Athena wrapped the chain around her fist and connected right on the jaw of Martinez and picked up the tainted victory.

I had no idea Ned Beatty passed last month. In honor of his life I think I am going to write some Roseanne fan fiction where he and Dan Connor have a bonding moment as he explains why he was an aloof and absent father during the past two decades.
They will be at the table after the family Christmas dinner, just the two of them. Dan is drinking a Coors while Ed stares blankly at the remains of the Honey Baked Ham on the table.
Ed: “You know, Dan, I think it’s time I told you something I have never told anyone, not even your mother. I was sworn not to say anything and I have been carrying this with me to this day. It was a canoeing trip I went on when you Roseanne were still dating that went horribly wrong.”
Dan: “I remember that Mom said something tragic happened but never knew exactly-“
Ed: “ She doesn’t know anything and if she did....I don’t know. But what I am about to tell you never leaves the table. It’s between you, me and this god forsaken ham. Agreed?”
*Dan looks at Ed in worried confusion as he slowly takes a drink from his Coors*
Dan: “Sure, Dad.”
Ed: “It was supposed to be the prefect weekend canoeing trip where the rapids were at there best before the North Georgia Forestry Services was scheduled to release the dam and flood an area. Just the four of us guys in our prime to escape the hectic Atlanta city life. Everything was going great...”
*Camera slowly pans away and fades to a still of the front of the Conner’s house as the end credit music replaces the discussion between Dan and Ed, leaving the conversation and reaction to the imagination of us all.*
Then the touching ending credits is interrupted by an obnoxious channel advertisement for programming on ABC.
“DAUBER IS IN TROUBLE WITH HIS NEW GIRLFRIEND WHEN HE TAKES BAD LOVE ADVICE FROM LUTHER. CAN COACH SORT THIS OUT OR WILL DAUBER BE LEFT SINGLE AGAIN? DON’T MISS THIS EPISODE OF COACH! TUESDAY NIGHT AT 8PM EASTERN 9 CENTRAL “

(sorry this took me YEARS to respond too I had an idea and I wanted to get it right but I didn’t want to lose you you sneaky lil anon, here it is I hope you like it
ABSOLUTE IDIOT
It was a stupid idea really, he thought that he could handle this own his own but surprise surprise it resulted in 3 of the perps getting away and him getting shot in the side. He tried to teleport home but he’d used up his powers. He sighed heavily and dragged himself out into the streets. Jumping in the van he’d driven there in. What an idiot thinking he could handle this himself. He drove home a permanent grimace on his face as the dull ache in his side turned into a sharp pain. He crudely parked in the alley beside the Academy and climbed out of the car. He groaned as he made the second worse decision of the day. He started to climb up the side of the building, not wanting to bother the rest of his siblings. He could feel the blood seeping through his blazer, his entire body ached and his side burnt even worse then before and all he wanted was to have a god dam coffee pull the bullet out of his side and have a bloody nap.
He crawled through the window and collapsed to the ground with a groan, he took a deep shaky breath as he stood again, sitting on his bed he peeled his blazer and vest off, biting his lip to stop crying out in pain. He looked down at his wound. Fuck it was worse then he thought, he couldn’t bloody handle this right now, he needed some liquor to stop his hands from shaking and to numb the pain. He threw on the hoodie draped across his desk and slowly descended the stairs into the kitchen, his face was white as a sheet and sweat had gathered on his brow, he was sure he looked more dead then Ben did at this point. Walking into the kitchen he groaned, Klaus was sitting at the table bickering with Diego, Luther stood at the stove cooking eggs and Allison sat reading her book. Just what he needed, the eyes of his siblings on him. He tried not to draw attention to himself slinking over to Reginalds alcohol cabinet
“Five?” Allison asked eyeing off her smallest brother “You alright? You don’t look too hot”
“Thanks Allison love you too sis” he grumbled back as best he could through the pain, he reached up to open the cabinet but he stopped, a cry escaping his mouth as he fell against the cabinet
“Five…” Luther said raising his eyebrow, Klaus stood walking over to him
“Hey you’re really pale, like paler then Ben pale”
“I’m fine” Five snapped turning around to face his siblings concerned faces. Then everything went black.
The first thing he noticed when his eyes blinked open was the splitting pain shooting through his body from his side. He cried out in pain tears forming in his eyes, He could hear Allison talking but from far away, he felt hands pulling at the hoodie and he pulled away
“hurts” he managed to choke out and Diego’s face finally settled in his sight
“I know you’re bleeding we need to get this off you jesus five what have you done to yourself”
“got shot” he coughs and regrets it instantly as it causes another wave of pain to hit him
“christ on a cracker you’re an idiot, you get shot and come in here just to drink what the hell Five” Klaus says. He hears Klaus and Diego mumblings together for a moment but his focus is so hazy that he cant understand them, then suddenly Klaus is sitting him up and Diego is pulling off his jumper and the world goes black again.
This time when he wakes he’s in someones lap, Allison he guesses from the gentle motherly hand caressing through his hair. His white button up was open and Diego was fussing over the wound, he gently press a cloth to Fives side which woke him up instantly, crying out in pain shooting upright, Luther bent down and pushed him back into Allison’s lap
“Hey hey I know but when you go and do stupid things like get shot without telling any of us this is where we end up alright” He said keeping his arms around Five holding him down as Diego went back to cleaning the wound. Pathetic little whimpers escaped Five’s lips, Allison tried to comfort him whispering soothing words into his ear as she gently stroked his hair
“Alright that’ll do for now, you need to get some rest and then we can get Grace to look at you” Diego said rocking back on his heels, Five’s blood on his hands. Five sighed in relief, the pain had calmed to a gently ache, he unintentionally curled closer to Allison
“I wanna coffee” he groaned, Klaus chuckled from a distance
“No coffee for a month for you you little shit, not until you realise that when you get shot you don’t drive home climbs up the side of a building then wander into the kitchen for a drink you absolute idiot”
Luther bent down and picked him up, he whined a little but settled in his big brothers arms, his vision staring to go black around the edges
“what are we going to do with him” he heard Allison ask
“my current idea? wrap him in bubble wrap and never let him leave the house”
Five chuckled slightly before dozing off, maybe he needed to stop doing things alone now that he has a family to help him.

