bin. It was a good thing too because Daniel had kind of spoiled you as he walked you to your boarding gate. He hadn’t been able to resist dragging you into the duty free shops in the terminal and now the extra baggage was missing the pair of hands that carried it for you. You had told him it was too much but he just kissed you until you forgot about arguing. It wasn’t fair, you could never win an argument when he cheated like that.
You got the feeling everyone had been waiting for you because the moment your car door closed they all filed out of the house to come and help with your luggage.
“There’s the city-slicker, welcome home,” Vanessa greeted with a kiss on your cheek before pouting as she saw the empty front seat. “Damn, thought you were bringing the sugar daddy with you.”
“Don’t call him that, he’s not my sugar daddy,” you warned with a roll of your eyes but your cousin clearly wasn’t paying attention. “Daniel is with the Red Bull guys in Japan for some big event. He wishes he could come but they called in everyone: Scotty, Liam, Mad Mike, they all had to be there too. ”
Your dad took the suitcase from your hand and nodded understandingly. “That’s a shame, but at least my little girl has finally come home.”
Your bedroom hadn’t changed all that much since you left to go to university and you could see the pin pricks and faded lines in the wallpaper outlining where your posters used to be.
“Ohh, this is gorgeous,” Nessa grinned as she helped herself to the garment bags, the tags still on the designer clothes Daniel had bought you. “So am I going to meet this not-your-sugar-daddy before the wedding?”
“You could come to Christmas if you want, and go ahead, try it on,” you sighed before flinching at the squeak she made before abandoning her clothes like you were still kids and stepping into the first dress. “Nice to see you haven’t outgrown stealing my clothes.”
“There’s a reason we are the same size, it's fate. Karma herself said, Nessa, you deserve to wear nice things too,” she joked as she turned around. “Do me up?”
“You are so full of shit,” you laughed as you zipped her up. “Am I going to get that back?”
“Do you have a sugar daddy?”
“No.”
“Well there's your answer.”
Tumblr media
Friday “Hey Kitten,” Daniel greeted with a bright smile when the video call connected. “How’s it going?”
You leaned the phone against your mirror so you could continue to apply your makeup and held up two shades of lipstick. “Just getting ready to go out with Nessa. How’s the event? I haven’t seen many pictures.”
“Left hand, and you won’t - they are keeping everything under wraps until they have finished filming. Think the Melbourne GP promo vid, but bigger…”
You opened the lipstick he chose, the one you knew he would since he always complimented the shade on you - and when it transferred to his skin too. He fell silent as he watched you lean closer into the mirror, leaving the swell of your breasts filling his screen.
“Kitten…I wish I was there,” he sighed when you pulled back and blew him a kiss to show the colour off.
“I wish you were here too,” you admitted, taking the phone with you as you sat on the bed and hugged your pillow. “Two days down, four to go.”
“You’re still counting in days? I’m counting in hours, fuck it, minutes.” He sent you a screenshot and you saw the countdown timer on his homescreen, the hours and minutes slowly ticking away until you were reunited. “Where are you and Nessa going? Is Carter going too?”
You shook your head at the question. Vanessa’s brother was far too busy with his new girlfriend to want to go to the local bar. “He’s too cool to hang out with us at the Old Oak Inn.”
Daniel sat up a little straighter and didn’t appear too pleased at the news. “Is anyone going with you?”
“Ness.”
“You know what I mean,” he huffed, “who is going to look out for you two?”
“Everyone knows everyone here, baby, we’ll be fine.” You gave him a smile as your chest warmed with the same gooey feeling you got every time he worried about you. “I love you, my protective he-man.”
“I love you too, Kitten,” his face softened until he heard Max calling his name outside his hotel door. “Send me lots of pictures, baby, I wanna see my gorgeous girl having fun.”
Nessa burst into the room as you ended the call and ripped the pillow away from your arms. “Get up, bitch, the taxi is here.”
The bar had changed a lot since you last went, the atmosphere more akin to a club than a pub, and you narrowed your eyes at Nessa who just grinned back. “You said it was a chill night out.”
“I lied,” she said with a shrug. “We can go back if you’d rather get in a fight over monopoly?”
You cringed at the thought so she dragged you through the busy room and straight to the bar.
“Holy shit, we have royalty in the house,” an old school friend greeted as he tended to the bar. “Did Monaco get too busy?”
“Not quite, Mark, I’m just back for a family reunion.” He placed your old favourite drink down without having to ask and you quirked an eyebrow at it.
“I have a good memory, but it might taste better than it did in the old plastic cups we drank out of,” he laughed before pouring a bourbon for Nessa. “Milady.”
He wandered off to serve someone else and you turned to Nessa. “You and Mark?”
“A few times, you know, just a bit of fun,” she said as she winked at him when he glanced back. “Oh, head down, Andrew’s here.”
You ducked into her arms and kept your head down until she said you were safe and sighed with relief. “Jesus, everyone really does come here. Is there any other bar around?”
“If you want to catch an STD off the bar top, sure. Plus, your high school sweetheart will probably find his way to Ruby’s later anyway.”
“We dated for like four months, I wouldn’t call him my highschool sweetheart,” you scoffed.
Nessa’s brow lifted. “Need I remind you he took your V Card? Your first always has a teeny tiny place in your heart.”
“Not mine, and Danny took my A Card so that trumps it.”
“A Card…?” she trailed off before her eyes widened in realisation. “Ew gross. Did it hurt?”
“I’m not telling you anything.”
“Whatever, we both know how you get after a few drinks.” She grabbed your phone and held it up as she raised her glass and you clinked them together before tipping them back. “Perfect. And done.”
You barely caught your phone as she carelessly tossed it back and you saw she hadn’t sent it to Danny but uploaded it to Instagram. “Fucksake, Nessa, you left the location on.”
You had learned quite quickly that most of the people that followed you only used it to see updates Daniel might not have posted himself, including using the locations of your posts thinking Daniel would be with you. It had led to a few scary situations before you learned to keep your location off or at least generalised - but she had tagged the Old Oak Inn.
Taking another photo with a pout, you posted it with the caption, ‘half of my soul is half a world away, miss you danielricciardo’ and hoped it would stop some people within driving distance from making the pointless journey hoping to see Danny.
Tumblr media
You opened the photo again and zoomed in to see Andrew in the background, his eyes clearly looking at your ass when the camera snapped.
Tumblr media
“What made you happy all of a sudden?” Nessa asked as she returned with fresh drinks.
“Danny’s on his way,” you giggled nervously as you clutched your phone to your chest.
“I thought he couldn’t come.”
“He couldn’t, and he shouldn’t, but I don’t think there’s anyone with the balls to stop him. He can be a little stubborn sometimes.” It was a severe understatement and if he wasn’t such a good driver you were certain he would have been fired for some of the escapades he found himself in because he got a little overprotective and possessive when he was away from you. “Christian Horner offered me a job just so I could be wherever Daniel was and keep him in line, but I think it was a joke.”
“You need to accept it, joke or not, your man is whipped for you.”
You took a sip of your drink before you spilled the truth about who really did the whipping and pondered the idea you had initially laughed off. You could still work a similar role with Red Bull, so maybe it shouldn’t have been brushed off so quickly. For tonight, you would focus on having fun with Nessa and catching up with old friends.
Tumblr media
Saturday You groaned at the dawn light that brightened the room as the curtains were ripped aside and rolled over. “Nessa, piss off.”
“Something bothering you, kitten?”
You probably looked like a zombie coming to life as you threw your blankets back and rushed up to meet Daniel as he climbed onto the bed. The old frame creaked unused to the extra weight on it but you didn’t care if it collapsed, you weren’t letting go of Daniel once he was in your arms.
“You’re actually here,” you murmured against his lips when you finally broke apart to breathe. You had kept looking over your shoulder all night expecting him to appear but when the bar closed and he still hadn’t arrived your hope had simmered down.
His smile was blinding as he brushed your messy hair back and buried his face in your neck with a deep inhale. He was a cat high on catnip the moment his nose brushed your racing pulse and he guided you back into the sheets as he caged you beneath him. “Told you I’d see you soon.”
“My parent’s room is next door,” you whispered as his hips settled between your legs and he teased you when he rolled them against you.
“Then I suggest you find something to bite,” he chuckled, his fingers slipping into your panties and feeling how your body had instantly reacted to his touch, “because I have missed you so much. I just need to feel you around me. right now.”
His lips parted and he sighed at the pretty sight as he dragged your panties down your legs. “There’s my pretty kitty,” he mused as he shuffled down the bed so he could settle between your legs, kissing your thighs softly as he reacquainted himself after three days apart. “Have you missed me?”
“Like crazy.”
“She thinks I’m talking to her,” he whispered and you felt the warmth of his breath on the sensitive spot he was confessing to. You giggled at the silly man and squirmed with the silent plea for him to stop talking and do more, the bed creaking with the movement. Daniel grabbed your hips and held them still so the bed fell silent before shaking his head with an amused smirk. “Impatient little minx.”
Rather than take the taste you knew he wanted, he flipped you onto your knees and pushed your head into the pillow to silence the sounds that spilled forth as he curled two fingers into your cunt. A few flicks of his wrist were the only preparation he gave your body before his shorts were halfway down his thighs and he replaced his fingers with his cock.
Your pillow heated with the heavy moan that filled it and it grew damp as your teeth clamped down on the satin slip. It had only been three days but the burn of the stretch danced the fine line between pleasure and pain until he reached around your hip and found your clit.
“Fuck you’re tight, kitten,” Daniel grunted, his lip almost bleeding as he bit it to keep quiet and pulled back a little so you could acclimate to his size again. “You okay, baby?”
You answered by pushing yourself back, needing him as much as he needed you, and you relished in the full feeling when your ass met his body. His heavy breathing broke the quiet morning and he covered your back, pressing his lips to your spine and following the line to your neck.
“Lay down for me.”
Unwilling to part with you for a moment, he helped you onto your stomach and carefully shifted until his legs were outside of yours and your thighs pressed together. The pillow muffled your moans as the position increased the feeling of fullness and he rode you with long smooth strokes, keeping the bed from creaking.
“Three days was too much, kitten,” he confessed quietly as he kissed your shoulder. “I can’t go a day without you. Want you with me, always.”
Despite the exhaustion of the late night and early wake up, you weren’t able to get back to sleep, even with Daniel there to spoon you. A knock at your door had put an end to that plan and you were reminded that everyone was getting ready to go to the lake for a day out on the water.
Everyone except Vanessa were surprised to see Daniel joining you for breakfast and you got the best pick of the cooked meal while they all fawned over the celebrity.
“Alright, alright, leave him be,” you said as you moved them along and handed him a plate you had filled before sitting on his lap. Seats were in short supply with so many people coming and going that you were happy to share one. “I know he’s a bit weird but try to treat him normally.”
“Morning, Sugar,” Nessa teased quietly as she took the seat beside him.
“Ness…meet Daniel, officially,” you said, since she had seen him on a video call.
“We met this morning, didn’t we, Sugar? Who do you think let him in? We had a great chat about you.”
She was finding it too amusing and Daniel’s shoulder bounced with a laugh as he stuffed bacon into his mouth to avoid commenting. “I thought you were joking.”
“I told you, cousins always tell the truth,” he chuckled before kissing your cheek. “She didn’t tell me anything new though; I already knew you were smart and beautiful.”
“She was just saying that so she could keep the Givenchy dress she stole.”
“Pfft, not true, but I can totally play it up if you want to part with the Jimmy Choos too.” She turned her attention to Daniel who had been thoroughly enjoying the interaction while idly massaging your hip. “Did she tell you that she climbed up a tree to save a cat? The fire department gave her a medal for it. Or this one time she single-handedly stopped a bank robbery.”
“Oh my god,” you snorted at the absurdity.
“Don’t get me started on how she took down an international crime syndicate with a muscle car.”
“Who am I? Vin Diesel? Just shut up.”
“No, no, give me more,” Daniel encouraged. “I thought Lando was imaginative but this is next level.”
You could see the moment her train of thought was lost and a sly smile grew. “Think you could introduce me?”
“To Lando? No way, you would eat him alive.”
“Come on, I introduced you to Drew so you owe me.” You felt Danny’s hand stop the calming circles and wished she had kept her mouth shut as he asked who Drew was. “Andrew, her first boyfriend, well only boyfriend before you, I thought you would have known, my bad.”
Breakfast was fairly quiet after that and you knew Daniel had questions he was just waiting to ask when he got you alone. Fortunately, you could put them off for a few hours as you all set off to the lake, the distraction of you in a bikini enough to placate him in the meantime.
“So this Andrew…” he stated as he pulled you into his arms and waded out deeper into the warm water. “Why haven’t I heard about him?”
“Because it was years ago?”
“Did you love him?”
“I was 17, I didn’t know what love was,” you laughed as you combed your fingers through his hair. “Are you jealous?”
“No,” he scoffed, but it was clearly a lie.
“Baby, you’re the only man I have ever loved, and the only one I will ever love - with one exception.” His eyes narrowed and you giggled as you kissed his cheek. “If we have a kid someday and it’s a boy, then I would love him too.”
The corners of his eyes wrinkled with the smile that split his face. “I suppose I could live with that.”
“Good, so forget about Andrew. You are everything I want and need.”
“So long as I don’t have to cross paths with the bastard that took your innocence.”
There were only two days left before you flew back to Monaco, what were the chances?

SEATBELT
Your vision line was impaired for a brief moment, but you could still feel his eyes on you; the way you were watched closely, your every move waited upon and calculated as if you were a puzzle that he was trying to solve. Your observations were just as canny, if not more, as you took a moment to take in your surroundings within an enclosed cabin of the subway to San Fransisco. The afternoon commute was busier than usual - passengers taking up every minuscule inch of occupancy, bodies feeding into the claustrophobia of limited seating. It was amazing how a sea of people from every platform could filter into such a small space so easily. Fresh air was non-existent and it caused your heart to thump and brows to furrow in distress. The knuckles of your right hand were screaming in pain from clutching the hanging strap too tight, and every bump the cabin passed caused your stature to falter and your footing to become unbalanced. Your time at work was bad enough as it was, but standing and waiting for a seat overtook every stressful event of your day with ease. Your eyes fluttered around for a vacant spot, but were met again with the large brown gaze that hid behind glass frames - the first time you saw them, your cheeks grew flushed, until you realised their motive. The owner, a man with matching annoyance clutching at every facial feature, was making sure that you didn't get the first seat before him. Smug bastard.
It was as if he could read your mind; his body stiffening, ready to pounce despite how his shoulder ached with a heavy bag that slung deeply. His day, too, was challenging - trying to meet quotas on a mind-blank of ideas wasn't something he often faced, yet it had been his daily norm for nearly a week. He desired to sit, to rest his legs and to take that relieving deep breath that was much warranted when the evening came. Nobody else in your peripherals was awake enough for a battle of comfort, which made this fight fit best for the quickest and most cunning.
The next stop was approaching and people began to stand as they awaited their further commute home. Your surroundings shifted, bodies repositioning as they slid around you like Tetris - confined tensions forcing your eyes closed as you drew a deep breath. You loved your job, truly, but the hour commute to and from was less than ideal. You were forced in between strangers and moments away from your throat closing with nervous energy before the train finally began slowing its pace, and you released relieving exhale of panicked breath in time with the opening of your carriage doors.
Congestion was imminent, however, your brief layover finally allowed carriage breathing room - and the possibility of the much-awaited available spot. As people began to vacate, you spotted a free seat and it was as if your heart sang in solace with laser-eyed focus and feet ready to lunge. You held on to your bag tightly as you pressed forward, small pleasantries slipping past your lips as you dodged other passengers.
You could feel the soft seating before you even sat down, you were dreaming of it for the past thirty minutes - but the plushness of the seat wasn't what you expected when you realised that the man with the glasses and observant eyes was where you managed to place yourself. Your own eyes widened in shock, voice unable to emit after you glanced down to his cocky smirk.
With a small growl, your brows furrowed at him, "No, no! This is my seat, go somewhere else."
"Sorry sweetheart, I was here first." His voice was mocking, a daring tone that effortlessly portrayed just how much he didn't care. To further affirm his unwillingness to move, the stranger's body sunk snugly against the padded bench with a loud and restful sigh. His competitiveness continued to shine through with a cocky quirk of his lips, "I'm not giving this up."
Fire burned in your eyes, an anger brewing that started much earlier in your day. You were exhausted and irritated, and games were far from what you were prepared to face at this moment. A pout prompted your lips to purse and brows to drop, and for a second you felt like a four-year-old standing their ground during a tantrum.
"Well, I'm not, either."
The man just nodded, quick to ignore your presence as he pulled his phone from his jacket pocket and began immersing himself in the small screen. You couldn't decide what was more awkward - the fact that he wasn't acknowledging your place on his lap or the way that you were sitting to the curve of his knees in absolute unsteadiness. One rickety bump and you'd find yourself on the floor.
Fate wasn't on your side; a running gag that life decided to throw at you once again today, in the form of the old train rocking and your legs sliding away from the glasses-wearing stranger. You expected the embarrassment of numerous eyes watching you collide with the cabin floor, but it never came as arms wrapped around your waist and pulled you backwards.
It took a second for you to realise that the outside of your thigh was snug against the stranger's stomach, his hands now flat over your side and against the bottom curve of your ribs as he held you close to him. He was your human seatbelt, holding you back and keeping you safe. It provoked warmth to shoot through your veins, to awaken the butterflies in your stomach and to colour the rosiness in your cheeks. It felt nice, despite the fact that he was a stranger with a stupid smug smile and filled with utter cockiness.
"Woah, nearly lost you there." He mumbled, a softness peeking through. It was easy to follow the caramel swirl of his eyes as they gazed over your face for any sort of discomfort, but you both seemed in the clear, and his shoulders dropped in relief. They looked down for a brief second before he smiled again, "Us googlers gotta stick together, you know."
Your head tilted to the side, every ounce of your focus now directed only toward him, "What?"
"Your lanyard." Hesitantly, he pulled a hand away from your side and tugged at the multicoloured fabric dangling from your neck, a plastic key card with a four-month-old photo of you sitting to the side. When he saw you following his touch, he hastily found his own within his zipped-up jumper and dangled it between you both. "Got a matching one. We're practically family."
Black letters caught your eyes first, the name of the man filling in another puzzle piece as you said it aloud, "Stuart Twombly, software development."
"That's me." He replied, a wink dropping behind his glasses and hold absentmindedly tightening as another small bump disrupted the cabin. Everything was coming together for you; no wonder he seemed full of himself, a handful of people you know from that department certainly have a big head and a matching ego. Your mind awoke from your thoughts when you felt your lanyard tugging again. Stuart hummed, "Y/N L/N, accounting. Interesting."
"How so?" You said quickly, offence already settling in your voice.
"You just got to be really smart to be an accountant for one of the biggest companies in the world."
Your head shook as your body readjusted yourself on his lap, "I'm not an accountant... yet. It's just a paid internship. But I'm sure you don't want to hear about any of that - "
"An internship?" Stuart's eyes lit up, his smile genuine as the corners of his lips lifted, "I know a thing or two about internships, try me."

