Fanfic Idea! (Lucemond, Hogwarts AU)
Lucerys was no hat stall, it taking only five seconds before the word "Ravenclaw!" left the hat's "mouth". He still can't believe he was placed in Ravenclaw. He didn't feel smart at all! He also felt a bit disappointed, not being in the same house as his brother, a proper red and gold Gryffindor like almost every Targaryen, but seeing Jace cheer the loudest as he made his way to the blue and bronze table made him feel a bit better, at least, enough to ignore the fact that his table was next to that of Slytherin. He's particularly ignoring a certain green, one-eyed third year's glare, opting to sit farthest away, back facing the green and sliver table, not willing to acknowledge any of his uncles.
He was a bit startled when a cool finger poked the nape of his neck, but after turning around and seeing a certain fifth year Ravenclaw, he instantly relaxed. With Helaena by his side, his uncles would, at the very least, not try anything "funny".
"Hello, aunt." A real, albeit small, smile on his face as he greeted his aunt. He hadn't seen her in years, ever since the... incident.
She had seemed fine enough, more mature than she used to be. Her face lost most of the baby fat, her long white hair clipped with what looked to be a dragonfly hair clip, her uniform perfect, save for what Lucerys believes to be mud at the bottom, though it was a bit too dark to be sure, and a beetle necklace, though Lucerys was not sure what kind. She looked as dazed as Lucerys remembered her to be, as if she was in a different plane of existence, though when he greeted her, she seemed to somewhat return from wherever her mind took her to.
"Hello, dear nephew." She answered, her voice soft and dreamy, as she stared not at Lucerys, but at her hands. It was then that Lucerys noticed his aunt's source of wonder, a spider, weaving it's web around his aunt's fingers. "Congratulations, the thread of blue has been weaved into the tapestry, though amidst the red, black and green, it does seem to have no place in the image envisioned. Alas, only the weavers know of it's purpose."
He nodded awkwardly. Even now, he does not understand much of what his aunt would say. Being a dragon dreamer, she often speaks only in riddles, rarely does a straightforward sentence leave her lips. As a younger boy, he would often ignore her in favor of his uncles and brother, who were quick to let him join, as his face would be used to escape the punishment of whatever scheme Aegon concucted.
But things are different now. And he does need someone from his own house to guide him in the school. He can't always rely on Jace being there for him. It was time to stretch his own wings, but he needed to be cautious, and what safer person to be with than the sister of the very person he needs to be protected from? Thank Merlin he wasn't placed in Hufflepuff, otherwise he truly would have no one, and the likelihood of his body being found floating around the Great Lake before he gets to have his first breakfast in Hogwarts would be exceedingly high.
After everyone was sorted, the Headmaster, his grandfather, welcomed everyone warmly. Lucerys winced a bit, noticing the way his grandfather used the podium to keep him from falling. Fortunately, his speech was short, encouraging everyone to enjoy the feast prepared. He quickly returned to his seat at the head of the table, miraculously having the strength to keep him upright.
He did, in fact, enjoy the feast, particularly the lemon cakes placed right in front of him. It at least distracted him from the obvious whispers from different tables, and the still glaring eye of his uncle.
Once all the plates were cleared, instead of his father, there was Otto, the Headmaster's right hand man, telling everyone to enjoy their night's sleep, as their first day would start tomorrow.
Helaena, who turned out to be the Ravenclaw's prefect, stood beside her male counterpart, and led the first years to the Ravenclaw tower. It had so many stairs, and by the time they reached the entrance, most of the first years, Lucerys included, were tired, sweaty, and sleepy.
The male prefect told all of them that their door is different from the others. Instead of passwords, their door asks riddles. Get the answer right, and the door will open for you. It does not have a limit to how many guesses you make, but if you truly cannot answer, you would need to wait for someone else to answer it for you.
Lucerys hopes he truly was sorted in the right house, and secretly prays to all the gods that he wouldn't be one of the students stuck waiting outside for someone to help them get in. That would be embarrassing.
Once the male prefect answered the riddle, they were led to a beautifully furnished blue common room. There, Lucerys sees another familiar face. His grandmother, Rhaenys, in a high collared blue dress, looking as regal as ever, fitting perfectly with the regal decorations of the room. She was strict, but kind, introducing herself as Professor Velaryon, the head of Ravenclaw House. She then informed them that she would provide them the rules of the Ravenclaw Tower, when their brains can actually absorb her words. She greeted them a good night, before gesturing to them to go to their rooms. Lucerys felt her gaze on him a few times, though he doesn't know how she must feel to see him under her care once again. Helaena led the girls to their rooms, waving a quick goodbye to Lucerys as he followed the male prefect to his side.
When he finally laid on the bed, he felt the tears he held back come pouring out. It was stupid, he knows, but he can't help it. He misses Dragonstone, he misses his old room, his mother, his grandfather, Corlys, his brothers and step-sisters, and Arrax, his dragon, who sadly wasn't on the list of pets students were allowed to bring with them. He was never alone, always with a family member, or a servant, or a private maester.
Realizing that he was laying on an unfamiliar bed, with strangers in the same room must have made him conscious of how alone he now was. And he didn't like it at all. It made him conscious of how much he truly missed home.
He hoped his mother won't be too upset he was an eagle rather than a lion, though he knows she would just pat his cheek and tell him that her own mother was a Ravenclaw, and that they were all dragons at the end of the day (he knows this because she did say this when he asked what she would do if he didn't get sorted into Gryffindor). He knows his step-father, the Head of Griffyndor House, Daemon, would have felt a bit unhappy he wouldn't be under his care, like Jace, but would say something in the lines of, "better a bird than a snake". He knows his other grandfather, Corlys, would be proud, saying that blue fits him more, anyway. Again, he doesn't know how his grandmother felt, but he hopes there would be some part of her that was pleased he got into her house.
He tried to breath properly, hoping his roommates didn't hear his sniffling. He tried to think of something less sad, so he could stop.
He allowed his mind to wander. What would Jace be doing right now? Would he sit with Lucerys on the Ravenclaw table for a bit for breakfast? He hoped not, despite wanting to break his fast with him. He and Aegon would start fighting again, and there was a reason why Gryffindors and Slytherins were seated far away from each other. Mayhaps he could sit with the Gryffindor table instead? But wouldn't that look like rejecting his new house? No, better they eat separately. They could always see each other beyond the dining hall. What were Baela and Rhaena doing? Were they enjoying Beauxbatons? He hopes they were. He wonders if they entered Hogwarts, what would their houses be? Baela was definitely a Gryffindor, Rhaena would fit in Ravenclaw, more than he would, at least. Maybe Daemon and his grandmother would threaten the hat so he would place them under their care? It would be hilarious to watch if Baela would get sent to Slytherin. She would rage and Daemon would threaten to cut the hat in half with Dark Sister. His grandfather would have to sew the hat back together and beg for it's forgiveness. He hoped, though he knows it wouldn't really happen, that Rhaena would transfer to Hogwarts, maybe they could sneak in each other's room to read and tell stories, like they did in Dragonstone, but what would....
So on and on Lucerys thought happier thoughts until he finally slept. When he opened his eyes, he was determined to have a good first day.

Day 5 of #LcmdFatedAu event: Classic fantasy.
Inspired by the "Harry Potter" series, featuring lucemond as tomarry.

