DPXDC Prompt #94
Danny falls through a portal to the DC world from a natural portal that opened up while he was in mid fight with Skulker a fight that began at Vlads where the creep put a collar on Danny that kept him in ghost form, Vlad thought he’d force Danny to reveal his secret to his parents by taking away his human form. Looking around he’s in a dark city with dark smog colored skies. Unfortunately he’s stuck here as the portal closed leaving him trapped. He tried to find help but no one can see him in his ghost form. He starts tailing the vigilantes of this world and eventually follows one onto this space station through this tube (possessing inanimate objects sure comes in handy). He wasn’t expecting for the random British guy in a trench coat to see him.

the actual empirical reason why "ofc" means "of course" and always has is because you could use it on neopets when the term "lmao" was banned circa 2006 to 2009ish. anyone who decided it means 'of fucking course' did so within the last decade and is using revisionist linguistics. Know Your Internet History. Do Not Cite The Deep Magic To Me Etc
but it's also because fucking nobody uses "oc" to mean "of course" so if someone types "ofc" that's..... because it means "of course." because if you want to abbreviate of course, you don't use oc. because oc is not an understood linguistic abbreviation.
and if you mean "of fucking course" then that's fine. however if you insist that the acronym always means that and always has, then my question is: what abbreviation do you use to mean 'of course,' HMM. oh, it's NOT oc?? but i thought the f in ofc was for the Fuck word?? so surely we should be writing 'of course' as oc if we want to abbreviate it???? CURIOUS 🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐

I gave myself a writing challenge and I am fascinated by it
So basically I put the robins in a randomizer to give them a new order/role (because I just...kinda wanted to see what would happen + I like role-reversal AUs) and got results that are giving me a fucking brain blast.
Stephanie, the first sidekick who defines the role
Tim, the sidekick who dies and comes back wrong
Dick, the sidekick who saves Batman from himself
Damian, the sidekick who was never supposed to be a sidekick but would go on to prove everyone wrong
Jason, the youngest sidekick who is still the Kid Wonder
...So this is fucking wild. I've got some ideas and several of these fit perfectly (Dick's role is pretty similar to his one in canon), but some of these are fucking INCREDIBLE to explore (Steph being the first Robin is something I never even considered but tbh I kinda love it).
I probably won't write a fic or anything because tbh I don't like publishing my writing that much, but I might expand this into a full AU and post about it. I might randomize other stuff too (ie, stuff that I cannot change vs stuff that I cannot keep the same) but this fucking rules as a starting point.
#uhhh what am I calling this??#randomizedrobinsau#stephanie brown#oh my god I am so excited to figure out how tf to write this.#because she's my favorite of these characters and having HER be the first sidekick + the one who has a mentor/older sister relationship#with the others?? kickass. though I'll probably keep her and Tim's relationship as 'dating-then-exes' because I think it's funny#and then SHE can be the Robin who Tim got fixated on + figured out her identity?? holy fuck and then the angst of Tim later dying#Tim Drake#tbh I kinda wish he'd gotten a different position because 'sidekick who dies' Tim has kinda been done a lot with the standard#reverse robin aus. But it'll still be fun to write. Definitely going the Joker Junior route with this because Batman Beyond kicks ass#Dick Grayson#He'll honestly probably be the easiest. Like...his role has not changed much outside of being younger/not the one who defines this#But I still think it'll be good to see how well I know Dick beyond his eldest brother thing (which is my best way of relating to him)#Damian al ghul#damian wayne#oh this is gonna kick ass#Bruce does not want his son to be a sidekick but Damian just kinda forces his way into that role#and everybody doubts him because of his history with the league but he later proves himself more than capable#to the point that he can set out mostly on his own and still thrive#Jason Todd#Jason being the baby of the family is also something I have never thought about but holy shit it could kick ass#I really hope that I don't roll 'Jason must die' or 'Robin 5 must die' on the randomizer. I just kinda want Jason to live this time#But unfortunately I double-screwed him because he's on the 'must happen' wheel twice now. I did not think these prompts through#TBH I am so happy that none of them rolled their OG roles. because that would have been so fucking boring

