I hope I’m not the only one here on your blog just for the Tokyo revengers content because I never watched Baki should i thought??

I have been very Baki focused as of late, huh? ^^; You are def not the only TokRev fan though, I assure you! My first really sizable chunk of followers came from my Taiju fic, and though I have been slacking a bit on posting anything TokRev related, I promise you much more is planned/being written currentl. A large chunk of bigger fics I am working on are actually mostly TokRev, I just wanted a lil break and so I focused on smaller stuff for a bit, and pretty much all of that happened to be Baki.

Now, as for if you should watch Baki…

Short answer: Yes! :D

Thoughtful answer: I think Baki is a very interesting take on the fighting genre, and I do highly recommend it. The saga of the Hanma family is as engrossing as it is entertaining, and there is a colorful cast of characters that support the series that you can’t help but love, hate, or love to hate. I have been kind of waiting for a Baki renaissance for a while now-I feel like other than in Japan, it really isn’t a super popular series and that’s a bit of a shame because it truly is an entertaining watch/read. The Netflix adaptation I think has helped the series a lot (and we are all grateful for it, to see our lovely boys animated so beautifully :)) and put it on the map for newer audiences to enjoy, but I definitely recommend the manga too. It’s a pretty fast read because a large chunk of it is action, but it’s pretty cool to see how Itagaki’s art has changed over the years and also how he has grown and changed as a story teller. Earlier Baki is much different than newer Baki, and some of the characters feel a bit foreign when you go back and reread some of the earlier stuff after being immersed in the newer content.

Baki also has some very bizarre and downright comical aspects as well that kind of put it on par with JJBA while making it very charming. The mangaka def adds some quirky flairs to his story telling, which while sometimes I can get a little annoyed/bored/confused with them, I feel like overall they make the experience of watching/reading the series its own unique and fun experience.

And if you love delinquents, Kaoru Hanayama is like… one of the best and coolest delinquents. If you put that man in Toman he would be running the whole gang within days and 90% of the bullshit everyone had to go through in Tokrev probs would have been resolved fairly quickly, if it even happened at all. This man would grind Kisaki to paste in the blink of an eye and I would pay to see it happen. :)

THAT ALL BEING SAID: Not everyone likes Baki, and that’s fine too. I know personally a lot of people are turned off by the art/how the characters look and honestly… That’s valid lol. I remember I once showed my friend a picture of Biscuit and her direct response was “Why does he look like he’s made out of balloons, like a clown constructed him?” LOOOL and often times if my friends mention weird body proportions in comics/manga someone inevitable asks when I am gonna chime in with a Baki manga panel. ^^; Most of the rest of my friends don’t really have any desire to partake in it though, and a few that have just really weren’t in to it. It’s very heavy on fighting and martial arts, and though the fighting is rather fantastical in a lot of cases, it (usually) doesn’t have supernatural elements or magic involved. So if that seems kind of bleh to you, you may want to avoid it.

Horny answer: Incredibly sexy men who are at least half naked a large majority of the time beating the shit out of each other is very fun, nice, and fulfilling to watch. :)

So I say give it a try if you are interested at all. At the very least, some of the fics on here may make a little more sense.

20 Questions for fic writers!

1. How many works do you have in A03? I just hit the 50 mark with my most recent oneshot!

2. What is your total word count? 285,059 and that's just the stuff I've published on ao3 I'd estimate it's closer to 350-400,000

3. What fandoms do you write for? It's all the silmarillion. that's all that exists. save me.

4. My top 5 fics by Kudos: ahh yes it's plug time:

Make You Mine (the way you should be) is an older Kidnap Fam fic featuring E & E having prophetic dreams about M & M (very fluffy)!!

All The Ways To Love is a completed russingon longfic of mine featuring an arranged marriage AU with Bad Dad Fëanor. Normally I love Fëanor but he just worked so wonderfully as a villian here lol.

The Difference Between You and I is a kidnap fam fic centering around the first night E & E spend with M & M. I love this fic so much and I'm so glad it's in my top 5!

And We Begin Again is my current WIP longfic with modern AU russingon. I am super proud of this fic and it is being updated slowly but consistantly due to the fact that I am a disaster nursing student.

Guide You Softly Slowly Towards The Light is another kidnap fam fic (very super fluffy with only a hint of angst) featuring Mae's love language being cooking/baking and lullabies.

5. Do you respond to comments? Every single one. They keep me writing and I am in debt to anyone who has ever said a nice thing about my fics. I also often take requests in the comments for what people want to see in the future chapters of long fics because ultimately I am writing a story to share!

6. Fic with the angstiest ending? OOOOH... honestly it's easily When Stars Sing, one of my favorite things I've ever written which has (imo) sinfully few reads. It made me cry while writing it and the TRSB art I wrote it for is stunningly beautiful. It's a Russingon fic (again oops) exploring Maedhros and Fingon's relationship in Beleriand.

7. Fic with the happiest ending? Perfect For Me. I am on my body diversity elves campaign and this is one of the fluffiest things I've ever written. I will def write more stuff like this whether or not there is an audience for it because it makes *me* happy.

8. Do I get hate on fics? I have indeed and it was on the ones where I have written chubby elves. Honestly, I just feel bad for the people who feel like they need to hate on bigger bodies and tell me that "you're slandering Tolkien's idea of what elves are." I simply delete and move on, so don't bother leaving them because they will not stop me from publishing what I want.

9. Do I write smut? If so what kind? I do indeed write smut. Most of it is plot relevant but I do have a few pwp oneshots. So kind of everything.

10. Do I write crossovers? Nope.

11. Have I had a fic translated? I have not but I would be beyond honored if anyone ever wanted to.

12. Have I ever co-written a fic? I did a long time ago with a friend in high school but there is nothing published that was co-written. I'd love to do it again though so if anyone wants to co-author a fic with me (ahem @last-capy-hupping, @arofili, @spiritofwhitefire I'm eyeing all of you intensely) I'd adore that.

13. All time favorite ship? Russingon. All you have to do is look at my AO3 to confirm that.

14. WIP I want to finish but don't know if I ever will? This isn't published but I have a longer Russingon fic about Valinor flirting/getting together that someday I'd like to publish but at this rate I think it might be years and probably a hundred thousand words away.

15. Writing strengths? world building and imagery because I can sit there for hours and describe a setting without adding to the plot even once.

16. Writing weaknesses: writing action scenes and arguments, I always feel like they come across choppy and unrealistic.

17. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language? I've never done it but I would be open to trying it... the closest I've gotten is writing phrases/words in Quenya and Sindarin in my fics.

18. First fandom I wrote for? I actually have no idea it might have been Percy Jackson with my classy self-insert or possibly Lord of the Rings.

19. Favorite fic I’ve written? That's hard I'm stuck between my current WIP and When Stars Sing (both linked above) although I also really love Your Face, So Sweet, another modern AU Russingon fic about adopting baby Gil-Galad.

