I feel so bad for the recent tourist couple that got assaulted in India; and as tragic as that is, the fact that the latter half of this video is filled with quotes of prominent Indian leaders ignoring their country's outcries and baldly denying the seriousness of sexual assault is... just appalling.
There was a case of a similar but different incident a few years ago-- a woman was out with her male friend watching a movie got jumped and sexually assaulted; and died a month later. (I never forgot the podcast I listened to about it, because the presenter humanized her and her family, advocating for her cause rather than sensationalizing her tragedy.) Her story inspired a movement in India that definitely helped the reforms for that time... but it's crazy how many people are still in power that hold the same egregious views. It didn't matter that she was a well-educated woman only out at 8pm and not even on a date....
Not trying to be dark but... injustice make my blood boil; so, I guess I came here to vent.
I read about this. It's so horrible that I'm speechless. I remember reading a tweet where someone said it's their own fault cause they should have known how India is. Like that's an excuse.
The comments by the politicians(!) really took me out. Did you see the comments on the video? Someone said cows are safer than women in India.
No one is born with these views. Not a single person. It is taught. From generation to generation. And I don't get it. I never have and never will. Some - if not most of it - is excused by religion. What a lot of crap. It makes my blood boil too.
I keep thinking about the tattoo artist yesterday, who asked me "so is this your first one :)" two minutes after I lifted my skirt to show her the font of my thigh tattoo as an example of what I want

Why…does it feel so different sending asks about girl idols? Like I’m chill to send an ask speculating like “who in skz be virgins” but to ask the same about twice or smth just feels inappropriate.
for me, it's bc i respect and admire the girl idols so thoroughly, i would hate to make them uncomfortable 😅 in a whole world that objectifies them, i don't wanna be one more piece of that, if i can help it.
they were insane for writing this 1 minute 25 seconds scene. the juxtaposition of lucas insisting mike obviously likes el so much vs troy and james showing up to say homophobic shit about will is insane.
Luffy not knowing about Zoro promising Sanji to kill him if he ever ends up losing himself makes me go feral because that's something they can only know about. Because Zoro's respect for life and death goes beyond anything, and Sanji knows he understands. Sanji knows that if somebody has to kill him, it's him.
And I don't even think it's because Sanji assumes Zoro's opinion of him is hatred and it would hurt less for him to do this, but because Sanji knows only Zoro would be able to treat the promise as it is. Because he would put Sanji's wishes before any feelings he has for him. It's not that Zoro doesn't care, but I think he respects people's ideals and decisions to the extent of being able to kill Sanji if he so desires.
That being said, he'd do it if there's no other way to fix it. If it's either dying or living as an emotionless machine, which is the same as dying for Sanji, Zoro would fulfill his promise. And there is just... Something about Luffy not knowing. Their captain. The man they're devoted to the most as if he were their God. Luffy doesn't know. It's something only the captain's wings are aware of and the thought of these two keeping this from Luffy until the end is just insane. Not even trying to make it romantic here, but the bond and respect these two have for each other is crazy.
Maybe it's the poetry of it all, too. Somebody like Zoro, who has looked at Death in her face multiple times and said "no", ending Sanji's life, who wants to give in to death to not experience a fate worse than death for him.