Thinking and headcannoning the shit out of angry Stampede! Vash and how Wolfwood deals with that first thing in the morning because i think him getting angry about something and letting down some of his mask in those genuine moments of anger is super awesome
Before we continue I have not read the manga yet so if you read something incredibly obvious or redundant to your experience, well, haha or something OQNENW
This is a VERY LONG Vashwood ramble I have to put SOMEWHERE or I will explode, so feel free to join if you want.
Vash is an overall very expressive person right? very emotional too generally, but the thing is I like drawing people getting angry so that’s what you are getting from me.
And I also often think about the fact that it’s Wolfwood and Knives the ones that have seen him be like that (most often than not towards them).
Wolfwood specifically, I think that he WOULD get scared because when Vash is angry angry, he just seethes and looks like he is three seconds away from being love and peace to hate and war. These are probably the moments in where he carries the most resemblance to Knives, and to anybody that has experienced the man firsthand they know how scary that is because everyone and their moms knows that he does not hesitate to resort to murder if he is upset about something or if it’s inconvenient to him, so it is rightfully terrifying to even think of him getting mad.
Now take the same idea and apply it to Vash, he is so friendly and playful all the time and he gets kicked around all the time too, that it would be almost impossible to imagine him getting angry in a genuine way. That is UNTIL his ideals and morals are being countered or challenged by someone and THAT’S when people are gently reminded that oh yeah he can get mad too, and really fucking mad at that.
The peak of his anger doesn’t last for too long because he tries to level himself quickly, he is aware of how he can look when he gets like that, and it would be showing a little too much about how he is not very human in nature for what he is comfortable with. I think that when he gets mad his expression turns into something very vulnerably honest, to the point in where he unconsciously looks imposing and demanding, paired with his uncanny vibes it really is a treat and anyone at the other end of it would be other than also upset, quite scared. Like Wolfwood.
There is something very obviously other about Vash and he has the privilege of knowing just exactly why that is, and considering that his brother has a record for being a certain way when angry, knowing what he is does not soothe him at all. Then again, Wolfwood cares for him still and he is a stubborn guy himself, so even when most likely scared shitless, he would not move his ground, and the only thing that reassures him that things will be fine, is Vash’s pacific nature and also knowing that he cares deeply for him too, but that is a thing he would not think too much about other than the flash of thought that it is in the moment.
Vash is petty as hell too, he remains silent and gives the cold shoulder to the other person that was involved in the argument, and it is usually, once again, Wolfwood at the end of that stick. Wolfwood is a “mind your business and I mind mine” kind of guy considering he never asks things, but traveling with that idiot and having to be with him 24/7 and being given the silent treatment has to be uncomfortable at best incredibly annoying at worst. So even though he won’t change his opinion most of the times, he still insists on talking to him idly sometimes after they argue, something he would usually not do.
All Vash ever responds with are the necessary answers, at first shrugs or nods, then very short and to the point sentences, he eventually warms up to him again and they talk the way they usually do; and just like that things seems to be at bay for the time being until the next unavoidable argument comes by.
No matter how many times they argue, when things escalate and Vash begins to show his very honest anger, Wolfwood’s instincts would be screaming at him to stop it and to get away, because whatever Vash is feeling is reeking of a danger that no matter how enhanced he might be, he is NOT gonna make it through whatever will happen to him worse comes to worst. But when has he ever actually heard his instincts when it comes to dealing with Vash. So he always replies and stays.
He is somehow one of the very few (almost non existent) people who can deal with Vash when he is like that, one thing is getting mad at Vash and the other is him getting mad at you, and he has bite alright, he will say things that can come across as hurtful and very venomous when he starts to get more visceral, and yeah the whole predator kind of vibe he can give off is there too.
Maybe Wolfwood also knows how hurt Vash would feel if he retreats because of how scared he feels and that’s why he doesn’t back away. It would be reasonable if he did, hell he doesn’t owe him shit for all he knows and he would be in his whole right to run away scared if he wanted, but for one it would be too cowardly, and two Vash would be once again pushed away for being something not human, and that would be a scar he would carry for his whole life and Wolfwood does not want to be a part of that. So that’s another reason to the ever growing list of “why don’t I just let this be”.