(also, because i just love <3 Priam and Heather together so much, does Priam know about her fears? Priam's a good dude from what we know about him, but obviously we don't know all that much about him at all, actually, or the parkinsons, or what's expected of heir parkinson and his future wife. sorry it's just Priam and Heather are my favourite side characters of yours they're the side characters I'd write obscene amounts of fic about, if you get what i mean)

re: other characters' boggarts, which ones? i assume you'd be interested in priam's SO:

his boggart would def have something to do with something he created hurting someone he cares about (or his cat). priam grew up practicing a very meticulous, detail-oriented kind of dark arts that can malfunction horribly, and that fear has really seeped into him. he's careful, and he's not *anxious* about it really, but the 'what if it all goes horribly wrong and it's My Fault' has taken root as his absolute worst-case scenario.

and yes he does know about heather's fears! gotta love that communication. it's kind of a difficult line to walk for both of them in terms of like. public perception? because priam is going to eventually be the head of the parkinson family, like, flat-out. there's no getting around that - at least, not with any degree of ease.

but that doesn't mean heather has to vanish into being his wife (and when they've discussed this, it has generally been in terms of hypotheticals, since yes they've been together for years but also they're seventeen and non-hypothetical terms would be a Big Step - but like, it's gonna happen eventually) - she can absolutely visibly take charge of the social obligations of house parkinson, which would make her the face of the family as far as high society is concerned

the BIG wrench in those gears, however, is the dark network.

heather keeps her cards close to her chest on that one - by the time she talks to margaret about it in ch 7, she already knows it's true and she's already certain she wants to join. and the big reason she talks to margaret about it instead of priam is because she wants a path in that doesn't depend on him

of course there are conversations to be had between the two of them about it, and those conversations do happen, but the key to them is that the parkinsons have been in the dark network since its founding. they have a long history that's going to automatically grant them and their opinions some weight in the dark network, and they have magical expertise that's been developed for hundreds of years

heather doesn't have that. and if she were to just follow priam around, magically speaking, she'd still end up in the dark network, but she wouldn't really have anything of her own in it. hence forging a connection with regulus directly. heather's still going to be in the dark network, but not just on house parkinson's terms, because, again, she wants to be her own person

that was a long answer to a yes/no question but that's just my life tbh, in summary yes he does know and they've already talked about how life would look (and how life should Not look) if they were to get married

and if you want to write obscene amounts of fic about them, go for it!

I think all creators go through phases where even their "fun" pursuits feel like a burden. Because really, it isn't just fun, is it? It is work, it is soul-consuming, it requires so much brain power to simply be creative sometimes. And you've poured so much energy into your fic and all the art you've created related to it in a relatively short span. It makes sense you might feel a little burned out.

Try to be patient (I know it's hard!) and let yourself drift away for a little while if you need to. In my experience, we always come back to the projects we love. Sometimes you just need (and deserve!) a little break. <3

God no it’s def not fun, just a grueling task that I—for whatever reason—Love 🖤 And you are so right, def feeling the burnout effects, but I am very bad at taking breaks—I know I should I just can’t. It makes me feel more restless sometimes. But maybe I just need to try harder ! lol

3rd Announcement and Update: Loonatics KR and Other Fanfics

Hey guys. It's been a while and I have not posted anything or an update about our Loonatics fanfic called Loonatics KR. But I did make my first popular post in my Tumblr account of a screenshot of Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner hugging each other in Space Jam A New Legacy that reminds me of Tech and Rev and thanks to @jigsawcheeks for the TechRev art. And of course nonrelated Loonatics art.

Well if you are wondering why I have not posted 1 single chapter and episode 2 for Wattpad because we are still in the making while chatting in DIscord. We can't just post the book and chapter right away on Wattpad because it does not feel exciting waiting for another chapter. The best way to publish the fic is to complete a full book with full chapters.

Meaning there is no need to worry. The project for Loonatics KR is still alive. And our purpose is to keep Loonatics Unleashed fandom stay alive.

We are working on adding new additional characters to the story for this project and planning to add new chapters and episodes too. And of course, chapters with additional add ons. Like I said before think of the Loonatics KR Episode 1 like a Snyder Cut. It may have the same scene but it has additional missing pieces of the story. While for episode 2 for Loonatics KR. We are still working on it. We also have plans for future episodes. Like the Acmetropolis Gangwar, The japan episode that Purple was not able to make a story about, and many others that my Disord friends made for the future episodes. Sometimes it's hard for me to catch up in Discord and have writer's block in my head because of school work. Also, another thing for me even this year I still didn't complete Fire Pro Wrestling World Fighting Roads meaning the Loonatics Road is still on hold. But still, I will never leave the Loonatics Unleashed franchise.

Speaking of franchises there are other 2 fanfics that I am working on. 2 they are crossover fanfics and Kervinverse stories (that explains my header image in my account) from different franchises and they are video games crossover to animated movies because I want to also practice how the crossover can work with proper storytelling. Just in case anyone missed my previous announcement I will just put it here

The first one is Zootopia X APB Reloaded: Anyone Can Be All You Can't Be. Is a story about my APB Reloaded version of Kervin that was strangely transported by in the Zootopia universe after chasing a criminal and after takes place of the movie Zootopia. The only way to survive in this new world of Zootopia is that he has no choice to join the ZPD to solve cases and fight crime alongside Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps. The reason for this story because before Zootopia I played APB Reloaded on Steam and in this game you can choose either a criminal or enforcer. I picked enforcer because you know. Inspired to fight crime and save day. After I watched Zootopia my idea just hit me and that is to make Zootopia X APB Reloaded crossover just to gain popularity for APB Reloaded.

The second one is Def Jam X Kung Fu Panda: Book 1 Fight For A New Fight (working title) Is a story that focuses on the Def Jam Video games that are Vendetta and Fight For NY (which I call the Vendetta Universe) most of the characters from both Def Jam games were transported to the KFP universe and focuses on 3 characters from Def Jam games that is Kervin (Def Jam Fight For NY), Blaze and Doc. When they found a place called Gongmen City they need to find a way to survive and work to get back up their feet. Now I know Def Jam and Kung Fu Panda sounded that they don't mix like hotdogs and marshmallows but if you have not played Def Jam Fight For NY and Vendetta then you should check it on your PS2 or Pcsx2 Emulator. Most of it in Fight For NY has the over-the-top martial arts finishing movements and trust me you really need to play it. And in this fanfic, there is more than just kung fu in this story but introduce other more fighting styles too. Oh, and do you know Peng from Legends of Awesomeness? Well, you will see.

Talented Ass Writers: Tumblr (1)

Talented Ass Writers.

As the fan-fiction connoisseur that I am, I see it only fitting that my first official post be a shout out to all the great writers that I’ve discovered, befriended, and thoroughly enjoyed since my arrival on the holy ground that is tumblr.

Now. I’m 22 years old, and I’ve read a lot of fan-fiction in my days, guys, so I’d like to think I know good quality material when I read it. I’ve even dabbled in the writing aspect of it, but we aren’t going to talk about that. I’m more of a reader than a writer, at least when creative writing is concerned. I have ideas, but I can never think them through to where I want them to end up, so alas, I read others works and immerse myself in worlds inside worlds.

For the past year or so, I’ve been heavy into the BNHA fandom, hence the name on my blog. My favorite character is Bakugou Katsuki. As if that wasn’t obvious, but I’m a fan-girl at heart, so I read on multiple platforms including: wattpad, quotev, ffnet, AO3, obscure websites that exist, and of course tumblr, and in this post and the parts that will come later, I will mention lots of authors from different platforms that I think people should know about, in my humble opinion.