The entire wizarding world held its breath in anticipation of the next realm's delight, the boy who was promised, wondering whether he would join the ranks of Hufflepuff considering his charming personality, or follow in his brother's Gryffindor footsteps.
When the moment finally arrived and he stepped into Hogwarts, the Sorting Hat's declaration was immediate and resounding: "SLYTHERIN," it cried as soon as it dropped on his head.
Lucerys found himself face-to-face with his uncle, who was his senior by four years.
The smirking and smug of face Aemond Targaryen, familiar yet different, gave Lucerys a pause in his carefully written life plans. Slowly, he returned the smirk.
In contrast to other families, the inbreeding in the Targaryens did not produce squibs; however, they couldn't evade the madness that coursed within their blood. Lucerys was always aware that his uncle fell under that predicament, thoughless and cruel, a certain belief confirmed further by the eye scar incident five years ago and the discovery of his dragon dreams.
Aemond's affinity for the dark arts was an open secret, yet his mother, hailing from one of the lightest families of the Sacred 28, took it upon herself to "guide him onto the path of light." This was despite the fact that all her offspring bore the blood of dragons.
Lucerys embraced the task of dismantling Aemond's tyrannical notions regarding purebloods and Muggle-borns. Moreover, it wasn't a secret that Aemond had developed an unsettling fixation on him. Still, Lucerys couldn't find fear within himself nor reject the attention he garnered.
It was alluring in a way, the freedom from not having to live up to being the world's saviour, to be wanted solely for who you truly were.
In time, their connection deepened into love. This became another scandal, coinciding with his mother and Daemon's marriage. History doesn't repeat itself, but it certainly carries an inherent rhyme that keeps on playing in the background.
But love alone couldn't shield Aem from his destiny. Despite Luke's plea that he forsake immortality & unreasonable power, it all came to nought. His ominous dreams held a promise for a miserable future for both of them; one lost in the shadows and the other buried under flames.
Aemond's darker inclinations ultimately consumed him. He betrayed Luke's trust and oaths, fully embracing his Voldemort identity during the four years of separation from Lucerys. Luke was left heartbroken, grieving the loss of the love he believed they shared.
Luke tried to confront Aemond about soul magic and its consequences. Regrettably, Aemond remained obstinate, his mind frayed, his magic nibbling at his rationality and logic. He realized too late that his lover was irretrievable.
His aemond was lost to a morbid dream.
"My affection for you was never as innocent as children's fables; it was much more insidious. It engulfed the world, expanding ceaselessly. My love's threads were void, consisting only of myself, and the days elapsed until they could no longer bear me. Nothing had ever carried me away from this world until I thought my soul was forfeit, that perhaps I had died." - Lucerys Velaryon
When the moment of reckoning arrived, a crucial decision compelled Luke to decide between saving Voldemort (or what remained of Aemond) and protecting the Wizarding World. The love he held for Aemond clashed with his duty as the "Chosen One," leaving Luke shattered by the heartbreaking decision he was forced to make. Yet, as difficult as it was, he persisted.
After destroying the 7 horcruxes (where a piece of him shatters along the vanquished soul pieces of aemond), Lucerys sacrificed himself to deliver the final blow that destroyed the last horcrux, which Luke discovered had dwelled within him since the eye incident.
Without looking back, and after believing his love was forever gone, Luke departed from the station on the train to the afterlife. He didn’t wait for Aemond to follow or spared a glance for those who were still alive, ready to serve him up like a pig for slaughter.
As the train carried Lucerys onward, he held Aemond's Slytherin cloth pin, passing through the tapestry of his memories. His soul pounded against his ribcage, pleading to be released, seeking his heart, yearning for its holder.
He understood the bittersweet truth—there was no "everafter" for Aemond. there was nothing real in his story except himself, alongside the companionship of his missing heart. For his love, his lover, their world, & all the creations their love spawned held nothing of reality.

Loving the new Luke x Aemond content! Would you consider mixing fandoms? What do you think a hotd hp au would look like? There’s already the basis for the whole blood purity thing! What Houses do you think they would all be in? I think Aemond would either be in Slytherin for his ambitions to be a dragon rider or in Gryffindor for being bold enough to claim the biggest dragon around. I think Luke would be a Hufflepuff cos he’s so Loyal to his family but I could see him as a Gryffindor as well. Head of Slytherin Daemon 🤔 I could totally see the tension of Luke and his bros being Halfbloods from this really old pureblood family. What do you think?

I think Aemond would be either Slytherin or Ravenclaw - given his whole speech about how much effort he puts into his studies and how important it is to him to excel in that area (though that drive is purely from his ambitions, so he'd likely be more Slytherin-aligned).
And for Luke...yeah I think Hufflepuff fits. Loyalty is a big thing, but there's also the stereotype that Hufflepuffs are the 'weak' House, and they're constantly underestimated, etc. That fits well with Luke's personality as well because we all know that kid can turn feral at the drop of a hat if his family is threatened. Everyone would think he's super adorable and chill but Aemond knows. He'd be like:
The incorporation of the pureblood vs halfblood thing as well would be a good HP!verse discord to add to the whole bastard-children thing as well!

a daemyra hp au where daemon is sent to northern europe as a young boy to straighten him up; graduated at durmstrang institute, a school notorious for prominently featuring the dark arts in its curriculum, and became a professor.
after many years, the new triwizard tournament is about to begin. arriving at hogwarts, he reunites with his older brother viserys, who became a member of the ministry of magic; and his niece rhaenyra, the prefect of house gryffindor.
He knew he should be rooting for his students. But his eyes followed his niece with her damn platinum hair, arrogant tilt of head and devilish smirk on her pink lips.
Daemon felt proud and caught in the net at the same time. He was sure Rhaenyra was hellbent on winning. He was terrified and ready to kill when something went very wrong during tournament and few students went missing. Rhaenyra was among them.

Okay so James is the most like Harwin. Both have himbo energy; ENFPs, Gryffindor, Aries. They think with their heart, rather than their head.
At first I thought Sirius was most like Daemon, and that is slightly true. But when he has his guard down, he’s a lot like Harwin. Daemon is so calculating and you never know what he’s thinking, where Harwin is straight forward and genuine. And Sirius is desperate for love, where Daemon has huge ambitions.
Remus is like 45% Harwin & 55% Daemon. He’s got a good head on his shoulders, but he’s also grounded. He’s determined but not overly ambitious. Like the best parts of each HotD boys.

PARK SEOJIN / PERSONALITY BREAKDOWN
MBTI — ESTP: THE ENTREPRENEUR
extroverted, sensing, thinking, prospecting
True to this typing, Seojin is bold, perceptive, practical, risk-prone, defiant, and unstructured. They’re said to be the life of the party and always out doing something, loving to be the center of attention. It’s often that he will put himself out there if push comes to shove. This comes down to expressing his opinions as well as his presence. He has a fairly blunt sense of humor and can often be insensitive without realizing it, as being practical rather than emotional reigns supreme in his mind. To him, it’s better to do rather than think. This looking before leaping gets him in trouble more often than not but he’ll always back track and frantically try to fix his mistakes. At the very least, he’ll be proactive about it.

As someone with the need to constantly be in control of his own fate, Seojin fits into this typecast well. They’re often plagued with temper problems and the hesitance to show any sort of vulnerability. He will often become confrontational when faced with any issues and will sometimes get a bit aggressive or intimidating if need be. However, he will use his knack for taking initiative to help others and become someone who’s self-reliant. He is a pillar to lean on no matter how domineering he can seem from time to time. Once under his umbrella, he will protect those close to him with fierceness.
HOGWARTS HOUSE — GRYFFINDOR
brave, chivalrous, courageous, bold, daring
Upon getting to know Seojin, it becomes fairly obvious that he fits into Gryffindor to the last hair on his head. Being the incredibly bold and defiant young man he is, it’s easy to see why he does. He will be the first to step on the front lines to take the brunt and the last to abandon a friend or comrade in times of crisis. Streaks of a rebellious nature ring true within him, and he likes to live a little bit on the edge even if it means putting him in danger. He isn’t afraid to bend the rules to achieve good results. The ends justify the means.
DAEMON — CAPRINE
loyal, self-assured, introspective, gregarious, impulsive
In theme with the previous results, this result is indicative of how headstrong and confident he is when it comes to his place in this world. Though he can often be sensitive to feeling vulnerable, he’ll shove that away with an easy-going nature that will often become more closed off the closer you get. He tends to not think things through and acts on his whims, though when it comes down to it, he will always come through for friends.

