Assassins as DSMP Characters
So i got really into this musical called "assassins" by steven soundheim, which is about 9 of the presidential assassinations (attemped and successful), and i was listening to "another national anthem" earlier today, and i got the random idea of it but with dsmp characters
It mostly started off from when I was listening to "the gun song" and thinking about SBI as the assassins there (Czolgosz as Techno, Booth as Phil, Guiteau as Wilbur, and Moore as Tommy). Then I was trying to think about the entire cast: that Czolgosz could really fit c!Techno, and then making the connection with Guiteau and c!Wilbur, Booth as c!Dream, the balladeer as c!Tommy, the proprietor as c!Ranboo or c!Phil (I leaned more toward c!Tommy), and then Byck as c!Ranboo
Keep in mind I haven't seen any recordings of the actual show, I just listened to the soundtrack and read about people's reactions to the show in comments and such. And also, it's been a while since I've consumed any primary sources for the dsmp, so I'm mostly going off memory (and I generally only watched Techno/Tommy's streams, though I did tune into others time to time)
I then fully fleshed out the whole sort of "cast" for "another national anthem":
Booth = Dream Zangara = Jack Czolgosz = Technoblade Hinckley = Sam Fromme = Karl Moore = Nihachu Guiteau = Wilbur Byck = Quackity Proprietor = Ranboo Balladeer = Tommy
For Booth and c!Dream, it was mostly cause they're both the most, like, "comically evil" of the bunch. I don't know exactly how to describe it but I'm sure everyone can get what I mean.
For Zangara and c!Jack, the whole sort of bitterness Zangara showed in "how i saved roosevelt" just reminds me alot of c!Jack's character, specifically the whole tommy anti plot that he had.
For Czolgosz and c!Techno, this was based on "the gun song" where Csolgosz' monologue about the workers strikes really similarly to c!Techno's anarchist opinions. I think in general communists and anarchists appear somewhat similarly to each other.
For Hinckley and c!Sam, Hinckley's whole bit in "unworthy of your love" just reminds me a lot about c!sam's "oh woe is me i do it for him"
For Fromme and c!Karl, I'm gonne be honest I don't remember why I made this connnection. In my notes I just wrote "karlnapity breakup." I feel like in general Hinckley and Fromme (and to a lesser extent Byck and Moore) don't really get much attention compared to the other assassins.
For Moore and c!Niki, same situation as with Fromme-Karl.
For Guiteau and c!Wilbur, it's because Guiteau is the most, like, manic!crazy of all of the assassins, which just reminds me alot of c!Wilbur. And just alot of beats from Guiteau's characterization feel VERY similarly to pogtopia!wilbur
For Byck and c!Quackity, I feel like Byck had alot of cynacism that feels very in line with c!Quackity's character
For the proprietor and c!Ranboo, I just feel like the proprietor is like sympathetic to the plights of the assassins, which to me felt very in line with c!Ranboo's whole "choose people not sides" bit he had going on. I was considering putting c!Dream here, considering he supplied people similarly to the proprietor in "everybody's got the right" but I thought that c!Dream would be better as Booth.
For the balladeer and c!Tommy, I just think that c!Tommy comes across as a stereotypical "oh but we must have hope no matter what!" shonen protagonist, and the balladeer just feels like a sort of antagonist to the assassins' cynical ideas, some people described him in "another national anthem" as if the embodiment of the American Dream (tm).
Here's the song if you're interested:

i wish i had a more definitive diagnosis for whats wrong with me. the worst of my symptoms don't seem to easily fit into any standard criteria. like, i have intrusive thoughts, thoughts that are so intrusive that they make me stop what im doing, or i end up talking myself out of something i was going to do because the thought is so painful/disturbing/foreboding etc. it happens a lot when im at my turntables, maybe because all of my senses are dormant except for sound, and im concentrating so hard on listening, or something. it's like my guard is down so my mind has a chance to storm through with upsetting thoughts or flashbacks or completely fabricated scenarios.
it's why i could never meditate. i used to describe it to a therapist as my mind being like a tall building, and my consciousness was on the ground floor, and the penthouse was full of these demons trapped at the top, and if i tried to empty my mind all of the guards would be absent, and then the demons would see that the way was clear and start stampeding down all the flights of stairs toward the exit/lobby. and i would be sitting there trying to meditate and clear my mind and could envision this dark cloud approaching closer and closer like i was being fucking hunted.
i read somewhere else that meditation doesn't really work for people with ptsd, or it at least has a shitload of prerequisites before someone can get to a point where they can effectively meditate. nobody (therapists included) ever told me that, like that i had to start out with bite-sized portions of meditation (like literally one minute at a time), for my environment to be comfortable and without any distractions, shit like that. they'd just say "oh go on youtube" and link me some 30 minute "meditation for beginners" shit. which imo is comparable to telling someone "just work out" when what they actually need is physical therapy. instead i would try meditating and have a panic attack, like someone with an injury throwing their back out trying to do basic exercises. then they'd say some stupid shit like "ohhh well thats why it's sooo important that you keep trying to meditate, let those thoughts come to you so that you can process them :)", essentially encouraging me to trigger flashbacks instead of having a discussion about why i might feel unsafe or why a method like meditation might invoke this kind of reaction. you dont tell someone with a broken arm to "just keep trying" to throw a baseball then go "no pain no gain!!1" when it hurts them to do it. you go, hey, actually, it shouldn't hurt to throw a baseball, let's check that out. like meditation is meant to be calming, it's not a fucking ayahuasca trip. if meditation is making me have actual panic attacks instead of calming me down, something is wrong.
i dunno im mad now lmfao. i have an appointment w a therapist FINALLY coming up in a few weeks and im really not looking forward to it. i think im gonna end up with another milquetoast "this woman streamed yoga from her bedroom during lockdown and look how many followers she has!!! she changed the world" bitch again
anyway i dont know why i get so many intrusive thoughts while trying to practice mixing but it bums me out fucking hard and sucks all the fun out of it. i have so many records and ive had my turntables so long and i can still barely mix properly because i only know how to mix in my headphones and 9 times out of 10 my mind likes to terrorize me

