The muwahideen are finding marriage difficult, among a lot of things. And I want to say, the path of the Ghuraba isn’t paved with roses. Being from the Ghuraba isn’t an aesthetic. It’s is a path that Allah blessed us to be upon. So remember it , when things became difficult. When marriage isn’t easy, remember this. Make dua and tie your camel.

And when you make dua, consistently do it. Day in and day out. Tahajjud shouldn’t be a once every 2 week thing. Make it part of your routine. Raise your hands to the heavens and beg Allah. Show humility to and tell Allah honestly. If you want companionship, tell Allah that. If you fear falling into zina, be honest about it with Allah. When it rains, make dua. Between the adhan and iqaamah, make dua. In Sujood, make dua. The last hour of Friday, make dua. The dua made at tahajjud is an arrow that never misses its target. So where are you, o you who has a need that needs fulfilling ? Where are your who wishes to have that which they desire? If you are sleeping at that time, do you really want it? You truly don’t want it if you know you have a Lord that descends and seeks to fulfill the need of His slaves.

Ask family, friends and people at the masjid. Do something new and look outside of your town, city or even country. There has been plenty of brothers and sisters on the manhaj who have traveled elsewhere for a spouse or maintain a long distance relationship as a temporary before they are united . If you have a preference, look outside of that and expand your options. Ask those online and if the online route is taken, do your due diligence. It shouldn’t be the first choice but after asking Allah, go for it (for sisters, please always seek permission from a wali and have him every step of the way, online and in real life). Even if the your surroundings are mainly liberals and madkhalis for example, don’t ever underestimate Allah. Allah can send somebody to you when you least expect it in a way that you could never imagine. So have good thoughts of Allah. He is how we think of Him. Do you think He will never give you a spouse? Believe your Lord will answer you and that you will be pleased.

Don’t forget to look into your self. How is your heart with Allah? How much are your sins? Are they greater than your good deeds ? How many sins are you willingly indulging in that you can easily cut off? You want a righteous spouse but are you striving to be from the righteous ? You ask Allah for a spouse and you feel as if your dua isn’t being answered , but what is the amount of sins?

Are you fulfilling your obligations? Are you praying on time , giving zakat, forbidding the evil and enjoining the good , maintaining ties with kith and kin, staying away from the haram? Brothers, are you defending the Ummah and securing the release of the captives? Look into yourself. There could be things that are delaying the response to your dua. Also, think of how you’re close to Allah right now on your state. You’re begging Allah consistently in Tahajjud, your mouth is constantly moving with dua, you’re in a state of hope and wanting a need fulfilled. Yes it’s not easy being patient upon something you’ve been wanting for a long time, but take advantage of how close you are to Allah now. Maybe Allah wants to keep you near Him. Maybe He wants to hear your voice just a little more.

Purify your intentions. The spouse you desire isn’t just for yourself. Have the intention when you get married it is to aid the deen of Allah. It is to bring victory back in the earth and to raise children who will uphold the banner of Tawheed high in the lands. A righteous spouse is part of your enjoyment but remember the bigger picture.

As a last note, work to keep your heart attached to Jannah. We may not get everything we want here but what is with Allah is much better and greater. Dunya isn’t final. It’s just a bridge. Keep your eyes in the prize and your heart connected to heavenly matters. Ask Allah to grant you contentment with your Qadr and to make it easy for you to be grateful in all situations. والله اعلم

May Allah grant all the muwahideen righteous spouses sooner rather than later. May Allah grant us patience and protect us from falling into fitnah. May Allah answer your Adiyah in beautiful ways. آمين

I've been listening to this while working on the Celebrity News fic, but I'm not sure it quite fits the fic. That said, I do think that it kinda fits Rooney's fear to get back into a relationship with Yorinobu, but still kind of wants to be in his life.

I've had this one on while working on the Relic Malfunction fic, and it definitely fits Rooney's mental state. They know they're almost at the end of their road with Johnny and the Relic, and Rooney doesn't have much time to make a decision about their fate. Unfortunately, they now have to tell Yorinobu about the Relic and that they're dying. This one is gonna be a real angst fest.