I mainly read reader inserts or fics with OC’s, but I’m not going to say that there won’t be some character x character action because in the past, I’ve read plenty of those for several fandoms.

Without Further Ado, Welcome to My “Talented Ass Writers” List, or at least the first part of a yet to be determined number.

One of My Favorites: Missed Connection *

@pleasantanathema - This blog is strictly 18+ NSFW content, so this one is for all my deviants, like myself. She writes smut beautifully, and her writing is just amazing. I once requested her to write Jealous!Bakugou, and she delivered. She writes for Haikyuu and BNHA, so pick your poison, and I just want to add that she may or may not be one of the reasons that I thirst, occasionally, over Endeavor.

@lady-bakuhoe - this list is far from complete, but I wanted to go ahead & put Jo on here. If you like to read Fanfiction, I’m sure you’ve stumbled upon one of Jo’s fics. SHE HAS SO MANY GOOOD ONES. I love her writing so much. She has a way with words, and I read a lot, honestly one of the best. She’s not currently writing, but I would definitely recommend checking out her stuff here or on AO3. 18+ only though.

@gallickingun - Morgan not only writes for my angry boy baku, but she’s also writes (wrote?) for my asshole prince of all Saiyans that I love so dearly, and she’s good at it. That’s why she’s on the list, obviously. She writes smut, spice, fluff, ANGST (I’m still mad about that ending MORGAN 😂) & she does it beautifully. She’s also a really chill person, and you won’t regret checking her out. 18+

@league-of-thots - Jay’s blog is 18+, and she writes for several characters, including Hawks and Natsuo. She’s really good at smut, which I believe is slowly becoming a prerequisite for this list, and her writing, the not smutty parts, is also superb. She also throws in some kinks, and We all secretly like the kinky stuff, you can admit it to me.

One of My Favorites: How Much I Love You*

@rivendell101 - I feel like I keep saying things like “she’s so good,” but they wouldn’t be on this list if they weren’t good. I’m not normally into threesomes, okay, but after reading the way she wrote her todoxreaderxbaku ... I had a change of heart. Her fic is really well done, and I can’t wait to read more of her stuff! 18+.

One of My Favorites: Some like it Hot*

@ichor-and-symbiosis - Don’t get me wrong. I love my heroes, but this is one of my fave villain blogs, specifically Shigaraki. She totally writes for other characters including Heroes and other Villains, but she captures Tomura so well, and she has so many fics! If you want some five finger death punch, AKA Shigaraki, in your life, I would definitely check this blog out! 18+.

@bnhabadass - Nora’s tumblr name fits her so well because she’s definitely a badass! She writes for a lot of BNHA characters, and her writing is really good! I’ve read some of her work, and I plan on reading more because I haven’t been disappointed yet! 18+.

@burnedbyshoto - Lyssa! The Todoroki stan of Todoroki stans. She captures Shouto so well in her writing, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed all of the fics that I’ve read by her. If you love a certain icy hot bastard, I think you’ll like her blog! 18+.

One of My Favorites: House-sitting and Concupiscence*

@cutesuki--bakugou - Sarah is so talented. She writes, obviosuly, but she also DRAWS, and in this house, we stan multi-talented queens. She drew me MMA bakugou, and I will forever be indebted to her, but that’s not why she’s on this list. She’s on here because she’s super great at writing, especially for Baku. She also has great xOC content, but she does xReader as well! 18+.

One of My Favorites: Frigid*

@todourouki - Despite the name, this blog writes for BNHA and Haikyuu! I am partial to the BNHA fandom because it has my angry boy in it, but I do like the Haikyuu fandom, and I feel like it’s growing very rapidly recently. I love this blog’s writing style, and the smut is great! 18+.

One of My Favorites: Studying, but make it Nude*

@ladyexplosionmurder - I’m sorry, but if you write good bakugou stories, you’ll probably end up on this list, or one of my future lists, and this blog writes good bakugou! They don’t have many stories yet, but I’ve really enjoyed what I’ve read so far. This is definitely a blog to watch!

I’m sorry you’re frustrated or if I offended you somehow, but to be frank I don’t appreciate the tone you’re using here. However, to answer you anyway:

First of all, unless you ARE that anon, I don’t think you can say they “def” meant anything, since they never came back to clarify, and I did try my best to answer them the first time, and I seemed to have helped since they didn’t come back to report any problems with my answer.

Second of all, “alleged”? That’s very rude. Just because you cannot see them on tumblr mobile, does not mean they do not exist. Plenty of other people have used them just fine, as evidenced by the many posts submitted to this blog. And as the last two people who’ve asked about mobile access before never came back with problems, I can only assume they simply went on the desktop site to use the generators instead of accusing me that it’s not accessible at all.

It was only two posts (so far anyway), and if you read them closely, you may have noticed I said I was only working on new updates, that they weren’t done, and that they aren’t out yet. And also that “the current generators are still up” so that people have a fully functional version of the generator to use, even if it’s not as pretty as the update is going to be. So no, there is no “link to the thing I updated”, because it’s not done yet. And as the point of the post was about the updates-to-come, I saw no need to promote a link to the generators that are currently available. Seeing as you want that though, I shall go correct those posts and link it, for your and future readers’ convenience.

I apologize for the misunderstanding, if I wasn’t clear enough about the updates being a work-in-progress. I was just trying to update my actual followers (of which I noticed that you are not one) that I was working on stuff, since this blog is usually pretty quiet.

Again, I’m sorry this is frustrating to you, and you do bring up some legitimate feedback about the mobile accessibility. As I mentioned, I’ve answered at least two asks about this issue before, but since it’s been a few years and phones have definitely gotten more powerful I can look into developing a proper mobile version. But a lot of issues come up with making a mobile version, namely UI and responsive design (because I’d have to account for both vertical and horizontal orientation, and again I reiterate that UI design is hard), dynamic coding/image generation/data input/font importing and styling/etc., and how to save the actual generated image or at the very least the export/import save data for later use on a desktop browser. It takes a lot of work (more than most people realize, I imagine), so if you would like to help with that, let me know, otherwise you have no right to shame me for not making a mobile version, taking my time, or doing any of this.

As it is, you can actually still access the generator on mobile, just not tumblr mobile. You just have to go to a browser on your phone (there’s a reason my URL is so simple). However, as mentioned above, the template was not designed with mobile in mind, so all the fonts and effects and arrangement on the template itself just looks... not like it’s supposed to. Which, again, is part of the issue with the design, but at least you can access it on mobile, against your claims that you cannot.

Also, I mainly made this a desktop site because of how large the dimensions of the template are, in order to make sure the text is visible/legible even in the downsized preview image. Even when I view the template on my phone, I have to zoom in a lot, and with the current live version of the online generators, it would have made scrolling around to input data annoying. The PSDs, as well, would be inaccessible on mobile as far as I know (if Photoshop Mobile has improved enough to handle all the layers, masks, and effects, I’m unaware) so it was a conscious decision to make this whole thing desktop-only when I first started this blog several years ago.

