Saw a post talking about this and didn't want to derail it, but like, honestly, at this point, I'm becoming less and less tolerant of people acting like straight/cis passing privilege is a real, very serious thing that needs to be taken into consideration every time someone speaks on queer issues bcs I swear to god the only time I ever see it actually brought up is when someone is trying to deny someone else a seat at the table. Like first it was used against bi+ people to explain why we're not queer unless we're in a same gender relationship, and then it was used to shit all over ace and aro people for not being "visibly queer", then they turned on nonbinary people who "look cis", and now I see people throwing it at trans men for some reason like???? This is legit becoming an exclusionist dogwhistle to me. Any merit to this concept is completely obliterated by assholes who are so addicted to playing oppression olympics they're meticulously crafting pokemon type advantage charts to categorize all the gays based on who actually has "real" problems and who doesn't, it's agonizing.

Like putting "straight/cis passing privilege" up on the shelf next to "comphet" until people can learn how to use it in a way that doesn't invalidate someone else's queerness.

- “Must you be so nosey? Hah! Relax. It’s not a shrink ray or anything!” He joked. You didn’t know if you should be offended by that or that or not. “Of course, mind you, I do know how to make that. But I don’t have the time nor resources sadly. Then again, everybody must be shrunken to you.” Medic then proceeds to suppress his mild attraction to you; instead opting to tear you to shreds with his sick roasts about your height. Wow, somebody’s insecure.

the story of mandate (conclusion)

Part I is here. Here is the completely signed magazine.

I went to a Paul event thanks to my dear friend @elrohare and I was a woman on a mission. This was my holy grail, my twelve labors of Hercules, my ultimate sacrifice of good sense, my Mandate, if you will. Paul is a man of constant sorrow who's seen trouble all his days. Paul had not known trouble until he saw my face again a mere two months after his last time.

Unlike Gene, who will randomly set a date to hand out his crap for hilarious prices, Ace, who will appear at any 500-1000 seater across the country and balefully advertise his meet and greets onstage, and Peter, who will roll out of bed every six months for a horror convention, Paul does his events at Wentworth galleries across the country. Paul is basically like Pokemon Red's Porygon. You can get him, but he'll take everything you have.

I was prepared. I had done the legwork and the paperwork. Part of my purchase included an autographed item. (Please note that this is not nearly the entirety of the, uh, Paul Stanley Experience, if you will-- this is only the Mandate aspect of it. There was more!)

Paul remembered both of us. "It's been awhile."

"Yeah, couple months, since February, yeah." I'm actually sort of not shocked he remembered us since neither of us look like typical KISS fans. There is also a very large height difference between us, so we are distinctive. We talk. I manage some conversation, some of which is sort of funny. But I'm not here to provide Paul with wit and candor. I'm here for Mandate, which he has already by that point seen the back of even with me trying to cover the naked men in the tub with my phone. He has already also seen the front of it, with its doodled-on-by-Gene cover. He has seen it open, because I had to set it down in order for us to take our picture together. He has probably spent the whole rest of our conversation leading up to this determining what to say to the lone weirdo that has not given him RARO, his solo album, his other solo album, the KISS comic book (mint condition), or various and sundry other KISS collectibles.

He has hit on it. He gestures to the president of Wentworth who is, incidentally, the one that's borrowing my phone to take our pictures. He comes closer as Paul shows him the magazine, along with me.

"Gene drew on it [the front cover of my copy]," I say.

"Mandate... this is the very first magazine we were ever in." (Peter said the same thing in his first book. They are both technically incorrect, but far be it from me to correct Paul Stanley on things that happened before I was born-- and to be honest, knowing what I know about how slow it could end up being to go from writing a feature for a monthly magazine to it actually being published, it wouldn't surprise me at all if they'd done the magazine some months prior to it being on the shelves).

"Our manager at the time said he could get us into a magazine. We didn't know it was a gay magazine. I mean, whatever you're into, but... ["I wasn't," basically, though I don't know if he said those two words specifically]....." as he flips, completely needlessly, through the pictures, sort of slowly, until he gets to page eight and page nine, where all three of his bandmates have signed in black Sharpie. "Of course, they blew me [the photo] up. ... And Gene drew on it."

I finally manage to pipe up.

"Yeah, Gene texted you about it, purportedly, anyway...."

"Yeah, he did."