‘I think you’re cute’
Tumblr media
(In honor of @entertainmentgal8 who gave this wonderful idea!)
Robert ‘Bob’ Floyd x black curvy reader (nickname- Koko)
Warnings: sass and fluff... anything else?
Summary: Who knew that Bob would be sorta intimidated by confident girls? Well, with Jake’s help which was a shove, Bob falls into the lovely hands of a friendly stranger.
Climbing out of her white convertible, Koko fluffed her short, shiny jet black hair that had gotten a little crazy due to the strong winds while driving down Fighter Town. The hot beaming sun shone down on her smooth bare shoulders, as she wore a spaghetti strap yellow blouse, a color that made her walnut colored skin glow beautifully. Koko had decided to come to California for a short vacation and visit her mother, wanting to take a break from books and numbers, after graduating with a Masters in Business and Financing back at Springfield, Georgia. At  first she wasn’t too sure about her choice of place to spend her free time at Hard Deck after her mother decided to call the day short, but soon she’d learn that it had been the best decision ever. Upon walking in, Koko was met with the jolly music playing through the speakers, it wasn’t familiar she thought, but still enjoyed a little bit of a twist when it came to different versions of music. What she did quickly notice though, was how a lot of the customers there were either wearing green flight suits or Naval khakis, making her realize immediately when she saw the decorated wall full of Naval badges and pictures,
‘This must be a Sailor’s hangout place... how cool.’
Koko admired the many mugs that hung on the ceiling, and loved the view as she took a seat at the bar, waiting to get her order taken, she didn’t even know what to get, so she just figured that she’d ask the beautiful woman that just appreciate her with a lovely voice,
“Hi dear, I’m Penny. What can I get for you?”
Penny’s warm smile made Koko feel more at ease as she asked,
“What’s the best refreshing drink I can get here, maybe something that’s not necessarily alcohol but still good?”
Perking her eyebrows Penny looked at the shelf’s behind her as she sighed,
“Well, I can see if I can make you something interesting, give me a second, please.”
 Koko sent her a nod,
  “Of course, thank you.”
Just then she heard the door swing open and loud laughters filled the room as the new customers entered. Koko watched intently as she witnessed a tall brunette walk in with a well kept mustache in a Hawaiian shirt, along with another tall man who was a blond, with a toothpick sticking out of his lips barley hanging off his pink tongue. They pushed each other playfully while calling one another teasing names, but soon behind them walked in a short cute guy, with his glasses resting on the bridge of his nose as he was looking down trying to fix his belt that kept his khakis up. Koko was entertained for a moment as she watched him fiddle with his belt for quite a minute, though it was cute to watch him so concentrated that even a small line appeared between his brows and his tongue barely poked out his lips. A Texan accent drew Koko out of her daze when it was drawled in her direction,
“Howdy there ma’am, who’s got ya here looking pretty today?”
Realizing that he was clearly flirting and giving his attention to her, Koko smiled confidently as she sat up,
“This is only for me sir.. how about yourself?”
Smiling broadly at Koko’s sass while adding a wink, he puffed his chest and extended his hand to her,
“Same here darling, I’m Jake by the way.”
Shaking it firmly enough Koko replied,
“I’m Koko, you must be a Naval Aviator right?”
Taking in by surprise that she knew who he was, Jake couldn’t help but ask as he took a set next to her,
“My my I hardly have anyone outside of the Navy telling me who I am, but I’m honored. Anyways, how’d you know specifically?”
Knowing that she could count on her smarts when it came to these things Koko simply said,
“Oh I didn’t know, I just put the pieces together now. Though It’s kinda obvious when your wearing a Wings badge right over your chest, it pretty much symbolizes what you do.”
Letting out a surprised huff, Jake took in Koko’s appearance and smiled,
“Well you must have the whole package then.”
Quirking an eyebrow at Jake Koko hummed,
“Oh really? And what does a whole package come with to you?”
With a cheeky grin Jake replied honestly,
“Brains and beauty Koko, brains and beauty. Not everyone has both, but you seem to be an exception to that.”
With a proud smile Koko put forth,
“I must be Mother Natures favorite then, Jake.”
A hearty laugh was let out as Jake threw his head back, he couldn’t get enough of how sassy and confident Koko was, she wasn’t like other girls, who were shy and needed everyone’s approval, Koko knew who she was and stood by it proudly. Soon Penny came back and questioned,
“Does a root beer sound good to you? It’s the best on in town I’ll tell you that.”
Koko felt a wave of satisfaction hit her as her mouth watered,
“Sounds perfect to me, I’ll take one.”
 Penny smiled happily,
“Great! Now what can I get for you Hangman?”
Jake placed his card on the table while ordering,
“I’ll open a tab for my boys and I, and I’ll start with a light beer for now.”
Picking up a cool bottle from the fridge Penny handed to him as he thanked her then yelled for Bob,
“Thanks Penny. Hey Bob! Come over here and grab something.”
Koko followed Jake’s fingers that pointed towards the person he called Bob, and a warm fuzz of butterflies filled her tummy when she locked eyes with the person she was entertained with earlier. His bright blue eyes soon looked away from Koko’s warm brown ones as he felt a rush of shyness go through his system, unbeknownst to him made Koko feel a pinch of sadness of the thought that he couldn’t bare the sight of her. Even though she was pretty confident about herself, she still couldn’t help but feel a little hint of self consciousness, Koko was pretty curvy, had her short ack hair, along with cute earrings that covered her ears. She had seen the others girls that filled the seats in Hard Deck, and they were nothing like her, they were more taller and slim, lighter skin, looking more attractive than her she thought. But soon Bob came trailing around shyly as he watched Penny from the other side of the bar preparing Koko’s root beer, he couldn’t tell what it quite was yet, so he watched curiously. A few seconds later Penny came back and placed the cool root beer in front of Koko as she said sweetly,
 “Enjoy dear.”
 “Thank you Penny.”
Koko mirrored Penny’s smile as she began to take a long sip of her delicious drink, and quickly relishing its goodness. Bob had watched Koko the entire time as she drank her root beer, to shy to ask what drink it was so he could get one too. You see, Bob was always a quiet one, not really talking much and staying in his own comfort square, and asking a complete stranger (though very beautiful to him) about what drink she was having was too much for him. But Jake came to the rescue when he nudged Bob’s side and whispered to him subtly,
“You’re never going to be heard if you don’t speak, just ask. I promise you she’s really cool.”
Bob looked at Jake with a glimpse of fear, shaking his head while stuttering,
“A-Are you kidding me? M-Me.. talking to her is a joke, I’m totally out of her league perhaps, she probably likes strong and confidently guys like you, not quirky and n-nerdy guys like me Bagman-“
Jake huffed under his breath as he threatened Bob,
“Just shut up and ask, or I’ll ask for you and make you look like a total shy baby that has 4 eyes! Go!!”
Hangman giving Bob a light shove was enough to catch Koko’s attention as Bob steadied himself on the chair that was right next to her. Hangman walked away towards Rooster while hoping that his shove helped Bob out of his comfort zone. And Koko being the sweet and attentive person she was, asked him nicely,
 “Oh! are you ok?”
The death of Bob was the moment he heard Koko’s sweet words that were directed to him, and he completely went blank as he stood there leaning on the stool he almost fell on. Koko smiled at him with confidence to show him that she was ok with him around her, and proved it more when she innocently giggled at his confused face as she fixed his glasses back in there place carefully while saying,
“You might want to check your glasses sweetie, might need better ones, so you’re not tripping over.”
Hearing her sweet sass made Bob break his ice easily, as he retorted back,
“Oh- oh no.. I uh, was blinded by...”
Koko raised a brow at him as she waited for him to finish his sentence, which came with a shock as he spurted out,
“I was blinded by your beauty.”
Koko sent him a face of awe as she pushed her hair behind her ear,
“Oh is that so... well, I’ll be here to catch you every time you fall for my beauty.”
Sending him a wink afterwards only made his heart swoon as he let out a cute, short chuckle, grateful to know that she took his words kindly,
  “Oh! Well, thank you..”
“No thank you... why don’t you take a seat.. I’m Koko.”
Bob quickly sat down as he shook her hand gently,
  “I’m Bob, uh- it’s a pleasure Koko.”
“Likewise Bob, so what brings you here?”
Bob sighed gratefully once again to know that Koko was kind and talkative, making his social skills a little bit easier to get out, as he replied,
“I just got back from training today.. I’m in the Navy.”
Sending him a nod of approval Koko said,
  “A Naval Aviator correct?”
Excited to know that she knew what he did, he replied,
“Yeah! Exactly. H-How about you? I’ve never seen you here.”
2 hours then had passed as Koko and Bob chatted back and forth about one another’s lives and how they got to Hard Deck that very day. Bob was happy to know that Koko was quite the brains like he was, they were able to relate in a lot of things when it came to learning and education. Koko had even let him get a taste of her drink which soon convinced him to get his own glass that never went empty for the rest of the evening as they happily got to know each other more. Hangman watched in the distance and was proud to see that his planned worked, as Koko laughed happily with Bob as he talked so freely with her, like if they had known each other for years and years. When Bradley got with playing the piano after being paid by Hangman to do so, only because he wanted to see Bob and Koko get closer, he was even more excited when he saw Bob take Koko’s hand lovingly and pull her towards the open space and began to show her some moves as they danced while laughing like carefree teenagers. Koko could feel how nervous he was to lay his hands on her as they danced, but she did the move for him when she placed her hands in his own, and led them to rest on her curvy hips, Bob was wide eyed once he realized where exactly his hands were, but was calmed when Koko reassured him,
“You don’t have to if you don’t want to, that’s ok.”
Bob was quick to let her know that this was all he wanted,
“Oh I’m completely happy- well fine with this- y-you know what I mean right?”
His nervous giggles were enough to convince Koko that this was probably Bob’s first time ever doing this, so she asked him,
“You’ve never danced with a girl Bobby?”
Calling him Bobby made a blush creep his cheeks as he replied honestly,
“Well, not with someone as great and beautiful as you. I was too scared to approach you at first.. I thought you might take me as a weirdo or something, because you’re so confident and amazing.”
 Koko awed,
“Awe Bob, well you actually had caught my eye sense the moment you walked in. I thought- well actually I think you’re very cute.”
Bob squeezed Koko’s hips lovingly as he replied back with a new confidence,
“And I think you’re cute too... I really want to know you more.”
Feeling bubbly inside Koko smiled as he raked his hands through her hair to put it behind her ears so he could see her face and earring he had grown to love as well, as she said,
“I’d like to get to know you more too.”
When the bar was up to close, Bob walked Koko out of Hard Deck whole holding her arm as the walked down the steps, ever the gentleman Bob was. Once he took Koko to her car, he asked politely while looking at her doe eyes that beamed along with her skin that shone brightly under the moonlight,
“I’d like to take you out some time... whenever you’re free... is that ok?”
Tip-toeing to peck his cheek lightly, Koko replied,
“Of course that’s ok.. let me write you down my number and mom’s address on this receipt, I’ll be staying with my mom for quite a while, as I visit here.”
Quickly Koko hand wrote her number and address, soon slipping it in Bob’s hands which he took and held onto it tightly, like if it was a precious diamond or his source to breathe. Koko then got into her car, and let Bob close the door for her after she was settled in, he looked down at her as she smiled happily at him, he made his most confident move when he bent down and laid a sweet kiss on her head, and said afterwards,
“I’ll see you soon Koko... thank you for tonight.”
“I’ll see you soon too... and you’re welcome. Thank you as well for being so sweet and you.”
Waving to her goodbye as she began to pull away, Bob bid,
  “Goodnight! Drive safe.”
“Goodnight Bob! Text me when you’re home!!”
  “I will!!”
Five minutes after walking inside her mothers home, Koko still felt all warm and giddy, remembering every word he said, every touch, even the kiss he left on her head. A large smile grew on her face when her phone beeped, and she read the new message,
‘Hi Koko! This is Bob, I made it home! Did you?’
Quickly replying Koko typed,
‘Hi Bobby, yes I did! I’m glad you’re home.’
‘Same here for you. Oh, I just checked in with my boss, and I have a free day Saturday, maybe I can have the day with you?’
Thinking about it for a quick moment, Koko then remembered that her mom had a girls night with her aunts that day, meaning she’d be free sense her mom would be with her aunts, so she happily agreed,
‘I’m free that day! So yes, sounds fantastic!’
‘Great!! I’ll come and pick you up at 12pm!! Goodnight Koko☺️’
‘Perfect, ’ll be ready for you!! Goodnight Bobby😊’

Random facts about Monet. <3
Tumblr media
Couldn’t help myself, I drew an older Monet. I love this bab so much. She deserves the world. Raph is definitely a proud papa. And Kristina feels lucky to have raised such a strong young woman. 😊❤️
I’ll be doing Nefertiri next, so stay tuned for that! ^~^
I drew this quite a while ago, I just never had the time/chance to post it. But since my job is done with, hopefully I’ll have more time to come online. See my pinned post for more details hehe. There’s quite a bit that went down the past couple weeks. I’m on vacation rn, so I won’t have a ton of time, but I’ll come on when I can! Expect to see a lot of spam from me because my notifications are overflowing— I’m talking way over 500 lol. So if I accidentally missed something you tagged me in, I apologize profusely. 😫 (also I am in no way trying to brag or anything about how many notifications I have, if it felt or seemed like that I’m sorry that’s not my intention I’m just trying to explain why I might miss something someone wanted me to see— 😅)