I really fucking love Kingslayer. It's already on Rooney's Cyberpunk playlist, and i'm thinking about putting it on their ship playlist. But, I've been listening to this one while working on a prompt for Rooney and Yorinobu. TLDR of the prompt is that Rooney defends Yorinobu when a few assassins go after the pair, but gets pissed off when he comes back for them. (Rooney is just really concerned about him getting hurt, lol.) Anyway, I like to think this speaks to Rooney's devotion to Yorinobu.

Album Review: 👍🏼Recommend

Lana Del Rey, Incense, The #1 Male Sex Toy in the World, and the Auto Play feature on YouTube Music?

The secret recipe for turning people into Taylor Swift fans isn't once size fits all, in fact, when it comes to the moment a talented artist grabs your attention for the first time, I think of it more like a meet cute. Cupid doesn't care who you're with either, he's sneaky like that. I had no intention of listening to "Midnights". In fact, Taylor Swift wasn't even on my Pop music radar until she infiltrated my bedroom solo act, with Lana's masterpiece, "Born To Die", as the sonic backdrop I had consented to.

As though Lana had lovingly snuck Taylor into the room and revealed her as a surprise birthday gift, "Snow On The Beach" auto played right after Lana's album ending track, "Lucky Ones". I have to admit, as though I was audibly blindfolded, when Taylor's track started, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I couldn't tell them apart! "Snow On The Beach" has Lana's red lipstick-stained cigarette butts all over it. She seamlessly weaves in and out of Taylor's (surprisingly) sultry vocal delivery, never taking control of the song. But she's there in the room, the whole time, making sure I'm still okay with this cunning sleight of hand.

My second order of business for the night was to check and see if Lana had just silently dropped an album on me without telling me first. One that included this new song. To my surprise, it's on Taylor Swift's new album!? As a man who appreciates a good musical rabbit hole, I delved further and started "Midnights" from the top. Because "What's the big idea?" and whatnot.

To be perfectly honest, I chuckled at the title of the first track "Lavender Haze". My mind immediately connected it to "Purple Rain" and well... It was a cute moment. I've since read that this album contains Easter eggs, albeit, this may not be one of them. I hit play though and I got smacked in the face with the most uncannily Dua Lipa sounding song on the whole album. This is a good thing though, we like Dua Lipa. And it's refreshing to know that Taylor might have taken some influence from her, and chose to give her a lovely nod to begin the album.

"Maroon" is an interesting track as well, because it's always the second track that sets the pace of an album, in my opinion. Just as a single note isn't a melody until there's a second note to compliment it. In music theory this is called an interval. And in this case, the previous track was in B-flat Major, and "Maroon' is in G Major. Not to get too technical, but this interval the first two tracks created is called a "minor 3rd" (m3). For reference, the first two notes of Moonlight Sonata form a minor 3rd. I already know this album is going to be a little bit sad. And boy did it deliver! Because "Anti-Hero" is in E Major, and we now have a descending diminished arpeggio taking us into the third song. Taylor is building suspence with this track order!

In most albums, you'll find that the third track is almost always a single. "Anti-Hero" comes in loud and clear. Taylor's voice is now front and center with that gorgeous verse melody. The starting lyric is "I have this thing where I get older but just never wiser" and her command of that falsetto on the word "thing" sells the lyric to me at full-price every time. What a mature delivery, to attach to such a doubtful line about oneself, but sing it so confidently. There's something special about this song. It's a song about insecurities, and I'm humbled to hear it sung so proudly. Whatever she was going through, seems now resolved. We enjoy those moments, don't we.

