Hiya beatlemaniacs, long time no see! Just like many of you, I too have been obsessively been re-watching Get Back to an unhealthy degree, and my hyper fixations (or coping mechanisms lol) usually manifest themselves as quick doodles! and I’ve also been obsessed with @m1ssunderstanding ‘s Get Back recap posts (they’re so in-depth and iconique check them out) , and I was wondering if y’all would be interested in seeing daily (or weekly lol) new doodles recapping each days of the documentary? 👀 I have a few already finished but it would be a fun lengthy project for me and I’m excited to potentially experiment with different styles and see how things evolve?

Onstage at the Odd Spot in Liverpool on March 29, 1962; photos by Alan Swerdlow.
“It was an option to include George in the songwriting team. John and I had really talked about it. I remember walking up past Woolton Church with John one morning and going over the question. ‘Without wanting to be too mean to George, should three of us write or would it be better to keep it simple?’ We decided we’d just keep to two of us.” - Paul McCartney, The Beatles Anthology (x)

You know, I think I'm starting to realize that George is perhaps the ideal protagonist for a Beatles biopic of some kind, because it offers more of a fair intimate exploration of all four of the guys and their relationships with one another than if it's just the Lennon-McCartney drama again and again. Plus his own identity-building journey just has a lot of compelling potential by itself!

🕊️ Remembering George Harrison, Who Passed Away 21 Years Ago Today 🕊️
It's horrible to lose your dad. But day by day I miss him more as a mate. He was my best friend in the whole world. -Dhani Harrison
In 2001, I went to see George in Switzerland in his last weeks. He was very ill and weak from lung and brain cancer. My daughter, Lee, was also ill with a brain tumor. I said, ‘George, I love you, but Lee's going into hospital in Boston, and I've got to go there.’ He said, ‘Do you want me to come with you?’ He couldn't move, but, in his being, he was willing. He was that good a friend. -Ringo Starr
I sat with him for a few hours when he was in treatment just outside New York. He was about 10 days away from his death, as I recall. We joked about things – just amusing, nutty stuff. It was good. It was like we were dreaming. He was my little baby brother, almost, because I’d known him that long. We held hands. It’s funny, even at the height of our friendship – as guys – you would never hold hands. It just wasn’t a Liverpool thing. But it was lovely. -Paul McCartney
I remember, when George died, wanting the clock to stop right then and there, because I thought, ‘One day I'm going to look back, and it'll be five years.’ And now it's 20 years. -Olivia Harrison

Star Wars (1977, George Lucas)
14/03/2024
Star Wars, later renamed Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, is a 1977 film written and directed by George Lucas and produced by Lucasfilm, the first of the successful Star Wars science fiction space opera film saga. It is also the first chapter of the original trilogy, which was followed first by the prequel trilogy and then by the sequel trilogy. The film stars Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Peter Cushing, Alec Guinness, David Prowse, James Earl Jones, Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker and Peter Mayhew.
The story, set nineteen years after the foundation of the Galactic Empire, narrates the adventures of the Jedi Luke Skywalker and his master Obi-Wan Kenobi, engaged in the fight against the Dark Side of the Force alongside the Rebel Alliance, led by Princess Leia, in order to put an end to the Emperor's power over the Galaxy. Filming began on March 22, 1976 and ended on July 16, 1976; the main sequences took place at Elstree Studios in London, while the exteriors were shot in the United States, Guatemala and Tunisia.

someone’s probably said this by now, but the will/mike/el parallel to the han/leia/luke dynamic becomes a lot more interesting when the duffers say they wanted season four to feel like the empire strikes back
now it’s not only about them losing in the end and feeling hopeless, but also the relationship dynamics of the main three. leia kisses luke in the beginning to prove she doesn’t have feelings for han — mike doubles down in his “i love you” speech to prove he cares about el and only el. but the three become separated, and luke (el) has to train on his own, while leia and han (mike and will) grow closer.
the movie ends with vader revealing the truth to luke, and han frozen in carbonite — vecna blames el for making him this way, and will’s connection to the upside down has returned. and we can’t forget the iconic “i love you” “i know” scene, cementing leia and han’s relationship and setting up their reunion in the next film. so what does that imply for mike and will going forward?
