Back on my doordash bullshit since mom gave me her car. I don't have to pay for it, tag it, or insure it. I just drive it. I hate this dodge caliber, but. It's free. It needs some work, but the work it needs is cheaper than a car loan.

There's no reason for me to hate this car, I've just hated it since we got it. I hate hatchbacks and it feels like a cheap piece of shit. Driving it on the turnpike feels like driving a golf cart. Like if I get to 80 it'll just. Fall apart.

But it's free.

Which is good, bc while Michaels made me permanent part time after the holiday season ended, the holiday season ended, and with it went all my hours. So instead of the 25+ hours I was getting in December, I'm barely getting 15 hours a week.

So.

For how much Machete is described by others as off-putting, he really is a beautiful dog. Does Vasco ever tell him so? That his eyes make him look earnest, his fur the most comforting shade of white like cream, the way his ears catch light like stained glass? If someone doesn't tell him so, he'd forever think he was ugliest duckling

I think Vasco definitely tries, sincerely and often, but Machete is very reluctant to accept compliments and positive feedback. Especially if it's about something as personal and innate as his looks.

#he quietly spends a lot of time and effort trying to make himself look his best so appearances aren't a trivial thing for him #he's always very clean and neat and presentable #except on those occasions when he's soaked in blood but that's totally besides the point #white fur is kind of high maintenance any tiny bit of dirt or staining becomes an eyesore and if it dries it may be hard to remove #he bathes very frequently way more than average considering the time period #some of the outfits he wears are worth more than the combined lifetime earnings of like six generations of his family #silk was outrageously expensive and the brightest red dye came from pulverized cochineal insects that had to be imported from America #which had been colonized less than a century ago so those tiny little cactus bugs were really troublesome to get and the demand was huge #he doesn't quite have the nerve to wear perfume despite it's widespread popularity at the time #but he makes sure the smell of frankincense burned during church services sticks to his fur and clothes #in general when you spend your entire life around strict emotionally congested highly religious men #you might not end up developing a very healthy self-esteem or body image #once you've internalized that sense of inferiority it's hard to unlearn it #he's so thirsty for approval and praise but when he receives some he immediately gets uncomfortable and distrustful and vaguely angry #he absolutely struggles to compliment people back as well at least on any meaningful and personal level so there's that #answered #anonymous #Machete

telling random people that they probably have to shampoo their hair less than they think is a thankless job that no one listens to me for but someone must be a prophet that walks the earth

#my post #people are like wow how does your hair look so good?#1. the cheapest conditioner i can find that doesn't have parabens #2. i only shampoo (also with very cheap shampoo without parabens i personally use the tea tree stuff from tj's) once every two weeks #this amount of time will be different for everyone and sometimes people do just produce so much oil naturally they should be washing a lot #but i've heard a lot of people me included your hair basically recalibrates after a bit and my hair is like never greasy except shampoo day #3. a few sprays of de-frizzer when still wet because my hair is really curly and it does frizz and i don't love that look. that's it #this is obviously not universal but if you like your natural hair you probably don't have to do as much with it as you think #like letting it do its thing will probably make it healthier and you're not reliant on ten different random products from megacorps. yanno.#*note this is mainly advice for curly hair idk what straight hair maintenance is like. i've heard the shampoo thing is pretty universal tho #also this is not a new topic i just was talking to someone yesterday and they were like oh well my daughter uses this incredibly #expensive shampoo and wants hair like yours and i'm like she should use nothing at all and the lady was like no she won't like that

Got through the first four episodes of live action One Piece and I need to go to bed, but I'm EXTREMELY pleased with how it's all turned out so far! Yes, there are changed, but most of them I wholeheartedly approve of and others at least make sense so I'm cool with them. Any complaints are minor nitpicks but overall, the hype remains real for me.

Now I must sleep so I can go to work tomorrow, then watch more of it. I won't spoil anything (I'm even resisting screaming at my friends about things past episode 2) but I am indeed very happy. 😊

been rolling around the idea for a few months of a fusion mechanic for interstitial that isnt amalgam-based (pure self-indulgence for when me and my friends do a campaign) which is not... too entirely far off from what about pacrim would be interesting to me as interstitial-based mechanics (read: the drift)

i really really really prefer not to know my weight but i'm historically pretty bad at going to the doctor and not learning it but this time i was SO brave and didn't look at the scale and managed to tell the nurse i didn't want to know it and she was so nice about it and didn't tell me ANYTHING and i was so proud of myself for advocating for my needs etc. and then i got emailed the after visit summary from the automatic system and there it was right at the top and like. now i am spiraling

#and the thing is i ALSO don't usually read the after visit summary for a basic physical except i'm starting some new meds so i had to look #honestly any medical-related number will activate a fixation but mostly i don't know what my blood test numbers mean at all #so like it's whatever for those #but weight is absolutely a way to make me bananas and i took all the precautions just like maintenance phase and virginia sole-smith #recommended and NEVERTHELESS i know my weight now #WELL FUCK #tw weight #tw body talk #rare pic of me in the wild

may as well put this here—moving across the state, but moving is expensive, etc. and some family made a fundraiser for us.

#it's not my decision and i don't particularly know what to say other than i guess we need $5000 #i am not mentioned in the description because we don't need people asking stupid fuckin questions #nadia rambles #man i am truly gonna have to find a way to buy a humidifier and nasal spray too cause i cannot fuckin deal w/ dryness on my meds #it's bad enough *here* and since it's been 15-30 degrees all week my nose is the sahara desert in there #and now i gotta go to the *literal* arid desert? ugh #w/e i just want a two bathroom apartment #without fucking MOLD #did you know there is mold on my bedroom walls?? pretty sure the walls outside are letting in water #and it's only getting worse.... two corners and it's started to spread to the floor #mom cleaned it w/ bleach a week or two ago and it's already just as bad as it was before she cleaned it in at least one corner #we told the landlord and the maintenance guy was like Yup this is a problem from outside and you know what the landlord did?#nothing but the maintenance guy cleaned it w/ some heavy duty stuff in the summer which lasted a while since it was summer #but now that it's winter and (except the past week or so) humidity is up to 90% it's come back with a vengeance
