Starscream Prompt of the Week: Family

Some thoughts on TFP Starscream:

Even tho Starscream seems egotistical, and rude to those around him, he is not a total aft. I genuinely think he cared about his family... and who I even talk about here? His Seekers of course. He is proud, when he gets to mention he was the Commander of the Energon Seekers (and as people may just say, he likes to brag, I won't agree with them 100%). He also doesn't want to have the dead spare hand of, likely, one of his Seekers, when Optimus shots off his own (he's probably forced to it later, as he has no choice, cause his hand is probably lost forever in the shadowzone, but KO did a great job with making it exactly the same, so kudos to him). Let's not forget, that Seekers comes in trines, and he probably really hates being alone (even tho in aligned novels, he is responsible for the death of at least Skywarp), but look at him thrive with a glimple of his old life, when he gets his small armada, and even Megatron tries to treat him better at the end of season 2. And it's so easy to look at my points, and be like "Jay... that doesn't have sense at all!", but it is exacktly like that with Starscream.

He is not a black-or-white character, and to properly analyse him, you have to sit down, and look at what prolonged, unidentified trauma does with ones brain... You have to look at the context of the situation, what happened to him already, what other characters around him did. What he thinks they did. All of this matters when looking at Starscream. And all of that gets harder, as he is a character that backstabs himself because he overthinks everything too much... as if, he didn't have his two trusty advisors anymore to help... But I got lost in my interpretations, when the prompt is so clear...

So what do I think family is was for Starscream? It was his pride, his power, his confidence. He was respected, and he got his back covered. I think he mourns the lose of them. Lack of safety, lack of respect, it twists him up, and people tend to forget about that sometimes... especially when often all he needs to be better is someones attention, and respect. Not only plain power hunger drives him, as many would say at the first glance. Because maybe that power hunger now, has it's core not in him being egocentric, but in the real want of having a glimpse of his old life, craving for safety, and normal treatment, that he doesn't have anymore. He probably doesn't even recognise where his wishes of being a leader come from, as it is often the case with traumatised people, but all his wishes are actually to be liked, and respected again, to be safe again, and to be treated as someone... again.

Because honestly... imagine TFP with all of Starscream's Seekers, loyal to him. He would be unstoppable (if not for the plot... making him loose, because Hasbro said so... of course, but that's a topic for another time).

Thank you @starscreamweek for doing this events. I wasn't sure if Starscream's fandom is alive anymore, and I'm positively surprised. It's good to be back after 10 years...

How would the tfa bots and cons react to a bot who is starscream twin brother base on his shattering glass counterpart

Since there isn't too much information on TFA Starscream's personality I mixed it a bit with IDW's Shattered Glass Starscream. Buddy the loyal Decepticon and Starscream the backstabber, who would have thought them being twins?

TFA

No one knows how this happened. It is one of the greatest mysteries unknown to Cybertron. How can the most loyal member of the Decepticon ranks, almost at par with Lugnut levels of loyalty, be related (much less twin) to the most backstabbing and whiny Second in command of its army? How could this soldier of the greatest armies in the galaxy be so found of science and organics?

Optimus Prime

When they first met, Prime thought that Buddy might have been another Starscream clone right off the bat. But it isn’t until he sees some kibble differences and overall different aura, that he realizes that that mech is no clone.

“You’re not Starscream! Who are you?”--Optimus

“Wow! First, that axe is very strong. What type of alloy is it made of? Getting off topic, my name is Buddy. A proud Decepticon under Megatron’s alligence.”--Buddy

“Are you some sort of clone like the others?”--Optimus

“Nope. Completely original. I get that I look like Starscream a lot actually. But there’s so many differences!”--Buddy

“oh, well—”--Optimus

“Not to mention being his Spark twin can really work up your circuits you know?”--Buddy

“…What?”--Optimus

Prime literally stops fighting for a good couple of seconds after hearing this. Buddy takes this opportunity and flies away. Optimus remembers reading on some Decepticon files back at the academy and through his ‘history videos’.

Buddy lets the Prime go to go see off.

Prime is even more confused the next time he sees Buddy actively fighting alongside Megatron and making a good team?

He has never seen Starscream fight alongside him like that, and he is second in command. Optimus almost admires Buddy’s loyalty and admiration to Megatron whenever some bot talks ill of the Warlord.

When the Prime and Buddy have the next fight one-on-one He does give an effort to try and persuade Buddy to join the Autobots side.

“You know it’s a shame that you fight for the Decepticons, Buddy.”--Optimus

“Oh, is it little Prime?”--Buddy

“Yes, --WOW!— Which is why I’m offering you a spot with the Autobots!”--Optimus

“Well now this is weird then.”--Buddy

“Why is—Watch it!—Weird?”--Optimus

“Because I was going to offer you a spot in our ranks too!”--Buddy

“…Huh?”--Optimus

“Oh boy, Hey Autobots! I think I broke your leader!”--Buddy

Ratchet

Oh, they have met before.

It was a few missions before the Lockdown incident back in the final days of the war.

He had been helping a wounded bot when he was suddenly face to face with a blaster. It would have gone off if Buddy had not interfered.

“Die Autobot scum!”—Random Decepticon

“Hey!”--Buddy

“Commander Buddy?!”—Random Decepticon

“Do you see this mech? This is a medic! We do not shoot medics with the wounded!”--Buddy

“But sir he is an Auto—”—Random Decepticon

“I do not care which side he is on! No one shoots the medics! Do you understand me!”--Buddy

“Yes sir!”—Random Decepticon

“Good. I will deal with this. Get back to base for regroup.”--Buddy

“Yes Comander.”—Random Decepticon

“…”--Ratchet

“I know you don’t trust me. But trust this one thing. Run.”--Buddy

Ratchet hadn’t seen or heard of that Decepticon since that day. When they meet again it was almost as if history repeated itself. Lugnut was about to detonate his bomb when Buddy held his arm back.

“Buddy!?”--Lugnut

“Lugnut! Megatron needs—”--Buddy

Zooom!

“We have to stop meeting like this doctor.”--Buddy

“What made you stop him this time?”—Ratchet

Straight to the point I see.”--Buddy

“You could have killed me and the kid. Why didn’t you do it?”--Ratchet

“…The organic child you have… are they all right?”--Buddy

…Yes, she’s fine.”--Ratchet

“Good.”--Buddy

Ratchet has conflicted feelings now whenever he is on the battlefield with him. At least he knows now that Buddy has a soft spot for organic life forms.

Bumblebee

Oh, he does not care.

Like Optimus he first thinks that he is some Starscream clone.

Doesn’t really care that they aren’t.

He does stop when he is told that they are Starscreams twin brother.

But he quickly continues fighting.

If he is related to Starscream then he has to be just as bad as him, right?

“He is just some slimly Con like the rest of them! Maybe just as bad as Screamer.”--Bumblebee

“Oh, I don’t know about that.”--Ratchet

“What do you mean. If anything, you should be agreeing with me!”—Bumblebee

“He has saved my life before. Twice actually.”--Ratchet

“Excuse me what?”—Bumblebee

Bumblebee does feel a bit conflicted on hearing Ratchets stories on Buddy. He is a Decepticon… but they also saved Ratchets life twice!

He will still shoot at him but this time more for injury than anything else.

Sari

She has a mini vendetta against cons since they took her dad from her.

Jokes around with Bee calling them Lugnut 2.0.

But where are the conflicting feelings?

Here they are.

Takes time after Sari finds out she is a techno organic.

Sari had been caught in the crosshairs of Lugnuts servo and crashed on to the ground under a billboard. What she didn’t know was that the billboard had been damaged and was no falling. Her jetpack as damaged and she just froze in place.

“SARI!”—Optimus, Bumblebee, Bulkhead

“KID!”--Ratchet

“NO!”--Prowl

She could hear the shouts of her friends but the only thing she was focusing on was the falling billboard and debris that was coming closer and closer.

Buddy who had seen the damage shrieked and flew over to the girl and used his body to shield her from the billboard and debris effectively covering them both. Sari remembered hearing a shriek and a couple of servos pulling her to the bot’s chassis all she could do was close her eyes. When she opened them again, she was face to face with Buddy.

“Are you okay? Are you hurt?”--Buddy

“What? Yeah, I’m okay I think.”--Sari

“Oh, that’s a relief.”--Buddy

“Why did you do that?”--Sari

“You have no part in our war. I refuse to have anyone civilian deaths that are not necessary.”--Buddy

“But you’re a Decepticon?”--Sari

“Just because I’m a Decepticon does not mean I hate organic life like my twin or companions.”--Buddy

“Oh, yeah Starscream’s your twin, right?”--Sari

“Exactly young one.”--Buddy

“BUDDY!”--Starscream

“Oh, I think that our rescuers.”--Buddy

A dozen servos suddenly shout out pulling and yanking the debris from off Buddy. Sari was still in his grasp protectively shielding her from any harm. When Buddy came out, he was almost knocked down by Starscream’s hug.

“OH, THANK PRIMUS! BUDDY! HOW COULD YOU DO SUCH A DUMB—OH PRIMUS YOU’RE HURT! LUGNUT GRAB HIM WE ARE GETTING OUT OF HERE!”—Starscream

“Screamy, hold on—”--Buddy

“FOR THE GREAT AND GLORIOUS LEADER MEGATRON!”--Lugnut

“Prime! Catch!”--Buddy

Buddy tossed Sari to Optimus as he was literally picked up and flown away for repairs. The team crowded around Sari trying to see if any damage was done. Not a single scratch was on her head.

Buddy was the one who took the damage.

She now thinks very differently of the Con.

Bulkhead

Bulkhead’s interaction with Buddy was under peculiar circumstances.

Bulkhead was battling it out with Scrapper, Mixmaster, and Dirt Boss when Buddy had arrived. Buddy looked like he was out for blood. Bulkhead thought it was for him and got ready to clobber the new Decepticons.

“Dirt Boss! Mix Master! Scrapper! Where are you?!”--Buddy

“Umm… hi?”--Bulkhead

“Oh, an Autobot. Don’t worry I’m not here for you.”--Buddy

To his surprise, Buddy went after the Constructicon’s instead.

