GPose Guide: Dark-skinned characters
Tumblr media
I got some questions about how to work with dark-skinned characters - and also heard some comments on how hard it is to gpose them. So here's a compilation of use cases, some techniques, and setups!
Posing in dark settings
This is where dark-skinned characters shine, pun intended. Point lights give a lot of flexibility, and character/environment lights are great tools to give volume and detach characters from the background.
In this example, 3-point sources are used to provide volume to the characters, without relying on character brightness at all. The Neneko Nikuman preset gives excellent brightness, contrast, and depth of field (DoF) options.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Posing in bright settings
Contrast is a powerful tool, and dark-skinned (and dark-clad) characters can use that to their great advantage.
Tumblr media
In the following example, a hard white light is positioned to create a strong rim light for volume, with a support gold source for tone and a light purple point to bring up the character's face. The Neneko Cocktail preset gives rich metal tones and excellent contrast.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The second example is about color. The same preset (Neneko Cocktail) is used, with ADOF+BOKEH and ADOF+BLUR enabled to give a dreamy quality to the background. Light sources emulate the sky.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Colorful/Pastel clothing/scenario
You may have heard that dark-skinned characters don't go well with certain colors, like pink or white. That is not true: Dark skin palettes have as much width as pale ones, just in a different range - and light sources can bring them up.
Tumblr media
The first example uses a very colorful background, with Neneko Lux driving the hue and brightness up. Instead of fighting it, we use the scenario colors to our advantage by projecting them around the character.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The second example is a portrait where we again use the scenario to provide hints about the light sources. Neneko Melonpan gives an excellent, smooth pastel treatment. Let's see the step-by-step from the original state to the final result.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first light is placed to emulate a cyan reflection from the water. The second emulates the bluish reflection from the sky, and The third is pretty near and creates a sunny rim light.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
With everything in place, we can enable the preset - and play around with DoF to decide how much we want to detach it from the scenario, taking away attention from the background and popping the character.
Tumblr media
 Posing together with fair-skinned characters
We can borrow some practices from real-life photography. The most important: position your light sources around the dark-skinned character. This will give you enough contrast to play with, and lessen the amount that reaches the other.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Composition (Extreme)
Compositions with lots of glow elements make it hard to pop the character features: since armor and weapons don't emit real light, everything needs to be compensated with the three-point lights, plus character and manual scene brightness.
Tumblr media
In this case, the character is positioned in such a way as to hide frontal reflections while still bringing his expression out a bit with well-defined rim lights.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Comment: The default in-game lighting leaves much to be desired
This is certainly true to an extent. The in-game settings are apparently tuned towards a common denominator between wildly different form factors (i.e. PC, Playstation 3-5), so a muted palette is used.
This results in ashen colors and small gradient differences between dark tones in certain situations; keep that in mind if you're looking for locations. Again, lighting can be used to remediate - but not eliminate - these limitations.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Final Thoughts
This isn't, by any means, a comprehensive guide. Dark-skinned characters come in a glorious amount of shades and tones, so I tried to keep it simple and discuss some basic aspects.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask! It'll help others that may stumble over this thread.

And thank you for your patience!

If you're allowed to say, what aspects of Venus aren't you allowed to use? I suppose I was under the assumption that The Next Mutation was mostly free game to be used in other TMNT products. Or does Saban still own a lot of its constituent parts? Considering Ninjara's latest appearance since the Adventures series (unless you count the infamous furlough issues) is about to be in a background in DLC for Shredder's Revenge It's kind of bonkers how many disparate parts of this long-running series are not owned by Nickelodeon at this point and just held onto by various companies.
I don't have a specific list handy but the two main things I was told "no" on are we can't use the full "Venus de Milo" name and we can't give her a braided mask/bandana. At one point I tried to make her more visually similar to the Next Mutation version and they had me pull back from it. I originally wanted to reveal her true name as Mei, a nod to her Next Mutation name, but that didn't fly either.
I don't know the exact ins and outs of the legal aspects, it's all pretty complex and a lot of it seems arbitrary and more "better safe than sorry" than explicitly legally-binding, but yeah I think Saban still owns Next Mutation to some extent if not in full. Even the Next Mutation DVD set that came out recently-ish doesn't have Nickelodeon or Viacom anywhere on it.
I remember in the early days of IDW we were told we couldn't use Ninjara, but then more recently turns out we CAN use her! Another example of how arbitrary and malleable this stuff is, Lita was originally supposed to be Venus, I designed her as Venus (hence her yin-yang tattoo and tessen/fan weapons) and she was even written as Venus at first (it was going to be that Jennika would be a big tennis fan and named Lita/Venus after tennis player Venus Williams) but then at the last minute I was told we couldn't use Venus, so I had to rename her and change her into a new character. Then later it seemed like we COULD use Venus after all so I started working on introducing her again, but then after we'd already released images and promos from issue #127 there was a brief scare where it looked like we actually didn't have clearance for Venus AGAIN! For a minute I thought I was going to have to rename/rework Venus again into a new character, I thought I was going to end up with TWO almost-Venus-until-the-last-minute characters, but then at the eleventh hour things worked out. WHEW.
It's also weird even for characters that Viacom does 100% own, like for example we tried to use Tatsu from the 1990 movie but we were told no (so we changed it to Natsu who ended up working out pretty well if I do say so myself) because of likeness issues. We're generally not able to use any character that was originally played by a real person in live-action form whose face can be seen, like Tatsu, Keno, Danny, Vam Mi, etc. It's especially weird because Tatsu was used in the 2012 show and he's clearly based on the actor, Toshishiro Obata, but I think there are probably some weird byzantine stipulations like 3D CG models are okay but drawn media is not. It's all very weird.
ANYWAY!