Have a wonderful day/night! Sending all the virtual hugs to you!! <333
- She was named after Claude Monet, a famous French painter.
- She is super strong, like really freaking strong. (Mystic power strong?) She can take a hit and she can deliver one too. When sparring with her sister (Nefertiri) she has to continuously remind herself to take it easy and not use her strength to its fullest. Otherwise she could accidentally really hurt her. This probably goes for other family members as well, especially those that are human and can’t really handle the brunt of her attacks when she is using 100% of her strength.
- Monet loves her strength but sometimes she’s scared she’ll accidentally hurt someone. (Something that’s happened on a few occasions, especially when she’s upset/angry or overly excited, she tends to forget how strong she really is) so she usually dials her strength down a lot if she can remember to. One of her biggest fears is to accidentally go too far and really hurt someone she cares for.
- Definitely a secret softy. Very few people in her inner circle have seen this side of her. It’s not something she’s comfortable with sharing. However, a lot of her family and friends knows she’s like this. She just heavily denies it. (Classic Raphael move hehe)
- She has anger issues and they only get worse the older she gets. She can be very violent and sometimes needs a reminder to take a step back and breathe. This is usually given to her by one of her family members.
- She is not afraid to put anyone in their place. She will speak her mind, no matter the consequences. Her bark is just as big as her bite. Monet is brutally honest and has a hard time keeping her mouth shut. She will snark the shit out of someone and loves a good banter. She loves to poke fun and tease people and doesn’t mind it if they do so in return.
- Please challenge her to an arm wrestling battle or spar with her. She loves it and will forever be your friend.
- Hates bitter and overly spicy or sour foods. She has an enormous sweet tooth. Loves baked goods, chocolates and candies. (All except the sour ones) Also prefers cold foods/drinks over hot ones. For example, iced coffee over hot coffee. Or milk/boba teas over regular hot tea.
- A good way to get on her good side is by bringing/making her something sweet. Whether you bake her some cookies or buy her a boba tea. Whatever. She might not show it right away, but she would be very grateful and happy about it.
- Loves to pull jokes and prank people, especially with her cousin Noa ( @rheawritesforfun ‘s OC).
- Monet is obsessed with horror/gore. She loves the genre, they’re always her favourite movies/books/video games. Halloween is her favourite Holliday. She goes all out for it. Candy and horror? That’s her shit! And it’s one of the only times she gets to be out on the surface. Which is awesome.
- Second favourite Holliday is April fools/Loki day. Everyone dreads the first of April because they know it’s about to go down. She prepares months in advance and anyone and everyone she knows will be suffering from her pranks. No matter who you are or how old you may be. No one if safe on that day. She goes all out.
- Bares her teeth at people often. Monet has sharp canines like her father, and sometimes they poke out of her mouth. But when she’s angry or in a bad mood, she will bare her teeth threateningly at people. Especially when she’s fighting.
- Queen of resting bitch face. Even when she’s in a good mood she’ll look the opposite.
- Often tells people to go fuck off or to go fuck themselves. Her mum hates her potty mouth, but Monet loves to curse/swear. She likes to come up with weird or creative comebacks too.
- Just like her mother, she is not the best singer. She’s definitely better than Kristina is, maybe even average? But she wouldn’t consider herself as someone with a good/great singing voice.
- Shows her affection with actions rather than words. Doesn’t hug often, but she will give head pats (or ruffle someone’s hair) as signs of her love and adoration. Same thing goes for fist bumps and secret hand shakes n stuff. If she is more physical with someone, they better not mention it because she’ll most likely immediately pull away and brush them off out of embarrassment. If someone continuously teases her about it, she’d snap angrily and storm off.
- Monet will get into a physical fight with someone. She tends to lash out and sometimes it can get quite aggressive. She gets better at storming off and walking away the older she gets, but it’s definitely very hard for her to do so. Her anger isn’t a party trick. It’s serious. And it’s something she battles with every day.
- She also tends to rant/vent A LOT to those she’s closest to. (Noa is definitely one of em lol) she doesn’t like to express her feelings openly to most people but she will to a select few. And those select few better be prepared for an ear full.
- HATES being bossed around and controlled. Especially if it’s involving someone she doesn’t like, or if she’s forced to do something she doesn’t want to. If it’s an order, she will do it. She’ll just bitch about it while doing so.
- Door slams are very common with Monet. And because of her strength, she has broken waaay more than anyone would care to admit. There’s a jar labeled “Monet’s doors” filled with cash from Monet because she usually has to pay for a new one. Or at least, help pay for one. It’s like a swear jar but with doors. They’ve given up on her swearing long ago hehe.
- Monet can be described as being erratic emotionally. She is daring, brave, and free spirited but she can also be quite sardonic and sarcastic. And of course, a classic rebel. She is very athletically adept, and can be quite friendly/kind to her family and friends. However, Monet is also very willful, stubborn, incredibly rude and aggressive. She is also the most relentless out of her siblings. It is her relentless ferocity that makes her such a deadly fighter.
- Monet loves to fight, wrestle, and trash the place. If there’s a brawl, she would love to join in the fight. Because of her passion for fighting, she would fight first and reflect and ask questions later.
- She can also be very cocky and competitive. When she wins games and duels against her friends and family, she will rub it in their faces, much to their dismay.
- Monet can be unpredictable, and her ferocious temper can sometimes frighten enemies even her friends/family. She can be very aggressive when trying to solve problems, even with her family and allies. Sometimes during training, Monet can get hostile, and she would do anything she can to beat her family in sparring matches. When she feels misunderstood or irritated (which unfortunately happens a lot), she tends to storm out and go topside or roam the sewers on her own. Despite the fact that her parents don’t like this considering it can be very dangerous.
- Despite all of this, she is the most loyal friend anyone could ask for. She will do anything, literally just about anything to protect those she cares for. Even if she might not ever admit it, in order to stay “badass” and “hardcore” and to protect her pride. She will do everything in her power to protect her friends and family.
- Basically she’s Raphael 2.0 (more so the other iterations, but still—).
- Because of her anger, and rebellious nature I do not believe she would be chosen to be the next leader. Whoever would be picked, she’d feel a bit resentful towards. They’d definitely have a bit of a rocky relationship. Especially if it’s a certain someone (cough cough Milo cough). (Another of @rheawritesforfun ‘s ocs). Due to their relationship already being a bit rocky lol. It’d definitely be a classic Leo vs Raph thing. And she’d probably be like “of course you’d get the role, you’re the former leaders son. I call favouritism.” Or something like that lmao. She’d defy his orders a lot, that’s for sure. Honestly, she’d defy anyones orders. Except maaaybe Noa. Cuz they’re as thick as thieves.
- Her weapon of choice would be the tetsubo. And she’d also always carry brass knuckles with her wherever she goes. Specially made to fit her hands by her wonderful uncle Donnie. She’d probably have a whole collection of them in her room somewhere. All of which she got as gifts, most likely all made by Dee. Unless she somehow got her hands on some regular human ones, then they’d only be there for decoration. Since she can’t wield them for obvious reasons. Along with the other classic side weapons the ninja carry (I.e. throwing knives, smoke bombs, grappling hook, etc.)
- Has two male pet rats named Zeus and Poseidon. They are her babies and she will die for them. And they were a gift she received from her Granpapi Splinter, and yes it was an ironic gift and she loved it for that.
- Like her ma, she also thinks Greek and Egyptian mythology is super cool. It’s one of the few things she’ll totally geek over. Another good way to get on her good side, get her to talk about it or get her a gift involving it. Even if it’s simply watching a movie with her. She’ll adore it.

Where There's Smoke, Pt. 1
Story Content and Summary - 4,201 words. Larissa and Mitchell are on vacation with family, but Mitchell can't quite relax. Part one of two, the resus is in the second part. Explicit sex, cardiac symptoms.
This will make more sense if you've read the entire Larissa and Mitchel series all the way through The Honeymoon, but you should be able to enjoy it if you haven't.
--
Larissa
“The house is beautiful, Mitchell.” Larissa stood in the entryway of Mitchell’s family’s vacation home, taking in her surroundings. The home was large but rustic, filled with warm wood and soft rugs and curtains. She shifted the medical bag on her shoulder, clutching her purse with her other hand. “And you said your dad did some of the interior work? I thought he worked in an office!”
“He did.” Mitchell reached out and took the strap of the medical bag, lifting it from her from her shoulder. It contained her implantable cardioverter-defibrillator transmitter, both of their medications, and her nebulizer. “I can carry this upstairs for you, baby. Yeah, Dad liked to work with his hands when he had free time. His old workshop is down in the basement.”
“Thank you… I’ll come up with you, I would like to see the upstairs.” She quirked an eyebrow at him. “Besides, this is the last time we’ll be completely alone for almost two weeks…”
Mitchell smiled and then leaned in to kiss her. “I was thinking along those lines myself. You’re not too wiped out from traveling?”
“I’m good. You did a great job of making it an easy trip, honey. And I’ll use my inhaler when we get upstairs.” She let him lead her up to the second floor and down the hall, commenting on the hardwood floors and the custom moulding. “I wish I could have met your parents, Mitchell.”
Mitchell reached back for her hand, pulling her gently into the bedroom at the end of the hall. “Me, too, Larissa. But I’m glad your parents are around for me to spoil.”
Larissa squeezed his fingers, rubbing the back of his hand with her thumb.
Then she looked around them at the large bedroom, with a king-sized bed in the center and French doors leading out onto the wraparound deck. Most of their luggage was already waiting at the foot of the bed, but Mitchell carried Larissa’s medical bag over to the vanity.
Larissa sat her purse beside the bag, her arm and hip brushing against him as she rummaged inside for her inhaler. When it took her longer than a few seconds to find it, Mitchell stiffened, seeming to hold his breath while she searched.
“It’s in here,” Larissa said, keeping her voice even. “It ends up in the corner sometimes with my keys.”
On cue, her fingers closed around the small device and she brought it out of the bag, shaking it with one hand as she ran her other hand up and down Mitchell’s arm. She could feel the tension in his muscles, and repressed a sad sigh.
“See, honey? Everything’s fine.” She turned and pressed a kiss to his jaw, just below his ear.
Mitchell exhaled and turned toward her, folding her into his arms and pressing his face into her hair.
“I’m sorry,” he murmured. “I just…”
“I know, it’s okay. Everything’s okay. I love you, too.” She leaned back, trying to see his face. “Are you alright?”
Mitchell nodded. He looked a little pale, but she could see his features visibly relax as he reclaimed the distance between them. His lips pressed against hers and she made a small noise of contentment.
He drew a deep breath through his nose and ran his hands along her sides, sliding them down to cup her ass. Larissa parted her lips and felt his mouth open against hers, their tongues tangling.
They kissed like this for a moment until Mitchell finally pulled back, breathless as he asked: “Do you need a moment to freshen up?”
“That would be nice, honey, thank you.” Larissa brought the inhaler up to her mouth and sealed her lips over the mouthpiece. She depressed the canister, inhaling.
While she waited the minute before she could take the second puff, Mitchell kissed the tip of her nose.
She watched him unpack the medical bag; their medication and her nebulizer went on the vanity, while he carried her ICD transmitter over to the nightstand. Larissa took another puff from the inhaler and then dropped it back into her purse, moving toward the bathroom while she held her breath for the requisite minute.
She took her time, using the toilet before she stripped off her travel clothes and rinsed the day off her skin, spending extra time washing her feet and between her thighs. Letting down her hair, she shook out the long, honey-colored waves.
Larissa stood in front of the mirror, gazing at her naked body, fingers tracing the fading surgical scar and the lump of her ICD and pacemaker just below her left collarbone.
Then she brought her hands to her large, natural breasts, cupping them, thumbs running over her nipples. Her breasts sat a little lower these days, but she thought they were otherwise holding up well. Either way, Mitchell seemed to enjoy them. She thought about his larger, stronger hands replacing hers and felt a tingle between her thighs.
Larissa decided to walk out of the bathroom naked, eschewing towel or robe.
Mitchell turned to look when the door opened, barefoot and shirtless. He had a smattering of hair across his chest and trailing toward his waistline, catching in the light streaming in from the French doors.
“You’re wearing too many clothes,” Larissa said, grinning at him.
Mitchell
Larissa stepped into the room, fully naked, hips swaying and a smile on her face. Her body, combined with the confidence in her stride, made him hard, tenting the front of his pants.
“You’re wearing too many clothes," she murmured, and then she stood in front of him, reaching for his belt. “Let me help you with that.”
He leaned down to kiss her, and she pulled the belt from his belt loops with a snap. Soon, his pants and boxers were around his ankles, and he stepped out of them. Larissa sank to her knees, hands running down his body and gripping his thighs.
Soon, her warm, wet mouth enveloped him, and he let out a groan.
Across the room, a full-length mirror treated him to a view of Larissa from behind. Her round ass on display, the end of her hair just brushing the tops of her glutes. His hand gently cupped the back of her head, which bobbed as she moved her mouth up and down his shaft. She’d spread her legs when she kneeled before him, and he could see from the angle of her arm that she touched herself as she sucked him off.
He watched their reflection for a while before he looked down at her. She gazed back up at him with her large eyes, her luscious lips wrapped around his cock.
He could almost let her continue like that, finish him off, if he didn’t know how badly he wanted to be inside of her.
Mitchell reached down, grasping her biceps. She released his cock and let him pull her to her feet. He pulled her tight against him, his lips finding hers, his tongue plunging deep into her mouth.
Her nipples pebbled against his chest as he turned toward the bed. He laid her down, letting out his air in a rush when she spread her legs and reached down to run her fingers through her own wetness. She circled her clit with her fingers, gazing up at him and letting out a low moan.
Mitchell pulled her ass toward the edge of the bed and kneeled between her thighs, his hands massaging them wider. He rubbed his thumbs into the muscles of her inner thighs, slowly circling them closer and closer to her vulva.
When he arrived at the edge of her lips, he reached up and removed her hand, squeezing her fingers before releasing them.
Then his hands were on her again, his thumbs massaging all around her clit and labia but never quite moving into her canal or touching the nub itself. Larissa began to pant, her hips rolling, trying to get him to touch her more intimately.
Finally, Mitchell leaned forward and ran his pointed tongue from her anus to her clit, making her flinch and let out a loud moan.
“Oh! God, Mitchell…”
He chuckled, repeating the gesture several more times before sealing his lips around her clit and flicking his tongue across it.
Larissa’s hips bucked against his face and her hands plunged into his hair. Mitchell wrapped one hand over her hip, holding her in place as he turned his other hand and slipped his middle finger inside of her.
“Ah!” she gasped, hands grasping his head and her hips jerking against his hand. He pumped the finger in and out of her for several strokes before adding a second, curling them in the way that always made her moan.
She didn’t disappoint, letting out a long, loud groan of pleasure. Her hands suddenly moved from his hair to the bedspread, fingers gripping and twisting the fabric.
He found the right spot with his fingers and wiggled them back and forth, rubbing firmly. Her legs moved rhythmically, flexing as her hips thrust against his hands. She let out another moan and gasped: “If you keep that up, I’ll soak you!”
Mitchell responded by pressing his fingers harder into her, circling them over and over again. Then he sucked hard on her clit and flicked his tongue quickly against the nub inside his mouth.
Larissa’s back bowed and her body released a gush of warm, mild-tasting liquid. Mitchell kept his mouth on her and his fingers inside of her, riding out her orgasm as her hips shook and her internal muscles spasmed. As she relaxed, he slipped his fingers out of her and gave her vulva a long, wet lap with his tongue.
She pushed herself backward on the bed, gesturing for him to move toward her. Mitchell laid himself on top of her, between her thighs, his cock nestled against her incredible wetness as he leaned in to kiss her.
She brought her long legs up, loosely wrapping them around his hips. Mitchell found her hands, drew them above her head. Her breasts pressed up toward his chest.
“Take me, Mitchell,” Larissa whispered.
He slid his cock inside of her, all the way to the hilt. She felt so wet he nearly came right then. He took a series of steadying breaths, briefly closing his eyes.
When he opened his eyes again, he kept them fixated on Larissa’s face. Her cheeks flushed prettily, sweat making the short hairs around her face curl. Mitchell ground his hips against her, then began to thrust. He felt her legs tighten around him.
“God, you’re hitting just the right spot,” she panted. “You’re going to make me come again. I can feel every inch of you…”
Mitchell clasped her wrists together in one hand, and used the other to palm her left breasts. He could feel her nipple against his palm. Then he pinched it, hard, and watched as her back arched again, listened to her guttural moan. So responsive to his every touch; her reactions to him were one of the best parts about sex with her.
Mitchell released her hands and her breast and grasped her hips.
“Roll with me, baby,” he said, and she unhooked her legs, moving with him as he rolled onto his back. Straddling him, his cock still buried deep inside her, she began to move up and down, her back arching and her hands coming up into her hair.
Mitchell thrusted up toward her, one hand on her hip, the other pressing to her lower abdomen so he could rub her clit with his thumb.
He ran his gaze up her body, her soft stomach rippling with their joined movement, her breasts swaying, neck hyper-extended. Her lips were parted, her eyes closed. Mitchell shifted his grip on her hip, seeking out her femoral pulse with his thumb.
Her eyes opened as he found it, light eyes seeking out and meeting his. He felt her pulse thundering, rapid from their activity. Normal, still safe.
“I love you, Mitchell,” she whispered, her voice hoarse.
“I love you, too, baby.” He moved both of his hands to her hips and encouraged her to lean forward so he could kiss her, his arms sliding up and around her back. His hips hammered up into her warmth and her wetness, his mouth seeking out hers.
Larissa’s breasts pressed against his chest, nipples hard. He slid his hands down to her ass, fingers slipping into her cleft, finding her rim and lightly pressing a fingertip there.
Her reaction was almost guaranteed; she moaned into his mouth, chest heaving. Her mouth broke free of his and she threw her head back, moaning again as he suckled the skin over her carotid.
He felt her hips roll, and slipped one hand between them, finding her clit and rubbing a firm circle over the nub.
That sent her over the edge, and she tensed against him, her walls clenching his cock as he thrust up into her. She cried out, loud and unrestrained, thighs shaking.
Mitchell thrusted deep into her, his hips moving erratically. One of Larissa’s hands moved to his chest, and her thumbnail scraped over his nipple, the sensation a shock that ran from his nipple to his cock. Such a small, simple thing, but something she hadn’t done before. He groaned, cock still plunging in and out of her, and she pinched his nipple, rolling it between her fingers.
That pushed him over the precipice, and he called out her name, hips slamming up into her a few more times before he emptied himself, dizzy from his release.
She laid on top of him, breathing hard, her head on his chest. Mitchell ran his hands up and down her back, her soft skin damp with sweat. He let himself go soft inside of her.
“You’re amazing,” he murmured into her hair.
Larissa chuckled, her chest vibrating against his. “I could say the same about you.”
“How do you feel?”
“Paralyzed.”
“I did good then,” he said, laughing before he kissed the top of her head.
“Always.”
Larissa, two days later.
Larissa squeezed Mitchell’s hand as they walked a wide path that took them in a gentle descent back toward the house. Just ahead walked Mark’s sister, Angie, and her husband, Booker, both acting like normal adults. Farther ahead, Mark and Samuel were all over the path, behaving like people half or even a quarter of their age.
“I wish I had their energy,” Larissa murmured, sighing. “And they’re more than a decade older than I am!”
Mitchell’s hand tightened on hers. “Are you feeling okay?”
“I feel fine. Just not as fine as them,” she said, laughing. “How about you?”
“I have a little bit of a headache.”
Larissa pulled them to a stop, turning toward him so she could look him over. He looked pale again, and tired. “When we get back, would you lay down? You look like you need to. Can you make it the rest of the way back?”
“I’ll be fine, but yes to both questions.” He grimaced. “It’s really not that bad, please don’t worry.”
“Everything okay back there?” Angie called, looking over her shoulder.
Larissa gave Mitchell another long look and then nodded, belatedly verbalizing her reassurance. “Yes! Mitchell says he has a headache but he’s okay to continue.”
“Let us know if you need a break,” Angie said, looping her arm around her husband’s. They were disparate in height; Angie was short and curvy, Booker tall and slim. He had clear, dark, warm skin. Angie’s was pale and covered with a constellation of freckles, much like Larissa’s own skin. Larissa often thought that she and Mark’s sister looked a lot alike, aside from their own height difference.
“I’m okay, Angie,” Mitchell said. “I just get these a lot, now.”
He started walking again, gently pulling Larissa with him.
Ahead, she heard Samuel call out: “First person back gets to use the grill!”
Mitchell raised his eyebrows but didn’t comment as they took off down the path. Larissa thought he looked even more exhausted as he watched them sprint away.
“Do you want to take a sleeping pill tonight?” Larissa asked. “Maybe you’re a little sleep deprived. I know you were up a few times last night.”
Mitchell winced, glancing over at her. “I was hoping I hadn’t woken you.”
“I got plenty of sleep. I know we have to be up early for the boat trip tomorrow, so if you do want to take a pill, I will make sure you’re up in time, okay?” She watched him as he mulled it over and nodded.
“Okay. I probably ought to go to bed early.”
Larissa, too busy watching Mitchell’s face, forgot to watch where she placed her feet. Her toe caught a divot in the trail and she lurched forward, wrenching the knee she’d injured when they were abducted. Yelping, she tipped toward the ground, reaching out with her free hand to break her fall.
Mitchell yanked her up by their joined hands, keeping her from face planting. She felt his other arm come around her waist, and he pulled her against his body.
“Fuck! Are you okay?” Their faces were close together, and she could see his tired, pained eyes go darker with worry.
“Ow, ow… No, yes, I’m fine! I just tripped.” Larissa held onto him for balance, trying to project an air of casualness.
“What are you doing back there?” she heard Angie call back.
“I stepped in a hole!” Larissa yelled. “I’m fine! Just clumsy!”
“Are you sure?” Mitchell’s brow furrowed.
“My knee is going to be sore, but I can put weight on it.” She demonstrated, the two of them moving slowly forward as she hobbled. “It’s just that one is always kind of a bitch.”
“I’ll get you an ice pack when we get back,” Mitchell said, keeping his arm wrapped around her waist. “And then I’ll take a nap, and you can send my dufus brother or Mark up to wake me when they’re done grilling.”
“That sounds like a plan,” Larissa said, trying not to wince. “Honestly, if a headache and a tweaked knee are the worst things that happen to us while we’re out here, we’re doing really well.”
“Larissa!” Angie scolded, her fair skin flushing red. “Don’t even say things like that! If Mark and Samuel had heard you, they would tell you to wash your mouth out with soap!”
Mitchell, later that evening.
Mitchell leaned back in his chair, watching as orange tongues of fire flicked up from the large iron bowl in the middle of the terrace. Larissa sat somewhere behind him, away from the smoke, playing a board game with the others.
Normally, he’d have joined in, but tonight he felt mentally and physically exhausted.
I hope I’m not sick, he thought, forever worried about Larissa’s lungs or her heart.
At this point, though… if I’m sick, she’s sick. His mind briefly showing him images of their most recent lovemaking. He didn’t feel well enough for the images to drive him to his feet and encourage Larissa to make excuses, but he relaxed a bit, a faint smile passing over his lips.
Mitchell reached up and rubbed the left side of his neck and jaw, wondering if he’d pinched a nerve the night before.
“Why don’t you go on to bed, honey?” Larissa asked from behind him. He hadn’t heard her get up. He felt her hands smooth his hair and then drop to his shoulders. “I think you’d feel better if you got some sleep. Do you want me to come up with you?”
She limped around in front of him, leaning over to kiss his forehead.
“How’s your knee?” he asked. “I don’t know if I’m ready for bed…”
“My knee is just sore. You look like you’re going to fall over.” She raised her eyebrows at him. “You’re not usually so stubborn.”
“I don’t feel like myself,” he admitted, rubbing his neck again.
Larissa reached out and rubbed it for him. “I’m sorry. What can I do?”
“You’ve already done it,” Mitchell said, reaching up to take her hand. “I’m convinced. I’m going to bed. And while I will forever love having you in bed with me, it seems like you’re having fun. You should stay and play the game, as long as the smoke isn’t bothering you.”
“I’m doing fine,” she said. “You sound sure, so I’ll stay down here. But you call me on my cell if you need something, okay?”
Mitchell pushed himself out of the chair and pulled her close, giving Larissa a soft kiss.
She patted his cheek. “Feel better, honey. I’ll make sure you’re up in time in the morning, don’t worry.”
He bade the others goodnight, reassuring Samuel that he just felt tired and a little achy, and made his way inside.
Indoors, Mitchell realized with surprise and dismay that he could still smell the smoke from the fire pit. He sniffed the sleeve of his shirt, then the air. Finally, he turned to look back at his family, silhouetted against the orange glow of the fire pit.
She’s capable of taking care of herself, he told himself, reluctantly and slowly climbing the stairs. He felt fatigued and winded. If she needs to come inside, she’ll do it.
Upstairs, the house didn’t smell any better. He hoped Larissa would use her inhaler before bed; he felt uneasy about taking a sleeping pill if she might have trouble breathing later.
I’m about to be of no good to anyone even without the pill, he thought, shaking his head. Mark and Samuel are equally capable of helping her if she needs something.
Mitchell took a small, white pill from one of the orange bottles on the vanity, grimacing when it tried to dissolve in his mouth before he could swallow it. He guzzled an extra glass of water, trying to wash away the taste.
Then he got ready for bed. Tonight, that meant he took a piss, brushed his teeth, splashed water on his face, and changed clothes. Then he slipped between the sheets and closed his eyes in relief.
Maybe I didn’t need that pill, he thought drifting to sleep.
Mitchell dreamed.
Mercifully, this was not the dream that started in bed and ended with the discovery that Larissa had died in her sleep. Those had only gotten worse after their honeymoon, when she actually had died while he slept beside her, her agonal breaths alerting him only just in time for her to be resuscitated.
Mitchell found it hard to find safety in sleep after that.
Tonight, however, he walked through endless, smoke-filled rooms.
He’d enter one, and the door would lock behind him. He reached out with his left, non-dominant hand, and grasped the doorknob, only to have it shock him and send pain from his arm to his heart to his jaw. Breathing was difficult; he could feel his chest heaving, the muscles spasming.
Is this what an asthma attack is like for Larissa?
Larissa! God, I hope she’s not in here somewhere!
He tried to call out to her, but he couldn’t breathe. Instead, he staggered forward, no longer closing doors, stumbling from room to room until he fell hard to his knees.
Mitchell awoke with a start, in bed, gasping and choking. Thick clouds of suffocating gray smoke billowed above him. He reached out instinctively, but Larissa’s side of the bed remained empty.
Mitchell tried to push himself upright, but he only managed to roll himself off the bed, landing with a bone-jarring thud on the floor. Pain coursed through him, not just from the fall, but sourced in his heart muscle itself. The pain in his heart felt like the muscle cramped around an embedded knife, a knife slowly twisted by an unseen hand.
Dad died young from heart trouble, he thought, still in a crumpled heap on the hardwood. It would track…
A heart attack didn’t account for the smell of burning in his nostrils.
What’s on fire?
He wheezed in a shallow, smoky breath, his hands clutching at his chest. He could feel his heart skipping and spasming around the invisible knife. He wasn’t sure where he’d left his phone, and he couldn’t call out.
The room around him grew dark as his vision failed him. Then his hands and feet went numb.
Oh. I’m dying.
Larissa…
Larissa, I’m so sorry I couldn’t say goodbye. I love you…
The smoke shifted. As if he’d summoned her apparition, she appeared above him, illuminated by an unknown source of light, the billowing smoke obscuring her hair.
We see our loved ones before we die…
The apparition coughed.
No, you can't be in here...
Larissa's reddened eyes streamed. Mitchell felt her hands solid on his chest, sliding up to grab his shoulders. She tried to heave him upright, but she had no strength, the smoke stealing her breath.
Get out of here, he thought, unable to speak. Go, Larissa, go…
His heart clenched hard in his chest, and then he felt and saw nothing.

