Short Thoughts about 1941:

Aziraphale has always loved Crowley in some way. Many different ways throughout time in fact. We know this. It ooozes off of him, growing over time of course.

But what if, in 1941, when Crowley saves the books as well as him. An attention so personal, completely unnecessary to the general 'being a demon but can't help doing good' thing that.

Maybe that's when he realises Crowley loves him back

And also that he can trust this demon. HIS demon. With anything. Even his own life (well his earthly body anyway, ahem...)

Astro observation . . . TWO!!

Whenever I see someone has a prominent Scorpio or Capricorn placement I always notice and see how sweet and overlay considerate they are. These people I’ve noticed are very helpful and there for people, sometimes they don’t think about themselves that much and contain themselves too much. They also are like nonchalantly funny? It’s not hard for them to make me laugh I’ve noticed.

But yeah strong Capricorn and Scorpio placements remind me of the giving tree idkkk

Like also Capricorn’s and Cancers be goofy as shit im crine😭

WHEW. This is from my experience but when I have seen a fair amount of Virgo or Cancer influences in somebody chart THEY ALWAYS GET ON MY NERVES LIKE GIRL DON'T DO ME LEAVE ME ALONE😭 I swear I have always had little moments with them- they can be quite annoying but guess what. I often spend so much time with them and we are right back on track maybe two seconds later it’s so funny. We switch up so much it funny. And this is funny because well I am a cancer myself and well there are more than three cancers in my family who I adore. You guys are really aggravating though.

• The Story Thus Far:

I review 'Doctor Who: Series 1 (2005)' -- or where all this modern shit got started -- whilst I developed an UNHEALTHY obsession with this godforsaken show.

Like, yea, I saw some episodes from Classic Who on public access television as a young fart, prior; and, unfortunately, already had watched the finale to Series 2 by the time I decided to start at the beginning.

Let's just do this fer continuities sake!

• All the Good Shit and There's a Lot of It:

Firstly, two words: Christopher Eccleston. It's a shame that he only had the one season (and then was followed by David Tennant's Tenth Doctor. Which, let's face it, took the ball -- AND RAN WITH IT).

Either way, not enough can be said about how legit he is as the Doctor. Funny, intense, caring, blah, blah, blah -- you get it, he does it all.

Then there's Rose. In retrospect, I don't think she, or Billie Piper fer that matter, gets enough credit. She's super dope as a chav-esque character -- who shows so much growth as the series progresses. Really good chemistry with Eccleston. That scene in 'The Unquiet Dead' in which Nine tells her she looks "beautiful"? Fantastic (pun intended). Especially when he follows it with that whole, "for a human" line. Genius shit.

Let's not forget her relationship with Noel Clarke's Mickie Smith. (Like, I could totally see those two dating.)

John Barrowman, tho', as Captain Jack zee roguish swashbuckling time agent!? Perfection.

Biggest highlights fer me have to be 'Rose', 'The End of the World', 'Dalek' (this story NEVER gets old) and 'Fathers Day'. I don't think 'Boom Town' gets enough credit, too.

Like, yea, 'Aliens of London'/'World War 3' kinda suck -- and the Slitheen are super corny; but, 'Boom Town' is such a nice and personal story. That restaurant scene is so legit and I almost actually feel bad fer Margaret as the story unfolds.

Then it goes ahead and leads into, which I'll be as so bold to say, one of the best series finales AND regeneration stories ever: 'Badwolf' and 'The Parting of the Ways'. Just pure epic balls to the wall science fiction. Dalek fleets! The Doctor with his back against the wall and EVERYTHING stacked against him!? Russell T Davies really outdid himself.

Like, c'mon, Lynda (with a y's) death!? That one dude asking out a girl before taking on an army of Daleks KNOWING THEY'RE GOING TO PRO'LY DIE? Patterson Joseph being a coward (always wanted to see him take a shot AS the Doctor)? The Doctor tricking Rose into going back home and leaves her alone with the TARDIS!? OR HIS REGENERATION GOODBYE TO HER!? Fuck. 😭

I cry -- everytime.

• The Stuff That's Basically Just There 'Cause Let's Face it -- This Series is Perfect:

'Unquiet Dead' is a decent story. The Slitheen two parter is just pure B movie cornyness. Like, I love farts -- but those episodes could've ruined them fer me. 'The Long Game' is alright, as well (it's mostly just there to remind us of what a piece of shit Adam is).

HOWEVER, this one is gonna be controversial: I think 'The Empty Child'/'The Doctor Dances' are SO FUCKING OVERRATED. I'm not saying they're terrible. FAR FROM IT. I mean, the episodes give us Captain Jack -- and I'll take them over ANYTHING in series 11 or 12.

They're just alright, tho'.

I don't get it.

Lastly, I always wished they wouldn't have killed off Clive in that first episode. Like, he would've been a cool comeback character/one time companion. That might just be me, tho'.

(Like, I, also, feel that way about Will Sasso's character from the TV Movie.)

• The Point in Which Yer Almost Done Reading This Rambling:

It's not debatable and/or even subjective: Series 1 of Doctor Who is A CLASSIC.

SURE some of the jokes don't land and some of the effects are dated (I mean, DW has never been known to be the pinnacle of special effects); but EVERYTHING ELSE just meshes -- SO WELL. Great fun time and space traveling entertainment.

I revisit it all the time. So should you! (Yer pro'ly still under quarantine -- so do it. You can go ahead and skip that second season of 'The Umbrella Academy' while yer at it. Snoozefest 2020, yo.)

I'd give it four out of four stars -- but that wouldn't do it enough justice. Give it all the stars in the universe.