When it comes to the Shinjuku fight it kinda reminds me of how I felt reading Madara during the 4th Shinobi War Arc. Where it’s like “Well I’m not mad that Madara is strong, that he keeps getting stronger, I just wish the battle was better paced and that Madara was better set up.” same with Kaguya.
Also I’ve noticed that the reading comprehension in this community is straight ass. People seem to not really care about the narrative outside of the main main characters. People are willing to overlook flaws in the main characters writing but will be very loud and it flaws outside of them. Vice versa, people are fine with the rest of the narrative being sacrificed if it means an exciting moment featuring their favorite character (cough Gojo cough).
It’s behavior similar to what I see in idol or band communities, which boggles my mind because JJK is a story. And should be read and analyzed like a story, not an idol group or gacha game.
It does feel quite similar to the 4th Shinobi war although thankfully not quite as bad. I think we have way too many people running around to the point that they have to come up with dumb reasons for why Angel, Hana and Inumaki can't participate for example, but that's still way better than the thousands of fodder ninja Kishimoto expected us to care about, while making it clear that only a handful of people could handle Madara, Kabuto and Kaguya anyway. Not to mention killing who was very clearly supposed to be the main villain only to introduce a completely new villain, who hasn't even been so much as mentioned up to that point and needed a total reboot of the world building to make sense. Everyone knows the thing that this series about ninjas desperately needed was aliens...
JJK also has the advantage that while Sukuna is insanely strong and the protagonists only slowly chip away at him, overpowering him isn't the goal here. So it isn't like with Naruto, where the main characters have to unlock some new type of cursed energy to beat him or whatever, it is much more an ideologically driven battle, where what really counts is undermining Sukuna's philosophy, which you can do best by not buying into the obsession with strength. The problem is just that Gege is getting a little too caught up in throwing around techniques than tackling what really matters. Kind of similar to the Gojo vs Sukuna fight, although not as bad yet. Having Yuuji involved has definitely improved things. Still, I think you can again feel that Gege is struggling with writing an overpowered character and finding the balance between showing his strength and focusing on the thematic aspects of the story like they manage to do in pretty much every other fight. Again, the foundation is there, but the formulaic structure of the Shinjuku fight is not really helping. Plus you have some unnecessary intermissions like Yorozu dying to give Sukuna a weapon that does nothing and only serves as a get-out-of-jail-free card (seriously what was the point of all that, it had literally 0 zero consequences and only robbed us of a chance at seeing Sukuna in a scenario where he can't rely on his strength).
Agree that there has been unfortunately very little good analysis on these chapters. I don't know how it looks on reddit, but it's getting quite hard to find some good meta on tumblr and twitter on this fight. A lot of commentary I see boils down to either "why can't Sukuna just die already??" and "Gojo has to come back to fix everything, here's a 38 page essay on all the foreshadowing of his return that will happen any day now". I can understand the first point, these people mostly just seem fatigued by the structure of this fight (new character pops up, gets killed/gravely injured by Sukuna, someone else takes their place) and they just want it to be over. The problem is just that killing Sukuna here would for one not make sense for his power level because while it is true that the protagonists have thrown a lot of force at him and tried different strategies, he's clearly not been trying very hard ever since Gojo died (which frustrates me a lot). That has to change first. And also if he died now that would make for a very unsatisfying, premature end of this story. Nothing would be gained with that, no character arc properly resolved. It would hurt especially Sukuna's character because it would mean he really was just a strong big bad with not much motivation besides wanting death and destruction for its own sake, who had to be killed to avoid further danger and go back to status quo. Far too easy and all the setup for Sukuna being a more nuanced character gets cut off. Like I set before, it would be worse than Kenjaku's death, since that at least had meaning and found some kind of end for Kenjaku's character arc. Kenjaku changed, while Sukuna has very firmly been the same this whole time with only a very brief moment of reflection on what he is even doing here. So yeah, more needs to happen before Sukuna can die and first of all he needs to take Yuuji seriously already and be pushed to his limits, challenged. That would vastly improve the tension of the fight as well.
And Gojo coming back is just...I understand wanting your favourite character back, but even if for some reason he was revived, he shouldn't help in the fight. Him overpowering Sukuna would mean exactly nothing, contradict the whole message of the story and also means the characters regress to letting Gojo solve everything again and direct their decisions after what he wants. That's why it was so important for Gojo to die or get depowered, so the other characters could progress and make real change in the world. He was a necessary stepping stone they had to overcome. He can't defeat Sukuna because he is essentially Sukuna, but in a different, slightly more humane font.
And as for your last point, I don't think it's bad to have a character you really like, are even obsessed with, that's why we have another popularity poll coming up after all. Engaging characters are very important, it's just a problem if people warp the story in their head to revolve around this character and then get seriously upset when the story doesn't follow their headcanon and blame the author for that. I like headcanons, I like writing fanfiction, but you have to differentiate that from what is actually happening in canon and accept that canon plays by different rules. Liking your fanfics more than the actual story is fine too, you just can't mesh these two together and lose sight of what is actually happening in the manga. As long as the story follows its own premises and rules/events it has set up, it is perfectly fine. There is legitimate criticism to make about jjk, I do it plenty, but things like wanting Sukuna dead and Gojo alive and getting mad at Gege for it not happening the way they want are just not it.

Aislynn and the Long Rambly Rambles about Video Games and Finishing My Halo WIPs and Potential Future Halo Fic Ideas and I Dunno Maybe I Should Finish My Last Two Flash WIPs 'Cause That Would Be Super Rad, Too, Right?™️
Tumblr media
Finished! I had a lot of fun with Portal! I did finally manage to compensate for the weird "look to the side and look all the way up or down" problem I was having, thankfully. The puzzle aspect was awesome!
Now, since I'm here for a good time, not to be an amazing gamer, I'mma be straight with you: I looked up the answer whenever I got stuck. I tried all of the puzzles "cold" first and kept trying even when I had no idea what to do. Then, when I reached that first hint of ~~frustration~~, I just looked up the answer. Most of the time, I still had to work to get through it, so it wasn't a gimme. But I don't even care if it does. Like I said, I'm here for a good time, full stop. After really thinking I was never going to get to play any other games in my Steam library because of all of Georgette's serious computer issues, I'm just super happy to be playing again!
I may play the second Portal next, might just go for something else entirely.
I still want to finish Scott/Peebee and Scott/Jaal in Mass Effect: Andromeda but while I can't make any further GIFs, I'm not in a big hurry to do that next. I can still capture the footage, though, so might just have to do that and then hope Georgette will let me install Vegas. 🤞😣🤞
I also have Half-Life and Half-Life 2 and I believe they're connected to Portal in some way? Also have heard they're good games, so they're definitely on my to-play list.
Also there is, in no particular order:
Mass Effect Legendary Edition (got to finally experience the OT, after all!)
Dragon Age: Inquisition (I'm thinking this might slightly scratch my itch to play Baldur's Gate 3, since I'm waiting on that to go on sale)
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (been looking forward to this one for a long time!)
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (another one I've been looking forward to for a while)
Tomb Raider (2013) (DEFINITELY been looking forward to this for ages and ages!)
Titanfall2 (have heard a lot of good things about this one; have also heard it's not too terribly long, which I'm looking for right now, I've got things like ME to play if I want something really long and involved but I'm honestly also looking for a few things that are less of a large time commitment to intersperse with the epic-sized games 😉)
Dead Rising 1, 2 and Off the Record (There are a few things about them I hope won't make me feel stressed out, I don't always do good with things that have time limits, but mannnn, I really want to try out all of the funny weapons and such that you can craft! So the plan is to not worry about "winning" just get in there and have fun!)
I've also got the Resident Evil Village demo but am kinda bummed that it's on a 30 minute time limit. So, like, if it takes me forever to get the hang of the controls, I might not get to see 5 minutes of gameplay. That'll suck. 😠It seems like it would've been better for the demo just to be a level or part of a level and if it takes you an hour to play it, what does it matter? You're still just playing that one little chunk they set aside for you to test out. Oh well, I'll give it a try out of these days.
The Resident Evil 4 remake demo isn't time-locked and you can replay it as much as you want, so I'm thinking about giving that a try. I dunno. I've watched a LOT of playthroughs in this franchise and I'd like to try them myself but I also know I can get skeeved out by body horror and sometimes survival horror in general just stresses me out. So, don't plan on picking up the full game of either of these until I get a chance to try out their demos at least. And I want them to be on a great sale in case I try the full game and then find myself going
Tumblr media
Anyway, if you play games, what are you into these days?
Halo MCC will always be my comfort place, needless to say! Does anybody here do the weekly challenges? I love doing them! Just need 100 more points and I can buy everything on the final level/season/whatever they call it. I love getting new nameplates, lol!
Anyway, I did also do some writing today towards Camp NaNo and made my ridiculously low daily word par. I'm hoping to actually get all of the rest of "Recreation" and "15 Minutes" done in first draft form this month. That would be rad to just have to do final editing and get them posted in May! I'm going to miss them when they're done but I want to make sure that I get their story told, you know?
If I should achieve that goal, then I have a fluffy Vannak x Reader one-shot I'd like to finish. Then I realized if I do that, I'll have given everybody in Silver Team a Reader character except Riz. Can't have that, now can I? Riz is also MAH BB!