"He did? Really?"

He looked like he was weirdly thoughtful. Well, sounded like he was. Maybe even a little bit amused. I had a hard time looking too hard at him while this was going on, and I found myself looking more at the naked men he was flipping through. But I had my plan and I would not be too distracted. I had brought my own black Sharpie, since I knew he had a penchant for signing in silver (this is because his Wentworth artwork always comes with an inscription on black paper that he writes on in silver). The Sharpie was right there and, possibly because he was keenly aware of my level of distress at the thought of Mandate being signed in a different color, he obediently took it and signed it and shut it, and handed it back to me. My smile could've broken through my dimples.

Triumph complete. Thank you, @elrohare for again allowing me the pleasure of coming with, and I was glad to plus-one and for once, return the favor.

Thank you, Mr. Paul Stanley of KISS. And thank you to Peter, Gene (especially Gene!), and Ace. I hope Mandate gave you all an unexpected blast from the past, and I really wish I'd told Paul that Peter quite appreciated the ass on the guy on the front cover. Maybe next time.

Round 1 Match 17: They Should Have Been At The Club Tournament

Propaganda for Delia Ketchum:

Okay, timeline wise, she must have had Ash when she was pretty young. Still an adult, but going off of her son being eternally 10, she must have been 19 based off what the Pokemon wiki says. Her husband went off to go be a trainer sometime, so she was also a single mom. I think she absolutely deserves to have been at the club just for that, since she didn't really get to experience adulthood for more than a year before she had a child to raise. Also based on more scattered lore for her she also had some big dreams of her own that she put aside both to run a restaurant she inherited and to raise her son. She should have been pursuing those dreams AND at the club.

Propaganda for Lewis Smith:

(Spoilers for Bang Brave Bang Bravern)

One: He's just been through so much. He's so young (tumblr would tell you that 24 is old but that's a lie). He needs a break, he can't keep going through all this without some time off to have fun. He deserves to relax and flirt. I'm removing him from the battlefield and putting him in a club where he can drink Kona beer and dance badly and flirt with other men before realizing that the only man he wants to flirt with is the one he's been pining for since the beginning of the show. That's it, that's what the explosion did, it just brought him to a normal club without homicidal giant robots. He's fine.

Two: Big spoilers ahead! Also this is still an ongoing story!

First of all he's 24, prime club age. Second of all he just cannot get a break: during a normal military exercise he was part of, the Earth was attacked by aliens and a big part of his unit just died. Then the super robot that showed up to save the rest of them rejected him (Lewis is a big fan of super robot shows and tried to pilot the robot instead of the guy who was having a panic attack trying *not* to pilot the robot again). Then he gets his ass kicked by a comatose girl. Then he gets rejected by another super robot (he tried to play the role of the rival since he couldn't be the protagonist) and almost dies in the process. Then he realizes that the only way to save his friends from an evil super robot is to blow it up, and blows *himself* up at the same time. He might not be really dead, we don't know, there's some time travel bs going on. We're all still very sad. Also he apparently had a rough childhood (strongly hinted at by staff, should be shown in the series in a few episodes at most). Third of all he's very gay, I've rarely seen a character yearn so much for another man. We all think he'll end up being the love interest.

6. What do they playfully tease each other about?

Oh my goodness so many things. I feel like after a certain point they get really comfortable teasing each other over the things they fought each other about. Archie giving Maxie a hard time for that one time he almost caused the apocalypse. Maxie giving Archie shit for being a little copycat thief. Other classic Aqua/Magma jokes, "you're scared of water" type stuff.

Some of Archie's to Maxie include:

*does something gay together* "We're having a really straight time right now." / "Archie I think you're straight." / "Aren't you glad you're straight Archie or else this would be really weird" / any variation of that -> in reference to a long running joke over something that happens between Colress, Archie, and Maxie in my prequel fic, Icarus.

18. What do their families think of their relationship?

Maxie's mom adores them. I can't wait for her appearance in Mother Earth and also probably in that little short stories compilation that's coming. I have a whole scene written where Archie meets Maxie's mom and I fucking adore it. I'm all about Marjorie "Midge" Matsubusa over here. Going insane. She thought it was a riot watching these two men tear each other apart and then completely pivot into holding hands into a coffee shop. She followed ALL the major newspapers and tabloids about it.

