I met @seawinkles on LJ in 2009 (WOOF) & met up with her in LV in 2015 for like an hour on tour (& saw Circus Circus Vegas on my own, DOESN'T COUNT) which totally solidified our BFFship but THIS TIME. Not only did we take 777% cuter pictures & spend ACTUAL time together (incl. a VGK win! 🦩💕) plus… Topsy is WAY cuter than Lucky despite being WAY harder to get 📸 of. (Sorry, Vegas.)

I have TONS to post but like. Thriving. Clowned out. In my lane. Neon BFF tiiiiiime. (Don’t talk to strangers online unless they’re super cool, okay?)

The Eldorado Casino Resort is one end of what’s referred to as The Row, and the other anchor is the other Circus-Circus casino resort. Unlike the Circus Circus in Las Vegas, this one is still owned by Caesar’s (as is the Eldorado), and they built another casino to basically unite the properties so that you could walk through three casinos without having to walk outside.

Most of my impressions of Circus Circus Las Vegas has been shaped by the Top Chef season 6 episode “Strip Around the World” where one of the cheftestants had to go there to get inspired to make a dish, and it honestly looked decrepit in there. The Reno location was ostensibly nicer, but there were no table games, and it was pretty quiet when we walked through there on a Thursday afternoon. They did have an impressive arcade for the kids, however, which is very much in line with the Las Vegas resort.

Silver Legacy was built to essentially unite the two resorts, and it’s kind of bla to be honest, but apparently I didn’t realize that they intentionally light their hotel tower green because they intended it to look like Oz.

Couldn't pass this 1900 purple Victorian by, and it's just as cute inside. The 4bd, 2ba home in Sewickley, Pennsylvania is $320K.

Center hall entrance.

This home is so original and the furnishings reflect the owner's lifelong collection. The living room matches the colors of the exterior.

The dining is large and is part sitting room, too.

No modern kitchen reno here. This sweet kitchen has a vintage stove, linoleum flooring, and a drainboard sink.

Plus, look at the original cabinets in the pantry. I hope a buyer doesn't come in and gut this.

The primary bedroom is large and has an en-suite.

Look at how cute that sign on the tub is. The pink fixtures aren't original, but they're vintage.

There's a child's room thru the other bedroom door and it's already got a circus theme.

The 3rd bd. is also large and as cute as can be.

The 2nd bath also has vintage fixtures, this time in green. Check out the faucets.

The 4th bd. is also spacious.

Attic stairs to lead to an unfinished attic, but the owners are using it as a family room. Has a lot of potential.

I'm wondering if the cracks in the basement floor, and the water stains, are red flags.

Check this out- a gothic window and gargoyles.

Wow, though, look at all the stairs! According to the description parking is on-street and the steps are the only access. Yikes!

Looks like the yard has steps, too, but it's lovely.

Tseng and Lazard going from “Not my circus, not my monkeys” to “Oh shit my circus, my monkeys”

A victorious return from the front of Wutai always meant a parade down main street straight to HQ. Though most fans simply cheered the SOLDIERs and especially the Firsts on, there were always some that went above and beyond. Security troops focused on keeping 'the crazies' from jumping over the parade barriers and rushing any of the Firsts for photos, hugs, hair, chunks of clothes, there was literally no way to know for sure. The Turks maintained a much more important role: preventing terrorist attacks or kidnappings on the sidelines of the crowded sidewalks. Security would've preferred the Turks' aid, but that was rarely given.

Security, on this day, failed.

A coordinated effort from fifteen members of the Silver Elite hopped the fences at once and barreled to Sephiroth. Three fans slipped through Security and made it straight up to the firsts. Angeal kept his cool and demanded they return. Genesis tried to flirt with one of them. The final fan slipped around from behind and groped Sephiroth.

Now the monkeys roared.

Sephiroth nearly killed the fan for this. The Turks sprang into action at the burning murder in Sephiroth's eyes. Cissnei talked Sephiroth into letting security arrest her instead of making her utterly unrecognizable from the beating he wanted to commit. Rude smacked Genesis in the back of the head and took the fan he was flirting with away. Reno, however, was far too entertained by Angeal's lecture and the look of horror on the fan's face to end their suffering early. Tseng had to step in and finally finish the job.