After "Snow On The Beach" we have a few more tracks that seem to explore even further -Taylor's latest pop sensibilities, with "Bejeweled" being the bubbliest one of all. For my personal preference, I wasn't too impressed with it. The song seems a bit crowded with too many lyrics and Taylor seems to breathe between words at odd moments. It's probably more suitable for fans of her previous bodies of work. Let's just say that if "Bejeweled" had played after "Lucky Ones", I wouldn't be writing this review, and I would have never heard one of the most hauntingly beautiful pop songs I've ever listened to, and it's been on repeat since 11:47pm last night...

That song is "Labyrinth", and it has the honor of a spotlight. Let's listen together.

This song took me back to 2012. I'd met a beautiful young lady at an airport terminal in Copenhagen on my way back from visiting my mother in Norway. We had a meet cute that led to us spending the next 32 hours holding hands, loitering the airport, waiting for her to tell me to smile again and again, and wishing to never go home. As I finally boarded the flight that separated us, she kissed me on the lips for the first time since we'd met. It was at that moment that "Labyrinth" should have started playing over the loudspeakers. Because in my mind, when I think of that moment, this song belongs to it. This song gave me closure, and I'm grateful.

To close out the album, we have the cleverly celebratory lyrics of "Karma", the rich and sweet nostalgia-inducing "Sweet Nothings", and "Mastermind" could have very well been the first song on the album, because it perfectly encapsulates the lyrical pretenses of every song on this album. She's acknowledging that she's in control of every rushing memory she penned to the sheet, every winding road she willingly drove while sitting in the driver's seat.

Taylor Swift took me on a ride with this album, and I'm inspired to take her up on her next foray into the throws of adult womanhood. I have trust in her now.

On Set and Storms

I grew up in South Texas where we were used to hurricanes. To this day, one of the most magical things I’ve ever experienced is standing outside when the eye has passed over me. There is such raw power and majesty to storms. They are terrifying and destructive but can impart great wisdom. As a Kemetic, I find myself closer to Set during storms and actively attempt to listen. Hurricane Harvey was one of the most terrible to hit the Coastal Bend in decades. I prayed to Set in the eye of that storm, before we lost power and I learned what had happened to Houston. I stood outside with arms outstretched, honoring His Sekhem and the Majesty of His natural domain. Suddenly a gust of wind blew an updraft beneath me. I felt validated and listened to. I went back inside and we lost power soon after. The Texas grid didn't get restored for another eight days. I felt Set’s presence in the storm and in the aftermath, destructive and harsh… but encouraging. “You will survive this. You have survived much worse with far less at your disposal.” When I would talk about hurricanes this way people would quickly become upset. They fail to see how a hurricane can be anything but terrible and I beg to differ. Storms disrupt our lives but teach us that we can rebuild. In the moment of impact, are we happy with the destruction? Absolutely not. Loss teaches us what we are capable of living with, as well as what we can live without. Storms are the immune system of the Earth, their purpose being to restore equilibrium on a large scale. Set is the storm that rends the dead bark and branches off of the Holy Sycamore. He does the same for us. By stripping away the excessive and superfluous, Set brings us closer to our inner strength and core values. I’ve often heard Set being associated with the ego but, in my experience, He takes a very active part in facilitating ego death during the Dark Night of the Soul. I’ve experienced this several times and I can safely say when all other guides have stepped away, I am still blanketed in Set’s Presence. He stands nearby, as a silent but distant sentinel. His Presence is enough to let me know I will be okay. Storms have a way of mirroring the Shadow archetype, forcing us to face our demons. We might not know when they will begin or end, but we do know that they are temporary. That disruption is sometimes exactly what we need and the more we fight it, the more we resist the growth that might lead us to the best chapter in life we’ve ever had. Experience has shown me that we can survive far more than we give ourselves credit for. Sometimes you have to Embrace Life.

It was raining outide, you were cuddled up In your favourite cozy blanket scrolling on Tiktok. The TV was on but you stopped paying attention to it an hour ago. As you scrolled through video after video, you stumbled upon a familiar face. An influencer you had been following for a while, she was known for always spilling the biggest celebrity drama and gossip. But this time, your boyfriends name appeared on the screen.