As it turned out, Dirt Boss had Mix Master and Scrapper mess with Starscream’s wings because ‘he was too loud’.

“You, Autobot. What’s your designation?”--Buddy

“My name is Bulkhead.”--Bulkhead

“Good. Now Bulkhead, would you care to help me pound these dirty Con’s to the ground?”--Buddy

“But aren’t they on your same team?”--Bulkhead

“Oh, they were. But that changed the moment they decided to mess and hurt Starscream’s wings. So, you in or out?”—Buddy

“…”--Bulkhead

“We are just roughing them up a bit.”--Buddy

“I’m in!”—Bulkhead

Together the two of them punted the Con’s into Lake Erie.

“Wow. You really have the strength for this Bulkhead.”--Buddy

“Oh, thanks—”--Bulkhead

“I’m also sensing some untapped potential. That’s some potential that the Decepticons could use. What do you say Bulkhead?”--Buddy

“No thanks! I’m good being an Autobot.”--Bulkhead

“Well at least you’re polite. Until we meet again Bulkhead.”--Buddy

Buddy then transformed and flew into the night. Now Bulkhead really doesn’t want to hit him.

Prowl

Attacks Buddy straight on.

He is one of the smallest members on the team, besides Bumblebee. He sees something coming at him he is going to strike at it. Buddy actually had gotten a tip about Prowl over a conversation he heard from Swindle and Lockdown.

Buddy sees an opportunity. Having a bot with such incredible talents would certainly give the Decepticon’s an edge in this war.

“Hello there—Woah!”--Buddy

“That was a warning.”--Prowl

“I just came here to offer—”--Buddy

“The next one goes through your servo.”--Prowl

“Fine. I’ll come another day.”--Buddy

Prowl is dodging all these requests like the Draft.

Except this time, he is making sure he doesn’t get caught.

Megatron

Ah, yes, his favorite soldier.

“Megatron.”--Buddy

“Buddy.”--Megatron

“I have the equipment necessary for the next phase of the plan.”--Buddy

“Excellent. At least some bots here are doing their work. You are dismissed.”--Megatron

“Yes, sir.”—Buddy

Don’t tell Lugnut.

Not only does Buddy offer him just loyalty, but because he also treats him as a mech, not some deity. He tries not to hurt Starscream too much whenever he is around.

They don’t make loyal soldiers like they used to.

Is willing to overlook some of Buddy’s softer behaviors on the battlefield because he always brings in good results back.

Starscream

He loves his spark twin.

It might not seem like it at first. Afterall their personalities contradict themselves. But if you have been around them long enough you can see the undying loyalty between these two brothers.

“I hate you and your organic meddling. How can you even stand them?”--Starscream

“Love you too Screamy. And they are called humans. Only some of them are dirty, not all brother.”--Buddy

Starscream and Buddy are very protective of each other.

Which is one of the reasons why Starscreams punishments have gone down with Buddy being around. Buddy is just and fair, starscream is not. That’s why sometimes Buddy will not interfere with Megatrons punishements, because Starscream deserved it. But that doesn’t mean he is heartless.

He always patches up his brother after every punch shot or anything.

“You know, if you’d stop trying to over thrown our leader maybe then I wouldn’t have to pound out all the dents in your wings.”--Buddy

“You’ll be thanking me when I do become leader.”--Starscream

“Sure, Screamy keep telling yourself that.”--Buddy

Blitzwing

His personalities clash whenever he is around.

Icy prefers Buddy’s presence a lot more than Hothead. It’s one of the only other intelligent being he can talk to.

“Did you recalibrate you blasters yet?”--Icy

“Not yet. Which circuits did you use to hotwire Lugnuts?”--Buddy

“The red one.”—Icy

Hothead can’t stand him on some days claiming him to be going soft. Other times he will get mad at Buddy for getting hurt over meaningless things.

“If you hadn’t thought about going after that organic, I wouldn’t have to help haul you off to the Med bay!”--Hothead

“Is that right?”--Buddy

“I could be scouting outside right now. But no! You had to get hit by a billboard!”--Hothead

Random likes to play games with Buddy and make random sounds. He has a whole record on weird noises to play with Buddy.

Sesame Street theme song starts playing.

“IT’S BEEN 3 HOURS! TURN IT OFF!”--Starscream

Distant giggles

Buddy always vouches for him whenever someone makes a comment on his different personalities.

All three of them like that

Lugnut

If he is going anywhere were Blitzwing isn’t Buddy is his next pick.

He knows that buddy can be trusted with sensitive things concerning the all glorious leader Megatron.

“Buddy. I have an important message for Lord Megatron.”--Lugnut

“If it’s another poem about his greatness, I suggest you not take it to him today. He is having a bad day today.”--Buddy

“…Please?”--Lugnut

“… Give me the data pad.”--Buddy

He very much apprentice Buddy sticking up for him whenever someone’s comments make an unnecessary jab to his ‘obsession’.

Buddy has a lot of brownie points on Lugnut’s book.

Blackarchnia

Honestly one of her only friends in the ranks is Buddy.

Since she came to the Decepticon side later not many were found of her and her organic mold. Buddy was the first besides Megatron to greet her with open arms.

Not even Lugnut got there fast.

“Welcome Blackarchnia, to the Decepticons.”--Buddy

“…”--Blackarachnia

“I know it may be a lot to take in, so I will be here to help to make sure you understand the ropes around here.”--Buddy

“…Thank you…”--Blackarachnia

She does spill her secret about being Elita-One, one night in a secluded area. She thought that Buddy would shoot her right them and there. But Buddy instead held her as she started sobbing.

Now that doesn’t mean that Buddy is okay with how she is treating this whole situation with Sentinel and Optimus, Buddy being the scientist he is has tried to help Blackarchnia with her situation. But no matter how much he has tried to explain toher that this would kill her, he tries to be as supportive as he can about her organic half.

MTMTE Bots X Reader Headcanons - Oblivious

A/N - I peeked at the vote results early by voting once myself. I have zero patience. So, since it's a mix of headcanons and fics, I'm gonna go through my inbox and do a few asks as headcanons and save the rest for fics. Oh, also I missed out Thunderclash, just 'cos I'm less familiar with him and I haven't read the comics in a while.

Minimus Ambus

You work with Minimus a lot, reporting to him on Megatron's behaviour.

He was used to your previous hair colour, red and blue with a few white streaks.

What a coincidence that you should dye it green, black, and blue just as he is becoming more comfortable going about his tasks without the Magnus armour.

"Do you like my new hairstyle?" You ask him, quietly hinting that it's him you really like.

"It's in line with regulation, so it's more than adequate."

Honestly, you didn't know there were hair regulations until Minimus said that. You should have guessed. He is meticulous after all.

You thought you were being direct, but you'll have to be more to the point if you want this boyyo to notice you.

"I thought it would be nice to match you."

You think you can hear Minimus' cooling fans click on.

"Yes, well," He clears his vocaliser. "I am proud to have been a positive influence on you."

He hastily finds an excuse to look away from you, staring pointedly at his beloved paperwork.

It's only when he sees you practising your handwriting to be more in line with his that he thinks he might be feeling something akin to love.

Nope, no, not love. Probably just a spark infection. He'll see Ratchet to make sure his systems are functioning optimally later.

Swerve

Swerve notices the change in your hair and clothes immediately. He always notices the things you do.

Oh wow... Do you even realise that you match his colour scheme now? Probably not. This was likely just a happy accident.

Oh, if Swerve could match you, he would.

He likes to imagine those happy couples on Earth with the same Christmas jumpers on, and you would send a card to everyone you knew. There would be a dog of course, and three children, all in the same outfits, and- did you say hi to him? Primus! He'd been so far off in his fantasy that he'd completely blanked you.

"Do you like dogs?" He asked point blank, forgetting himself momentarily. He's checking for accuracy. If not, he's going to change the fantasy pet to a cat.

"Sure," You grin. "Dogs are cute."

You've got up to the bar now.

"Your hair looks nice," He says after a minute, smiling softly. "I really love you- IT! THE HAIR! Not- Not you. I love your hair. It's nice that we match, 'cos like, orange is a good colour, which is why it's my paint job, so it's good to see you like it too, 'cos you match me- Wait, did that sound arrogant? It did, didn't it!"

Now he's spiralling. He's trying to wave off the embarrassment and he's knocked some energon on you.

"Shoot," You say, though you're not too upset, it's just a mild annoyance. "I don't have any other orange clothes. Guess we won't match any more."

You want to match him? Even when he was such a glitch. Swerve has hearts in his optics.

Okay, he's working up the nerve to ask you out. He's gonna do it. Just give him like a month to build up the courage.

You remembered everything about how you got killed, the crying before you lost your hearing, the optics looking in horror how the strongest autobot is about to die. Now? Nobody has any idea what happened, your body vanished before they started looking for it. Optimus carried your legacy as the one and last prime. He was your friend, but you didn't get to be friends that long. Since he was made so late and you met 10 years before the war started. It felt like you woke up immediately you fell down. Where am I? you think, but soon enough you hear a voice you recongize. Megatron. "The legend is real! Y/N! I have summoned you to help us decepticons to bring Cybertron back to life and rise as the Queen/King of the battlefields like you used to be!" used to? Used to?! "Since when I wasn't the Queen/King of the battlefields? And what do you mean summoned?" I put my upper hands on my waist and lower ones crossed. "You have been offline for quite a while, Y/N. Join us since I don't want to destroy such a fighter." What is he talking about? Before you could answer a spacebridge appeared. Well it's a groundbridge but you don't need to know that yet. Through the groundbridge walks Optimus Prime himself! "Orion?!" "OPTIMUS!" Both you and Megatron yelled. "Y/N DESTROY HIM!" Did he just order me around, used-to-be-low-level mech just ordered me around?! "Are you! GIVING ME! THE QUEEN/KING OF THE BATTLEFIELDS, ORDERS?" I jumped to attack Megatron, he dodged. Another swing and a hit aswell. Punching again, Megatron catched my servo, but is definitely struggling against all my strength. I almost forgot! I have four hands! You thought as you go and punch Megatron into his 'stomach'. You pick him up and throw him to the nearest cliff you see. "Y/n? It can't be." That low voice..turning around you look at the red n' blue mech. "Optimus?"

