Zach Sanders and Ashton Ryder made a perilous trip to the Korean ship that brought the virus to New York City. There, they found tests and information that were then brough back to the building. After conferring with Mr. Wexley and his son, a meeting was called for all building residents in the Wexley's penthouse ballroom.

Upon arrival, Mr. Wexley, Tobias Jr, Valerie Chen, Zach Sanders and Ashton Ryder are all standing at the head of the ballroom, a table with bottles of water to one side just as it had been during The vote. Hands raising to calm the din of countless conversations once everyone had arrived, Mr. Wexley stepped forward to make his announcement.

"My fellow residents, there has been some new information brought to our attention, and it will affect each and every one of you. Mr. Sanders and Mr. Ryder here took it upon themselves to explore the ship that was towed into the harbor, and there they found some very interesting information. It seems that Korea had created tests for immunity to the disease that has destroyed our city. From what we understand in the papers also collected along with the test kits, they test for full immunity, delayed immunity, and no immunity at all."

As a few nurses in the crowd raised their hands and were brought forward, they were lead back into the ballroom kitchens to wash their hands in preparation to draw blood. While they were gone, folding tables were brought out and set up with the tests, the strips used with them, needles to puncture fingers, boxes of latex gloves and small bandages and cotton balls for afterward. "Please line up at the tables in two single file lines each, and we'll get through this as quickly as possible. Fell free to take your leaves once the tests are taken. May 28- Himeji-jo

This day was genuinely one of the worst days of my life. It started off alright with me making eggs again and walking over the the morning lecture. It was raining but it wasn’t too too bad yet. We then travelled to Himeji which was a long trip but not too bad because we got seats on the subway and just got to relax. Upon getting to the station, we got lunch right away and then I got sauce all over my white long sleeve so we ran into H&M and I got a cheap top and sweater that did the trick. It was colder than I expected due to the rain and as soon as we walked outside it all went downhill from there. The rain was coming down on us so hard, and we had a 20 minute walk to the castle. The wind was blowing so hard and the puddles on the ground were not helping. My leather shoes were not keeping any water out and so my feet were quite literally swimming in my shoes by the time we got to the castle. My uniqlo bag was drenched and I was so concerned for my camera and passport but decided that ignorance was bliss so I didn’t even bother checking on them. My umbrella flipped inside out twice on the way. It felt like I was on a comedy show once we got there because we were all absolutely dying laughing at how unreal this experience was. Skyler’s umbrella got completely destroyed (pictures below) which sent me into orbit. We slowly made our way to the entrance of the castle and by this point my jeans were entirely soaked. It felt like both of my legs gained 20 pounds from how heavy my jeans became with water. We eventually made it inside of the castle after a long journey there, and taking off my soaking shoes was the worst experience as I then had to walk in wet socks inside. I couldn’t feel my feet because they were so cold. I just got over sickness too and today is the first day I felt 100%. Tomorrow I guarantee you I will wake up with another cold as will you the rest of us. After trudging up the steepest stairs on the planet we reached the top of the castle and then came right down. That was quite literally the whole experience, in addition to seeing the famous well where you can supposedly hear the woman counting plates. All I heard was pouring rain crashing down. That was the end of our day’s excursions. Then we trudged 20 minutes back to the station and got 7/11 snacks. We’ve all decided we’re coming back to Florida with diabetes but I want to enjoy the last few days here to the fullest and not diet myself and make myself miserable. So once I come home I will be going on a no-sugar diet. We’re now on the train home, drenched and cold. Ryder and I are watching funny Instagram reels to make ourselves feel better. The plan is to get massages later, or take long, hot baths to heat ourselves up. Today sucked, and none of us understand why we couldn’t have cancelled the day due to the awful weather. It felt like a day wasted. Never ever again. Ryder, Maddie, and I were supposed to go to Hiroshima after this but obviously we didn’t want to after we ended up in the state we are currently in. Hopefully it works out on our last free day!

