Basically, Neil calls Andrew “baby” in his sleep once, so Andrew gets flustered and then secretly tries out different pet names for Neil.
This one... honestly really surprised me with how popular it got. It’s my most kudos’d fic by a long shot (2,378 kudos??? insanity). It’s a short little thing, entirely focused around andreil and pet names. To be honest, I have mixed feelings about this one being the top fic, because it’s one of my oldest fics and I don’t really love the prose now. I don’t really understand why it got so popular out of everything I wrote bc it’s never anyone’s favorite fic when I ask, but I’m glad so many enjoyed it!
2. Sweet Enough To Eat (3.1k, andreil)
Andrew experiencing cute aggression. That’s basically the whole premise lol.
Anyway, this one is my oldest fic, so I assume that’s why it’s so popular. It’s cute, sweet even! I still like it to this day. Not much else to say about it though.
3. May We Meet Again (10.7k, andreil)
The first installment of the Artist Neil AU.
To be honest, I don’t like it anymore. That whole AU has problems with pacing, and some characterization issues too. Plus, looking back at the art now makes me cringe so hard. The only reason it’s still up is bc I know a lot of people really like it. Sometimes I think about revising the whole thing but I still remember how big of an undertaking it was when I first wrote it and made all the art for it, so I probably won’t.
4. The Marks We Make (41.3k, andreil)
A (mostly) canon rewrite from Andrew’s POV with a soulmate AU twist.
This the first multichapter fic I ever wrote, and one of the earliest fics I ever published, so I’m not surprised it’s high on the list. There are some things I like about this one, and some I would do differently. Writing this fic helped me make some of my first friends in the fandom though, so it was very much worth it.
5. Yes Or No? (35.5k, andreil)
sub andrew & Dom Neil pwp - need I say more?.
This one truly surprised me. It was meant to be a one-shot experiment, something I wrote as an exploration of my own boundaries and limits. BDSM fics are often triggering for me, so I generally avoid them, but I wanted to write a BDSM fic that I would be able to enjoy and to explore BDSM from a safe distance.
However, given how much the fandom seemed to be against Andrew submitting (and sometimes even just bottoming) at the time, I worried I might end up getting hate for writing it. To my surprise, I did not, and so many commenters asked that I continue it that I ended up turning it into a whole series.
I’m quite proud of it still - it might just be a smut fic to most people, but it will always be more than just a smut fic to me.
I do hate the last 3 paragraphs of the main fic though. I was on a kick where I thought incorporating references to fic titles and canon lines into my writing was clever and fun, but now I just cringe when I look at it. Ahh well, maybe someday I’ll change it and tell nobody. Create a little Berenstein/Berenstain Bears moment :)

1. More Than Words (32.9k, ongoing, neon friendship)
Neil and Aaron meet as kids and become best friends, long before Aaron learns his mother’s secret - he has a long lost twin brother.
I cannot gush enough about the love I have for this fic, this whole story. I can’t talk about it here because I have some insane twists planned (iykyk) but just know this fic is my baby and this story will be my magnum opus once it’s done. I love writing Neil and Aaron’s friendship, I love writing Aaron’s POV, I love the plans I have these boys. It’s still ongoing so I understand why it’s not higher up in the kudos ranking, but I’m hopeful that will change once I actually finish it.
2. A Quiet Self-Destruction (2.6k, andreil)
A character study on Andrew’s experience with depression, and how Neil helps him through his bad days.
I wrote this to comfort myself during one of my own depression spells. It still brings me a bit of hope on dark days. For that, I will always love it.
3. Scribbles and Sticky Notes (11.7k, andreil)
Neil retires from Exy, with heaps of fluff, soft Andreil, wholesome Twinyards, hurt/comfort, MCD and angst.
Hands down, this is the saddest fic I’ve ever written, and I’m quite proud of that fact. I think the pacing is really good, and the gut punches are quite successful (while being foreshadowed quite nicely). The characterization is also spot on, I think. It’s got MCD though, which I think is probably why it’s not more popular.
4. The Past, Stained Red (4.4k, andreil)
Part 3 of the Artist Neil AU. Andrew has a surprise run-in with a ghost from his past, and finally gets some closure.
This is the only fic of the Artist Neil AU that I actually still like. It’s well-paced, well-characterized, and I still like the art. Mostly, though, I viciously loved writing Andrew getting to close the door on Cass, and I loved writing him acknowledging the harm she did to him as a foster parent. He couldn’t see it as a child, but as an adult? He sees her clearly, in all her failure. It was extremely cathartic to write that.
5. Catdrew Meowyard (1.4k, andreil)
Andrew suddenly has cat ears and a tail. Nobody questions it. Shenanigans ensue.
This is such a silly little fic. I wrote it as a joke and I still love it dearly, even though it’s very dumb. It’s just very fun to write and to read, and it’s perfect for when I want to blow off steam and write some crack.