Optimus Prime

He missed you so much! So so so so much! No matter how emotionless he can be he definitely hugged you either at the spot where you two reunited or back at the base.

Before you were summoned and revived he used to look through your files. He always stared at the picture, trying to remember how you looked when he would do something smart or help them with something.

He would try (keyword! try) to spar with you as training, but he lost usually. (Much to his shock, he did think he was good at fighting.)

Would let you go alone to a mission (HOW) and lets you have fun with the kids every now and then.

He need help? You're there. He's losing to Megs? You're there to beat some decepticon aft.

He loves your four hands, anytime he would be hurt or just needs support all your hands would around him hugging him gently.

Ratchet

But in the battlefield? Oh oh I'm glad you asked. He doesn't know if he should be scared or proud to see you back in action. He is glad about that you would save him no matter what comes against.

He had heard about you when Cybertron still had life on it's surface.

He never believed you're real, until the moment he sees you.

Four arms!? He had to check them out (for science research of course) and see how they work, because he's a medic!

Anytime you would get wounded he's rushing over to you.

He would be against it that you would go on the battlefield. You ALWAYS have to confront him that you hold the title queen/king of the battlefield.

He does like how nice and helpful you are. Since you're the queen/king of the battlefield he didn't think you would be nice and help him around the lab.

If he needs an substitute for work when he needs rest you would take his place immediately for his sake.

Bumblebee

He would be a little scared of you since you beat Megatron so easily.

The moment you prove you wouldn't hurt any of the team he would be your son from now on.

You two always had each others backs.

He would love clinging on to one of your four arms.

He has any form of a problem? Don't worry you already know about it and you'll solve it.

If he would ever get hurt you would show the enemy why you hold the title as the queen/king of the battlefield

Before you arrived he used to read some datapads about you which he got from Optimus.

He would ask you to teach him how to fight.

Arcee

She would be amazed by the amount of arms you have, but won't show it until she trusts you.

Would trust you the moment you beat Megatrons aft in front of her optics, because none of the cons would dare to even poke him.

She would be grateful that you saved her and others in the Battlefield.

Would be surprised to find some old files of you and would be more shocked to read them.

You both are badass in Jack's opinion.

Since you know how awful it's to lose a partner in the team you won't question her or how untrusting she is.

If she would get hurt in the middle of a fight you would carry her with one of your hands and fight others.

Bulkhead

He would admire you and your strength. You just beat Megatron with ease!

He had heard rumours about someone like you when he was a wrecker back in Cybertron, but never believed them until now.

He always wants to go in battles with you to see how ruthless is the queen/king of the battlefields.

"pshh, show off." Could be heard anytime you and him were in the battlefield the same time.

You did start to grow on him. Suddenly you weren't so bad in fighting, suddenly you weren't such a show off, suddenly he seemed to like your presence.

Now? You two are the destructive duo.

Ratchet would be worried about you more than wheeljack.

"ouch, that just broke my spark docbot." He was definitely kicked in his aft after that.

He would go on drives with you so he could get to know you better. (Surprisingly since he's such a loner)

Smokescreen

He would run over to you the moment you walk into the base.

"YOU'RE REAL?!" apparently he has read about you before.

You wouldn't have any privacy for a week since he's like a golden retriever who clings to you 24/7

He would be flabbergasped how somebots in the team didn't trust you yet. "They're the strongest Autobot in history! Let's keep them, pleeeease!"

Like I said already. He's such a golden retriever. He needs your attention, he needs you to teach him fighting etc.

Now you're his new mom too! You got two new sons! Yippee i guess?

When he sees you in action, he has star eyes. You know when he talks about it when optimus first uses the star saber? He talks like that but even more excited!

Ultra Magnus

Has high respect for you, but would hate how reckless you can be with wheeljack.

He would give you a lecture, but it falls through deaf audio receptors.

The moment he sees you in action he would doubt you less.

He knew that you used to exist, well now that you're actually alive he can't help but feel a little bit relieved that the autobots have the upperhand.

If you would call him Sir he would let you off easier.

Was surprised when he lost his hand that you supported him best you can. He didn't think that the queen/king of the battlefields could be so soft.

Denied it when you suggested that he's your adopted grumpy son, since he's always so worried about you. (He is your son now, but doesn't let the team know)

TF: Earthspark Shockwave

Alright, here we go! The long overdue analysis of Earthspark's portrayal of Shockwave!

TRANSFORMERS: EARTHSPARK SPOILERS BELOW THE CUT!

So, right off the bat, the first thing I noticed about Earthspark's version of Shockwave, much like their Soundwave, is MUCH more emotional than previous iterations of Shockwave (MTMTE or Prime) and is maybe even much more in line with his G1 or TF:A iterations. This seems to be a recurring theme within Earthspark with some of the more historically "stoic" characters, but I'm wondering if that's intentional because it still works so well - that is to say, the representations are not inherently out-of-character, but rather moreso show off how these characters would react in specific circumstances that... previous generations have never explored before. It's FASCINATING. More on that later.

One thing that stands out to me regarding Shockwave that... does strike me as maybe a little bit odd is that in Earthspark he seems far more dedicated to the cause than to Megatron. This is Unusual in terms of how he's usually written, but also not surprising. It seems a little bit MTMTE-y because it does give off the vibes that he has his own underlying motives, which is very Shockwave-y in the sense that he almost always seems like... one step ahead of everything. But... I think Megatron switching sides was like. NOT something he planned for, and it threw him off quite badly. We can see this in the flashback scene wherein Megatron steals the Allspark from him. He doesn't, like, initially seem angry with Megatron at all, rather, he moreso expresses excitement for plans, and talks like he hopes to regain Megatron's alliance and sway him back to the Decepticons.

Megatron calls him "old friend" and says it doesn't have to be like this (obviously trying to get Shockwave to switch sides as he has with everyone so far), and Shockwave doesn't refute it he just seems very calm and also seems like he's... trying to remind Megatron of his own goals? The "you made it like this" (notice, does NOT initially call him a traitor like others have so far) and when Megatron asks why he responds, quote, "For our glory! We will conquer this planet, and resurrect our own, under Decepticon rule. With this, the Autobots will kneel before us!" The way he says these lines... it doesn't sound like they're coming from him. It literally sounds like he's using Megatron's own words and logic against him, especially the way he says "For our glory!". It just sounds like he's trying to remind Megatron of what HE himself had said in the past... kind of like "isn't it obvious? This is what you've been telling us the entire time."

I think he was halfway expecting to be able to sway Megatron back to his side by excitedly revealing his project. The way he says "It will end" almost sounds, like... comforting? Like he's trying to reassure Megatron like, I understand! You're tired of fighting! But look what I made for you, we won't have to fight anymore. He doesn't attack Megatron, he doesn't seem aggressive with the reveal beyond raising his voice - but it doesn't sound angry it sounds like. Triumphant! It sounds almost like he wanted Megatron to be proud of him? Of what he had accomplished in the name of the Decepticons, of giving them a tool to end the war... and he seemed genuinely surprised when Megatron betrayed him by hitting him. Like he genuinely wasn't... expecting that. Listen to the way he says Megatron's name after being shoved in the cryo-chamber... he's confused, desperate. Doesn't understand why Megatron isn't... listening to reason? He calls him a traitor only after Megatron approaches and activates the cryo chamber - once it's obvious what Megatron is going to do. And THIS is where you can hear anger in his voice - a tone/bitterness that just wasn't present before. And he's even MORE angry after being woken up later because he expected Megatron - his friend - to listen to reason... (but more on that later.)

The storyboards honestly give a much better view of Shockwave's expressions before being frozen and I'm actually so disappointed this wasn't portrayed as well in the final cut... He is SO expressive here and actually looks SO GENUINELY SAD. He does end in that same position, though, and it's just... it's so obvious he was meant to look and feel... surprised and sad and betrayed. The way they speak to each other during this entire scene, Shockwave's reactions to everything... I think they were very close at one point. I think their relationship may have been similar to TF:A Shockwave's sort of "anything for you, my liege" kind of deal, but switching sides? It just went against everything he knew and he truly felt like he could bring Megatron back to his senses... but when that didn't work? Shockwave was trying, but Megatron wouldn't have it. Only then did Shockwave kinda... realize that it was over. (Megatron divorced TWO people??? DAMN.)

Trust is broken. Later once he wakes up, one of the first things he does is ACCUSES Megatron of lying when he says the war is over/he's been offline for years. "Back off" is said very aggressively and angrily as he threatens moreso Megatron than anyone else with the immobilizer. It kinda looks like he didn't even... notice the Terrans are there until he accidentally grabs one (looks like he was aiming for Megs, and looks a little bit surprised and curious about what the fuck he just grabbed with the way he kinda. Tilts his head and looks at Thrash), and until Megatron explicitly brings them up. And then he's like, "Them? Just who exactly is them?" (The voice acting in this line KILLS ME!!!) He's like morbidly curious about the Terrans but also... like, jealous? And ANGRY with the way he fucking throws Thrash like he's PERSONALLY offended him. It feels like he almost deliberately harms the Terrans just to piss off Megatron, and also seems offended that Megatron not only tried to replace him, but their entire species with the Terrans. Unfortunately, Shockwave… definitely seems to think of cybertronians as superior to all other lifeforms, lmfao.

(Side note, the way he says "Abominations. Accidents of the Ember Stone." seems to imply that he like... at the very least understood what was happening, how it happened, and why it happened?? Does he know more about Terran biology and how the Ember Stone works than Megatron or the Terrans themselves? He seems to recognize what had happened and seems angry about it.)

I'm also fucking losing my mind at the way he says "You think you can just START OVER?" And "Except that you'll eventually betray them. Just like you did ME." HE'S SO FUCKING BITTER. Notice the wording, he doesn't say "Us" or "The Decepticons" he says "ME". He's 100% taking this personal. I... actually think he might not REALLY think as lowly of the Terrans as he makes it seem tbh... Shockwave should normally be fascinated by these kinds of things and see them as an opportunity, not an affront. He's a scientist, after all. I think he's actually just taking his anger out on them because he views Megatron as having replaced him with something new and better, or something he considers "experimental". The Ember Stone could have been very useful to the Decepticon cause - instead Megatron is using it against him (unintentionally but Shockwave views it as just another betrayal).