It’s very much tumblr’s fault, and I really should have thought of that at first, but again, it was a conscious decision to make this a desktop site. Even if I made rebloggable/viewable posts with the links in them (which I plan to do soon, if only to satisfy mobile users like you), only the PSD download links would work (but again, not sure how well downloading PSDs work on mobile devices), as the tumblr app will still loop back to the blog, since the online generator is still one of those blog “pages”. And that is not changing for as long as I don’t have the time or money to host it on its own domain.

I can’t change the fact that tumblr mobile doesn’t automatically open blog pages in an external browser, so the only solution I can offer you is to take the extra step to copy the url and go into your mobile device’s actual internet browser, or just go to your browser and type in my URL manually.

If you actually couldn’t access the templates at all (which should not be an issue if you “REALLY wanna see it” given that not only did I offer you explanations and solutions for the tumblr app problem, but also that it IS accessible on desktop and you reasonably could have just gone on a computer) or had any other problem with them, I have made no stranger of myself and have always been open to help people. They have been polite or nice when they do talk to me, and I’ve always tried to be cordial in return. Your feedback is legitimate, and I appreciate it, but you really could have worded your implied suggestion a little better. And to be quite honest, I was offended by the rudeness of your reply, especially when you called my hard work a “*thing*”. Those asterisks imply a very negative tone, in case you weren’t aware.

I get the impression that you think that your demand will be fulfilled right away if you make enough fuss about it, but I’m not going to be manipulated or guilt-tripped because you feel bad. Maybe you don’t mean it that way, but you can “grow increasingly frustrated” all you want, because not only am I working on this for free, on my free time, and by myself, but I am also not doing this for you. You’re right that I am pouring a lot of work into this, as much work as any fan artist or fanfiction writer will put into their own works, and I’m very proud of it (both as it is now and what it will be in the future) and I have fun working on it, but this is not my job. And you’re not paying for a service.

I’m not working for anyone, and I have no reason to have made more than I originally did--originally I only made the student template PSDs for some friends, and the generator (which seems to be my most popular template, even though my original focus was on the PSDs) only came about because one of my friends didn’t have Photoshop. And I wasn’t even going to release either of them to the public, but I did, and the villain ones came over a year later because of this blog and the people who follow it. No one asked for a user interface update (in fact, more people have asked for a pro hero template), but I’m doing it anyway because I can and I want to. That’s all this boils down to. Also my free time (if you hadn’t noticed, everything on my blog runs on a queue, and when I do queue stuff it’s usually like 3am or so--including right now... it’s currently 5am actually) and motivation (I’m well aware of how few people actually use the templates compared to how many people follow and reblog the posts, and honestly it’s a little discouraging). So if I do make a mobile version, be aware that it won’t be coming out for a very long time. (Also, I think you’re the only one in several years who has complained about it, and you are literally 1 in... what, 3000+ people? Judging by the number of notes on the original post I made when I started the blog and my current number of followers. And again, you’re not even one of them. So to be honest, I’m really not motivated to work on this quickly.)

If you want it faster? Being nice when you show your interest helps, it’s how I got encouraged to make the villain templates. Though I never asked for much other than patience. Or at the very least, the respect any fandom content creator deserves--I may not be cranking out fanart daily or new chapters of a fanfiction weekly or anything, but I am still providing the fandom with something they can enjoy at no cost. And like reviews on fics or comments on art, many people have expressed that they’re grateful the templates and generators exist at all, unlike you, which is really the reason this blog continues to exist and the generators/templates to be updated with new and improved features. I could have just left my original template generator up there and abandoned it, but I know how it feels to find out a fanart you loved years ago was deleted or a really good fanfic was discontinued. So I’ll continue to work on it, and yes I’ll put mobile compatibility for the generators on my to-do list, but I’ll do it at my own pace.

Also I’m not making money off of this, but hey, if you wanna give me incentive that way, hop into my DMs or something and we’ll talk, but I’ve never asked for donations or anything and I don’t plan to. The generators and templates are free for use, and most of that is because of tumblr, which gave it a platform and a home. If I hosted it on its own domain, I’d need a means to pay for that, and I’m personally not invested enough to do that when tumblr is free and works well enough.

If you or anyone else wants to help change that, come talk to me, the ask box is always open.

Otherwise, please visit this blog page on a desktop browser or at the very least something that isn’t just the tumblr mobile app, because nothing can be done about mobile compatibility right now, and I’d hate for you to miss out on seeing the templates. You thought you heard shuffling in bed next to you but you assumed it was just happening in your mind. Only two hours later, when you finally opened your eyes to greet your surprisingly empty bed did you realize that your guest from the night before had chosen to leave while you were still sleeping.

He wasn’t a complete asshole who bailed on you after having sex, though. He had left a note on your bedside table – the only remaining piece of furniture in your bedroom, aside from the bed itself, – but as soon as you read the dry words he had written, you started to wish you’d never seen the piece of paper.

I had a good night. Thanks, x

“Thanks,” you read the last word out loud. “Well, you sure are welcome.”

Leaving without saying anything or even waiting until you woke up was really sort of awful but even that would have been better than leaving after writing a dry note as if to acknowledge that, yeah, he did have sex with you and he’s grateful you gave him a place to sleep for the night, but that’s it.

Should you have expected anything more? Not really. Were you still hoping he’d, at least, stay a little bit longer and the two of you could get breakfast and, maybe, fall in love along the way? Of course. You were as delusional as it was possible to get, apparently. But you couldn’t help yourself. This was your first one-night-stand, so, of course, you were hoping for some fairytale happy ending.

Groaning, you crumpled up the piece of paper and got out of bed. The saying “all men are the same” was something you tried to refrain from using but, damn it, it fit your situation so well. Although, rationally, you could understand that this was your fault, too. You recalled every unsuccessful date you’ve had as you put your robe on. Each and every one of those dates would have gone better if you hadn’t expected so much from those guys. If you had lower standards.

You glared at yourself in the mirror, blaming your own mind for deciding that having a one-night-stand would help you feel better. It didn’t. This was the first time you’ve brought a complete stranger home to hook up and it was absolutely the last one.

Walking to your kitchen, you accidentally kicked one of the many cardboard boxes in your house. Your whole foot stung as you limped to the kitchen and leaned against the island, hating this morning even more. Moving out was already stressful. Why did you need to sleep with someone on your last night in this apartment and then mess your mind up by imagining some unrealistic scenario about falling in love with your one-night-stand?

You rolled your eyes and started the coffee pot. Then, simmering in irritation, you opened your laptop that you’d left on the counter before you had gone out drinking with friends the night before.

“I need someone to share my stupid hopes with,” you mumbled under your breath, opening Facebook and texting the groupchat of your best friends a quick update on how your night went.

Then, you got your phone out and, pouring coffee into your favorite mug with one hand, texted your soon-to-be roommate with the other one.

You finished half the mug – and really considered blocking your friends for ignoring you when you desperately needed to talk – by the time Kiera, one of your friends, replied to you. Coincidentally, she was the only friend from your small group of four who wasn’t present at the night-out you had.

Kiera was too busy to hang out last night, but she was really curious to know what your one-night-stand had done to unleash such fury from you. However, she wasn’t content with your explanation of how he left after thanking you for a “good night” in a note. She wanted you to elaborate on the so-called good night itself.

You shook your head – she always wanted juicy details – and started to reply.