"Offseason" Week 14 1/17-23: Total time running 6 hours, 8 minutes Total elevation gain 2,710 feet Total distance 39.8 miles •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• 3 days on, the rest of the week off. Last week I was listening to an interview with Ultrarunner Tim Olson on the "Just Curious Show" podcast and there was a point where he was talking about how fellow Ultrarunner Anton Krupicka was logging some 200-mile training weeks in a lead up to winning the Western States 100 some years ago. Tim mentioned something on the lines of "in order to level up, you gotta get a little crazy with your daily runs" (I am paraphrasing). So I have been keeping that in mind recently with my offseason training. I am registered for this year's Cayuga Trails 50K in May, so that official training cycle will start soon, whether or not I actually go depending on how the pandemic is proceeding in New York State. If I don't go, I will time trial it again solo like last summer. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Monday Trail Run: All up in Van Cortlandt for Martin Luther King Jr Day 🖤. I started with a lap on the flats before climbing into the forest trails. ○ Tuesday Trail Run: on Monday Van Cortlandt was congested with a lot of people hiking from being off from work for the holiday I'm assuming, so I wanted to hit the trails on a quieter late morning, and also see how I feel climbing 2 days in a row. My 2 goals for this run were: 1.) At least 10 miles ✅ & 2.) A lot of frequent climbing so Strava will list elevation gain instead of pace for the run ✅. I ran over to Riverdale Park and then hit the West side of Van Cortlandt trails. ○ Wednesday Long Run: Bronx River Greenway from Kensico Dam to Crestwood & back. I haven't run the Bronx River Greenway in Westchester since last summer, and it was good to hit this path mid-Winter, with 2 days of hard trail running sitting in my legs. I love following the Bronx River. It is very scenic, tranquil and mostly clean. Saturday Six
I just measured out a tablespoon of peanut butter. Because this is what my life has become.
We watched Dunkirk last night, and it’s the best movie I have seen in a long time. Which isn’t saying much, because I rarely watch movies. Movies require paying attention while also staying up for two hours IN A ROW, while lounging in my bed. I suppose I could sit up, but what’s fun about that?
I watch The Middle, and it’s consistently been my favorite sitcom over the last several years. It’s very underrated. This is the last season, and it still does not disappoint. Jerry Van Dyke has been a delightfully funny guest star from time to time, and he died this week. He was a riot as Luther Van Dam, Minnesota Screaming Eagles defensive coordinator, on Coach. And that’s just his recent work. I loved Jerry Van Dyke. What a treasure.
I’m listening to “Situation” by Yaz, and I think this is my theme song for Finn this year.
That’s an 80′s joke, and I’M JUST KIDDING! Sort of.
Back to Dunkirk, Tom Hardy is pretty amazing. He disappears into his roles like a master. Brilliant.

Jerry Van Dyke Dead at 86 Jerry Van Dyke -- the famed younger brother of Dick Van Dyke -- has died ... TMZ has learned. Jerry's wife, Shirley, tells us ... he died Friday afternoon at their Arkansas ranch with her by his side. She says they were involved in a car accident over 2 years ago ... and Jerry's health had deteriorated since. We're told Dick visited them at the ranch over the Christmas holiday. A beloved comedian just like his brother, Jerry pursued stand-up as a young man and performed at military bases around the world.
