I mean, yeah, Chris shocking Eddie into action works. But Chris was too young and parents shield their kids by nature. I feel like if Chris meets Kim, then shit will go to hell because, that's not Shannon. Kim will never be Shannon. And Chris doesn't want a replacement for her so he could be like "dad, stop trying to replace mom" like the way Buck keeps gently reminding Chris that Shannon is dead when Chris has strong emotions about his parents and relationships, to have Chris kinda yell "mom's dead, you can't replace her, I don't want you to replace her" would be the type of telenovela scene I can see happening for real.

Eddie lets out a bitter laugh, raking a hand through his hair. “God, Buck. Do you think I actually gave a shit about the fucking lawsuit? Was I confused? Sure. Irritated that I found out from Bobby instead of you? Yeah. But you know what I thought? I thought that in the grand scheme of things, it wouldn’t fucking matter, that it wouldn’t change anything between us, because we’re partners. That if I called you, you would answer and if Chris needed you, you would be there.”

Eddie wipes at his face and Buck is horrified to see tears in his eyes. “And it turns out I was pretty fucking wrong about that. Because not only did you ignore me —  ignore Christopher — for the sake of your fucking lawsuit, my dead wife gets thrown in my goddamn face by your lawyer.”

The look of betrayal in his eyes makes Buck want to claw his own out. “You didn’t even know her, Buck. And you let your lawyer use her for what? A fucking ‘gotcha’? To show just how right you were?” Eddie shakes his head, his jaw clenched tight.

You know, I started out this fic as a kind of “buck was right to sue” fic, and I still stand by that, however i do think he could have gone about it better than how he did. And after reading some of the comments that people have left, I’m getting irritated with how some people like to baby buck like he isn’t a grown man, esp when it comes to eddie. For this fic, I feel that eddie is pretty mild in comparison to what I’ve seen others write and I feel like I’ve given enough information to explain the decisions eddie has made and yet, some still want to treat him like a villain. Eddie is not a bad man; he’s hurt and tired and trying his mfkin best. 

This is all to say: this is a scene for a later chapter and was not even originally a plot point that I had in my head, but I think it’s necessary now and it’s probably going to end up as one of my favorite scenes.

Kurt Glee Rewatch: The Power of Madonna

I know it’s not a major Kurt ep, but I just love him and Mercedes here omg. Lowkey one of my fav Glee songs...

Lowkey the first time is hype about the assignment and Will didn’t even come up with it... classic.

Also I need to convey how much I love his hoodie (esp with the hat, prob so hood doesn’t fall down). I wish we got to see it again! Kurt has some pieces he wears a lot (black boots, white pants, this grey shirt w a white collar), but then there are outfits that appear once and then... never again.

Love that he dances along, the only one truly appreciating the performance. This is why Kurt hangs out with the girls, gosh. Like dudes, even with your prejudice, can’t you appreciate an absolute bop???

But also bc Kurt in same hoodie... this is the same day. When did the girls do the costume change and practice? I love glee logic lol.

Another great look, lowkey love him in turtlenecks. And I love Kurtcedes s1! Do we ever see Kurt do film ever again? Bc this talent came outta nowhere? I guess there’s sorta the music video at Vogue when he gives Rachel a makeover? Would be fun if we saw more of it.

And yay, the start of Kurt and Sue’s super weird friendship. I find it sweet that even after everything, Kurtcedes still has sympathy for her. Even though she then goes to throw students around... and Kurtcedes is unfazed... what is this school.

He’s so hurt that Sue couldn’t keep up with fashion trends... a true travesty.

“Mercedes is black, I’m gay. We make culture” I love it.

I legit love the Kurt and Sue dynamic. I’m sure part of this was them wanting the Cheerios for their video, but he also wants to help. I think Kurt respects Sue, but doesn’t agree with her methods. And he def sees the humanity in her, here and in Funeral. 

And Sue def has sympathy for Kurt and I think she does respect him on some level. He has that more snarky side and like. He also has no affection for Schue. 

First off, Chris Colfer looks so good in vintage style/black and white. You can often see Kurt’s influence of old Hollywood and it just fits. It’s why I get so annoyed when there are jokes/comments of Kurt wearing ridiculous/girly stuff bc it seems like the other characters treat him like a more camp-y gay and that’s not really his style? He’s so into fashion and he prefers a more sophisticated look.

But anyway, I’m so curious about the behind the scenes of this vid. I’m assuming Sue paid for it bc it looks v extra. But also just... how they styled everything etc. I can’t imagine that Sue is easy to work with.

Ooh, another vintage-y look. Very detective-vibes.

Also, even tho the Kurt-Sue friendship is starting, she still keeps him on the list she gives to Figgins lol. She wants all them glee kids gone. Or maybe she thinks that Kurt would actually mange to make it in a new city with 5 bucks lol.

And then.... then we get... Cheerio!Kurt!!!

First I need to point out a rare Quinn/Kurt interaction! And if you watch them in the background, you can see Kurt (but really Chris tbh) playing with the hat, puts it on Quinn’s head for a second. I love it. Wish we had more of them in canon.