Academic Reflection

Today’s readings focused on castles and Himeji-jo castle in particularly. In class, we discussed how important castle towns were to the development of Japan and how it significantly increased the population and led to economic growth in the 1600s. It was very interesting to see how different the old architecture and styler of the castle contrasted the surrounding city, or even train station as we didn’t really explore the city at all. I also learned how the daimyo systemically planned executed the castle towns for the sole purpose of expanding growth, and it was no accident. It’s cool to see how in different countries there are different methods for economic growth as in America castle towns is not the case.

I also found it enlightening when I learned about the slanting of the castles walls inward in order to distribute weight more evenly. This resulted in the castle having a very distinct and almost pointy look to it. I was really trying my best to appreciate the castle while we were inside but it was just so hard to as we were all so miserable and cold.

But I'm still going with him regardless though, he loves when he gets the chance to do it (drives are coincidentally almost always on work days for him lol) and I fucking love that.

Who was the last person to sit on your bed? Me, I still do certain physical therapy exercises lying and sitting on it.

Would you rather be stuck on a desert island with your ex or a python? HA give me the fucking python, at least the snake won't make me feel like literal trash. Besides, a python is not going to be able to eat me and with that fact it'd have no interest in bothering me, and I'd leave it alone too. Don't villainize snakes.

What's the worst thing you've gone through in the past year? Letting go of and healing from an extremely rotten friendship. Deciding enough was enough with Sara was so fucking not an easy decision, it was fucking excruciating and involved so much hurt, and I regularly questioned if I was a horrible person.

What's the next friend or family birthday coming up? Will you buy them a present? Literally tomorrow is my sister Ashley's 30th, and no, but only because I don't have a source of income. I can't get anything for family and it fucking sucks.

How many beds are in your home? Two in the traditional sense, however we do have a couch that can fold out into a bed. Not a very comfortable one, but it's a bed.

I no longer do, not because I don't believe in the effectiveness of masks (because they fucking are effective), but because I think like most people, I've just given up on the concept of us ever getting Covid under control; it's going to be in the human population for probably as long as we live now. What was the last thing that changed your life completely? Going to physical therapy. I am so fucking happy with all the progress that is still happening, standing is by now generally only uncomfortable versus actually painful. I'm standing more in real-life situations that prove to me how much better my legs have gotten.

What does your best friend love that you hate? Extremely hard games that generally require hours and hours of failing regularly to get good at it, nameably FromSoft games; I'm quite sure Girt's platinumed/100%ed all of them lmao, meanwhile I couldn't even get to the FIRST BOSS of Bloodborne myself haha, I suck at those games SOOOOOOOOOOO bad. My head nearly exploded when I tried Dark Souls, like I quit pretty damn fast because once a game reaches a certain level of difficulty for me, shit's not fun anymore. Meanwhile Girt's hardheaded as HELL and really gets satisfaction out of figuring out challenges, so FromSoft makes some stuff he really enjoys. What sucks is I LOVE watching the games be played, like Elden Ring is one of the greatest video games ever made in all of history imo, I just don't have the patience for those of its sort as a player. Video games are Girt's "thing" though that he's just super fucking good at.

How well do you know the people you live with? I know my mom very well, and we've been closer than ever lately. I feel our already-strong bond has strengthened quite a bit just from sitting out in the living room with her during dinner more often. She confides in me with a lot of things and has told me how much she appreciates me just listening.

When was the last time you had a conversation with an ex? A few weeks ago with Juan, if you even wanna count him as an ex when we dated for less than a day.

Ever cried while you were on the phone with the last person you kissed? No, we basically never call each other. He's mentioned wanting to but knows I hate phone calls and I'm like you're obviously an exception dude but yeah we don't really talk-talk via the phone.

Have you ever bought a YouTuber’s merch? I have two Cloak shirts, a brand owned by Markiplier and jacksepticeye, and one features the Randler and cockatrice used as symbols for Good Mythical Morning/Rhett & Link.

Do either of your parents have tattoos? No, but my mom wants one based around her kids and grandkids.

For your birthday do people buy you a cake or bake you one? Usually buy.

If your boy/girlfriend wanted to have a sex change, would you support them? Sure would, I'm pansexual anyway so it wouldn't remove my sexual feelings for that person. Like sure it'd obviously be a massive change, requiring adjustments like getting pronouns right, but he/she would have my full support if they felt a sex change would improve their happiness.