He almost seems to hesitate after shooting Megatron at first like. Oh man. Did I really do that? Like he moreso shot him impulsively out of anger... Then tries to use the immobilizer when Megatron starts to get up to avoid fighting him altogether, but misses and hits the Terrans instead (again...). Which, seems to make him realize that, okay, Megatron is definitely gonna retaliate now... so he keeps attacking until Megatron hits him. If he were actually trying to fight/hurt Megatron, he wouldn't just stand there and wait for Megatron to catch up - he knows how Megatron fights, and taking a full force punch by the dude is not wise. If he wanted to fight at first, he would've blown up his lab as his first point of order. Instead, he only does it after Megatron hits him and he loses the immobilizer. Now it's serious. Now we're fighting.

"The war continues so long as I stand to oppose you." Makes it sound like he's aiming for a new leadership position, or to continue the war? But at the same time, "Let's go out with fireworks" seems to imply that he's going to take both of them down. The like "I know I'm going down but I'm taking you with me" mindset? Like he's not confident in his own abilities as a fighter? But at the same time he totally whoops Megatron's ass and displays some extremely intuitive and skilled fighting - like he's confidently on par with Megs in terms of combat ability. (Also wtf is his alt mode? It looks like a really weird mobile anti-aircraft weapon.)

The way he talks and fights almost makes it seem like he had a sudden change of heart and realized - after Megs punched him - that he's so angry he wants nothing more than to hurt Megatron, even at his own expense and destruction. Does he feel like he has nothing left to lose with the war gone, Megatron on a different side, the space bridge destroyed, and the Terrans to replace him? This doesn't feel like it's about the war, otherwise he wouldn't be so self destructive. This feels like it's JUST about Megatron. Which is even more backed up by the fact that he keeps shooting Megatron when he's already down and laughs about it, later saying "You brought this on yourself Megatron." He just wants to hurt Megatron as much and as badly as Megatron hurt him. He's on a revenge trip. He doesn't even care about the humans or Terrans anymore, otherwise he'd have shot Mo on sight. Instead he actually gives her a choice, telling her to leave, "or perish with the traitor." He doesn't really care about destroying the humans. Just Megatron... and then he gets fucking frozen so... rip!! He was so angry he hadn't even realized that Megs had grabbed the immobilizer - which is a convenient way to end the fight from, you know, a plot-perspective, but it also seems slightly OOC unless he was just... extremely distracted by his own anger/destructive motivations. (And Mo.)

I think, given the massive breakout in Hashtag's episode (in which it isn't... explicitly clear whether they got everyone back in their cells), he might eventually reunite with/get saved by Starscream and/or Soundwave... which is just gonna lead to chaoooss. I also think... Soundwave and Shockwave will end up getting along super well and lowkey bond over their mutual breakup with Megatron skdhjssjms... They're both expressing far more emotions than in previous iterations, both obviously hurt and bitter and taking the betrayal super personally... and they're just... alike in mind and motivation. I'd like to see them team up in future episodes. (The wavewave in me is SCREAMING)

Aaanyways, that's all I've got for you!! This post got WAY too long way too fast, but I'm really excited to see what's coming next!! I absolutely LOVE this portrayal of Shockwave, tbh, and I have so many questions. What happens from here? Is he going to get unfrozen? Rebuild the space bridge? Restart the war? Rise to a leadership position to oppose Megatron? He feels so driven by anger than by his usual motivations, I'd love to see him struggle with himself and his own feelings given everything that's happened... he's usually so sure of himself, and plans everything perfectly to a T. But how could he ever plan for something like this? Will he let himself pick up the pieces and move on, or is he going to be consumed by his own self-perceived failures?

Hello! I wanted to request a fluff with Megatron, Soundwave, Knockout! I thought maybe it would be cute if the decepticons reacted to their human being a caring loving mother figure that they probably never had.

Telling the bots to be careful and give them loving hugs whenever the person enters a room (well tries to hug but you get it)

They always give the decepticons head pats whenever the human can and praises them for their work in a soothing way. Just them being treated with the love they deserved for all this time!

Extra (you dont have to): if some mechs get fed up with the human and tries to get rid of them and the human gets taking out the ship and back to earth. Oh goodness when the decepticons find out that their human is missing òw��. Also I know I didnt add a lot of characters, only three. But if you feel like it you can add whoever you want!

The decepticons reacting to their human being a caring loving mother figure

Warnings: maybe a slightest bit of angst and low self esteem

Mostly fluff

I wrote it in a platonic way

Megatron:

- at first he would be very very stiff about you showing him that kind of love and he would probably try to stop you.

- He wouldn't want the other Decepticons to see him as weak because a human cares for him and also, he would worry that you're only doing it to find a weak spot to hurt him. To many people betrayed him already to trust so easily.

- He isn’t used to kind words or innocent touches, so to have someone like you, it would drive him nuts especially because you are human.

- He wouldn’t say he loves your words of affection, your smile and your look in your eyes when you compliment him, when you praise him, when you hug him or when you just cuddle with him, but in fact he does.

- Although he can’t really understand why you’re doing this, why you’re being all that nice to him, cause he sees himself as monster and he knows besides you everybody does that too.

- Whenever he’s feeling down or he’s scared he comes to you, wanting you to pet his head and telling him how proud you are.

- You’re always there when he leaves the ship no matter the time, no matter the reason for him to leave, telling him to be careful.

- Every time he would pick you up, raising you up to his faceplate and promising you to come back alive and healthy.

- The moment he’s back on the nemesis, you’re there to welcome him back and asking him if he’s okay.

- The way you cares for him would warm his ice cold heart everytime

- Your definitely the person he trusts the most and means the most to him.

- He would do anything to keep you save and healthy, no matter the cost

Extra

- Every bot on the nemesis would know that Megatron and you, a human, are very close and that he became soft over the time, or at least, he became soft around you and some of them would hate you for that.

- So some of the bot would plan to snatch you away while megatron is away doing god knows what

- He immediately knows something is clearly wrong when you’re not there to welcome him

- The first thing he does is to look in your room and surprise, you’re not there.

- after that he contacts soundwave to find you, and after soundwave tells him there’s no “human” signal on the nemesis he’s scared shitless

- He knows your not able to get off the nemesis on your own, and he knows since you’re an allay of the decepticons it would be pretty dangerous too to go back to earth without him.

- The only ones who are authorized to take care of you are Soundwave, Shockwave and Knockout so if neither has take you to earth he knows someone took you.

- With soundwaves help he would find the traitors pretty quick

- He would do anything to get you back and the moments he finds you and the bot who took you, he sees red.

-After that you both would comfort each other and believe me when I’m saying something like that would never ever happen again

Soundwave:

- Same as Megatron he would be stiff about that kind of affection at first.

- He would ask himself a lot of questions, like, why are you so nice to him, why all those hugs and loving word’s. He wouldn’t understand you the slightest bit.

- You’re a human, why do you care for him? He’s just a bot, nothing else.

- He would get attached to it pretty fast though

- most of the time he’s on the nemesis, doing nothing but work, so to have you, praising him, cuddling him and petting his head after his duty’s are fulfilled, means everything to him

- He knows your mothering him and he’s done some research on why you’re doing this and if every human does that.

- He absolutely adores it that you care for him, that you ask him how he’s doing, that you hug him when he’s stressed and that you ask him to be careful when it happens that he has to leave the nemesis

- He doesn’t care if some other bot thinks he’s weak, he knows he is not and he also thinks that you’re not weak like some others say. In his optics you’re the strongest and most caring human that exists.

- You’re a role model for him, even though he’s so much older than you and knows like everything, cause even if he’s a huge war criminal who could easily crush you, you never feared him nor did you ever insult him.

-He likes to give you head pats too, just to show you without using his words that you mean everything to him

-because you mean so much to him, one of his little cassettes would always be by your side and would protect you.

Extra:

- As mentioned he rarely leaves the nemesis and if he does, one of his little cassettes watches over you

- So the moment his cassette sends a sos signal to him, he’s on his way to you

- Whoever the bot is that tries to steal you from him, his end is near

- Soundwave would be on his ass the moment he’s leaving the nemesis with you

- Give him lots of love, attention and praise cause he would need that after multiple spark attacks

Knockout:

- He's the one who would be the quickest to accept this new found affection

- Your praise, your kind words, the sweet pats on his head, the innocent hugs and the love you’re showing him would mean so much to him

- You’re his rock, his family, you mean everything to him and he’s willing to show you that you’re his family

- Not like the others, he wouldn’t ask himself why you’re so nice to him, he would simply accept and enjoy it. Way to many years filled with betray and war that he’s letting his chance of having someone like you in his life go

- He would ask you for physical affection all the time, like head pats or a hug cause his kind is just like the humans, it needs that kind of affection.

- He purr’s (only if you’re alone with him)

- Every time he leaves the nemesis you’re there to say goodbye to him, to wish him luck and to tell him to care of himself.

- You’re the only reasons he likes to go back to the nemesis, cause he knows you’re there waiting for him

- To welcome him, to tell him he did a good job, to be there for him.

Extra:

- He loves street racings and even though he knows your worried about him, he likes to go out and attend street races (mostly because every time he comes home, you’re waiting for him. Asking him if he was okay and giving him affection)

- So to come back to the nemesis and it seems you’re nowhere to be found he would be panicking.

- He knows a lot of the other bot doesn’t like humans so he would immediately try to find you (together with breakdown)

- In the end he would ask soundwave to help him to find you and together they would find you somewhere in the desert.

- After you’re back on the nemesis he would need a lot affection and words, cause he’s sure he had over ten spark attacks while you were nowhere to be found.

I’m sorry that the Knockout one is so short 🙏

MTMTE Ratchet, Drift, Rodimus, and Megatron helping you recover from top surgery.

Reader is transgender (ftm/ftn). Any pronouns are neutral. You can interpret this as romantic or platonic, though I drifted more romantic for some interactions. I might do more characters later!

(Also not super important but I like to think reader has some way of ‘mass shifting’ themselves on on the LL so they are not a tiny creature running around, unless you like that, lol.)

Crack/Fluff!!