Your mind was immediately flooded with memories of the beautiful guy at the end of the bar last night. Hyojin, your other friend had pointed him out to you, insisting that he was your type. You were convinced that he only glanced at you because he felt you staring as you tried to decide how far out of your league he was. However, something about you must have attracted him, too, because a minute later, he was making his way towards you.

He did have a slightly cocky attitude but you were always weirdly drawn to arrogant guys. It must have been something about their confidence that attracted you. And, if you had to be honest, this guy had every reason to be confident. His face was a work of art – you didn’t need to be a photographer to recognize his beauty, but you did wish you had your camera with you – and his voice almost made you melt as he listened to what you told him, and responded with genuine curiosity.

This was where your Kiera interrupted your story with a confused emoji. She said that you had come across a guy who was boyfriend material, she could feel it from your texts. Apparently, these guys weren’t the type to have one-night-stands, so, she swore you’d hear from him again.

You scoffed. “Via pigeon post, most likely.”

You continued to tell Kiera about how he stared at your lips until he finally cut you off mid-sentence and asked if he could kiss you. You told her about how he couldn’t keep his hands off of you the entire taxi ride back home. You even told her how he pushed the boxes in your apartment aside so he could have you against—

Your phone buzzed suddenly and you flinched, the hot feeling caused by the memories of last night settling down in your stomach. You didn’t know why your heart dropped at the text message but you had to remind yourself that Kiera was wrong: your one-night-stand didn’t have your phone number. There was no way he could have reached out to you again.

And indeed, the text wasn’t anything exciting; it was just a message from your future roommate.

You sighed, disappointed for the second time today and it wasn’t even midday.

You hadn’t met your roommate yet but you were hoping you’d get to meet her as soon as you moved in. What was a better ice-breaker than you telling her about how a guy had sex with you and then – perhaps unsurprisingly – bailed while you were asleep. The two of you would bond over your mutual irrational hatred for the male specimen – because you knew she was single, too – and then you’d become best friends for life.

Maybe you were being naïve again because you didn’t even know her real name. Somehow, you never felt the need to outright ask her what her name was. You used each other screen names to communicate – you figured DEF had to be her initials – but you did try to make out her name from her signature on the online lease form. You didn’t succeed, though. In the end, nor her name, nor her face – she had a cat as her profile picture – mattered. You’d get to know her better when you moved in.

You already got to know her a little bit since you texted her number from an ad looking for a roommate a couple of months ago, but, since you never met face-to-face, you were slightly scared that talking in real life would have been different. This time, your conversations wouldn’t consist of questions about allergies, musical preferences, and ambitions.

Although, now that you thought of it, you and her were really similar. Both of you enjoyed the same type of music and both of you had big, rather ambitious dreams. You wanted to become a professional photographer, and she wanted to become a singer. Both of you knew that the chances of these dreams actually coming true were slim, but you both enjoyed dreaming about it together nevertheless.

In the end, you were hopeful that you’d enjoy living with her, even if you wouldn’t get to begin the friendship as soon as you moved in.

You got back to replying to Kiera, this time struggling to remember the feeling of your one-night-stand’s hands on you as vividly as before, but then your phone buzzed again, distracting you even more.

You smiled at this. It had to mean that she wanted to bond with you, too, so maybe you weren’t that naïve and delusional. You may have expected too much from guys but your girlfriends haven’t let you down yet.

You weren’t trying to hide your enthusiasm. Furniture shopping was always a sign of maturity in your eyes and ever since you moved out of your parents' house a couple of years ago, you were eager to move into your own apartment so you could choose all furniture yourself. Unfortunately, the first apartment you lived in – the one you were in right now – came furnished, so you’ve yet to experience the joy of choosing your own bed, closet, and chairs.

Actually, you still couldn’t afford to buy it all on your own, but living with a roommate had a lot of perks. Not only did you have someone to socialize with when you desperately needed a person to talk to, but you could also split the rent, the groceries, and even the furniture. This arrangement worked well not just for your social needs – however minor they were, – but for your financial needs, too.

You really couldn’t wait.

The van you had rented came with three guys, two of which carried the boxes into the van for you – all while complaining about it, and thus fueling your hatred for the males today even more. The other guy was the driver who was, actually, really patient and kind, albeit a little too intrusive.

“So, why are you moving?” he asked you after you finally sat down on the passenger seat and all of you headed towards your new building.

“I graduated from college,” you said. “This was a small apartment, it only had one bedroom. I lived here because I wanted to stay away from the mess that is the dorms. I’m not into that life.”

“You had to work to afford to live in an apartment, though, didn’t you?” the driver asked again.

“I did,” you confirmed. “I waitressed at cafés mostly. I got a job that’s a bit more serious now, though, so now I can afford to live in a bigger place.”

“Any roommates?” he wondered.

“One,” you nodded. “Today will be the first time I’m meeting her.”

The driver glanced at you, surprised. “You’re moving in with someone you’ve never met?”

This was the question you’ve heard twenty times already. You had to admit, everyone who asked this had a point – you really were moving in with someone you barely knew – but, at the same time, you were very confident in this decision. Not even your parents’ warnings that you could end up moving in with a psychopath could steer you. Def was nice, you were sure about that.

“I am,” you said. “I’ve been talking to her for a few months and she’s really sweet. We’re very similar, so I know we’ll get along well. Or, well, I hope we will.”

“Alright, then,” he replied. “Best of luck to you. Make sure I don’t have to transfer your stuff back to your old apartment after you meet her, okay?”

You laughed at this, shaking your head and assuring him that this won’t happen. But, really, his words made you anxious, which was funny, since many people tried to prove to you that this was a bad decision, and yet a simple driver of a moving truck was the one who actually opened your eyes.

Maybe you became more aware of the fact that you were, essentially, starting a new period of your life blindly because you were seconds away from opening the door to this new life. Maybe the anxiety was a normal reaction. Maybe you’d have felt the same way even if you’d known the name or what your roommate looked like.

Taking a deep breath, you spent the rest of the trip focusing on how excited you were to meet the person you were about to live with. Finally, your late-night conversations about cats – she used to own five of them at once, apparently, and you’ve never heard anything more impressive than that – could come to life.

So, yeah, you were going to be alright. This would work out. No anxiety could dim the excitement of meeting your roommate.

The same two guys helped you carry the stuff up to your new place – well, “helped” was a stretch; what you really did was admire the hallways as you carried a little potted plant while they did all the hard work – but, this time, they complained less. Maybe because they finally realized you’d be paying them and wanted to suck it up to you in hopes of a tip. Well, aside from complaining, they really did a good job and all nine of your cardboard boxes reached the floor of your new kitchen within twenty minutes, even though the apartment was relatively high up and the elevator was, of course, broken. So, you felt like they deserved a tip.

Once you were left alone, you finally took in the new place. The décor was white mostly: white walls, white ceilings, grey floors. The built-in kitchen appliances and cupboards were also either white or grey.

There was one bathroom, a kitchen, a living room area – that was completely empty, – and two bedrooms in the apartment. The bedroom closer to the exit had its door slightly open and you couldn’t resist peeking inside.

You didn’t see much. There was a mattress on the floor, a sad looking piece of paper – that must have fallen out of one of the black travel bags that were scattered there, – and a guitar case. You hadn’t realized your roommate played the guitar but you should have probably guessed it. She did want to become a singer after all, so it was likely that she’d know how to play at least one instrument.