i just. really appreciate how you portray daddy jack.
i feel like a lot of people think hes flat-out horrible with relationships and treats his partner no differently from the baker’s dozen…
seeing you acknowledge his canon sociopathic traits and villainous ways while also being actually decent if someone catches his interest is really nice…
i mean. yes. i admit part of our relationship is me seeking out as much magic for him as i could. but i like to imagine he appreciates that im going about it on my own and that i stopped expecting payment in return very early on cuz of… how much i love him.
maybe its just me loving the concept of irredeemable monsters having a soft spot, combined with the fact i hate seeing stuff with my comfort characters treating self-inserts/ocs poorly… but yeah…

Well, I must say that I’m always trying(trrryyyyiiin) to stick to canon, but that doesn’t stop me from creating my many hcs based on my vision. And one of them is that Jack really has a soft spot, in fact I just feel so much softness in him no less than cruelty, that makes me think he’d give you such an interesting and various experience in relationships he-heh… It surely wouldn’t be the healthiest ones, but let’s leave them to reality lol I’m here to have fun with a fictional troublemaker <3
Tbh I think he can be caring and loving companion, he can be all nice and sweet to you but it’s better to keep in mind that he’s doing it mostly for his own profit/pleasure. I just cannot deny the main point of his character: he is a greedy egoist. A taker. You just have to accept it if you love him. That doesn’t exclude genuine care, though: I can easily imagine him emotionally attached to someone. But his sick obsession with magic stemming from his giant neurotic ego will prevail in the end. Sad but true. But hey, I think this is the point where we can learn how to value signs of affection from him more :> And enjoy by letting him just being himself bc we love him <3 as for the poor treatment I think you’re free to imagine what you prefer and follow your own vision, I don’t think it's such a necessary thing to experience pain of any kind from him. He’s not some maniac even with his sociopathy… He’s a troubled guy who needs help the most. I’m sure if not to irritate him or criticize or argue, he’d be ok, just love him, express your love as much as you can cuz love is about giving and enjoy^^(he’s such fluff material to me I swear lmao) I’m really really glad if my stuffs help you!♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Thank you (´｡• ᵕ •｡`) ♡

Hey, so sorry to bother you but I know you sometimes answer these kinds of asks and I’ve been feeling really sad recently bc I feel like I’m letting my teenage years pass me by. I’m sixteen and I’ve never been to a party (or even invited to one) or kissed anybody or held hands romantically or gone driving with my friends. I don’t go out on Friday nights and Ive never been to a football game (I’m usamerican btw so these are all big parts of high school experience) I mean I’m not even allowed to have Instagram…am I missing out or am I watching too many movies?

I totally know how you're feeling because I felt the same way at your age. But here's the thing- I've done all of those things, now, and I'm so glad I did them when I did...when I was ready.
Trust me, you'll have plenty of opportunities to do all of those things a million times, and you can try them all if you want! But remember two things:
None of those things are fun if they're with the wrong people or when you're not ready. Don't push yourself!
None of those things are fun if YOU don't want to do them. Trust me, movies make them seem cool, but I'm not a sports person, so I quickly learned that football games are boring irl- for me anyway! So don't push yourself to do something you don't think you'll enjoy, just because you think you're supposed to enjoy it.
Things will happen just like they're supposed to <3