I will gush forever about cheerio!Kurt. I loved football!Kurt too and wish we got more eps, but omg him as a cheerio is everything. I’m happy he was a cheerio for a while (tho I wish we got to see another performance, esp the Celine Dion medley). ANd omg why wasn’t he on the team longer?? I guess tricky s2 with his transfer, but s3?? When he needs stuff for his application? And ugh, I just wanted more.

And I’m so happy he and Mercedes joined bc they prob felt so useless in glee. At least Mercedes gets some of the belt-notes? But Kurt is just background. This is his first song since Wheels (second in the season) and he’s already improved so much? I love when they let him sing in his lower tones, he sounds so good. And he’s such a performer, all the energy.

I wish we got more Kurtcedes duets. I just... they’re so great. And the only other one is in s5 and tbh not a fan of that one. This is just.. I love it! Esp as Mercedes’ voice is amazing, but in Glee they don’t always have her perform so much? Like, she had Bust Your WIndows but after that they have her as the ‘park and bark’ character? But pair her with Kurt, who was a born performer, and it’s amazing. Plus their chemistry, and they hype each other up, it’s so great.

Esp compared to Wheels! And his audition! That awk kid standing still and singing? Gone. He’s having so much fun and you can see that here is where he is truly confident as a performer. And this song is just so fun, esp with everyone’s reactions in the crowd (I love how happy Quinn is for them).

Tbh Will has no reason to be mad. He has other cheerios in glee. And they aren’t leaving the club. Plus, even after they do this and have repeatedly voiced their opinions on wanting to perform, he still never gives them a real chance to perform. I just- Ugh he angers me so much.

Love that he’s included in this, even tho he hasn’t been doing much sexist stuff? But hey, why miss out on chance to sing Madonna? And he can speak out as the ‘honorary girl’ and call out the others. Love that he makes sure Will admits his faults lol

the dopamine rush i needed: attending a con for the first time as jill

i went to my first anime/gaming convention today in my remake jill cosplay and it was so much fun! at first people didn’t really recognize me/thought i was lara croft but i was still having fun with my friends, but then later on i ran into some other re cosplayers!

i took pics with a HUNK cosplayer, on my way in a guy that thought i was lara said he was gonna be chris later on (i never crossed paths with him again tho lol), i saw a heisenberg and said hi but i felt too awkward to try and ask for a pic tho lol

we saw a super awesome aloy cosplayer (we told her she looked amazing but didn’t want to bother her to ask for a pic and i def didnt want to try and take one w/o her permission but omg she looked so good), i saw an advent children cloud cosplayer but same dealio lmao this rly nice person got excited when she saw me and asked for a pic, she said she almost came as ada 😭 apparently there was a leon cosplayer too but there was one point when we were all chilling in the hotel room for a couple hours cuz my friends were staying the whole weekend so i guess i missed him. :(

and then i got another compliment from another jill! or swimsuit version of jill lol cuz the con was at this resort that had a waterpark n stuff. she was telling me about the other re cosplayers cuz she saw an ada as well, and she said there was a carlos!! and apparently there was talk of all the resi cosplayers meeting and taking a group photo tomorrow but i had only planned on going today :( and initially we were gonna take a pic together i think? but we ended up just saying bye to each other lmao cuz i was telling her i was prob gonna have to miss it

at this point i thought abt maybe starting to head home since the rest of the group was gonna hang around and party and stuff since they were staying at the resort, but i decided to stick around longer and i’m glad i did bc lo and behold.....i found the carlos cosplayer!!!

he was talking w some other people so i got nervous trying to talk to him at first, but i really wanted to get at least one pic together, and thankfully he turned out to be super nice and was really excited by my jill costume lol! he was calling me supercop and stuff and it was so much fun. and another guy asked to take a pic of the two of us xD

we took pics and he got a video of us, he had carlos’ rocket launcher earlier in the day and we were joking we could’ve recreated the opening scene when they first meet if he still had it lol. and we were just vibing, it was such a great way to end the night finding the carlos to my jill. i really didnt think i’d find a carlos cosplayer 😩 i had my little carlos keychain attached to my costume the whole day lmao

i get off work kinda late tomorrow but i still thought of maybe still coming? but the pass for saturday is like 50 bucks cuz i think its the most popular day....so maybe if i can leave work early i’ll go, cuz i dont think 50 will be worth being there a couple hours since i do work kinda early the next day. so maybe sunday since its a little cheaper....

oh i also saw swimsuit version of vi, jinx, and caitlyn lol! and omg two of the people in my group were chica and roxy earlier in the day, and they both looked sooooo good! esp our roxy cosplayer, their wig was styled so well, so many people stopped to ask them for photos and stuff lol esp like the actual staff at the con

i also saw someone cosplaying as the cowboy hero in ovw but it got super awkward cuz when i was about to call out to him to say hi i almost accidentally used the old name.....and by the time i was going to correct myself we’d already walked past him rip

next time there’s a con i’d love to whip up jill’s og stars uniform, and go as tifa as well :3 i wish i’d requested off more/planned to go multiple days but i was saving my last vacation day for my birthday :\ but still, even tho this is one of the smaller cons it was such a fun experience. i didnt even care that much about events and stuff, it was just so much fun seeing all the different ppl and being able to nerd out with friends

(i also got an artbook of yoshitaka amano’s work, and this suuuper gorgeous ghost of tsushima print by seerlight, whose work i’d actually already seen before so it was a pleasant surprise to see the prints being sold!)