A Tale of Two Triguns
Or, How I learned to Stop Worrying and Love the PLANT
Hello out there. I recently finished up watching Trigun: Stampede with a friend, after having a rather viscerally negative reaction to the first episode. Well, I've come here after watching the whole show to say that it doesn't get much better. My ramblings below were meant to be sent to a friend initially... but I had so much to say I figured that a blogpost would be easier to share around my frothing rage. So if the prose starts rather garbled and stream-of-thought-like, I apologize, but bear with it to the end, or at least as long as you can stomach. So, the show is a mess as far as a timeline goes. Looking at it compared to the original, there are similar beats, but they don't line up right. And the show is trying to tell the Vash vs Knives story, but in a garbled way. To spoil it, the entire 12 episodes is a small timeline of events that happen in the original show. The problem is that aside from the overarching event, everything else is wrong. It could be trying to tell a prequel to the original, but if that's the case then they didn't do a good job because plenty of plot points from the original are in the prequel. Vash encounters a number of Gung Ho Guns that he would meet in the original show, not to mention meeting Meryl and Wolfwood, all before the event in the city of July. So, if it's intending to be a prequel, why does it just throw in a bunch of extraneous details?
Speaking of extraneous details, the new show has a cultish obsession with the lore of Vash the stampede. Not who he is or what he's done. In truth, Vash accomplishes very little in the realm of deeds, that aren't done off-screen or talked about as past heroic actions. But the show absolutely loves to talk about and involve the Sci-Fi parts of the original show in all facets of the new show, including adding special powers to Vash and Knives. Episode one has Vash save a PLANT that's going bad somehow. The nutty thing is that, despite the increased focus on PLANTs and Vash and Knives as weird offshoot PLANT entities, the new show explains very little when it matters. At one point near the end, a scientist man just asserts that the PLANTs are energy sources because they're conduits for accessing a higher plane of existence. Out of nowhere. He also "Explains" that Vash somehow has the ability to access that higher plane. This is only an explanation of why Vash's arm was consumed by a black hole in an earlier episode, it's never talked about as to why Vash has the power to do this while Knives, who is also an "independent plant" as they describe, cannot. This is one of many examples of the show treating PLANTs as some kind of common knowledge while really flippantly, if at all, discussing what they are and why they are around.
On the matter of not explaining, and to touch on the earlier issue of "temporal problems", the show has a nasty habit of progressing story beats off-camera, to an almost baffling degree. To give a few examples, Meryl and her partner (The infuriating exposition reporter "Robert De Niro") are marveling at vegetation in a biodome, and robert wants to go find a smoking area. The scene ends, the episode continues on. two scenes later, Meryl and Robert are in the middle of the PLANT storage facility, in….. somewhere. It's never shown how they got there, they simply appear. Hilariously, both characters don't know how they got there either, and since it's never addressed it's almost as if the storyboard itself shunted these two hapless side characters into the next exposition dump scene without them knowing. That's perhaps the most blatant example, but little fragments like that happen constantly. A character blows up, end scene. An episode later he's shown with bandages on him, so apparently he survived. In that same episode a child falls out of Meryl's grip in a static shot, then the shot ends. Come episode end, he's bandaged up and wounded somehow. It adds up to the show being a disorienting mess to watch at times, there's just too many blocks of missing time seemingly hacked out of the plot.
Oh, and the plot. The wonderful plot. So, this is already a spoiler talk, for both the new show and the original, but this is where I really burrow into those details so if you really don't want to be spoilered, stop here. The plot is a topsy-turvy mess that can't seem to muster up the brainpower to make sense of it's own details. The opening of episode one reminded me of the first star wars prequel. That's a great sign…. Anyhow, you meet the twins when they're young, at the Big Fall event where the entire Seeds project fails and crashes to earth due to Knives' meddling. How did he meddle? Guess. No I'm serious, the show simply states that Knives did it somehow, and apparently Vash "gave him the passcode" which makes him "an accomplice" which is it's own infuriating mischaracterization, but we'll get to that. So, Knives crashes all the space ships because "humans bad." After that, Vash runs away, and that's the last we see of (new) flashbacks for a while. They love to use the same flashbacks so the first few episodes have kid Knives saying "Vaaaaaaaaaaaaaaash~" in his silly voice, which is an amusing anchor point. Not amusing in a good way. Every flashback is a sore reminder of how awfully they're piloting the show.
Now right off the bat, the show has problems because it's trying to fit in references from the original show in a season that's half the size. Our first nostalgia story is Vash Vs the Nebraska Duo, which starts out much the same. Unfortunately it starts out under different circumstances that make it a more infuriating ride. In the original, Vash saves a diner from some small-time crooks, driving them out and receiving a free meal as a reward. However, upon realizing that he's Vash, the 60 billion Double Dollar outlaw, the town decides that they can turn in this relative stranger for a huge reward. The diner owner, who I believe is named Rosa like in the new show, says she feels sorry for doing it because he seems nice, but the town needs the money to survive. Antics ensue, because this is the og Trigun, and Vash is still his happy-go-lucky normal self. The Nebraksa Duo come in, hold the town hostage, and Vash swoops in to save the day, even after they all collectively tried to kill him. This warms the peoples hearts, how sweet etc etc. now, onto the new.
The storybeats are the same, with Vash saving the town… but here the ship leaves port, drifting away from believable into wishy-washy emotional gobbledeegook. So, episode one Vash saves the town from July police officers there to arrest him. The officer, for no real reason other than to show off a big flashy budget, fires a cluster missile into the air that breaks apart and will scatter all over town with bombs, destroying probably the entire area, PLANT included. Vash saves the day, though he does so in the rather ludicrous method of throwing a rock at a cluster of missiles wide enough to saturate the town with shrapnel, then shooting the rock so that it spreads and somehow air-explodes the whole cluster missile payload. Again, it seems to just want to be flashy, and having any sort of sense or logic isn't a concern. So, Vash is the hero of the town, and they all celebrate. Now, before I say this next story beat, Rosa, the tavern owner now, explains that, in addition to him just now saving the town, Vash also came by sometime in the past to save their plant. So that's twice he's saved the entire town out of pure charity. So, they decided to hold him up for ransom. The given reason is…. the same, they need the money to survive. What? No, seriously, what? They don't explain anything, Rosa just says she's a mom and has children and needs to feed her kids. So they're going to cash in 60 billion double dollars… for groceries. They can't be using the money to fix the PLANT, because Vash fixed it already, for free. And if the power structure around it was failing and they had to make repairs Vash couldn't do, then… why not say it? They don't, they just do it because this is the "town tries to ransom vash" episode. Antics ensue, although much more toned down (in tone, not in wacky spastic animation) antics this time around.
More differences come as the Nebraska duo show up, and instead of Vash escaping the town, they catch him, and the Nebraska duo decide to just steal him and take the bounty. A short lived and lame chase sequence happens, and then the duo is defeated. They immediately return to town and decide that they'll just steal the PLANT instead, marking the beginning of the new show's obsession with the hitherto mysterious space-age power source. They take the PLANT to the top of a long hallway, presumably to attach it to a crane because it's quite large. This also serves as an ultra-obvious setpiece for a confrontation. A confrontation is had, and in contrast to Vash using his gun and bullets to beat the Nebraska's without even really wounding them, this Vash just hops around like a 3d jumping bean before finally drawing to counter the Nebraska father's gunshot. Yes. He shoots the bullet head-on with his bullet. That's…. Alright for those that haven't watched, the original trigun had Vash pulling some really incredible stunts with guns and gun avoiding. The closest I can reckon to this feat of improbable "accuracy" is the water thief episode. To make my point simply, Vash is able to dodge someone's bullets fired at him from close range. The one firing realizes that he's able to read the trajectory of the bullets whizzing by by carefully watching the gun in his hand and how he aims it. That's far-fetched, sure, but it at least makes some semblance of sense for Vash to have learned over the many years of getting shot at. And while the explanation of "bullet trajectory" isn't entirely accurate, at close range and with proper spacing, Vash could make enough room to dodge where the bullet could go. Because gun's aren't laser-accurate, but the body can be flexible enough to give it the extra space to whizz by.
Now, going back to that gun's aren't laser-accurate point, Nebraska Sr. fires what looks like a standard handgun (I'm not going to go super nerdy because I'm not a gun nut, but I understand enough to go through this) at Vash, and Vash fires back with a .22 revolver. From what I can tell, he draws while Nebraska is firing, and is able to hit the bullet dead-center before it travels too far from the gun. That's… I barely know why I'm focusing on this one dumb shot among a million other issues I have, but It's not so much an issue of "a normal person couldn't do that" and more an issue of a level of superhuman not only required of the person, but the gun they're firing. And considering Vash is shooting just a regular revolver… sure, it's a nitpick, but it's one drop in the pan of this nonsensical stew I'm trying to chew through. Let's move on.
So, after that "gunfight", the beam the Nebraska's are on begins to fall. Sr makes a run for it, but Jr grabs the big PLANT because it's valuable. He almost makes it, making sure the PLANT gets to safety first which seals his fate of falling. Thankfully, he's got extending rope-arms like in the original, so he's able to grapple upwards, but his arm is slipping. Vash naturally grabs it, and Nebraska Sr is about to as well, when Rosa comes in again to bravely shoot at him for taking their livelihood. She's going to gun him down, the villainous scientiest… but he has a son and he loves him! It's about family, that's what makes it so powerful, truly words to live by. After that the story goes off on it's own strange and strained beat, which leads me into my next point.
Characters. Vash, centrally, is barely given anything to do in the new show. He's mostly relegated to moping around, and trying not to use his gun at all, except for a bizarre scene where he's beating up thugs with it as a makeshift tonfa. Not to say that Vash was a powerhouse of awesome might in the original show, but he was a much more active protagonist that got a lot more work to do. Almost half of the total runtime are small stories about Vash's character, his past, and the kind of person he is. Just looking for clips I was able to find 4 different episodes where Vash is either helping to save people, or trying to talk someone down from the ledge of killing someone else. Compared to the almost saccharine sweet message most often played in the new show. Vash just wants to help everyone and save them. It's the same message… but it's barely portrayed outside of him directly saying it. Adding into this teeth-cracking sweetness is the bizarre character choice to make him a character with a guilty conscience.
So, as far as I can reckon (because again, they do not show the backstory of the Big Fall, it just happens and Knives talks about how Vash was part of it), Vash feels guilty because of the just-mentioned help that he offered Knives. This "help" equates to him knowing a passcode that Knives doesn't, when the twins are snooping around ships records in the specimen storage room. They find a supposed third independent child, and pulling up their file also happens to release them from the floor, in what probably should be a horrific scene. It is on it's own, but that traumatic event is never talked about or discussed, only vaguely alluded to in the future. The event in full is a series of glass containers that house the third child, or what remains of it. It's rather gruesomely torn to pieces, and the bio-signs read out that it's still alive even in it's flayed state. This is, in what appears to be a theme, never expounded upon. Who was the third child? No idea. Maybe it's the same child shown later on in the show, although the scientist that created him certainly didn't make it sound like his creation was stolen from the body. Maybe I need a supplementary brochure to understand the deep lore that this show insists on bringing up, only to drop like so much trash soon after. Getting back to the passcode, however.
Apparently Vash knows the master passcode. Somehow. Not explained. Him using it to access the third child documents apparently was enough for Knives to memorize the password. Or he copy-pasted it? Again, it isn't explained, but it's the only "password" shown in the show so I have to just assume that's it. If that is the case, Vash having a guilty conscience makes no real sense, because even if he gave his brother the password, he did it in a completely unrelated outing that they both thought was innocent snooping. Sure, it certainly turned out to be a horrific event (that they never bring up again) but that's a flimsy foundation for his guilt. It could be that he's motivated by the desire to stop his brother's plans as he states in a later backstory section, which would make more sense at least, but once more, that resolution is brought on by his foster caretakers discovering the black box that recorded Knives telling Vash that he helped him by giving the password. He has no other stated reason for wishing to atone, so once more I must assume that his desire stems from the guilt of helping Knives. Helping knives in an unrelated scenario when neither of them knew better. I understand that emotions like guilt are strong and often irrational in real life… but when the foundation of your narrative is built on the sci-fi equivalent of a rom-com misunderstanding, the story will suffer for it.
And oh, does the lack of character not stop with Vash. Knives has argueably come out much worse in the hack job. He's been boiled down from his old self, remade into a strange and cartoonish brooding villain that is almost never, ever, not playing a piano. The man who systematically tracked down the blood-relative of Rem Saverem, killing him before Vash got there entirely to break his brother. Who then forces him to activate his angel arm and scour July from the map (yes, the city of july in the og was a past event if you recall my earlier ramblings) and is still angry and hurt when Vash aims his PLANT-mutated death-cannon at him. Because Knives is a deeply disturbed individual with a central idea that humanity is a waste of space, but he does love his brother. NuKnives maybe loves his brother, it's unclear and not well explained because he, like many other characters, is obsessed with PLANTs. His only real stated reason for wanting to kill the humans is when he's shown to be reading a history book, and he comments on how humans never change, and always have wars. Which is sophistry, to the highest order. He is a child so it's not as if that's an unreasonable take-away from an alien's perspective, but once more, the narrative suffers from weak motivations like that, regardless of how "realistic" they might be. Knives' motivation is also skewed off-kilter, as instead of living on a new world with his beloved brother, he now wants to create a new generation of stable, independent PLANTs that will survive and thrive in the new world. Again, not inherently terrible, but it's confused, muddled, barely explained until the ending where everything is dumped all at once. In fact, Knives and Vash's relationship can be shown by looking at each respective ending.
At the end of the original show, the climatic battle is between two brothers with opposing ideals that can't reconcile them with each other. They have a gunfight with each using one of the guns the Knives made for them to have. While Knives gains the upper hand, Vash hears the voice of Wolfwood, and uses his gun to regain control of the fight, and win. It's simple, it's really fun to re-watch, and can even be a little symbolic, with wolfwood's cross representing Vash's connection to human beings as a whole, that burden to them turning into a blessing that helps him win. Contrasted to the end of NuGun, which is an obnoxious orchestral-blaring city battle where Vash zips around on his magical devil wing while Knives follows and blasts away with magical PLANT-conjured knives. Of course shortly before this epic big big bigly battle, there was an episode where exposition and nonsense was shovelled down the viewers face as Knives unveils his master plan to turn Vash into a tree which will simultaneously engulf the world to kill all the humans, and forcibly impregnate all of the PLANTs he's collected to birth new independent PLANTs which he will imbue with souls by going to the higher dimension and tapping into the consciousness there, using his brother which he turned into a tree as the portal to go through, after erasing his memories, because apparently in order to turn into a portal tree person you have to have no attachments or memories. Vash turns the tables after his memory is wiped of Rem, by remembering a song that she taught to him (off-screen). Now, Rem's song is a motif in the original show, but from what I can tell with an untrained ear, the little melody Vash is singing isn't that, just some song he was taught. So, Rem Saverem, a character that has had less on-screen impact to Vash than his adoptive caretakers on the crashed ship, is the magic spark that re-awakens his memories. That would make sense… if you've seen the original show, and know the background of just how much Rem meant to Vash. Here… it's just a copout really. Now, If all of that sounds like nonsense, you're correct. If you think there should be more explanation, well you're also right, but the show has no answers for you. At once too much and too little explaining happens so that a slew of new pieces of information are cast to the wind, without a single string to ground them to actual NuGun-established reality. Vash is still saved by his connection to humanity, but keeping with the new show's theme, he is captured and loses all his memories over the course of 2 and a half episodes, before finally mustering up some main character gumption to fight back. It doesn't hit nearly as hard. Frankly it misses the mark of a hit at all.
To finish off this confusing mess of a story, Knives dies trying to reach a mcguffin cube, because Vash is able to "condense the gate energy into a tesseract" that will still open the gateway to the higher dimension…. which, I suppose is still bad? Honestly I don't know why it's still bad, obviously Knives doesn't have pure intentions and wants to kill humans, but as was shown, his actions already resulted in a bunch of pregnant PLANTs. If they don't get souls from the higher dimension will they… just become normal PLANTs? Search me. Vash wants to get rid of the cube because Knives wants it and will eventually do bad things with it. Okay… alright, there's such a deluge of nonsense at this point that I barely registered that initially, but okay. So, in what I'm sure was cool to see for those still invested in the show, Vash unleashes his Devil arm. Looking back at the clips from the og, Vash had the angel arm, and Knives the devil. It was a simple characterization, and as shown in the finally fight, the arm isn't connected to the person; it's connected to Knives gun's. But Knives didn't make guns in this show, so now Vash can summon the power of the devil arm with his newfound power of anti-creation…. or whatever (look he sprouts a black devil wing and flies around while holding a cube made of gate portal energy that he also made and condensed apparently by accident, or maybe on purpose. There isn't time for explaining, it's time for BIG BIG BIG ACTION SETPIECES!!!!) Vash uses his devil arm and wing to fly up into space to blast away all the tesseract energy, but Knives won't let him. So, Vash blasts, and Knives, rather than go around the massive beam, puts himself directly in it's line so he can get melted down in slow motion. I feel my stomach churn as I write that sentence because it sounds like a cinema-sins nitpick. It kind of is, but it's also another ridiculous bit of contrivance that Knives can't bring himself to pull out of the death beam stream and grab the cube from it's completely exposed side-hole, so I'm touching on it. Vash kills Knives, even if accidentally, and Knives' last words to his brother, are "Nai is dead, you killed him." I am baffled, on the verge of hiring a private eye to research just what the hell that even means. I don't know where Knives feels this big betrayal happens, since he's literally using his brother as a frozen in time gateway to achieve his perfect world, with no promise that he'll ever unturn him from tree back to brother. But he's still sad about it? Suddenly? After all of this? Because he has shown not a lick of remorse or sadness towards his brother ever since they parted ways after the Big Fall? I'm rocked to my core at how nonsense this line is. Anyhow, that's how the story proper ends, which moves us, blessedly, onto my final point.
Everyone knows Marvel properties. Everyone knows the Marvel movies. And at this point, many of you probably know about the more recent movies and how they have an audience clap-pause for when something you recognize comes on-screen. Famously used in the third spiderman movie, where Toby Maquire comes on-screen to dead silence for just a bit to allow the marvel fans time to clap and holler in the theatre. Thank the lord above there are no such egregious references in Trigun, but there are an insulting amount of "remember the old property?" moments. To name a few, obviously there are the members of the gung-ho guns that Vash fights in this new show, including Zazie the beast, who has been turned from tragic esper child who can control massive sandworms, to strange native-dressed child that can still control worms… but might also be a worm? She bursts into literaly swarms of flying little glow-bugs when shot at, but they don't explain that. Go figure. She's just made of worms now. There's Legato, who is a reference for old fans, not a character. He appears in 2, maybe 3 episodes back to back to meddle with Wolfwood, then fades away without even a face reveal. Maybe that's for the planned second season. I say that these are all references, not characters in the new show done differently, because they really don't have a lick of substance behind them, beyond the most forgettable of the og gung-ho guns who has been turned into a roided-up bane out to kill Vash. He also serves as the "wolfwood murders a child" catalyst, although again, there is almost nothing done about that issue, and Wolfwood continues to hang out with Vash after it's over (Seriously, stakes in this show are so low they're nearly subterranean). Beyond that there are bits of a large robot that looks like the Nine-Lives gun from the og. Cute. The most offensive nostalgia and sequel bait combined references are saved for the last minutes of the final episode, however.
Meryl pays her respects to the annoying exposition reporter Robert De Niro at the wrecked city of July. A voice comes over her radio, telling her that if she doesn't stop slacking, she'll be sent over to the insurance agency (she was an insurance agent in the og, which is a funnier occupation and makes more sense, as she and her partner are following Vash because he's a walking liability.) The voice also tells her that she's been assigned a new partner, a woman by the name of Millie Thompson. Yes, stun-gun Millie, one of the more jovial and light-hearted members of the original cast. She was an amazonian woman with a minigun that fired "stun-rounds" which seemed to consist of metal bars that would whack into people's chest and stop them in their tracks. Possibly also break ribs, but Millie isn't known for being smart, yet she's a wonderful part of the cast that adds to the initial levity. She's also Wolfwood's implied romantic partner, though they do only share a single scene together. The scene is adorable though, I would look up Trigun Pregnant scene to find it. I know that sounds like a bit, but that's the youtube title of it. Anyhow, after that stomach-churning force-feeding of 'member berries, the scene changes to a familiar face, telling Vash that he'll be okay and get over his "amnesia" soon, calling him Eriks in a reference to the mini-plot where he went underground under the same name in a fit of manic depression. It's unclear whether he actually has memory loss now, since the July incident did cause him to lose his memory. But really, with the amount of faith I have in the show's writing for this season, an eventual season two will probably botch that plotline over 3 episodes.
So… that's it. That's the entire thing, I've been expelling the bile built up in my neck after watching his sad trainwreck for quite some time, so if you're still reading then I both applaud and thank you for being interested. I truly didn't wish to hate on a show, but it's because Trigun is such a beloved property for me that this new rendition being made sloppy and shoddy gets to me so much. It's a confused mess that's riddled with a baffling number of cliches, bad writing, over/under explanation, an obsession with a sci-fi aesthetic, and a desperate attempt to have flashy animation that is a poor, slipping mask for the rest of the trainwreck. I mean… the animation did (mostly) look quite good. Having 3d models affords a great deal more general movement and crazy action on a tighter budget. They seemed a bit too Gung-ho (hah, reference) with the movement though, as some scenes of just talking featured quite a bit of bouncy wobbling model flailing, which just looks off-putting. The animation team clearly cared and tried their best to get creative, and there's a fun amount of camera swings and reels for the few actual fights the show has. Who knows, the friend I watched this with said a season two was already confirmed. I was appalled at the ending of Dragon's Blood season 2, and then 3 had me in tears. Maybe they'll be able to scrape and salvage this flaming pile, and get their nonsense together for a season two, as that will probably be a re-telling of the original story, considering this first season ends with what was a past event in the og, and ends with setup for Millie. But…. Oh dear god, but…. The season also ends with a shot of Earth, and a radio broadcast as a few personnel confirm that the SEEDS project fired a signal, and Zazie the plot-exposition Beast warns Meryl… for some reason, that humans will be coming. I am not even going to ask why the sentient pile of bugs that looks like a child knows that. I'm just not. I can't imagine that MORE sci fi, more bigger blastier actionier flailing, and more over-explaining concepts will benefit this show, and I don't have much hope that their "humans are coming to the desert planet" plotline will be anything but disappointing.
But hey! I like to remain positive, so at least the original show is still there. I have the Blu-Ray box set of it, I might just dig it out to watch once more! I mean, what's stopping me from re-living the amazing show from my youth? And for that matter, what's stopping you? There's plenty of ways to get a hold of it either online or physically, and I promise you that the original Trigun is at the least a better-written show than the new trashfire. It might be antiquated, I'm aware that not everything ages gracefully… and I'm also aware that some people just don't know what good media is. Pearls before swine and all that. But I won't judge! Honest. So give the original a watch. And hey, you could try the new show, if you really wanted. I don't think it will hold up, but…. Well, again, some people don't know what good media is. Any way you slice it, again, thanks for listening to the longest ramble I've had in a good long while. I hope it gave you something to chew on, or something to chuckle at. I'll see you next time.

