It is often the case that I visit a place and wish i had taken more rolls of film and/or another camera. I had such I feeling when i recently visited Hawarden. All I managed was these two shots. There was so much more that i could have captured. I will be marking this in my notebook as a place to revisit.

A bed should be a tender slab, devoid of insects.

A tired woman should be able to lie across diagonally, headache to hag feet.

A bed should exist in crystalline silence.

It should have a sleepy blue view. A nearby window not close to voyeurs.

A bed should have a special pillow to shush the head, to coddle and safety the amygdala.

If established on the ground, a bed should have a bioluminescent quilt to redirect the gaze: the prey is over there.

If established in a tree, the quilt may allow for free feet or a tossback with luxuriant abandon.

Among other things, do not build your bed on dictionaries or books of any kind.

A bed is best made from a wood frame, or metal, or dark matter.

A bed should be free of lye, lime, and liars.

One should be able to enter the bed and think I could fly far away in this. I could die; I could just die.

Since beginning this blog I have kept meaning to shoot a roll of film in a Holga with the "6 x4.5inches" mask that enables sixteen rectangular shots, rather than shooting without a mask which results in twelve square shots.

A visit to Harden with friends to see Gladstone's Library resulted in an opportunity to shoot the nearby St Deiniol's Church. The parish is said to have existed for over a thousand years and a list of rectors dates back to 1180!

I am glad I chose a good black and white emulsion for this as it seemed appropriate for such a beautiful and old church. I did make a mental note to return with a more suitable camera and film to shoot the interior.

Lancaster PA474 at RAF Coningsby, England

The Avro Lancaster is the most famous and successful RAF heavy bomber of World War Two.

There are only two airworthy Lancasters left in the world - 7,377 were built.

Lancaster PA474 was built at the Vickers Armstrong Broughton factory at Hawarden Airfield, Chester, on 31 May 1945, just after VE day. The war in the Far East ended before she was deployed and she did not take part in any hostilities.