Ps. Cant wait to see what Eccleston does over in BigFinish! Woot.

China: quite short and thin but wayy more muscly than Japan. Still quite slim though. It’s an aesthetic. He has small muscles but is probably one of the strongest in the show. Very defined figure

Iceland: He’s a baby y’all. I’m crying. He’s soft as heck. Small too. He’s just everything he has pudgy thighs and a squishy tummy and a round face and it’s SO cute he gets flustered when you poke him (pls poke him)

Finland: *clears throat* I LOVE MY CANON CHUBBY BOY. He is soft ALL over. A clear rounded stomach and a small double chin and squishy hands. He’s so short and huggable and PERFECT for winter

Sweden: He is shaped like...like a best friend. He actually has a beautiful body. He’s so tall and well-defined. Slightly less muscle than Denmark but it’s still clearly visible especially in his abs. He looks like he could bench press you and tbh he probs could. 10/10 for being the best.

@pomegranate-belle tagged me in Top 7 Comfort Movies and I am stalling starting my laundry so here we go!! (in sort of chronological order)

1. Beetlejuice (1988): This movie is a fucking classic. Michael Keaton is a comedic genius and apparently (according to my mom) 3yo me had a huge crush on him. Also Geena Davis??? Winona Ryder??? Yum??? The worldbuilding and character design is so imaginative and interesting.

2. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989): Grew up jumping off the swings singing the Indy theme song. Momma was a huge Harrison Ford fan so we watched all of his movies but the one I know practically line for line is Last Crusade. I love John Rhys Davies as Sallah ("Please, what is it always this 'junior?!'") I love Sean Connery as Senior ("I suddenly remembered my Charlemagne! 'Might my armies be the rocks and the trees, and the birds in the sky!'") I love the whole daddy issues thing, I love punching Nazis, I love a scientist who has room for magic.

3. The Princess Bride (1987): It's funny, it's beautiful, I know all the words. Like when I say beautiful I mean the story but also the set design and the cinematography. (How is Robin Wright's hair so perfectly fantasy maidenesque?! How!?!) There's revenge and true love and magic and Mandy Patinkin as his absolute sexiest and Cary Elwes at his loveliest and Andre the Giant! and Robin goddamn Wright! This was my sicky movie when I was little.

4. Beauty and the Beast (1991): PERFECT MOVIE. Almost. The fact she never says his name bugs the hell out of me and has for thirty years. But my GOD. It's so beautiful. Cut my veins open, this color palette comes pouring out. (Blue and gold are still my favorite colors to this day, especially together.) It's the ultimate story of realising you are a shithead and changing bc someone makes you want to be a better person. The animation, the performances, the music (RIP Howard Ashman you absolute legend)

5. True Grit (1969): of course there's a fucking Western on here. I love the Duke. We probably wouldn't have got on well irl but as Rooster Cogburn, in this movie, I love him. He's flawed but strives for heroism, he's snarky but caring. Mattie Ross is boss. And Robert Duvall! That last gunfight scene where Rooster takes on four guys with the reins in his mouth and guns in each hand still gets me amped up and I've seen it dozens of times.

6. The Avengers (2012): In 2002 when Sam Raimi's Spiderman came out, I remember turning to my brother and waxing poetic about how cool it would be to see a team-up movie, like how they did in the 90s cartoons. "They never will tho. It'll cost too much." Literally only ten years later I was sitting in a cinema watching one of the best superhero movies ever put to film. I love The Avengers. When it came out on DVD it never left the player for about six months. For over a year it was all I talked about. It's Joss Whedon at his best, juggling an ensemble cast, and the actors all know their shit, or in the case of Mark Ruffalo, just embody their characters so perfectly as to be indistinguishable from them. Its been almost 10 years since this movie came out and I still get emotional about it. I waited my whole life for it and it was exactly what I dreamed.

7. IT (2017): Sometimes you don't know you need something. Sometimes a movie comes out of the blue and you watch it bc its your kind of thing but you dont realise how much you will love it. That was IT for me. I love horror stories. Always have. My childhood was spent staring at the various covers of my momma's Stephen King collection. (Like, I don't actually remember seeing Jaws or Aliens bc I was too young.) I knew I was gonna see IT based on that alone. But IT isn't a horror movie for me. (Even though of the two, it is certainly the scarier.) It's a coming of age movie with possibly my favorite cast of anything since David Tennant and Catherine Tate were on Doctor Who in 2008. I love the Losers. I love the imagery (v different from the book but still feels like theyre in the same universe) I love the music. I love the goddamn space clown from hell. But mostly I love those kids.

(Honorable mentions: Mad Max Fury Road, Lonesome Dove, and Back to the Future. Like... If I was on a desert island and only could have seven, it would be a goddamn struggle, fam.)

So the David Tennant thing...

I was not a fan

I've been aware of him since I started this blog and probably before because DW fans and the whole superwholock mess

So I was aware that this guy with the brown hair was the doctor and everybody loves dw so they loved him

Now that I don't see him as the doctor/Ten. I see him as Crowley, obviously

But watching Good Omens videos eventually gets you suggestions like "Michael Sheen as that sexy werewolf" or "Ten's regeneration"

And I did the mistake of watching that last one

And I might watch all of DW now because

But I kept on watching stuff of David's interviews &the common thing that I got from them is that apparently, when he played Ten the world went nuts and fell in love and he was kinda like THE hot guy of Europe at the time

And idk where I was going with this I just...

idk feels like age is doing a fine job with him?

It might be my particular type or something because I think he looks better now, the beard suits him very well. The whole "on process" beard is beautiful on him.

There also has to be a large bay window with a seat, two floor to ceiling bookcases on either side.