Ok so I had these thoughts about this outfit

But I’ve been thinking - what if this isn’t tsunami 2.0, but in fact Buck actually 2.0 - as in this outfit 2.0?!!

Because that could in fact be the same corduroy jacket/shirt (it’s hard to tell with the light levels being so vastly different and I can’t see the buttons on the bts image to know!). Whether it’s the same one or not, it’s actually a closer match than the tsunami shirt, and we know they’re about to outfit repeat on Buck for the first time ever this season, so why not outfit repeat again? And those two outfits being repeated - both very much tied to Taylor and very much tied to her treatment of Buck! (If he’s wearing tan chinos and his white trainers we’ve got a winner - esp as the white trainers mean Buck moving on and forward!!)

Anyway, if it is buck actually 2.0 it becomes very interesting because this is after BT hook up in the bar, this is Taylors first thing being ‘you got a story for me,’ this is ‘firefighter acts like a pig’, this is Buck ‘I was working through some stuff,’ this is BT almost hooking up again in the news van before T puts her job first and leaves Buck in the parking lot so she can go to a fire…

What if this outfit is the outfit Buck is wearing when taylor runs off to do her job - abandoning Buck (again) - to report on a fire (maybe how Chekhov’s bracelet comes back into play) and leaves Buck questioning if this is what he actually wants - I mean we’ve already essentially seen the hook up part of that scene play out for the second time - during the Black out, so why not the other parts of it.

What if this is Buck realising that she’s always going to put her job above him and he doesn’t want that, what if the moment this outfit is worn is the trigger moment - when Buck decides to end it?!!

There is a second and alternative section to this which actually plays into it in an interesting way - the next scene after the above one - the newly married couple wrapped round a tree, only we then cut back to Buck in the same outfit but this time at Chimneys, where buff Friday is happening - it plays as if it’s later the same night - but they inserted the rescue inbetween.

This is the scene where Buck accuses Madney of being a couple ‘we’re note dating. But you two are.’ And we know that Eddie and Maddie are being paralleled hard this season - so maybe we’re going to get this paralleled in some way - buck talking to Maddie about his relationship with Taylor and, idk that it’s like they’re not dating because of x y and z. Maddie will make a comment about Buck being sure it’s what he wants from life etc. Perhaps commenting about the family he has built with Eddie and Chris (that might be hoping for too much too soon but it would work esp with Oliver saying Buck will realise what he wants in a partner etc etc) which set a Buck thinking.

The thing that has me 👀👀👀 about this whole set up is that Ali calls during that scene - Buck turns her down initially, but they get together later that episode - Buck makes the active choice to move on from Taylor and he is in that white shirt and red corduroy jacket combo!!!!

ok so i think there are 3 possible scenarios for how s4 played out re: 4x14 and the will, right?

1. ryan was made aware of eddie changing his will at some point early on in the season (around 4x04-ish) and therefore was responding appropriately (in conjunction with the script and director obviously) to how he thought eddie would react to buck

2. ryan didn't know but the writers did and so were purposefully including these lingering moments in the script where they would focus on eddie's reaction to buck

3. nobody knew until late in the season and it's all a huge coincidence

no matter which option it is, something about the way eddie looks at buck in season 4 is just Different?????

like season 2 is obviously about establishing their dynamic and developing their friendship. and season 3 in its own right has some very loud moments to really drive home their significance in each other's lives (the tsunami, the lawsuit, the kitchen scene, the skateboard etc.)

but while season 4 is a much quieter season in comparison and we definitely went whole episodes without any sort of major interactions between them, i honestly think it's the most...damning? in terms of evidence for how much they mean to each other (or at least how much buck means to eddie??) bc it’s more subtle, sure, but it speaks volumes to the depths of how they know each other

everything about how eddie reacts to buck in 4x04 and 4x05 shows how much he cares about him. being the calm to buck’s anger when he’s venting his frustrations on the punching bag, validating his feelings and saying he doesn’t need to apologise to his parents, being the one to know buck is talking to dr copeland, the “that’s not on you” and “i know you did” said so softly. 