What do you think of cannibals? It's gross. I think eating your own species, at least for such developed animals like humans who have consciences that allow us to put meaning into BEING a human, is morally questionable.

Story Summary:

Ryder thought she was waking up on Andromeda the first time, but this wasn't the case. People speak of a Ryder, of things she did in Andromeda that she doesn't remember. She feels uncomfortable in her own skin, and then there is an alien that says he loves her and wants to be there for her but she doesn't know him. And it's her job to find herself again. But can she do it?

Sanrelia was still very unhappy in her situation. Even though the thought of being charged with treason scared her a lot in the back of her mind she was still considering it.

She wasn’t the only medical personnel that felt the way she did.

Not everyone in the facility knew that Amber Ryder was there but everyone on her floor did. And like she, many were unhappy about it.

After a couple of days Sanrelia hanged out with some at lunch. Unlike she, all the others vented about the Pathfinder. Sanrelia just kept to herself. She thought that might be best.

I’m so excited about this!!!

When I first started looking for fanfiction with type 1 diabetes in it, I was pretty disheartened to find several hundred fics—each and every one having a high chance of being tagged incorrectly by people trying to be funny instead of accurate.

I knew I would eventually wade through every one to find what I could, and I made the T1D in Fandom AO3 collection to easily mark the ones that actually had diabetes.

I’m nowhere near done 😰 but I’ve managed to find one hundred and one fics so far that really do have t1d in them, or a very select few without that show low/high blood glucose well enough to respect.

The statistics of what we’ve got to offer readers so far:

Hi bestie :))) Thanks for the ask <3 Here's a one-shot in which Ryder has appendicitis.

It was a peaceful Saturday morning. Bianca and Jasmine were sitting on the couch eating blueberry pancakes drowned in maple syrup or diabetes breakfast as Nico called it before eating some himself.

“He still isn’t up?” Jasmine asked as she noticed that there were no signs that her brother was awake.

“Not everyone is an early bird, Jaz. Some people sleep until 11.” Bianca explained.

“Thank Gods, we’re the good kind.”

“I’m here, stop complaining,” Ryder said and planted himself on the couch.

Will noticed that his son was looking a bit too tired for someone who woke up from 12 hours of sleep. “Are you all right?”

“Yes, I’m fine. I have practice in 30 minutes.” He added.

Will was sure that Ryder was lying and that he was actually sick but didn’t want to miss his practice. “So you aren’t feeling dizzy or anything?”

Ryder thought his answer twice before replying. “No?”

“Yeah, no.” Bianca put her hand on his forehead. Then she turned to her parents. “He’s burning up.”

“Oh come on, couldn’t you be nice for once?”

“If you’re sick and I get whatever you have and then destroy my perfect attendance I’ll be anything but nice.” She warned him.

“Are you feeling anything else? You might have something else.” Will getting closer to him while thinking other two thousand things that he could have.

“I may feel a tiny bit of pain here.” He said cautiously and put his hand on his right abdomen, without touching his skin.

“How tiny bit of pain? If I touch you there how bad is the pain?”

Ryder closed his eyes from the pain. “Okay, it’s very bad. Like a 10 or something.”

“You have appendicitis,” Will said with confidence and left the room. “We need to go to the hospital.”

“That’s going to be awesome,” Bianca told.

“Bee, come on.”

“I’m still going to Lizzie, right?” Jasmine asked as she was going to spend the whole day with her best friend.

“Yes, sure. Are you going to Zoe’s?” Nico asked Bianca.

“No way I’m missing my brother’s appendix’s removal.”

Ryder rolled his eyes as Bianca was full of it.

Within the next 10 minutes, they managed to get to the hospital.

“You know that you’re going to die, right?” Bianca said dead serious while she was texting from the corner of the room.

“What?” Ryder tried to sit up, but he winced in pain and lays back down.

“She’s kidding. It’s a routine surgery even I know it.” Nico comforted him and glanced over to his eldest daughter.

“Oh please, you’re married to dad. You know more stuff than some actual doctors.” Bianca replied still not even lifting her head from the phone. Ryder threw a pillow at her. “Hey!”