More A&O
[Back from vacation and in the mood to write some fluff-smut so here we are]
Salim's body pulled him out of sleep. When he was lucid enough, he could hear soft whimpering next to him. He woke more and opened his eyes to find Jason's face pressed against his neck, the Omega's closed eyes streaming tears. Salim was alarmed to see it: had he been too rough with his Omega? It had been so many years since the last time he was with one and Jason's heat had been so enticing...
[My love,] Salim called, brushing fingers into Jason's hair. [My most beloved, my most beautiful. Forgive me.] Jason stirred and opened his eyes. Salim lifted a hand to wipe at one of his Omega's cheeks.
“Alpha,” Jason breathed out. “You awake?” He slid a hand down to touch between Salim's legs. Salim hated himself for how quickly his body responded. Jason's eyes met his and he smirked. “Guess so.”
“Jason,” Salim began, moving to take Jason's hand in his. “I'm so sorry I hurt you, habibi.”
“What?” Jason frowned but then lifted a hand to his wet cheek and snorted. “I ain't cryin' 'cause I'm hurt,” he huffed. “Look.” He used his free hand to reach between his own leg. When he lifted it to Salim's face, the fingers were wet with slick.
Salim opened his mouth but nothing came out. So Jason's tears were from his heat, not because he was hurt? And Salim's body had responded as was only natural for an Alpha when their Omega was in heat. Salim finally closed his mouth-- around Jason's fingers, licking away the slick. Jason sucked in a breath and climbed on Salim, swinging a leg over and rolling down on Salim's cock.
[Wet,] Salim gulped, forgetting the English word. [So wet and warm, my beloved.] He broke off into a moan as Jason started to rock on him, much slower than last night. Salim could feel every inch and shuddered as Jason clenched around him. Salim was sure that the only way Jason remained without an Alpha so long was because most didn't like aggressive Omegas. But Salim delighted in how strong and bold his Omega was, how they had given each other the mating bite rather than Jason wearing it alone.
“What do you keep sayin'?” Jason asked him. He had slowed so much that he was grinding on Salim. He probably assumed this would help Salim focus on a conversation, but it did the opposite: it made Salim want to have his lips all over Jason's skin, to feel the Omega's hard muscles under his hands, to sink his teeth into the mark on Jason's neck and be sure none would dare mate with him.
That last thought Salim put into action, pulling Jason close enough to make the mark fresh. Jason shuddered on top of him, his thighs squeezing Salim's hips as he rolled. Salim sucked contentedly on Jason's neck, pulling back once he was sure the skin would be noticeably red. Jason stared at him with glazed eyes before bending his head down and latching onto the mark on Salim's neck. Salim groaned and gripped onto his Omega's hips to buck up into him. He felt the knot forming and linking them together again.
“Salim,” Jason crooned. “Tell me what 'habibi' means. And all those other things you call me.”
“My love,” Salim responded. He bucked up into Jason again and they both quivered. His knot made him so much more sensitive to every shift of their bodies. “I... call you aijmil, my most beautiful.”
“Aijmil,” Jason echoed with a brush of fingers in Salim's hair.
“Do you remember the night we met?” Salim rubbed circles on Jason's lower back and hips. “You were running and I followed you. Instinct drew me to you, though I didn't understand why at the time. Then I caught your scent.”
“Did I smell good?” Jason bared his teeth playfully.
“Let's just say I'm glad you weren't in your heat that night, habibi.” Jason let out a low growl and squeezed around Salim's erection. “I'm sorry, mahbubi, but it's true: I would have taken you that night.”
“Show me,” Jason urged him. Salim wet his lips hesitantly, then shifted to a sitting position. Jason locked his ankles around Salim as the Alpha lifted his Omega in his arms. Jason started breathing a little harder and giving off a desire scent so strong Salim pushed him against the nearest tree and started grinding against him.
Salim liked to think he wouldn't have really done this if Jason was in his heat when they met. He'd been around Omegas in heat before without his Alpha instincts taking over. No, Salim was grinding Jason up against this tree because he was Jason, not because he was an Omega in heat.
“Aijmil,” Jason moaned, dragging his nails down Salim's back. “Habibi Alpha.” Something about hearing his native language spoken by his Omega made Salim even more aroused. He could barely thrust because of the knot but did it anyway until he spilled into Jason.
“I promised to adore you,” Salim remembered. “I want to take you to bed and make love to you properly.”
“To your house?” Jason questioned.
“Or yours. Whichever is closer.” Salim smirked at the younger man. “Your heat is very demanding of me, habibi.”
“Says the guy who woulda fucked me against a tree when we met,” Jason snorted. His expression softened and he looped his arms around Salim's shoulders. “Honestly, I was only bein' so aggressive 'cause your scent was so good. Never been attracted to an Alpha's scent before, so it kinda scared me.”
“And you happened to meet the one Alpha who likes aggressive Omegas,” Salim finished for him. He gently pulled Jason away from the tree and lay him back down in the grass. Just seeing Jason spread out below him had Salim stirring again. He'd been a much younger man last time he mated; he worried he wouldn't be able to keep up with Jason. So far, his body was up to the task.
The two settled into lazy kisses with tongues tangling and fingers wandering over each other's bodies. Despite the knot being gone, Salim didn't pull out. He couldn't even if he wanted to with the way Jason's legs were locked around him. Jason's fingers ran across Salim's shoulders and down his chest. He found the man's nipples and began to gently rub and pinch.
“Jason,” Salim sighed, pressing against the touch.
“I wanna adore you, too,” Jason told him. “My Alpha.”
“Yours,” Salim agreed. He moved his hips in a slow rhythm. He gripped Jason's hand and lifted it to his lips, running his tongue along one finger. Jason moaned and shifted his body to invite Salim in deeper. “Didn't you say you own a butt plug?” Salim mused.
“Uhm, y-yeah,” Jason gulped. “Why?”
“Because.” Salim thrust a little faster and deeper as he slipped Jason's finger in his mouth and sucked. He felt his Omega's erection pressing urgently against him. “I want your cock in my mouth,” Salim continued, “but I don't want you to shed any more tears for want of being filled.”
“Uhhh.” Jason's face went red. Salim slowed a bit to give Jason time to think. “The... uh, the plug's back in my place.”
“Then I will take you home,” Salim decided, resuming his pace. “And we will adore each other, my Omega. Hayati.”
“Uhm,” Jason groaned. “What, um, what's... that mean?” Salim cupped his cheek, tilting his head to be sure Jason was looking at him.
“It means you are more than my mate for this cycle, more than my Omega. You are my very life.” Jason stared at him for a long time. He took Salim's hand and twined their fingers together. Salim didn't move-- it was as if a knot was binding them together, stronger than the one that swelled when they mated.
“Hayati,” Jason agreed.