none of it’s necessarily Big or Declarative but it’s there and it’s a given and you can tell eddie’s worried about him even if he’s not vocal about it like the others. you can see it in his face that he’s trying to figure out how to make buck remember he’s not alone and he ultimately does that in the same way buck did for him so much in s2 - he offers support like it’s a given and he doesn’t push beyond that

likewise the scene in treasure hunt haunts me where buck says he doesn’t trust anyone and eddie’s face just looks....so different to everyone else. the rest of the 118 are mock offended but eddie looks so?????? i don’t even know what the right word is but he’s very clearly thinking in that moment - about buck and trust and his abandonment issues and how to make him understand he matters to eddie (and chris)

also i was talking about this with @evanbucxley the other day but the moment at the beginning of jinx too with the whole ‘check’ thing where eddie completely indulges buck for no reason?????????? and does so in a way that clearly shows this is a conversation they’ve already had bc he knows what buck wants him to say. i’m literally not even lying when i say it might be one of my favourite scenes of all time for them bc he’s so fond???? and the fact this is coupled with him telling buck he’s allowed time to process if he’s not ready to move on after the daniel revelation and saying ‘still not sure what inspired this software update’ about buck 3.0

all of this is to say, having these quiet asides where we see these moments play out in eddie’s expression whether they were deliberate or not, laid such a perfect foundation for everything that happened in 4x13/4x14. because you watch buck completely lose it when eddie gets shot and you watch him break down sobbing and you watch him step up to take care of christopher in a way that’s so expected and accepted by the other characters and you watch eddie’s face when buck says it’d be better if he got shot and then you watch the hospital scene and you just think....of course

of course eddie would do this. of course he would choose buck - he loves buck and he trusts buck more than anyone. of course this makes sense. and i honestly don’t know where they’re taking things from here but i think so much of season 4 showed eddie quietly reflecting on his feelings for buck and how he specifically cares for him (not even necessarily romantically but just as one of the most important people in his life) which then culminated in the hospital scene and “you act like you’re expendable but you’re wrong” - arguably one of the most significant things any character has ever said to buck. and i’d really, really love if we got a similar journey for buck in regards to eddie in s5 :’)

I don't know if you've paid any attention to this but do you know the official ages of the main characters? You've always paid attention to little details so i feel like you'd be the right person to ask this to.

I appreciate you thinking of me for this - I have in fact paid attention to this 😂 I know about the general age of some characters, and I know within a year of others (depending on when their birthday is they may have aged up already!)

Bobby - 54. He says in the pilot that he’s 50 years old, and so you figure he’s at least 54 by now, if not 55 if his birthday was between January (when the pilot aired) and now!

Athena - mid 50s. In Athena Begins, I feel like it’s safe to assume she’s around 22 or 23, since she’s in law school but not close to finishing (and I really don’t think she took a gap year), and that was 1989, so she was *probably* born around 1966-67. Which would put her around 54-55 right now, which fits with how old Bobby is!

Hen - 41. She says in Future Tense that she joined med school at 40 (if she’s not rounding for dramatics). Since she got into med school last year in the s3 finale, I’d say 41 now. If she did just say 40 bc it was easy, I’d still say she’s between 39-42 now, bc she’d have to be close in age to 40 to round so automatically like that imo. But at this point I’m going with a simple 41.

Chim - Late 30s to early, early 40s. Chim is one of the two I really don’t have a good idea on. Chimney Begins is set in 2005, and he’s at least 21, since we see him drinking beer in that episode. So he was born sometime before 1984, which would make him 36 right now if he was exactly 21 then, but I think he’s a little older than that, since he’s been working in the bar for a while before the fire. I can’t remember any other details that would give him a more specific age, so if someone does and can provide them I would love to add them! Personally I’d say 39-40, bc I think he’s a little older than Maddie but not by much. I can say however that he has a March birthday! EDIT - thanks to the wonderful @shannon-diaz who remembered that we see Chim’s birthday on his license in 2x10 (you can see the pic provided in the notes!) HOWEVER! I want to make a disclaimer (which I would like to emphasize is not me trying to argue against the lovely Ann at all, she’s absolutely right about this, I just wanna say this) - they have already been changing Chim’s birthday since then, since the license says 10/20/1977 and they’ve since moved his birthday to March. So it’s absolutely possible that they’ve decided to change his age as well. BUT! At the point this was shown, they’d already committed to Madney becoming a thing, so it’s likely they thought about how old Maddie and Chim were in relation to one another. What I don’t know is if they thought about Maddie’s age before then, or if they put it off until they had to during the Daniel arc. All of this is to say - right now, as of end of s4, the best info we have says Chim is 44. But I could also absolutely see the writers pulling a switcharoo on the poor props crew and changing his age, since they’ve already discarded the birth date. So I say, go forth and know that Chim is 44! But also please don’t get mad at me if that information changes in the future 😂

Buck - 29. During the entire Buck Begins arc, they say multiple times that the family has been hiding a secret from him for 29 years, etc etc. In the Valentine’s Day ep in s1, Abby says Buck is 26. And in Kids Today (the opener to s3) Maddie specifically mentions he’s 28. So I’m most sure about Buck, out of everyone, esp since Oliver himself is 29. I think he’s the character where they’re sticking closest to the actor’s actual age.