This is so random….but I have distanced myself from the KP fandom and occasionally I’ve been checking on MA only …yesterday tho I was going through some of my saved clips on TikTok and I saw some of their old clips and I almost got emotional 🥲
The way that they were so awkward in the beginning..how at the mer mention of FS they cringed… sure they would say out of pocket stuff but still very tame compared to so many other CF who would literally kiss 😳 at fan meets and stuff …. But they would literally talk circles around the reporters who were asking weird couple questions… they would tell the fans how weird their FS requests were… they were so upfront about the whole ordeal that it makes me laugh at how ppl take what they do now as FS and I’m like … how is two people being so comfortable with each other that they are letting their guard down, is considered FS….like those two are so embarrassing sometimes bc it’s like dumb & dumber but like cute you know and it’s so refreshing to see. And you can see through old clips how embarrassed Apo would be when asked to “act” cute… but now you don’t even have to ask him he’s just so cute and it’s not an act he actually feels flustered and giggles so shyly and the urge to cuddle him and BBG him is there but like…it’s so natural you know….. like in this clip 👇🏽🥹🤏🏽

And all of this is a result of how comfortable he is around Mile and how he just naturally acts that way around him and it’s such a constant thing your able to see on the far and few bts clips that are shared of them that it’s just a MA dynamic and it’s bc they are at a point in their relationship that it’s just them being them. And you can see how they are not trying to “sell” us a cf bc they are not constantly attached at the hip and sharing pics of each other on the contrary….on the few occasions that they do share pics it’s either a single shot or a promotional pic for a event that they are going to have… and if we do find out that hey are together or hanging out it’s bc a fan meets them or later after months and months pass they will post something that betrays them. Other than that they will hold and keep those moments to themselves bc that’s how dear they hold them in their hearts 🤧 and with this I will leave some of my fave vids 🥹❤️

i get what u mean because as much as i appreciate all the jude scenario asks i get, it’s so overwhelming sometimes (especially smutty ones) because even though the scenarios are slightly different from one another, it all seems similar in some sort of way and sometimes i just feel like i’m writing repetitive stuff over and over again & it really starts feeling more like a task to respond 😭 i’ve got asks from like atleast 4 months ago that i still haven’t got around to respond to and it keeps accumulating so it gets very overwhelming, yes. but i’d say you don’t have to respond to all of them, especially since you don’t really owe anyone anything. i think it’d be a lot better to start a fresh because then you’d slowly find your rhythm back into enjoying responding to them, especially when there’s no pressure that you’ve got a lot to go through.
i’m so glad i’m not alone in how it feels. like u said it’s always so nice to know people wna talk to u abt all these things but then when u don’t answer for a few days or something they really start to build up. and when u get so many similar topics to discuss it just feels like churning out the same things over and over even when u try to make it different and it does sort of take away a lot of the fun of talking abt jude and makes it seem like a task. i think i’m going to try and get through a majority of the soft ones i’ve been sent but i’m kinda tired of replying to smut bc it honestly just feels repetitive (i’m still so so grateful to everyone that’s sent those things in tho but i think i need a break from them). want to say how much i adore reading through all ur scenarios tho!!! u always write perfection <3 and again i’m glad i’m not the only one who sometimes gets overwhelmed by the numbers