HEY IT’S J WORD
... Oh, wrong J word 😔 IT’S OKAY, I LIKE JAMIL TOO
I’m going to be real with you, I’ve got a thing for butler/bodyguard characters, and since Jamil is presented as Kalim’s caretaker (kind of like a butler) AND Jamil is professionally trained as a bodyguard (confirmed in episode 6), he checks off a lot of boxes for me. I actually feel kind of guilty for liking Jamil because of those attributes though, since he has stated that he dislikes his position in life 💦 I do like other aspects of Jamil, though! It’s just the butler/bodyguard vibes that initially drew me to him, along with his appearance. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a character with a hairstyle as intricate as Jamil’s??????? But it’s really pleasing to look at (and probably really pleasing to listen to, like just imagine all the little hair ornaments clinking or jingling as he walks)! His eyes are also interesting; they look kind of blank at first glance, but upon further inspection I kind of understand what Leona meant when he said Jamil has eyes that “always glare”.
I think the best thing about Jamil is how... understated he is? He has a resting bitch face, and he acts so unassuming, but when he’s given a chance to speak from the heart, he can be petty and passive aggressive 🤣 which I think is a real treat! As I mentioned in my character opinion bingo for Vil, I love characters who operate under the radar or scheme in the shadows, and Jamil definitely does so it shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone that I like him. Jamil also gives off those intense “tired mom”, “disappointed but not surprised”, and “I’m so done with this shit” energy, which I find extremely relatable. I feel bad for him when I see him suffering (because I know I would also be exasperated if I were in his shoes), but at the same time I have a sadistic part of me that wants to giggle, thankful that I’m not him right now. If I stop pointing and laughing at Jamil for a second, I’m happy that he finally has a little more wiggle room to act freely; the poor man’s been through a lot and he REALLY deserves a vacation and some freedom.
I think Jamil plays off of other characters so well, particularly when he’s being petty with them or is fed up with playing babysitter. One of my favorite character dynamics is Jamil and Azul; Azul’s eagerness to befriend and/or recruit Jamil to his dorm and Jamil vehemently resisting and firing back… I find it funny in a dry kind of way.
Weirdly enough, I don’t enjoy Jamil as much when he goes unhinged because he makes uncomfortable and unflattering facial expressions when he does ashdbaosydasdsd ALSO, LIKE. I don’t know if this is just me, but Jamil’s brand of “evil” feels like he’s trying too hard????? So it ends up coming across to me as more pathetic than how Jamil wants it to be perceived... especially when he laughs like that and has extended monologues about how great he is and how he has finally succeeded with his plans. It feels like I’m watching a Saturday morning cartoon where the villain is making their speech about how it’s too late to stop them RIGHT BEFORE THE HEROES CRASH IN AND STOP THEM. I’m also not a fan of his Overblot design, especially the weird hair-snake turban and the ink goatee thing??????????? THAT’S SO UGLY AND JAMIL DESERVED BETTER 😭
I think Jamil gets it kind of bad when it comes to fandom takes. I don’t believe I’ve seen anything that outright paints him as a “bad” person completely in the wrong after the events of episode 4, but I get the distinct impression that people oversimplify Jamil’s issues. “Oh, Kalim can just set him free when he succeeds the Asim family”/”Kalim can talk to his dad about it”, as if it’s just as easy to do as Aladdin wishing the Genie free. Kalim himself acts like it’s something can be easily done. It’s not, and to believe that it is as Kalim does demonstrates a sense of naivety. The fact of the matter is that this is something that extends far beyond what Kalim or Jamil can do individually to resolve it; it’s not a problem between just them, but between them and the systems that their families have become so accustomed to. You cannot just shatter or overturn a generations-long relationship just like that, which is exactly why Jamil is forced into a position where he HAS to continue serving under Kalim post-episode 4. Believing that it’s so simple undermines Jamil’s struggles and paints him as someone who was overreacting to a problem that could “easily” be resolved. I think a large part of this ideation comes from EN’s intentional censorship of how dire Jamil’s situation is 💦 which is a shame, as that really undercuts his motivations and how desperate he is… (EN makes Jamil and Kalim “employee” and “employer” not “servant” and “master”. Additionally, EN removes Jamil’s lines about his whole family will be thrown out on the streets if he defies the Asims.)
Another common take I see about Jamil is that he apparently hates Kalim and Kalim specifically (especially seeing as Jamil goes off on a rant post-OB about how much he despises Kalim’s smile and having to serve him). I believe it’s true to some extent, but that it’s also not the entirety of the picture. Why does Jamil hate Kalim? Because he’s forced to work for him? No, what Jamil truly hates is what Kalim stands for, the people who happen to be born in higher social statuses and are ignorant to the struggles of the people below them. He just happens to project his anger at Kalim in particular because he’s an easy target and someone he’s always with. “As long as [Kalim] exists, I will never be free,” Jamil says. Why? If Kalim dies, won’t Jamil just be relegated to serving the rest of the VERY extensive Asim family? Therefore, literally being rid of Kalim and Kalim alone would do nothing to alleviate Jamil’s distress. This leads me to believe “Kalim” in that line is metaphorical and refers to the establishments that Jamil hates, the thing that Kalim represents, rather than Kalim himself.
In episode 6, Jamil demonstrates holding similar vitriol for other people, such as Leona, and expresses disdain toward others and feels as though he cannot trust anyone at all to be competent. He directs a lot of hate to the people around him, but often just keeps it to himself to maintain a veneer of politeness... and I don’t think that’s healthy for him 😔 Good on Leona for talking some sense into him-- Jamil could literally be so powerful if he wasn’t busy blaming others for his own complicated emotions and being held back by his own ego.
I’ve already mentioned that I relate to Jamil a lot in terms of his energy, but even more than just that, I relate to Jamil in terms of his struggle against a society that doesn’t understand or find value in his desire to be free. I’m not going to go into too much detail about my own issue, but I know what Jamil is feeling and how difficult those feelings can be. I know what it’s like to feel helpless and like nothing can be done to help myself when it seems like the whole world and all of its systems were designed to work against you... but I also have way too much pride and too little trust in others to speak openly about it. Maybe I’m thinking way too hard about this or maybe I’m just projecting way too strongly, but Jamil is so much like me that it hurts 😭 I want to break free too, Jamil... I get you, my dude. LET’S BE FRIENDS--
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m very split on Ace. On one hand, I don’t tend to like immature characters (which, let’s be honest, Ace is), but on the other hand, he has a kind of charm to his brattiness. His bright personality touched with mischief is refreshing, and I particularly adore the voice impressions he does of other characters (they’re really cute!)~ ... But at the same time, I really cannot stand it when Ace talks for too long, because he inevitably ends up doing or saying something to make me regret ever thinking he was cute to begin with (like when he dodges responsibility or blames other people for his fuck-ups). I also do not care for his selfish side or when he speaks without a filter; he needs to watch what he says a little better, because it constantly nets him trouble and makes me facepalm.
I guess I would liken Ace to a little brother? Like, he constantly gets on my nerves, but I end up forgiving him sooner or later because he’ll do something cute or say something snarky that temporarily redeems him right before he does something stupid or terrible again to make my opinion of him do another 180. I just kind of want to squish him into a little pouch and carry him around on my back so I can keep my eye on him at all times and make sure he’s not causing more trouble for himself or for others 😔
OKAY, NOTHING AGAINST HOW ACE LOOKS BUT HE HAS SOME OF THE MOST “GENERIC ANIME PROTAG” HAIR I’VE EVER SEEN with maybe only Deuce being the character that one-ups him in terms of “generic anime protag” hair-ness. It works well with Ace’s cheery (yet sassy) personality, but every time I see him I can’t help but think “Wow, you look like such a protag.” The funniest part about that is Ace acts NOTHING like a stereotypical bland nice guy protag, he’s such a fucking asshole 😂 which, again, I’m very conflicted on because sometimes his asshole-ry or brutal honesty is funny or warranted (like when he calls Riddle out), but other times it’s straight up just mean for no good reason (particularly when he bullies Deuce).
The ONE thing I will firmly defend about Ace is that he is a lot more clever than people usually think he is. The fandom frequently refers to Ace and Deuce together as “the single brain cell duo” (sometimes trio, if Grim is included in the count), implying that they’re all pretty dumb. It’s definitely true that Ace is lacking in terms of his grades, but that’s moreso because he is too lazy to put effort into studying, not because he is inherently “stupid”. Ace is the REVERSE of Deuce, because Deuce is the one that actually puts forth an honest effort to be an honors student but lacks inherent classroom smarts, whereas Ace is the one that CAN be smart if he applies himself in lessons but he’d rather slack. He is a very quick thinker and an adept liar when he wants to be, and I think Ace deserves more credit for that.
Something that’s been bothering me about Ace is his lack of presence in recent main story content. He was gone for most of episode 4, barely did anything in episode 5 except for getting cursed and being mean to Deuce, and then in episode 6 he gets knocked out along with Deuce, so he can’t go along with Pomefiore for the rescue mission. I was really hoping to see Ace getting jealous of Deuce’s unique magic or feeling left out or useless because he hasn’t gotten his own yet 🤔 With how long of an episode 6 is, it feels so weird having this large span of the main story (even if, in universe, it has only been a few days between 5 and 6) where we get NOTHING on Ace’s feelings post-VDC. Episode 7, it’s all up to you now... Please let Ace reflect on his own actions and question his own abilities or something, PLEASE LET ACE GET HIS UNIQUE MAGIC TOO.

never thought i’d ever make this post, but here we are. this is just an update since i haven’t been very active here (this blog specifically)
i’ve realized that i haven’t been writing anything for the course of 5+ months because i’m more focused on school, trying to adjust to young adulthood, and thinking about what other careers/hobbies i want to pursue in so it kinda drew me away from sitting down to write something. along with burnout, so that’s… yeah. sorry all.
the thing is i was really trying to get back into writing something but that’ll be once in a blue moon most likely. perhaps something not fandom related or something, but who knows? other than that i just wanted to say this for those who did follow me solely for my fics and such, so you’re free to unfollow if you fall along those lines.
as of late i haven’t been feeling like writing at all, and yet writing is the reason why i’m here via tumblr. but i’m probably going to be ia for the time being until i feel like writing again. (if that ever happens) though i’ll probably be lurking most of the time, so if you see me interact with your post or pop in your inbox then hello :3!! also mutuals if you want to get in contact with me in some way outside of tumblr you can ask for my disc or game users (via genshin, pjsk, hsr, roblox)
so what’s the takeaway? i think i need to step down from social media and not feel forced to post fics or anything. maybe that writing motivation i’ve been longing for will come back naturally, even if it takes a few months or even years. so i wouldn’t really say i’m “quitting” it’s more like a “half-vacation.” if you get what i mean. even when i say this, it’s most likely that i’m going to upload a shitpost or anything along those lines on my spam/main depending on how i feel at the moment, just saying.
if i were to really leave writing behind me, and for you guys to say that you get inspiration from me or you just enjoy my works, then thank you for giving me a chance to try to warm your hearts in the form of writing, as cheesy as that may sound. i’ve enjoyed doing it a lot! i really do. but now i need to slowly transition into adulthood and actually have that “adult” mindset. (s i g h)
so yeah! this is all i wanted to say for a long time. thanks for reading. i love each and every single one of you <3
also we’re keeping the lumine theme for some time because i’m too lazy to change it (and besides lume is very similar to lumine so it’s cool) and sorry that i haven’t been answering asks here omg
edit: sooo i decided to just leave my navigation as is just so if there’s anyone that wants to look at my old stuff via: writing, edits, etc. so they’re safe and they won’t get deleted, dw!
the only difference is that i won’t write as much or at all anymore. (burnout, boredom, thinking about what i’ll do after graduation, slowly transitioning to adulthood, etc..) i’ll try to be active on this blog more often, but it’s mostly for interactions and stuff along those lines.
also as for how active i’ll be, that’ll depend on the day/week. sometimes i’m free, sometimes i’m not, so it entirely depends. midterms/finals are when i’ll be ia no exceptions, but if i have absolutely no work/assignments then i could pop in here. if i feel as if i want to take a day or so off of tumblr then that’ll happen as well.
basically, i’m in and out, but i lurk often. that’s the best way i could put this in.
i’ll probably make a pinned for these things just so all of this is out there

Proposal [Obey Me! Barbatos/Lance]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Genre: Fluff
Word Count: 1407
Obey Me! Masterlist
--
The bed was different. For starters, it was an actual bed and not a futon that really just served to insulate their bodies from the base it was on. It was squishy and not as firm. It’d probably hurt his back in the morning. Still, he knew that wasn’t what was keeping him awake. It was just his insomnia acting up. It was too late to take any medication. If he took it now, he’d be knocked out for when their vacation began.
Lance turned on his side to look at the demon lying next to him. The strands of teal covered part of his face. His eyes were lightly closed. His lips parted as he slowly breathed in and out. Lance peered up at his horns and smiled. Slowly, he brushed part of Barbatos’s hair from his face to get a better look at the demon.
Barbatos groggily cracked open an eye. He breathed in deeply and turned to face Lance. “Is everything alright?”
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you,” Lance whispered. He shuffled closer to the demon and took a hold of his hand. “Nothing’s wrong. Just can’t sleep.”
“Is there anything I can do to help?”
Lance shook his head. “No, I just like looking at you. You’re beautiful.”
Barbatos let out a quiet laugh. Though his laughter quickly faded, his smile didn’t. “What all do you find beautiful about me?” He expected a short list.
Lance eyed his hair. His free hand ran through the strands. “I love the colors of your hair. They’re the first thing that caught my attention and drew me in.”
"Yes, I’m well aware of your affinity for cooler colors,” Barbatos chortled.
Lance hummed and continued, “I like your eyes. Not just because of the color, but they’re also mysterious, just like you. Now, I like to think I know you very well and have cracked the mystery of who you are. Now, I see warmth and adoration in them.” Lance paused as he stared at the eyes reflecting the same things he just said. He smiled and looked at his cheeks. “I like it when you blush, just as you are now. I especially like it when I’m the reason you blush. It reminds me that I have an effect on you, just as you have an effect on me.”
“You have for a very long time,” Barbatos quietly murmured.
“I like your lips, not just for the soft kisses you give me. But I like watching them when you speak. You’re always articulate and your voice is soothing. I could hear you talk about teas and desserts and everything else you’re passionate about for an eternity. Though, I think your lips are my favorite when you smile. You have a very cute smile.”
Barbatos sighed. “You’re the only one to ever believe that. Or at least dare repeat that.”
“It’s true, though,” Lance reassured him. “It’s very cute. And it’s a good thing that it’s cute. I like cute things.”
“Then, I suppose I will let it slide that you called me cute.”
Lance giggled and pressed a kiss to the corner of his lips. “Thank you.”
"That was a nice list. I should be the one thanking you.”
“I’m not done yet.” Barbatos’s eyes widened in shock. “I like your neck, though it’s usually covered by your shirts. It’s always a little treat when I do get to see it. It’s nice getting to wrap my arms around it when you carry me. I like your shoulders. They’re strong and you hold so much on them. We’re all better because of your shoulders. I like your arms. I love it when they’re wrapped around me. I always feel safe with you. I know you’ll catch me if I fall, that you’ll shield me from whatever tries to harm me, or that you’ll just be there with a hug if I need it.”
Barbatos quickly pulled Lance into his arms. He rested his lips on the top of Lance’s head over and over again. “I love you,” he whispered quietly.
Lance grinned. “I love your chest. It shields me from the world when I’m too embarrassed. With you, it’s often because of how you’re always teasing me.”
“I do that so you will hide into my chest,” Barbatos confessed.
Lance laughed. “I know that’s part of the reason. I also like to hear your heartbeat. I like to hear how your chest rumbles when you laugh, it’s one of the most beautiful sounds. I like your stomach,” Lance continued on more as his fingers lightly trailed down Barbatos. “You make the most delicious foods in all of the realms. It makes me happy when you get to eat them, too.”  Lance’s finger danced along the side of Barbatos’s hip. “Asmo says you have a nice butt. I’ll agree.”
Barbatos laughed. “Is that so?”
Lance joined in on the laughter as he nodded his head. “Yes, that is so. I also like your legs. They’re good pillows for when I’m tired. But they also are filled with such grace as you move around doing your chores. Your feet are, too. You can turn at a moment’s notice, both on normal ground and on ice. All of your movements are beautiful.”
Lance’s hand trailed over his tail that was now draped over him. He looked up at his horns. “Then, there’s your tail and your horns. They’re always little treats for me to see since they’re not always there. Every time I do see them, I can’t get enough of them. They add more mystery to you, for me at least. And they’re so incredibly unique, just like you.”
Lance’s gaze drifted to Barbatos’s eyes. “You’re crying.”
Barbatos stilled, one of his hands drifted up to his eyes to confirm that there was indeed a wetness there. “I’m sorry, I didn’t realize—”
Lance cut him off with a quick kiss. “Don’t apologize. Can I keep going?”
“There’s more?” Barbatos choked out.
Lance laughed at his shock. “Of course, there is. There’s your personality too—” Lance paused midsentence. His eyes widened ever-so-slightly. “Do you know what’s about to happen?” he asked quietly.
Barbatos narrowed his eyes in confusion. “No, I did not see this moment. Why?”
Lance pulled out of Barbatos’s grip. The demon sat up sniffling, upset that the human was leaving while he was still crying. Lance unzipped his suitcase and dug around before his hands closed around something. Quickly, he came back, jumped onto the bed, and crawled back to Barbatos.
"I love you,” Lance spoke quickly, his heart hammered away quickly. “You’re not just beautiful. You’re also kind and thoughtful and sweet and gentle and loyal and hardworking and funny and intelligent and mischievous and everything I could ever want in someone. I love you more each and every second we spend together. And…” Lance stopped as he started crying. He rubbed at his eyes with one arm as he tried to keep talking. “And I want to spend all of eternity with you. I was going to try and save this for the perfect time on our trip, but,” Lance sobbed as he pulled out a small, wooden box. He opened it to reveal a silver ring with teal accents. On the inside Forever & Always was engraved. “Will you marry me?”
Barbatos grabbed Lance and pulled him forward. His lips crashed onto the human’s, desperately trying to relay the joy and love that was surging through his body. When he pulled away, his eyes fluttered open, revealing just how brightly they were glowing with greed. He remained silent as he moved on the bed and opened the side table’s drawer. He pulled out his own box. He laughed through a sob as he opened it, revealing a black ring with purple accents. Love Immortalized was engraved on the inside.
“I was planning on proposing on this trip as well,” Barbatos spoke with his words shaking. “You beat me to it.”
Lance grinned even as his tears rolled down his cheeks faster. “So it’s a yes?”
“Yes, of course it is, Little Lamb.”
Lance quickly grabbed the demon’s hand and rolled the ring over it. In exchange, Barbatos took the human’s hand and repeated the same action. They smiled at each other before they crushed each other in an embrace. A mess of sobs and giggles passing their lips as the night went on.