So, here is my full review of FF16 (spoilers ahead)
So here is my review of FF16 after finishing the game one time (haven't tried the New Game+)
SPOILERS AHEAD FOR NOT ONLY FF16, BUT FF13, FF15, TACTICS AND BRAVELY DEFAULT, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
Overall, FF16 is a good game and a good Final Fantasy, I LOVED the characters! One thing that I think Final Fantasy has been getting better and better each new title is creating characters. FF15 (despite it's numerous flaws) already did a great job putting personality on the main characters. FF16 pushed it further adding more personality to secondary characters and even NPCS that barely appear for more than a few minutes (also praise to the voice acting, it was amazing!). I wish crafting system was more complex, it felt a bit too simple sometimes, to the point I was like "well, I dunno why we have a crafting system, they should have just given me the weapon as quest prize or just leave it for me to buy from some merchant at this point"
If I could say one word to represent FF16, I would say the word is EPIC. Not because the game is perfect. But during our journey with Clive you FEEL how grand is the scale of each eikonic battle. And I personally believe the change to full action played an important role on giving us that scale. Yes, in turn-based FFs we already had big bosses that were clearly bigger than us, but it feels different (mind you, I've played a lot of turn-based RPGs), maybe because turn-based battles usually have the boss keeping its distance from our party most of the time. The cinematic parts with the Active Time Events also helped creating that feel (though I think in some parts I wish there were more actual gameplay and less ATE press button screen moments). That being said, here are my thoughts on several elements of the game (I will not comment on battle mechanics cuz I haven't played many action rpgs to have a solid opinion on whether battle is good or not, I just know I had fun). Music
Music is EPIC, the battle songs were AMAZING. However, while I think the references to FF14's OST were on purpose I do think it did disappoint me a bit that it referenced too much. Several tracks obviously have parts of FF14's Eureka's theme (which is a good theme).
Art / Design
Overall I like the art in this game, they took their time to even give some minor NPCs one detail or another that sets them as unique. My favorite part is the Eikons' design, all of them are gorgeous. I wish some maps had a bit of visual variation (Waloed was my least favorite, while Sambreque is probably my favorite on that aspect). Also, bless Clive's character design.
Edit: May I also add it's a bit of a let down that some maps become rather dull colored after Ultima casts their weird spell that causes aetherical floods everywhere. It reminded me of how The First in FF14 was constantly bathed in light, except in FF16 all open world maps are flooded by a weird purple dim light.
Protagonist
Clive is probably the best FF protagonist I've seen so far because everyone thought he was going to be an edgy character after revenge for whatever happened in his past. He kinda starts that way but we instead got... well, a big puppy (ok, two big puppies cuz we have Torgal). Clive faces his traumas through game and remains a man with a golden heart that just can't say no to helping people. Antagonist
Here is where I think FF16 may have failed, compared to other FF titles like FF7 and FF15. The actual villain is Ultima, and I think they did a great job setting Ultima as an alien that does not understand humans. But I think we were meant to see Barnabas as the antagonist that we would grow to love/hate, with him being introduced right from the start with Cid's and Benedikta's introductions. When Barnabas actually appears in front of Clive and we start the chapters that will lead to our fight with him I just felt... meh. Even his eikonic fight was rather disappointing for me after Bahamut's fight. I believe Barnabas was meant to be something like Sephiroth, or Ardyn, while Ultima is more like Jenova and FF15's Bahamut, but I don't think they managed to do that with Barnabas.
Other characters
As I said, I think they did a great job giving personalities to every character we meet in this game. However I think they missed the opportunity to give more lore development to some key characters such as Benedikta and, again, Barnabas. It's not terrible like FF15, where the base game had actual gaps that didn't make much sense, like Ignis' loss of eyeysight and Gladio going poof! suddenly, but some characters would really benefit if they get a DLC to expand their lore. I have to praise FF16 team for how they dealt with Dion and Joshua though, I think they are my favorite in terms of characterization.
Story
The story overall is really good. Harsh and raw, but good. Unfortunately if you don't do the sidequest as they appear you miss A LOT OF lore. One criticism that I've read a lot is that after the second half of the game the story stops dealing with the theme of slavery and prejudice against minorities. And thinking about it, if I haven't done the sidequest as they appear the main quests alone really don't deal with that theme anymore after a while. The sidequests though, they do. A lot and in certain quests it is brutal and a bit too close to real world, leaving you with some bitter taste.
That being said, because the game relies on many side quests to expand the lore I think the game has an issue with pacing and setting emotional rollercoasters. Again, after Bahamut's fight I think Barnaba's story was a collection of rushed events and Waloed is so empty that before you blink you are already at Barnaba's eikonic fight. You do get to actually explore Waloed via sidequests after that fight but the pacing is already broken by then.
Also, if you take the sidequests off, the game itself is rather linear (as it was meant to be, I believe) and doesn't give you much incentive to explore the world. Once you finish sidequests and hunts there aren't many achievements that makes you want to run around the maps over and over again. Plot and theme similarities with other games The game draws some parallels to FF15's story (both protagonists lose their home, both are sort of princes that have a love interest that are nobility from another country and both sacrifice themselves to save humanity in the end), but I think FF16 managed to at least deal with the romance better than FF15, since Jill fights with us since early game and while yes she is rescued by Clive several times Jill is no damsel in distress and she also saves Clive at least twice on critical moments (and Clive is saved by Joshua several times too). Jill is Clive's love interest but also his partner in his journey. Something I think Lunafreya was meant to be if she had her DLC. Yet, Luna and Noctis' story barely stand with what we actually got from Square Enix.
I can also point out some similarities between FF16 and FF13 with the theme of prejudice. Bearers suffer prejudice much like the l'Cie from Fabula Nova Crystallis, though while l'Cie are probably viewed as cursed individuals to be avoided, Bearers are viewed as slaves in FF16. The destruction of Crystals, while new to a main Final Fantasy, I believe, is not a new concept for Square Enix. Bravely Default already played with the subversion of the usually canonical belief of crystals being a blessing and in both games the protagonists learn that Crystals may not be a blessing at all. FF16, more than FF15 though, has a more direct influence of Final Fantasy Tactics' plot (and not only because both are set in a medieval setting and have an Ultima trying to destroy the world and claim it to themselves). Both Ramza and Clive are outcasts (Ramza as heretic, Clive as outlaw) that fight according to their beliefs, even if that sets them against those in power and subvert the state of things. Both have people that can turn into monsters (Lucavi and Eikon) and such ability has connections with a bigger plan set in place years before the protagonist was even born by some entity that manipulates humans to reach their goal. Both games are also not afraid to deal with politics in a more direct way.