I watched the a:tla live action and because I used to be the Posting My Thoughts On Avatar blog, I'm gonna share the lil reviews I wrote after watching each episode. spoilers ahead!
1- aang:
ok so far it’s actually really good! The actors are amazing, especially aang and zuko, but like everyone actually. They are kids. And that’s like the most important thing. (i just hope they’re still kids by the end of the series lol). The visuals are BEAUTIFUL, the lighting and color grading is really good, the effects are great, the costumes are amazing- it’s all really faithful to the show. And it’s so exciting too bc i know it so i’m like so hyped every time something new that i recognize comes along. So overall i’m enjoying it. The main thing is it’s pretty tonally different, like bc it’s a limited series they’re focusing more on the war aspect of it all and cut a lot of the filler. Which makes sense i guess but like.. I do hope they let these kids be kids! Like please let aang goof off and show katara and sokka that it’s ok to take a break and have fun as well. I feel like that’s a really important aspect of his character so we shouldn’t cut all the filler. Please. We’ll see. (i had this exact problem with the pjo series too.. feel like i’m getting deja vu)
2- warriors:
Episode 2! Was really good! They took out sokka’s sexism which ppl were mad about but i honestly really liked what they did instead, how he connected to suki through them both being leaders of their villages. He still underestimated her and she still taught him to fight (he just wasn’t wearing makeup. tragic) and i LOVED every scene they had together! I was like kicking my feet it was so cute. Kyoshi came in and was so OP. I think it’s weird that they started going to the north because of some omen and not because aang needs to learn waterbending?? Like what’s the reason for that. so many of the decisions made here just seem to be trying to move the story along as fast as possible. But there are still good character moments and it’s enjoyable.
I love zuko. I already did so i am biased but his actor is amazing he really has that anger but also like, a clear softness beneath that. (my only problem is his scar isn’t quite as nasty as the animated version. Like from far away you can’t even really see it, i feel like it should be bigger.) I’m still not sure about iroh’s actor he’s pretty different from the animated version and i just feel like no one can live up to the original, but his character is similar to the one we know and love. azula and ozai made an appearance which is wayy sooner than in the og lol. but both of their actors seem great i’m excited to see more of them.
3- omashu:
ok we knocked out a few major s1 episodes, with jet and the mechanist from the northern air temple being featured. neither of them were from omashu originally but combining them here actually worked out ok. i loved danny pudi as the mechanist obviously. they weren’t living in the air temple though which took out a pretty big struggle for aang, where he had to come to terms with other people living on the air nomads’ land. but they can’t include every detail and like i said, having them in omashu worked just fine. idk how i feel about the jet plot, it seemed pretty similar to the original episode it just had less focus so it was like weirdly paced i felt like. most important thing was we saw cabbage guy!! even in live action his cabbages aren’t safe
4- into the dark:
why did they have bumi like, literally try to kill aang? in the show they revealed he was bumi at the very end and he was like haha it’s me your friend! i was testing your strength or whatever. here, they had him be mad at aang for not being there during the war! like oh my god?? in the original series, not everything was about the war. you even forgot it was happening at times. here, they don’t let you forget.
so glad they included secret tunnel. also oma and shu were lesbians we love to see it. but it was so strange that the badger moles like… responded to love? what?? that’s not a thing. in the original cave of two lovers episode i remember katara thought love would be the answer at first, but then was proven wrong and the crystals actually just guided them because it was dark. but in this one, she was right and sokka looked like an idiot for not believing her?? ok. i am kinda glad they took out the kataang stuff, i don’t think we need it this early on.
i liked zuko and iroh’s plot, especially the addition that the guy who captured iroh had a personal trauma from iroh’s ba sing se attack. this show has so much depth and nuance rather than just having good guys and bad guys and this was a great way of showing that.
5- spirited away:
idk what to think of this one. it was kind of an all over the place infodump. they clearly used this one as a way to put in a lot of stuff they weren’t gonna cover otherwise, like sokka’s trial thing. it didn't flow together very well. but i still enjoyed it i guess. we met a bunch of spirits that normally don’t show up until later like koh, wan shi tong, and the fox that i’m pretty sure was yue. interesting choices. ok and why the fuck did they have june flirt with iroh?? bc in the og series he makes comments towards her that are a bit gross. and instead of taking that out altogether, they reversed it?? what the fuck? that’s not better. i think my favorite part of this episode was gyatso telling aang it wasn’t his fault. he needed to hear that.
i’m starting to get pretty annoyed that aang hasn’t learned waterbending AT ALL? by this point he had been practicing with katara quite a bit! like we are way behind on the mastering elements thing when that was literally their top priority in the main series.
6-masks:
that was actually amazing. pretty spot on 1 to 1 of the blue spirit episode, at least the second half. except at the end aang and zuko talked a lot more, they’re really pushing zuko towards that redemption more than in the original. zuko’s backstory also had a lot added to it which i really liked. ozai’s characterization is so interesting, he has a little more depth (we’re just seeing more of him rly) but he ofc is still the worst human being ever in the world. but the actor who plays him is so good and we're really seeing why he makes the decisions he does. the agni kai was more drawn out which made it even worse, and we saw the actual moment of zuko’s banishment which was also extremely painful to watch! :D when he was crying in his bed ugh i couldn’t take it. and i love the detail that the soldiers he wanted to save were assigned to be his crew, which led them to respect him more once they heard his story. i loved that.
they really dumbed down commander zhao in this, i watched the original episode again and he was so much more threatening. idk why they gave that asswipe more comedic relief than aang. let aang be silly!! i’m also craving more appa in this show.
7- the north:
this was pretty much just an expanded version of the waterbending master episode. (although aang is STILL not learning waterbending?) the katara vs pakku fight was amazing and really accurate to the original scene, which was one of my favorite fight scenes so i’m glad for that. although they took out the whole thing with pakku noticing katara’s necklace but that’s fine tbh. but yeah she had her girl power moment! slay. yue is amazing and her and sokka’s interactions are so great! although i wish sokka and suki hadn’t actually kissed in episode 2, bc i feel like it took away from the importance of his and yue’s relationship! like she was his first kiss in the series and now she’s not. she’s not even necessarily his “first girlfriend.” so yeah weird choices all around. i also found it interesting that she dumped hahn and was not even betrothed to him. and he was way less of an asshole so it's not even clear why she did that. i guess trying to give her more agency? but like it doesn't make sense.
8- legends:
this one was good, again pretty accurate to the season 1 finale. the fight scenes were really drawn out to the point where it felt like they were just padding time lol, but aang’s avatar state fish suit thing looked really cool. i don’t remember if aang’s conflict here was in the original but i don’t think it was? where he’s like “i have to bear the burden of being the avatar alone” i remember him struggling with that in season 3 but not s1. idk how i feel about that. I love that katara got her moment and got to not only fight but be a leader! also momo like, sacrificed himself to save someone but it fell pretty flat bc if you're just watching this new series, you would barely care about momo. he's like not in this at all. zuko was the highlight once again. i just love him. i think that's all i have to say? again, pretty much the same story as the original.
TLDR i didnt hate this series, most of my problems with it just came from the fact that it's a live action remake and i hate those as a concept. as a fan of og avatar it was really enjoyable! I didn't like the shift in tone very much but I knew it was coming. (i'm probably gonna rewatch the og series as a palette cleanser lol). The cast and overall visuals were great and the story, although condensed, was fairly accurate. I'm excited to see how they do s2 but i'm not like super invested and my hopes are still not that high.