When Nezumi had woken up that morning, still warm and content from her dream, she once again found herself entangled with Lee. Her head rested on his chest, her arm loosely draped over his stomach. His arms encircled her torso, gently holding her close to him. She felt warm and safe, like this was where she was meant to be.
Then, as she looked up at him, she realized he was already awake and frozen with nerves.
“Rock,” Nezumi started. “I’m sor-”
Lee shook his head. “You have done nothing wrong,” he said, anxiety clear in his voice. “There is nothing you need to apologize for.”
“Oh,” Nezumi said, blushing. “Still…I didn’t mean for this to happen again.”
Lee swallowed hard. “It is ok.”
Nezumi paused, a question rising in her throat. “Rock?” she said, nerves thickening her voice.
“Yes?”
“Um…do you…I mean…is this ok? Do you mind?”
Lee took a long breath before finally answering. “No. I do not mind.” Nervously, he added, “Do you?”
“No,” Nezumi admitted, her face catching fire. “I don’t mind.”
“Oh…”
His arms gripped her a little tighter. His hand drew a small circle in her back, encouraging her to relax. Nezumi adjusted slightly, then did just that, melting slightly in his arms.
They remained intertwined for what could have been hours or minutes, neither of them knew. Nezumi vaguely thought they should get up and get breakfast, given that they had such a long day ahead. But she made no move to do so. Lee never did either. Nor did either of them speak, both content to just lie there together, soaking up each other’s presence.
Eventually, the room was completely lit from the sun. Nezumi sighed, sitting up and saying they needed to get food. Lee agreed and followed her downstairs, but he looked as disappointed as she felt that their quiet morning had ended.
They ate breakfast quickly, chatting amicably about nothing over oatmeal and tea. Nezumi noted that Lee had gotten exceptionally good at that, able to come up with topics at the drop of a hat and keep the conversation going. It was evidence of just how much he’d improved since starting this mission.
“So, what is the plan for after breakfast?” Lee asked, taking a sip.
“Head back to the room and make sure everything is packed,” Nezumi replied. “Then I guess just check out and head home.”
Lee nodded, his expression growing sympathetic. “I am sorry you did not get to enjoy this vacation as much.”
“My own fault,” Nezumi replied, waving her hand. “We’ll just have to come back another day.”
Lee’s face lit up. “What a marvelous idea! I would love to come back sometime.”
“You two are leaving us today?”
Nezumi looked up to see Sadako smiling at them, a tray of baked goods balanced on her hand.
“I’m afraid so,” Nezumi replied. “It’s a shame, I would love to stay longer.”
Sadako beamed at her. “Of course, I understand. Please feel free to visit us again any time.” She offered them a pair of strawberry muffins. “Here, I noticed these were your favorites.”
“Thank you so much,” Nezumi said, dipping her head as she accepted hers.
“Of course,” Sadako said, bowing. “If I miss you at checkout, have a safe trip back.”
“Thank you!” Lee said, beaming.
Nezumi smiled, then lifted the muffin to her lips. As she went to take a bite, a strange scent hit her nose. The muffin did smell of strawberry, but the scent was much too strong. She carefully glanced around the room, angling her vision so she could watch Sadako without looking directly at her. Sadako was walking back towards the kitchen, but just before she slipped through the door, she looked back in Nezumi’s direction, her expression unreadable.
Nezumi fixed her expression in a sweet smile. “I’m about full,” she said. “I think we should take these with us and eat them on the road.”
Lee looked at her curiously. “Are you sure? We are not in any rush. We could just take our time and enjoy our meal before we go.”
Nezumi met his gaze, silently pleading for him to understand. “Trust me. That way, we also don’t have to worry about lunch later.”
Lee’s eyebrows narrowed ever so slightly. “All right.”
The two walked out of the breakfast nook and headed upstairs. Nezumi wasn’t able to look at Sadako again, but as they climbed the stairs, she felt her hair standing up on the back of her head as if she was being watched.
As soon as the door closed behind them, Nezumi slid the extra latch shut. Lee turned to her. “Is something wrong, Nezumi?”
“I think so,” she replied. “Give me your muffin.”
Lee immediately handed it over. Nezumi set both muffins on the dresser, then pulled a pair of paper seals from her pack. She laid one on top of each muffin, then wove a quick series of hand signs over them. As she finished, the seals glowed red, then changed to a deep green.
“I knew it,” Nezumi said. “These are drugged.”
Lee’s face paled. “Drugged?”
Nezumi nodded, tightening her pigtails. “I don’t know how, but we’ve been found out,” she said. “Change into your ninja gear and grab your stuff. We need to go.”
Lee nodded and threw his civilian clothes into his pack. Nezumi raced into the bathroom, trading her dress for her sleeker blouse and pants. They circled the room, grabbing the seals they’d set the first night and making sure nothing else was left. Then Nezumi set the key next to the two muffins and opened the shoji.
As they stepped onto the porch, they heard footsteps in the hallway outside the room. A scratching sound came from the door, then an annoyed grunt as someone rattled the doorknob. Nezumi and Lee exchanged a look, then darted onto the next roof.
They didn’t look back as they left Yugakure behind. They raced through the trees, channeling as much chakra as they could spare into their legs. The sun rose directly overhead as they approached the border, each silently praying they would cross in time.
As they entered a clearing by a river, an eerie whistling sound filled the air. They both looked up to see a storm of shuriken about to rain down on them. Lee and Nezumi immediately drew their kunai, knocking away as many as they could. A few still bit into their arms and legs, but they managed to deflect the ones aimed at their most vital spots.
Leaves rustled above their heads. Lee threw his kunai up and was rewarded with a loud groan. Two Otogakure ninja jumped down, one clutching his arm where the kunai had found its mark. He wrenched it out, then threw it back, only for Nezumi to knock it away. “Who are you?” she demanded. “What do you want?”
“Doesn’t matter who we are,” one said, sneering at her. “Just come with us and we might let you live.”
“No,” Lee said firmly. He moved between them and Nezumi. “Go, get back to the village. I’ll hold them off.”
“What? No!” Nezumi said. “That’s not-”
“It’s too late for that anyway,” said a haughty voice. From behind them, another figure stepped from the trees. She was tall, with brown hair piled elegantly in a bun. She wore a pair of gauntlets on her arms, each armed with spiky barbs.
Nezumi glared at her. “Who the hell are you?”
“Lady Teruya of Otogakure,” the woman said, bowing sarcastically. “And I’ve been dying to talk to you privately for days...Nezumi Chisaki of Konoha.”
Nezumi’s mouth thinned, her mind whirling as she tried to come up with a plan. She eyed the river, then slowly moved around Lee. “How did you find out about me?”
Teruya chuckled. “You just have to know who to ask,” she said. “Miss Sadako was rather helpful, for example, pointing out your unusual activities in our village. And for another…” She held up a bloody, crumpled piece of paper. “Your little rat didn’t put up much of a fight.”
Nezumi paled. Her report had never reached Konoha. They were completely on their own.
“Now then,” Teruya said. “You’re going to come with us, and we’re going to see what else you know.”
“Rock, get ready,” Nezumi whispered.
He glanced at her and nodded.
As the other shinobi appeared behind them, Nezumi’s hands whirled through a series of signs. “Water Release, Water Binding Jutsu!”
A torrent of water erupted from the river, splitting into three branches. It slammed the two men against a nearby tree, binding them there. Teruya managed to leap away so the water only gripped her ankle, and she furiously cut at the watery rope with a kunai.
Lee and Nezumi took off again, branches and leaves tearing at their skin as they sped towards the border. Teruya let out a furious shout, but they ignored it as they pressed forward.
Then the forest around them exploded.
A loud roar catapulted dirt and debris into the air. The ground and trees burst, shards of wood and rock raining down on them like shuriken. Lee shielded his head with his arms, grunting as shards of wood pierced his jumpsuit.“Nezumi, are you all right?” he coughed, trying not to breathe in the dirt. When she didn’t reply, he stopped moving and turned around. Nezumi was kneeling on the forest floor, holding her leg.
“Nezumi!” Lee immediately dropped next to her. “Are you all right?”
She shook her head. She tried to stand, but groaned, immediately sitting back down. She pulled back her pant leg, revealing a sliver of wood sticking out of her calf. “I don’t think I can walk,” she said, pain clear in her voice.
“Then I will carry you,” Lee replied, looping an arm around her. “Hold on-“
A high-pitched sound filled the clearing. Lee immediately covered his ears, but it did little to help as the sound invaded his senses. He groaned, his vision swimming and his stomach churning, trying to stay on his feet.
When the sound stopped, Teruya was in front of him, one hand tangled in Nezumi’s hair and a spiked gauntlet against her throat. “Think very carefully about your next move,” Teruya growled. “Either you come with me now and live a little longer, or I just kill you both right now.”
“Let her go!” Lee growled, brandishing his kunai.
Teruya pressed the spikes against Nezumi’s skin. They easily pierced her flesh, trickles of blood oozing out. “You’re in no position to bargain, young man. Unless you want me to rip her throat open right now, you’ll throw down your weapon and surrender.”
Lee clenched his fists. But, when Teruya began to press a little harder, he immediately dropped everything. “Nezumi…” he whispered. “I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you.”
Nezumi took a deep breath, then nodded slowly. “It’s ok,” she whispered. “Trust me.”
Lee nodded, then closed his eyes as the Oto ninja overwhelmed him.
~
The next few hours were hell.
Nezumi and Lee were dragged through the forest until they reached the entrance of an underground lair, where they were separated. Nezumi was taken to an interrogation chamber, and under Teruya’s watch, she was beaten within an inch of her life. Her captors asked her over and over again what she knew and how she knew it. Nezumi just kept her head down and stayed silent, enduring whatever they could dish out and praying that Lee, wherever he was, was still alive.
When they finally stopped, she didn’t even have the energy to be grateful.
They dragged her down a new hallway to a jail, then threw her inside a cell and slammed the door shut. She waited until they were gone, then curled around herself in the corner and took stock of her injuries. The cut in her leg from where the wood had stabbed her still hurt and inhibited her mobility. There were fresh cuts everywhere else, from her face all the way down to her feet, though most of these were shallow. The worst injuries were to her right hand, where two of her fingers were broken, and a cracked rib, which made it hurt to breathe.
She sucked a deep breath, then put her hand to her chest. Her ribs burned as she fused them back together, and her vision went white. But she pushed through until she could breathe again. Then she put her hand to her leg, searing the wound closed.
Before she could start on her hand, she heard another cell door slam shut across the hall. “We’ll be back tomorrow for round two,” said the ninja, sneering at someone Nezumi couldn’t see. “You all have a good night.”
He walked away. A few seconds later, she heard Lee groan softly.
“Rock?” she called. “Is that you?”
His voice came back low and mumbled, his words completely indecipherable. This was followed by a low, agonized groan. His hand gripped the bars, his fingers painted with fresh blood.
She looked around her cell, spotting a blanket-covered cot on the opposite wall. She felt along its wooden frame and was rewarded by a set of fraying splinters underneath. She pried the two largest loose, then tore some strips from the blanket. She used the fragments to splint her fingers, wincing as she tied them tight. She took a few seconds to manipulate the pillow and blanket, making it look like she was curled up on the bed. Then she wove signs with her uninjured hand. “Shrinking Violet Jutsu.”
Once she was the size of a shogi piece, she darted out of her cell and into Lee’s. She groaned as undid the jutsu, wiping fresh beads of sweat from her face as fresh spikes of pain shot through her.
When she opened her eyes again, her heart stopped.
Lee was leaning against his cot, his body looking like a broken doll. Blood stained his lips, dripping onto his torn jumpsuit, and his jaw had swelled to twice its normal size. One of Lee’s eyes was swollen shut. More blood seeped from cuts all over his body. He was a complete mess.
And yet, in spite of all this, his expression still brightened as soon as he saw her.
He tried to say something, but then his eyes shut and he groaned in pain. Nezumi was at his side in an instant. “Don’t try to talk yet,” she murmured. “Let me see.”
Hands glowing green with chakra, she examined him carefully in the dim light. She quickly confirmed her suspicions that his jaw was broken. The cuts made everything look worse, but apart from one on his thigh that was near an artery in his arm, his jaw was the only major concern.
“First thing’s first, I’m going to heal your jaw,” Nezumi said, gingerly placing her fingertips on his face. “I’ll be as gentle as I can, but it’s going to hurt no matter what I do. I have to reset it so it can heal properly.”
Lee nodded. He tried to smile, but the movement of his face made him wince, so he settled for a thumbs up instead.
“Try to stay still for me,” Nezumi said. “On three. One, two, three.”
She jerked her hands, snapping his jaw back into alignment. His eyes watered as he let out a low groan, but otherwise he stayed perfectly still. Nezumi immediately pumped healing chakra into his face, reducing the swelling. “The worst is over,” she assured him. “Thank you for being so cooperative.”
“Of course,” Lee said, his voice still muffled. “And thank you, Nezumi. That feels much better already.”
Guilt hit Nezumi hard. She lowered her head, unable to meet his gaze. “I’m sorry. You wouldn’t be in this position right now if it wasn’t for me,” Nezumi replied. “If I hadn’t been so weak…”
Lee rested his hand on her shoulder. “Please do not blame yourself,” he said. “The only ones who are at fault are the ones who did this to us.”
Nezumi shook her head. “I’m your leader for this mission. So your being here is my fault.”
Lee shook his head. “You do not need to be so hard on yourself,” he said, wincing as Nezumi pressed harder against his skin.
“You’re sweet, Rock,” Nezumi said. “But that is part of my job.”
Lee shook his head, but didn’t argue further. “What is the plan?” he asked instead.
“Working on it,” Nezumi said. “But we have several disadvantages. We don’t know the layout of this place. We’re injured. And we need a key to get you out.” She sighed. “What I really need is more time, but I don’t know how long they intend to let us live.”
“Not long at all, I imagine.” Lee frowned. “Wait…a key to get me out?”
Nezumi nodded. “This isn’t the first time I’ve been captured,” she replied. “But I always get taken alone. The plan is always to just wait until I’m left alone, then use my jutsu to shrink down and escape.” She gestured at him. “Obviously, I can’t do that now.”
Lee paled. “So…when you were telling me to go…”
“It was because I knew I could get myself out.”
“I am so sorry!” Lee said. “I did not realize-”
Nezumi laid her hand on his shoulder. “You didn’t know. You don’t have to apologize,” she said. “I’m used to having partners who already know that, so it slipped my mind when I was explaining things to you. And it’s not like I could have told you that in the moment.”
“No…” Lee said. “But I am sorry all the same.”
“Don’t worry about it,” she said. “Just be with me here and now so we can escape.”
Lee squeezed her hand back. “I can do that.”
A cold draft blew through the cell. Nezumi shivered, letting him go and crossing her arms to protect herself from the chill.
“Are you all right?” Lee asked.
“Yeah,” Nezumi said, trying to keep her teeth from chattering. “Just cold. Nothing to worry about.”
Lee reached behind him, grabbing the ragged blanket from the cot. He draped it around Nezumi’s shoulders, shielding her from the frigid air. He cautiously pulled her closer until she nestled against him, then rubbed her arms, trying to smooth the goosebumps away. “Is this better?” he asked.
“A little,” Nezumi said. She swallowed hard, trying to keep her mind on track. “Thank you.”
“Of course,” Lee murmured. “I only wish I could do more.”
“You’re doing plenty,” Nezumi said. She rested her head against his shoulder, stifling a yawn. “I’m sorry,” she said. “I just used a lot of chakra.”
“Then rest,” Lee said. “I will watch over you.”
Nezumi didn’t fight him, relaxing in his arms and closing her eyes. “I promise,” she murmured. “One way or another, I’m going to get you home.”
~
Lee maintained his vigil for several hours, cradling Nezumi in his arms as she slept and doing his best to keep her warm. She nuzzled him periodically in her sleep, occasionally murmuring his name. Lee rubbed her back whenever she did, the word precious once again floating through his mind.
He had a moment of panic when a guard brought them food. He turned on his side to hide her, adjusting the blanket and praying no one would see. Fortunately, the guard wasn’t paying attention. He just threw the food into their cells and left, not even glancing their way once as he muttered something about babysitting prisoners. The jail door slammed behind him, his keys jangling on his belt.
Lee’s head snapped up, looking at the door. Then he looked down at Nezumi. She still looked peaceful, completely at ease in his arms.
Precious.
“Nezumi,” he whispered, gently shaking her.
“Hm?” Nezumi asked, blinking her eyes sleepily. “What is it?”
“I have a plan.”
Nezumi immediately became more alert. “Tell me.”
Lee leaned closer, whispering his idea in her ear. Nezumi listened intently, nodding along as he spoke. “Rock, that’s brilliant,” she said as he finished.
He scratched the back of his head sheepishly. “Thank you.”
Nezumi grinned, then gave him a quick once-over. “How are you feeling?”
“Sore, but it is nothing I cannot deal with.”
Nezumi leaned closer, gently brushing her fingers along his face. “The swelling has gone down, but you’ll need additional healing once we get home.” She smiled apologetically. “I’m sorry I can’t spare the chakra right now.”
“That is all right,” Lee assured her. “Do not worry…”
His voice faltered as he realized just how close Nezumi’s face was. She was inches away, studying him closely. Her fingers came to rest by his ear, her palm resting on his cheek as her thumb brushed away a flake of dried blood. She was as ragged as the blanket, her hair a mess and spots of dried blood on her clothes. But what struck him the most was the sheer care she was expressing. Her reassuring smile, her soft eyes that swept over him, the gentle way she touched him. It went beyond the simple attentiveness a medic gave a patient, or a leader to their subordinate. She cared about him.
And as he looked at her, glowing in the soft light despite her messy state, he knew he was lost.
He picked up her hand, clasping it between his own. “I will be fine,” he murmured. “Trust me.”
“I do,” Nezumi said softly.
His heart skipped a beat. He wanted to say so much more, but his body betrayed him as a yawn escaped his throat. “I apologize.”
“You’re just tired,” she said. “Rest up for now. Once they return for us, I’ll need you ready and alert.”
Lee nodded. “I can do that.”
~
It only took another hour before they heard someone finally approach. Lee remained as still as possible, looking across the hall. He could make out Nezumi’s silhouette, silently sitting on her cot, waiting. She nodded at him, and he gave her a thumbs up.
“All right,” the guard grunted, dropping a bowl of mushy grains in Nezumi’s cell. “You maggots better eat fast. We don’t have all day.”
He turned to Lee, chucking the bowl through the bars. Lee caught the bowl and immediately threw it back. The guard ducked out of the way, then sneered at him. “You really thought you could get me with that?” he taunted, stepping closer to his cell. “Nice try. I’m gonna enjoy watching you suf-”
A small piece of wood collided with the back of his head. Furious, the guard turned around, only to have Nezumi’s foot slam into his chest a second later. He let out a shout as he fell back against the bars. Before he could recover, Lee pounced, grabbing the guard’s arms and pinning them back. He continued to shout, struggling against Lee’s iron grasp as he tried to knock the radio on his hip into the bars. Nezumi grabbed his face, her hand glowing with blue chakra. A moment later, the guard gasped and fell limp.
Once he was out, Nezumi grabbed the ring of keys from his belt. “Ok, you can let him go,” she said, putting the first key in the lock.
Lee nodded, looking curiously at him. “What was that?”
“Just a basic knockout jutsu,” Nezumi replied as the lock clicked open. “Come on. It won’t be long before they come looking for him.”
They took off through the maze of tunnels. They immediately came to a three-way fork and hesitated, looking down each path carefully. Nezumi conjured a small flame in her hands, studying which way the flame flickered. They went to the right, racing down a hallway lined with identical doors. Then, at the next fork, the flame guided them straight ahead.
An alarm blared overhead. The dim lights lining the walls glowed red, making the hall appear bathed in blood. They heard muffled shouts and several footsteps growing louder in the distance. Nezumi skidded to a stop in front of a door and pushed on it. It opened, revealing a room filled with wooden crates. Lee and Nezumi squeezed inside, shutting the door just as the shouting horde passed. Then, once all was silent, they slipped back out and ran the way the horde had come from.
They repeated the maneuver several times as the hideout became flooded with Sound shinobi. They hid in barracks and storage closets, each time barely escaping notice. In their fourth room, shinobi stopped outside the door, and Nezumi had to summon a mouse to distract them. After the fifth, someone spotted them as they slipped around a corner and into a dead end. Lee knocked him out as soon as he rounded the corner.
Finally, they reached the end of the hallway and entered a large room, a pair of ornate doors on the opposite side. Sunlight streamed underneath, letting them know they were in the right spot. Unfortunately, between the door and themselves were eight Sound shinobi, all of whom turned toward them as soon as they entered.
Lee brought one hand up and tucked the other behind his back, adrenaline pumping through his veins. Nezumi pressed her shoulder against his. “Don’t take any unnecessary risks,” she whispered. “Just break through the line and get to the exit.”
“Understood,” Lee said. “I am ready.”
“Then let’s go home.”
They charged as one. The Sound shinobi charged back, raising a flurry of strange weapons. Nezumi could see the air moving through them and slapped her hands together. “Water Release, Water Shuriken!”
Several shuriken made of water appeared in her hands. She fired them off, each one finding its mark in the bodies and weapons of the Sound. Five shinobi fell to the ground, and three more threw their weapons down. One of the ones still standing raised an axe, then slammed it into the ground. Lee and Nezumi leapt into the air, shuddering as they felt the vibrations pass underneath them. The axe-wielder raised it again, but this time, Lee grabbed the handle as he swung it down. He easily wrenched it from the shinobi’s hand, then kicked him into the wall before breaking the axe in half.
Another shinobi leapt forward, unfurling thick cords that writhed like snakes. These wrapped around Lee, binding him tight. As he fought to free himself, the cords vibrated, and an eerie sound played through them. He suddenly felt ill, the entire world tilting on its axis.
Nezumi cried out his name, sounding far away. Lee squinted at her, and through his hazy vision, he could see her summon a ribbon of flame. It scorched across the cords, melting them into a puddle. They immediately went slack and the vibrations stopped. Lee stood back up, forcing himself to fight through the dizziness as another shinobi advanced on him.
Nezumi engaged the cord-wielder, ignoring the beads of sweat forming on her forehead. She grabbed a kunai off of one of the fallen shinobi and summoned a wreath of flames around it. She threw it hard, smiling as it found its mark in her opponent’s heart. She wrenched her weapon out, then turned just in time to block a large man bearing down on her with a warhammer. He slammed the hammer down just as Nezumi skidded to the side, the hammer smashing the stones where she’d just been standing. Then he let out a cry before falling forward, a kunai lodged in his back.
Nezumi panted as she looked over. Lee gave her a thumbs up, his opponent currently unconscious on the ground. “Are you still all right?”
“Yeah,” Nezumi replied, blocking the next shinobi and kicking them across the room. Only one left and they were home free.
The remaining Sound shinobi stood firm, even as Lee and Nezumi leapt as one. Their fists collided with his face, knocking him to the ground with a single unified punch. Nezumi grinned, taking a deep breath. “Ok, let’s go,” she said.
A blast of sound filled the room, throwing Nezumi and Lee against the wall. Lee groaned and rubbed his head, blood leaking from one of his ears.
Then, pain.
Lee screamed as something stabbed into his chest. He wrenched his watering eyes open to see Teruya driving a sword through him. “And where do you think you’re going?” she growled.
“Stop!” Nezumi screamed. “Let him go!”
“Or what?” Teruya asked, twisting the blade and laughing as Lee shouted in agony. “I don’t think you’re in any position to bargain right now, Miss Chisaki.”
Nezumi held up her hands. “What do you want?”
“Hmm,” Teruya said. “Right now, I can’t think of anything I’d like more than your head on a platter.” She grinned viciously. “Though if you want to start talking, I might reconsider.”
“Let him go, and we can chat,” Nezumi said.
“Hmm, fine,” Teruya said, wrenching the sword from Lee’s chest.
Lee gasped as he fell forward, blood flowing freely from his wound. He already felt lightheaded, his vision swimming. “Rock!” Nezumi screamed.
“There, he’s free to go,” Teruya said. “Though he probably won’t get very far.”
Nezumi looked up at her, her expression darkening.
Teruya laughed and continued. “You really ought to consider these things more carefully. You never know how someone might twist your words - hrk!”
Nezumi’s hand, perfectly straight and glowing blue with chakra, carved straight through Teruya’s chest.
In an instant, Teruya’s expression went from haughty to shocked. Her mouth fell open and her eyes glazed over. She let out a faint gurgling noise, her body slackening. Nezumi threw her against the wall, where she crumpled into a ball and went still.
Nezumi knelt in front of Lee, tearing away the torso of his jumpsuit. The chakra around her hands turned green, and she pressed them against his wound, pouring as much chakra as she could into his body. “Rock, please, stay with me,” she pleaded.
Lee nodded, though even that took effort. “I will,” he promised. He suddenly paled. “Nezumi, behind you!”
Nezumi glanced back, then ducked as a kunai flew over her head. She kept her hands on Lee’s wound, still funneling chakra into it even as more shinobi entered the room.
“Nezumi, you must go,” Lee said. “If you continue to heal me, you will get hurt.”
“No,” Nezumi replied.
Another shinobi attacked, swinging a sword down towards Nezumi’s head. Her foot shot out behind her, catching him in the stomach and sending him flying. She gritted her teeth as the green chakra flickered. “Damn it, come on,” she hissed, renewing her concentration.
“Nezumi, please,” Lee said. “More are coming!”
“Damn it, Rock, I’m not gonna just let you die!”
As his wound shrank, Lee’s vision returned to normal and he felt less lightheaded. He tried to move his legs, but they shook like a newborn colt’s. “Don’t try to move yet,” Nezumi ordered. “You’ve lost a lot of blood.”
Lee gritted his teeth. Against her orders, he grabbed a set of shuriken. The next wave of ninjas came, firing senbon at them Lee fired back, and his weapons found their marks. Three ninjas dropped, the room finally falling silent.
“Almost done,” Nezumi said, exhaustion clear in her voice. “Just a little more…”
The wound on Lee’s chest sealed. “That’ll get us home,” she said, wiping the sweat from her brow. She then looped her arm around him “Now come on.”
Lee struggled to walk even with Nezumi’s help. Everything felt slower and more painful, even once they were back out in the forest. He gritted his teeth, trying to push himself to go faster.
“Easy,” Nezumi said. “Don’t go too fast or you’ll reopen the wound.”
“I will try,” Lee said. “But I do not-”
Nezumi stopped in her tracks.
“Nezumi?”
She swayed on the spot, then tipped forward, landing face-down on the forest floor.
“Nezumi!”
Lee dropped next to her, hastily checking her vitals. Her pulse was weak and erratic, her breathing shallow. She was warm despite having been in the chilly prison, and she was drenched in sweat. He recognized the symptoms - chakra exhaustion, the same as before. Except this time, she also had a series of senbon piercing her back, blood dripping from where they pierced her skin.
Lee hastily gathered her into his arms, careful to avoid the needles. Then he pushed on through the forest, willing himself to go faster. He held her tight, groaning as his muscles protested. “Come on, come on,” he pleaded. He glanced down at her face, which was rapidly growing pale.
She let out a shuddering gasp, then went still.
“No, no, Nezumi!” Tears dripped from his eyes, sprinkling on the ground below them. “Please! You are precious to me, Nezumi! Do not leave me yet!”
When she didn’t reply, pain tore through Lee’s heart, more potent than any blade. He let out a howl of fury, then gritted his teeth as his body boiled. “Eight Inner Gates, First Gate, open!”
His skin turned a furious red as chakra surged through his body, his energy restored. Gripping Nezumi tightly, he tore through the forest, disintegrating trees and rocks as he passed. He barely noticed as they crossed the border, his focus entirely on getting back to the village, which was hours away for most ninja even at top speed.
It took him less than an hour.