Dark Parables
Introduction:
Dark Parables is a series of casual games created by Blue Tea Studios, and later taken over by Eipix Games. The series is still ongoing; the first game, Curse of Briar Rose came out in 2010, and at the time of writing, the latest game, Portrait of the Stained Princess came out in 2019. There are 16 games in the mainline series, and 2 spinoff games.
The series is set in a fictional, fairytale world, where well known fairy tales are given a darker, twisty spin as the title suggests. The games are connected, with various characters and plot points running through the series, though each game is a standalone, individual mystery.
Gameplay:
As the title suggests, these are casual games, meaning most of the gameplay is delivered through two things: point and click (PoP) and hidden object puzzles (HOP). Though the games are by no means RPG, you do play  a character, the Fairytale Detective. The Detective is a silent protagonist, well known in the game world. The characters refer to the Detective’s more ‘well known’ cases, and express relief and happiness when you arrive to solve whatever mystery you’re called to solve. Though originally genderless, in the later games the Detective is canonically revealed as a woman, so I will be referring to her by she/her pronouns.
The cases vary depending on the game, but they include rescuing kidnapped children, breaking curses, solving murders and even toppling entire cities from the sky. Each game starts with a briefing from your boss, who gives you the conceit of the case and you take over from there.
In the beginning, HOPs were the main puzzle of the series, but as it progressed, it relied significantly less on them, and more on other types of puzzles. However, the HOPs themselves are different from other games in this genre, as you aren’t looking for specific objects in a set piece, most of which won’t be useful, but rather to find pieces of an object and put it together. Sometimes it’s an artifact, sometimes it’s a weapon, and sometimes just a stylized version of everyday appliances.
This was personally what drew me to the series; I really like that you complete an object instead of tracking down 30 random things your character will never need. It makes the HOP a lot more relevant to the character and lets the designers make the HOP puzzles as organic sections of the environment itself, instead of non-diegetic interruptions.
The other puzzles in the game vary, but they are all activated by the Detective opening locks, chests, completing murals, windows and similar environments. Like the HOP they are usually organically tied into the location you are exploring, and oftentimes they explain things in the story, like backgrounds on key characters or events. As an example, you will often encounter some kind of interactable painting or collage that will tell a story, and by solving it, the Detective will learn a key aspect of the case that lets you progress.
Each game has 3 modes of play: easy, normal and hard. On easy, the hint button recharges quickly, there is no penalty for clicking on the wrong object in a HOP, and you can skip puzzles quickly. On normal, the time for skipping and hint recharging is longer, and there are penalties for randomly clicking around the HOP screen. On hard, there are no hints, you can’t skip puzzles and the penalty kicks in after 3 wrong tries.
The first 3 games only let you unlock hard after playing through the game once on easy or normal, and also have a bonus for the hardmode. The bonus is usually an object the detective starts the game with which unlocks a separate room that has something interesting, like a hint to the bonus story or the next game in the series. From The Red Riding Hood Sisters on, the series discards the hardmode bonus and the hidden rooms.
All of the games have additional puzzle and collector pieces. The first one is the Cursed Objects: objects in the gameworld that shapeshift into something else. Finding each helps replenish your hint bar, and collecting all 20 gives the player an achievement and sometimes a reward.
Achievements are something that was introduced in the spinoff game Cursery: The Crooked Man and the Crooked Cat, and are a collectors award; you can get achievements for anything from solving a HOP without hints, to solving a HOP with no wrong clicks, to finding 5 objects in 5 seconds, and so on.
The third game, Rise of the Snow Queen introduced Parables. Parables are items you can find in the game world which you can collect. When you collect a certain amount you unlock a story, which is usually a retelling of the fairytale or an aspect of the fairytale from the main game. They explain the backstory and lore, and are fun to collect.
The final Blue Tea Game, The Ballad of Rapunzel introduces Flowerstones, which like Parables are collectable items you can find in the game world. Collecting 20 can net the player an item which unlocks a different ending not accessible in the main game.
Standard vs. Collector’s Editions:
All of the games in the series have a Standard and a Collectors edition. The Standard Edition contains the base game and only that; the Collector’s Edition contains the base game, a bonus game, bonus materials and a strategy guide. It’s also more expensive.
Now, I personally think that the Standard Edition isn’t the complete game, and don’t ever recommend getting it. The base game by itself is just not nearly as entertaining or good without the bonus game and materials. Yes, you still get a complete game, and you can still unlock all the Parables and achievements, but you are missing out on the extras and the bonus game which are usually great.
The bonus games vary; in the first 2 games, Curse of Briar Rose and The Exiled Prince, the bonus games are just a separate bonus level in the game; in the case of CoBR it’s literally just a room, with 2 appendages. But from Rise of the Snow Queen on, the bonus games are entirely new stories, where you play as a character other than the Detective, and you learn something new; it could be the backstory of a character, an enchanted object, what happened to a place or just an additional adventure after the main one is over.
The bonus materials are usually the same: there is concept art, wallpapers, a movie gallery where you can rewatch all the cutscenes, and download the music and wallpaper files.
The strategy guide is basically just a walkthrough. It contains all the solutions to all the puzzles, along with screenshots, as well as all the locations of all the Cursed Objects, Parables and Flowerstones. It’s not necessary, but it is useful if you are a completionist, or you are playing on hardmode and you get stuck on a particular puzzle.
Art Direction:
This series is most well known for its gorgeous art style and direction. It is simply stunning; all the locations are beautifully crafted, there is an incredible amount of detail put into each scene, the animation in some of the games is amazing considering these are casual games, and I love the designs of the characters and the costumes.
Each HOP is a joy to solve because the games are so beautiful, and some shots are downright stunning. The only issue is sometimes the voice acting which is uneven.
Story:
There isn’t exactly an overarching story in all the games; more like common elements. For example, characters you meet in earlier games come back later and you can see what’s happened to them in the meantime. They also comment on stories or react to events, so you do get a sense that all these cases are happening in the same universe. The way I would describe it, is that the games share a world, while the individual standalone adventures are their unique, contained stories.
Blue Tea:
The Curse of Briar Rose
The Exiled Prince
Rise of the Snow Queen
The Red Riding Hood Sisters
The Final Cinderella
Jack and the Sky Kingdom
Ballad of Rapunzel
Spin-off Games:
Fabled Legends: The Pied Piper
Cursery: The Crooked Man & the Crooked Cat
Eipix Studio:
Little Mermaid and the Purple Tide
Queen of Sands
Goldilocks and the Fallen Star
Swan Lake and the Dire Tree
The Thief and the Tinderbox
Requiem for the Forgotten Shadow
Blue Tea (the Return):
Return of the Salt Princess
The Match Girl's Lost Paradise

A Zelda RPG
I think I mentioned this briefly in my reflection on TotK, but after being able to have the sages travel and fight with you in the game (and then their avatars later) to the point of having five characters fighting alongside you at once, I’ve suddenly gained the intense craving for a party-oriented turn-based or tactical RPG of Zelda.
And I don’t think it’s such a weird or far-out idea either because mainstream Nintendo franchises have branched out into other genres, including RPGs. Just look at Mario RPG, Paper Mario, and Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga.
I would absolutely dive into a turn-based RPG with Link and any number of staple characters from the franchise in any number of Zelda game settings (i.e. Ocarina of Time’s, Twilight Princess’s, Hyrule, or BotW/TotK’s). Hell, maybe we can have a sort of untold side story based on something we didn’t see in these games, such as TotK’s Imprisoning War where we only saw how it started and ended.
Imagine gearing up and altering characters’ classes against their typically expected roles. Maybe Link starts out as some sort of swordsman class, but you can eventually outfit him with Din’s Fire or any of the magical rods to give him spells to qualify him for a spellsword class. Give Zelda a special melee weapon so she can tear up the battlefield as a warrior/sage hybrid. I can think of tons of possibilities.
Then you can add in great battle interactions, like damage types for varying effectiveness and secondary effects, weapons with special properties, tools like the hookshot to stun or move enemies around, combination attacks, and, if we’re going the tactical RPG route, terrains with hazards such as malice/gloom. Not to mention that the plethora of enemies that Zelda has to draw from, big and small, could radically change how battles work from encounter to encounter.
And game overworlds can easily reflect the game’s setting, with towns and landmarks recognizable from whatever world its based on, dungeons that act as their own zones when you enter them with potential for classic Zelda puzzles that you have a different view on compared to the usual behind Link’s back perspective. I can already picture Golden Sun-esque gameplay between battle encounters. Zelda could fit that mould very smoothly.
And, naturally, most RPGs lend themselves toward great stories and deep characters, so we can dive even deeper on the personal struggles of characters in this universe. Just off the top of my head, we could have a Gerudo scholar who’s struggling to prove her theory on some aspect of the Seven Heroines legend, a Zora who’s intensely afraid of ice due to Zora’s domain being frozen over once, a Goron who doesn’t want to follow through on his family tradition of enter the mining business, or a Rito whose wings didn’t grow in correctly and wants to prove themselves an equal to their brethren. Oh, and I want Link and Zelda fighting alongside one another in the same party. No, I will not accept her falling into another pit, being flung back in time, or being kidnapped by Ganon on the onset. I want her as a party member from start to finish!
Speaking of Ganondorf, he already has the qualifications for a major RPG villain. He’s immensely powerful, manipulative, charismatic, and can easily cause problems all over the map for any number of party members, giving all people involved in your party motivations for wanting to join and stop him.
And RPGs still leave room for all the side-quest-y goodness Zelda is known for, especially if your party members have their own aspirations and motivations aside from defeating Ganon. There’s no shortage of content in the Zelda mythos that could fill in countless hours in a Zelda RPG.
As well, this would be a chance for whoever develops this Zelda property to take some liberties in style. Since it wouldn’t be rooted as a mainstream Zelda title, developers could experiment with its look in the same way they tried cel-shading with Wind Waker or the Link’s Awakening remake diorama style. Hell, maybe we could go retro in the same way as Octopath Traveler and have a modern take on the Link to the Past style?
Nintendo, you have a lot of potential in your hands with the Zelda franchise. Maybe consider this as a potential side project? Nintendo has been getting better about lending their IP to other companies. I don’t see why they couldn’t give this a shot while their main group at headquarters works on the next title in the main series. Not that they’ll ever see this post, but I had to get this idea out of my head, regardless.
Also, let’s leave the collectible Koroks out of this one. I’m down for having a cool potion-making Korok party member in the vein of that one from Wind Waker, though.