Aggghhhh I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS I LOVE HOW YOU WROTE THE LORE— anyways, how did zombies or skeletons come to be? Or have they just.. always been there? Do people always die and come back as an undead, or is through a kind of sickness? Where did the sickness come from? How do zombies hybrids like Cleo come to be anyways? So it was hinted at a few times, but Zombies and Skeletons were not always around. They've been around since at LEAST the First Ones (who were not, in fact, the first civilization in this world, but is the oldest one they can find evidence of/references to), but they are the results of a disease, basically- Zombies a biological disease, Skeletons a magic one. Thus why they're called the Infection and the Curse, respectively. They predate the Ancients and, though the characters in our story will never know this bc we're talking ~50k+ years, the Infection and the Curse were introduced with the fall of the very first society in this world- the First Ones' ancestors. Which was, of course, ended by the very first Warden to be... created. :)
Not everyone who dies comes back as an undead- only people who have the Infection or the Curse will come back- the Infection is spread through a Zombie's body juices (AKA if they bite or scratch you, you can get infected) and the Curse can be spread through, well, magical means. Luckily Skeletons can't spread it once they're completely skeletized, but people who end up Cursed can spread it while they're still flesh and blood, through general, common, daily magic interactions (such as.... name magic :) ).
Peecy ("player characters" gettit? Gettit? .... they're the humans who are not Testifica (villagers) or Illager) are less susceptible to Infection and Curse than Testifica but are not immune like the Illager are, but when they do get Infected or Cursed they have anywhere between hours and months until they start showing signs.... by the time of which they'll have probably spread it to multiple other people.
By the time Midnight takes place, it's mostly under control (again), with Zombies and Skeletons and other Mobs banished to the very outskirts of villages. The Infection, ofc, can be cured in a very small percentage of people..... but that's information that has been lost.
As for how Zombie and Skeleton Hybrids can happen- like Cleo! Cleo, specifically, is the result of an incomplete transformation. Scar doesn't know much about Cleo's past, but I'll go ahead and reveal since it won't really come up in much detail- but Cleo was also a Turned, who was super fucking loyal to her Sire while they were alive, because she was Infected as a Human. When they started showing signs and symptoms of being Infected, in a time when there wasn't much that could be done about it, their village/family turned them out into the wild outdoors to die far away where none of them would have to see or possibly fight her. They were found by their Sire partway through their decay, maybe days or weeks away from death, and oh MAN was Cleo angry and hurt, feeling betrayed and abandoned... but their Sire saw a fire in her eyes and knew, looking at her, that she would make an excellent Lord one day. So they Turned Cleo, resulting in our part-Zombie Vampire Lord we know and love today. Which, uh... considering what their magic is....... Mumbo and Grim aren't the only Turned Vampires with scarily strong magic :)
Other Zombie (and Skeleton!) Hybrids can end up being born/created in a few different ways- either they get Infected and start taking on attributes of the Mob, but abruptly.... stop dying, or one of their parents was Infected/Cursed when they were conceived or born. For example, if your parent is pregnant with you and gets Infected, there's a chance you'll be born already Infected (and with such attributes) and maybe even already somewhat zombie-d. And there's like a 50/50 chance that you just.... won't die/fully transform. Which is a terrible thought but ya know-