Maddie - around 37. We know Maddie was 9 when Daniel died (Chim says she made the promise to not talk about Daniel when she was 9). Since Daniel died a little over a year after Buck was born, that puts Maddie around 8 at the time Buck was born, making her 37 to Buck’s 29 as of right now. Also, in ep 4 of s4, her mom mentions her being a “high risk pregnancy” since she’s over 35, but specifically does not say she’s over 40. So 37 or 38 for her. (Side note - Maddie is older than Daniel by between 1.5 to 2 years, since she says Daniel died when he was 7.) like I said, I’m most positive about Buck’s age but Maddie’s is a close second.

Eddie - early 30s? I also have no idea about him. My personal best guess would be 33, since that’s how old Ryan Guzman is now, and they’ve never in my recollection said anything to indicate a different age for him! (Same thing here as goes for Chim - if anyone can remember something let me know!) Note - I’ve been thinking on this a while and I actually feel pretty good about 31-33. We know Chris was born in 2011, so he’s turning 10 sometime soon, and that would make Eddie somewhere between 21-23 when he was born, which I feel fits with a timeline of him taking time to work with his dad after high school, and then joining the army, doing basic, and getting deployed all in time to get leave for Christopher’s birth.

And there’s all 7 mains! I’m going to link this in a bullet point in the next character details post, so if anyone wants to add information for Chim or Eddie (preferably with an episode number and/or scene so that I can verify it), I’ll edit this post and give you credit, so that way when I link this post, people will be able to see it all in one place, and the edits w credit will be in the tag for everyone to see!

Also all of these ages are as of right now, end of s4. If you want to write future fic or fic for a past season you’ll want to add or subtract years accordingly!

Been thinking of ways to end bt w/out revealing some absurd "twist" at the last minute that makes Taylor an absolute monster. Because while bt the ship is almost universally hated, I've seen a number of comments--esp on the Wine Mom App (fb) with sentiments like:

"Where is sassy Taylor? I miss sassy Taylor!"

"They were so fun before they started dating!"

"I wish I could get into bt 'cause I really like Taylor but they're boring together!"

"Break up bt so I can go out with her."

"The only reason for me to root for them is so Taylor stays on the show!"

My point being even though most fans do want bt to break up, a lot of them would be disappointed to see Taylor made into a full-on villain. Like she gets busted for stealing from the elderly or some lazy, last minute, 'she was secretly evil this whole time' bullshit. Or if she was mean to Christopher to his face. Personally even I'd be disappointed if they pulled such a cheap move. I always hate it when one half of an unpopular ship is turned into an absolute devil just to guarantee the character loses every shred of audience sympathy.

Like, yeah what Taylor did to Bobby was horrific, but last season when she was reintroduced if they had just given her a scene with him where she admitted that what she tried to do was wrong? That she's realized since then that she needs to think more carefully and compassionately about what the human cost of going after that a juicy story might be? Then yeah, I could've liked her character. Because it is possible for basically good people to have massive character flaws--the question is will they realize it and work on themselves.

Don't get me wrong, I still wouldn't ship bt, but I could enjoy a sassy friendship--especially if Buck found out she's bisexual and came out to her as bi himself.

So how to write her off, give bt closure, but also not "ruin her character" for those who do like her. Personally I'd love for Buck to just . . . realize he's clinging because he's in love, not with Taylor, but with knowing she loves him and his devotion is appreciated. But that doesn't make for Dramatic!Television!

So there has to be A Thing.

Preferably something that brings positive growth to both of them at the end of the day. Now, my number one preference would be for Taylor to notice more and more that Buck always prioritizes Chris and Eddie above her. Because if a man said ily to me? No, I wouldn't expect him to totally ignore all his other important relationships but it would piss me off after a while if I was constantly being ditched in favor of time with the Best Bro and his kid. I'd love to see the process of her trying to ignore it while jealousy quietly builds until she finally confronts him and makes him admit that he'll never love her the way he loves Eddie and Chris--maybe even to admit or at least realize that no one will ever compete with them in Buck's heart.

Second option--and I HATED this option at first, but there's a few ways it could actually be great for Buck's character growth. The pregnancy scare. TV shows loooooooove a good pregnancy scare storyline. Here's the thing: I think right now Buck has either convinced himself that he is in love with Taylor, or he thinks staying with a gf who at least loves him will make him happy. And I think it makes him feel proud to know that he is crushing it at this Being A Boyfriend thing. Now, whaaaaaaat could possibly jar him out of such denial?

Pregnancy scare. That shit is real. A baby would mean he and Taylor would be tied together for life even if they weren't a couple. So here's Buck thinking he's gonna settle down and build a life with Taylor, all neat 'n tidy and loving. And he's always wanted kids, so wouldn't that kinda be perfect if she's pregnant? How great! But . . . he's not excited. In fact he's praying it's a false alarm. And that's what makes him realize he's not as in love with Taylor as he wants to be. He does want kids, just not with her.