Which hogwarts house do you think the characters of the dance era would be sorted into? Sorry if you answered this question before
Hi there!
It has never been asked of me no, and I am so FREAKING EXCITED TO ANSWER THIS ONE! The ASOIAF along with Harry Potter books are by far my favourite sagas ever, and I think no one writes characters like George and JK, so I cannot wait to mix the two XD
Before I begin though, quick reminder of the core traits of each of the four Hogwarts Houses.
Gryffindor - Courage, Bravery, Determination, Daring, Nerve, Chivalry.
Slytherin - Resourcefulness, Determination, Pride, Cunning, Ambition, Self-preservation.
Ravenclaw - Wit, Learning, Wisdom, Acceptance, Intelligence, Creativity.
Hufflepuff - Hard-working, Patience, Fairness, Just, Loyalty, Modesty.
I am starting from the most important characters and moving down to the more background characters. And where could I start other than with the two main figures of the Dance, the Rogue Prince and the Realm's Delight? Which luckily for me, are also two of the easiest characters to sort into a house.
Daemon Targaryen - Slytherin (to the bone). I feel a description of someone from House Slytherin is almost a perfect description of Daemon. Yes, I do believe he also possessed traits from Gryffindor house, but his Slytherin traits of being cunning, proud, ambitious, as well as resourcefulness are definitely the most important aspects of his character I would argue.
Rhaenyra Targaryen - Gryffindor without a shadow of a doubt. The Princess of Dragonstone was described as bold since her days as a child. She was the youngest character we know to become a dragonrider. She died with a dragon about to burn and eat her alive and yet instead of cowering and begging, Rhaenyra rose her head high to throw one last insult at her shit of a half-brother. Her core trait above all others is bravery, and even if she is also proud, as those of Slyhterin house are, I feel the hat would send her to Gryffindor the moment it touched her head.
On a side note I find the Slytherin/Gryffindor combo the hottest - little surprise that Godric Gryffindor and Salazar Slytherin were once best friends - and I will never forgive JK for not giving it to us.
Corlys Velaryon - Slytherin. While the Sea Snake also has some Gryffindor traits, I feel his ambition and cunning does shine through more often than the rest. He's a black but he's wearing green same as Daemon.
Rhaenys "The queen who never was" Targaryen - Gryffindor (!!!). There could be no other house for the woman who fearlessly took on Aegon II and Aemond. And on another side note, she had more balls than those two clowns put together.
Viserys Targaryen I - Hufflepuff. He liked the good life, and he wasn't brave, ambitious, or smart enough - definitely not smart enough - to be sent to the other houses. I think he would have been one of those cases in which sweet Helga Hufflepuff just took pity on him because let's face it, no one else would want him. To a point ok he was loyal to his daughter so that must count for something XD
Alicent Hightower - Slytherin (duh). A woman whose colour was green and that was ambitious before anything else. This was so easy, the hat would only need to brush against her hair.
Otto Hightower - Slytherin. Do I need to explain this one? I think not.
Aegon II Targaryen - Slytherin. Now apologies to Slytherin house to be stuck with this trash bag (and Slytherin is my house btw), but I feel I got nowhere else to put him. Unlike with his father though, I feel Helga would want nothing to do with him. He was lazy - complete opposite of someone from Hufflepuff. Glutenous. Only wanted to get laid. And besides being a Targaryen (half), he has no good quality I can name. I almost feel like he would be a Crabbe or a Goyle so that's why he's getting sent to Slytherin.
Aemond Targaryen - Slytherin. Contrary to popular opinion there was nothing brave about his dude except the time he claimed Vhagar. He was a coward who only went to face Rhaenys with his brother, and would only face Daemon when Daemon was alone. He died like a little 🏝 and no one from Gryffindor would die like a little 🏝 - I say this as a proud Slytherin.
Helaena Targaryen - Hufflepuff. There's not much of a personality for me to examine here, but she was described as pleasant and happy. I feel Helga would like her.
Daeron Targaryen - Hufflepuff though I could also say Gryffindor. I think Daeron could be a hatstall for sure. While it's impossible to doubt his bravery and he was called "daring", I do think his loyalty to his family and how much he tried to do the right thing are more core elements of his than his bravery. That being said I could go with either. Maybe 55% Hufflepuff and 45% Gryffindor.
Criston Cole - Gryffindor. Oh, you thought all the trash was going to Slytherin?! Think again! Godric, I am so sorry I am bestowing an incel to your proud house but it is what it is, honey. If nothing else Criston was brave, and him turning to the Greens was not for ambition but because Rhaenyra's denied him her 🐈 aka hand in marriage. He gives me some Peter Petigrew vibes, I mean guy was a rat, and he did died challenging someone to a duel. So yeah... Gryffindor. Sorry again, Godric.
I need something to cleanse my palate right now 🤢🤮 Moving on to some Blacks for the sake of my sanity.
Jacaerys "Jace" Velaryon - Gryffindor. Had all the traits that would make Godric proud. Died fighting for his mama.
Lucerys "Luke" Velaryon - Gryffindor. Again, brave and courageous, died like a true Gryffindor.
Joffrey Velaryon - Gryffindor. Same as his brothers, wanted to fight himself when he heard about Luke and wasn't afraid to risk his life to save his dragon.
And now to the two most precious and special boys!
Aegon III Targaryen - Gryffindor or Hufflepuff. Like Daeron, Aegon would likely be another hatstall. I honestly cannot decide what is more prevalent about him. While he doubts his own courage, and him leaving Viserys behind will likely not make many people see him as a Gryffindor, with the years he did show himself to be braver than what he knew - reminds me of Neville Longbottom. At the same time I also feel he has so many of the wonderful Hufflepuff qualities. Final thoughts: letting y'all decide.
Viserys II Targaryen - Slytherin or Ravenclaw or even Gryffindor. One of the smartest and most capable Hands/Kings Westeros ever had. A precocious child with a great mind that I think would do so well in Ravenclaw. At the same time, Viserys is described as shrewd which is very much a Slytherin thing. And yet he wasn't afraid to pick up arms to protect those he loved which is very Gryffindor. Gun to my head: Slytherin like his papa.
Baela Targaryen - Gryffindor. I feel I would waste time to even explain this because it's so obvious.
Rhaena Targaryen - Slytherin. Bet you weren't counting on this one?😏 Rhaena was cunning, she knew what to do to get what she wanted, which is very Slytherin of her.
Addam of Hull/Addam Velaryon - Hufflepuff. He also has a lot of Gryffindor traits but he was loyal above all things, so he's going to Hufflepuff. Hufflepuff deserves someone of Addam's caliber!
Alyn of Hull/Alyn Velaryon - Slytherin. Corlys's son through and through. It's Slytherin for him.
Mysaria of Lys "Lady Misery" - Slytherin (DUH!). No explanation required we all agree.
Laenor Velaryon - Ravenclaw. He almost doesn't have a personality to speak of - besides being gay - but I believe he did like to travel, so it gave me some Gilderoy Lockhart vibes. At the same time he also didn't seem to give a damn about what people thought of him and that gives me Luna vibes. Off to Ravenclaw with him!
Harwin Strong - Gryffindor. The dude was called "Breakbones" 🤷♀️ I don't have a whole lot to work with.
Laena Velaryon - Gryffindor. This was another especially hard one since again, little to no personality. But since she was said to be adventurous and she did claim Vhagar, I am sending Laena to Gryffindor house.
Last and least to be honest 😂
Mushroom - Ravenclaw. He didn't lack for an "imagination" and he did write a book I guess XD
Septon Eustace - Ravenclaw. A studious man. I got nothing else, but I do feel the two dudes who wrote most of the events of the Dance should go to Ravenclaw.