Needless to say, security around the Firsts increased immensely forever more.

i'm v bored so here are some different ideas for my mdzs f1 au

option 1: drivers

nmj and lxc are both very talented f1 drivers, both lauded as future world champions. meng yao did some karting at a young age, but instead decided to become an f1 engineer/mechanic when it became too expensive

my and lxc meet when they're 16/17, when lxc is competing in formula reno and my is apprenticing at his team as an engineer for the summer (it's not the high profile best car team he was going to join until wrh blocked him by having wen chao join the team)

my and nmj meet properly when my gets appointed to be his race engineer (after nmj goes through 2 others quitting or being fired in the previous seasons)

nmj and lxc are long time friends, growing up in the karting circuits together (think piastri and sargeant, or verstappen and leclerc but they're actually friends)

lxc is the one who recommended my as a potential race engineer for nmj (my still getting the job on his own merit ofc)

option 2: part of the f1 circus

nmj is the safety car driver, jgy is the race director, lxc is a high profile f1 journalist/pundit (chris medland + will butxton fusion)

lxc woukd be so proud of his brother lwj destroying the junior formulas, and definitly be paying extra attention to the driver markets during the summer break

jgy and nmj would 100% bond over the useless stewarding in the races (i think the track limits fiasco at belgium 23 would give jgy an aneurism)

they'd share flights to lots of the races (and hotel rooms too)

option 3: they're ALL drivers

meng yao manages to get through karting and the lower formulas by joining a driver academy (very high pressure bc if he messes up once he could get kicked out and lose his seat),

he's a couple years behind nmj and lxc, who are both from famous racing families - nmj's dad is/was a famous rally car driver (carlos sainz esq), and lxc's dad and lqr were both f1 drivers (not champions but decent ones) and his mum used to kart bf marrying (max verstappen esq)

lxc and nmj both enter the sport in upper midfield teams, getting consistent points and a few podiums here and there in their rookie seasons, whilst when my joins he's stuck in a back marker who struggles to get out of Q1 normally (jgs promises him a place in his team if he can prove himself - almost impossible in the team he's in)

they're a well known driver friendship (once again like the 2019 rookies) and they do press videos together sometimes bc they're fan favourites

(side note: the 2019 rookies - george russell, alex albon, and lando norris - also have the height differences of 3zun, both russell and albon are 184cm+ and norris was around 170cm in 2019)

I never shot a man in Reno just to watch him die, but I did make love to an amazing woman so many times while Johnny Cash played in the background that I am unable prevent an erotic iteration of a Pavlovian response when I hear his music.

That's an interesting musical choice! Reno is where you go to play on the circus circus midway and eat too much buffet food, not commit homicide. At least it was before covid. :(

If Rufus had ever tried swallowing a weight, he imagined it would feel like this. The leader of the Turks, one of his only competent allies in the circus his father had left behind, gone. Just like that.

It had always been a possibility. One he had been prepared for, or so he thought. But he had not been ready for the void that ripped open in his gut. He honestly hadn't thought he had enough of a heart left to feel grief.

Apparently he did.

What he didn't have, was time to grieve. That would come later.

"Thank you, Reno. You are now the acting head of the General Affairs Department. This doesn't change your mission. Proceed as you see fit and report to me before engaging if you discover Sephiroth's whereabouts."

Before he kills you too.

Before Rufus was left with no one.

🤡ok to start out with some canon: in the Once Upon A Time (1967) [use an adblock if you click that link btw] lore, at one point Hamegg was in the hospital for a Circus Accident, and during this time aliens fucking invaded and Ochanomizu (who had met Atom a few times) stole Atom to help. in the process of the adventure, the aliens forced every society on Earth to grant human rights to robots, so by the time Hamegg woke up from his injury nap, he didn't fucking own any of the circus robots anymore. The headcanon: the robots he USED to own who were now literally physically altered into their roles as circus robots (i think that was an 80s thing?) and didn't actually want to go do anything else... just formed their own circus. Robot Circus, by robots, for robots. maybe they end up becoming like the circus from the 2003 anime that Reno is from (though these guys would be able to be legally run by robots, bc, you know, human rights). i can definitely see them having guest star human performers but having a permanent troupe of all robots

🕶 technus' shades haven't always been part of his form (he died in the mid 18th century, and he re-did his look to go for the Matrix-esque cyber look around the 90s) but he has always had some sort of eye covering in his main form. he likes to play around with electricity and radiation and welding and all that jazz, and that does Not mean he likes the flashing and eye damage without protection. now that he's used to it, he also just doesn't like unrestricted bright lights. he was wearing eye protection before it was cool :)