Another Lancaster post
_____________________________________________
In the forest during the middle of the night Jaune are practicing his swordmanship in secret from everyone. Everyone except for Ruby of course. Which she help oversee the training and to help give pointer to Jaune.
Ruby: That's good Jaune just keep swinging that blade like that.
Jaune: Yes sensei!
Ruby: Good, now switch to side slash.
Jaune: Yes sensei!
Ruby: Way to go Jaune now switch to thrust.
Jaune: Yes sensei!
Ruby: That's right Jaune keep thrusting that sword... 🫦
Jaune: What did you say sensei?
Ruby: Oh nothing.... (I want you to take out your other sword and use it to thrust yourself inside of me. 😚)
Jaune: Then should I continue practice my thrust?
Ruby: (you should practice your thrust on me instead. 🫠) No that will be enough for tonight Jaune.
Jaune: I see... I can go another round if you want me to.
Ruby: (Ooohhh I bet you can... 😌) No that would be enough for today. And that's a sensei's order by the way.
Jaune: Thank you for keeping me company Ruby. You up for another night?
Ruby: (He should stop giving me this easy ball to bat with. But yes Jaune I want to do it with you night after night and even during the day if you wanted me to. ❤️‍🔥) Of course. Same time tomorrow night?
Jaune: Sweet! And speaking of sweet. I brought us a coffee.
Ruby: Oh thanks Jaune. You're the best. 🥰
Jaune: No problem sensei. Mind if I sit next to you?
Ruby: (I wouldn't mind if you even sit on me 😏) Of course not Jaune. Sit anywhere you want.
Jaune: Thanks Rubes. *sips coffee* So have I improved somewhat?
Ruby: If you are talking about your swordmanship then there's still some room for improvement. But if you talking about something else. I have yet to experience that with you unfortunately. 😉
Jaune: What do you mean by something else..? *shakes head* In any case on my question I take it I improved somewhat. That's a relief then. I was afraid that I didn't. Well I can at least tell Pyrrha that I at least made some improvement.
Ruby: Hey! Don't you know that it's rude to bring up another girl's name when you're alone with another girl right now. 😠
Jaune: I'm sorry Ruby I didn't know. I promise I won't do it again.
Ruby: 😮‍💨 Never mind... Knowing you. You probably the type of guy that screams another girl's name during climax..."
Jaune: What's a climax? Is it a new streaming site that didn't know about? Any way Ruby I'm not the type of person that will do whatever the thing you just said. I swear I won't do it again.
Ruby: No! it's not enough to just promise. What would happen if you have a girlfriend and you suddenly say the name of another girl. She would be devastated. 😣
Jaune: Ruby, I....
Ruby: Wh- what if I was your girlfriend. And you say the name of another girl to me. I - I don't think I be able to live with myself. 😫
Jaune: Ruby if you were my girlfriend. I would not even think about another girl...
Ruby: 🤯 Really!!!??? I mean. Prove it to me. 🥺
Jaune's hand reach for Ruby chin and held it closer so their faces are only inches apart from each other.
Jaune: Okay... Ruby. I love you. You are the only one in my eyes. I swear to you on my honor and on my family honor, that will love you and only you. I will never betray you I will be your knight and you will be my one and only Ruby Rose.
He then plant a kiss on Ruby's forehead to finish his demonstration. It took a while for Ruby to process what just happened but when it finally reaches her. Her reaction towards what Jaune just said to her can be described as incredible.
Ruby: WAHHHH!!! 😵
Jaune: Ruby are you okay?
Ruby: (No I'm not okay! How could I be after hearing that from you. You're such a playboy Jaune. ) I'm fine... 🫥
Jaune: I think I should still look for help...

I just played the demo, and I'm very intrigued!! I'm especially curious about Dahlia — a lot of players will be (quite rightfully) miffed at her after that banger of a prologue, so it'll be interesting to see how the interactions between Dahlia and the Knight play out. There's a lot of complicated threads to yank on there.
I don't think it'll be easy to act naturally friendly around her, not after that betrayal. Even if it was in a dream, the pain from that betrayal had to cut bone deep. The OC I'm using for my Knight values trust and loyalty above all, and never holds back on loving those he calls friends — so it's safe to say that Dahlia's betrayal essentially shattered a piece of his heart.
Personally, I think my Knight will be civil to her but will go out of his way to keep his distance. At first, anyway. Things may change if something like having to choose between helping Dahlia or ignoring her pops up, thus forcing him to break out of the distant neutrality he'd been keeping up with her. Of course, this is all hypothetical. Very very excited to see how the Dahlia situation unfolds!!
That aside, I!! The prologue!!! I have so many things to say?! The prologue was short, but so much emotion was packed in. The Knight's internal monologue, the way you describe the ROs' reactions, the setting, everything — my chest was twinging from the very first page, and by the end of it all, my heart was full on hurting.
I rarely get attached to a story so quickly. I want to see how this all plays out. I want to see my Knight lead this story to a happy ending (Assuming there is one, and if there is, my Knight will grab hold of it, because he's stubborn as steel and wants All his friends to be happy).
And I have to make a special mention of Oscar's scene. Because damn. So much raw pain. That fury, that heartbreak, that helplessness. The Knight's internal commentary, both pained and resigned.
I actually found myself connecting with Oscar the most out of all the characters present in the prologue. I think I'd react the same way, if I ever had to watch my beloved friend be executed for crimes that they may or may not have committed (I would refuse to believe it till the end, probably). I'd probably be furious — I'd go feral. Get complete tunnel vision. Do something stupid like try to attack a king. To hell with duties and titles and pretenses such as the crown and the king, for what's the use of those if I can't even save a loved one? And I'd rage at myself for being so helpless.
Then break down and cry, because I'm angry and filled with so much hatred that I wish I could burn them all to ashes with the heat of my fury — but I can't. I'm not some powerful magical being who can make everything right if I'm angry enough, if I'm stubborn enough. I'm a helpless bastard who can only bend and buckle under the weight of their duties and helplessness and watch as their beloved friend is sent to die an unjust death.
So the raging fury turns into a roaring tide and floods out of my eyes in fiery streams.
So, anyways. Yeah. I love Oscar. If that wasn't already clear <3
I just!! I'm currently the epitome of that one meme where some crazed looking skrunkly is grabbing you very very tightly by the shoulders. Your prologue made me feel so much! It made me feel so angry and so so sad!! It made me love and adore a completely new character with just one scene!!!
Logically, I know that was a (possibly definitely prophetic) dream. My Knight knows as well. Normally, I'd play an MC who's skeptical of anything that comes from dreams. But the emotions and heartbreak felt so, so real. It's hard to rationalize away all that raw emotion. It's hard to believe that none of that was real. My Knight can't summon an ounce of skepticism right now. You could say that the level of your writing made me change my play style from the get go :D I imagine that the weight of it all is going to leave the Knight more than a little out of sorts... and they'll probably have a hell of a time figuring out how they want to react to it.
Is the Knight even friends with half of the RO's in the Present Time, the time after they wake up from their dream? There's a possibility they don't even know each other yet, or aren't very familiar with each other yet. I only thought about that possibility just now :o
I feel like my Knight's thought process would be something like this...
Knight: Alright, so that was a dream. I think it was. Should I really trust a dream?
Knight: But damn did that hurt though *still feeling the echoes of the utter heartbreak wrought by the betrayal of dream!Dahlia, who was supposedly a friend*
Knight:
Knight: You know what. Maybe I should just be a Mysterious Stoic Loner from now on. Avoid everyone. What's human connection? Who needs love and friendship anywa—
Ahem. What I'm saying is, I'm hopelessly enamored with your story and world and characters, and I'm very much looking forward to going on this journey with you :D
Good luck with your writing!! The prologue is incredible, if you didn't get that from all the ramblings I've done in this monstrosity of an ask! I love Oscar! Thank you for sharing this amazing world with us. Take all the time you need for your next update. We'll be here :D I hope you have a very very good day! And week! And if you managed to read this till the very end, you're a real trooper! 😌✨
Thank you for your kinds words! It's very interesting to hear people's opinions in such strong detail. I agree that most people will be miffed with Dahlia and that was the reaction I was intentionally looking for (at the time). Despite me changing my plan on what I want to do with her, I wouldn't change the prologue at all. As for interactions...well, I plan to leave that as a surprise for now.
I agree that it'd be hard to trust someone who you knew would end being responsible for your death in the future, but I'd like to add that the MC has been having these dreams forever, but they aren't all negative. They also don't all connect to the same future, i.e a dream with a friendly Dahlia is not (necessarily) in the same timeline as one with an antagonistic Dahlia. So depending on the MC, that makes it either more heartbreaking or confusing (cause remember, the MC doesn't even know who Dahlia is).
"Things may change if something like having to choose between helping Dahlia or ignoring her pops up, thus forcing him to break out of the distant neutrality he'd been keeping up with her." Funny how I have such a scenario planned out >:) of course, there will be times where it's necessary to interact with her...because it's your job. I won't spoil anything, but there is a section of the game where you'll have to protect her...or not. When people aren't looking, anything can happen.
I wanted to leave it as a surprise, but for the next update, I've added another reaction the prologue, along with some...little additions.
Oscar's scene was the one I think I wrote the best. I think I wrote it a bit too well because it's leaving me unhappy with how I wrote Oran's. I can't wait to write out the entire prologue again when we reach that point in game. Of course, things will be very different depending on your choices and relationships.
I'm not too sure how I'd react in a situation like the prologue. I feel like I'd be a mix of Oscar and Oran; being so emotional, yet driven to such despair. No one wants to see someone they love be put to death, whether it be justified or not. It's hard to think about until you're put in such a situation. Everyone in that dream (even Dahlia) held some kind of love for the MC.
The weight of the dreams definitely leaves the MC a lot confused! I plan to have the events of them mentioned from time to time, especially in regards to Dahlia. It'd be difficult for the MC...just as it was for a certain someone...
The only people the MC knows when they wake up from the dream is Oscar, obviously, and Oran, although they aren't close at all. Adrean is non existent until the summoning, Dahlia isn't even on Hollas and Rionna has never been to Vol and as such, never met the MC. MC has had a very isolated childhood and has only really interacted with royalty and such.
I relate to your MC's thought process! But I shall disturb that by introducing likeable characters that will in no way affect your ending 😈 You come in with the mindset of distancing yourself and go away with lifelong friends and memories.
Once again, thank you for your kind words! Your ask was very nice to read and has really lifted my spirits with your enthusiasm! I hope to hear from you again in the future! I hope you have a lovely week and a very good day.