9. AUs? what kind?
Edits aren’t quite responsive since they’re not quite AUs that I’d say I gravitate towards, but more AUs I’d love to see people’s take on (I’ll actually answer the question below).
First, Gwen as selkie (and not the Torchwood selkie which seems to be an opposite selkie) isn’t something I’ve seen done (though if you know of a fic that has done this, please send it my way!). There is something about the soulfulness of her eyes that says selkie to me. A little snippet of something for flavor:
Gwen loved Rhys. He was a much kinder man than the man whole stole her from the sea. He loved her because he loved her, not because he owned her.
That was more than many mortal men could boast.
Second, I would love to see a Torchwood/Vita Nostra fusion where Tosh was recruited to the Institute of Special Technologies and goes through the terrifying transformation and education we witness in the novel, but ultimately rejects her place and her power. She retains her brilliance but is always a little afraid from that point on of what she is capable of of. A little snippet of flavor:
She built the sonic modulator with the same sick feeling in her stomach that she had carried with her when she first joined the Institute of Special Technologies. She remembered when she sleep deprivation was driving her to madness and incoherence; she remembered when her studies suffered and her mother was in a near fatal automobile accident. A reminder, her mentor had said, and an incentive to study harder. She remembered the horrible accidents that befell all her classmate’s family members (broken bones, heart attacks, just-too-coincidental deaths); remembered that they were all taken hostage, their families held as ransom or collateral, until the lessons overtook their senses and they fell into the heady trap of being powerful. She was careful, while building the sonic modulator, to not become too interested, to not let her sense of capability outstrip her sense of fear.
She would not forget how to be human twice.
And to actually answer the questions. YES, I love AUs. Excluding my already professed love of Chosen One!Ianto and my continual insistence that everybody, Suzie included, should live, here are some of my favorite AUs (in general, I love things that decrease the stakes for everyone involved because these days I just want to be coddled and comforted):
1. Time Lord Tosh or Ianto: I just think Time Lord Tosh makes a whole lot of sense and that she would make a fantastic companion to the Doctor (regardless of whether she’s human or a Time Lord, so that’s another AU for you, Companion!Tosh). And of course, I love the different ways that people tackle Ianto and Jack after Ianto regains his Time Lord senses (Does he get over it by sheer force of will/love? Does Jack’s fixedness not bother him at all? Does he choose to live as a human because he can’t bear to be with Jack as a Time Lord and he also can’t bear to be without him?).
2. The Team in Boeshane: I love the idea of the whole team being taken by the Rift and dropped off in Boeshane, either with or without Jack and while past-Jack is there or not. I just love Jack’s mother taking members of the team in.
3. Harry Potter AUs: I think that it’s our prerogative to pry this universe out of J.K. Rowling’s hands, take the interesting bits, and then tell better stories in it. I headcanon Ianto as a Slytherin, Tosh as a Ravenclaw, Gwen as a Gryffindor, Owen as a Hufflepuff, and Jack as a Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, or Slytherin (depending on what happened to his family life prior to his sorting; if there are no incidents, Hufflepuff; if there was an incident with Gray, but his parent(s) didn’t reject him, Gryffindor; if there was an incident with Gray and he has a fraught or non-existent relationship with his parent(s), Slytherin).
4. Daemons AUs: I especially love Daemon AUs that keep the touching taboo and think about how the existence of daemons would impact modern life. I think that the existence of daemons also has interesting ramifications for Suzie and Ianto. Does Suzie persist with the glove even though it can’t bring back a person’s daemon? I think you could characterize her either way. Does Lisa retain her daemon despite her partial conversion? I tend to think so and that the persistence of her daemon is the reason why Ianto doesn’t give up; when her daemon disappears is when he knows its over even if he can’t accept it yet. I don’t have a lot of defined thoughts about the daemons I’d give the team except that usually, I think of Suzie with a bird, Ianto with a scavenger, and Gwen with a canine. Jack, Tosh, and Owen are more variable in my head. I would also love to see broader HDM AUs that take more of the universe than just the existence of daemons (give me witches and the science of dust).
5. Coffee Shop AUs: Kinda. I’ve never really been particularly into Coffee Shop AUs specifically, though I do love them in the general way that I love fluffy Torchwood-doesn’t-exist AUs (Jack is a traveling artist and Ianto his muse, Gwen is a legitimate psychic who consults with law enforcement, Rhys and Ianto run a restaurant together, Owen as the A&E doctor who treats Tosh after a welding accident, Jack is a sci-fi author and Ianto writes mysteries; the possibilities are endless!), but now I’m a bit of a coffee snob (this happened independent of Torchwood; I developed my coffee habit and snobbery years after watching Torchwood) and know people who roast coffee, so I just want to see more coffee geekery. I do wonder how blasphemous it would be to update Ianto’s coffee tastes to be more in line with third wave coffee roasting preferences/innovations (which was certainly alive and well in the 2000s, especially in certain cities, but hadn’t seemed to hit Cardiff yet).
6. Role Reversal AUs: For when I feel like keeping the stakes the same, I love AUs that put Ianto in charge of Torchwood Three by whatever twist of fate you’d like with Jack working under him. Sometimes he’s immortal (so he takes on Jack’s backstory minus the coming from the future bit), sometimes he’s not (he gets put into power before or after Canary Wharf, though after seems most likely). Sometimes Jack grew up on Earth (either because his entire backstory has been changed or he was taken by the Rift as a child) and sometimes he didn’t (he can still be immortal or he can be a stranded Time Agent/Time Agent in hiding).
7. Dogs AU: Honestly I can’t explain myself. It’s completely silly and I love it. I don’t know if I’ve seen one of these in the Torchwood fandom, but AU where the whole cast are dogs and they meet at a dog park or their humans are neighbors. Jack is a retired military dog. Ianto spent some time as a street dog, was rescued, then there was some incident that put him back on the street, before being adopted (possible by Jack’s human(s)). Gwen is a former police dog that was pulled to join an experimental medical program and she now spends her days sniffing out neurodegenerative diseases. Owen is a therapy dog; his humans don’t get it because he hates strangers, but it’s like he’s a different dog around those in need. Tosh is a scarily intelligent dog who is part of the cohort of animals that is being taught how to communicate using a speech board.