There is an odd sense of comfort in seeing Vash get mad, knowing that the man knows his ground, that even he has lines he won’t allow anyone to cross, that he can allow himself to feel something genuine for once and not the fake little things he is always doing. It is the positive side Wolfwood tries to see in those situations and what he has to remind himself over and over again so he doesn’t flinch away. Good thing he has some practice in arguments thanks to his little siblings back at the orphanage, practice he refuses to let go and holds on to dear life because he needs any crumb of reason at those moments.
At some point when hands are involved, when a clench to the shirt and a push to the shoulder escalates to shoving the other to the ground and a punch to the gut, Wolfwood goes full survival mode because no one told him that Vash was THAT strong and THAT heavy and THAT intimidating. He could have guessed after having watched the man fight. He is capable and strong, he usually moves with a certain preciseness and care under the goofy display, he may twirl around and stumble when dodging, but he is dodging and also landing hits.
He knows that Vash is strong and that he is also incredibly careful. But that’s when he is in all his senses with a mostly cool head, so having him hovering over Wolfwood pressing him down rendering him to the ground while very obviously mad and trying to prove his point, he freezes before he can react and fight back.
Those are the times where Vash feels the most guilty after the fight from what Wolfwood can gather and wildly assume. If him not eating (again) for days or even refusing to acknowledge Wolfwood unless necessary is any sign. That behavior can last over a week which is a little too long for Wolfwood’s peace of mind. So he starts poking again because apparently arguing again is the only way to make the bastard answer more. And it usually works, some nudging here and there and putting lemon with salt to the wound seems to do the trick.
It entails more shouting and screaming at each others faces their flaws that they already know like a script, until things start to calm down when Wolfwood reassures him that he is tougher than he looks, and that no matter what he won’t just leave Vash in a ditch, and if they were going to travel together for the future to come they would have to learn how to sort things out. Something he knows neither of them will probably never learn, but it is what it is and that’s what he can resort to at the moment, and it does seem to satisfy Vash a little. So once they are done, and they go their separate ways, never too far from each other, Vash starts to nibble at his food and says or asks little things to Wolfwood, and just like that they are good to go again.
They are both aware that addressing out loud how fucking scary Vash can be at those raw moments of anger, would be like painting a line of ‘I am this and you are that so we shouldn’t be doing this’ that neither of them would actually want to have. So even when yeah it can be horribly scary and surprisingly intimidating to deal with Vash when he is angry, Wolfwood is willing to stay and fight with him if that’s what he wants, if that’s what he needs. Even if it’s starting to take a toll on him. He is getting used to it though so it will be fine.
Probably.
#MY BRAIN IS ALWAYS ROTATING THEM LIKE A CHICKEN IN MY HEAD#The bickering and the fights and the conflicts they have are an important piece of them methinks#so it is impossible for me to not think of them like that all the time. I just think that their whole power dynamic is very interesting#because realistically Vash is very much capable of doing a lot of things to prove his point but he never does thanks to his philosophy#something that has saved WW from being absolutely obliterated into little pieces I believe#I bet Vash’s intrusive thoughts must be WILD because ain’t no way that man holds back from so much violence without it marinating inside#of his mind okay just saying#fellas is it gay to be kind of into your bro pinning you to the ground when he is in emotional distress and you are scared as fuck?#trigun#vash the stampede#nicholas d wolfwood#trigun stampede#vash#wolfwood#nicholas trigun#vashwood#lenssi rambles#lenssi writes#because that’s too fucking long.#I just thought of this but I think that Vash starts to let himself express more of his anger with each argument they have#like at first he is more wary. still upset but careful bc as I mentioned at the beginning he knows what he looks like when he is that upset#but after seeing that WW doesn’t really make a big reaction other than ofc arguing back he sort of starts to just#let himself go a little more. it’s not exactly the preferable outcome. but for once Vash is able to get mad and shout and express himself#almost fully with someone. and a part of him knows that WW can handle it. that he is capable of going through it#it’s a part of Vash that he doesn’t like when he’s in such a volatile state of being. but there is comfort in knowing that WW can take it#and that WW will answer back too. with just as much bite as he does#oooh I’m so normal about them oooh I lie a lot also