About having a hard time writing straight people: that's absolutely okay!! So many IFs seem to be catered to straight women that, as a queer person, it feels refreshing to read something blatantly queer. And I know it's common to write every RO as bi so anyone can date anyone, but I want to read a bi character that's bi because that's who they ARE, not because 'if I don't make them bi people will be angry at me bc some people won't be able to romance them', that's why I like when writers really ponder on their characters identity (not directed at you specifically Sana!😫 Definitely not criticizing, just angry at the world who won't let queer people be queer even in a game🥺). It's also quite rare to read stories where an RO is lesbian/gay, and it fills my heart when I see such representation🥰(not telling you u should 'make' one of the ROs lesbian/gay, if that's not who you feel they are, then that's not who they are! Just expanding on queer representation I love to see💕).
Also Markus being the straightest was a surprise! ksjskshskshsk I pictured him as the 'gayest' of the bunch, but my gaydar has never been good anyways ksjskshskshsk
Also also I actually like how you write Lucas, it kinda feels like he 'feels sorry' at the same time that 'he did nothing wrong' and that's so gaslighting!!!! Toxic in a subtle way indeed!
Haha no worries! These are characters I’ve had in my head for YEARS so I’ve thought a lot about them and who they are as people. As a queer person myself, I find that my identity is an important part of me (though not the most important, just important!) So I wanted to see myself reflected in these characters I love so much.
I went back and forth on making any ROs gay-only but I have an irl who likes to genderflip her MC but romance the girls, so I didn’t want my story to be frustrating to her lol