My Beyblade AUs and Fic Ideas
I realized today that I’ve been creating Beyblade AUs and storylines in my head for almost 20 years and, since I’m not much of an artist or fic writer, I’ve decided to just compile a summary list of some of my favourites (this is not by any means a complete list).
Note that I am a KaiTakao shipper (it is my Ultimate OTP!) and so some of my ideas did come about primarily as KaiTakao shipping.
Actor AU - “Beyblade” is a live-action show, and all the Beyblade characters are actors. They take part in interviews, ‘Behind The Scene’ specials, and there’s blooper reels!
Avatar the Last Airbender AU - Takao is an Airbender, Kai is a Firebender, Max is a Waterbender, and Rei is an Earthbender who studies other nations bending techniques and has mastered lightning redirection as a result. I have backgrounds written for each of the boys (for instance, Takao’s mom was an Airbender who was killed in a Fire Nation raid on an Air Temple!), but this would get way too long if I wrote it all here.
Battle AU - One of my favourite and oldest personal AUs (that I still need to come up with a better name for). Everything from the series is the same, except instead of Beyblade battles the teams physically fight each other in a martial arts style tournament. Some fighters can manifest their ‘fighting spirit’ as a Sacred Beast, which grants them special moves and powers based on their respective Beast and Element. (The music on my phone often serves as a ‘soundtrack’ to the fight scenes that play out in my head). The Beyblade dish is now a life-size arena; for example, in the finale of Season 1, Takao would have fought Tala in an arena made like a snow-covered forest. It is possible for fighters to swap Sacred Beasts, but it’s extremely dangerous and the backlash of using a Beast/Element you have little affinity for is immense.
BEGA Takao AU - In G Revolutions, Takao snaps and joins BEGA after feeling abandoned by Kai, Max and Rei (similar to how Kai went ‘dark’ and joined the Demolition Boys in Season 1).
BeySwap AU- Everthing from the series is the same, except everyone has a different Bitbeast (eg. Max has Driger, Takao has Dranzer, etc). This AU can also apply to my Battle AU, as mentioned above.
Clone AU - (KaiTakao) After Boris’s attempt to clone powerful Bitbeasts in season 1 fails, he decides to try cloning the Ultimate Beyblader instead. He creates two clones from the combined DNA of Takao and Kai, resulting in Makoto and Gou.
Drama CD AU - (Kai/Takao) After Takao retires from Beyblading, he starts earning money by endorsing products, doing celebrity appearances for tv shows and events, etc. He’s asked by a company to be a ‘special guest voice’ on one of their Romance Drama CDs, and ends up being surprisingly good at it (after a rocky start).
Harry Potter AU - Self explanatory. I generally tend to sort the Bladebreakers as; Takao & Daichi in Gryffindor, Max & Hilary in Hufflepuff, Rei & Kenny in Ravenclaw and Kai in Slytherin. But I honestly can make a case for putting each of the main 4 boys in at least one other House. Examples; Takao could be a Slytherin based on his actions in G-Rev, both Max and Kai could totally be Ravenclaws, and so on.
His Dark Materials AU - The Beyblade characters live in the world created by Philip Pullman where your soul takes form outside your body in the form of an animal that best represents you, called a Daemon.
Mafia/Yakuza AU - (KaiTakao; Enemies-to-Friends-To-Lovers) Kai is a member of the Russian mafia, Takao is a member of the Japanese Yakuza. Both are from powerful mob families, each currently run by their respective grandfathers.
Magical Boy AU - One of my favourite AUs, I have two versions. One is based on a combination of Cardcaptor Sakura, Sailor Moon and Revolutionary Girl Utena, and the other is mainly based on Puella Magi Madoka Magica (which is why I also call that one ‘Puer Magi Takao Magica’ lol). Like the ATLA AU, this post would become way too long if I tried to write down the whole thing.
Music AU’s - I actually have three music-based AUs. One where the Bladebreakers are a band, one where all the Beyblade characters are members of an orchestra, and one where all Beybladers are blader/singers like Ming Ming, which I sometimes call my Idol AU, where all battles are a combo of Beyblade battles and sing/dance offs. These AUs exist because I often imagine the Beyblade characters singing/performing to whatever music I’m listening to when I’m on the bus.
Nier Automata AU - Based on one of my favourite video game series. Each of the Bladebreakers is a model of YoRHa android, charged by the Council of Humanity to fight in a war to reclaim the Earth against invading aliens and their Machine Lifeforms.
Pokemon AU - Self explanatory. I’ve created a Pokemon team for almost every Beyblade character.
Steven Universe AU - Beyblade characters as Gems. In some versions of this AU Max takes the place of Steven as the half-Gem, half-human hybrid main character, and in others it’s Takao. I particularly enjoy this AU because of the potential Fusions and Fusion Dancing <3. And I just love the SU series in general.
Sun/Moon God AU - (KaiTakao) Kai is the god of the sun, Takao is the god of the moon, Rei is the god of the earth and Max is the god of the sea. (You might have seen the moodboards I created for this AU).
Vampire AU - I love this AU because, thanks to the Dark Bladers, there is a canon vampire (and werewolf) in the Beyblade series, and therefore I think that a Vamp AU could potentially happen for real lmao. I have a ton of different versions, the Vamp AU umbrella is huge and I change it up depending on what I feel like.
Yuri On Ice! AU - Pretty self-explanatory, all the main Beyblade teams are ice dancers. (I even made a jokey meme about it, comparing Takao, Kai and Tala to Yuri K, Victor and Yuriy P).

PERSONALITY TESTS ☀
MBTI: ESFP - T (THE ENTERTAINER)
pinning down an mbti type for indy is kind of hard. while indy’s primary goal in life, if he has any at all, is to make as many people smile as possible, he’s kind of an ambivert. he’s very friendly and will go up to just about anybody and talk to them, especially if they look like they need cheering up. anyone that shares an interest with him is instantly his friend. at the same time he’s a little...shy? not in a traditional sense, but in the fact that he’s pretty easily embarrassed, very humble, and a little bit uncomfortable as the center of attention, even if he tries not to show it. in the end, his love for people prevails, so E it is! (60% to 40%)
the S in indy’s mbti primarily comes from his need to physically do things in order to process anything. he’s also not a very deep thinker; he focuses more on the present day and the obvious (though sometimes he even misses that...) that being said, he doesn’t mind deeper conversations, especially if the other person is really interested in the topic. just...don’t necessarily expect him to contribute anything meaningful, and he may not understand everything. sometimes he does, though! he has some thoughts, head not entirely empty. (54% to 46%)
indy’s parents, especially his mother, taught their kids to value love and peace above all else. as such, they really instilled a deep compassion in indy, and he’s incredibly tender-hearted. he’s pretty in touch with his emotions, though he’s not necessarily always that self aware. he tries to hide his negative emotions from other people, but he definitely follows his heart more than his head. he’s definitely a solid F type. (79% to 21%)
indy has adhd and just about everything in his life is a mess at any given time, whether that’s literally or figuratively. he’s horrible at staying organized, chronically late, bad at following routines, and bad at focusing. he’s on medication for it, which helps a lot, but he’s still naturally a person that’s kind of all over the place, so typing him as P is easy too. (81% to 19%)
the T comes from indy’s relative lack of confidence. he’s very aware he’s not good at much, at least as far as being a trainee goes, and while it doesn’t bother him as much as it should, it makes him feel a little...unsteady?? he’d feel a lot more secure in his life if he had a real talent he could fall back on. skateboarding, maybe, making people smile, hopefully, but he’s lived a lifetime of being second place at best; he doesn’t even know if he’s meant to be great. (58% to 42%)
ENNEAGRAM: TYPE 9
type nines are the peacemakers of the enneagram types; they don’t rock the boat, they want everyone to be happy, they’re easygoing, they’re tolerant, they’re conflict averse-- all indy to a t. it makes sense, considering his lowkey hippie parents are all about peace and love, something indy inherited from them. they’re also optimistic and trusting, sometimes to a fault, and they avoid negative emotions. they aren’t particularly the most confident, either. i’m convinced indy is honestly The most type 9 to ever type 9, everything i read about them on any page is simply indy it’s like i built a muse around this enneagram type.
HOGWARTS HOUSE: HUFFLEPUFF
indy actually got gryffindor when i made him an actual pottermore account, but hufflepuff when i did the “all questions” quizzes for him. i was pretty shocked by the gryffindor result but to some extent it makes sense; indy really admires people that are brave and bold because he is simply not. he’s definitely a hufflepuff though, and that’s what he got on the quiz linked on this event post, too. i think a lot of the type 9 section applies to hufflepuffs as well. kind, caring, hardworking, peaceful, fair; indy is all of these things. he has a hard time saying no to people, and will give everyone a chance-- sometimes too many chances. he’s even a hufflepuff seconday on the quiz linked through the post LMAO
DAEMON: EQUINE
since these quizzes are less familiar to me and probably everyone else too, i’ll quote the results!!

mostly accurate, anyway. indy is definitely free-spirited, another thing he probably learned from his parents. he always follows his heart too...rarely thinks about anything...leaps before he looks just about always. he’s grown out of that a little bit and thinks a little more than he used to, but it takes a lot of effort on his part and kind of tires him out to think a lot about things. the big difference between him and this description is that indy doesn’t really have any dreams. he has so few ambitions and goals, he’s just kind of floating through life and is fine with that. at legacy, his main goal and reason to debut is making people happy. he wasn’t into idols much before getting signed, but knows they can have such a positive impact on people, so that’s probably the closest thing he’s ever had to a proper dream.