Hey :)
This one probably works better in the canon universe (but who knows, maybe it could be fun in "okay it's serious" too)
A camping weekend. Like they go away for 2 or 3 days and have some alone time in the woods or next to a lake or something. Also outdoor sex :)
Hey thank you for the prompt! I've never done one of these before so I hope this is okay :)
-----
“Come swimming with me.”
Percy turned down the dial on the grill and looked over his shoulder at his girlfriend.
“I’m making dinner,” he told her.
“I wanna swim,” she repeated, scratching her arm.
“Can’t we swim after we’ve eaten?” he asked, amused.
She shook her head, “no, we should go now.”
“What happened to reading your book?” he nodded towards the hammock that she’d just vacated.
“I’m getting eaten alive,” she whined.
“You literally grew up in the woods,” he retorted, turning back to the barbeque and flipping a burger.
“Please,” she drew out, coming up behind him and leaning her head against his back.
“The food is almost ready, we can go right after we eat,” he promised, stirring the beans.
She wrapped her arms around him and tucked her hands into the little kangaroo pocket in his hoodie, “but then we’ll have to wait another fourty-five minutes to digest and it’s gonna be dark by then.”
“I thought you said that was a myth.”
He could feel her smile against his back, “I thought you said my fun facts weren’t that fun.”
He put the vegetables on low heat to simmer and slid his hands into the same pocket, threading their fingers, “definitely not fun, but useful when I can use them against you,” he joked, giving her a squeeze.
She dug her forehead between his shoulder blades, “what can I do to entice you?”
He shook his head, “it’s impossible to bribe me when I’m hungry.”
“I’ll let you make the fire tonight,” she offered.
He pulled a hand free to flatten the burgers with the spatula, “hmm, no you’re pretty good at it.”
“What if I tell Leo about all your failed attempts,” she threatened.
He moved sideways to grab the bag of buns, and she shuffled with him, still tucked against his back, “everyone already knows you’re better at things than me, I’m not embarrassed.”
He took out two buns and laid them on the paper plates.
“I’ll let you have the last pudding cup,” she tried next.
He pursed his lips as he shoved the spatula under the burgers and set them on top of the buns, “tempting,” he admitted, “but, I think I’d still rather eat this delicious meal I’ve prepared.”
“What if I scratch your back before bed?” she pointed at the tomatoes, “can I have two?”
He nodded and placed two slices on her burger, before scooping some beans onto each plate, “I do love a good back scratch,” he agreed. He gestured behind them with his thumb, “can you pour me some water?”
Annabeth retracted herself to grab a cup for each of them, as he picked up both plates and brought them to the picnic table. She slipped onto the bench across from him and passed him his drink.
“Thanks,” he muttered, taking a big swig.
“Thanks for making dinner,” she replied, squeezing ketchup onto her patty.
He shrugged with a grin, “I wanted something edible tonight.”
She rolled her eyes and dug her fork into her beans to take a large bite, “I know how to cook.”
He picked up his burger, “last time we had your food I chipped a tooth.”
“You’re mean,” she grumbled, drawing a knee to her chest and leaning her chin on it.
His smile widened. She looked so cute in an oversized sweater with her hair thrown into a messy bun at the top of her head. They hadn’t showered in two days, and she had a bit of dirt smudged on her nose, but he thought she’d never looked more beautiful. He’d rather dirt than blood.
“I make the meals, you make our fires,” he said, “I think that’s a fair trade.”
He opened his mouth to take a bite of his burger.
“What if we go skinny dipping?”
The food hovered between his lips as he narrowed his eyes, “you wanna go skinny dipping right now?” he repeated.
She smirked and nodded. His eyes flickered to her bare skin, her loose shorts falling high on her thighs, before glancing back at his burger.
His head fell back, “Beth I spent thirty minutes making this food,” he complained.
She shrugged, failing to smother a smug grin, “it’s up to you.”
He exhaled and shut his eyes, making a silent apology to his hungry stomach. He pushed himself up from the table and scooped up both of their plates, “you’re evil.”
She jumped up as well, eyes twinkling. He carried the food to the car, pulling open the door and dropping the plates onto the passenger seat so that no animals would be attracted to their campsite. That would be just their luck.
Annabeth was already peeling off her sweater as she raced down towards the lake. Percy shouted after her, sprinting to catch up. He shimmied his shorts down, hopping as he went to get them loose, eyes raking over her form as she swivelled out of her own shorts. He flung his shirt next to her pile of clothes, watching as she unhooked her bra and crossed her arms over her chest, walking backwards into the water. He stumbled forward, only slightly self-conscious about stripping off his boxers on the deserted beach. He prayed no one caught them, that would be just their luck too.
She was up to her thighs, slowly wading deeper into the current, her hair tumbling out of her bun around her shoulders. The sunset spun her blonde curls into gold, her wide eyes bright and mischievous as she waited for him. Percy thought she looked more beautiful than any siren or goddess he’d ever met.
He cupped his crotch and sprinted forward, splashing through the water and tackling her around the waist, listening to the joyful screech she let out in his ear as they fell backwards into the wake. They popped up spluttering, and she ran her fingers through her hair, pushing her damp waves away from her face.
He wrapped his arm around her back and pulled her close as her hands fell to his shoulders, chest to chest, heart to heart.
“This was nice,” she said eventually, still a little breathless.
He nodded, “it was good to get away for a bit,” he whispered.
She nudged her nose against his, “we should do this more often.”
He hummed in agreement, “we should. I like spending time with you outside of camp and our dorms.”
She traced her finger along his collarbone, “yeah, we needed the break.”
“I’m glad you suggested it,” he said quietly.
“Me too.”
He tucked a curl behind her ear, cupping her jaw and tugging her in so he could press a soft kiss to her lips. She lifted one of her legs and wrapped it around his thigh, her smooth calf brushing against his skin, pushing them together intimately. Her hand slid around his neck and tugged at the hair at the nape of his neck. She turned her head and traced her tongue along the seam of his mouth, looking to deepen the kiss. He bit down gently on her bottom lip in retaliation and she let out a low moan.
He leaned back with his brows raised, “oh yeah?”
She nodded, “mhm.”
“Right here?” he asked, watching the way her chest rose and fell in the water.
“Right here,” she muttered in assent, grey eyes darkened.
“Gods I love you,” he told her before grabbing her hips and tilting forward to capture her lips again.