“Okay so everyone has been asking and we want to know, are Dua Lipa and Jack Harlow dating.”

Your heart skipped a beat. What? What the fuck? Dating?

You had often seen rumours about girls dating Jack but it was nothing like this, this was way more of a problem.

When Jack made the song Dua Lipa, he told you he was joking. Of course you didn’t find it funny, but you also didn’t quite always understand his humour, so you let that slide.

Deciding to look more into it, you decided to search on ‘the most reliable source’ google.

‘Jack Harlow and dua lipa dating?’

Over a hundred articles came up, again and again and again.

All the same.

This cut deep. New girlfriend? YOU were his girlfriend.

You and Jack had been dating since you were fifteen, you’ve been there for him for almost all of his rap career, and this is what happens.

To be fair, you kind of expected something like this would happen when you guys decided you were going to be private, you had to accept that this is the part of that. But this just didn’t sit right with you.

You hadn’t realised that you had been crying until you accidentally opened the camera app showing the mascara running down your face.

“Okay, Y/n, don’t think about this too much, just take a nap then everything will be good again.” You told yourself.

Jack put his keys on the table as he took off his jacket. His entrance startled you causing you to wake up.

“Y/n, where are you?”

You sighed, not really wanting him to see you right now.

“In the living room.”

Jack walked over to the kitchen, looking at his phone the whole time.

“What do you want for dinner?” He asked you still not noticing you.

Your eyes started tearing again, no wait, you started to full on cry. Jack heard your sniffs and finally looked up from his phone. He stood there, not really knowing what happened or what he did.

“Y/n? Are you okay?? Did something happen?”

You had to confront him about this.

“Jack, I won’t get mad, I just need an honest answer from you, okay?”

Jack was beginning to be nervous, he sat down as he shook his head yes.

“Are you cheating on me?”

He froze. Where did you get that from? How dare you say that?

“What are you talking about, Y/n?”

“Dua Lipa.” Was the only thing you said and Jack knew exactly why you were mad.

“You don’t actually believe that bullshit? Do you?”

“Well it’s hard not to when you made a ass whole fucking song about her, and then flirted with her at that lunch thing you had, have you realised that you haven’t even made one song about your actual girlfriend who you’ve been with for nine fucking years!” You were practically yelling at this point.

“I’ve never made one song about you? Never made one fucking song about you, Y/n, I have made so many goddamn songs about you!”

“Name one.” You blood was boiling, not only was he flirting with a girl he said that ‘ he want to do more with her than do a feature ‘ but also he was lying.

“Y/n, I don’t even know why we’re arguing about this right now.”

“Because you’re cheating!”

Now Jack was angry, he was being accused of something that he didn’t do.

“Y/n, it might look bad on social media and shit, but I can reassure you that I am not cheating on you.”

You didn’t know if you should believe him or not, he looked like he was telling the truth and you trust him but… Were you maybe jealous? Were you insecure? No, it just all felt so real. Jack was your first everything so even though you were 24, this was a first.

“I’m sorry, Jack.”

Now Jack felt bad, it wasn’t your fault that news reporters and paparazzi were pushing those thoughts in your head.

“No, Y/n I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have raised my voice at you.”

You smiled, you trusted him. If he said he wasn’t cheating, you should believe him.

“Want to cuddle and watch the office?” You asked him.

You weren’t usually the type of girl that did this but there was something about Jack that had you coming back to him time and time again. You used to blame the busy schedules you both had for the lack of title of your relationship but as the months passed; it became obvious that wasn’t the case. You should have stopped returning after that realisation but over the months, you had become friends and even if deeper feelings were rising, you weren’t going to damage that. You couldn’t.

You had just returned from London and landed in New York in the early morning; a message from Jack was already waiting for you as you moved through the traffic and listened to his new album for the first time. You were proud of him and began to send a message of congratulations when a new song began to play.