And I know we've all agreed that Taylor doesn't want kids because of the career thing, but I used to take care of several children of doctors and lawyers, etc. One woman was a lawyer who eventually worked her way up to become a Judge, and she adopted her daughter as a single mom. So while Taylor doesn't seem like the maternal type (at all) I've always balked at the pervasive assumption that ambitious powerful women in demanding careers are derailed by motherhood. Like it's supposed to be obvious that women like that don't want kids. So I think it would be an interesting twist if Taylor has always thought of herself as an "I am NEVER having kids," kind of woman--but facing the possibility of pregnancy makes her realize that while she's nowhere near emotionally ready for motherhood now . . . and that she has a lot of work to do on herself first because Buck's love won't magically heal her . . . it is something she wants for herself someday. And for her to realize that when she closes her eyes and imagines it, she doesn't see Buck in the picture.

Then Buck and Taylor both come out of the relationship with changed visions of their future, and they can part ways on their own separate journeys of emotional growth.

Buddies are happy, Taylor fans are happy (even if it's bittersweet cuz she's leaving the show), and whoever runs 911's ig/twt accounts will be happy about not having to read a million replies complaining about bt.

this is so sick - I really didn't hate the episode, I thought athena's storyline was interesting esp. some of the rapist's lines like "ur a cop who happens to be a mother" I wish more people wrote about that because it's so interesting esp. w/ athena's last & her relationships. . and the Michael + Athena dynamic is literally my favorite. and I didn't think Bobby was out of character?? Harry is literally his child + his traumatic backstory with his other children? of course dude wilded the fuck out. I don't know. this episode got a lot of hate (which I understand because of the copganda) but alot of people j wanted to get back to buddie which is annoying. this show is an ensemble and I haven't seen significant Harry & Michael scenes in a long time.

eddie & ana's scene had me in tears - they had more chemistry in those 3 minutes than they're entire relationship and now I want fics where Ana and Eddie stay friends pls. I really feel like they would be bomb buddies. hate on the actress all you want, but I feel like Chris & Ana was amazing. and while I don't hate the fact that the actress is leaving, I do hate the fact that Ana is not going to be mentioned at all after this. I just wanna hear mentions like (buddie-centric since that's all people care about nowadays) Eddie & Buck going on a date and Chris hanging out with Ana for the day or sum like that. and don't even get me started on Maddie & Chimney. That lowkey traumatized me. my heart was literally hurting and then I had to go eat some comfort food because chimney and maddie had my heart breaking. wish maddie didn't go out like that, like other people have been saying, but j do understand why she did it even that doesn't make what she did right. but yeah.

I'm glad the big leap came on afterwards because I needed a reboot and something to laugh at (even tho that episode was wild !!!)

oh SO many. the number of possibilities with eddie being dispatch... the limit does not exist. so buck gets hurt on a call with eddie being on the other side painfully aware that buck is in danger but not being able to do anything except say his name again and again bcos he’s not there to have buck’s back like he promised - no vowed - years ago? like if that doesn’t happen what is even the point! and with the theme of children getting hurt that has been running all season, it has to cumulate to christopher getting hurt and eddie not being able to do anything except trust that buck will get to their son and protect him, which would inevitably have to lead to a conversation about the will! I also think at least one person from the firefam will also find out about the will.  and now that we have the fire at dispatch confirmed I think eddie is going to spend the whole time saving people without a stitch of protection or gear (eddie’s very own tsunami arc!) and realise that being a firefighter is who he is, and no matter how much he tries to ignore that part of him he can’t. and also make some uncomfortable realisations about his own mortality and the fact that quitting firefighting does not guarantee his safety, which I think will ultimately lead to a conversation about the shooting with both chris and buck, and the season will end with eddie officially coming back to the 118.

ok lol forever winter is THEE buddie song, esp the s5 arc (hence the 3 different edits I currently have in drafts ALL to this one song). this love is my no 1 buddie first kiss song, and I even wrote a whole fic about it. I also think pancakes for dinner by lizzie mcalpine is a great buddie song, as is home by 1d and helplessly by tatiana manaois. 

25. what is your ideal confession scene?

ive got two versions - a show version and a fic version/my ideal version. the show version I think they would do something dramatic, but I don't want it to be after a near death experience or anything. for buck, who has spent his entire life harming himself because he thinks people only care about him when he is dying, I don't think a death bed confession is good for his character. when eddie finally confesses (because in my head its eddie who takes the first step - eddie finally gets to choose his own happiness, and buck finally gets to hear someone say they love him and mean it) I imagine it to be a quiet moment. they’re in eddie’s kitchen, eddie washing the dishes while buck puts chris to bed and buck walks in and just starts putting the dishes away on autopilot, without having to even think about it. and eddie at that moment is struck with the realisation that all along he has been making a home with buck. it’s not just about the kitchen that buck uses more than eddie does. it’s about buck’s jacket hanging on the coat rack beside eddie’s, and the throw that smells of buck because thats the one he always uses on movie nights, and the nearly finished bottle of oat milk in the fridge that only buck drinks. and it isn’t a new realisation by any means, Eddie has known he loves buck for some time now, has known buck is a part of his family for even longer. but in that moment, that realisation knocks him off his feet and he starts seeing visions of a future he has never let himself imagine, and he cant go a single moment longer without saying it. and when he does, he waits for the panic to set in but it doesn't because he feels happy and content and light in that moment. he knows he and buck have been leading up to this moment for a long time. 