Episode 7: The Fey Realm.
If high fantasy's your thing, have we got a show for you today. Cursed swordsman, mysterious faerie realms, and grappling with destiny. Just make sure to get your seat before the lights go down.
The Good.
I appreciate Keyleth's freak-out after they realized they were separated from the gnomes and Grog. Too often, when characters don't get a moment to be distraught, it makes the stakes feel lower than they should. Or makes it feel like the cast doesn't care about each other all that much. So that was refreshing.
Also, good call to split up the group. That makes it easier for the show CRew; no need to figure out how to write and animate seven characters at once. Plus, that divides the audience's attention, making the plot easier to follow. And in smaller groups, it gives individual characters more time to shine.
Serious kudos is deserved for the design of the Fey Wild itself. Young Heller, episode director, and guest for the watch along, nailed it on the head when he described the Realm of the Fey as a character unto itself. Honestly, it comes across as even more alien and other here than it can in the game. Unless the DM wants to change things up, the game mechanics don't vary that much when you hang out there. So it can feel like only another weird area among many, depending on the story you're trying to tell.
Watching Craven Edge soak up Pike's blood from a distance while she's trying to heal, without even a wielder, is disturbing. It gives the impression that if left unchecked, this thing could turn into something even more dangerous than it already is.
Getting rid of Craven Edge was more involved in the stream, so they knew they had to make its destruction here brutal enough that it felt like death for the sword. For my money, they managed it; Grog breaking the sword had the visceral impact of a bone breaking in half. And the small ocean of blood it expels is like all its power and evil being released back into the world.
Holy shit Billy Boyd as Garmelie. He is perfect; the design and Billy's performance are just spot on what I would imagine a native fey creature to act like. Whimsical, self-interested, sort of smart ass, charming as all hell....everything about it is fantastic. I only wish we could've seen more of him. No notes.
Well, except for Garmelie's notes which....yeah, exactly right. Absolutely accurate to the stream. What a fabulously gross, cheeky little gremlin man.
My reactions to Pike and Scanlan's song, in order:
Oh, is this the song Sam hinted at during the pre-season interviews?
Wow, Ashley and Sam sound great together. They should do more duets.
...Wait, what are those lyrics?
These ridiculous little shits. (<-affectionate)
If you know, you know. But if you don't, it's just a good song.
Don't think we didn't pick up on those nine eyes Vex saw when she was sliding into a bad trip. It's weird and ominous to think that, in this universe, that's still around. And that the person who will trigger the confrontation with that whole thing....technically isn't even born yet.
I can't say enough about how pretty the Fey Realm is. Just....so gorgeous at every point.
And, of course, Cheech Marin is Trinket. Of course, he is.
The Bad. (Or at least not great.)
One thing that bothers me is that there are two angles they tried to hit in this episode that, due to poor execution, just...don't work. One is Percy being a more ineffective guide to the Fey Realm than he thinks he is, and the other is that the Realm Does Not Like the Matron's Champion in general on life vs. death principles.
When Percy warned the half-elves that the forest they were traveling through could pick up on a poor mood, we all knew what would happen. Vax has, understandably, been in a funk for days. So it wasn't hard for the audience to guess that the negativity-detecting plants would take one look at this boy and collectively go: get his ass.
Percy wasn't wrong about the vines; Vax was never going to be able to pass through them unscathed.
Likewise, when the rest of the group seems to think Percy doesn't know where he's leading them or is lost, that idea is undercut by the fact they've just reached the upside-down waterfall. The very same waterfall from Scanlan's vision of where Fenthras was. So the visual tells the audience Percy is actually on the right track, no matter how skeptical of him the group is in-universe.
As for Vax, the encounter with the mood forest muddles the idea that the Fey Realm is against him because it doesn't like death-aligned individuals in general.
Because Vax was initially attacked due to his emotional state, the potential takeaway was that the Fey Realm doesn't like bad vibes. And Vax is nothing but bad vibes right now.
It's another case of the script and the dialogue telling us one thing while what's actually happening tells us something contradictory. It's frustrating.
More Grog nerfing....eh. Makes a little more sense than some of the Season 1 moments, and it makes the fight in Episode 10 go even harder, but it still feels a little cheap to me. If I'm going to be nitpicky.
And that's about it. Next is a good one folks. See you there.

Chapter 3: Menomenon
Basic plot so far: Edward acts weird, saves her from a car accident with strange powers.
Isabella Character Updates: it is getting harder for me to discern what is intentional, and what is unintentional, in Isabella’s character development. She’s a young teenager so you’d expect a lot of rough edges, so I’m not going to hold her terrible behavior against her. The text of the story doesn’t seem to refute her though, and seems at times to reinforce the weird lens she views the world from. In this chapter she throws a number of fits because going to the hospital after being in a car wreck makes her...look bad to the rest of the school? There’s a point where she’s acting all indignant about having to get medical tests done as if smashing your head on the pavement isn’t a big deal, and then she gets pissy when her friends try to see if she’s okay. Isabella is a massive mess of character traits that don’t seem to make any sense. She’s a loner, she likes being alone, but she constantly frets over what other people think of her. Except when they like her and want to be around her she hates it. This is supposed to be something like, 'I hate people, but I still want them to like me', which kind of makes sense except for the part where Isabella acts disgusted when they DO like her as well.
Oh, and she hates lying, even though she does it constantly (and even though she’s bad at it). I suppose I’ll just throw up my hands here and say ‘she’s a teenager, she’s still figuring herself out!’. Or maybe SHE’S the real vampire. That would explain all her bizarre reactions pretty well.
Edward Watchlist Updates: We can add ‘low, frantic’ and ‘soft’ to his voice descriptions now. In addition his arms are described as ‘long and white’. His face is ‘livid, glorious’, because of course it is. The author seems to have a real big preoccupation with whiteness, it comes up frequently. Is it a symbol of something? A metaphor? An unfortunate case of an author not doing a good enough job disguising their fetish? Only time will tell.
Since there’s some snow in this chapter, I guess we know it's winter-ish. We’ll keep that in mind so we can track time going forward!
As a brief aside, there are lot of sections of text so far that I've been noting down as 'logistics'. There is a strange preoccupation with describing how characters get somewhere, or some scenes describing menial actions of no consequence, which don't seem to serve any purpose. I suppose it's to build some kind of slice of life atmosphere? The cynic in me wants to say it's to pad out the word count or is the result of poor planning. I've seen new writers lean on logistics before as a kind of mental filler, something that puts words on the page so it feels like the story is progressing. This seems common when writing in a 'stream of consciousness' way, but in this case it's the author's consciousness and not the character's. The most common example of this is the cliche of having a character wake up, prepare for the day, then head out. Rarely do these scenes add any important information about a character, but they do let the author walk through the scene in their head and start making decisions about how the rest of the story unfolds. In and of itself it isn't bad as evidenced by it's ubiquity but it becomes more and more noticeable in Twilight as we get scenes that are just her walking to class or repeatedly describing what she's making for dinner. Maybe that's just a quirk of first person storytelling!