ALSO mac knew about the DENNIS system (even before dennis told the rest of the gang about it in S5) but only learned the SINNED system in s16. so every time he might have tried to seduce dennis, he would have used the DENNIS system, not knowing that the SINNED system is what would work on dennis.
I mean, look at dennis' reaction when mac doesn't obey him (Need his power / Negate his power) at the end of the gang chokes
there are probably other instances throughout the show of Mac trying to use steps from the DENNIS system and it not working vs accidentally using the SINNED system and it very much working on dennis. much to think about.

This is genuinely so hilarious, I can't believe I already have my own fanclub 😭. You blocked me and took screenshots of my post cause you were too nervous to interact with me awwwww. I would love to know what you think a character being a "girlboss" means, cause right now the definition just sits at being a "key female character" @littl3bird .
I also love how they're proving my point! They're acting as though liking Sansa and other "feminine" female characters makes them more feminist than liking "girboss/NLOG" characters like Dany and Arya. Cause we all know being a feminist is about sorting women into (incorrect) categories and deciding which are the better examples of womanhood! Never mind that calling Arya and Dany characters who fulfill "masculine power fantasies" is, in fact, misogyny. Meanwhile, their support of those characters is shallow as hell and only done so they can use them as props. It's so hilarious that they clearly think of Arya and Dany are lesser female characters and that they're in the right for doing so. They can't even pretend to be fair or unbiased for two seconds. They literally have in their bio that they don't want you interacting with them if you think Arya and Dany could get along or like them more than Sansa!
They treat people liking both Dany and Arya as some misogynistic conspiracy against "feminine" female characters. I didn't even say anything about not liking Sansa in that post, or anywhere on my blog. I don't have any "anti Sansa" posts anywhere and all my issues are specifically with her toxic fans who act like this...yet I'm called a misogynist because I don't support the fanon version of Sansa they've made. Guess what? Disliking Sansa doesn't make someone a misogynist and acting as though she's the sole victim of misogyny in this fandom isn't going to make her more important in the story. If you really defended female characters from misogyny, then why is it that you're fine with Dany and Arya being put down to prop up Sansa? We all know the real answer even if they don't want to admit it 🤷🏾‍♀️. They couldn't care less about misogyny, it's just become a convenient tool to use to attack fans of female characters who aren't Sansa. Notice how they don't ever pull this same shit with fans of male characters?

My two most reliable fail-safes for a lack of writing motivation are:
Tell myself I only have to write for 5 minutes and then I can stop if I'm not feeling it.
Go absolutely hog wild with writing the most unabashedly over-the-top, self-indulgent prose imaginable.

man am i over people who've never actually read asoiaf shitting on it lmao
#i had two different posts willfully misinterpreting grrm cross my dash the last couple days#the aragorn tax policy quote isn't shitting on lotr or intended to be taken as a literal 'you must write about kings' tax policies' mandate#it's about how grrm is interested in different themes to tolkein#like the quote goes on to ask if aragorn commits genocide against the orcs after rotk or like what happens there how isthat tension resolve#in lotr it doesn't matter what happens to the orcs after aragorn is crowned because the story is about frodo's journey and not aragorn#and grrm KNOWS that & is literally making the point HIMSELF that asoiaf is more about the politics than lotr is#we see those tensions explored in plots like the wall with jon having to satisfy stannis the watch and the wildlings all at once#it's not an insult - it's just a fucking comparison & explanation. marketing speech more than anything close to anti-lotr hatred. like cmon#and then the second post was talking about how edmure tully is called weak for letting his smallfolk into his castle#and how that proves that george is an idiot who hates kindness and doesn't understand the medieval era#as if the other characters calling edmure weak for that wasn't kind of the entire point of the riverlands destruction arc#and it's not a purposeful contrast between edmure and other lords (specifically robb in his kingly campaign)#anyway it'd be nice if people read and used their brains to think some thoughts about what they read before talking shit.#asoiaf

