i wonder, how hard is it to kill a Player?

in hardcore, you have one life. when you die it's permanent--but the Player can still choose to spectate. The Player can simply log onto a new world and start over. no matter how many times they perma die, the Player can just try again.

in the dream smp, you have three lives. but even when their three are up, Players still remain tethered to the world--stuck in limbo, or as ghosts. In some form, they persist. And sometimes they can get a second chance. does anyone truly die in the server where death can be reversed?

in third life, the last man standing killed himself to end the game, but the Players were all brought back for a second loop in last life. was their death ever truly permanent if they still remember their first game?

in hermitcraft, nobody permanently dies. they simply respawn--even when there's no place left to, apparently. even the apocalypse didn't stop the Players from appearing again in the next season, even the ones who surely didn't escape in time. The hermits can't be killed so easily.

is there a whisper of x-life in afterlife? what about third life in empires? evo in last life? last life in 100hrs? origins in dream smp? are you the same even when you're different?

i ask again, just how hard is it to truly kill a Player?

The juxtaposition of the actual Dream SMP storyline vs it’s medium is wild sometimes. It’s all war crimes and child soldiers and public executions. In minecraft. If this was in basically any other medium of storytelling it would be genuinely horrifying, can you imagine this shit on a live action tv show?? But it’s just..in minecraft. Block men committing their blocky war crimes

I literally fucking love everything about the world building of Carnival Row except for the actual plot of metaphorical and literal western colonisation. Like I get what a realistic mirrored portrayal it is of reality but for the love of God I would have loved for once to see what happened if the white man thought to instead explore and integrate with the culture instead of fucking colonising and killing it.

Like. I see that shit enough in reality man. And while I know there should be more of that shit talked about, Carnival Row had an amazing native fantasy setting that I loved and I would have loved to see for longer than just that one backstory episode. The graphics were amazing. CGI impeccable, cause that's exactly what CGI should be used as, the spice instead of the full meal as someone said.

Gah I want more integrating to foreign culture things than colonising plots. Delicious.

a) i guess it’s organized by Date Saved in my downloads folder coz now a subfolder i titled “goosebumps” is in the top row & when i see it i go =0 for a moment like it’s a new post or something, when it’s a [new post] in that i sure recently created it & it’s part of initial steps to creating a new post for sure, so the momentary excitement is warranted ig lmao

b) listened to a pertinent interview & can’t believe i didn’t realize tim jacobus guy who did virtually all the original goosebumps series cover illustrations Also did the album art like the actual r.l. stine cameo….like i just kept seeing it like oh nice =) vivid, so on brand, and then didn’t think about it further or you know, look it up lmao. very epic