MARVEL CHARACTER: SPIDERMAN
indy is definitely the pure-hearted, kinda clueless hero and clumsy, and unintentionally funny hero. friendly but a little awkward, too, young and impressionable, frets a little over trying to be likable and make people happy-- indy is all of these things. he also looks up to people that are better than him a lot, kind of like peter looks/looked up to the avengers. it’s a bit difficult to take him seriously and he gets into trouble a lot, but he always has the best intentions.
DND CLASS: LAWFUL GOOD HUMAN RANGER/DRUID
indy is a rule-follower and hates making people uncomfortable, inconveniencing them, or causing problems, so he will generally just do what is expected to the best of his ability. lawful it is! good is pretty straightforward and probably doesn’t need further explanation, especially after all the rest of these explanations. rangers value nature a lot, and are explorers and adventurers. druids also value nature and animals, and seek a balance between all of the elements, and they also hate the undead, like ghosts and zombies. indy’s mom is a botanist and dad is a conservationist, so they instilled a love of nature and animals in him from a young age, so this makes a lot of sense! he also loves new things and is pretty adventurous, and he’s a bit of a weenie and easily frightened by horror. i wouldn’t go so far as to say he hates it, because he will still watch horror movies, he will just...quietly be scared.
the only issue is...rangers and druids need wisdom to be able to cast spells. indy doesn’t really have that,,, but he does value wisdom a lot and wishes he had it. maybe one day. he will keep trying!

INFJ - THE ADVOCATE

introverted - sure she likes spending time with her friends and possible friends, however natalie isn’t much of a social butterfly to begin with. though she is extremely comfortable around friends, she usually clings to them when at social gatherings or parties. though she is a little shy, she always tries her best to expand her social circle. but at the same time, she wants to do what’s best for her social battery. so while she does try her best with reaching out to strangers in order to befriend them, it means the world to her if other people do that to her first.
intuitive - growing up, natalie always found the delivery of a song to be more important than the amount of times a singer does runs or riffs (though she appreciates them a good amount). the reason why is so that she can be able to understand the meaning of a song more, via the lyrics and how the singer or instrument player performs. it’s why she wishes to be an idol as well as a producer in the future. though she is slowly building up on her skills on writing and producing songs, she wants to be able to have people listen to her music and have their own interpretations for it.
she always did well in literature class because she was able to look deeper into the text given to her. not to mention, she’s a fan of theories as well when it comes to her favorite shows or movies.
feeling - she’s always been more of an emotional person than a logical one. in fact, she has more control on her voice and dance than she does on her emotions! (haha) it’s easy for the girl to get carried away when it comes to making decisions that require a logical answer. she won’t deny that she has a short temper, but she also won’t deny that she is also very sentimental. when having to debate with someone, she will make sure that she remains strong and consistent with her argument solely because it is what she believes is right. however, if someone does a kind action while making sure she knows they did it with her in mind, it’ll be difficult for her to contain the waterworks.

though she is growing her social circle and also taking more risks every single day, natalie does have fears rooted on her thoughts on the future that become a hindrance in her present-day life. her ultimate fear is if all her efforts result to failure in the end. she does not regret becoming a trainee at all, however she does have doubts about whether or not she made the right decision of leaving her mother and brother in new york in the possibility that she were to end up going nowhere. it’s why she works hard so that she can prove herself worthy of being an idol, in hopes to prove to herself and others that the sacrifices that she’s made in her life were worth it for her in the end. but even then, she becomes critical of her actions as a result, fearing that if she even messes up one little thing, everything is ruined for her. (this is also why she avoids having to practice her weaknesses, as she does not want to automatically fail at something she is new at).

natalie was a huge fan of the harry potter series in her childhood. and though she isn’t much of a fan of the series anymore, she will still remain faithful to her gryffindor title to this day. she had been in the same house since she was a child, as a sign of her determination and self-confidence. what she takes pride in the most about her house, besides the fact that it’s the same house as the three main characters of the harry potter franchise, is that their main values are justice and bravery. and though she is a bit skeptical of taking some risks, she is not afraid to speak her mind and will do all it takes to prove her efforts and hard work.

it’s most likely already obvious that natalie is a hard worker. normally, she would not care for what others think of her. but even in a joking aspect, she never wishes to be considered as lazy because it makes her believe that she isn’t doing enough to accomplish her goals and ambitions. it’s no surprise that being in the industry that she’s in, she’s going to face a lot of competition for the chance to debut. but the moment she got off the plain from new york to seoul, natalie had one goal to accomplish and that was to make sure that all her efforts would not be in vain. she was going to work hard until she was able to show herself to the world and even if it takes years of hardships, she’ll always remind herself to get back on her feet.

ugh, the hp sorting house system is way too reductive. he has qualities of gryffindor, slytherin, and hufflepuff - brave, astute, loyal to a fault, etc. so it's a hard choice. but if i really have to choose, i'd go for gryffindor. i know that his Bad Boy facade shouts slytherin, but while he has larger goals (killing all the titans, then saving the world etc.), he's got no actual ambition for himself. hufflepuff would also be a good option.
daemon (from the his dark materials series): (because i've just decided that's just way more accurate than the hp method) some kind of big feline. maybe a panther - a black panther would be the ideal - aloof, predatory, dangerous, fiercely independent.
best quality: besides his obvious strenghts as a leader and warrior, the way he cares for his comrades-in-arms. it's very hard to gain his trust and respect, but once you have it, it's forever. he's pragmatic and ruthless, yes, but he also has a huge capacity for compassion and friendship. not that he would be effusive about his affections, of course.
worst quality: none, he's absolutely perfect ❤ jklsdfhjk jokes aside, he really struggles to open up (a serious understatement), idt he ever talked about his traumatic past with anyone. i mean, maybe he mentioned it to hange and erwin (erwin knew him when he was still an undergound thug, so...), but... he's not great with feelings. despite his apathetic, intimidating mask, he feels and cares deeply, but he has a long history with losing the people he loves, so he tries to not personally care about his squadmates, which can be both a strenght and a weakness. of course, he spectacularly fails at this.
ship them with: well, it's not a secret that i'm a huge rivamika fan, this ship is almost literally consuming my waking thoughts lmao. imo they're perfectly compatible: very similar personalities (stoic, the strongest warriors, absolutely terrifying on the battlefield but with a soft underbelly), very similar pasts/experiences, so many parallels that it's actually ridiculous, etc. i love how they're both each other's equals and likeness (yes, i took it from jane eyre. no, i don't regret anything lmao). a lot of tropes i love, too: Terrible First Impression (the Pride and Prejudice vibes are so strong with these two, you have no idea), Kindred Spirits/Mirror Images, Veteran/Young Prodigy, The Last of Their Kind, even Height Difference lmao. i could write a whole rivamika manifesto, but this is already too long. (maybe for some other time 👀) i would've loved for their dynamic to be more explored in canon but alas, isayama clearly didn't give a shit about the ackerman legacy, he just used it as a plot shortcut to give them conveniently unique powers, since they never really talked about it 🙄 (and before some troll comes into my askbox shouting "you iNcEsT fReAk!!!!1!!", they're only very distantly related. we know shit about the ackermans but we know for sure that they've got at least several generations between them. biologically their shared DNA is 0%, obviously they don't see each other as family, all the eldians have a dead ass common ancestor from 2000 years ago so they're all basically ⁓related anyway. if you really wanna scream about i.ncest, go watch got/dark/the borgias and shut the fuck up please. or alternatively go outside and touch some grass) sorry for the rant, uh. anyway, i can also see levi/erwin. idk if i'd ever care enough to read a fic about them (i'm usually a huge multishipper, but for some weird reason not when it comes to rivamika? same with braime and kastle tbh), but still, i can see it.

