Short Thoughts about 1941:
Aziraphale has always loved Crowley in some way. Many different ways throughout time in fact. We know this. It ooozes off of him, growing over time of course.
But what if, in 1941, when Crowley saves the books as well as him. An attention so personal, completely unnecessary to the general 'being a demon but can't help doing good' thing that.
Maybe that's when he realises Crowley loves him back
And also that he can trust this demon. HIS demon. With anything. Even his own life (well his earthly body anyway, ahem...)

Today
I would go to the cloisters
I'd take my cats
Kairos and Vesta
my dogs
Strelka and Onyx
I would show them the unicorn
then the herbal garden
we would eat sandwiches
watch butterflies
my dead chihuahuas
Grubdog and Gater
would stop by
arm in arm
they admire the lavender and light
a beam of sun
warms their fur
yes we talk of the good ol days but mostly
of the moment
we are drunk on the now
nowhere else to be
just us
enjoying an afternoon out

The Power of Forgiveness
Insights from Matthew 6:14-15 In delving into the profound teachings of Matthew 6:14-15, it’s crucial to understand the historical backdrop against which Jesus spoke these words. This passage is nestled within the larger context of the Sermon on the Mount, a seminal moment in Jesus’ ministry where he imparted essential principles of Kingdom living to his disciples and the crowd gathered before…

The Book of Proverbs invites us to reflect on what men should seek as the most valuable thing in life. And the important thing the Bible teaches men with its wisdom is to find the truth behind appearances, because riches are presented as the most desirable but it is not like that, that is why the Book of Proverbs leaves us a wise thought: "For riches do not endure forever, and a crown is not secure for all generations" Proverbs 27:24. Riches and power are deceptive goods and blessedness does not belong to those who place their hope in these goods. And the Bible gives us countless stories about this truth. The Bible tells us how Belshazzar, tyrant of Babylon and successor of Nebuchadnezzar, mocked the God of Israel, and this King had a vision that filled him with fear and he called the prophet Daniel for its interpretation; Daniel, inspired by God, gave it to him, and the same night he received the interpretation, the Bible tells us that this tyrant was murdered. Despite his power and his royal investiture, all this was of little value to him, Belshazzar lived like a fool. Also Antiochus IV Epiphanes, a bitter enemy of the Jews who compelled his subdits to worship him as a God, had a tragic death according to the Bible. No matter how much money and power men have, they are not exempt from the ethical laws of the universe; these powerful men reaped what they sowed and were unfortunate. The true blessedness of man is in the search for wisdom, because it is from her that all other goods come. And an example of this was King Solomon, who as he grew in wisdom, God filled him with glory and riches. The Bible seeks with the instruction that man frees himself from ignorance and finds the ways of God through the reflection of its texts, but ultimately there is also the freedom of man that tells him which path to choose.

For some reason, the most vocal Christians among us never mention the Beatitudes (Matthew 5). But, often with tears in their eyes, they demand that the Ten Commandments be posted in public buildings. And of course, that's Moses, not Jesus. I haven't heard one of them demand that the Sermon on the Mount, the Beatitudes, be posted anywhere. 'Blessed are the merciful' in a courtroom? 'Blessed are the peacemakers' in the Pentagon? Give me a break!
—Kurt Vonnegut, A Man Without a Country (2005). He's talking about you, Mike Johnson.

We saw Laurie Anderson last night..
as animated letters fell from the sky like snow
and the shadow of her hand
pointed the way
I felt tears well in my heart
we are the fortunate ones
who get to hear such an epic story teller.. tell
how many times
has Big Science played for me
as I worked late nights
long days
how many times did that album hold my hand
as my hands made
when I got home I made cloud noodles with butter and ate them in bed next to Joe
He said he would tell my stories too if I died before him
is our love like Laurie & Lou
seems so
feels right
I fall asleep
full belly
full bed
surrounded by the force of pure creative love
in the morning I wake up and buy Captain Beefhearts Trout Mask Replica on vinyl
whats a home without that record in house
somehow I think both Laurie and Lou Reed would agree

Practicing Radical Love
Exploring Matthew 5:38-42 in Scripture and Modern Culture The exegetical idea of Matthew 5:38-42, which emphasizes responding to evil with love and nonviolent resistance, finds resonance throughout the Scriptures. In the Old Testament, we see glimpses of this principle in passages such as Proverbs 25:21-22, which exhorts us to overcome evil with good. Similarly, the life and teachings of Jesus…