Oh, I want you to know

To know that you are really special

The words hit you for a moment and thankfully the lights turned red for you to process it. Those lyrics hit a little too close to home, you thought to yourself with a confused look. Isn’t that what Jack always said to you, that you were special? Even when you saw other girls on his arm. It took some willpower you didn’t realise you had to not message him as your own thoughts overtook you.The traffic moved on as you turned for the longer route to the hotel, wanting to keep some time to process it before meeting up with him.

Who was the main chick? You thought to yourself with a frown. All these thoughts raced through your mind as you tried to control yourself. You knew it wasn’t serious, it wasn’t a relationship. You couldn’t be upset. But you were. And how stupid of you to get this deep.

Thankfully you came to a stop outside of the hotel and the engine fell silent as did his voice. A few moments of silence passed as you chewed on your bottom lip. It was only when you heard the ring of a message did you realise the time. You didn’t bother replying before moving from the car and placing your hood up as the rain heavily fell down.

“Y/N.” Your name was called as you moved into the lounge area. Your eyes found Urban moving towards you; a new, unnamed girl at his side and it only had you wondering once more. “Hi.” You smiled as brightly as ever whilst wrapping your arms around him in a hug. “He’s upstairs.” Urban whispered before being tugged away by the girl.

You looked at the door he left out of and wondered if you could do the same. But then Urban would mention he saw you so now you had to go up.

“So happy you are here.” Jack called out as soon as you stepped into the penthouse suite. His arms wrapped around you and you nearly melted into the familiar embrace. “Me too.” You whisper and stroke his back as you stay in that position for a moment or two.“Did you like the album?” Jack couldn’t help but ask as he gently tugged you with your hand over to the selection of drinks. He poured you both a glass of champagne that you sipped to calm your nerves.

“I loved it.” And you had, for the most part. “I didn’t know you liked Dua Lipa that much.” You teased with a giggle whilst settling on the sofa; your legs crossing as you took your hoody off to show the white, silk dress hugging your curves. “Mama, looking so good.” He purred and leaned in for a passionate kiss. But you had to ruin the mood.

“Who is your side piece about?” The nerves you felt had you playing with your fingers as you tried to look up at him.

Jack’s hands moved up and down your side as a look of confusion came over you. “It’s just a song, baby.” He brushed your noses together before capturing your lips once more. “I promise,” Jack continued whilst settling you onto his lap. “Promise?” You found yourself asking as your fingers moved through his curls. “Promise.”

Eddie loved seeing Buck, stood in front of the metal barrier, stage in front of him waiting for his favourite band to take the stage his eyes lit up like a child on Christmas Day.

He wasn’t sure how he’d managed to be convinced to come tonight, he was more musically inclined towards Bon Jovi and Foreigner rather than some Gen-Z band from Italy but Buck liked them so he was here, his arms wrapped around his boyfriend as the pre concert music played, way to loud in his opinion.

“This is Dua Lipa.” Buck says, his head turned back slightly, “She’s a singer.”

Eddie was thankful that Buck had told him, he had no idea what was current or relevant in the music scene.

The sounds of drums filled Eddie’s as the band took the stage and Buck and several people around collectively, ‘lost their shit’. Eddie liked seeing Buck like this, especially after the lightning and everything that came after it, he was happy that Buck was happy.

“Thank you!” Buck shouts in his ear, his voice already horse after one song. “I appreciate you coming!”

Buck looked back at the stage before Eddie could say anything, his hips grinding slightly as the next song played, every word coming effortlessly out of his mouth as they did for the singer.

“That’s Damiano, the singer.” Buck says, his blue eyes sparkling under the lights in the arena.

Is rain prayer (dua) done so that it will rain?

Rain salah and rain dua are kinds of worshipping. Lack of rain is the time of that worshipping. That worshipping and dua are not done to bring rain. If it is done only with that intention, it will not be accepted since it is not sincere.