Splatoon... 3!
I can't believe we're at the 3rd one already.
New stages, new weapons, new gear, new idols, new music, a new world, new story, and revamped gameplay. New new new. What's more to say? All of it's good. The gameplay has been refined to a level that i can't see anything past. It feels fantastic. Speaking of new, 2 new classes of weapons have appeared. The Splatana, a straight sword you can bring to a gun fight. And the tri-stringer. the bow you see the main girl use. They're interesting weapons, but they're not easy to use in a pvp setting. I feel once these weapons have been learned by the community they'll truly shine.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the addition of the Squid roll is cool, even though i haven't seen much of it used. Like Xenoblade 3, the devs for Splatoon managed to nail the graphics of their third game. Everything looks cleaner. Especially the ink we fight in. (Did you know monolith assisted in development?)
Battling is almost unrecognizable. With every other mode, there's a lobby now. You can get the buff drinks here, see what your friends are doing, and even join them through a revamped matchmaking system. They even changed up the ranked mode. The way you make strides in your rank is different now. Rather than wins, you can enter a "series battle". You can give up points to go for a gauntlet of 5 battles where if you lose 3, you're done. This ranked mode rewards you on how well you preform, instead of just raw winning. This is suprisingly great and i think i don't see many other games do it. This is the first i've played to do it. Once you reach a point where you can go to a higher rank, you can attempt a "rank up battle". Same rules, but you have to win 3, or lose 3 to fail. It's like a test. When you clear it, it's a message to everyone else that you've earned your place there. More games should follow. it's genius.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To keep up with other service shooters out there, Splatoon added their own answer to a staple that all of them have. a Battle pass. Here, it's called the catalog. As you play, the points you get from EXP also go into it. As you level it up, you get stuff. Meal tickets, gear you can't get anywhere else, and extra goodies. More incentive to play, and it makes battling win or lose, more worth it (it's all free btw. It comes with the game.). Customiable lockers, banners, emotes and stickers on both make player expression reach heights it has never before in splatoon. It's fantastic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Presentation has been upped. Splatoon has never looked this good aesthetically. My favorite addition is the new results screen, which showcases the emotes you can work to get. There's many out there to be collected, and they're all animated wonderfully.
Tumblr media
The story mode? Amazing. It was structured like the octo expansion, but with more freedom. If you're not looking to deal with another girl power station, you can just... not do it. You craft your own path to the conclusion. And that freedom made this such a chill distraction.
Tumblr media
Like the rest of the game, the presentation has jumped in quality. Callie, Marie, Captain 3 and everyone else are far more expressive. The more cinematic camerawork that was used more in octo expansion also returns. I really want to see the storyboards behind this. It's very clear more money is going into this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is it. This is easily the best Splatoon game. It's refined, updated and made better in quite literally every aspect. The specials aren't a drag, the game plays and looks great, and all of the mechanics are damn near perfect. Just like Splatoon, just like Splatoon 2, I'll be playing this for years, up until whatever comes next releases. I don't know how they'll top this.

Making your self-insert a messy doof laying around playing Dragon Quest, legend. He is playing #5 by the way, that's the early town of Whealbrook. I've been rewatching HxH for the umpteenth time. Glad people are catching on to Greed Island being actually pretty dope finally. It has Bisky. Bisky is a polished, diamond-tier blorbo. You kick so much ass you leave your Nen ability up to looking cute and that's a mood. I'd either want that or Neon Nostrade's Lovely Ghostwriter. Those are neato abilities. Neon and dear sweet Kacho are my random favs. Alluka is baby, Kurapika is the Kurama of the main cast so he's the best and Shiapouf is like a bishie Boa Hancock so of course I love him. Also Morel for smoking hella weed and weaponizing it through a total pothead ability.
Anyways yeah, Greed Island. It's fun and fun things are fun. The final fight with the Bombers is amazing and really one of the best Togashi's ever written. It's punchy, frenetic, and isn't afraid to get suddenly violent. Bisky's beatdown is a great swerve, Killua gets to look legitimately clever in something more reminiscent of early YuYu Hakusho brawls, and Gon being a little psycho taking a beating before the great trap with gasoline is amazing.
That after having the right amount of fun with the "stuck in a game" premise and a training arc with girly Genkai give you a nice breather between Yorknew & Chimera Ant darkness. In hindsight works better as Ging setting up somewhat of a Dark Continent simulator and some of the hurdles really make sense with Ging's personality. The card collecting aspect hits well for me too. It makes it almost like it's taking two tropes that get tired easily and letting them support each other. Looking at a list it's really hard to pick out which three I'd actually take if I won the game.
Just because I talk about it some too...never really saw much of Dragon Quest specifically in Greed Island which is kinda weird. Maze Castle in YYH and Trick Tower in the Hunter Exam are where I see that the most if anywhere. Obviously they're more mainline RPGs and the MMO tenth installment wouldn't have been out then. 7 would be the most recent. It's very much Togashi's own thing, like how Earthbound is so quirky because a satirist played such a huge role in the design. It honestly feels a little more like N64-era collect-a-thons. Banjo-Kazooie on steroids which I guess was just Banjo-Tooie. BK's soundtrack is nonstop bangers so they get to be the standard bear-er. I would seriously bet money Togashi was one of those crazy souls who 100%ed Donkey Kong 64. I'll stop, I'm rambling again.
These are usually deeper, but that's all I'm feeling tonight. Finally tried out the 99 Greed Island anime for a change and liked certain aspects of it a lot. People have warmed up to it in more recent years and they're right. Though the arc has a reverse Yorknew vibe where the 2011 anime style suits it better. Think I have another Late Night Togashiposting a brewing, a classic style one, but that'll be another time. I do have a new Dragon Quest game to play around with.

Starting a new thing called SFW Sundays! ^^
the deal is that i find make sfw fanart of a character who primarily appears in nsfw contexts.
Why I'm Doing This
erotic artworks often don't afford their characters the same depth as those of non-erotic works (and of course, authors of these works don't necessarily have to if that isn't their goal). still, i have a fascination with moments of character depth embedded within a lewd work— when an author injects humanity into a character that could have just been a fully-objectified titty monster— or, better yet, works which purposefully intertwine day-to-day character depth with erotic situations. because damn it! I'm a person who's trying to integrate my repressed lewd interests into my already-complex sense of self, so I enjoy works which embody that ideal!
Who is Featured This Week?
(Source material CW: monsterfucking, sexual violence)
Vise from indie "erotic action RPG" Ruins Seeker 「 ルインズシーカー」! The game is created by Nupuryu (ぬぷ竜) who you can find on twitter (cursed site) @ nupuryu. Note that the creator's twitter is R18 o7
Ruins Seeker begins when our fantasy adventurer MC, Quem, sets foot into Heaven's Ladder, a sky-high vertical rougelite dungeon. She's the first person to enter in 500 years!... and she immediately gets cursed! D: Vise (supporting character) is an advisor/guide— mysteriously knowledgeable about the dungeon— who lends Quem a hand in climbing Heaven's Ladder and breaking the curse. these two are so gay!! <3 like the whole time i played i felt like they should really date (absent extenuating circumstances) ^^ Vise is at every checkpoint waiting for her girlcrush and gives her potions and they're so cute when they banter !! >w< Vise's flat, distantly wise, and caged demeanor contrasts excellently with Quem's expressive energy and worldly strength! °^°
Also did i mention Vise lives rent-free in my head? i've tried painting her on three earlier occasions in my art journey >w<
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
<- 2020, 2021, 2022 ->
Game Content
The world of Ruins Seeker is refreshingly fleshed out! With a charming hub town— which feels large and lived-in. There are also meaningful side quests involving the residents ^^ The main plot can be surprisingly sappy, which is right up my alley :^)
The gameplay is awesome!! It's absolutely unbelievable that this was made in RPG Maker. Instead of turn-based combat, this game has real-time birds-eye action where you juggle a melee weapon and ranged weapon (the plug-in list that makes this happen is... impressive!) There's so many different weapons too! I remember loving the 20-ton hammer and bone needles (maybe the names are wrong it's been a few years).
Erotic Content (cw: discussions of monster fetishes and fictional sexual violence)
not gonna lie i wasn't a big fan of the erotic aspect. like, i don't hate that it exists, but i can't help but feel a gap between the erotic content vs general story and gameplay. the curse that Quem gets struck with is an arousal curse that makes the monsters of the dungeon want to fuck her. these erotic scenes are triggered by game over (losing all health in the dungeon) and they're animated live 2D! they're also unique according to the type of monster that defeats Quem, and there are a LOT of MONSTERS. im impressed but not ecstatic about how many of these animations are in this game. truly, a lot of time and effort went into making this!
the lewd content doesn't feel well-integrated though. i do not recall many points when Quem actively struggles with a desire to fuck monsters. like, either you lose and the curse is triggered, or it gets flicked ON/OFF during a discrete cutscene to remind you it's there, or it's gameplay as usual and Quem is just her typical, go-getter adventurer self. if you don't lose, you can almost completely forget the lewd content is even there! which may be a plus, but i feel like there were missed opportunities for internal character conflict (which is why i like moody Vise more than brash Quem, sorry Quem! i still like you!!)
Final Words
so yeah! i like this game and i like Vise <3 though i obviously can't recommend it to everyone because the objectionable content is— in a few places (main story cutscenes)— an unremovable part of the game. i skipped a large portion of the optional lewd content (game over scenes and i think a side quest?) cuz i wasn't interested in exploring it back when i played the first time. tho if i were to replay, i might check it out.
Ruins Seeker was originally published in Japanese on DLsite and is available in English on Steam.