Omg you have been taking the words out of my mouth with this whole eddieana discourse. I was never crazy for her character [which is more-so bcuz the writers refused to give her any depth as a character] but ever since the break up ep I've been feeling like I have to defend her cuz of all the hate on this site. I was bout ready to dip out the fandom bcuz of the ugliness i've seen from shippers. I'd like to see buddie happen but without all the hate and reaching i'm seeing.

Finally, I can get to this and thank you! I want Buddie to happen, my mom has been watching 911 for a while but it wasn't until I found Buddie on YT that I gave the show a chance. I am here with my clown mask on because if Buddie doesn't happen...idk how the writers are going to write their way out of this...and people won't like it.

But this whole let's hate Ana (even more) train is so fucking out of control that I'm just...

I'm not interested in Ana's character, I don't want her with Eddie, I don't want Buck with Taylor but I'm alright with Taylor being in the show because her character does stuff at least, we have a few more layers to Taylor and even if you don't like her personality -she has one at least.

Ana was one note until the end. I think that was the most we got out of her.

My issue is not that I love Ana but I hate the uwu over Eddie. Eddie can do no wrong but even if Eddie does wrong, it's okay, he'll learn and grow and a chorus of Eddie can do better and even when he is a dick, clowning on Ana because of his actions is okay.

But this lead me to thinking about Eddie overall. Esp when it comes to his relationship's outside of mainly Buck and then a lesser extent, the 118.

First, we'll talk about Lena. Now, I find it amazing that Lena and Eddie have ANY shipping (friendly) when their last interaction was legit her calling him a bad friend that knows about her, they're not even friends.

Lena was a stand-in for him and she knew it. She gives him advice, she bails him out because she was the only option (not that he cared enough about her to just think of her as someone he could lean on) And then, when she was trying to help him out, instead of TALKING to her, he came for her neck and she called his bullshit and left.

Then we find out Lena was there on HIS behalf.

We never got an apology for that, maybe it was off-screen but in the show? What we see? She doesn't want to have anything to do with him but he didn't treat her like a real friend or a person with feelings.

Onto Ana, I've already spoken about her here and here and I'm linking this lovely post on Ana's 'ableism' because I didn't read it that way. 

But apparently, we're all monolith and if I don't agree, I'm not apart of the community and I'm not allowed to see things differently.

To this fandom, my troubles aren't real because I don't agree.

(And yes for me it's troubles, it's limitations because due to this, there is soooo much I want to do and I can't. It's a fact of life. I can't and growing up, I didn't have a lucky Buck that could make things better.)

Ana has not only been done dirty by the writers but the fandom AND Eddie.

One thing I saw, that Ana should've known better flirting with Eddie and etc. And I'm sick because at that point THAT MAN WAS GONE FOR HER. They both vibed with each other, it wasn't even hard-core flirting on her part and he could barely talk because he was transfixed. And in the end, Eddie was the one who started this relationship. Anna didn't push it on him, Ana didn't even notice Eddie when her hand was burned.

Eddie was the one driving the relationship, he set all of boundaries, he set the pace and because she knew he had a kid, she followed him.

Then the skate incident which they moved on from and if she's wrong then he's wrong for not only going above her head and reporting it but letting someone like her Chris's life on a personal level.

Yeah, the flirting scene was bad but if you wanna take issue with that, take issue the writers. (side-note, if you have issue's with the fact that she can't properly speak Spanish, instead of finding her annoying, once again, the issue's lies with the writers and casting directors, editing team and everyone who see's the final product before it airs.)

And then I remember 4.14 and I find it funny that we never got an Eddie apologizing to her for assuming the worst. The only reason (until the point of the kid calling Eddie) that Buck was able to say the kid was lucky Eddie was there for him was because Ana, wanted to help and planned on sending the word out, found something fishy and brought it up.

(My good sis, I know our partners actions can be brushed off but we would've had a nice LONG talk about him after that, but once again, the writers said whatever to her personality or she was just more focused on helping the kid.)

But once again, he comes for her neck and we never see him having to own up to and apologize.

I'm not gonna say much about the shooting because she's a good person for staying with him but it doesn't help that after he started to have doubts, he strung her along. He wanted to make it work but it doesn't change the fact that he had invested in a relationship and knew it.

Can't even get an apology for him embarrassing her on her visit to the fire-house. Like, not even I was having a rough day or some shit. No just push her off on Ravi and call it a day.

Now, he doesn't owe her much (and he shouldn't) but I'm tired of seeing his words being used for meme'ing and saying 'oh that was cold' but brushing over how much of an ass he was in the that moment. (and someone came to me with bullshit about how he was struggling with his mental health / panic attacks as if you can't be held accountable for your words / actions.)