ATTENTION: This is some recent information about the current events with Chris Chan that I've been able to find, plus additional information that I couldn't find anything on that is now public knowledge.
ALL videos about any updates will be linked so you can watch them for yourself, if you wish.
Again, OBLIGATORY trigger warning: This post will be going into very sensitive subject matter, including r@p3, s3xual assault, elder abuse, and inc3st. I will also be mentioning the site Kîwî F@rm$ and the person who runs it (Null). DON'T go onto Kîwî F@rm$. Just stay away from there. It's like 4chan (another site full of REALLY fucked up shit, depending on which forum you go to), but worse.
If anything I mentioned is triggering for you or makes you otherwise uncomfortable in any way, you don't have to read this post. It's not worth putting yourself in a bad state mentally. Take care of yourself, please. Consume media that sparks joy for you.
ALRIGHTY, LET'S GET TO IT. Because there's quite a lot of bullshit that happened since the first post I made about the current events. And some more information that will most likely be the nail in the coffin for Chris. I'm patiently waiting for more updates as they come and I'll share them here as soon as possible.
The person Chris was in a call with was revealed to be a troll under the name "Bella". The screenshots of messages and the audio from the call have all been confirmed to be real.
It's also been revealed that Chris confided in Null about her having a girlfriend, having s3x with her, all that. Here's a list of things to describe this "girlfriend" below, which I will compare to Barbara in bold:
This woman is "in her over fifties". (Barbara is eighty years old. Most people would assume that someone's in their late fifties when this terminology is used. Eighty is well over fifty.)
Her favorite person was the late Adam West in the 60s, as it was "for her son back then". (I don't know if Chris is referring to her half-brother Cole Smithey [he does movie reviews, and he's most famous for being one of the only people to give Toy Story 3 a negative review] here, or if she's referring to herself before she came out as trans. I'm adding this here anyway.)
Chris has known this woman "for a long time", offline and in-person. (OBVIOUSLY she's known Barbara her whole life, since she's, AGAIN, HER MOTHER! DUH.)
They've been having s3x "every three nights". (Like how Chris admitted to doing to her defenseless mother. PRETTY FUCKING FISHY, IF YOU ASK ME.)
They began having s3x on June 27th. (The same day that Chris admitted to doing to Barbara.)
This woman was an accountant when she was younger. (Barbara's job was EXACTLY this.)
Chris said she feels grateful to "enlighten" her girlfriend with s3x play that she (the woman) "missed from even her exes". (I didn't mention this in my initial post, but if you chose to watch the videos that were linked, Chris mentioned that Barbara's boyfriends and ex-husbands "have never been able to make her 0rg@$m" like Chris did. SHE EVEN MENTIONED HER LATE FATHER. THAT'S FUCKING DISGUSTING AND DISRESPECTFUL.)
Chris has been "keeping her girlfriend safe" too. (She had been "taking care of Barbara" since Bob, her late father, passed away. This right here is proof alone that she was talking about HER MOM!)
Her girlfriend "didn't want to do it at first", it was "very painful" for Chris's girlfriend in the beginning, and it took a few tries for them "to get going". This included Chris doing it FOR her because she thought her girlfriend would "feel better" due to her lack of mobility and lucidity. (Chris said all of this exact stuff TO "BELLA" during their call.)
Null initially thought that Chris was lying about sleeping with her mother to cover up the fact that she had a girlfriend and having s3x with her. Why? Because apparently people would believe Chris would have s3x with her mother than some other unknown woman. Chris told Null to keep her girlfriend's identity secret because she was afraid her girlfriend would get trolled and she'd end up losing her.
What Null realized was that what Chris told him completely matched the description of Barbara. Note that before he looked into this, he was unaware of the context Chris was giving him about her "girlfriend".
It's extremely possible now that Chris admitted to s3xually assaulting Barbara to Null and "Bella", but she wanted Null to keep it confidential. Chris wanted NULL to keep the fact that she admitted to committing a VERY serious crime A SECRET.
If Chris WAS actually lying, she'd use a lot more CWCisms (her own phrases) or say that she was "using her psychic powers" to have s3x with Barbara's fictional counterpart in another dimension. But no, Chris was VERY straightforward and talked about it casually like if you were to talk about the weather.
Chris, according to Null, slept in a parking lot in her car the other night. At least for a few hours, though I don't remember where the FUCK else she slept (maybe a hotel room eventually), considering she had -$200 in her bank account. I believe some people who are in contact with Chris sent her some money to get food too.
Null revealed that he set up a GoFundMe previously for Chris to attend a Brony convention, which was a test to see how Chris would be able to handle commissions. The GFM was successful, to say the least. Chris fulfilled commissions successfully, DESPITE NOT WORKING ON THE FUCKING COMIC. Y'KNOW, THE THING SHE'S PAID FOR ON PATREON TO DO!
Well, due to recent events, he has since taken down the GFM and is refunding all the money to all the donors. He was debating on sending Chris money (the GFM money, since Chris isn't able to go to the Brony convention), but he decided not to do so. He told Chris to sleep in her car, spend the night under the stars, and reflect on her current situation until the morning, when Null would help her find a temporary roof over her head until August 5th.
Barbara tightly manages Chris's finances. Those are Null's words, not mine. You want to know why Barbara's been having trouble with the house and shit? CHRIS HAS BEEN STEALING MONEY FROM HER FOR YEARS. HER CREDIT IS ALL SORTS OF FUCKED, SHE'S BURIED IN DEBT, AND IT'S CHRIS'S FAULT. THE PERSON WHO'S SUPPOSED TO BE TAKING CARE OF HER.
How did we find out about Chris recently getting more money, specifically $750? Well, Null has had access to Chris's emails for the past few years (Chris knows this), and he found an email that Barbara had sent Chris money.
That's a violation of the EPO (Emergency Protective Order) that was put into affect for Barbara. Chris was NOT supposed to contact Barbara in ANY way, shape or form.
Null asked Chris about this and told her that this was a violation of the EPO. He asked her if her mom sent her money. Chris denied it at first, and then went into the whole goddess bullshit she goes into. She then admitted to accessing Barbara's banking account online and wiring the $750 to HER account. Chris also said that she'd pay her back the $750 after receiving the $1000 that Null was supposed to send to Chris. Null was obviously upset with what Chris had done. Who wouldn't be?
Guess what Null did in reaction to what Chris told him? HE BLOCKED CHRIS AND REPORTED HER TO THE POLICE. I'm honestly surprised he stuck with her this long. He genuinely wanted to see Chris become a better person.
It's only a matter of time for Chris's arrest. With all this information that's out there now, more information probably coming very soon, plus people close to Chris confirming all of this....I feel it's safe for me to say that Chris did s3xually assault her mother.
I don't feel bad for Chris anymore. I have no sympathy for Chris. Any ounce of respect for this person has been long since gone. I don't feel comfortable even referring to Chris as a person. She's a monster.
I talked about Chris a few times a few years ago on Instagram, and I got yelled at for tearing this motherfucker apart. Because apparently I was an "ableist bully" for having my grievances with Chris, despite the fact that I'm autistic too and I've never "bullied" Chris for being autistic. Not even once. My grievances had more to do with Chris using her mother and their animals to exploit them for her own monetary gain INSTEAD OF TRYING TO FIND A JOB. I've even tried to suggest that she go work through a temporary work industry and get paid daily. (At that time, I didn't know that trying to interact with Chris wasn't a very good idea. I've since learned, obviously.)

If someone were to describe my personality, I think the best way to describe it would be "Entertainer". Most everything I do is designed in some way to entertain people. I enjoy being the center of attention, which is something I knew from a young age. But, I'm not the sort of person who automatically demands attention, I prefer to earn it.
Problem is the fact that most of my adolescence was spent being sheltered in a few different ways, so while people spent their years learning how to be social, and creating these circles both in and out of the Internet, I was swinging a stick in my backyard like it was a sword, and not having any friends. I never had a friend until 5th grade, and he was the only friend that I have made by myself. In high school, I was in a group of friends, but that group barely stuck together through graduation, and completely died when college started.
I'm doing better for myself, but I don't have any social circles. I can literally see all these social circles around me, but the connective tissue between them all is something that I can't relate to, so I'm still left out over there. So, to get people to even know that I exist, my only options are to try to use the systems I never learned how to properly use.
Basically, I really enjoy making things, and I love how I can use streaming to give it more of the spark I try to put into things. I've always preferred playing games in more of a showy way, even when I'm by myself. And, I really like doing art with an audience, where they can interact with me more, and I can teach and learn from them as I go.
But I have no social circles. My best friend is pretty tech-illiterate, my other friend is in a completely incompatible time zone, and even then I'm keeping the fact that I'm trans close to my chest because I'm terrified at what the reactions would be if I came out to people, but I'm openly trans online. And online, I still don't have social circles. I try to invite people over, but they don't seem particularly interested in it, or I try to join with others, but I find that to be very challenging.
Basically, I'm a performer who has no social skills, and that prevents me from actually entertaining more than a small handful of people. This is the most frustrating part of it. I don't know how well I actually entertain people, because I never get any sort of feedback, whether it's positive or negative, so I try to do my best, but is my best enough? Do people enjoy my snarky comments? Do they find my thinking through my strategies out loud annoying? How's my voice? How can I better show the subtle emotions I feel sometimes? How can I get more people interested, or at least get what people are already interested to let their friends know about me while not coming off as a conceited asshole?
I don't know the answer to any of these questions, and it's eating at me. I'm not going to stop, I've tried to just sit here and enjoy other people's content, but that's not my character. I just don't know how to improve what I do.
Sorry this is so long, it's more of a rant than anything. It's just something to get off my chest.

First about the story from Emmie: I have no doubt that this story is true. If you look at the time that this happened it was in December 2019, which is the time that he described himself as being "coked out of his mind" in an interview and also the time where he was every day in the studio with Travis and every night in the clubs. This was only a couple of months after his anger came out on stage (after the Chantel break up) and he promised on Twitter to get help for his anger issues. I assume that certain drugs in combination with alcohol and his personal issues and demons bring out the worst in him and make him easily snap at others and change his mood drastically within one second. We can only hope that eventually he will get the help he needs and learn to control his emotions better, because I truly don't believe that he's rude to people because he's just an asshole. I think that he's used to feeling attacked by others and therefore having to defend himself by appearing tough to the point that when even nobody is attacking him, he misunderstands their words and overreacts as if they had insulted him. I don't want to defend his actions, because I think that he was in the wrong and overreacted, but I believe that if he had been in a sober and healthy mind set he would have reacted in a better way.
Then the house situation: I don't know if only Megan is renting that house or if both of their names are on the contract, but I'll give you a couple of my reasons why even in the latter case I still don't believe that Kells moved in with Megan for real and he's staying there the whole time as they want us to believe it. By the way I'd like to call that house "content house", because that's where they seem to be filming all their content for Instagram nowadays as if they only rented it for that reason ^^! Usually when you move in with your girlfriend you bring all your belongings which isn't the case with Kells. His cars are still parked at the boys' house although the content house has enough space for multiple cars to be parked there and if he was serious about moving in, why leave his cars at his old house? Often in the background of the pictures and videos from that house you can also see his bag as if he was living out of it whenever he stays over and only packed it for a night. Then you can't always see him, but sometimes you could still hear Kells in the background of the guy's Instagram stories, proving that he's still at his own house during the day and night. Also I'm pretty sure that when Casie is in L.A. he didn't took her to Thousand Oaks, I'm pretty sure she spent most time at his actual house with him and the boys. Which also brings me to the point that if both Kells and Megan would be living there 24/7, they would also have to live there half of the time with Megan's children and neither of them, not even sources, have made it sound like that. That they were already living a domestic patchwork family life like that, although that would have been at least then a true story (if it was true) instead of their fake marriage and baby stories that they're constantly pushing. But my biggest reason is the live stream that Kells had this year where he was making breakfast for himself and Megan as if they were actually living there together and he wanted to show us a day in their life as a couple ^^. Too bad we already figured out that this wasn't true because he had slept at his own house that morning and only drove to the content house to do the live stream and get content for Instagram. During the live stream he didn't appear as if he had been fully living there since November. He rather acted and looked like a guest in Megan's house when he had to ask her where to put the egg shells. And although he won't cook often, if he had been living there since November, I'd assume he would have also made a couple of breakfast eggs by now and wouldn't have to ask Megan anymore where to put the trash as if this was the first time for him ever to make breakfast there. Megan also had no idea, but to come back to the children, if she has been living there since November and had the children over half of that time, how could she not know where to put the egg shells? It's one of those simple things you figure out in the first couple of days living in a new place even if you never cook in my opinion. And also the only moving rumours were shut down a day later and revealed as false. Therefore I heavily doubt that Kells seriously moved in with her. I don't doubt that he spends time over there and brought a couple of belongings like his coffee mug when he goes there, but he still seems to be living out of a bag and as if he's just over to visit his girlfriend and not to live in his new house with Megan and her children.
Despite not actually living there, another reasons why he might not be there so often might also be explainable with the tea that their landlord spilled about them. We've already talked about that comment under a DailyMail article where the person claimed that despite the public appearance, these two actually fought a lot to the point of breaking up and now their landlord painted the same picture, because if Megan once got so mad that she kicked Kells out of the car and made him walk to the house, which is a heavy reaction, I have no doubt that this wasn't a one time thing or the first time, but rather just one example of many where they heavily fought or at least Megan and their neighbours will have a lot more stories like that one to tell! Just think about that DailyMail comment and how Kells and Megan always seem off and never fully happy and relaxed at the same time, but one of them is always disinterested and their PDA even looks performative and staged. If they constantly fight, no wonder they could never build a close and loving relationship between them. They just showed that at the Billboard Awards. I honestly believe that these two constantly fight and argue, which explains the bad mood and distance between them and how their PDA looks so performative and forced for the public and that with the time more real stories about how their relationship has actually been going will come out and embarrassingly expose them for the fake image that they created about their too good to be true love story. We'll see what happens once their lease is up.