Archie's family was confused at first but accepted Maxie after it seemed clear that things were legit. Archie has a lot of older brothers who didn't see him a lot after they started working (and Archie started Team Aqua) so it was all quite sudden and kind of weird, but Archie's mom's side of the family (in pacifidlog) of course saw the hints of it happening before The Apocalypse, so. They were pretty happy about the whole ordeal. Maxie felt a little bit like an outsider at first but warmed up to them quickly.

It doesn't make sense to say that transmascs are not (also) the oppressors of transfems when at the same time you admit that cis gays and cis lesbians are (also) the oppressors of trans people despite the fact that they are also a minority and a marginalized group. Either we are coherent and we say that transmascs are also the oppressors of transfems or we say that cis gays and cis lesbians are not the oppressors of trans people.

This is the cissest take I have ever seen.

Look, first of all: individual people are not oppressors. Individual people do not have the power to enact oppression without systems upheld by lots of other people backing them up. We're talking about classes of people, and we're talking about which classes of people hold the power, and which classes of people are stripped of power.

You need to stop thinking about this like pokemon damage types; it's not a math equation where you add up all the privileges and subtract all the marginalizations and end up with a number that tells you how much power you have. There are cis people who are perceived as trans, there are straight people who have more in common with queer people than other straight people, cis men who have more in common with trans men, etc.

This is more nuanced than what you're laying out, and that's absolutely a result of cissexist thinking. These things do not exist in perfectly distinct categories that you can name and classify to get a consistent result. "Man" and "woman" are more complex than society would have you believe, and so are the systems and experiences and power around them.

Cis people as a class are the ones who gain power from the oppression of trans people. You're right to say that cis queer people are sometimes perceived as trans, and sometimes relate to transness; they deserve space in the conversations relevant to their individual experiences.

But to say that no cis queer person benefits from transphobia, or that all cis queer people relate to trans experiences, is, to put it bluntly, fucking inane. It's out of touch beyond belief. I need only to point to the "drop the T" movement and to TERFism to demonstrate the ways in which cis queer people have historically enacted systemic violence upon trans people.

This cissexist way of thinking is also leading you to believe that "trans" and "man"/"woman" are seperate, distinct experiences and categories; trans men are oppressed for Trans but privileged for Man, because these things exist together only by coincidence, right?

Except they don't.

There is no "man" without "trans", and there is no "trans" without "man". These things are interdependant and inextricable.

Trans men are not seen as men by the rest of society, nor are we really seen as women (though cis people often try to erase our identities by presenting us as women; am act of misgendering, erasure, denial, and transphobic violence). Trans women are not seen as women by the rest of society, nor are they really seen as men (though cis people use their perceived connection to manhood to justify violence against them).

We exist in a third space. We are gatekept from cis gender binaries. We are Failed or Monsters, and our experiences cannot be placed within cis gender binaries; attempts to do so well invariably leave out huge chunks of our stories, erase crucial parts of our identities, and deny the systems of oppression that hurt us.

While our genders as we experience them might fit into "man" or "woman", we are not given access to them on a structural level. To deny that is to deny the existence of transphobia.

Part 1 - Bronze Saints Protagonists

Pegasus Seiya

Bisexual — with a preference for men

Gender Fluid (She/He/They) — wears a mask that flows towards the feminine

He has ADD, and, of the group, he is the one least impacted by PTSD

Currently, he gets along well with Shaina — She was the one who gave him the mask

Play Pokemon with Shun — He loves video games

He used to have a crush on Saori, but today they are just friends — Saori sees him as her best friend (she is lesbian)

He's dating Ikki — no one knows because no one questioned them

He helps Hyoga with Japanese — He speaks very quickly and informally, so Hyoga barely understands

He and Shiryu spend a lot of time together, because they have many tastes in common — they both love Japanese pop music, soccer and the same cartoons and comics

He once had red hair, because he saw a photo of a young Aiolia who dyed his hair that color — he only has short hair because of Aiolia

He has some strands of his hair dyed purple — inspired by Saori and to match Ikki

He still doesn't speak Greek very well — Marin and Touma continue to help him

He lived in an apartment with Marin, Touma and Seika until he became a Sagittarius Saint

Andromeda Shun

Bisexual — with a preference for women

Cis Man (He/His)

He became deaf after the battle of Poseidon — He wears hearing aids and knows sign language

