More than half the League is betting at any time that they know when it's actually Batman under the mask, or someone else. Unfortunately, they were wrong when:

Dick was doing a phenomenal job of playing Bruce (didn't give himself away even once by smiling), because he fell asleep

Batman stubbed his toe against a table and swore like a sailor which led to cash exchanging hands as several people figured it was Jason, but Bruce had recently switched out of Matches Malone to dress up as Bats and hadn't shaken the Mindset yet

Batman's suit sat weirdly empty at the table and Oliver, annoyed, tried to tell Damian that this was too serious a meeting for Bruce to delegate, but it was Batman, hit with a de-ageing spell and too stubborn to sit out

After sustaining pretty serious injuries, Batman was whiteknuckling the table, in an awful mood, and nobody thought anything of it. Barry offered to help Bruce up (if the pain was keeping him trapped, trying not to insult Batman too much), and Jason tightly replied that if he moved the suit was going to tear.

Clark and Bruce had a bet for how long they could replace Bruce with a mannequin without anyone noticing, and because Clark kept looking over at "Bruce" and giggling (pretty par for the course for them), nobody noticed for five hours.

Re-listened to TAZ Balance recently and I’m still in awe that Griffin McElroy somehow managed to introduce a “long-lost twin of protagonist who had selective amnesia about them” character so late in the story, so successfully that she not only featured in some of the most thrilling and emotional moments of the series, but immediately became wildly popular and caused most of the fanbase to spontaneously develop crushes on her

The Timeline Shifted, and Sam is conflicted...

So! A Timeline Shift occurs one day (thanks Barry) while Team Phantom are in the Ghost Zone helping Clockwork with a few things. As they are going back to the Human World, Clockwork gives them another cryptic piece of advice.

"Unfortunately the world will not be the same as it once was. Samantha, you will find this especially Jarring, but keep an open mind."

Before they can ask what happened, he shoves them through their own respective Portals, and Sam lands in an Alleyway in Gotham.

She is confused, but a green glowing sticky note appears in front of her telling her 'go to the nearby park, you will see what I was talking about'

She walks over, and sees a lady with Green Skin tending to some flowers. Her head is covered by a Hat, so Sam can't see her face.

They strike up a Conversation, and Sam finds that this Lady is great. She loves taking care of Plants, she hates it when Companies pollute the Earth, and she even has Plant Powers just like Sam!

It occurs to her that she never asked for the Lady's name, so she asks and the lady lifts her Hat to reveal her face. And Sam freezes.

"Oh, sorry for not introducing myself. My name is Pamela Isley."

Thats her Mom's Maiden Name.

This lady has her Mom's Name.

This is her Mom.

Oooooooohhhhhhhhhh shit.

When Clockwork told Danny to round up all the speeders, he thought it would be a quick errand. But then he stuck around. He couldn't help it ok? He had never been a witness to one of CW's tongue lashings. Only the receiver. That's why he wanted to listen to Clockwork chew these speeders out for their misuse of the speed force.

It's also why he was still around when Clockwork said "In order to help you manage your speed more, King Phantom will be teaching you."

saying this with love: it's almost comically hard for me to imagine the era of early TAZ Balance fandom where people took the Red Robe seriously as a villain.

like, I've dug up enough old posts and fanart to know it happened, because of course it did, he was practically carrying a big flashing "villain" sign around with him, and I guess he brutally forced a guy to choke on poison or whatever — but like, that's my dad! that's my father! he would help me with my homework if I asked him!

his iconic ominous voice was fake! he actually sounds like he's from Fantasy New Jersey or somewhere adjacent! he's a wife guy bereft of a wife because she's stuck in Taako's umbrella! the most threatening action he ever took towards THB was before he even died and became the Red Robe, and all he did even then was just annoying Merle into stabbing himself with a fork! his name is Barry J.
