Animal of the Day!

Commerson’s Dolphin (Cephalorhynchus commersonii)

Conservation Status- Least Concern

Habitat- Coastal tip of South America

Size (Weight/Length)- 1.5 m

Diet- Small fish; Shrimp; Marine worms; Squid; Seaweed

Cool Facts- The Commerson’s dolphin might look like a tiny orca but are similarly intelligent despite their size. They are very quick swimmers, capable of speeds up to 13 kilometers per hour, constantly leaping out from the ocean’s surface. Closer to the shore, Commerson’s dolphins will ride the waves as they search for prey. Some dolphins have been recorded to swim upside-down, possibly helping them to get a better view of the squid or fish they hunt. During the breeding season, they gather in pods of up to 100 individuals. When Commerson’s dolphins are first born, they’re completely gray and only gain their oreo coloration when they get older.

Rating- 12/10 (A single dolphin was spotted off the coast of South Africa in 2004.)

James’s phone alerted him to a new message. He looked down at the illuminated screen ‘New Match.’ The dating app notification read. He opened the app and scanned the message.

Congratulations Hotterthanthesun, Princeofstars has matched with you.

He clicked on the link to see his profile page. No pictures of his face. Just a rather artsy one of long, elegant fingers wrapped around the stem of a crystal wine glass filled with red wine. It made the fingers look ghostly pale, making the emerald ring wrapped around his index finger pop.

James sent a quick message.

He barely had to wait before he received another message.

They’d both agreed they quite liked the mystery of not seeing each other's faces so they didn’t share them. James was having a good time. Whoever this faceless prince was he and James seemed to fit together.

“Oh, Reggie’s popping in later,” Sirius said as he poured them both drinks. “Took a lot to get him to agree mind. He’s still being a little shit. But at least this is progress.” James caught the happy little smile Sirius tried to hide. He knew how much Sirius missed his brother.

The doorbell rang and Sirius leapt out of his chair, furiously smoothing his hair as he rushed to open the door.

“Hi, Reggie.” James could hear the joy in Sirius’s voice.

“Don’t call me that, Sirius.” And the disdain in Regulus’s.

“Sorry,” Sirius said trying to appease him. “Drink?”

“Red wine if you have it.” Regulus sauntered past his brother and fluidly folded himself into the chair Sirius had just abandoned.

“Potter.” He reluctantly acknowledged James.

“Regulus.” Sirius was right he was definitely still a little shit. Sirius hurriedly gave his brother a glass of red.

“It’s not the best, but it has a fantastic tartness to it.” Regulus nodded, took a sip and grimaced. He put the glass down on the table next to his chair.

James went cold with shock. He recognised those long elegant fingers and that emerald ring

“Fuck.”

Two wealthy ladies visit a poor woman who is sick in bed. One of them dresses the poor girl. The ladies are dressed in dresses and coats from Flardy. Print from the fashion magazine La Mode Illustrée (1860-1937).

Description de toilettes:

Costume en velours anglais vert foncé, composé d'une jupe bordée d'une bande de fourrure, d'une seconde jupe pareille (plus courte) non relevée, garnie de même, et d'un paletot large pareil aux jupes et garni de la même fourrure; les manches de ce paletot son larges.

Jeune fille de seize ans. Robe en velours anglais, à côtés, gris havane. Cette robe est garnie de deux biais en velours de même teinte, mais uni, bordés de chaque côté d'un gros liséré en taffetas. Cette robe, demi-longue, est relevée sous chaque bras, et au milieu par derrière, sur un jupon de tartan à carreaux bruns et blancs. Corsage-casaque de même étoffe que la robe, garni de même (avec une bande de velours uni), et d'une grosse frange en chenille de même teinte. Chapeau rond en feutre gris avec une grande plume grise. En guise de manteau, un waterproof gros-bleu, à grande pèlerine.

Young girl of sixteen. Dress in English velvet, with sides, havana gray. This dress is trimmed with two velvet bias bindings of the same shade, but plain, bordered on each side with a large taffeta border. This half-length dress is pulled up under each arm, and in the middle at the back, over a brown and white checkered tartan petticoat. Bodice-jacket of the same fabric as the dress, trimmed in the same way (with a strip of plain velvet), and with a large chenille fringe of the same shade. Round gray felt hat with a large gray feather. As a coat, a waterproof gros-blue, with a large cape.