PTSD — has episodes of depersonalization after being possessed by Hades (he prefers not to remember this)

He doesn't like Sorrento (I think you can guess the reason) — Seriously, they can't leave these two in the same room without Shun trying to kill him

Saori taught him how to paint and draw, but he does better with photography — so Saori gave him a quality camera for his birthday

He doesn't leave the house much — but he'll go anywhere with Seiya if he asks

Once, without telling anyone, he went to Siberia just to visit Hyoga — it was a shock for him and Shun's roommates who thought he was kidnapped

He and Shiryu learn j-pop and Kate Bush choreography (Seiya and Shunrei recorded everything)

He dyed Ikki's black hair blue after the battle of Hades — Shun also does Ikki's makeup lol

He lived with June and Ikki (when Ikki is around) in an apartment until he became the Virgo Saint — yes, June was living alone when Ikki went to the Leo Temple (poor girl)

He and June play board games

He has brown hair, but he spent almost every battle with it dyed green — and he dyed his hair dark red when he returned from Hell

He previously dated Scylla Io, but they broke up before the battle of Poseidon

Cygnus Hyoga

Asexual gay — Homoromantic

Trans man (he/him)

He's had PTSD since his mother's death — it got worse after the battles, but the other Bronzes and Saori are helping him

He and Saori paint their nails together — they also tell each other Sanctuary gossip

He doesn't speak Japanese well — he has a strong accent

Hyoga doesn't admit it but he likes hanging out with Seiya — they both go to arcades a lot

Shun constantly goes to Siberia or the Aquarius Temple just to talk to Hyoga — he likes it, but he refuses to admit it

He has had several jobs (he was fired from them all) — including: hairdresser, bartender, night dancer (funny story), secretary and pharmacist

He once tried to shave Shiryu's hair when he was working as a hairdresser

He played cupid for Seiya and Ikki — seriously, he was the one who organized their first date

He has a photograph of Camus and Isaak on the wall of the Aquarius Temple — he's not completely over it, but he's gotten used to the pain

Dragon Shiryu

Pansexual — no preferences

Cis Man (he/they)

He's still blind, but it doesn't even affect him anymore

He is self-functioning autistic and has PTSD — He has hyperfocus on superhero comics

He sews A LOT — It helps him control some crises

Shunrei (and sometimes Seiya) braids his hair — Shiryu looks beautiful

He is of Chinese descent and his mother language is Mandarin — Unlike some people, he speaks Japanese and Greek very well

He helped Hyoga get several of his many jobs — Hyoga only became a pharmacist with Shiryu's help

Seiya, Shun and him went to a Kate Bush concert

He's Saori's right-hand man — He can use Excalibur because of this (it's just one of the reasons)

He gives great advice — especially to Ikki

He and Shunrei are almost married — they lived together (until he went to the Libra Temple) and have two children

He has some very strange dreams about Shura — and it's just about Shura, not Dohko or Deathmask, just Shura

Genbu calls him "Rapunzel" — in the original story Rapunzel's prince becomes blind lol

Phoenix Ikki

Bisexual — with a preference in men

Demi boy (he/she/they)

has hallucinations because of PTSD — sometimes has violent reactions

He paints a lot — Saori taught him

He dates Seiya — and doesn't understand why no one notices, why the two never let go of each other and he stays more at the Sagittarius Temple than at Leo's

He wears makeup and a skirt when no one is looking — only Shun and Seiya know and they even do his makeup

He asks Shiryu for a lot of advice — Ikki is very insecure when making decisions

He likes birds — he draws birds and gives the drawings to Seiya

He gets along very well with Kanon, the two have many tastes in common — they like the same films, series and video games

He listens to Shakira — loves Estoy Aquí

He still doesn't know that it was Hyoga who organized his dates with Seiya

Road tripping, aka torture

Ceaser had been in many traumatizing situations in his life.

His teenage years after his father left

Seeing his father die before his eyes

The pillar men fight-

However, none had truly shattered his soul as what the poor man was currently experiencing.

Where just after getting in the car was a composed, actually excited for the trip blonde, now stood-

no, layed-

the ruins of this far ago positive man, who felt like all the energy of his soul had been cuelly snatched from him, now just a lifeless body without meaning.

First there was no orange juice in that gas station store where they'd stopped to recharge, which, slightly, crushed deeply in the darkest depths of his soul in a way he'd probably never be able to recover, but that was fine.