Dark souls and the Bushido.
In 2011, Bandai Namco published Hidetaja Miyazaki's opus Magnum, a spiritual sequel to demon's souls: dark souls.
The cover of the game, either the physical or the digital version, was dreading. A giant knight, covered in blue aura looking ominous.....and then, at the bottom, the player. A tiny warrior looking insignificant against such a big threat.
That already said a lot about the philosophy of the game, though it could always get deeper. Today I'm gonna talk about how this game delivered what was promised in the cover, just by letting you play the first level. And how it makes you encounter the challenge embracing the prospects of the Bushido without you noticing, how it makes you a warrior.
Now, as a disclaimer, i WON'T be talking about the story of the game, merely gameplay aspects, the first time I played this wasn't really paying attention to the narrative aspect, so everything I'm gonna comment can be obtained simply by playing.
Dark souls starts by setting a statement: you are nothing, you are pretty much destined to die in that cell jail or become a hollow and go crazy...but there's a chance you can escape that destiny. So you play! Encountering some easy enemies as the game teaches the mechanics, and then, you open a big black door on the way outside the prison. And a giant monster appears. A demon, the prison guard, giant health life, you dont have any good weapons yet, only a broken sword. What do you do?
Well, at first I didn't understood, I thought the game was being unfair and all, i tried to hit it: almost no damage. It's hits? Damn they hurt. What do you do. Think. And fast! Wait....there's an open door! A tiny little smidge in the background lit by torches!! You run there and escape. First lesson: If you can't fight the fight, either die foolishly over and over or escape and keep looking other options.
Now, you are still in the prison, you gotta keep exploring, don't give up. You get your weapons, real ones, stronger ones.
You encounter a fallen warrior, his journey is over, he couldn't withstand the challenges so he passes them on to you. Giving you his estus flask, a light of hope In this dark world, he asks you to leave. He's turning hollow and wouldn't wanna hurt you. Estus flask heal you, they are literally bonfire juice. They keep you alive until they run out of course and the- wait did you say bonfire juice? Damn I haven't talked about bonfires. This game is dark, and the first level is a great way of setting the mood for the rest of the game. But, every now and then, in what it feels like an eternity In game, you encounter bonfires. Safe and warm places where you can rest your soul, recharge your healings and recover. The game let's you breath.
But hey, you are still in that prison, and soon you find that the only way out is through that big door, you gotta kill that demon. And you do!! Your weapon does way more damage than before. Not giving up has given good results, you feel strong and energetic. Victory!!!!
You leave the prison and the real game starts, a whole giant world for you to explore and master. But one thing won't change: the lessons learnt in that prison will remain useful throughout the whole game. Be a warrior, you are weak but can get strong. One enemy at a time. Don't give up, be resilient and perseverant. Don't let your soul become dark and hollow.
Nikolas Naranjo, cfg translations and betrayals.

people who still say vex died from greed and deserved to suffer those consequences 😔 i have to say i’m not excited to revisit the greed aspect of the sunken tomb + broomgate again with tlovm. i wish the fandom/show used a word other than greedy to describe vex because i think the knee jerk “sin” aspect of the word keeps people from thinking about how much depth there is to that part of vex’s character, esp. the protector/defense against being taken advantage of aspect.
It's funny because:
1) Vex's "greed" is obviously the result of her upbringing and she pretty much spells that in-game and everybody knows it and while it's played for laughs, she never even acted that "greedy" in the first place? She just: made sure they all got properly paid, made sure to collect treasure after missions, tried to haggle to get better prices, kept an eye on the party's joined finances to make sure nobody went too far over-budget so they could buy important stuff like weapons and healing potions and what not... She was the reason VM was so well stablished and prepared all the time. You know how many of them would've died if it wasn't for the amount of healing potions they were able to acquire?
2) I never understood connecting the sunken tomb to her greed in the first place? I mean, that armor was the reason they were there to begin with. And Vex is extremely goal-oriented. And, yes, she wanted to see if she could get more treasure for the party (ALL THE TREASURE SHE FOUND WAS FOR THE PARTY SHE NEVER HOARDED RICHES FOR HERSELF) but she had restrain. She waited. She checked for traps. She knew what she was doing. It was someone else's greed —admittedly carelessness and just 'fuck it' as Percy himself admitted— that set the trap off before she could check it out. 'Oh, but she wouldn't have been there if she wasn't greedy!' That tomb was the reason they were there to begin with! Is she not allowed to complete the mission? Vex and Vax were the two better equipped to check for traps and Vax was busy elsewhere. Vex was being an important and useful part of the team in order to accomplish the thing they set precisely to do.
Anywayyyyyyyyy people were just looking for things to be mad about because they can't FATHOM that a 'girl' gets to be so cool and sexy and fun and useful... no no, she needs to have some fatal flaw that they can attack her with because there's no way that Laura is just so damn good at D&D and at acting and roleplaying and there's no way Vex is allowed to have flaws and vulnerabilities that make sense for her as a character without being demonized for it by the narrative. NOpe.
Anyway.
I appreciate that TLOVM has shown parts of this side of Vex (her running away with the bag of treasure in ep2 was hilarious honestly) but mostly treating it with respect —showing how she worries about the price of things, and tries to haggle, but she is still willing to put good money on the things they need to succeed and protect each other and does not hesitate to use those assets to protect the party (be it save Scanlan or give Kiki an elixir or buy as much holy oil as Gilmore can get even if it would've probably been super expensive).
I am extremely excited to get into the Chroma Conclave arc. I hope we get flashbacks to the twins's backstory (both in Bythoren, Syngorn and growing up in the streets after they ran away) so new —and, old— audiences can truly understand where this part of Vex'ahlia comes form.