You closed the door – after noticing how few bags there were there in comparison to the boxes you’ve brought – and carefully began to drag your stuff into your bedroom. You were afraid to ruin the floorboards but you also didn’t want to actually lift the bags and carry them manually. Perhaps you should have asked the workers to bring your boxes to your new bedroom instead of just having them drop them all in the nearly empty living room/kitchen area.

As soon as the boxes with your books, clothes, shoes, and other necessities were in your room, you texted your roommate to let her know you were here and to subtly ask her when she’d be home. Then, while you waited for her response, you started to unpack the rest of the boxes that you’ve left in the kitchen.

You were halfway through the crockery box when she finally replied.

The domestic request brought a smile to your face. Finally, you didn’t have to worry about leaving the stove on when you went out. You could just text your roommate to check.

The fridge, as it turned out, wasn’t working at all. You panicked at first but then you realized it just wasn’t plugged into the electric cord on the kitchen wall next to it. You did that and texted her back.

She replied with a thumbs-up emoji and you placed your phone on the counter next to you so you could finish unpacking.

You had offered to bring the cutlery and crockery before you moved in, telling your roommate not to worry about any of it. Both of your parents worked for ceramic tableware manufacturers so, each Christmas, your family was gifted new sets of plates, bowls, teapots, and dishes you’ve never learned the names of. You had so many different sets by now that you could have eaten out of different plates every night for a whole month.

Once you finished with this box, you went through the boxes of cutlery and other minor home appliances. You laughed when you realized you had brought your blender, even though your roommate had already placed hers on the kitchen counter. It made you laugh even louder when you realized that both of your blenders were from the same brand and looked almost identical.

A couple of hours later, when you finished working on all the other boxes in the kitchen and moved on to the ones in your bedroom, you heard a key in the lock of the apartment door. Your stomach clenched in excitement and you felt yourself smile.

Your roommate was home.

Deciding to unpack the rest of the boxes later, you headed for the door of your room.

“Hey!” a voice called out. You froze to the spot immediately. “I’m home!”

Was it possible to be robbed on your first day in a new apartment? No, scratch that, it was possible to be robbed at any point in life, this was a stupid question. But… was it possible for a robber to announce that he was home before he stole all of your precious belongings? Because the voice outside of your door didn’t belong to your roommate. At least, not to the roommate you had imagined.

“Hey!” the same voice called out again. You felt yourself panic because the voice was most certainly male and it sounded familiar. “Are we playing hide-and-seek or something? Or are you not home yet and I’m talking to myself?”

With your heart beating out of your chest, you opened the door.

“Seriously, where are y—”

The words got caught in his throat as soon as he saw you walk out of the bedroom. To be honest, you almost forgot to breathe from the shock as well. Not only was your roommate a guy, but, as it turned out, you’ve also met him before.

“Jaebum,” you said, your eyes wide and clouded with confusion.

There stood Def. Your new roommate.

And your one-night-stand from the night before.

I want to say 2012/2013 range but this is before I was super solid on my tagging system so I can’t actually find liveblogs for the game proper. I think I knew about the ship and characters first? I know april introduced p4 to me

• my thoughts:

something kind of funny is that in my experience dudes tend to be the least sympathetic to yosuke. I can def understand why anyone would be put off by him (though with SOME dudes it seems less about criticizing sexism/homophobia and maybe, more about, yosuke hitting a little close to home) (and those dudes don’t exactly have the excuse of atlus writing) (considering they’re real people) (I’m bitter!). the reason I can be more sympathetic to him is 1) obviously overcompensating for a bi crisis, 2) he’s basically used by atlus to initiate fanservice and then immediately trashed on as retribution, which is really annoying to me because it’s like “it’s alright everybody! sure it was bullshit excuses to get the girls into bathing suits, but look! yosuke gets trashed on which means everything’s fine, the responsible party is punished, and now it’s totally fine to enjoy these teen girls in bathing suits.” also the game never gives you, the player, the option to be like ‘hey don’t do this’ re: sexism/homophobia which just adds an uncomfy vibe of complicity and precludes any growth or development that would prevent it in the future. because atlus needs it to keep happening for the sake of fanservice and punch-down humor.

so yosuke characterization is this awkward mix of 1) paying attention to the interesting character stuff going on with him going from all shallow friendships to basically zero friends and being the scapegoat for capitalism in a small town, 2) parsing out bullshit atlus writing to either ignore or adjust so it turns into a real conversation where people (yosuke) learn and friendships grow stronger, 3) not ignoring his negative character traits in favor of the positive character traits that tend to be swept under the rug. but it’s mostly capturing the emotion of ‘shitty things you did in high school and agonize over for the rest of your life’ and amplifying it maybe a hundred times.

I like the partner dynamic....... I like that they rely on each other...... the s.link is really good..............

Oh Anonny, I’ve literally had this conversation before because... well, I personally can’t.

There are authors around here who display really abhorrent behaviour outside of their fics and because of that, I no longer read any of their work nor will I recommend any of it either. Maybe it makes me petty, but I’ve never been able to personally separate the artist from the art.

It’s kind of a loaded question in and of itself though because a lot of talented people are assholes. The evidence is right there in our history. For instance, Rudyard Kipling was high-key a colonialist and extremely racist in his view of non-white people, but his work really informed the golden era of children’s literature amongst other things. And Lewis Carroll, who wrote Alice in Wonderland, was in love with a real-life Alice, who was a child when he was a grown man.

Their work is still amazing and they are still applauded for it, but I think the distinction is that they’re long gone. They are not presently benefiting from their fiction. And most people who study literature know about their problematic behaviour and how that actually plays a huge part in the way in which we read and study their work.

However, when the artist is still alive, it’s a different story altogether, in my opinion. For example, you have someone like Roman Polanski who is still alive. He is wanted for statutory rape on a 13-year-old girl. I won’t get into the case surrounding this because it’s a mess, but the fact of the matter is he still did what he did and therefore the entirety of Hollywood and any other film industry should ban him from ever directing again. The film industry is a hugely influential world and when you excuse a man for his crimes and allow him to continue working, you’re basically saying it’s okay. For this matter, you absolutely cannot separate the art from the artist. They should not be able to benefit whatsoever.

Now you’re asking about fanfiction so this is kind of an extreme case of what you’re asking me about. In no way do these authors even come up to Polanski’s level of atrociousness, but what I’m saying is I personally can’t separate the art from the artist when the artist is not being held accountable for what they say or do. The reason why Kipling and Carroll are different is because who they were and what they believed and/or did is always present when discussing their work.

But when people are still around and they’re being applauded for their work, there’s a blind community ignorance to their behaviour and the more popular they are the more other people justify that bad behaviour and/or create a space where similar behaviour is accepted. That’s what happens when you have a group of people whose work is loved by a community and they start to act horribly to others. They’re justified in how they act because their fans equate talent with human decency and those who criticise them are then vilified and demonised in the community.

So out of principle, I cannot separate the writer from the fanfic when the writer is continuously being toxic to a fandom that I love and adore and want to protect. I will not add to their ego and to the hive mentality that they are somehow better than others who have less kudos or favourites on their fanfics despite being just as good or better.