paleolithic. i looked it up. | clint + oliver
@justlikethenamesays
He knew that there was only so long he'd be allowed to actively live in a fuck it all stage. When the Brooklyn Boys and Rhodey became staples in his life, he knew shit was about to get real different from it being Nat. But pure silence from who was supposed to be his best friend, when he knew she was talking to people around him? Nah, he wasn't waiting around.
When Bucky had talked to him about the archer over in Gotham, he hadn't even had to think about it. Rhodey was encouraging about it, and it soothed something rough in him. It would be nice to be around someone who understood the arrow thing and didn't just humor it.
Gotham was an absolute shithole and he fuckin' loved it as he made his way to the location Bucky'd given him. Looking around the streets around the gym, he was careful, even if the guy was trusted. Slipping into the gym, he automatically drew his bow at the creak of the board across the space. "Sup, dude?"
--
Oliver was glad to have Felicity and the Justice League here on this strange Earth, but he was having to face some hard truths about his team. Dinah was too much of an unknown quantity, Roy wasn't Roy, and it didn't look like Dig or Thea were turning up any time soon. He didn't enjoy working with the Bats, too used to running his own team in his own city, and while he respected what they did, it wasn't the same as wanting to be part of it. If Team Arrow had a chance here, then he needed some new people.
He liked working with Bucky whenever he and Steve passed through Gotham. The guy had a similar sense of humor to his, and his skillset was impressive, even for Oliver whose default setting was Not Impressed. Steve enjoyed staying behind with Felicity, and their two tactical brains together was enough to make his own start to overheat at times. He'd come to trust them both, but they had their hands full back in New York with the Avengers. Gotham was like a vacation for them. He needed someone more permanent.
He trusted Bucky enough to take a recommendation from him, and he could admit he was intrigued by the idea of another archer. The gym had become a kind of haven, even if Felicity insisted he was too mean as an instructor. Diana's all-women class was certainly a hit. He raised his hands, free of weapons, when the guy he assumed was Clint pulled his bow. Oliver didn't have his on him in what he considered his home, but he knew where every weapon in the room was stashed. "Not a trial by fire." The corner of his mouth pulled up in amusement. "I take it you're Clint?"
--
His eyes quickly catalogued the man in the space with him, recognizing the build that came with the constant use of a bow plus the extra work that just came with the secret identity. The corner of his lips quirked up in a grin and he shrugged a shoulder, loosening his draw and tucking the arrow back into his quiver. "Nah, but after running the roofs of the glorious shithole that is Gotham, do you blame me?"
He laughed as he slung his bow to his back. "But yeah, I'm Clint. Hawkeye, in the Avengers book of ridiculous codenames, but to be fair, I gave myself my own a long time before that," he grinned easily at him. "Nice to meet you, Oliver. Good spot you got here, but I've gotta ask... what kinda masochist is a vigilante by night and gym trainer by day? Do you never veg and just eat pizza all day?" The look on his face was clearly teasing, even if his face said truly appalled, because it really was both.
--
"Now that you mention it, *that* might have been the trial by fire. Believe it or not, it's actually a little worse on this Earth." He chuckled softly. One of the quickest ways to get in Oliver's good graces was to hate Gotham as much as he did, so it was safe to say Clint made an immediate good impression. He was surprised by how much it set him at ease just to see another archer who obviously knew what he was doing. His build, his stance, the way the bow was basically an extension of his arm. He ignored the familiar tug of missing Thea and their Roy.
"Oliver. Nice to meet you." He gave a nod instead of offering a hand in case he wanted to keep his distance until they were more sure of each other. Oliver wasn't quite that paranoid, but he fully understood and respected people who were. "My city named me the Green Arrow, so I can't really make fun of anyone's codenames. It's a little on the nose, but it's not as bad as Elongated Man or Captain Boomerang."
He shook his head as he glanced around the space. It was starting to feel more like home, but it was a work in progress compared to their headquarters at home. "Honestly? It wasn't really a calculated career move. We needed a base, and there's no record of this place having a basement. You'd have to really be looking for it. And the go-to fast food in Gotham is Big Belly Burger." He grinned, tipping his head toward the back of the gym. All the truly interesting stuff was downstairs.
--
Laughing easily, he nodded, "I mean, it's a good trial. Gotta avoid a few gunshots, really shitty building because holy hell those are some weak roofs in some places, but like... the rest of the building's good." It was a whole different thing than New York City, and he didn't go near Metropolis often. He stood out in a place that shiny.
Paranoia wasn't something he was really big on and he stepped closer, offering his hand properly. If they were going to work together, better to start now, and he trusted Bucky's judgement on this. "Hey, it's cool that your city named you though," he pointed out. "Elongated Man? That just sounds...." He trailed off and shuddered in disgust at the imagery conjured up from it.
He didn't mind the vibe of the place, really, and thought it was better than any S.H.I.E.L.D. gym because it at least had some character. "Nice! Oooooh Big Belly Burger sounds right up my alley. I passed a few on the way here and had to tell myself to wait. I had pizza on the way outta New York." He gestured for him to lead the way with a grin. "Good ole basement headquarters, I love it. My old crew ran outta a shiny ass tower and then a shiny big complex. Too lofty for me."
--
"No joke. I couldn't design a worse obstacle course. This city is a shithole on every Earth. Mine's under water though, so Gotham it is." He shook his head, a grim set to his mouth. He'd never love it here like he loved Star City, but he thought he and Felicity could do the most good here. If it was bad enough for Bruce to extend an invitation, it was bad.
He gave his hand a firm shake, the corner of his mouth pulling up in a smile. "It's as gross as it sounds," he confirmed. It was also, tragically, on the nose, and he'd never be able to unsee it. "Then we'll celebrate after our first mission." He often picked up food for Felicity on the way home, knowing she usually stayed up until he got in even when she wasn't working as Overwatch.
"That's Stark Tower, right? The big ugly one in New York City?" Felicity was right. All the billionaires and their towers. It was a whole thing. "Sounds organized though. Is that a good or a bad thing?" Oliver could admire the Justice League's organization and also be eternally glad he wasn't in charge of it. Running his team was more than enough for him. He led the way downstairs, which had far better equipment than the upstairs with Felicity's bank of computers and whatever training equipment he'd managed to find, including the salmon ladder at her insistence.
--
He winced at the idea of his favorite place being underwater and shook his head. "I mean, if you can't save the city you want to, going for the city that needs it most is probably the next best option," he shrugged. He'd never been particular on one city or another, never had a reason to be if he was honest.
After the heads up that Bucky had given him, that smile made him feel a little smug and proud of himself. It was also the first clue that he could actually fit well here, with this team, and not feel like he was on the outside of a glass wall. "Sounds like a good plan to me. But then, any plan involving food usually does, if I'm being honest," he chuckled.
"Yep, that's the one, and this one isn't as bad as the one I'm used to," he snickered, shaking his head at the memory. "Depends on what part you think was organized. Central location to train together or meet up? Yeah, that was organized. Actually working well on a regular basis together?" He pulled a face that said all that needed to be said on that subject. As they made their way downstairs, he grinned at the sight. "Now this is a secret base! I dig it!"
--
"We tried walking away from it. Didn't take." There were times, especially since they'd gotten here, that he second-guessed that decision, but this world seemed to need heroes even more than theirs did. Oliver couldn't sit by and watch his friends in the League fight it out and not be part of it. It was also the closest eye they could keep on getting back home, and he still hadn't completely lost hope for that.
"Noted." Oliver might be the furthest thing from a soft touch, but he cared about what mattered to his teammates. If Clint was motivated by food, they could work with that. He was more for takeout, but he liked cooking with Felicity. "Is it a lot different, where you're from?" He wasn't clear on whether it was the same Earth as Steve and Bucky's or just similar to it. The Avengers sounded more fractured than the Justice League, and that would definitely do it.
"It's a work in progress. Better gear at home." He shook his head, only mildly irritated by the differences at this point. "Gotham's got a lot of rogues. Too many to keep up with, if we're being honest. But we can go over some of the main ones we know are here, places you'd never want to walk into without backup. They've been keeping to themselves for the most part, and I don't usually bother them unless they're actively hurting people." He didn't care if Harley Quinn wanted to blow up a fucking Starbucks, as long as no one was inside.
--
A soft huff of understanding laughter escaped him and he nodded his head, "Oh I get it." On his own Earth, he'd never really had a reason to consider it, but here? He'd considered walking away from all of it, more than once. This was the first night going out into any city that he'd felt like maybe he wouldn't be entirely useless here.
"I'm easily swayed by pizza or greasy burgers, just ask my partner," he snickered lightly. Neither of them did much cooking, but when they did they made it count. The question made him hum softly to himself as he worked through all the weirdness of it in his head. "It's slightly less environmentally apocalyptic, but no less full of shit to deal with, which is really saying something. And the Avengers... well..."
"Makes sense. The best gear and setups come with more time than a lot of us have had here, which is weird." The differences didn't really bother him so much, which probably made no sense to most people. It's just how it was when you weren't overly attached to much. "Sounds good to me. I'd rather know where I won't walk out of if I'm alone and not careful."
--
Clint would be far from useless if this worked out. Oliver wasn't an optimistic sort of person, but he was cautiously hopeful about this. He'd gone from insisting on working alone to needing the backup badly, and he knew it would be a weight off his and Felicity's shoulders if he wasn't out there alone every night.
"You'll have to bring them down sometime. I'm sure Felicity would like to have you both over for dinner." She'd taken easily to the League and the Avengers they knew, and he had no doubt she'd take to the rest of them. At its best, Team Arrow was a family. It wasn't easy to forge those bonds, by any means, but it was worth it. If he was going to trust people at his back, he obviously wanted them around in their downtime too.
"Ours too." He nodded. The flooding had been a gut punch. Still was, in some ways. "Not yours?" He'd had his own issues with that, hence the reaching out to other teams. "There's Arkham Asylum and Blackgate Penitentiary. Self-explanatory. Iceberg Lounge is really the main one. It's a known haven for rogues. Anything with Wayne on it is probably safe enough. They're big philanthropists. Not sure Gotham would even be standing if it weren't for them."
--
There was something to be said for the comfort of having someone you trusted watching your back. He didn't often have that, but when he did, it was always something. There was something he liked about knowing he was protecting people who would protect him in turn. If this worked out, he could have that far more often.
He hummed at the offer and smiled, thinking about Rhodey in Gotham at all. He knew that he would come if he asked, made the offer. "I'll let him know. I'm sure he'd be happy to." That was the thing with Rhodey, he'd been nothing but supportive of him finding a place to fit. He'd support him through it.
He shrugged, "Some of them. But it's always been... complicated." That much was true with his time in any team of the Avengers he had been a part of. He reached up to fiddle with his aid, adjusting for the hum that always came with a space full of technology. "Alright, those make sense. So Gotham has it's like... daily villains?" The idea of it made him chuckle a little bit. "Yeah, I saw the Wayne name quite a bit on my way through."
--
"That's one word for it when you're a human fighting metas and aliens." He had a feeling a fellow archer could relate. It was a specific kind of pressure, trying to hold his own in the League alongside gods and other powered people. Oliver hadn't set out to save the whole world. It had been one thing, fighting white collar crime and ordinary criminals in Star City, but the threats only got bigger.
"Yeah, it's something." He shook his head. He got his share of weirdos in his city, but Gotham seemed to attract a specific brand. He leaned over the bank of monitors and pulled up some of the files on known rogues. He was no Felicity when it came to computers, but he knew his way around technology. It had saved his life more times than he could count. He gestured to the left side screens, where there were images of Catwoman, Harley, Penguin, among others. "These are some we know are in Gotham, but they've been pretty quiet, all things considered. The ones on the right are ones we're keeping an eye out for." Even Oliver knew it would be bad news if the Joker or the Riddler showed up.
--
He snorted lightly, "And Gods, don't forget those. Done all of the above." He fought alongside super soldiers, geniuses, gods, master spies (though technically he fell in that category himself). It had never been about saving the world, always about saving himself, until it hadn't been any more. Everything had grown from the moment aliens had become a part of the picture.
Leaning on the back of a chair, he let his eyes drift over the images that Oliver pulled up for him to see. Humming lightly in consideration, he shook his head slowly. "It's not usually a good thing when they're quiet for too long," he mused carefully. His eyes narrowed at the ones on the right, drifting over to look properly at them.
--
"Our token goddess is usually on our side, but never say never." The corner of his mouth twisted in a wry smile. Oliver didn't think he'd ever had cause to fight Diana. Her moral compass was far more reliable than his own, but if there was a daughter of Zeus out there, surely there were more gods and goddesses in the world. As long as they'd stayed out of Star City, he'd never cared that much.
"For some reason, they've been focusing most of their energy on Starbucks. I won't pretend to understand it, but saving corporations isn't really in my skillset." He shook his head. Oliver didn't give a shit if Harley Quinn wanted to blow one up, as long as no one got hurt. Starbucks could fight their own battles. "There's plenty of petty crime in Gotham to keep us busy though."

Hi friend,
Wow! It's been a while since my last planner review. I’ve been busy with a lot of things lately and I had to organize everything before our big move. This is the year I get to leave everything behind and start a new life with my husband, which means I have to quit my job, sell my car and stocks, then book a one-way ticket to another country. I’m so excited for this new chapter in my life.

Introduction
You can customize this page however you want. Just like with every planner, there is always a page to introduce yourself and write the purpose of this planner.
Content
This page serves as the Index or the Table of Contents for the whole planner. Some tabs redirect to the same page the side tabs have.
Inbox
Use the Inbox template to write your To-Do's, project ideas and random thoughts.
Overview
Use this page to categorize what you've written in your Inbox. This will help you to focus on what's more important and work your way through the list.
Calendar
This section has all the calendar-related templates such as Year At A Glance, Important Dates, Monthly, Weekly and Daily pages. This planner only has the Monday-start, although it'd be nice if there's also a Sunday-start so you won't have to customize the days of the week every now and then.
Calendar Content
This page shows tabs to different calendar-related templates
Year At A Glance
I have added the numbers and customize the font of the Months, then added some color codes for each category such as Work, Rest Day, Vacation, Busy Day. You can totally add your own codes, maybe track Anniversaries and Birthdays too!
Important Dates
I customized the font of the Months here to add some personality into it, then I drew a box for each month so it's easy for me to view each month, added stickers and texts. You can put important dates such as Anniversaries, Holidays, Birthdays, even appointments.
Monthly
I know it's April 2021 already, but here's what I've done for March 2021. Since it's Spring time, I decided to use this cute floral stickers, added the dates, thought of color codes, a long positive affirmation and ofcourse my planner entries for the month.
My Week
This has three different weekly templates. You can use it interchangeably, or stick to one per month by just duplicating the template you want.
Weekly Schedule
For this page, if you prefer to stick to a certain schedule then this is the perfect weekly template for you. Along with the My Week, you can also use this as your main weekly page. The highlights you see are color codes such as if you have one activity for a specific time everyday for example, lights off at 10pm everyday.
Day Planner
There are 2 different Day Planner templates, the left side has a timestamp schedule if you want to stick with your timely routine or if not, you can use the template on the right side which has the list layout.

Personal Content
This page shows tabs to different personal-related templates
Inspiration Board
There are 2 inspiration board templates - horizontal & vertical. I added some photos, quotes and a title or header. You can watch my IGTV on how I decorate my inspiration board!
Goals Overview
Track your goals per category in this page. As you can see in the image, I categorize all my project ideas or random thoughts per topic so it'll be much easier for me which one to prioritize.
Goals Progress
This page lets you track your progress per goal so you can stick to your deadline.
Goal Planner
There are 2 goal planner templates to choose from. If you want a straight-forward goal planner then you should use the template on the right side, but if you want to also track your 'emotional' aspect on how this goal affects you, then choose the template on the left side.
Habits and Routines
This page helps you to track your habits and routines by writing your target goal and the total of what you have done. For example, the Water Intake, my goal is to drink 8 glasses of water everyday for the whole month (atleast 25 days which is what I put in the Goal field). The other 4 or 5 days I can drink milk tea, wine, mojito or cocktails. Then, since I drank 8 glasses of water for 27 days, I put 27 on the Total field, which means I was able to meet my goal. If I completed my goal, I can mark the heart icon just beside Day 31.
Organize and Declutter
This page helps you track which things don't spark joy anymore.
Weekly Cleaning
Cleaning doesn’t always apply to tangible items, you can clean your cloud storage, your notion templates, your Procreate projects, your unused digital planners, or just try to clear your mind.
Cleaning Routine
Same with Weekly Cleaning's purpose, this page is for Daily, Weekly and Monthly cleaning schedule. If you can't think of things to clean, just refer to my image above for inspiration.
Life Aspirations List
This page is for your life aspirations - what you want to achieve or accomplish, whether it's for a short or long term goals. Once you achieved it, you can highlight it and move to the next goal in the list.
To Read

To Listen
I don't really plan what songs to listen to or write songs on my planner, I prefer to have a playlist on my fave music app. However, I think this page does not only talk about songs, you can also write your fave podcast, audio books, ted talks or whatever floats your boat. Right now, my fave song to listen to is Leave The Door Open by Bruno Mars, Anderson .Paak (Silk Sonic) which is a feel-good R&B and Soul music.

I giggle at your comment. “Ok… I won’t say no to you pampering me… you can cook me dinner next time ok?” I say as I gently peck your lips. I nod feeling jealous of any girls who ever touched you before me. I bite my lip as I listen to you. “Yeah I guess it’s hard to know who’s there for you and who’s there for your fame…” i say hating the thought of anyone taking advantage of you just because your famous. “You think so ? You think we really could make this something ?” I ask still planing with the hair at the back of your neck. “I think your probably the most amazing person I know… your kind .. and caring. You listen to me… I mean I think I’m just not used to it.” I smile a little at you. “Maybe once the divorce is finalised and I’m free… I was only thinking I mean we don’t have to but … I was thinking maybe we could go somewhere ? Just the two of us ? What do you think ? “ I ask raising a brow. “I mean I know your schedule is busy and you maybe you don’t have a lot of time but even just a weekend?” I was committed to this. To us. To making it work. - Amy rose anon 🌹

"Good." Jungkook smiled against your lips, his mind already racing excitedly, thinking that he should ask his friends for recipes. "Yeah... I mean, I love doing this work, so I've accepted this as a consequence... That's why meeting you is even more special." He listened to your idea, his face lighting up as you went on. "I think it's a fantastic idea. We definitely have to do it," he stressed, grinning at you. "I was already thinking of taking a longer break than usual after this album anyway. A proper break, with me actually taking a vacation instead of thinking and planning for the next release." He drew you closer to him, his hand sneaking to squeeze your thigh. "I was thinking of spending it staying in with you, but the two of us going on a trip is even better." He was really glad that you suggested it, he knew it meant you were getting ready to move forward with him.