Hey what are your feelings on
1. lae'zel
2. Emperor
lae'zel is actually one of the best companions in the game and everyone who hates her or says she's just mean fundamentally doesn't understand her character. she's literally the nicest girl in the world given her usual environment and upbringing. she essentially has the exact same backstory as shadowheart in that she was raised in a controlling violent cult and has spent most of her life (including the start of the game) brainwashed by that cult into the person she is today. and yet despite it all she is trying her best to help people. she DID NOT have to save you on the nautiloid and she DID NOT have to promise to take you to what she had every reason to believe was a cure-all for the tadpoles and she goes so far as to defend you and the rest of the party to other gith despite her extremely xenophobic society pressuring her around every corner to do otherwise. over the course of the game she literally had her entire way of life and belief system uprooted from top to bottom and she ultimately decides to deal with it by becoming a hero and dedicating her life to saving others from the same situation she was in. her entire character, at its core, is so extremely dedicated to helping other people even at the cost of herself. she has the same trauma and should get the same treatment and sympathy as shadowheart and you guys just don't like her because she's not conventionally attractive and standoffish at the start of the game but when you actually follow her companion quest and/or romance her she is so sweet and trying her best and she is a TOP TIER companion and i am not going to pretend like she isn't.
the emperor is one of my favorite characters in all of bg3. i know i just went off about lae'zel but god the emperor is so good. he is a LIAR. he is a Bastard Capital B In Bold. he is the deceiver trope played straight from the very beginning and you can't trust a word he says and half of act 3 is practically dedicated to proving just how full of shit he is. he is an awful person who presents himself as a savior and a hero but at the first sign of resistance or hesitation he snaps and doubles down his manipulation in an attempt to control and corral the player into doing what he wants. his first reaction to the player turning down/questioning his sex scene in any way is to gaslight and accuse them so he can shift the blame and keep up his veil of heroism. he encourages them to let go of their humanity and turn themself into a cannibalistic monster while constantly swearing it's for the greater good. he literally runs off to join the netherbrain if you free orpheus. ansur was right all along. balduran died the minute that tadpole took over and transformed him into a mindflayer and the emperor is a shell of his former self masquerading around with the same gravitas and veil of kindness he used to have, but it's gone, if it ever existed to begin with. the emperor is a fascinating example of a manipulative piece of shit done right because even the fanbase can't agree wholeheartedly on if he's good or not but if you couldn't tell my money is wholly in the "he fucking sucks guys" camp. as a character i adore him though.

I’ve been toying with the idea of a universe where classic Sans and Underfell Sans meet and… I’m afraid I don’t agree with how most authors picture their very first encounter to go.
I imagine it going sort of like this:

does anyone have recommendations for fictional media that has like. actual lesbians in it. not like supergirl Two White Skinny Girls, One Blonde and One Brunette Kiss media, or "its implied lesbianism!!!" but just regular fucking lesbians
#i say lesbians but i guess i mean sapphic#im just like. tired of gnawing#and of men also. sorry men in my life i love you but on god if i have to pretend one more man is butch just to get#content that isnt m/m or m/f im going to turn into a horse and run into the wilderness until im saved from the glue factory by a plucky#young woman except instead of letting her have her formative summer where she trains me and bonds w me and wins a competition w me#im going to commit horse suicide in front of her & change her life forever. just because im so tired of bland CW-marketable women kissing &#digging for scraps in a refuse bin while brushing aside 7002993829292929939292929399394 gay and het romances#m text#i will also take nonfictional lesbians if its like a story#not to be whiny on main but one of the hardest hurdles i had to jump wasnt realizing i was a lesbian. i came out to myself and to friends a#lesbian multiple times. but i would always walk it back when a friend would express doubt or a male friend would ask me out#bc i dont and especially then didnt know very many lesbians in person. and so i had to turn to examples#and all i fucking had were fictional women who liked men. or fictional lesbians who were so cleaned and sanitized and prettified#(you all know what i mean right. the 2 skinny white girls one blonde one brunette. im not crazy right)#and i would be like. i dont feel things when i look at these fictional lesbians so i guess i belong back here#(this is also bc my gender ended up being fuckier than i realized but shhhhh)#I WAS GOING SOMEWHERE WITH THESE TAGS but theyre too long and im lost.#anyway the point is if people werent so fucking weird abt fictional or onscreen lesbians maybe thered be a lot more people comfortable bein#out as lesbian#like sorry but this awful ouroboros of 'all lesbians onscreen have to be cute and sanitized' meaning that people write and believe wlw has#to be cute and pure and sanitized (OR a 'badge of honor' bc good for u u doodled two women together or had it as a background in ur fic)#meaning that therefore all portrayals of lesbianism continue to be like this. is just#and im also gonna be honest theres probably a lot of good sapphic media im just in the wrong circles to have stumbled into lol. so#yknow. personal viewer bias here#but i still like swing wildly between overly brandishing my dykeness as a badge to feel like im proving im lesbian#and like. backing up under a blanket bc i dont wanna be weird or annoying or freak people out#but if people just Saw Normal Ass Lesbians. aough.#im going to watch revolutionary girl utena one of these days even if i struggled w the writing style the first few episodes#I JUST WANNA SEE AN OLD BUTCH ONSCREEN GET SOME PUSSY.#like it also doesnt help im mostly femme4butch so seeing 2 femmes on screen is like. okay cool so what. but only femmes are 'marketable'