Ratchet:

He did his homework. He knows so much about the procedure by now that he could have done it himself.

What he doesn’t understand is why such a life-saving surgery is so bloody expensive.

No, seriously, why did it cost you 10,000 dollars? Do humans not have healthcare?

He would have done it for free, because he cares about you, but Ratchet understands it’s best you’re surrounded by human doctors in case something goes awry.

Ratchet is PREPARED when you come back disoriented and sore. He’s got a private room in his med-bay ready just for you.

It has everything; dry hair shampoo, oversized clothing, powdered deodorant, wedge/pregnancy pillows… so much.

He even has extra medication for you just in case.

Don’t ask how he got a hold of all of this. (It might have involved some stealing.)

He is incredibly gentle when he helps you. You feel so much better after he checks in on you.

Ratchet can’t believe how brave you are. Despite the pain you know you were going to go through, you still chose this. The right, albeit difficult, choice.

He’s proud.

Drift:

He would have helped you pay for the procedure if he could. 10k in human currency is nothing to him.

Drift could’ve been your gender-affirming alien sugar daddy.

You told him that they wouldn’t accept any type of alien money.

They might think it’s cryptocurrency.

Drift didn’t quite understand how invasive the surgery was until Ratchet explained it to him.

His jaw drops. He can’t believe how fucking strong you are.

Drift intensely empathizes with the pain. He’s had some life-threatening injuries with recoveries just as long.

He doesn’t think any of them come close to this though. Humans are a hundred times more fragile and you’re CHOOSING this?

He gives a lots of forehead kisses. You actually think it speeds the process. (You’re just gay.)

You have Ratchet, but Drift is like a second nurse whenever he visits. Which is often.

And of course, there are the mandatory healing crystals he leaves beside your medberth.

They’re pretty. They help distract you.

Plus, he leaves the best ‘Get Better’ notes.

Rodimus:

When you tell him you are getting surgery he panics a little. He doesn’t want his best friend to die!

He asks if you have cancer.

You have to calm him down and explain the TYPE of surgery you are gonna get.

He immediately relaxes, and when you ask why he thought you might have cancer he shrugs.

Rodimus has no idea what cancer is.

But he’s super happy for you!!!

He does his own ‘research’ (aka, just ask Ratchet) and has the same reaction as Drift.

There is so much bravery inside such a tiny human!!

You might also be the entire reason why the Lost Light is staying on Earth for a few months.

Which actually is not so bad. Some bots are happy to be on Earth again.

The government isn’t so happy about it, but it works itself out.

Rodimus may or may not have told them why they are here.

You get a congratulations note from the fucking President later and you are so confused???

He loves to help you reach for stuff on shelves now. It’s been weeks now and he is still doing it.

Flameboy misses cuddling with you until you are well enough again.

But then you have a giant 4 hour napping session with him once you are.

It was worth the wait.

Megatron:

Megatron is angry once he hears how much you had to pay for such an important procedure.

He wants to speak to the president.

He lets you vent about how cruddy trans healthcare is, in general, all over the world. It’s not much better anywhere else.

Instead of Rodimus he actually does research.

The concept of ‘gender’ has always left a somewhat bitter taste on his glossa, but he’d be lying if he didn’t find the literature of queer folk interesting.

Megatron is now a gender abolitionist and trans activist.

He gives you a giant, sappy hug before you leave.

When you get back he’s upset he can’t give you the physical comfort you look like you need.

He is very patient though.

If it’s not Ratchet doing it, he makes sure you are taking your meds on time.

Despite his squeamishness when it comes to some functions of the human body he insists on helping you clean yourself.

He wants to keep you as comfortable as possible. (And not stinky. No offense. He loves you.)

Megatron is proud. Look at you. Even during recovery you seem happier.

He’s definitely not writing poetry about it. (He’s already written three by the time you fully recover.)

You get another cuddle session from Megatron once you’re ready for it.

Megatron is secretly a giant teddy bear.

Moment

After the final battle in Transformers: The Last Knight Optimus prime finds an injured Megatron and rests besides him.

Optimus smiled, the moment he cherished with Megatron was truly unforgettable.

Yet it also broke his spark to watch his beloved warlord leave him.

Optimus looked outside the window of their 'Autobot Ship' he remembered the moment vividly.

After the final battle he walked to a nearby forest in hopes he would find Day Trader—he didn't want to leave anyone behind— then he saw him, his lord high protector.

Megatron looked so weak and helpless.

Which would have been a perfect time to kill him.

To finish him.

To end it all

Yet a part of him couldn't do it.

“Why do I hesitate now? All those eons fighting a never ending war, millenniums of chasing eachother in an endless loop, centuries of murder and bloodshed, decades of hatred. Yet it only took a moment to take a glimpse of you just to convince me to show you some mercy.”

He sat next to him for a while, it was pretty awkward with them only staring at eachother then looking away.

His arm was ripped off and the energon dripping off it had dried up. His body was completely dented and was barely in one piece.

A hint of regret and sorrow washed over him.

"Prime.." Megatron muttered breaking the silence. “Why do you just sit there?”

“Could you be more specific?” the Autobot leader asked.

“You know what I mean.” he snapped and stared at him straight in the optics “Why would you just sit there and stay? Why don't you just end this again? Why don't you-” he cut himself off and sighed.

“Even I do not know why.” he replied softly “But I do not wish for this this to be like the other times. I do not wish for you to die again thinking I still despise you.”

Megatron's optics soften, a rare vulnerability creeping into his expression “You... surprise me, Optimus. I never thought I would see the day when you would show me even an ounce of kindness again.”

Optimus lightly chuckled "Perhaps...."

Then he frowned "Megatron, have you ever wondered what would happen, had we never....well started the war in the first place? Had we...I been more supportive to you would all this have happen? Had-”

"Don't mourn the past Optimus." The ex-warlord intrupted "We can't change the past. And it's not your fault, I got envious and my rage caused me to be blind. So if anyone were to be blamed it has to be me."

Optimus looked down he felt so much grief, sorrow and regret it was so complicated.

'' I suppose you're right." He smiled again "To be fair we did had a good time, when we used to rule Cybertron together. 'One fair one firm remember?'"

"I remembered." He replied. He was beginning to look even more tired.

"And yet, here we are," Megatron said softly. "I've failed in my quest for power, and you've stepped up to fill the void." He closed his optics for a moment, gathering strength.

"Let's not talk about the tragedy of the past, Megatron ." Optimus said trying to stay calm.

"I am proud of you, optimus," he whispered. "Despite everything, you have remained committed to peace and justice." A tear almost slipped from his optic. "Please... promise me you will continue that legacy."

"I promise." He smiled brightly.

For once he did not see the cold and violent Optimus prime, but instead he saw his Optimus. The mech who was innocent and meek, the mech who chose peace over violence. He regretted how he took that mech away.

Megatron's optics felt heavier, he felt so damn tired all of a sudden, his systems had already failed him. He tried to take one last glimpse of his Prime, he listened to his voice carefully. Knowing it was the last time he would see him.

Optimus felt a faint pulse from within Megatron's body. It was weak, but it was there.

"You did well, Optimus," he whispered. "Keep fighting for what's right." Megatron felt his spark fade, and with it, all the pain and suffering he had endured.

The conversation between Optimus and Megatron was over. Megatron no longer possessed the strength to communicate. His body lay still, but within it, his spark continued its eternal journey, finally at rest.

In that moment, he was finally at peace.

Optimus stayed close to him for a while trying to not look so sorrowful. He remembered Megatron telling him back on cybertron on how he hated seeing him so sad.

It hurted his spark so much.

He stayed there until all the warmth of Megatron's body faded away.

He wanted to stay there forever, he wanted to die alongside him. The mech he cared about the most. But he had people to look after.

'Promise me you will continue that legacy.'

His words kept ringing in his ear.

Optimus held Megatron's hand one last time and left.

Back at his Autobot ship he now called the Ark. He walked towards the entrence only to be greeted by all his Autobots and Cade's family.

"Welcome back Optimus!" Izabelle greeted happily.

Optimus smiled back, fabricating his sadness.

The sight of his new family and Megatron's words gave him a new motivation, a new reason to fight, a new reason to rebuilt Cybertron.

He looked up at the stars and smiled. 'I promise I'll continue our legacy.' Optimus wispered.

He felt as if Megatron was smiling back at him, that was enough for Optimus.

He entered the Ark like the others, knowing that Megatron's soul will always guide him no matter what.

MTMTE Rodimus x Cybertronian!reader

Whenever danger sets afoot on the Lost Light or any other alien planet the crew makes a stop at, Rodimus is immediately looking at you with begging optics. Every time, you would sigh and know exactly what he meant.

Today was one of those cycles, the Lost Light had to make a stop at some random alien planet. According to Ultra Magnus and your significant other, the planet belonged to a bunch of techno-organics that weren't too welcoming to cybertronians. Or rather, which you learned too late, they weren't welcoming to any intruders.

"Alright, alright listen everyone! We're under attack, this planet is apparently defensive against us, but we'll be fi-" Another explosion ringed in the background. "we'll be fine!" Rodimus announced this to the whole crew, which were itching to fight or hiding within the ship.

"We're all gonna die!"

Someone in the crowd yelled, which led to more of the crew muttering to each other and doing the exact opposite of what Rodimus wanted. His optimistic smile faltered as he sighed. You were at his side, as always. You placed a servo on his shoulder in a comforting way.

"Hey, it's alright. We should go help out there though, system's scanner says they're closing in. How about we go protect the crew, yeah?" You said with a smile.

Rodimus seemed to perk up at this. Suddenly, a knowing grin crept onto his face. 3..2..1.."Does this mean...?" His striking blue optics stared down at you expectedly. There he goes. You sigh but nod your helm.

"Yes Rodimus. I'll turn into my alt mode.."

Rodimus was the only bot you trusted enough to wield you in your alt-mode, which happened to be a rather cool-looking plasma rifle. With temperatures reaching to a scorching amount, you and him easily plundered through your attackers. Techno-organics and heat don't mix well, you learned. By the end of it, the nearby location was a nasty mess. But hey, at least you protected the Lost Light in an incredibly badass way. It's not every cycle they see a femme that can turn into a rifle and melt away at her enemies. Rodimus was proud of you, to say the least. He couldn't have a better/more badass conjunx.