Maybe it does make me petty, but that’s just my personal opinion and I’m sticking to it :) In short though, you’re not an asshole if you can’t separate the writer from the fanfic either, Anonny. It’s your prerogative

AMA Transcript: Pell Grant Matrimony

This weekend, @marshofsleep, @sojustifiable (known as Amanda on Discord), @adorabbey and @tilliquoi braved yesterday's Discordacolypse in order to chat about their 2016 Resbang, Pell Grant Matrimony! Here's some of what went down:

Q: Please, give us a rundown of how this was conceived.

sleepmarshes:

sleepmarshes: It's almost been an entire year. We've lived with this sin for 11 months. Right, so, like, there was that tumblr post going around about how a bro realized he could help another bro out since gay marriage became legal, and they could get a green card. So my thought was, of course, this is Soul and (somebody).

Amanda: I believe this was the tweet marsh referenced when she first described the initial idea to me before we were collabing on it:

sleepmarshes: So, the setup would be Maka meets Soul and of course they hit it off because this is why we came here. But it turns out Soul is married.

sleepmarshes: Then we decided B* would be the best choice. He would be ultra gung ho about PDA. THEN, Amanda started signing up for financial aid, and she was like hey, what if we do it like this instead of green card? And then BAM, COLLEGE AU. Then it became a game of how many tropes, cliches, and memes we could pile in.

Amanda: And then when I was signing up for financial aid I also saw this post and was like hey alternate motivation: http://zhuy-doodles.tumblr.com/post/144803762284. How we ended up collabing and doing it for real was that I was talking to marsh about how I wasn't sure if I was going to do resbang or not, and that if i was, I wanted to do something silly. And she was like, hey you should do that thing I told you about. And I was like I can't do that, it's your thing. And she was like oh we can collab and then we made a blood pact.

sleepmarshes: Now we are borg.

Adorabear: Amanda, marsh, and I did a minecraft FRAND ritual. Very legit.

Q: How did the collab work?

sleepmarshes: At the time, I was busy with house building stuff and other things, so I knew I wasn't going to be able to help a whole lot.

Amanda: I imagine it works differently for different people but ours was a Process. When we discussed collabing we pretty much decided I would do the bulk of the writing while marsh would act as helicopter mom with plotting and everything.

sleepmarshes: HELICOPTER MOM omg. It me.

Amanda: So we plotted together and marsh would be like hey I know this is a joke but we need actual character motivation and shiz and then I started cranking out words. And then marsh trailed behind me, editing and making parts funnier and more coherent and filling in the scenes I was really struggling with.

sleepmarshes: She trucked right on man, just huge chunks. Well, I also kept throwing stupid ideas at you.

Q: Who came up with my daughter snappy, and also, how do you feed an alligator on student budget?

sleepmarshes: We don't talk about the budget.

Amanda: So once upon a time, I sent marsh this meme:

sleepmarshes: How DID that happen? This is clearly America.

Amanda: Just as a joke, I was like haha look at this meme and she was like fake gay fic??

sleepmarshes: I don't remember this but I believe it 100%.

Amanda: And I was like, not my intention, but okay, I can roll with it, they have an alligator now. Gained through some vague but nefarious means.

sleepmarshes: Snappy*Star. I think we decided [she was] smuggled from Disney World? I regret not making the epilogue about [Black*Star's] TV show.

Amanda: Yeah there were some interesting epilogue plans for when Snappy got too big to keep in an apartment. Black*Star was gonna have a TV show with Snappy I think on exotic pet care or maybe like, exercising with your pet. Just picture like, 3 years from the end of the fic, Soul and Maka are hanging out and turn on the TV to see the two of them.

Q for the artists: What inspired your arting decisions?

Adorabear: So I knew I'd do drinks, and wanted to do nail art (after getting a lot of encouragment from the resbang discord). I did some trial runs of the nail art shortly after the Resbang matchmaking.

Q: What inspired Queen Wes?

Amanda: Queen Wes appeared out of nowhere when I was writing the last 15k in three days and was in a delirious state of confusion.

Q: How did you two like collabing? Did it work well?

Amanda: I had a blast and think the collabing probably went better than either of us could've expected.

sleepmarshes: Oh yeah def. I've been terrfied to collab for years.

Amanda: Like, it ended up being even more collaborative with merging our writing styles so we just got this monster of laughs out of it. Tbh I was surprised that marsh even suggested collabing cuz I didn't think she did collabs.

sleepmarshes: I DON'T do collabs, but I get along with you so well I figured well, if anything'll work, it'll probably be this. Actually, Amanda did a lot of work on the timeline.

Amanda: More like I did a lot of work harrassing Marsh about the timeline because I need things to be linear.

sleepmarshes: Yeah I'm definitely not that.

Amanda: Let me pull up some parts of the outline for posterity. These are the kinds of notes Marsh makes in the outline:

Q: Why Harvar with Wes? I think it was hilarious.

sleepmarshes: Uhhh well we knew we wanted Wes to hit on DTK. Why DID we hook him up with Harv? Just because Harv has put up with his shit for so long and won't leave him?

Amanda: We hooked him up with Harv because you love Harv and love shipping everyone with everyone else.

sleepmarshes: Ok this is probably true.

Amanda: Other random add in about shipping cuz I forgot we had another pm chatlog and found where we were discussing possible ships and I have this quote from marsh's shipping habits:

sleepmarshes: Can confirm, this is my hobby.

Q: Was there a line or joke or meme that made either of you legit laugh out loud when you realized it fit/it ended up in there?

sleepmarshes: Probably every meme we came into contact with?

Adorabear: Amanda and Marsh are basically the people on the date shoving all the breadsticks in their purse, but the breadsticks are memes. And their purse is overflowing, and they're going into the Olive Garden kitchen to get more breadstick memes.

Amanda: I think there was a lot of coming up with ridiculous lines and then having the other be like "wtf is wrong with you that's hilarious."

sleepmarshes: Yes, exactly that. As for drummer DTK....

Amanda: That was another last minute thing. We knew he was a math metal head but then I was like lol what if he shows up as a guest in the music festival?

sleepmarshes: ROFL when you said that I thought well man, if you wanna write it go for it. And then when I caught up to it for edits even I was surprised. I was like FUCK YEA.

Q: Did you guys have a playlist?

sleepmarshes: I didn't have a fic-specific one, personally. I think I was mostly listening to the Macabre Records mix and maybe a Sufjan Stevens album.

Amanda: I also didn't have any specific writing music, being a musician also I find music pretty distracting so the only music I can write to is if it blends together well and is really cohesive and doesn't have any distracting vocals. Hey, I was listening to Sufjan too. Carrie and Lowell.

sleepmarshes: SAME HAT oh I had uhhh. A Sun Came.

Amanda: And maybe some Seven Swans and some old Bon Iver and Iron and Wine sometimes. But basically I need a specific ambient music to write to as opposed to anything relevant.

sleepmarshes: There was a lot of dialogue in this fic, so I needed some chill stuff towards the end.

Q: Did you guys find any characters really challenging to write?

Amanda: I can't write DTK at all so I needed a lot of Marsh intervention in that camp.

sleepmarshes: DTK is uhhh very polite 'I care nothing about what you just said, let me do what i came here to do.' How happy do you expect goth burberry to be? Despite all that, he's got squishy innards [and] four smile muscles. I had Wes issues so his flamboyancy got a lot of help from Amanda.