second part of that long ask from ur swf anon :)
after the main dancer was chosen for each class, they would complete the choreo and decide formations for their performances. one of the benefits of the main dancer was that they were always center. they also had the benefit of wearing more embellished clothing to stand out (most noticeable in x class, where rian the main dancer was wearing orange while everyone else was wearing green). here is the full list (mnet truly has the WORST camera angles, so i only included the full cam ver of the performances):
1. assistant class: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aF2evLz98h4&ab_channel=MnetTV
2. leader class: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=srjJzRVVmxc&ab_channel=CHANNIECHANNEL
the judges shared that even though no:ze was the main dancer/in the center/had the most shiny outfit, they didn't really see her. all the other dancers, in their opinion, stood out and overpowered her.
3. sub class: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mY_3E7W8v30&ab_channel=CHANNIECHANNEL
4. x class (i'm not sure what this class was called): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fC-_8fbn_s4&ab_channel=Whatthejess
judges shared that lip j was the stand out of this class. she's the girl on the far left at 0:36. (it was originally her choreo but rian was chosen as the main dancer so that's why she is credited.)
*i only included comments that were stand outs.
-
i'm not sure how much creative input the main dancers were given regarding stage design... they didn't show it in the episode so i'm assuming that mnet just told them to show up and perform (because like, the rainbow thing they shot at the end of the leader's performance seemed so random? it didn't match what they were doing). after each performance, the main dancers from each class were asked to pick someone who they thought was the worst dancer. in doing so, the person chosen would lose points for their crew.
judges also chose an mvp crew they thought were the best. prowdmon (monika + lip j + others [sorry i don't know their names. the show really only focuses on these two]) was selected and this gave them the advantage of choosing which crews went against each other in ep4. so, it wasn't a random lottery draw! in the episode, they only showed the part where prowdmon chose to go against wayb (context: no:ze, the main dancer from the leader class, chose monika as the worst dancer. and this made her mad so she was like we're going against wayb - no:ze's crew). i'm not sure why they didn't show how the other crews were paired up. because ya, coca n butter + hook is definitely an interesting match.
also like, wayb was eliminated from the show after ep4's mission.
-
and it seems like from here on out, there will be a mission each episode to determine who will be eliminated. i'm honestly not too sure. for their next mission, they're doing a mega crew mission and mnet doesn't really explain it; but it seems like each crew is doing a performance on a larger scale (with more members added to their crew). also, like mnet is ass and doesn't upload all the performances onto their channel..... they only upload the ones that were the most popular/had the biggest public reaction which is why i had a hard time finding the clips for the classes mission. hopefully they do from here on out.
another v long post. thank u again for reading and sharing ur thoughts! always love hearing them. (also, pls let me know if i'm oversharing. u mentioned not caring for the competitive nature and drama so i'm not sure if i was adding too much. there really isn't drama imo. mnet tries to do their best to edit and make it seem that way but when u watch the show, the girls truly root for each other and are friends.)
mnet truly has the worst camera angles i hate them so much. also why are they still streaming on a goddamn potato. the quality is SO bad i can barely see anything!! there's a lot of me complaining in this one i'm sorry in advance.
1. assistant class
i have to assume that whoever they chose as the main dancer is the one that stays in centre because i cannot tell from the clothing at all. i don't think she was a standout performer here, but also the camera and the fire effects are WAY too wild to actually get a good grasp on who even was the standout. i also have to assume that the dancers have no say in the design because design is not a big part of street dance and this kind of chaos screams m 'too-much-money-dont-know-how-to-use-it' net. they built this massive set, barely used it, and didn't leave enough room for the proper formation spacing!! ugh. i hope the judges actually got to see a locked off version of this without all that fire in front of the camera because if i were them i would be squinting down the end of my glasses like a grandma at the screen. that's what i was doing anyways but still.
2. leader class
i have to agree, i don't think noze stood out as the main dancer here. and geniunely i cannot tell that they embellished her costume more. like damn, that stylist took a masterclass in subtlety, because i was easily paying more attention to whoever was wearing those massive thigh high cutout garter stockings and woven bodysuit combo. i am assuming that the point of these challenges was probably to be noticed the most so that they can score points and pick who they went up against for the elimination round? i'm not entirely clear but my point remains; ngl i don't really like this method of creating performance because it means that no one is there to create a performance, yanno? troupe/group choreo like this thrives on teamwork to actually make it a good performance. i know it's a pretty classic method of weeding out people for auditions and stuff like that but personally i find it a wholly uncompelling viewing experience, especially when it's a fully produced stage like this. i know everyone very likely gets along behind the scenes but the incohesion of intent is very obvious. also what's up with the assistant class getting a massive set and the leaders getting a bunch of cars and some smoke pyrotechnics? i mean, i am glad they filmed it during the day, but i am confused by the disparity.
3. sub class
i wish i could describe how poorly mnet shot this. it's not a fucking mama stage, it's a dance stage!! we need to see the choreo properly!!!! and together!!! obviously i don't care about stitching together different takes for the final edit but just...not having a continuity at all in the choreo is a bit jarring. again, i am also not sure how one is supposed to evaluate how well these dancers did, because i can barely see what people are doing. or who the main dancers are. i know i'm railing a lot on mnet here but i can't give an accurate reading of the dancers because legitimately it is so hard to tell what's going on. if they want to bill this as a legitimate dance show, why are they shooting it like a kpop performance? the camerawork for kpop serves a specific function: to add to the visual spectacle and to highlight the idols' faces. you don't need either of those things for shoot choreography, so why do we keep getting closeups of dancers' faces? not that these dance videos aren't spectacle-y or fun, because they very much are, but they really suck at their one primary function, which is displaying the choreo.
4. x class
this is definitely the one where the camera work is the closest to what it should be, but then they go and fuck it up by adding rain! just the groundwater would have been fine, but noooo they had to add the extra rain so there would be extra water drops on the lens!! this is my favourite choreo of all four of these, i think there's the most cohesion and (excluding the rain) it's got a good mix of spectacle with the water and the blacklight and the right camera angles to show the choreo mostly well. i still don't understand why they cut in those sections that don't fit with the rest of the flow though. why. you could have one-taked this and it would have looked dope as fuck. i agree that lip j stands out the most, obviously it's her choreo so it's the best suited to her character and abilities.
---
if it wasn't a random lottery draw they should at least have the courtesy of showing people why who picked who!! that's the most interesting part! and i'm not that surprised about wayb being eliminated, prowdmon really stomped them into the ground with that revenge energy. i'm interested in this larger scale performances concept, because i'm not really sure what that looks like in this particular context. if they do end up on youtube i will review them! and you're not oversharing at all, the context is fine! i don't mind reading it as information, i just don't like actually watching it with my own eyes. i can't watch that kind of thing in reality tv because it makes me want to sit everyone down like a kindergarden teacher and go "ok, now why are we all yelling?". too many years of tense rehearsal conflict negotiation and i just want to whack everyone upside the head. it's not very cathartic for me lmao. i have no doubt that everyone is friends because dance scenes are small and i'm sure they've all worked together lots, but even just the editing sets off my fight or fight reflexes.

Forging A Heart (Ivar the Boneless) 5- Replaceable
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairings: Ivar x Artemis (OFC)
Word Count: 2154
Warnings: Light dream violence?
4- Distaste
...
She could hear herself breathing, her heart rate accelerating at inhuman speed. Her eyes were closed. She was afraid to open them in fear of seeing the horrors of a living hell.
She felt a wetness about her bare feet that seeped between her toes, warm and sticky. The scent of iron was strong in the air. Glancing down she opened her eyes slowly, gagging at the sight of the pools of rich blood surrounding her, as well as the bodies of the holy men thrown about with arrows embedded into them. She stared wide eyed at the massacre, lifting up the hem of her white dress to see it covered in the red of the monks.
The pristine walls of the monestary were covered in the blood of its men that worshipped within its walls. The statues of the saints melt away into the bloody mess on the marble floors, and the gold she had welded with her own two hands were gone.
Artemis let's out a sob, willing the screams in the distance to stop, for the madness to stop...and then there was silence.
Somehow the silence was worse than the screams.
"It is beautiful, don't you agree?" She whipped around quickly, staring into eyes of endless blue oceans that would surely drown her.
Ivar stood tall, looming over her like a great oak tree, a long bow in his hands. Blood streamed down his face and into his eyes, but he didn't seem to care.
To see him at his full height and not crawling about on the ground set a fear in her heart. Before she could do anything, he stretches the bow string as far as he could with a wild grin, releasing the arrow with lightning speed, and then, she saw nothing.
...
"Wake up, you lazy cunt, you're dreaming again!" The hits of the wooden spoon were enough to jolt Artemis into conscienceness. Sweat rolled down her brow and her breathing was erratic. It was still dark out, not yet sunrise.
"There she is, now get up, the Prince's should be waking soon and the hall must be spotless. Wouldn't want Ivar to cut that pretty little face of yours, hmm?"
Artemis rubbed the sleep from her eyes, doing her best to ignore Edda, the head thrall of the household. She was a feisty older woman with an unpleasant tone who had worked under Queen Asluag in the days when the boys were young. She was round, with a build as large as her personality. They must have fed her well these past years. Edda was quite fond of her late Queen and had resented Lagertha, but those were the old days, and a new era was upon them. Perhaps the murder had affected her just as it did the sons.
The main hall had been empty that morning, except for the few slaves that lingered about. Edda, that old hag, had sent her to clean up mess after mess. Artemis supposed that was her main purpose there, besides tending to the crippled prince. Cleaning up messes was tedious, but at least she wasn't forced upon the fortifications of the wall. The monks of Crete served that purpose.
Artemis blinked tiredly, slowly dragging her feet to the hall. It was to her surprise that not much needed to be cleaned and tended to. The brothers had thrown a small feast among themselves, and the remainders of last night hung in the air and draped over Artemis' shoulders like a cloak. Articles of clothing were thrown about, and horns of ale sat untouched on the table. She collected the clothing and cups, passing them off to one of the kitchen maids and the laundress.
She sighs, tending to the hearth before going over to wipe spilled ale off the large table. On the center of the table was what looked like a lute. It was a beautifully crafted instrument, the wood carved to perfection. Patterns were etched on its front with the same strategic lines she had seen carved on the rocks and boulders around the village.
She tossed the cleaning rag to the side, momentarily forgetting her task and letting her fingers brush atop the smooth wooden surface. The wood was soomth to the touch upon her heated fingers, just as she expected. She then passed her fingers over the thin strings that were rough to the touch. She plucked one of them, and the resonating sound made her smile. The sound was a comfort to her, a nostalgic ringing in her ears that made her want to pluck another string just to bring the feeling back.
"Do you play?"
Artemis turned quickly, suppressing a shriek of surprise. Behind her stood one of the princes, Sigurd, who bore a tired smile. When she remained quiet, he stepped forward slowly, ignoring the look she gave him.
"Do you play?" He asked again, this time a bit slower, assuming she didn't understand. He points at the lute. He gave no air of a threat, but Artemis could not be too sure, so she didn't let her guard down. She didn't know this prince as well as the others. Ubbe was sensible and kind, Hvitserk was extremely playful, and Ivar crazy, so where did Sigurd fit into?
She realizes he was waiting for an answer, and she quickly cleared her throat before putting her hands behind her back and setting her gaze to the floor.
"I'm not very skilled, Prince," She spoke quietly but firmly, and almost jerked back when he gently grasped her chin, pushing her face up towards him. Her eyes bore into his odd blue ones and his smile could be described as blinding.
"Your eyes," He begins, "Has anyone ever told you that you have beautiful eyes?"
"No." She replies flatly, shaking herself from his grip.
Sigurd wasn't angry.
He stepped past her, grabbing the lute and plucking a few strings to create a tune. He smiled at her again before handing her the instrument.
"You try,"
She looks at him with uncertainty before grasping the lute, cradling it softly within her arms like a child. She plucked one string, then another, bringing back a tune from deep within her memory.
She remembered her mother was a skilled musician, trying her best to pass on the knowledge to her, but Artemis never really cared for it. She always gravitated towards the work of her father and brother. Her mother always joked that she bore two sons. The thought made Artemis smile as she continued to play, just as her mother had taught her, a lullaby played to her when she was a little girl. It had been so long since she'd heard it, yet somehow it remained fresh in her mind.
She stopped abruptly, fingers hooking over the strings as mixed emotions ran through her. She felt angry hot tears swell in her eyes, blurring her vision. She choked back a sob that threatened to spill from her lips. The memories of her old life resurfaced and hit her like a crashing wave. She fought so hard to keep them at bay.
Overwhelmed, Artemis placed the lute back on the table with shaking hands. She spared a glance at Sigurd, wet eyes revealing the resentment swimming within. It wasn't his fault she was there, but he was associated with the ones who did, and that was enough for her soul to be gripped with animosity.
"Why do you cry?" Sigurd seemed genuinely confused. The idiot. He steps closer, raising a hand in an attempt to dry her tears, but right before she made a move to shift away from his touch again, they were interrupted by a growl all too familiar.
It had grown silent, even the crackling embers of the building fire had grown silent as if fearful.
"Ivar," Sigurd says his name with an annoyed sigh, not bothering to turn around. He knew his youngest brother had the eyes of a vulture.
"What can I do for you, little brother?"
Ivar had the habit of appearing from the shadows unnoticed despite the scraping of the metal buckles round his legs, but he quite liked it that way. He crawls across the floors in an eerie manner as he slowly approached the pair with eyes that was nothing short of murder.
"I just wonder brother," He began softly, continuing to drag himself ever so slowly until he reached Sigurds boots, "I wonder who gave you the authority to touch my thrall, if it was not I who gave the order?" Ivar feigned confusion, lifting himself up to sit at the table. He watched Artemis intently, noticing how rigid her posture was, as if ready to pounce on the defense if need be. Sigurd held his ground as he always did.
"Must I ask permission to command a slave, Ivar?" Ivar hums in response, drumming his fingers harshly against the table that resonated throughout the hall. Sigurd was never a good liar, even now, Ivar could see how his brow twitched, a sign of Sigurd's obvious dishonesty. He had fooled Ivar as a child many times, but he wouldn't be misguided as easily as before.
"Command? This isnt an ordinary slave, dear Sigurd, this is my slave. Would you like it if someone else were trying to toy with your property, hmm?" His tone was condescending, a ploy to bring Sigurd to his boiling point. It had almost worked, and the youngest brother watched with glee as Sigurd moved to react, hands turning to fists, but it was Ivar's slave that reacted first.
"I was never a man's property, not in my homeland, and certainly not here," Artemis growled, hands bawling into fists at her sides. Whatever ounce of fear she had of Ivar had disappeared, as rage clouded her vision. All thoughts of potential punishment had ceased from her mind, nose flaring and eyebrows arched.
She faces Ivar with a hardness in her eyes, shining like pearls ready to be plucked from the sea. Perhaps it was her nightmare that ignited the fire, the image of Ivar ready to kill her was implanted in her mind. Ivar grinned madly, a reaction he was not expecting from her, but a reaction he enjoyed nonetheless.
Sigurd watches on with wide eyes, speechless at her outburst. It was only moments ago in which she almost appeared as a mute. Leave it to Ivar to make even the most silent of persons angry.
"My, how your vocabulary has expanded!" Ivar taunts, "I'm impressed, really," He slams his hand against the table with a loud smack, and the force of the hit sent the lute crashing to the ground, forgotten in the tense silence of the hall. Then he gets deadly serious.
"The fact of the matter is that you are now a slave! To hel with your past life, it does not matter anymore. Here you are nothing but a slave under my command. Relinquish your thoughts of your homeland, you have no use for it here,"
"You are much too cruel, brother." Sigurd sighs, glancing at Artemis before taking a seat across from Ivar. He was in no mood to argue.
"The truth can be quite cruel," Ivar says, glaring at his brother before turning his gaze to Artemis. He brings a dagger between his fingers, the same one he put to her throat only days ago. It seemed to glitter in the light of the fire, as if mocking her mortality.
"Well? Will you not fetch us food? It is nearly time for breakfast," Ivar smiled, quickly driving the dagger into the wood of the table with a hard stab. Artemis, fuming with anger, remains silent. Her hands shook and she felt the heat rising to her cheeks. Sigurd sent her a sorrowful look, but she ignored it, snatching the rag in a tight grip and turning on her heel to exit the hall. How infuriating Ivar was, to constantly express his superiority. He compensates weak legs with extreme pride, and uses fear as a way to control.
Hvitserk and Ubbe walked past to meet their youngest with Margarthe in tow. Hvitserk winks at her as he usually did at but Ubbe's eyes were hard. He grabbed her forearm tightly, succeeding in emiting a squeal from her.
"Obey him, Artemis," She blinked. It was the first time he'd given her some form of scolding, "You may have never been a slave before, but that is what you are now, and that is the path the gods have chosen for you. If you value your life, obey him. You are replaceable."
With that, Ubbe leaves as if no words have been exchanged at all. Margarthe sends her a look as if warning her, but disappeared with her husband and lover into the hall.
Angry tears escape her eyes and she wipes them away furiously. Tears wouldn't help her.