He'd just resigned and pretended all was well despite the internal urge to turn emo and put #deadinside in all his instagram posts.

(After all it wouldn't fit with all his shirtless pics-

if he got some edgy tattoos to look the part then perhaps-)

Suddently he got kicked out his thoughts by a random bump, cruelly yanked away from his possible emo era becoming thoughts that muffled the noise arround him and put him back in the cruel place that reality currently was for him.

Motherfucking Joseph.

Ceaser hated him so much right now

The shattered remains of this man were currently being forced to listen to Joseph's screaming or as he probably would call it singing- he couldn't stand it at this point anymore.

However- alas, this man had no real choice-

He regretted so much not responding to that message asking for a dick pic that day.

Maybe then he'd have had a moment that would not have left him so pent up to the point of thinking joseph's waist looked grababble-

Or his toned pecs that were practically anime girl boobs at this point

But- that was probably the reason he said yes to Joseph that day when he asked if he was up for a road trip.

His thoughts, now more gay than emo, like a 2020 tiktoker slowly chirning into their next human pokemon evolution stage, were again cut off by a sudden scream as apparently Joseph's favourite song came on the radio.

"I THREW A WISH IN THE WELL, DON'T ASK ME I'LL NEVER TELL-"

The only wish he wanted was for Joseph to shut the fuck up, and he'd tell him. If he had the energy.

Ceaser snickered to himself with the little energy he had at his own mental quip, his sanity slowly drooping.

How Lisa Lisa was able to stand the screaming Beyonce wannabe himbo of her son, Ceaser would never know.

Looking at her, he tried to concentrate despite the noise, trying to see for any eye twitches or signs of trying to not show pain in this torture, he made a futile attempt to understand how this woman wasn't losing her mind.

Then he noticed the earplugs.

How dare she.

Ceaser could not believe his, once creative and properly working before this, brain, hadn't thought of that, thoroughly dissapointed in himself, or what remained of him.

His only remaining braincell, bruised yet proud, like that bitch Napoleon noone likes, like those french soldiers twerking after french blood was put in the spanish royals, sadly for all us spaniards, leaving us with slumped shoulders and a burnt and stomped-on french flag in the corner, which deep down we only did for the memes despite for a handful of old guys who were genuinely resentful, slowly remembered that A Creature apart from the dude banned from two countries and his mom was in the car with them, turning his head with the little energy in his destroyed flesh and soul to look at Suzi Q for any signs of fellow mental death.

Suzi Q was sleeping.

Suzi Q was fucking sleeping.

In this hellhole of a car.

With Joseph screaming Call Me Maybe at the top of his lungs.

Ceaser found himself severely concerned by how the fuck this woman was humanly capable of actually sleeping, worrying for how the fucking HELL she learned to sleep through such hellish sounds as if it were gentle relaxing rain or those satisfying sleep asmrs that only made you more stressed and want to tear someone limb by limb or punch into the wall like toxic "men should act like men" men in their 40's when their 19 year old wife made their dinner slightly cold because they were doing their best trying to balance take care of this shithole they called a home with taking care of their 4 kids because their bitch husband didn't want to use condoms because "he couldn't feel it".

Ceaser wanted to cry at this point.

But he didn't have the energy to either, when suddently noticing the screaming had stopped, Joseph looking at him, surprising the poor victim of the torture he called singing looking at him, surprising Ceaser with the slight display of worry.

"You look terrible, you ok Ceaserino?"

The screaming.

The orange juice.

His own pride and will to live.

His emo pokemon era.

It all churned inside him as he suddently felt The Zepelli Spirit bringing his energy back at the sudden lack of background screaming, like a small fed up child wanting to ask a question in Biology when his classmates finnally stopped becoming human airhorns after seeing a picture of a penis or a boob.

Ceaser looked at him dead in the eye, slowly inching closer to him despite Suzi Q being in the middle, pulling him slightly closer by the collar of his shirt and putting his mouth against his ear, not caring for looking like a weird borderline homoerotic tension romcom.

Ceaser screamed.

Joseph screamed from the scream in his ear.

The sudden yanking and bumping into her woke up Suzi Q who screamed as well, turning the car into an inhumane screaming match of blondes and Joseph.

Lisa Lisa just kept driving.

Those tesco earplugs were damn good.