misc. thoughts: besides the stupid teenage fangirl crush i have on him, i'm genuinely fascinated by the man himself. he's a huge mess of a contradictions, and yet somehow it works: he's violent and brash and kind of an asshole, but also has a strong moral code and integrity; he's obv very skilled at all the killing/torturing stuff and yet he has a huge respect for life; he's got a potty mouth to say the least, and yet some very aristocratic manners/tastes (the way he sits, his preference for tea and usually refined clothes); he comes from what's supposed to be an illustrous bloodline, he's methodical and very precise, and yet he was born and raised in the underground, he's been used to filth and blood and poverty since he was a child, kenny of all people was his father figure, and probably has known no other life than a perennial survival mode existence. he's "humanity's strongest soldier", but while well-built he's also small, the david to the titans' goliah, and probably not what people would assume a born warrior looks like. he's also one of the few characters who stayed true to himself and his original characterization until the end, bless you smol king ❤

this is actually easy: mikasa belongs to hufflepuff and no, i won't take criticism (just joking lol). enough with this "hufflepuffs are fluffy puppies/Cinnamon Rolls <3" thing: mikasa values loyalty and duty more than anything else. she's also hardworking... and fierce, strong, lethal. yes, hufflepuff and lethal are not mutually exclusive concepts.
daemon: (finally the better option) a she-wolf, fiercely protective of her pack.
best quality: loyal, brave, incredibly strong (alongside her more fragile qualities). practical and level-headed on the battlefield, at least when eren is not included in the picture.
worst quality: struggles to let go of the past (understandable, considering her trauma). tunnel-vision when it comes to eren, obv. extreme levels of delusions ("if only i spoke openly about my romantic feelings for him - as if i didn't made them abundantly clear in ⁓6 years - he wouldn't kill 80% of humanity :(((" lmao okay. just. okay), but that's more on the writing. she's sadly more static than any other main character throughtout the whole series.
ship them with: see above :) but recently i've also started to be intrigued by mikasa/annie and mikasa/sasha. also, i'm sympathetic to jeankasa fans, though i don't actually care for the ship.
brotp them with: EMA trio, especially armin+mikasa. their friendship is so beautiful and special. also sasha.
needs to stay away from: ...... eren, at least romantically. again, that's more on the writing than anything else, but e.remika unfortunately encompasses many tropes i loathe with all the strength of my old shriveled heart: childhood friends-to lovers where the (male) childhood friend doesn't acknolewdge/is completely indifferent to the other (female) friend's romantic feelings, she hopelessly pines for him for years without anything more than a cold shoulder... until in the last chapter it's revealed that he loved her all along and doesn't "want other men to have her!!! :((" (then why did you have no reaction whatsoever to jean's years-long crush on her while she was jealous of any vaguely female-shaped human being you were friendly to, including hange? are you that dumb, man?); the female character's development and entire arc 100% revolves around the male protagonist - she has no goals, no dreams of her own except staying with him forever and ever; the romance is based on an idealized childhood dream, therefore reaffirming those childish illusions would make the character regress, not actually grow up (and nope, epilogue!jk doesn’t count; that also lacks build-up - i would’ve said the same about rm as well, so it’s not about shipping, guys, it really isn’t - and mikasa needed an inner change; getting married to another man but still praying to eren’s shrine is not substitute to actual development lol). post-time skip she's never really frustrated/angry with him, they never get a confrontation about him becoming a, y'know, mass-murderer of gigantic (pun intended) proportions; she puts him on a pedestal, and never stops idealizing him/never sees him for what he actually is (the narrative framing him as some kind of tragic martyr/saint eren from paradis with zero agency and basically... no clear motivation for the abovementioned mass murder, and not the actual complex tragic anti-hero/villain motivated by revenge and righteous fury he deserved to be, does not help). it lacks a good or even decent build-up - it's basically all tell and not show. now, if they'd actually been childhood friends to enemies to lovers/mutually co-dependent... it could have been interesting. sadly, it's not my cup of tea. of course this is just my personal preference, no hard feelings to the shippers.
misc. thoughts: enormous potential. she's been my fav female character since s1 - and ah, i miss s1!mikasa, when she had actually other stuff to do besides mothering eren. i love that she's the strongest warrior (second only to levi, obv), that her skills are never called into questions despite her gender, i love how she stands up for herself and the people she loves, that she may seem cold and stoic and yet has a such a huge heart, that she's not perfect but also sometimes awe-inspiring. sadly, she never really gets out of eren's shadow; what she lacks is an arc focused on herself. that's why imo getting deeper into the ackerman lore would've helped (also, you cannot make the main female character and the most popular male character descend from the same Unique Bloodline or whatever, and never really make them acknowledge it out loud; as a writer, you just can't lol). my spite is so strong that i'm currently writing a ridiculously pretentious fic that's 70% development for her character, to give her a voice, and 30% ackerthirsting. (yes, that's the fic i'm always vagueblogging about lmao, rip @ my brain). if any other rivamika fan is interested… mind you, it’s in italian tho, and idt i have the skills to translate into english.