Tumblr media
official genshin impact art
A = Aftercare (what they’re like after sex)
albedo is going to take such good care of you i promise. expect a lot of praises on how well you did as well as loving caresses.
he will make sure you are hydrated and will make you food if you’re hungry at all! he will oftentimes clean you up in the bath, but if you are too exhausted he will clean you up with a soft towel and rest besides you.
B = Body part (their favorite body part of theirs and also their partner’s)
albedo’s favorite body part would be your nipples. he is fascinated by how sensitive they are and how you mewl under him when he sucks on them.
in all honesty he wants to try to make you cum with just nipple stimulation. he will go at it for hours, just for a chance at making you cum.
C = Cum (anything to do with cum, basically)
i see him being able to shoot out more cum than you would have expected. he spends more time focused on his work rather than his needs.
his cum is slightly bitter to the taste, yet still enough for you to beg for more.
he really likes cum play, so expect for the both of you to cum multiple times per session. he also loves to cum on you as well as inside. he wants to see you covered with his cum and he may even smear it around your body.
D = Dirty secret (pretty self explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)
albedo really wants to develop an aphrodisiac just for you.
if you consent to this, expect waves after waves of pleasure flowing through your body. everything will be so sensitive, and you will be so horny and ready for him. he will definitely tease you like this and watch you come undone by simple touches.
however if you don’t consent, he will stop immediately. he does not want to do something that you don’t want and he respects your decisions.
E = Experience (how experienced are they? do they know what they’re doing?)
prior to you, i definitely feel like he was a virgin. he often struggles with relationships and tries to avoid unnecessary interactions so i don’t see him having a lover before you.
this does not mean he is clueless in sexual encounters with you. he has definitely studied the subject and will begin to study you to find what areas make you feel the best.
F = Favorite position (this goes without saying)
his favorite position is any of them where he can see your face.
he loves to see your fucked out facial expressions from how good he’s fucking you, whether it be his fingers, dick or anything else you two may use.
he loves your flushed cheeks and how your hand tries to cover your face in embarrassment. of course he pries your hand away because he loves your beautiful face. he also loves how lost you look to the pleasure and how your eyes roll back when he’s fucking your special spot.
G = Goofy (are they more serious in the moment? are they humorous? etc.)
albedo is generally a more serious person. he may give you a soft smile along with teasing kisses, but that is as close as he will get to being goofy.
he is more focused on testing your limits and making you feel good rather than cracking jokes. i don’t really think he would know any jokes that wouldn’t ruin the moment anyway.
H = Hair (how well groomed are they? does the carpet match the drapes? etc.)
albedo definitely has good hygiene, and tries to keep clean! he takes frequent showers back in mondstadt and takes good care of his gorgeous hair. his efforts to keep clean also reflect down there, as he keeps it trimmed.
I = Intimacy (how are they during the moment? the romantic aspect)
if you two are having soft sex, i see him as a total sweetheart! expect lots of praise and sweet chaste kisses.
he would take a lot more time just worshiping your body and telling you all the things he loves about you. he also puts in great effort to make sure you’re not in pain.
his pace will be a lot slower, unless you ask him to speed up. he also loves to plant kisses on your neck whilst thrusting in you.
J = Jack off (masturbation headcanon)
i headcannon that albedo is sexually frustrated. this man spends way too much time on his experiments and he forgets to take care of his needs too!
if he does masturbate, i honestly see him experimenting with himself and seeing what makes him feel good. he would definitely play around with nipple and prostate stimulation.
K = Kink (one or more of their kinks)
honestly i really see albedo having a breeding kink! as an alchemist, his main goals are to create life and understand the secrets of the universe.
but that also translates on to you. you are his own little mystery and he wants to find all your little pleasure spots. the way your little cunt flutters when he cums in you doesn’t go unnoticed.
with his fascination with creating life, expect him breeding you until the two of you are exhausted. as a homunculus, i don’t see him actually being able to impregnate you if that is applicable to you.
he will be cumming in you at least 5 times per session, he needs to see you full with his cum. he honestly gets upset when he sees his cum flowing out of you, he will scoop it up and shove it back into you until it stays in.
L = Location (favorite places to do the do)
if either of you are exhausted or didn’t have the best day, know that he is going to bring you to bed and take care of you. he loves soft sex and just trying to make you feel as good as you can. he often coos at how comfortable you look while he fucks you into the mattress.
albedo really gets off on taking you in his lab. in the lab, he often treats you as his own special little experiment! he loves to test how much you can take, as well as how little stimulation can make you come undone. he loves the lab setting and often takes notes on your reactions!
M = Motivation (what turns them on, gets them going)
this man is spurred on by your reactions to your touch. he loves how you writhe beneath him, how your toes curl and eyes roll back.
he is also really attracted to your moans. part of the reason why he isn’t as vocal is because he is listening to you. he loves your begging and panicked moans, he may even cum on the spot to it.
N = No (something they wouldn’t do, turn offs)
he is an experimentalist, however he would never do something against your will or that would cause great bodily harm. he may slap your ass or choke you but he is not into knife play or any weapon play.
he also doesn’t want to go past your breaking point. you would have to be the one begging him to continue and he would have a safe word established ahead of time. he will ask repeatedly if you are doing okay.
O = Oral (preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc.)
albedo loves both giving a receiving equally as much!
if you give him a blowjob, he mainly wants you to do what you think feels best for him. he isn’t entirely sure what he wants you to do. but when your tongue curls around his tip and your hands quickly jerking him up and down, he doesn’t know how long he will be able to last.
when giving you oral, expect major teasing before he even touches you. he wants you needy and writhing beneath him before he dives his tongue straight into your cunt. expect a mixture of both his fingers and his tongue.
P = Pace (are they fast and rough? slow and sensual? etc.)
it honestly depends on the mood. he would definitely prefer to go more slow and tease you, but you would be mistaken if you think that he wouldn’t slam his dick into your sweet spot over and over, just abusing it.
Q = Quickie (their opinions on quickies, how often, etc.)
this man does not like quickies in the slightest. he thinks there is not enough time to worship your body as well as to fuck you beyond coherency. he likes spending his time pleasing you and experimenting on you which takes time.
albedo does not see the point of just fucking you for 10 minutes and being done. he likes to drag things out and see how horny you can get just from his teases.
R = Risk (are they game to experiment? do they take risks? etc.)
albedo is the king of experimentation. he wants to understand sex more and what feels good. but this goes for the pair of you.
he primarily wants to experiment on you and find what makes you crumble from the pleasure. i see him playing around with orgasm denial, orgasm ruining, and overstimulation. he absolutely loves cum play on you. he also loves trying out new toys on you as well as nipple stimulation.
on himself, he often experiments with anal stimulation and his prostrate. he wants to understand why it just feels so good when your fingers are curling in his ass. he may even beg to sub for you and have you fuck him with your dick or strap.
S = Stamina (how many rounds can they go for? how long do they last?)
he has an unusually high stamina and he will definitely use that! with his love to test you, know he will be using his dick to absolutely ruin your cunt as many times as you can handle. he may even try to go past your breaking point if you allow him.
T = Toys (do they own toys? do they use them? on a partner or themselves?)
expect albedo to even make toys for you. dildos infused with elemental energy to get different reactions out of you, lube created from diluted slime secretions, and even vibrators of many shapes and sizes.
the toys he would make and use on himself would be the vibrators and he would often use cock rings to deny himself. he loves testing himself as much as he does testing you.
U = Unfair (how much they like to tease)
you will get many teases from albedo when you get intimate with him! he loves to see that only he can make you like this.
some teases include; “so needy, already? i haven’t even touched you.” “you wouldn’t want to stop the experiment would you? we would have to start all over again.” “what a good little cumslut, keeping my cum in your cute little cunt.”
V = Volume (how loud they are, what sounds they make, etc.)
albedo tends to be on the quiet side. rather than loud moans, he tends to have breathy groans. if you’re lucky enough, you may even get to hear him whimper a bit once he gets close enough.
he also really likes to hear your moans and whines, so he keeps quiet. he really gets off on your whines when it just feels too good. if you ask him to be louder, it will mainly be praises towards you.
W = Wild card (a random headcanon for the character)
if he is in his lab doing research, expect his dick in your cunt. albedo absolutely loves cockwarming, he is able to be close to you whilst working on his work at the same time.
he is humored when your walls flutter around him and will tease you about it. if you start rocking your hips, he will only grasp your thighs and teasingly scold you for interrupting him.
however, if you continue to move around, ignoring his wishes, he will only make you stay on his lap even longer. the more you move, the longer he will test your limits with cockwarming.
X = X-ray (let’s see what’s going on under those clothes)
based on his in game model, albedo seems to be on the slimmer side. due to his work in swordsmanship he is very much toned, but he is not bulky.
to be honest i don’t think albedo only has a star on his neck. i’m not sure where, but i feel like he has more starlike marks on his body.
his dick however, is about 5-6 inches with a circumference of about 3.5 inches. no matter what his size is, you still will be fucked into oblivion by his dick.
Y = Yearning (how high is their sex drive?)
it really depends on his mood. he doesn’t have an extremely high sex drive, but once you get him going, he doesn’t wanna stop.
if he has an especially tough day with his work, he may release his stress on you by fucking you. his stamina is high, so expect him to fuck you for hours u til you’re both spent.
you may have to initiate a majority of the intimacy, but once he gets into it, he will fuck you into the mattress.
Z = Zzz (how quickly they fall asleep afterwards)
albedo insists on staying up to do some research oftentimes after sex. he will stay in bed with you but will probably stay awake unless you beg him to sleep.
if you do get him to rest, he will wait for you to fall asleep before passing out like a light. good job for getting our favorite alchemist boy some sleep!