if i may be embarrassing for a minute here (beware: gushing about things and people that make me happy in my miserable life ahead)
the last 4 or so years of my life have been hell. and especially the last 1.5-2 years have been awful and i’ve never been in such a dark mental space. lots of sudden physical health problems (many of which are just sorta like “shrug idk just wait it out”) and a continuous downward spiral of my mental health (bc of the physical health stuff but also long-lasting financial issues, gender dysphoria, being stuck living with family which makes me wanna kms, etc.), all of which also makes it difficult or impossible to perform my regular hobbies (writing, drawing, video games, all of them are physically painful due to tendinitis) so my free time is always either unfulfilling or literally hurts me to do
and i’ve had lots of friends over the years who’ve made me laugh and smile, and I’m forever grateful to them and love them all dearly (to those of you who will see this bc you follow me here, hi, ily. to those who won’t see it bc they don’t follow me here, I’ll have to drop into those group chats and say a quick ily too)
but i’ve also begun interacting with a lot of new people in the last few months and I’m very grateful for y’all too. most of you are on here. probably all of you are on here. if you’re reading this, hi. what’s up. anyway
it just made me glad that i can still meet new people and get along well enough with them, even meet people i solidly call friends bc we started talking semi-regularly (hi sam!!! i hope you’re not drowning in your busy life lol). like, i have trouble making and hanging onto friends bc it’s just not my strong suit, and i like being by myself, but i do crave community just like any other human. and i haven’t had a community as active as this one ("this one" being my current corner of the st fandom) on this website in a while
i had to leave one community last year bc of one of my health issues that made it so i couldn’t interact with them very much, and just sitting there silently for months was too stressful for me, so when that went quiet i sort of… didn’t have a super active corner i was in, and it kind of made me super miserable
so i’m just glad I found this spot. a new spot for me to shimmy into on this website, where i’ve been jumping from community to community for the last decade. i feel like i haven’t been this into something and this into a community in a long time. and it feels good. really good
like even if there’s a lot about my life right now that i absolutely hate, there’s still a lot of things that i can be happy about. and a lot of love to find and share. so i may as well focus on that despite everything else. and i know this all sounds silly and embarrassing but i just have to remind myself that there are good things for me to look forward to, and good people to surround myself with, and i may as well put that thought out there on the off chance that someone who has made me smile recently might see it and know i appreciate them immensely. i can look forward to the future as much as i want, but at least i have folks right now who bring me joy, even if it’s small or sounds silly to say
so thank you to everyone who’s made me feel welcome. who’s given me presences to enjoy and people to admire. who’s been kind enough to interact with me and say nice things about the stuff I create. and really just to allow me to participate in a wacky fun corner that brings at least one smile to my face every day, but realistically, it's more than that

You had just gotten your hands on Hombres g new album. It wasn’t easy to get it since not many people listen to their music but you were glad that you found it.
Whenever you get a new album you always run to your room and listen to it at full blast. Having it on repeat until you finally memorize the lyrics. Not this time, no, you decided to drive to Eddie’s trailer
During your drive you had to stop yourself from getting a quick peek at the album songs. In order to stop yourself, you softly drummed your fingers on the steering wheel while trying to think of something else.
Aside from being together with Eddie for a while now, yet you never got the chance to share your favorite songs with him. Even though you also listen to rock music, you weren’t sure if he would be a big fan of Spanish rock music.
As soon as his trailer came to view, you parked your car carelessly. Grabbing the album you got out of the car and locked it. You took long strides towards his door, once you stood in front of it you lifted up your hand to knock.
You heard some footsteps approaching and as they gradually got closer, you were bouncing on your feet with excitement.
Once Eddie opened the door you squeezed your way through to get to his room. He was confused and cautiously walked behind you. As he did that, he kept on wondering if he did anything to get you mad. Since you didn’t even greet him, just stormed past him. At least that’s what he interpreted as.
“Is everything ok…” He asked as he finally reached his bedroom.
Instead of answering, you got the record out and inserted it on his record player.
Within a few seconds the music began to play causing Eddie to give you a questioning look. He still wasn’t sure what you were doing.
Stepping back you handed Eddie the album to show him what you were listening to.
Eddie grabbed it with a look of confusion he wasn’t sure how to pronounce the name that was written on the front.
You walked over to the edge of his bed and took a sit. You patted the space next to you so he could take a sit as well. He walked slowly towards you and sat down before looking up at you.
“What is this?” He asked. It wasn’t in a rude way but more of curiosity.
“It’s hombres g, duh. Have you never heard of them?” You asked.
“Mmm no, I’m afraid I’m not familiar with their work.” He answered truthfully.
You let out a gasp, you thought that maybe someone might’ve mentioned them before. Yet you were proven wrong. You got up and raise the volume, not too loud. Just loud enough for the both of you to hear.
As the music played you kept on moving your body to the rhythm. From the corner of your eye you could see how Eddie was bopping his head.
Once the album finished played you turned to face him with a bright smile
“So, what did you think?” You asked
“I think it was the most amazing thing I have ever heard. Drastic change from Iron Maiden and… you know my type of music.” He spoke slowly while flickering his gaze around his room to show you what he meant. “Could we, listen to it again?” He asked rather sheepishly.
You didn’t say anything just let out a squeal as you stood up to put the music once more. Once that was done, you went back to sitting next to him and you’re not sure how but you felt your body fill itself with more excitement as before.
When the song Te quiero started playing, you felt yourself getting familiarized to the song. You started off by mumbling the lyrics before gradually signing them loudly.
Even if you weren’t the best singer, Eddie would do anything just to hear you sing forever. In his eyes, there wasn’t anything that you could do wrong.
He let out a heartfelt laugh, you looked over at him with a smile while still singing. He mustered enough courage to try and sing along with you. At least the words that he learned from those years he had to repeat his Spanish class.
His pronunciation wasn’t the best but it brought you so much joy seeing that he was trying his best for you. Although he didn’t need to, he always made you happy no matter what.
That may be the reason why you singed the chorus a bit louder than the rest of the song. You’re not sure how much Eddie was able to understand but you could see in his eyes the affection they held whenever he sang the words ‘te quiero’.
When the album finished, once more, you and Eddie were now laying on his bed. Even if the only thing the two of you did was sing, it drained you both to a certain extent. Just as the two of you caught your breath, Eddie stood up and said:
“Hombres g… I might need to buy my own albums. Tell me, do you have more I could listen to?”