When the sun sets, it is the time of the evening (maghrib) prayer; solar eclipse and lunar eclipse are the time of kusuf and khusuf prayers.That is, the night and the day are veiled by divine signs, declaring the greatness of Allah; so, Allah Almighty invites His slaves to perform a kind of worshipping. That prayer is not performed so that the moon or the sun will appear again (it is definite by astronomic calculations when the eclipse will take place and how long it will last). Similarly, lack of rain is the time for rain prayer. Allah Almighty calls His slaves to perform salah and dua at that time. Lack of rain becomes the time for that worshipping. The aim of that worshipping is not rain. From this point of view, it is necessary not to see lack of rain as absolute punishment. (1)

Man, who needs rain and who is too weak to bring it, takes refuge in Allah being conscious of the fact that this need can be met only by Allah. Allah's consent is sought in the prayer of rain like all other kinds of worshipping. After worshipping, people pray to Allah in order to be relieved of the misfortune of lack of rain and ask His help.

Although the apparent outcome of the rain prayer is rain, the real and most beneficial outcome and the sweetest fruit of it as follows: Everybody understands from this situation that the one that gives their sustenance is not their father, house, shop, etc but a Being who meets their needs, gives their food, uses the big clouds like sponges and the earth like a field. Furthermore, a small child who is used to begging his mother when he is hungry will understand, with his small mind, during the prayer of rain the big meaning that a Being who manages this world like a house gives my sustenance and that of these children's and our mothers', and feeds us. If He does not give us food, others will not be of any use. Then, he thinks, we need to beg Him and becomes a fully believing child. (2)

Since lack of rain is the time of worshipping, it is necessary to continue worshipping until this time ends. That is, the time for rain prayer, which is performed at the time of lack of rain, will end when it starts to rain. Therefore, this prayer should not be abandoned after performing it once or twice; it is necessary to continue performing prayers it until it rains.

Special Times For The Acceptance of Duas

As a result of Allah’s never ending showers of mercy upon us - He has also blessed us with extra special times and days, where our duas have a very high chance of getting accepted.

1- On Fridays, during the last hour of Asr before maghrib.

Prophet Muhammad PBUH said "Friday is twelve hours in which there is no Muslim slave who asks Allah (SWT) for something but He will give it to him, so seek it in the last hour after 'Asr." (Sunan Al Nisa’i).

2- On Wednesdays between dhuhr and asr.

Jabir RA reports that: ‘Rasulullah (sallallahu ’alayhi wasallam) had made du’a to Allah in Masjidul Fath (in Madinah) on a Monday, a Tuesday and a Wednesday. His du’a was accepted between Zuhr and ‘Asr on Wednesday. He then says: ‘ Whenever I had a need, I waited for that moment on a Wednesday and made du’a. Every time I did so, I noticed my du’a being accepted” (Collected by Imam Al Bukhari).

3- Make dua in sujood.

Prophet Muhammad PBUH said “The nearest a slave can be to his Lord (Allāh) is while they are prostrating, so increase in supplication” (Muslim).

4- Make dua at the end of prayer.

Right before saying salam in prayer, after the Salah Ibrahimiyyah.

5- Make dua during the last third of the night.

Prophet Muhammad PBUH said “Our Lord, may He be blessed and exalted, comes down to the lowest heaven every night when the last third of the night is left, and He says: ‘Who will call upon Me, that I may answer him? Who will ask of Me, that I may give him? Who will ask Me for forgiveness, that I may forgive him?’” (Bukhari)

6- Make dua when it rains and when the time of prayer enters.

Prophet Muhammad PBUH said:

“Two will not be rejected, supplication when the Adhan is being called and at the time of the rain’.

7- Make dua during the days and nights of Ramadan.

Prophet Muhammad PBUH said “’When Ramadan comes, the Doors of Mercy (another narration says Paradise) are opened, and the doors of Hell are closed, and the Shaitans are locked up’ (Bukhari) .

8- Make dua when you travel.

Abu Huraira ra narrates that the Prophet PBUH said Three supplications are answered, there being no doubt about them; that of a father, that of a traveller and that of one who has been wronged. (Sunan Abu Dawud).