Amanda: I turned Wes into a monster. Marsh did most of the bbq scene cuz I was quite stuck in the middle of it and wanted to keep steamrollering ahead.

sleepmarshes: We always knew Wes would be obnoxious but I was watching a lot of beauty gurus on YouTube at the time and like... stuff... happened.

Q: Does Tsubaki continue to be a badass pilates instructor after the story ends? Does B* continue to go to her classes? Q: DO THEY BECOME PARTNERS EVENTUALLY?

sleepmarshes: Maybe they can have a workout show together with Snappy the mascot.

Amanda: B* continues to be a big fan of her workout stuff and they're swolebuds.

Q: How goes Patti's Etsy?

sleepmarshes: She's always in business the more Snappy grows.

Amanda: I think we had another potential future ending in which Patti adopts Snappy and cares for her at a wildlife refuge when she gets too big. There were quite a few potential futures for the different people, especially as we were still playing shipping roulette.

Q: Is it really that easy to get divorced in America?

Amanda: Yes, at least as far as I'm aware. If it's not, then we're going with suspension of disbelief.

sleepmarshes: I mean, as long as both sides want it and no one raises a fuss, yeah no one cares.

Q: Why continue to call Kid 'Morty' instead of Kid?

sleepmarshes: Oh, man, idk, college AU with a guy named Death? I couldn't do it.

Amanda: Like, Kid isn't a name and if it's his stage name people wouldn't probably call him that all the time.

sleepmarshes: Bonus: Shinidaddy calling him Junior.

Amanda: Even with B* it's definitely a nickname, we just decided to go off the walls with his actual name. Like, what if instead of being Blake we call him something ridiculous?

Q: Does Blair ever give up the panty thieving?

sleepmarshes: Actually I had wanted that last sock Blair stole to actually belong to DTK, and he was going to find out at the festival, but I totally forgot. Disgruntled DTK with only one sock... chance missed.

Amanda: Just one of those things that slipped through the cracks in the last three days of screaming.

Q: How did Stein and Spirit move the car?

sleepmarshes: I don't know, I always figured Spirit just annoyed the heckie out of everyone in between parking spaces.

Amanda: I wanted to leave it ambiguous just to leave it like... how the fuck did they do that? Cuz they had to get the people to switch spots with them anyway, but then also had to get everyone to move to let them through too.

Same Q: What inspired your arting decisions?

tilliquoi: Hmmm well for Soul and Maka at the mailboxes, I liked it bc shark slippers and bc that was when they first met. And I drew Snappy and Wes just bc they're both fabulous and I couldnt resist.

Amanda: Both the showstealers of the fic.

Q: How did you make those pieces? What programs/materials did you use?

tilliquoi: They're all digital and done in photoshop. It's the only program i really use anymore.

Q: What made you go: Yes. That. This is the fic I want in the first place?

sleepmarshes: YEAH, I WANNA KNOW, TOO.

Adorabear: For me, I was looking for things that I knew I could make drinks for and uh, yeah, it looked fun af, and I like silly af shit.

tilliquoi: Well, last year I was an artist for another Marsh fic, coincidentally, and that one was a lot more serious. It was amazing but this year I wanted to go for something fun and ridiculous as a change of pace. When I read the summary for Pell Grant I was just thinking that I'd probably end up laughing the whole time, so I was like "that one. thats the fic I gotta art for."

sleepmarshes: When your claim came in I laughed SO HARD.

tilliquoi: Yeah it was pretty funny finding out you were one of the authors.

sleepmarshes: She had no idea I was involved.

Amanda: Marsh messaged me like "lol guess who claimed us" but wouldn't tell me until it was official.

Adorabear: Amanda and I were talking about my list, and she was in my Google doc watching me make my pics, watching me eliminate stuff.

Amanda: I was screaming inside because I couldn't let her know it was me.

sleepmarshes: We were both dying.

Adorabear: The joys of anon claiming, I guess.

Q: What are you guys' next projects?

Amanda: Uhhhh I should probably finish Strangers... but I've been focusing more on writing music lately and taking a break from fic, and then I have a couple back burner fics that I won't go into cuz I haven't decided if they'll be for a Resbang or not. Potential original fantasy story also, but I think working on more music is really gonna be the focus while I'm finishing school.

sleepmarshes: Strangers hype. I'm working on Quantum Entanglement, and intend on finishing Lodestar. Probably no Resbang ficcing for me this year, because I want to finish some fics and work on an original novel.

Adorabear: I'm not going to Reverb this year, but I think I'll Resbang art next year.

Q: Did you all ever have to reign each other in? Like were there moments you had to go whoa whoa whoa too much, too far, time to say when?

sleepmarshes: Uhm I think we were just a cycle of enabling, tbh.

Amanda: Confirmed: no reigning in nonsense, only enabling more and more batshit insanity.

Q: Anything not make the cut?

sleepmarshes: I think stuff that didn't make the cut were things we ran out of time for, since a large part of it was written in the last three days. Like I wanted Wes to have an obsession with cinnabon. I think there was more bean warfare.

Q: How did everyone, writers and artists, feel like they grew/changed/learned during the resbang season?

sleepmarshes: I think overall I learned there are more ways of collaborating in writing than I had thought. Like, I thought there was only some way with magical hand holding sentence by sentence and somehow no one committed murder. But like, we just delegated roles, she did the bulk of it, I did invasive betaing, and we talked in discord a lot about junk.

Amanda: I think my growth was just it being the first time I ever wrote that much in a short period of time. Like the last three days were crazy, but I didn't have any problems micromanaging cuz I was fine with just being like "yolo just make this better", for a murder free experience.

sleepmarshes: I was so worried at first about hurting your writing feelings. But then you were like JUST EDIT IT DON'T SUGGEST 200 THINGS.

Amanda: I don't have any writing feelings. JUST FIX IT MARSH MAKE IT BETTER. I'M WRITING AS FAST AS POSSIBLE WITHOUT THINKING ABOUT ANYTHING I KNOW QUALITY IS SPOTTY.

sleepmarshes: After that it was just prancing through a field of yolo.

Amanda: I think both our collaboration and our friendship was helped severely by the fact that I don't have control issues or take anything personally, so invasive betaing was no sweat.

tilliquoi: I think if I learned anything or grew from this, it was in experimenting with coloring styles, particularly with that Wes drawing. That was pretty far out of my comfort zone in terms of how I usually color, but it made me a LOT less afraid to use excessive colors in places I wouldnt normally.

sleepmarshes: I had Wes open on all three monitors while I was editing. This is what it's like to have Wes on every channel:

Adorabear: I think for me, it was just a lot of confidence building in terms of my artwork, because I have been really nervous [about whether] my authors are going to like what I do, or [whether] they'll think I've done enough. I'm just a worrier.

sleepmarshes: Did you get ultra fast at cross stitch? Because that's certainly what it looked like.

Adorabear: I think I just motored through that one. I guess I have gotten faster. But I was like, in beast mode for that one. I am very pleased with it, though.

sleepmarshes: I love it.

Adorabear: Anyway, I think I feel more confident that the things I make are ~enough.~
