The Evermore Grimoire: Elemental Powers
Cryokinesis is the power to create, shape and manipulate ice and water into a solid state. As an elemental power, it has a nigh-limitless number of uses, only limited by the wielder’s imagination and their natural limits. Fundamentally though, they would be able to generate ice through various means, such as lowering the temperature of the surrounding air until solid ice forms or by freezing nearby water sources. They can also release and channel ice in the form of ice beams that freeze whatever it comes into contact with, or extremely rigid and durable ice walls and domes that can be used offensively and defensively. There's also the capacity to use ice in order to freeze one's opponents to death by trapping them in ice that slowly kills their cells, or shattering them to pieces once frozen.

Prompt #3252
“You need to start wearing thermals to our fights before you freeze solid.”
“Why would I? Then I wouldn’t get to cuddle up with you afterwards.”
“You cannot keep relying on your nemesis’ thermo powers to keep you alive! I could leave you behind to freeze to death!”
“But you won’t.”

“Danny and Valerie were so absorbed with building their snow fort that they failed to notice that Sam and Tucker had already forfeited the match.”

Shiptember Day 5: Building a Fort! I know it probably meant ‘blanket fort’ for the romantic undertones but with these two I couldn’t resist. Apologies for the extremely messy coloring - maybe I’ll clean it up later. ;)

Cryokinesis and Foresight for quirk marriage?
New Quirk Name: Freeze Frame
This Emitter type Quirk allows the user to take a picture of their surroundings, as shown by their eyes glowing blue. The user then makes a rectangle of ice that contains the event. The user can peer into the freeze frame, moving around and viewing the event as an icy image. The user can apply this to replay and review the event to study it over and over again. The user can control the image they make to enhance, rewind, and mark whatever they wish to help understand it. The user can control the frames to some degree outside of peering into them, like moving them around in a short range and expanding on them for others to see. This gives the user a good mix of support and defense options, capturing moments of time to gather information. They can find out hidden details, use the frames as shields, convey information to their allies, suddenly make frames to use as platforms, or simply capture a lovely moment with their friends. Though using the Quirk too much can end up icing over the user's head, giving them a brain freeze to begin with and eventually making it hard to focus and making ice around their head. The user's frames can still be melted, and the freeze frames can only show the user so much in terms of scope and timeframe.

I need to work on action poses so heres some practice on the girls and some more elobration on their fighting styles.
I didn't mention this in the pictures but while fighting Yuki prefers keeping both of her legs on the ground, mostly because how clumsy she is she doesn't trust herself to jump around a lot, and she pretty much goes headstrong and direct if she has to. Zuri on the other hand likes to bob and weave around her opponent to tire them out first, and then strike when their guard is down.

Watching the Frozen movies again. Remembering how much I love them. You know for children’s movies, they actually can get pretty dark when you really analyze the concepts used to tell the story. Showing how quickly magic can become a very destructive thing when not handled correctly or when there’s a lack of emotional control. Elsa’s magic being more so PK ability. That of hydrokinesis/cryokinesis. The psychic ability to manipulate or control water, ice or frost.
There has been similar stories about this with the element of fire as well. Stephen King’s ‘Firestarter’ specifically comes to mind. And many a Marvel or DC character have possessed these supernatural abilities.
It really is about learning to control your inner power because psychic ability (or magic) is an extension of our thoughts and emotions - of our internal selves. The Frozen movie specifically tells the story of a gifted/cursed child that has to overcome their fear of putting their loved ones in danger out of a mishandling and lack of control of their mental and emotional power - which manifests as a physical supernatural ability.
You take the metaphor of that away and you’re left with a child who grows up to be afraid of their own power because they’ve been taught that it’s wrong, that it’s a threat, that it’s destructive and chaotic. When really, what’s more dangerous is repressing it because the fear of it only continues to grow instead and that can be even more destructive in the end.
This is a very dark concept to be telling the story of in a children’s movie if not for the metaphor being used.
But this is also why it connects to an older audience.
Why it works as an all-the-family movie because the older audience can see behind the metaphor to the strong and substantial message that’s there while the younger audience thinks it’s cool and entertaining but can come to relate and resonate with the characters.
Both Frozen 1 and 2 navigate these icy waters quite literally to tell the story of the danger of repression. Keeping it in over letting it out when the latter, while still dangerous, is less dangerous than the former because there’s no emotion more chaotic than fear. And when you possess such immense power that you can’t control, and there’s no real guidance for how to… that fear only intertwines with that immense inner power and exacerbates it - it doesn’t stop or quell it. In that way the moral to the story is about allowing and accepting our inner power than it is about controlling or concealing it and that’s why it’s so empowering and captivating to audiences of any age or gender. They learn that repression just makes power worse because there’s no true understanding of it in the first place.
And I feel like a lot of people who do possess psychic/intuitive power innately need to know and learn this because they’re taught and encouraged to control and conceal their power more so than they are taught to allow and accept themselves as they naturally are.
Speaking from personal experience - when I realized that I was psychic and possessed claircognizant and clairsentient abilities, I didn’t understand my experiences: I thought there was something wrong with me and there was no one I could talk to about it. So having a fictional character like Elsa when I was young would have really helped me with knowing and understanding myself and my own abilities before I had even come across the right or correct “term” and “definition” for them. Before I knew that they were good and that they were a natural part of who I am.
The Frozen movies matter to someone like me that does possess psychic power and ability. But they would also matter to someone not like me because the metaphor doesn’t have to be taken literally. It could simply just be that of understanding our inner power and that we are just as worthy with it or without it.
And that’s the deep story there behind the metaphor. But also very much through the metaphor as well. For me it’s through the metaphor but for most people it’ll be behind the metaphor. Both are just as empowering.

Cryokinesis and overclock?
New Quirk Name: Flash Freeze
This Emitter type Quirk allows the user to cool their body, forming ice around their body. The user can spread out this cold to those around them, rapidly freezing whatever is within close range of them and freezing even faster if they make contact. The user can control where and how this ice forms, like having it form ice around their chest to stop an attack or only decreasing their temperature to a moderate degree. These lower temperatures help clear the user's head and body as well, improving their focus and reaction time as long as their temperature is lowered, to the point where they could react to a bullet coming at them with ease. These improve the lower the temperatures are. This gives the user a powerful ability, their greater awareness and freezing powers make for a dangerous combination. They can leave their foes in blocks of ice, freeze projectiles before they land, give themselves time to plan and react to issues, grow ice around them for protection, slide around on blocks of ice, or simply use it to keep a cool head in a bad situation. Though the user cannot maintain this for long, the immense cold wears down on them if they use it for more than a matter of seconds and need to stop in between uses to recharge. Heat can interfere with the user's ability to apply the Quirk.