need to rant for a sec. I believe dream 100% cheated. his vid was really suspicious (not mentioning who this astrophysicist he hired was, his explanations being really long and complicated to confuse us, a popular technique amongst lawyers to confuse the clients into believing whatever, etc.) even if you take the vid at face value, the odds still would've been 1 in 10 million. those are astronomical odds that I think a lot of people are ignoring.
now I really don't care about this whole thing, but dream has consistently displayed childish and toxic behavior (his reply to jawsh, for example). I still like the guy, but he's got a lot of flaws that people are ignoring. he's still an incredible player and overall good person (literally one of the most generous people I've ever seen), but he's not perfect.
You don't have to post this, and I'm not meaning this to target you or invalidate your feelings (if you believe dream that's great! I'm just a cynical asshole), I just needed to rant because I'm a hot mess. Love you and your writing!
Hi!! I actually really appreciate you being willing to share your thoughts on it. Also I’m glad you like my writing!! Lol
While I don’t necessarily agree with you on everything, it’s true that Dream isn’t a perfect person and putting him on a pedestal shouldnt be a thing that happens. In that regard, I also think that he’s very aware of the influence he has, hence why he’s since apologized on multiple fronts for things that he’s said that came off as ill-willed (including his first speedrunning responses and off-handed behavior). He’s a person after all, and some of the things he experiences with such a large platform is really different to what you or I see, and so lots of things he says and does out of pure reaction are more emphasized than when we ourselves make mistakes. He expressed similar feelings about watching what he says on a jackbox stream with Quakity.
Personally the astrophysicist wanting to remain anonymous isn’t that big of a red flag for me, as even people who wanted to neutrally make points in Dream’s favor have been sent death threats by antis in the past. The confirmation of some of Dream’s acquaintances is another reassuring thing, along with a very professional report formatting and utilization of terminology, but again, you can take it however you’d like!
And I’m actually very interested in law and have communicated/worked a bit with some very significant attorneys, judges, and firm workers during my times in that arena. To your point on the whole confusingly long arguments thing, I think that it’s more a matter of being familiar with the material before going into a debate over something, but I see what you’re saying. Minecraft statistics and mechanics are pretty interesting (but also confusing!) when first getting into it, and I don’t know how extensively you know about the game, but that might have also contributed to the video arguments being a bit more jumbled. There were some pretty insightful comments that helped explain it, along with the scientific report itself, which all contributed to a better understanding on my end.
Jawsh is kinda...a different situation. Should Dream have responded in the manner he did initially on twitter? Probably not. But he’s known for protecting his more major fans from antagonizing criticisms, and Jawsh referencing Dream’s own fan base in the midst of calling all stans “authoritarian” and “mentally unwell” was probably not a calming factor for him to read on his timeline. He also wasn’t the only one to respond in that way, and later on he even made a video describing his views in depth. I think if Jawsh were to have phrased his points in a more mature and respectful manner, it would have been a much more different response. But again, I do see what you’re saying and understand your grievances.
I agree that he is absolutely not perfect, but he strives to make up for his mistakes all the time and - like you said - is one of the most generous people in the community. Which is why I trust him on the speedrunning situation as well, along with the fact that I had similar speculations about geosquare’s initial video that were brought up in the rebuttal.
Thank you for being really respectful about it and for sharing your perspective! It’s really informative and I appreciate it :))

Routine checkup
I was in for a routine checkup at school, waiting patiently in line until it was finally my turn. I am welcomed by this beautiful nurse, long, dark hair, really short and she's wearing glasses. As she's preparing the room, I can't help but stare at her cute, peach-shaped little ass and her breasts, left in a slightly too revealing cleavage.
I had to remove my shirt and pants, after which she stood really close to me, leaving her chest right in sight, as she kept on doing her tests and I had to hold back my boner. I got so horny, thinking about what I could do to those beautiful tits.
"Could you remove your underwear?" she asked, suddenly. I panicked, realizing my dick was close to getting erect any moment.
A good patient has to obey though, so I reluctantly pulled them down. She held her head close to my crotch, inspecting carefully.
"Could you hold your penis to the side?" Before I could really react, she grabbed my testicles and started to rub them between her fingers. I could feel my dick starting to grow, but I still barely managed to hold my boner back.
"Cough." She kept rubbing them as I did, getting harder and harder to, well, not get hard.
"Can I hold it for a bit?" She asked and confused I nod. As she grabs it, she started rubbing my foreskin back and forth, looking at it retract. I could no longer hold back, and it grew in her hand with each rubbing of my foreskin she made.
I saw something in her eyes, something I could only describe as lust, as it grew to full size as she stroked it slowly.
"It retracts nicely." She said as she pulled the foreskin over the tip. "You're getting a little bit excited there, aren't you?"
"Sorry..." I blushed, as I answered.
"No, no, don't worry. It's a normal reaction." She held it firmly in her hand. "And don't worry, you have NOTHING to be ashamed of." she said, suggestively. "We're done now."
Letting go of my dick, she started taking notes in her papers. I realized just then I'd have to leave the room with this massive boner and looked to the door. She looked at me, clearly seeing my distress.
"Do you want to make it soft again?" She asked, shyly. "In case you were worried about leaving like that."
"Can I?"
"I can help out, if you promise you won't tell anyone." Not really knowing what to say, I nodded in reply.
Taking some of the lotion on her desk she started rubbing her hands before she took hold of my dick and started jerking me off. With slow and steady moves, she pulled my foreskin back and forth, increasing the tempo as she went on.
She realized I was close to cumming already, I guess from my heavy breathing, and quickly grabbed a small cup and held it before my tip. As her hands moved back and forth a stream of cum poured out into it. When it stopped, she took some rubbing alcohol, cleaned her hands and then made sure to thoroughly clean my cock, making sure to squeeze out every last drop into the cup.
Our eyes met, and I saw a guilty smile looking at me.
"Thank you. We're done now."
I got dressed and started to leave the room. As I closed in on the door, I spotted in the corner of my eyes in the reflection of a painting how she held the cup up to her face. At first, tasting my cum with a quick lick, but then quickly swallowing it all in a single gulp.
The next guy waiting on the other side of the door went in and the door closed right behind me.

Across the Road, At the Brothel
Chapter Six
Summary: Jaskier fell in love any day that the sun rose in the East. It was a trifling, pleasurable experience for him. Even when he was jumping out a window to avoid cuckolded husbands. So what happens when his trifles start to become more significant? Jaskier/OC. Some Yennefer/Geralt
A/N: Jaskier is just too adorable not to write about. This is a relationship development story with an OC. There will be smut in later chapters and plenty of angst.
Warning: Past Mentions of Rape
Rating: Mature