The relationship between this two is such a delight, I'm glad Aloy has someone by her side that cares for her and likes her for who she is. She is constantly running all the time, so I hope that she can find some good sleep every now and then. I hope we get more of them in hz3.

i think u might be tired of getting these asks abt the writing pace and how long the fics are and etc so sorry if im just adding to the pile but 😭 honestly i thought ur pacing and focusing on different aspects of characters and reader's life inside the world of CBMTHY beyond just the relationship w azriel was really interesting and refreshing 😭😭 maybe im just used to reading 100k+ word fics on ao3 but for what it's worth, my 2 cents is that the pacing was fine and even with chapters that weren't necessarily focused on azriel or eris or bas it was fun to explore the consciousness(?) of how reader thinks and interacts with other characters and living in the acotar universe 🤷♀️ especially the scenes with mor, i found them the most interesting because it seemed so realistic? the way reader acts around mor made soooo much sense (like, reader is severely insecure abt herself and clearly envies mor's beauty but she also enjoys her bubbly personality but she also doesn't really know how to act around mor bc they're not that close and there's prob also the azriel thing and skdjmfhshs so many nuances that play into their interaction. they're like 2 ppl in a friend group that hang out as a whole but are kinda awkward when left alone w each other and it's fun to see reader interact with a female character that's not her sister and isn't instantly best friends or enemies like in most other fics) and the convo they had abt the meat thing just makes "reader" as a character more complex and interesting? it almost makes me forget that it's technically a self insert fic which tbh i don't mind at all.
like.. there's a reason there's a whole genre dedicated to angst and slowburn. for me, the frustration and miscommunication of it all IS the fun part. bc that means whatever is to come that is the moment of reconciliation/resolution will be that much more satisfying 🤌🤌✨️
anyways yea, just wanted to say that personally i didn't mind ur writing style/pace/storyline choices and if anything for every chapter i finish i end up being more excited for the next <3

No absolutely not! Any and all feedback is always appreciated because I get to see different people’s opinions and thoughts? Also again I only get to see/read cbmthy from a writers perspective, so I know what’s going to happen, I know why there are certain details mentioned and why reader stays away from certain characters but still none of that has been touched on which can be confusing on the receiving end? What I’m saying is it’s helpful hearing your interpretations with things that I hadn’t even thought about because it helps me adjust things for the future :)

Those scenes were often quite difficult to write because I wanted to convey the awkwardness but then that would often stunt the conversation so it would come to a dead end, which then lead to a block so I’d have to rewrite and rework the scene so there was a clear hesitance on one side without it being boring? (I don’t know if that actually worked or if I succeeded in keeping it from being monotonous, but it was the aim at least 🫠)

I don’t usually read angst unless it’s by a writer I’m familiar with so I think that’s a slight deficiency on my part? Like back near the beginning of cbmthy someone mentioned enjoying the resolution and until that point I was pretty committed to making it end sadly without any reparations (which isn’t happening anymore, don’t worry🧡💛)