as quiet and reserved as sehoon is, he’s not surprised much by his results. he prefers keep to himself most of the time, and he’s aware that he leans more on the sensitive side, even if he acts as if he’s not. defenders are known to have excellent analytical skills and that’s something that sehoon knows, as he uses it in his everyday life. though reserved, he does watch what happens around him which is where he can become analytical and use those skills as it helps him get an understanding of people and how/why they act certain ways. due to his reserved nature, he’s not the most open person but despite this, defenders are known to have strong people skills and robust social relationships, and while sehoon doesn’t find himself to be as talkative or open as most - with those he’s comfortable and close with, he definitely shows signs of strong people skills and strong social relationships. defenders are also known to be open to change and new ideas, and in some sense sehoon is, though it takes him a little while to come around to is as change is somewhat unsettling.
they’re often meticulous to the point of perfectionism, and despite sometimes procrastinating, they always get the job done and these traits are present in sehoon’s character as he’s someone who doesn’t like to slack off though he can find himself procrastinating at times, but always gets the task at hand done on time. he takes his responsibilities seriously, and while he doesn’t think or realise, he often tries to exceed the expectations set (even despite him not enjoying trainee missions) because not trying makes him feel incompetent.
for defenders, their selflessness and niceness is sometimes taken advantage of and back when sehoon was younger, he was definitely a victim of that. now he’s older, he knows the signs of that and avoids it as best as he can, though he can’t rule out that it could possibly still happen. now he definitely knows when to speak up about something and look out for himself. despite his introverted nature, he can connect with people and form strong bonds if he wanted to be social and try, except he just chooses not to.
strengths: supportive, reliable and patient, imaginative and observant, enthusiastic, loyal and hard working, good practical skills
supportive is one thing sehoon takes pride in, as with those close to him know he’s naturally got a supportive nature and uses it whenever needed. say someone was feeling down about their work or needed a boost, as awkward as he’d feel (because he’s not so use to doing it much as most people tend to steer away from him) he would say they’re doing well, or tell them that their hard work isn’t going unnoticed. sehoon is a patient person and reliable, he’s always there if anyone needs and is the type to drop whatever he’s doing to make sure they’re okay, would offer them advice if needed or just be a shoulder for them to cry or lean on. he’s not the type to turn around and leave someone if needed because if the roles were reversed, he knows how painful it would feel to be visibly asking for help yet nobody would care to help. with his analytical skills, sehoon is quite observant which helps him understand people’s states (whether it be physical or emotional), as he’s someone who is quite complex and has dealt with a lot all on his own, he knows the signs and such which helps him imagine himself in their shoes. he’s certainly enthusiastic as much as he doesn’t sometimes show it, if it’s something that he’s really interested by then he would put more time in than he has to as it’s something he’s passionate about. sehoon’s loyalty sometimes comes to a fault, because he’s extremely loyal to his friends (much so for life) that he sometimes ends up putting them first before himself which can at times affect him. his friendships and relationships with people is something that he values a lot as he’s not someone who opens up easily, and in order to do that he has to feel connected and comfortable with them and loyalty is something that he expects back.
weaknesses: humble and shy, take things too personally, repress their feelings, overload themselves, reluctant to change, too altruistic
with sehoon’s reserved nature, he definitely holds some shyness to him when it comes to talking or meeting new people and with his humbleness, he doesn’t like to talk about himself or the things he’s doing (example, things he does well at) because it makes him feel like people eye him and such so he prefers to stay in the dark and downplay his successes. from a young age, sehoon has struggled with dividing negativity from his life. when his parents were arguing, he struggled to leave his home problems at home and that soon became too overwhelming for him to handle that it became something that he was unable to ignore and began to affect him academically, personally and mentally. so because of things like this, to this day he still has trouble not taking things too personally but it’s something that he wants to improve on because he doesn’t want it to affect his relationships with people. since he’s a private and sensitive person, sehoon really avoids putting his personal problems on people because he feels like a burden and he doesn’t want to do that to people. so he tends to tackle everything all by himself heads on, and it definitely drains him and gets him down more often than he likes to admit. often sometimes finds himself struggling, it becomes overwhelming and he struggles to balance things. now while sehoon doesn’t like the idea of change, he’s not completely opposed to it, it just takes some talking and persuasion for him to change his mind.

the investigator is a slight surprise, as sehoon isn’t one to actively seek out and investigate things so it’s definitely surprising. he uses his analytical skills to his advantage, so he’s able to sense feelings and emotions and such as well. it’s said type five’s are more comfortable with data than people, and in a way this is the same case for sehoon. being able to observe other peoples actions helps him gain an understanding of them, so he’s more comfortable with observing to understand people rather than outwardly asking etc.

much like the defender, gryffindors tend to do what they think is right and follow their gut, and that’s something that sehoon does. as difficult as a decision is, he makes a decision based on what he thinks is right. he tries not to let his judgement get clouded so he’s able to make the most accurate decision, though in the case of a burned gryffindor, they carry doubts, uncertainties and insecurities which can affect how they make choices.
as a burned ravenclaw secondary, they may feel dishonest or like they’re not living up to their own standards or potential, and gathering knowledge, skills, tools etc is the way to achieve their goals though they know it won’t work with their burned side.

Despite his very best resistance he’s always been pretty empathetic in nature, he tries to rule his emotions as well as he can but fails more often than not. He was always one of those toddlers that if another kid started crying he’d be right along with them, not because he wanted attention but because he just couldn’t not. A bit of a crybaby, honestly, has researched how to magically seal up his tear ducts. Obviously managed to keep the family’s flair for the dramatic there as well.
Just managed to scrape through his schooling with nearly all top grades, this isn’t due to him being an excellent student. He has always accrued information with a voracious appetite. Any knowledge he could find, even if most people would consider it entirely useless. His mind clicks into that place? You can’t keep him away. However, when there is not an immediate stir of interest on his approach to a topic he has to fight with himself tooth and nail to carry on. Predictably found exam season highly stressful, was never open about it but was quietly competitive and silently smug over his good grades. Could comprehend well above his reading level from an early age and would often look into experimental research and complicated magic but found himself lost in OWL level History of Magic when chapter upon chapter lay ahead of him about something that didn’t catch his interest.
Tends toward introversion and finds himself tired sometimes quite easily by a large amount of social interaction. Witty and big-mouthed when he feels comfortable or is in the presence of those that embolden him and very likely to get flustered and snap at people when things are becoming a bit too much. Especially if he feels however unjustly that someone is blocking his escape. Has matured slightly in this since leaving school but it happens still, he’s just anxious. Quite fickle and can at the drop of a hat decide that he’s done with you for the day once his Give Me Attention Meter is maxed. Could be an absolute bloody brat when he felt like it but feels he has grown out of it, which he mostly has.
Always been very, very aware of many people’s distrust of him and his family, he used to sneer and play it up if anyone tried to bring up his dad and go on the offensive but was genuinely affected quite deeply by it all. In his early school years, despite his weakness to the cold, he constantly had his sleeves rolled up to the elbow so that his blank forearm was bared as a statement to just about everyone. I am not marked, I never will be. Now he’s older he has more of a handle on things and can be diplomatic in situations where people are clearly discomforted by his presence and his family history.
Scorpius was in his seventh and final year when the Knights were first created and he spent a lot of his time patching people up and teaching simple healing here and there, wherever he could. It was a natural transition to become part of The Order once he graduated, he still kept in contact with members of the Knights but while he had no way to access the grounds at all it seemed ridiculous that he be privy to everything, especially as sharing such information could have been intercepted by the opposing side. He was absolutely horrified by Harry’s resurrection and his stomach rolls every time he even thinks about it.
Never produced much of a talent for offensive magic and wouldn’t resort to those methods unless he had literally no other choice, not a front line fighter by any means. His talents with strategy, healing and his perseverance with defensive magic meant that he was an ideal candidate, in his head, to have the singular daemon amongst the Order and to test all of their hard work. Then the prophecy was slowly unravelled, silver spool of damning words in a pile at his feet.
Is in a strange place in that he can’t simply stop loving people he’s always loved whilst working simultaneously to strangle any potential for more people to be added to the list as frantically as he can. Tends to just try and put the prophecy out of his mind otherwise he stares at Cleo for too long and his hands start to shake.
Very nearly lost his apprenticeship due to his intensity over developing and refining the magic of the patronus charm. It was an all-consuming obsession, he went so far into the zone that he was a bit of a liability for a while there. He would turn up at any hour to other Order members for their opinions on an obscure theory, an element of the magic, the importance of ritual and their thoughts on his experiments with dementors. Alot of people were like you’re a bit young to be doing this aren’t you love? And he was like I’m not going to tell you to fuck off, just explain that I will not let this go and if you exclude me I will continue working on it alone.
[ DEATH TW ] Although this can be said for anyone possessing a daemon, he is protective of Cleo to the point of neurosis, the magic was experimental at the time of her manifestation and he felt every single layer of his soul flayed away and the creation of atoms from a matter that he still doesn’t quite understand. Only that it came from him. They have managed to limit the bitter, burnt iron taste that lingered at the back of his sinuses for two weeks, the numbness of his fingers and toes and the burst blood vessels in his eyes on other subjects. Oh and the part where he stopped breathing for nearly an entire minute. By the time he performed it successfully he wasn’t sure he wanted anyone else to ever experience it, the spell basically consumed his life for several years and when the research was finally over he was stood there blinking owlishly with no real concept of where the last couple of years had gone.
Always had somewhat fragile health tending toward sickly. Hands are never warm. Bruises like a peach and scars so easily.