He still holds you as you enter the Lost Light once again, to continue on your journey before the planet's inhabitants call for backup or something.

"Can I transform back now?"

"Hmm, nope. I need to make an announcement first, remember?"

"If you drop me again, I swear to Primus Rodimus..."

He groans, you were never going to forgive for that, were you?

MTMTE Drift x Cybertronian!reader

Early on when you embarked upon the Lost Light, you had quickly befriended the third-in-command. You happened to bond over your love for bladed weapons and swords, combat in general. As you got closer, those feelings for each other grew. You were so trusting of him despite his past, despite everything. And yet...he didn't know what your alt-mode was. You had mentioned to the crew and himself that you took the form of a weapon. When asked what kind, you kinda said it depended and left it at that. It wasn't until today that he just had to know.

"Y/N, sweetspark?" You heard your conjunx ask a your side. Currently, you were both in his hab suite, reading some old cybertronian literature Drift recommended. You lifted your helm from the datapad and let out a short hm?

"I never mean to intrude, but I'd still like to see your alt-mode..." HE asked rather cautiously. To be fair, it's not that you were ashamed or anything of your alt mode. However, the mode you chose truly depended on who er...handled you during combat. You have been with Drift for a while, you decided it wouldn't hurt to trust him enough for this. So you sat up from your spot and placed the datapad down.

"Okay, okay Drift. Here we go.."

Your alt-mode depended on your conjunx, gears and metal turned into place as your t-cog worked out its form. Not a second later you fell into Drift's servos, his optics widened as you finished transforming. He thought you were a sniper rifle or some type of gun, he never imagined you transforming into a beautiful and intricate blade. And there you were, on his servos. He would so much compare you to the Great Sword, powerful and he would give his absolute spark to you.

He'll admit, it's a bit trippy to be with a talking sword but he wouldn't change it for a thing. A soft smile made its way onto his face

"Thank you, Y/N."

Can I get headcanons for tfp Megatron, for how he would be as a father to a Cybertronian? Megatron is pretty ruthless regardless of which show or movie he is in. So I was wondering how he would be twords his own biological child? Any special treatment or no?

I think that Megatron is, considering his past, to everyone cold and acts like the only thing he can feel is rage

Everyone except his Sparkling

He expects to be stabbed in the back by everyone but them because they are his blood

He build a wall to block anything that doesn't bring him forward, even before the war while things began to get shitty, and it's the same now but he won't be as cold towards his Sparkling

When others are there he will still show the Sparkling that he loves them but also keeps up the facade of the bitter and dangerous warlord he is

He's gotta keep his reputation

And he teaches them that this is the best way to live, or rather survive, because he came so far with this technique and he wants them to be like him

He also can't bear the thought that they get hurt in any way because he didn't prepare them for this universe

He will teach them everything he learned and will pressure them even about it, but not too much only enough to make them understand that this is necessary

When no one is there though he seems like a different bot; he will tell them how proud he is of them and that they will soon be as powerful as he is, he will on the rare occasion even read a poem to them or even sing them a short lullaby (beautiful voice btw.)

Just because he is a warlord doesn't mean he always thinks about bloodshed, he still has, or rather had, hobbies and before the war he was more than just a gladiator, he was also a bit interested in literature

The Sparkling also gives him a little inspiration for poems he writes them to make their cycle better and/or to help them sleep

The Sparkling obviously changed the warlord, even if he won't say it ever out loud because he straight up refuses that he would get 'weaker'

Some habits won't ever end I guess

I don't have too much context on the Aligned books, but a part of me thinks that the reason why the Decepticons in TFP are a bit more hesitant to actually accept Starscream as a leader (an official one when Megatron was found comatose rather than a temporary one while Megatron was soul searching) is because of his status of being forged and alloted as a military bot, whether it's seeker high command or what.

The Decepticons in Aligned started because Megatron was a charismatic gladiator from the pits of Kaon, speeches like poetry and ideology loud and proud. A lot of mecha see him as the face of the 'Cons (despite their symbol being clearly Soundwave's face) even if Megatron's grasp on tactics had to be learned in a fight never flight scenario that the pits put him through. When it comes to being a functional leader, Megatron barely knows anything and is leading by being essentially a figurehead though if you brought that up he'd slay you the instant you spoke, which would probably be the reason WHY Megatron insists of having Starscream be his Second in Command despite all his treachery.

The Decepticons feel that they NEED Megatron, for having anyone else be in charge would feel like hypocrisy, the closest anyone would ever get to being a leader based purely on being a model Decepticon would probably be a Vehicon which well... 1) they'd have to outclass Megatron's very impressive charisma, and 2) Vehicons don't have the best eh track record of being treated well. And seeing that Megatron NEEDS a competent Second in Command, competent enough to plan out strategies he wasn't forged (or constructed) to train in, the second element in play perhaps is the satisfaction of being of higher rank than a military bot. And I'm not pulling that shitty 'exotic bird' seeker shit in here, seekers aren't an entirely different species or worse a fucking animal species (it's a job, it's a rank, it's a role, etc), but who wouldn't feel even a remote sense of accomplishment, glee, whatever at having to fight tooth and nail to get to the very top of something and having someone that didn't have to work hard to be good under your command?

And that shit pisses of Starscream so fucking bad.

As the SiC, Starscream can preen all he likes about suggested strategies and pathways and general other management duties of an entire army (or at least to the sphere of influence the Nemesis holds), but it is Megatron with the final word. Like a rich idiot CEO flaunting their power and kicking dirt into their adviser's eyes, Megatron still has the mindset of a gladiator, has only the experience of a gladiator that Starscream gawks in horror at. To be fair, in combat (even in minor activities like fencing and mind combat like chess) you fear the amateur that knows no opening strategies for if the beginner has no strategy how can you outplay them, but that would only work up until a certain extent. Sometimes games of combat last near forever, a complicated battle between winning and losing of micromanaging fleets and squads to correctly combat the enemy, other times you make a fatal error, exposing your weak spot and cringing as the knife sinks deep.

If Starscream ever were to permanently take over the Decepticons as their leader, he would have far more foresight in planning - as evident by his competence at the beginning of TFP whereby he, the entire Nemesis, and their mining operations went undiscovered for years - and probably needle the Autobots with far less casualties between engaging and victory. However, he from his background is not representative of the Decepticons, for he came from something. Starscream did not battle his way to the top, not in the same way Megatron had to in the pits, nor did he battle his way into the Decepticons, he from memory was purposefully sought after. Hell, given his tendancies as SiC already giving Starscream a bad rep with many a 'Con, Starscream isn't as... not liked (Megatron would hardly be considered 'likeable') but... compelling, as grandiose of a leader as Megatron had built himself to perfectly appeal to an audience.

They need each other to rule, and the saddest part of TFP and it's characterisation is that statement is inherently contradictory. Neither can stand being in the same room as the other, there is a significant power imbalance between the two and frankly? Their mutual dysfunction working with one another is detrimental to the effectiveness of the Decepticon High Command.

As it is in canon, it's eh not the easiest to watch. Megatron makes the dumbest decisions and Starscream has to pull a plan out of his ass to make it better, or Starscream gets over ambitious and Megatron feels threatened and sets everything back to the status quo in the way a gladiator does.

I think that it might've been cool, interesting maybe, if the Megatron and Starscream had a more balanced dynamic. Megatron cannot have a Second in Command that doesn't know what they're doing, cannot have one that doesn't take initiative and seize the moment; Soundwave isn't a military bot, Airachnid's impulse is to run away to try again. Starscream cannot hold an audience, he cannot inspire troops with a rags to riches story he himself does not have; Vehicons have less power in their voice fresh off the assembly line, they are the people Megatron inspires.

Maybe in some universe where the Decepticons are more akin to a fucked up family, this could be... something better. idk... I just think it's interesting.

Elita One's twin sister with SG Blackarachnia's personality reuniting with Optimus Prime

SFW, Angst, some hurt, some comfort, Cybertronian (Techno Organic) reader

part 1

While Buddy had made a name for herself amongst the Decepticons, the three Autobots who made it back to Cybertron took a different turn.

Optimus wracked with guilt, took the fall for the entire situation

He was stripped from the academy and placed on spacebridge repairs. Filled with guilt over loosing his best friend which was another factor in his ability to make decisions.

He would constantly play the scene over and over again in his mind think of all the ‘what if’s’ and ‘should haves’.

Elita One and Sentinel only continued on their training and made it to the Elite Guard.

Sentinel held much resentment and anger whenever Buddy was mentioned. He missed his friend dearly but his anger was placed squarely on Optimus and would remain until then.

Elita for some time was a hollow shell of the bot she used to be

She couldn’t stop thinking about her final moments with Buddy and her last actions.

Buddy’s last actions to save her twin.

Buddy chose her life over herself.

Elita eventually pushed down the feelings and began focusing on the Guard to cope with the loss.

Time skip of Team Prime being on Earth

Buddy knew of the existence of the Autobots on Earth. She knew well that Optimus was their leader. Despite a part of her being proud of her friend leading a team, and leading them well in battle, she didn’t want to see him. Maybe in the future, but now, she wasn’t ready to ‘face the music’ as the locals said.

Anyways she had other problems to worry about.

The makeshift med bay was running low on steel. With the number of injuries everyone was getting was running the reserves dry. So, it was time to go scavenging for more materials.

“Where are you going?”--Megatron

“A steel run. Nothing special my lord.”--Buddy

“I can send Lugnut or Blitzwing to get the steel. You don’t need to go out of the base. You’re needed here on base as our medic.”--Megatron

“Blitzwing is in the medbay and needs the steel along with everyone else on base. Without him, Lugnut is most likely to bring the steel in so many pieces they will look like rust. I’m useless here. I know a place where I can get enough steel to get in and out of there quickly.”--Buddy

“Do not say that.”--Megatron

“Don’t worry my Lord. It’s by the docks and should be fairly quick to get everything. Though I should probably stop saying tht it will be easy so I don’t jinx it—”--Buddy

“Not that. You called yourself useless. You are many things but useless is not one of them.”--Megatron

“… And what do you mean by that my Lord?”--Buddy

“I mean—”--Megatron

“Lord Megatron! Hothead started a fight with Lugnut—”--Starscream

BANG!