Dean Winchester Smut Alphabet
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A = Aftercare (what they’re like after sex)
Dean is usually pretty exhausted after sex. He likes to be able to just go to sleep afterward, but he’s not heartless, he’ll check in on you, make sure you’re alright and once he knows you are, will probably pass out.
B = Body part (favorite body part of their partner’s)
Dean loves your ass, loves grabbing onto it while you’re fucking and feeling it in his calloused hands.
C = Collar (do they mark you as theirs in some way?)
Nah, not really. He’s not that possessive. He’ll tell someone off if they hit on you, and may buy you a necklace that reminds you of him, but to him it’s not some symbol of ownership.
D = Dominant (do they prefer to dominate, or be dominated? are they a top or a bottom?)
Dean is typically pretty dominant, but he’s happy to let you take over when he’s had a rough week.
E = Experience (how experienced are they? do they know what they’re doing?)
Dean is well experienced. He knows what he’s doing, but he’s not too proud to be taught a few new tricks.
F = Fuck (do they prefer to fuck or make love?)
Dean prefers to fuck. Making love seems too 'chick flick' for him, though he does admit on a rare occasion it’s nice.
G = Goofy (are they more serious in the moment? are they humorous? etc.)
He tries to be more serious in the moment, but if something goofy happens, he’s right there with you to laugh it off and move on.
H = Hot (what turns them on, gets them going)
A little competition can easily get Dean going. Be it a serious bet, or a friendly game of chance, the thrill of not knowing who is going to win can definitely get Dean in the mood.
I = Intimacy (how are they during the moment? the romantic aspect)
Dean can be romantic, but it’s not always his first priority. That stuff often falls to the back of his mind, though if you give him a little advance notice, he’ll set up something more romantic with some classic rock playing softly in the background and be more attentive in bed.
J = Jack off (masturbation headcanon)
You’ve caught Dean jerking off more than a few times. He doesn’t have much in the way of stress relief, so that’s typically what he does, and if you’re willing to help him out, he’s almost never going to refuse.
K = Kink (one or more of their kinks)
Dirty talk. Dean loves dirty talk. Sometimes it can border on cheesy, but it’s something that just comes naturally to him. And when you talk dirty back, oh boy, he cannot get enough.
L = Location (favorite places to do the do)
Usually any old motel room bed will suffice, but he does like to take you into Baby's backseat every once in a while. Though not without plenty of precautions. Can’t have either of you making a mess back there.
M = Mood (what’s the foreplay like? how do you get them in the mood?)
Foreplay is real easy with Dean. Turn up the radio, kiss his neck and touch his thighs. By the time you’re undoing his pants, he’s practically ready to blow.
N = No (something they wouldn’t do, turn offs)
Dean doesn’t like bringing his weapons into the bedroom. Leave all the demon knives and angel blades for the monster killing. He doesn’t need them crossing over into his sexy time.
O = Oral (preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc.)
He very much prefers to receive. Like, it drives him crazy when you give him head. It’s like he lives for it. He’s not so bad at repaying the favor, but he could use a little more practice time before you’d consider him perfect.
P = Pace (are they fast and rough? slow and sensual? etc.)
Dean is pretty fast and rough more often than not. You’ve really got to tell him to take it slow if you want it that way, otherwise he’ll just give himself over to his more animal instincts.
Q = Quickie (their opinions on quickies, how often, etc.)
He loves a good quickie. Nothing like a little danger and some fast action to get him pumped for a hunt. And you’re welcome to stop him for a quickie almost anytime.
R = Risk (are they game to experiment? do they take risks? etc.)
He definitely experiments as long as you’re up for it and he likes a bit of risk as well. If there’s a possibility of getting caught, then it just makes it hotter.
S = Stamina (how many rounds can they go for? how long do they last?)
Dean can typically only do one round and doesn’t often last very long, though when you catch him on a better night he’ll last longer and go for a couple of rounds.
T = Tryst (are they into casual sex or one night stands?)
He is, he’ll be the first to admit it. That’s just what he’s used to. Of course he doesn’t favor them exclusively, but if it’s readily offered, he probably won’t refuse.
U = Unfair (how much they like to tease)
Dean doesn’t tease too much really. He’s a bit selfish in that regard. He often forgets that sometimes you need a little more stimulation than he does.
V = Volume (how loud they are, what sounds they make, etc.)
Dean will let loose a lot of grunts and moans, even a growl or two when he’s really in the moment. He’s not super loud about it, but loud enough to probably be heard through thin motel walls.
W = Wait (how long do they wait before having sex with their partner for the first time?)
Not long. Honestly he’ll take you to bed with him as soon as possible. He’ll turn up the charm to a ten and flirt his ass off until you get under the sheets with him.
X = X-ray (let’s see what’s going on under those clothes)
Dean has definitely got some muscles under those flannels. That’s really no surprise. He’s more of a boxers sort of man and he does go for some fun prints sometimes, so you never know what kind of underwear you’ll catch him in.
Y = Yearning (how high is their sex drive?)
High. Not through the roof, but it’s like always the second thing on his mind.
Z = Zzz (how quickly they fall asleep afterwards)
He’s out like a light not long after. Unless you need him to cuddle or need him to do something else, he’ll be fast asleep afterwards.

Kofi Match up for @devotionage !
The info:
I’m an INTJ, 5’6 and athletic, kind of like Margot Robbie: thin with a wide rib cage. Bi and goes by she/her pronouns. Long blonde hair that I like to make wavy.
I love being artistic with makeup and nail art with nerdy designs like Pokemon balls and the TMNT. I’d draw more if I had the time and discipline.
I love working out and doing yoga for stress relief and fun. I love horses and dogs and my favourite food is sushi. I used to do gymnastics (still very flexible from it) but I switched to martial arts after I got a concussion. I have a black belt in Tae kwon-do and I absolutely love sparring and weapons training. I’m really good with the bo and sais.
I’m definitely a closeted nerd. I cosplay. I love Sci Fi and fantasy based tv series/ movies / games like Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Star Wars, and Star Trek. Aliens of any species have always fascinated me. I loved reading horror/ fantasy books. My absolute favourite things to do with friends are panic rooms and laser tag, anything competitive or challenging with a team.
Personality wise: I'm pretty outgoing for an introvert. I like my alone time but I need intimacy from the people closest to me. I'll talk about anything and will try anything at least once. I'm an ambitious and academically focused person, school and my career are my #1 priority. I’d say my flaw is being a perfectionist which can lead to anxiety and make me overly critical of myself. Overall I’m a passionate person who wants to know more about the big universe she's in."
I match you with Fugitive!
Tumblr media
Every strong aspect of yours complements Fugitive's beautifully. From being a closeted nerd to doing well socially but still need your own space.
Everything about you interests him. When he thinks he knows all of you, you come through the door with pokemon nails and he can't help but stop for a second because that shouldn't be nearly as cute as it is.
Fugitive knows more about human culture than the average yautja does. A lot more, he could say; so getting to watch and talk about movies, series and games with you is the one thing he didn't know he needed. Fugitive had never really played games before, at least nothing like the human ones you show him. His favorite is Dragon age, he loves slaying dragons in the game but never leaves a side quest behind, finishes the game 100%. While the controller might be too small and the pc keyboard too fragile, he loves getting to spend time with you, even if it means not playing while you both wait on for a custom made controller for his size, he will gladly watch you play (while also giving his input on whatever you're doing, call it hunter's experience)
Another thing that Fugitive loves about you is how willing you are to try things. Number one; because he's an alien, and no average person would just accept him like that, and also because he himself is not afraid to try anything new. Fugitive had never eaten sushi before, so when you introduce it to him, he's curious. Definitely breaks the first set of disposable chopsticks that comes with the food on accident, is grateful for the hardwood ones you own
Fugitive loves engaging in the activities you do, the tae kwon-do black belt sure did both impress and intrigue him in the best way possible. He can't help but feel some sort of pride watching your moves and just how well you can find for yourself, he asks you about your techniques and tries to mimic them, you draw the line of your little training session when he kicks a tree too hard and breaks it in half
Loves playing wrestling and sparring with you, and while it may seem impossible to play wrestle with a yautja, with Fugitive it's not only possible but also fun! Plus it does lead to more...strenuous activities because of all the manhandling going on
All in all, Fugitive would love to know you and all these layers that make you more and more interesting and fun to be with while you do the same thing to him! You bring out the best in each other in a way that he hadn't ever expected happening, he falls hard for you!
