I love how the show makes Private smart and a competent fighter despite his squishy, naive personality. Some media these days is so bad with its characters being one-dimensional and boxed to a single personality trait, but tpom actually has really in-depth characters

don’t get me wrong I think the general interpretation of Leo being like “I put up a cocky front but deep down I don’t actually think I’m that great and that’s why I have something to prove” is good. It’s cool, plenty of drama/angst potential and probably what the creators were going for, I’m here for it.

But there is a distinct appeal to me of the slightly-to-the-left interpretation of Leo being like “it’s not a front, I know I’m that good/smart/skilled, but I also know I’m seen by others as just the goofball face man and that’s why I have something to prove.”

from really early on, like, a few episodes into s1, troy wanted to be friends with abed SO badly and that is so incredibly important to me?

in advanced criminal law (s1 ep 5), abed makes up an elaborate prank about being an alien from another planet to mess with and get closer to troy, and troy tells him "from now on, abed, friend's don't mess with each other. okay?" and troy proceeds to initiate their signature handshake

and we know from cooperative polygraphy (s5 ep 4), that troy watched a video showing how to do a handshake with your best friend. he wanted to be friends with abed SO early in the show, best friends even, and it physically hurts me that we don't see that more in the beginning ☹️

this is purely self projecting but it's so important to me that we see an allistic person be so interested in an autistic person, especially when we see it more from troy's perspective, because we get to see how MUCH he cares about abed. as an autistic person it's not something usually shown in media and it definitely isn't something i habe a lot of experience with, so it's nice to see an autistic person be autistic without it ever being mocked or ridiculed

I remember someone saying that Eddie wasn’t much of a hugger and I thought about what if Steve isn’t really one either? Like if I’m remembering correctly he’s never actually hugged anyone but he’s big on comfort though even if it’s mostly verbal not necessarily physical unless he’s dating the person. I like to think that when Steve and Eddie get together it’s a slow build up to physical touch and it takes awhile for them to realize that it’s actually their love language. When they get comfortable cuddling for the first time it feels like a huge weight has been lifted off their shoulders. Just them finding peace in each other’s arms is all I need and want 😭

drew it all in procreate with some default pencil brushes. then resized it to be smaller and went over the outline with a pixel brush. something like that...! my ass isnt a spriter though so i was just doing stuff as i went

this has probably been said before but the thing about jin ling flinching when jiang cheng raises his hand isn’t that Jiang Cheng Is Evil and jin ling has realized he Should Be Afraid Of Him, but that jin ling was literally just threatened, taken hostage, choked, etc. by someone he thought would never harm him. his other uncle who raised him !! of course his brain would sound the alarm at a sudden threat, it’s instinct. him immediately going back to poking and prodding and needling jiang cheng shows that he knows he has nothing to fear

have 2 ask… what’s ur rendering process??? because like idk if this makes sense but your work always looks like if someone drew with oil pastel colored pencils and i have NO IDEA how u do that shit 😭😭 sorry if this is like. a lot to ask i’ve always been so curious

i usually start out w a rough sketch and lay down base colors under it and when i’m ready merge the layers and start painting it and adding detail ! sometimes i even just paint over the sketch on one layer

i do this with most of my stuff becasue it makes it easier to bring together the lines and color in an interesting way and also easier to like. redo a face or something without having to go back and forth on each layer.

and for colors and shading i just experiment with colors and diff hues. go crazy use a bunch of varying hues and shades for shading and lighting instead of one chosen color. putting a slight hue change/jitter on ur brush also adds a lot to the piece. and when i render if it’s more stylized i just go in with fun shapes and scribbles and lines!!! sometimes a color choice looks really weird up close but really good once ur finished. just go crazy and experiment is my advice.

I've heard some people say that, since The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehos is free, it'll be a lot of people's first interaction with the franchise, and honestly, I couldn't be happier about it. Yeah, it may not have a lot of gameplay, but I feel like it's a perfect introduction to the characters, which I feel are the most important part if the whole franchise. More over, it makes a great job at showing how Sonic is more than a "silly anthropomorfic cartoon hedgehog", it knows how to be serious and emotional, and how to make a good story. Like, come one, this game is supposed to be about a silly little murder mystery and yet, the phrase "you can't force people to stay in your life forever, you might get lonely, but you've got to accept it and move on" has completely logical reason to appear and is executed greatly.

I'm fairly knew to Sonic The Hedgehog, but from what I've seen, TMOSTH perfectly shows what makes the Sonic franchise so wonderful.

In my mind, there's a platonic ideal of the traditional fairy tale retelling that takes the story seriously, follows the general outline of the fairy tale in a traditional fairy tale setting, and--most importantly--has well-rounded characters and a well-developed world that grounds us in the details of the setting. It often has romance in it, but the romance is part of the character's wider story instead of the focus.

every so often i look back at scrapped character designs from past soulcalibur games and i feel robbed of what we could have had

these are some of my favorites. the bottom left one is seidou nagumo and hes actually still canon in the old timeline even though his character was scrapped. i hope they bring him back in some way

i have always wanted to make art of these ones in particular, the top two especially since i can imagine it would be really fun to "complete" the designs. we will see, i might do it one day

i just. remembered again that i have a fembaru fic but also the premise is. Very Messed Up hah and also it was written before the canon genderbent au with its official genderbend names for everyone so its also outdated on top of that T^T i had like. Genderqueer subtext going on too. but i also wrote this fic like almost two years ago and havent touched it in forever so im unsure if i should go back to it…. o.o but i would love to finish it one day if only for my own satisfaction hah… i had a very detailed outline for ch 2 (its a twoshot) and several scenes written already anyway!! (and also i would probably update those names, make minor edits, etc etc hmm…)
