Silkwood (1983). A worker at a plutonium processing plant is purposefully contaminated, psychologically tortured and possibly murdered to prevent her from exposing worker safety violations at the plant.

Man, this is good. Meryl Streep is at her inexhaustable, narrative grounding best in this story of a rough-edged woman realising she's collateral damage under capitalism, and she's only elevated further by a pretty excellent Kurt Russell and Cher in supporting roles. Acerbic, infuriating and tragic, this is just great, scathing cinema. 8/10.