Ana wasn't talking to the air, she wasn't just speaking to speak. She was engaging with his son who was engaging back and said that shit with some half-assed attempt to cover it up. Yeah, she could've used a little tact but in her shoes, you're boyfriend has panic attacks at the thought of a future with you but is chill with cutting you out? Yeah, she was pissed and she didn't even stay that way.

Oh, because she touched him one last time, she's trying to hang onto him? She's processing this in 15 minutes and touching him is wrong? Like Jesus, it was horrible seeing her trying to come to terms with what was about to happen, everything that Eddie got to go through for months and weeks, he's allowed that but ya'll accept want her to do it in less then 10 minutes? Fuck outta here.

And after it all, still, once again, not one apology. Not one thank you. My dude. After she cared for his son? She wouldn't have been a horrible person if she thought Chris would be better with his family. There was a trust, Chris was ready to make brownies with her, she's not only loosing the relationship with Eddie but with Chris and not even a thank you for her time, nothing.

It was cold blooded, half of their relationship was him being shitty and that's her send off? But yeah, she's the sole problem.

And lastly, Shannon.

I didn't even know their was an anti-Shannon tag. Ya'll are no worse than his family that couldn't wait until her body was cold in the ground.

Like....if Shannon has an anti tag then Eddie shouldn't even have fans. Shannon wasn't the only one who couldn't deal with it. Eddie ran too, he said it. The only difference is, we get to see Eddie grow, Shannon got killed off.

Out of all of the woman on this list, Eddie treated her like shit the most. Before he went on his second tour, she was begging, she was telling him she needed him home. He made the CHOICE without once talking to her about it. He got to say they needed money and be a hero. No, she needed her husband.

Shannon told with him, she always did and he just didn't have it him to get past his own shit to help her. I'm sorry, no mother is overjoyed to learn their child was born with a disability. Mothers have this pressure to do everything perfect, to be perfect. She's spent every single year of Chris's life wondering, how did she fuck up. What she did do wrong and at the same time, she's asking for him.

And then her mother gets cancer, her mother is dying and she's stuck in Texas with his racist family, who wouldn't just not be horrible after the woman had died. Yeah, he's suffering when he gets back but she had already asked him to stay, to be her husband and he couldn't deal at the time. Did ya'll not see how haggard and tired? He found his parents annoying so what about her? When did she get a chance to breathe.

So she ask him to come with her again, to come with her to see her dying mother and take care of her. Someone said she couldn't take care of Chris but she could go take care of her mother and it's not like that's easier. Well, from the sound of it, her mother only had her. Like? So, not only is she dealing with the fact that her mother is dying, she has to stay in Texas because she couldn't care for Chris & her mom alone, with his rude ass family.

And ya'll are shocked she broke?

And then she comes back, she wants to see Chris but Eddie says no and she's only needed for the school. And she does it, she does it and she's ready to not be around but as long as it's for Chris, she'll do it.

And then she's only good for sex. Good enough to sleep with but not good enough to see her son. And I get why Eddie was on the fence but he wasn't having a worry when he was banging her. Then, they get past it and she's still only Chris's mother, he leaves her limbo, not wanting to become a family again but enjoying the benefits.

It sucks, he was ready to be with her for the baby but at that point, she did the smart thing. Their time was over, they'd never be able to have a romantic relationship again. And then she passes. And even if she was, there should still be a divorce. Just like she wasn't meeting his needs, he didn't attempt to meet hers and it wasn't until she was gone that he understood HALF of what she had been going through. 

But, no, instead of exploring how he's shitty to his partners, we'll mock how much of an ass he was to Ana because don't like her.

Anyway. Legal guardian huh? My two cents is that this entire episode was focused on three relationships going through hardship: Maddie & Chimney (romantic), Athena & Bobby (romantic), Eddie & Buck (?????platonic co-parenting???).

I can't bring myself to be optimistic about canon buddie but like. we all know the truth in our hearts. and in the writing.

and here’s my two cents right- if ana was meant to stick around we wouldn’t have gotten carla deliberately making eddie go oh so that’s not what i want in 4x13, and ana would’ve gotten time in this ep (and past eps) that would make us see why we should like them together- but when ur most memorable scene are ones telling us ur not meant to b and the one elementary math foreplay we joke about- i doubt it’s sticking around yk? i’m betting on her being gone before 5B. as for taylor, i’m guessing she’ll stick around for a long time after but i’m still guessing a breakup knowing that the timing, the reasoning, and the way they affect each other is all bad for their relationship 😬 but i’ll bet they’ll keep taylor around as a friend for buck which is fine in my book

and then ur left w buck and eddie, who are now linked in a way that is so Strong that u can’t compare to any other friendship on the show (hen and chim/athena don’t share children and sob like that when the other is hurt and we Know that) and it’s like ok if eddie realizes he doesn’t want ana, and sees that the position in his life is already taken by buck- they’d have to end up together? either that or 91- seemingly making ??? eddie and buck ??? forever confirmed bachelors ????? which would be a CHOICE but i simply can’t see andie or buck n taylor going to that wedding endgame- esp considering that that’s so many people lmao