Questions of Comfort
The ice was back.
Lyrra shivered and felt tears begin to burn at her eyes.
She didn't want to be in this place.
"Shhh, Princess." A voice of smooth whiskey soothed as she felt a hand brush over her shoulders.
She hated that voice and his touch, but she knew any disobedience would make this worse. She closed her eyes to try and hide her fear.
"You're trembling like a leaf, little one." His breath was hot and moist against her cheek.
She choked on a quiet sob, still refusing to open her eyes.
Papa, help... Please come save me.
"Drink your drought, now."
No.
She didn't want it.
"It'll make you relax."
The glass chalice was pressed to her lips.
No.
She clenched her teeth together.
A chilled hand clutched painfully at her jaw. Forcing her mouth open and the liquid spilled down her gullet.
She was so cold.
"Lyrra."
What?
Confusion tore through her, he never called her that.
"Lyrrana."
Her eyes slid open almost unwillingly and she stared into his cold dark sea eyes, "Lyrra..."
That wasn't his voice.
Lyrra tilted her head as something gripped her and began to pull her away from her monster with the dark eyes. The world faded around the edges and turned black
"Lyrra."
A heat smoothed over her cheek and she felt her eyes flutter open again – when had she closed them?
Jaskier hovered over her anxiously. His eyes were blue too, she noted distantly. Not like the sea, but like the sky on an early spring morning, "Jaskier?"
He quirked a relieved grin at her and answered her unspoken question, "You were having a nightmare."
Lyrra blinked, cobwebs of sleep still clung to her mind. She was in his room. A vague memory of disrobing to her chemise and climbing into bed – no, she had nestled into Jaskier's arms as willing as a foundling. She nearly sighed before his words penetrated. Nightmare? She shivered and suddenly the cold place loomed up from the shadows of her mind. It wasn't a nightmare, it was life. Her life. Her fingers twitched with the need to move.
Warmth, she wanted warmth.
A soft brush against her face drew her back to the present and she realized that Jaskier was cupping her cheek. His thumb swept soft circles over her skin, leaving a pleasant tingle in its wake. She was surprised to find she didn't mind his touch at that moment. He was watching her, waiting for something. A reaction, a response? She wasn't sure, but she knew he was warm.
Not ice.
Not cold.
She wanted warmth.
Unthinkingly, she leaned up and brushed her lips against his. He stilled before pulling back slightly. His gaze searched hers curiously and she was glad for it. Glad that he hadn't surged forward and pressed for more – even though she wanted more. Lyrra smiled almost shyly at him as she wondered if this was just another dream. A good one. He was gentle and warm...good. This time she didn't just lean up. Her hand came to brush across the back of his neck, the short hairs at the base of his scalp tickled her palm before her mouth crashed to his again.
He kissed back.
Slowly, tentatively as if he were working out a puzzle. This kiss like the first one was chaste, but then there was another. Just as slow. Curious, even. Lyrra didn't mind. His hands left trails of fire across her skin as they came to settle at her waist. He was taking the cold away. She nipped gently at his lip and she felt more than heard the moan that rumbled through his chest. Her other hand trailed a path from his jaw down his neck to the opening of his shirt where her fingers brushed against the coarse hair that peaked out. It dawned on her that he felt solid – real beneath her hand, but the realization wasn't enough to make her stop.
Lyrra tugged insistently at his shirt and he sat back long enough to let her pull it over his head and drop it to the floor. Their breathing was audible now as he reclaimed her mouth and her fingers began to explore the new territory that had been exposed to her. She discovered hard, lean muscle as she traced the sinews of his abdomen, the small hairs dipping below his trousers tickling her skin as she plotted her path. He was soft skin and hard lines, smooth muscle and rough hair, and she needed more. An ache to be touched, to be filled began to echo in her. She pushed against him wantonly, searchingly as she broke their kiss and trailed biting kisses down his stubbled jaw.
Jaskier breathed a faint moan at her attentions, his fingers twisting in her thick mane as he pulled her head back to taste her again and he flipped their positions. Instinctively, her legs widened to straddle his waist, her chemise rose up her thighs as she did so but he didn't move to recline back and her hips fell to meet his. She gasped as his hardness pressed against her center and she ground down.
He visibly shuddered at the contact as he drew away from their kiss rather reluctantly and leant his head against hers. His voice was a strained whisper as he uttered, "I'm very much going to regret saying this, but Lyrra, we need to stop."
Bemusement was the only emotion she was capable of conveying in that moment, "Something wrong?"
"No...and yes." He murmured almost piteously with a dour cringe.
Lyrra pulled away slightly, feeling suddenly uncertain and a little embarrassed, "Wha...?"
Jaskier sighed, his hands reflexively finding a place at her hips, "Have no doubt that I very, very much want to plunder your depths right now."
"Good, I want that too." She didn't doubt him, she could feel his want quite clearly. She brushed her lips against his and had to bite back a smile when his fingers curled into the folds of her gown.
"You are not making this easy." Jaskier mumbled as he pulled back again, "Lyrra..."
She nearly scowled in frustration as she frowned at him, "Jaskier."
He frowned back and released his grip on her to frame her face with his hands, "Lyrra, I'm not bedding you tonight. Not tonight."
She stared at him silently stunned. It took a minute for the implications of his words to find meaning. Not tonight? Did he think her so fragile? A thin strand of indignant anger slithered through her blood, but she pushed it away as she studied the firm set of his mouth and the almost sullen glint in his azure eyes. Behind that, she could see a quiet plea, "Is tonight really so different from any other night?"
"Yes." He said quietly.
Lyrra hesitantly reached up and placed a hand over one of his, "Jaskier, are you... are you trying to protect me?"
He smiled dully, "Is that really so strange?"
She caught a fleck of hurt in his gaze – she had wounded him. She hadn't meant to. Her fingers tightened over his as she pulled his hand from her cheek to place a lingering kiss on his bandaged wrapped palm, "I'm afraid it's a service with which I am unfamiliar. You are not what I expected, Jaskier."
"Is that a bad thing or a good thing?" He asked gently.
She flashed him a faint smirk, "Right now, it's just plain annoying. You don't need to protect me, you know?"
"Maybe not, but surprisingly, I do have a few scruples." Jaskier replied pointedly, "We've both had a rather dramatic day. Between finding out you're my betrothed, you being accosted, me actually punching someone, and..." He broke off and shook his head in almost disbelief, before leveling her with an intent stare, "Our first time together won't be out of a need for comfort and distraction."
She opened her mouth to protest, but he cut her off.
"You're not the only one who needs comfort and distraction."
Lyrra sighed quietly as they stared at each other. She didn't know what to do, mostly because he wasn't wrong. For whatever reason, the cold and lingering shadows seemed to dissipate when he was near her. His mere presence brought her comfort... it was odd, but she was loathed to let that small peace go. In a parrot of his earlier actions, she brushed her hand gently across his cheek. She ignored the faint flush she could feel rising up her neck as she haltingly asked, "Then. Then can you just kiss me?"
Jaskier smiled with a look that could only be described as affectionate as he murmured, "Gladly."
She smiled back as his arm wrapped around her and she fell into his attentions.
»»————- ————-««
Jaskier grimaced slightly as he washed his hands in the cold water of the stream near Lyrra's cottage. His knuckles stung from the sudden contact, but luckily the skin didn't break open. The sun had barely begun to crest the horizon when he had left Lyrra's side to come check on Geralt. A feat that had been much more difficult and also more of a relief than he had anticipated. The image of her half-hooded grey eyes watching him drowsily as he pulled on his boots made him smile. A lingering goodbye kiss nearly had him crawling back into bed with her.Instead, he had taken matters quite literally in hand once he had left the inn – something he hadn't had to do since his days at Oxenfurt. Wasn't that just...something.
He rubbed tiredly at his face, not sure what to make of everything. Well, if he was going, to be honest, what to make of Lyrrana. By the Gods, how she had bewitched him. He had run the gamut of the emotional scale in the past twenty-four hours and he placed the blame of that solely at the former princess's feet. Never before had he felt the need to protect someone as he had her, never had he been so scared for another being either. He didn't care for it.
Then there were the more intimate events of the night as well. Not just their amorous explorations of each other, either. Lyrra hadn't cried, but she had been vulnerable in front of him, had let him hold her, and care for her in his own way. He didn't regret any of that in the least, but the lines were beyond blurred between them at this point. They weren't exactly friends. Despite what he had told her, Lyrra had been right, friends don't kiss each other the way they do. They hadn't crossed into lovers, yet. Nor were they exactly courting. There was no doubt he cared for her, but what exactly did that mean?
With heavy steps, he turned from the stream's banks and sauntered slowly through the fields to the path that would lead him to the cottage. He arrived at the ramshackle little building sooner than he had intended and with none of his thoughts any clearer. The moment he crossed the threshold he knew Geralt had been up again. He rolled his eyes – stubborn to a bloody fault. The pot that had held the burnt stew was now clean and back in its proper place. The table cleared of its food remnants. Well, no one could say that the witcher made a poor guest.
"You know..." Jaskier called as he moved for the bedroom, "Housework doesn't typically fall under the category of resting."
Geralt didn't look up from his place on the edge of the bed as he did up his arm braces. He looked better than he had in ages, but he still looked like shit, "I've rested enough."
The bard quirked a brow as he leaned into the doorway, "Yeah? There's an angry-looking gash in your shoulder that says different."
"I'll live." Geralt grunted as he finally looked up. His golden eyes narrowed as he caught sight of Jaskier's swollen hand, "What happened?"
The bard followed his gaze and flexed his fingers experimentally as he recalled the rage he had gone into as he had slammed his hand repeatedly into the foul creature that had attacked Lyrra. He hadn't been able to stop until the Rose's barkeep had hauled him off the man, "Lyrra was attacked outside the tavern last night."
Geralt seemed to sit up even straighter at his words and Jaskier offered a semblance of a reassuring smile, "She's okay."
It was Geralt's turn to raise a brow, "And you came to her rescue?"
A thrill of indignant hurt welled in Jaskier at the question. Why did everyone seem to think him heartless enough to leave another in trouble? Granted, he tended to avoid conflict as much as possible, but really. He sent the witcher a baleful look as he crossed his arms, hiding his hand from sight, "There were three men, according to Lyrra. She killed one and incapacitated the other. The third got ahold of her and that was about the time I showed up. His face was harder than I expected. I think I'll leave the hitting of things to you from now on."
Geralt rolled his eyes and grabbed his cloak, "And she thanked you by taking you to bed."
Jaskier's eyes widened and he bit back the sour retort he had on his tongue, "Believe it or not, no. At least not in the way you're thinking. She was a bit upset and I'm not in the habit of bedding traumatized women."
That made Geralt pause in disbelief as he pointedly stated, "You smell of her... and other things."
"Gross." Jaskier pulled a face of disgust. Sometimes, he didn't envy the abilities that the witcher was embued with, "Not that it's any of your business, but the reason I smell of Lyrra is because I slept next to her last night. I wasn't all that comfortable leaving her alone after everything that happened. And as for the other stuff... Well, you try waking up next to a beautiful woman and not physically react."
While it wasn't the whole story of what happened in either instance, Jaskier wasn't about to expound on the precious hour he had spent tasting Lyrra's lips. Geralt seemed to know he wasn't speaking of everything as an amused glint entered his eyes, "Explains your surly mood then. A hand's a poor substitute."
The bard scowled, "Gets the job done."
Geralt snorted and passed him into the main area. Jaskier turned as he watched the older man deftly find his swords and few select accruements. He must have been watching with some intensity as Geralt sent him a curious look, "What?"
Jaskier shrugged as he continued to mull over the events of the past day, "Just thinking."
The witcher shook his head, "Don't hurt yourself."
"Haha." Jaskier retorted with a sigh as he began to gather his things, as well. He got halfway through packing his bag when a dandelion stem fell to his lap. He smirked as he picked up the sad little plant, echoes of Lyrra's laughter wafted through the air. Well... shit, "One of the men got away."
Geralt stilled, his jaw tensing as he turned to stare at the bard. Jaskier knew that Geralt didn't go after humans, not unless provoked, but that wasn't what he was silently telling his friend, "I don't want to leave Lyrra alone... Maybe we should stay here for a few more days?"
"Hmm." Geralt grunted as he tilted his head at Jaskier and waited.
"It's just a few days. I mean -" Jaskier rushed on as he snapped his bag closed and leant it against the wall, "She did kill this man's friend. What if he's still hanging around?... Waiting for that perfect moment to strike again. Besides, you kind of owe her. She didn't have to take you in or care for you..."
Geralt blinked slowly, "Jaskier."
"Yeah?" The bard replied hopefully.
"Shut up."
Jaskier deflated, "Really!? That's it! We can't just leave her."
"We're not." Geralt said as he left the main room for the bedroom again. Jaskier stood there confused until the witcher returned carrying Lyrra's sword. He slid it in the sheathe holding his own weapons, "We'll stay here. Lyrra will at least get her room back."
Jaskier grinned as the older man turned back to him, "Geralt, are you being gallant?"
Geralt leveled him with an unimpressed look as he replied deadpan, "Tell me, Bard, if all you did was sleep next to her last night, where did the love bite on your neck come from?"
Unthinkingly, Jaskier slapped a hand against his throat as if he could feel the hickey as he stared with wide eyes at his friend. Geralt scoffed under his breath and exited the cottage. The duo made quick work of getting back to the town and the bard was pleased to see more of a bustling street than he had the previous few days and his fingers itched for a quill or a piece of charcoal. He hadn't had time to grill Geralt on his fleder feat and he was due a new song.
As they neared the Rose and Pine, a cart wheeled out from the side alley. Atop it lay a body shrouded in a grey blanket and Jaskier knew without a doubt who resided underneath. His lip curled slightly at the sight and felt his hand twist into a fist.
Geralt watched him from the corner of his eye before noticing the chain that led off the carts back. There stood a second man clapped in irons. One eye peered darkly at the bard, the other too swollen to even open. His whole face was a dark smattering of purple and blue. The witcher wasn't sure he could readily identify the man once the swelling disappeared. He raised a surprised brow in Jaskier's direction, "Are you sure your hand's not broken?"
"No." Jaskier murmured lowly as he continued to glare ahead.
"They'll be takin' to Toussaint's Alderman fer judgment."
A brash voice said behind the two. Jaskier barely looked back to acknowledge the barkeep, "Should just string him up here."
"Aye, but then we'd 'ave to deal wit 'heir stench." Hillard muttered dryly as he nodded hesitantly at the witcher before turning his attention to the bard, "See if ye can git the lass to go 'ome for a bit, would ya?"
Jaskier looked at the man perplexed before glancing toward the inn. Lyrra should still be there resting. She had promised him, but even as he was thinking it his eyes landed on a familiar form. She stood on the other side of the cart. Her arms crossed as she watched the proceedings of carting off the dead and guilty. He began to scowl as the cart was finally taken down the road and he had a clear path to her.
"Lyrra?" She glanced toward him in surprise and Jaskier nearly rolled his eyes, "What are you doing out here? You said you'd stay inside and rest."
Lyrra offered him a faint smile as he loomed over her, "I'm rested. I wanted to see if there was any more news."
Jaskier frowned at her, "You should have stayed inside."
Exasperation coated her stare, but she said nothing before she caught sight of Geralt and raised a disapproving brow, "Speaking of staying inside. You shouldn't be about yet."
"I'm fine." Geralt muttered lowly as he gave her a critical once over as if she was the one horribly wounded, "You can have your bed back."
Lyrra frowned at his words as if she were given a puzzle, "Why do I feel like there's a caveat to that statement?"
"There is." Geralt replied bluntly, "We're staying with you for a few more days. At least until your missing attacker is less of a concern."
Lyrra stared at both of them before turning a baleful look on Jaskier, "Really?"
Jaskier smiled sweetly at her as Geralt grunted and headed into the tavern. The couple barely noticed as they held their staring contest. Lyrra was the first to break as she huffed, "I don't recall asking for protection, Jaskier."
"I don't know why you're so surprised by this." The bard replied with a shrug and leant down to place a chaste kiss on her forehead, "Humor me, please."
She sighed wearily but refrained from further comment as she slipped past him to follow Geralt. The bard trailed after more sedately as he wondered how he had become acquainted with two such stubborn people.
