Obsessed with characters who portray themselves as worse than they are. Who are lying to everyone including themselves about it. People generally assume if someone's lying about themselves they're trying to look better but sometimes they're trying to look worse. They attribute agency to where they had none, add intend to accidents, try to convince everyone that this is something they did instead of something that happened to them.

I’m glad with the art and for the amount of pages I made in such a relatively short time span -w- page 5 was super fun to work on. It's good and cool to give your characters a single simple, straightforward, non-urgent, super-achievable goal that shouldn't really cost anything or hurt anyone, make that the driving factor for most of their decisions, and then have the Plot do everything in its power to stop them.

#writing #the two variations are:#character wants to do the thing but to do that they need this guys approval so they have to do him a favor and for the favor they have to g #(cue chain of deals)#(by the end of it youre overthrowing governments and inheriting wizard magic and marrying dragons or whatever)#(you just wanted to fix your niece's teddy bear)#and #youre trying to do this thing but on the way you ran into a person who needs help and it wont take that long #its not like your thing is urgent youll just do this one thing and move on #(this happens 87 more times)#(you also end up overthrowing the government and becoming a wizard)

I’m thinking and I honestly kinda love what they did with Ambrosius’ first impression. He really does seem like a kind of stereotypical stuck up jock jerk, mostly because that’s the cliche when characters are literally endorsing sports drinks. We see him and think oh, the golden boy. AND especially since he was introduced right after Ballister, the underdog.

But then the next scene we see him be GOOFY, he’s impersonating the news reporters and trying to make his friend laugh and feel better. And then you’d think oh, he’s actually not a bad guy, he’s silly!

But right after that you see the SOFTER side of him, where he completely melts and says “they’re gonna love you. Like I do” and it’s like oh. He’s so SWEET.

And we keep getting that side, when he’s helping his BOYFRIEND with his armor, where he gets super overprotective of Bal, when he winks and does his WOO and we see him from Bal’s eyes, and he looks so FOND, and when he cheers for Bal with such fierce pride and it’s just !!

It also just brings up his persona/how he acts in public vs in private with people he TRUSTS (get it haha trust)

i will never forgive popular UT fanon for using chara as a scapegoat in the genocide run and making "sans recognizes them and attacks them on sight regardless of what run they're in" headcanons so pervasive.

mostly because "restless spirit of a long dead child who's obsessed with the concept of cosmic retribution and facing consequences for your actions" + "guy whose job is just that but he treats it on par with his hot dog sidegig" is potentially one of the most hysterical dynamics you could come up with