“…”—Starscream, Megatron, and Buddy

“I believe that is my cue to leave. Good luck with the clean up!”--Buddy

Buddy made it to the docks and began digging around for any spare beams. She didn’t like dealing with humans too much and causing too much trouble. They have their own lives and troubles to worry about, they don’t need her on the list too.

“Finally! The last beam and I’m outta here!”--Buddy

“Achoo!”—Sari

Buddy looks down to see Sari standing there looking up at her.

“I just had to jinx it…”—Buddy

Sari didn’t know what to do.

She was just trick or treating with Bumblebee and Bulkhead when she heard some noise coming from one of the warehouses nearby and gave the guys a bit of a slip as she went ahead to investigate.

Sari and Buddy were just looking at each other for a bit.

“Umm… hello?”--Buddy

“What’s your name?”--Sari

“Oh? My name is Buddy. I know I look a little scary but, I’m not going to hurt you.”--Buddy

“Yeah, I can tell. You don’t look threatening or anything. Weird looking from the other Bots’ but definitely not scary.”--Sari

“…really?”--Buddy

“Nope! Sure, some things look kind of weird but not scary. What are you doing with those steel beams? You’re not stealing them are you?”--Sari

“…In my defense I’m taking from the pile that ordered more than what they needed. I need them for my med kits.”--Buddy

“Oh! You should talk to Ratchet about those! Hey, You can come with me!”--Sari

“I’m sorry…”--Buddy

“I’m Sari.”--Sari

“Oh? Peculiar little name… it suites you.”--Buddy

“Thanks—you’re a Decepticon!?”--Sari

“Yes I am but—”--Buddy

“Sari!”--Bumblebee

“This night keeps getting better…”--Buddy

That was when Bumblebee and Bulkhead entered.

Buddy was immediately on edge sizing up her potential enemies. She really didn’t want to use her ‘gift’ if she didn’t need to.

Buddy tried explaining to the bots that she didn’t want to fight them.

But apparently, they did.

“Reach for the sky Decepticreep!”--Bumblebee

“Listen, I’m not here for a fight—”--Bulkhead

“To bad! This is for trying to hurt Sari!”--Bulkhead

“I didn’t even—WOAH!”--Buddy

“Bulkhead! Bumblebee!”--Sari

“Don’t worry Sari get Prime online and tell him we got a rouge Con.”--Bumblebee

“That’s my cue to leave. Bye Sari! See ya later boys!”--Buddy

“Oh no you don’t”--Bulkhead

Buddy dodged and ducked all of the boys attacks the best she could while handling the beams on her back. She was about to web herself away to the skylight when the big one, Bulkhead she thinks the name was, hit one of the support beams on the warehouse causing a huge chunk on the ceiling to fall straight onto Sari.

“SARI!”—Bumblebee and Bulkhead

Buddy webbing Sari and booking it.

“Hey! Let me go!”--Sari

“SARI!”--Bumblebee

“GET BACK HERE!”--Bulkhead

“This wasn’t the plan! This wasn’t the plan! This wasn’t the plan!”—Buddy

Now Buddy did plan on putting the human down as soon as she was out of the warehouse, but apparently the boys weren’t going to let Buddy stop. And there was no way that Buddy was going to let the little one down in a potentially dangerous area.

“Put Me Down!”--Sari

“You want me to put you down here midair over your cities busy streets?!”--Buddy

“Well not here, here.”--Sari

“When I see a safe spot I’ll drop you off so you can go on with your life, but right now your safest option is with me kid.”--Buddy

“Tell that to them! It looks like your kidnapping me!”--Sari

“I know it does kid! I know!”--Buddy

Buddy was swinging her way above the roofs of the giant buildings when she felt something huge force ram into her side causing her to tumble down on the roof below.

She made sure that Sari was tucked away safely so the fall would hurt her.

“You okay kid?”--Buddy

“Yeah… you’re pretty nice for a Con.”--Sari

“Yeah—”--Buddy

“Servos where I can see them!”--Optimus

“…”--Buddy

“Optimus!”--Sari

“Let the human go and get up slowly Decepticon.”--Optimus

“…”--Buddy

There in all his glory was Optimus with his axe in his servos and wearing a determined look on his faceplate.

Slowly Buddy placed Sari down on the ground as she sent a sos message to any Con nearby to pick her up. Apparently, she stood up too quickly because the axe was coming closer and closer.

Buddy wanted to scream and yell that Optimus that it was her. She wanted to say something, anything, but her voice box didn’t seem to work too choked up with emotions that were buried and painful flashbacks.

She did her best to evade every strike which as it turned out not to be too hard. Optimus was always one to copy his fighting moves directly from the textbooks.

Sari did try to explain the situation to Prime but it didn’t help the way she phrased some of the things.

And the fact that he didn’t know who she was. To him, she was simply a weirdly colored Con that was stealing from a human business.

Then next thing Buddy knew she was on the ground with Optimus above her ready to strike, a strike to wound not kill, something Buddy was thankful for.

But that’s when Buddy’s voice box decided to work as a last effort way to stop him.

“Times up Decepticon!”--Optimus

“Optimus Stop!”--Buddy

The axe was a couple of inches from her when it stopped.

Optimus paused a bit, giving Buddy enough time to roll out of his grasp and putting some space between the two.

“How do you know my name?”--Optimus

“…I’d be a pretty crummy friend if I didn’t know my best friends name.”--Buddy

“…Buddy?”--Optimus

“Hey Prime.”--Buddy

“But how? You weren’t… your signal… we looked for you—”--Optimus

“Apparently you didn’t look hard enough Prime. Those spiders found me quicker than you three did. And now… and now that doesn’t matter anymore.”--Buddy

“We searched for you Buddy! The scans didn’t read anything—”--Optimus

“Prime drop it.”--Buddy

Wait, your part organic now—”--Optimus

“Optimus stop it.”--Buddy

“That’s why the scanners didn’t read that you were still there! We have to tell—”--Optimus

“We are not telling anyone about anything!”--Buddy

“What?! What about Sentinel? Do you think he doesn’t deserve the right to know what happened to you? What about Elit—”--Optimus

“QUIET!”--Buddy

“…”--Optimus

“I’m not heading to Cybertron so they can just dissect me on a cold lab table.”--Buddy

“We won’t let that happen Buddy. I won’t let that happen to you. I promise that.”--Optimus

“Don’t do that Prime.”--Buddy

“Don’t make promises that you can’t keep.”--Buddy

“And what have you go back to the Decepticons?”--Optimus

“Yes.”—Buddy

Buddy needed to leave.

Buddy had never been more overjoyed to hear Lugnut’s engines than what she did at that moment. Before the Prime could ask any more questions Buddy swung her webs at the aircraft as it took her away from the roof tops below.

She climbed into the open back and closed it shut.

“How did the mission go? You pressed the sos for air support I assumed you found more steel—”--Lugnut

“Lugnut… Just… just get us back to the base…”--Buddy

“… Should I alert Lord Megatron of our arrival?”--Lugnut

“…Sure, Big guy. You do that.”—Buddy

When they arrived to the base Buddy still didn’t want to get out. She doesn’t want to face everyone else, not now.

Blitzwing is the one who carries Buddy out and goes to the medbay.

Starscream grabs the rest of the steel beams and heads to the medbay.

Lugnut transformed to get Megatron.

“Lord Megatron!”--Lugnut

“Yes Lugnut. Did Buddy return from the mission?”--Megatron

“Yes, a successful mission, but she did have a run in with some of the Autobots.”--Lugnut

“She what?”--Megatron

“She had a run in with some of the Autobots Lord Megatron—Lord Megatron?!”--Lugnut

Megatron hurrying to the medbay.

Blitzwing sets Buddy on the med slab and starts inspecting for any injuries as Starscream was complaining about putting the steel in its correct place.

“Boys, I’m fine.”--Buddy

“That’s what I’ve been trying to tell him.”--Starscream

“Shush!”--Icy

“Icy, really this isn’t necessary. Anyways you’re the one who needs the patch job.”--Buddy

“Something clearly happened. You didn’t want to get out of Lugnut.”--Icy

“And that never happens!”--Hothead

“Were you playing peek-a-boo!”--Random

“Its just been a long day that’s all.”--Buddy

Enter Megatron

“Leave us.”—Megatron

Once everyone had left the room, Megatron sat down beside Buddy. A silence fell over them. After a bit, he asked what happened.

Buddy couldn’t hold it in. She told him almost everything that happened, Buddy still refused to give away the names of the Bots and Sari.

This irked him a bit, but at least Buddy was talking to him. He stayed next to Buddy as she told the rest of the story. Buddy tried hard to keep the coolant from spilling in front of Megatron. That was one of the last things she wanted to do.

They spilled when Megatron gently placed his servo on her shoulder and rubbed it softly. Megatron, the mighty Decepticon war lord, who had faced Death head on in the battlefield against all odds, held Buddy close to his chassis as she cried and trembled.

He promised to teach those who wronged his… friend? Whoever wronged Buddy a lesson. After all pain was a powerful teacher, and he intended on making them wise.

Meanwhile with Optimus.

Once he came back to the plant with Sari and Bumblebee and Bulkhead, he went straight to his room.

“What’s with Boss-bot?”--Bumblebee

“Don’t know?”--Bulkhead

“I think it has something to do with the new Con.”--Sari

He couldn’t believe it.

Buddy was alive!

Buddy was alive.

Buddy was a con.

A con…

And this was all his fault.

As soon as he’d get communication with Cybertron, he needed to get in contact with Elita and Sentinel.

The only thing he could do now was hope that he would cross paths with Buddy again and ask more questions on what happened to her.

And apologize to his best friend.

The friend he left behind.

tfp megatron x breakdown

Breakdown had been summoned. To the control room. Alone. Specifically, alone. And right after a mission, which, in his opinion he did not do well in. So, you could say that he was a little worried. Breakdown takes a deep vent, quickly reminded of the scuffing along his sides. It hurts, he hasn’t been able to go to the medbay.