I'm back on my 'hell isn't overpopulated' bullshit, just this time with numbers (unfortunately I don't have screenshots, sorry about that). So, we know that in the last extermination 16% of the population was killed, as said by Carmilla in the overlord meeting. We also know that Lute killed 275 sinners I that same extermination. We can assume that each exterminator killed approximately 275, give or take. In the last episode we see the number of exorcists is a bit over 40, but I'll use 50 for this estimate. 50×275=13,750 so that is the approximate number of sinners dead in the last extermination, and 16% of the population. That means that there are 86,000 people in hell.
By doing this, I do see a plot hole, as Carmilla said each overlord has millions of souls, but according to my calculations the population of hell is quite small. However, I'll just say that she's talking about 16% of the city, not the entirety of hell.
Idk the size of Pentagram City, but it seems pretty big. When thinking cities, 86,000 is actually a really small number (London is at nearly 9 million, New York at aprox 8.5 million, LA at approx 3.85 mil). While Pentagram City is certainly smaller than the cities mentioned, it is still quite the contrast between the two, as they aren't even close to 1 million (even if there were 100 exorcists it wouldn't reach the 200,000 mark). So hell can't be overpopulated, even if Pentagram City is a quarter of the size of New York, there's still loads of space. That's not even mentioning the other circles of hell. So, yeah, hells not overpopulated.

Ok so. You arrive on this planet, in a physical human body for the first time, and you knew it was going to be like nothing you’d ever experienced before, but you can’t help but be totally bitchslapped by the sheer intensity of the emotions and passions and desire and fury that go along with being human. It takes you a while to get used to. Everyone around you is telling you that is very important for you to control your emotions, to control the natural tendencies of your body, and your entire community is built around a strong set of shared beliefs, including:
this body is just one step in a string of multiple lifetimes
the collective is more important than the individual, everyone is a family member, and self-sacrificing is good
exact obedience to the law is essential for everyone and is always a good thing
repressing controlling your body’s emotions and urges completely is a moral imperative and the only correct path
of course we’re the good guys, we make things better, it is absolutely crucial for the good of the whole world that we convert/assimilate as many people as possible because the natural man is violent and evil, who gives a fuck about the cultures we’re destroying and people we’re harming?
Only you can’t seem to repress and control everything, you have a shameful little secret, and there’s a voice inside you that keeps fighting back and says this isn’t right. It keeps on talking and you can’t get it to shut up no matter how hard you try, so finally you listen to it and you leave that tight knit community where everyone is smiling and nice and yet where you know you’ll be treated like a freak and a failure if you admit to that voice in your head. Leaving makes you look like you’ve lost your mind to them, but you leave anyway.
You leave, you find a new community of people, you’re scared of everything at first and you have to try to figure out how to live in this new world and let go of the rules and beliefs you were taught. Now that you are out of a community where everyone is obligated to treat each other like brothers and sisters, you discover that some people dislike you, but you also discover that making genuine friends is that much more special. You learn that a lot of your assumptions about the world outside your bubble were wrong. You figure out that it’s ok not to repress all your emotions, and it’s ok to be a little selfish sometimes too. And you realize that some things you did in the past—things you were taught were good and right—were actually bad and harmful, and you do your best to set them right.
You accept the idea that, instead of this life being a mere stopping point in an eternal existence, it is the most important and only life you’ll have—that the end of this life will genuinely be the end, so it matters what you do with it. The rest of your life is going to be very different from how you expected it to be, but it’s going to be good. And finally, you begin to find other people like you, who left and learned the same things you have.
So: did I just describe the journey of an exmormon or the protagonist’s journey in Stephenie Meyer’s The Host?