“I’m supposedly dying, and you are sitting over there like nothing is happening? Your thoughtfulness blinds me.” Ryder said.

“Nobody is dying,” Will exclaimed. He knew that it was just another dramatic shenanigans of his kids, but it wasn’t hurting anyone saying it out loud.

“It’s actually the appendix that is blinding you,” Bianca added. Nico stared at her with a seriously now look. “What? It’s actually one of the symptoms. Dizziness and Nausea. Dizziness causes limited blindness as everything is spinning, am I wrong?”

“You actually have a point,” Will said.

“It was better when you weren’t talking.” Ryder glared at her.

Bianca got bored so Nico drove her back home. Someone handed Will a coffee. “How is he doing?”

“They’re almost finished.”

“You know that he got that from you?” Nico confessed to his husband.

“What? The appendix?” Will joked.

“Very funny. Trying to work through the pain and the sickness.”

“I never get sick.”

Nico raised his eyebrow. “That’s what I’m talking about. You pretend that you don’t get sick so that I don’t worry about you.”

The Disney version of "Pretty Pretty Princess" w/ my niece and even my nephew, even though his sexist-ass dad didn't want him to. Like let your kid have some fun with his sister and aunt, goddamn. They had a blast. It was Aubree's birthday present from me, so I am SO glad she loved it. Did you win? Ha ha, no, I always let Aubree or Ryder win. I came super close once, but I let the kids bend the rules a bit. They don't like losing, and even though they definitely need to understand that just happens and is totally fine for it to, I wasn't about to be the one to make them sad about it. When was the last time you tried to speak with an accent? OH MY LAAAAAWWWWWWD. Also at Aubree's b-day party, at one point, I spoke in a snobbish British accent while I was winning at the aforementioned game. Ryder asked, "Why are you speaking Spanish?", and I fuckin DIED. Have you ever made up a word before? Yeah, I know at least a few instances for fantasy animals in writing. When was the last time you went to a museum? A couple summers ago when my brother and his son visited, we went to a science museum. My nephew was sooooo into it. Do you have a nice yard? If so, do you spend a lot of time outside in it? If not, where do you go when you want to relax outdoors on nice days? Our front and back yards are both small and honestly very boring. The grass is a pretty green, but that's the only nice thing about it. I don't go to sit outside here on any day. Do your parents enjoy any of the things that you enjoy? Do you bond over these things? My parents and I have very similar music tastes, so there's that. I also didn't know for the longest time that Mom likes to write, which I sure as hell do, too! She doesn't really write anymore though, and she's self-conscious of it anyway, like I am. She and I also love a lot of the same shows. What is the movie that you have waited the longest for/which film do you remember anticipating the most/are still anticipating? I think The Incredibles 2. I aaaalways wanted to know what happened after the end of the first film. Do you have any ideas for a story or movie you’re planning to write or you’d write if you had the time/had the talent? Please share a synopsis! I genuinely think some RP I've written is series-worthy, but I don't feel like re-writing the YEARS of RP into a book format, and I sincerely worry that the ridiculously dark parts could inspire people like serial killers and cause A LOT of controversy, crime-blaming, and just general hate. I don't want to be involved in that. What is something that an interested guy/girl could comment about you, that would make you instantly open to them (e.g., “That book you’re reading is from my favorite author”)? Compliment my Markiplier tattoo, obviously knowing it's a tribute to him, and we're essentially besties. Is there a person in your life (maybe barely) that you feel in constant competition with (even just in your imagination)? Maybe you feel they are consistently outshining you? Ugh... there's a local photographer that's much more successful than I am that I admittedly am very envious of. She's talented, yes, but like... come on. I miss cuddling, holding hands, kissing, just being cute together, and especially people getting engaged or having kids. It's such a trigger to me. Once upon a time, that's all I wanted with Jason. I wanted to be that beautiful couple that got married and had two or three loved-beyond-words children, but then he left so abruptly, and I feel like it was so brutally robbed from me. I don't want kids anymore like at all, but the point still stands that I felt like my dreams were just ripped away. Out of all your usernames for websites, which one is your favorite?