He knocks on the door and Megatron’s voice answers. “Come in.” the grey mech quickly scans Breakdown. There’s only the two of them in the room. “You’re alone, good. You follow my orders so well, Breakdown.”

“M- My Lord, may I ask why I was summoned?” Breakdown blushes, caught off guard by the warlord’s praise.

“To be rewarded, of course.” the blue mech’s faceplates involuntary scrunch in confusion. “Come here.”

Breakdown feels like his stabilizers are made of lead as he shuffles a bit closer, only for Megatron to roughly grab his waist and pull his frame in between the warlord’s thighs. The ex-wrecker’s optics widen in surprise, the grey mech chuckles a bit.

“You did so well, Breakdown.” Megatron traces the scratches and denting on Breakdown’s chassis. “Even if you don’t think you did.”

“Lord Megatron, I didn’t do well-”

“Shh.” the warlord pressing around the dents, making Breakdown wince and whine. “While that may be true, you are one of my most valuable soldiers. I would venture to say the most valuable.”

“My Lord-”

“Just ‘Megatron’ will do.” he chimes, now tracing the scratches on his chassis trailing down his frame. Breakdown shudders.

“Megatron, I- I don’t deserve a reward.”

“Oh, but you do. My good soldier deserves a reward for being so resilient.” his servo slides lower and lower until it rests on Breakdown’s hip. “Now, open your panels, be a good bot.”

“Are- are you su-”

“I’m sure. I only want to thank you.” Breakdown hesitantly lets his panels fold away. “Sit right here, would you?” the grey mech pats his thigh, looking elsewhere to find a misplaced item. Breakdown climbs up onto his lap, spike bobbing with his movements, trying not to leave any scratches or paint transfers. “Good bot.” the blue bot lets out a hesitant breathy whine as he feels Megatron’s cold plating rub against his external node and folds. Breakdown opens his optics to see the warlord holding a small bottle of lubricant. “Lean forward for me.”

So he does, pressing the side of his helm against his lord’s shoulder plating, his faceplates facing Megatron. Breakdown blushes a bit more as his lord begins to trace the bio lights on his spike.

The lubricant on Megatron’s digits drip onto his spike, trailing down to his valve. The feeling makes him shiver. He bites his lower derma to prevent himself from making any noises.

The grey mech suddenly squeezes the base of his spike and he whimpers. A servo takes his chin, forcing him to look into Megatron’s piercing optics.

He looks… proud, almost. Protective or possessive, more like. Megatron looks very handsome like this, a slightly amused smile and caring optics on his faceplates.

He looks away from his lord, embarrassed that he had even though that his master even cared about him. Megatron frowns, moving his faceplates closer and closer until-

He’s kissing his boss. Not boss, his warlord master, he shouldn’t be doing anything remotely like this.

“I-”

“Shh.”

“But-” Megatron stops him with another kiss.

“If you want to stop, keep speaking.” Breakdown is silent, blushing, the back of his neck cables and audials heating up too. “Oh, you’re embarrassed. How cute.”

The ex-wrecker whines, once again hiding his faceplates in Megatron’s shoulder plating. Gentle digits press onto his spike, trailing up to the slit, teasing a digit tip just inside of it. Breakdown hasn’t noticed the puddle of lubricant on his lord’s thigh plating, it’s dripping onto the throne and ground below it.

Megatron starts to stroke the soldier’s spike in a quickly timed pace, Breakdown moans and thrusts into his hand, grinding his valve array onto the warlord’s lap.

His bio lights start to pulse harder and harder, his cooling fans squeal with effort to keep him at a normal temperature. Oral lubricant wets Megatron’s shoulder, dripping down his arm.

With an amused, “Good bot,” from Megatron and the built up charge, Breakdown overloads onto the warlord’s stomach plating, whining into a kiss with Megatron.

He slowly comes down from the white hot high, optics half mast and gasping into the kiss to run more and more cool air through his systems.

“So handsome.” Megatron murmurs, taking his chin again and pointing his face towards his own. “I should keep you here just to admire.”

“A-ah, I shouldn’t- I mean-” Breakdown stutters as he attempts to talk and get off of Megatron’s lap at the same time.

“Go get some rest in your habsuite. You’re welcome in mine, too. I know it’s closer than yours.” Megatron helps him off of the throne, setting him on the floor and keeping a servo on his spinal strut to make sure he doesn’t fall.

“N-no I couldn’t-” Breakdown attempts to look at the floor, but his optics catch on the warlord’s lap. There’s lubricant and transfluid smeared on his torso and stabilizer. “Can I-”

“Go on, be a good bot. I’ll clean it up myself.”

These two idiots don't know jack shit about raising a baby, but they're trying. God damn it, they're trying so hard. This feels like G1 to me, idk why. It's a G1 kind of night. You'll never convince me that G1 Megastar aren't the biggest switches. They fight snd spar and wrestle for dominance, winner gets to top, and the other one is so charged up from being manhandled they practically break the berth every night. A sparkling was never planned and by the time they realize they're going to be parents, it's too late to consider termination

Megatron is the one who ends up sparked, and while he never, ever thought being a carrier would ever be possible... he doesn't hate the idea. He really doesn't want to raise his child in the midst of wartime, but trapped on earth he doesn't have the means to put them into cryostasis when they're born. So instead, he pledges to do the best he can: so long as he's alive, no slagsucking autobot or uppity high and mighty civilian will ever put their servos on his child. This sparkling will grow up with every freedom he didn't have, they can be whatever they want to be and no one will ever speak a work of functionist pitslag to them. They'll never be anyone's property, they'll never be branded and forced to toil ceaselessly for the sake of slavedriving overlords. He won't even force them to take over his throne if they don't want to: he's not planning to kick the bucket anytime soon anyway, and he'll only retire when he's dead. If his sparkling wants to be a teacher, they cab. If they want to be an author, they can. If they want to be a sharpshooter or a spy or a general or one of his high commanders, they can. That's the finest gift he can give them, he thinks: the freedom of choice. Starscream begrudgingly agrees, as the child isn't going to be a seeker and so he can't prepare them as a future Winglord. They're not perfect and are in fact fucking crazy, but they do want the best for their little spark.

When the baby is born, they have Megatron's original alt mode, surprising no one as it was a singleton pregnancy. They're his gunmetal gray and Starscream's flashy red, truly a beautiful sparkling. Megatron is so proud, and almost nostalgic of the past: he sees so much of himself in them, full of potential but born free of Cybertron's confines. He can't wait to see what they'll become. Starscream shares the sentiment, and it's the first thing they've truly agreed on in so, so long. They're dysfunctional as hell but they both love their sparkling.

When the baby is born, Megatron is back to work within 3 days. He slows down for nothing and no one, not even birth. He's back on his throne commanding the decepticons with the newspark suckling from his pouches, Starscream for once proudly posted at his side. The seeker is walking on air, showing off to the entire airforce that he sired the first sparkling born in 4 million years. Very rarely is one of them alone with the bitty, just because their jobs overlap so much, but when they are? Starscream baby talks the little one. Coos at them about how handsome and smart and perfect they are, what a wondrous perfect little baby! Bitty eats it up, and he relishes in the way they giggle and wave their tiny servos at him. Megatron is quiet most of the time he's with them, content just to watch them babble senselessly and slowly learn about the world. At night though, every night before putdown, he whispers a solemn oath to them. "I promise to always protect you, to always be here for you, to always support you and be proud of you. I promise you a future where you're free and happy, and I promise to always stand beside you. I promise that as long as I live, no one will ever hurt you, and I promise, as l live, you'll never suffer needlessly." and he means every word. Their future is indescribably precious, it's priceless, and he'll fight with all that he has to make sure it's preserved. They won't walk the same path of misery as so many decepticons before them, and he'll tear the world apart a thousand times to guarantee that.

You know what is a really fun thing to contemplate?

Dratchet got together while soul searching and off on adventures following Empire of Stone (they definitely kissed after), but what if they never lost proud Decepticon Grit. Like they've all just had a bonding adevnture and they are slowly making there way back to Cybertron to turn him over but he's basically like a feral cat that hates them and is always around. He is suffering watching these two confess their love ("ABOUT FUCKING TIME BUT HOW ABOUT WE DEAL WITH THE SPACE VAMPIRES FIRST!?!"), he's in the background photos of their fiest date taking shots at the bar, their photo albums all show him in varying stats of "please end me" or getting in fist fights or drowning or having just the wildest shit happen while he remains pretty steady and unbothered in their orbit.

He's the only one at their wedding and has a nice three weeks on a vacation planet in the separate hotel room Drift booked for him because they couldn't just leave him. He's at the spa drinking Engex martinis and complaining on Decepticon social media about high command needing to get their shit together and get some direction and is fully convinced Megatron the Autobot is a cover and has gotten into several fist fights over it.

He's the meme of "me, my captor, and the medic turned conjunx he has been hot for for 4 mil years".

They are getting ready to drop him off but get Rodimus's distress call. They arrive on Necroworld and he helps out. He thinks Tarn is "a fucking idiot" and everyone just sort of goes with it because Drift and Ratchet have a carry on. He goes with Ravage and bodies Tarn to give his superior officer an escape chance. Megatron doesn't see that part because it cuts off and has his own gotta fight moment due to the severity of Ravage’s injuries.

He talks to Megatron and finds out "no I really have defected", nods, and while Drift is rushing forward going "nonono" proceeds to punch him straight on and yell about abandonning them and subpar leadership and everything before stomping off to go sit with Drift, Ravage, and Ratchet and basically ignore him.

Rodimus loves him.

Megatron is awkwardly circling the scoffing disdain.

Grit is suffering and still keeps showing up to Dratchet dates because "they are the only people he knows" which leads to another layer of misunderstanding that the ship has and Grit upon learning this becomes convinced by Swerve's conspiracy board and it makes him feel compelled to awkwardly sit them both down and stiffly formally try and "turn them down" as gently as possible. Ratchet just kind of chokes and Drift is laugh-sobbing too hard to get a word in.

That would be so fucking funny yes

I admit I had to look Grit up on the tfwiki because I was moderately confused

That would be so funny, he's trying he's trying but he's the ultimate unwilling third wheel, and yes yes Rodimus fucking loves the guy and Megs is just VIBING here
