“I will never forgive you for this,” she spits, her voice nothing but splinters. A shuddery breath escapes the Master’s lips, almost reverent. He shifts himself closer, invading her space, stealing her breaths along with everything else he’s taken from her. “I’m sorry, Doctor,” he murmurs, almost tender, almost like he means it. “But you never forgiving me was precisely the point.”

Covers for my new multi-chapter Doctor Who fic, Disarmed, which is probably the most rancid concept I've ever come up with. The vibes are awful, guys. In the best kind of way - at least, if that's you're kind of thing. If you wanna read almost 40k of the Doctor and the Master being forced to work together whilst the Doctor barely manages not to tear the Master's throat out on multiple occasions, then this is the fic for you! Be warned though - it's heavy, both emotionally and in terms of gore content. But regardless - I'm super proud of these covers!! Whoop whoop!

me stoically navigating my way through drama bc bigger things are ahead and it’s not my fault people are dumb

#kissed a guy at a kickback and thought we caught a vibe only to find out he just wants to fuck me. next #friend’s bf of 7 years drunkenly hit on me at the same kickback (I was not ok w this). they ended up beefing over me. he denied everything.#do I want to be involved in this? no. and so I simply ignore it and keep it pushing #and the guy I kissed is cancelled. like he is dead to me. so that’s also taken care of #it’s back to studying full-time for the mcat #going to the gym/taking walks daily #volunteering at the refugee center + clinic #getting published in orgo research papers #and trying to snag the opportunity to shadow doctors at a massive cancer research center. like I’d kill for it #december was such a mess but I’ve finally made peace w the fact that most of the stuff that happened I couldn’t prevent #but I’ve mourned it enough !! whatever drama comes out of it I’ll handle just fine #i literally want to be a multitasking academic weapon everyone is intimidated of this year #i am not letting something as puny as a dumb man (both of them btw) stop me. goodbye #also everyone involved is older than me (they’re both 23) but it all just feels like such high school behavior #this is not a euphoria episode like I’m literally just not entertaining any of this #had to get this off my chest. i feel better #p

i feel like some people are still so weird about cats. i taught my cat "sit" recently and upon mentioning this to my one friend he said he didn't really believe cats learn tricks like dogs do (because they're independent-minded and don't have a drive to please their owners) and was like "she's only sitting because she knows she usually gets a treat from you if she does"

unlike dogs who... definitely don't normally learn tricks through positive reinforcement or like treats.... apparently...

Look man I just think it’s a shame that Lon Chaney Jr’s horror film debut usually gets cut from the roster.

#also I understand this is the rare pair of all rare pairs #but god I’m fascinated by the potential dynamic of Dan McCormick (the man-made monster) and Frankenstein’s creature #because their fascinating inversions of each other?#like Dan is this good hearted circus performer who’s taken the various tragedies of his life in stride #(from his backstory of being an abused orphan to right when the audience meet him when he’s the sole survivor of a horrific bus crash)#only to get his mind melted when some mad scientist figures out that Dan’s apparently immune to any sort of damage by electric shock #who then takes advantage of said mind-melt to make him kill the only doctor who might have saved him and to turn himself over to the police #go through the entire trial unable to defend himself and then be PUT TO THE ELECTRIC CHAIR #walk out now that he’s juiced up enough on electricity to function #stumble through the woods killing and terrorizing people because he’s physically incapable of touching anything #kill the mad scientist behind it all and then kill himself by draining all the electricity from his body #which all seems just kinda like excellent set up for SOMETHING with the creature #if only because with the creature’s modern electricity thing pairing nicely #with Guy who needs to be charged with deadly amounts of electricity to function #like I don’t have coherent thoughts but it feels like it’s got so many fun opportunities.#my art #man-made monster #universal horror #lon chaney

You know something I am really sad about is how the TARDIS interior changed for tenteen. It would have been a whole different story if the clothes had been normal but like this? Everthing the Doctor was just vanished and got replaced. The screwdriver coming out of nothing? The outfit? A new fancy TARDIS?

10 kept the TARDIS from 9 and 12 from 11. 13 had to fight to get her TARDIS back and built herself a new screwdriver in the meantime. 11 had to let her recalibrate until she was usable again and gave him a new screwdriver (? I think ? Don't quite remember where he got the sonic) All of them CHOSE their new outfit and had a whole thing where they searched for it.

And tenteen just gets all those things like this, appearing in his lap. Which is convenient, sure, but I feel like he really lost the identification process on the way. Maybe not as important for him as he knows the body and mind and companion already (in theory) but like, I am not surprised he is going through it like this. He just wanted to hang on to Yaz, wasn't allowed that, lost her, decided she was gonna be excited for change, didn't really get change either and then everything they could hold onto as part of their last identity, everything that was theirs to let go off, just got ripped out of his hands replaced with a weird mixture of 'look how new and nice and shiny' and 'isn't that lovely reminiscent of 4 bodies ago'. No wonder they are running on their gingiva*, I would be so lost and disoriented in his place.

And then obviously from a meta pov I dislike that 15 is apparently copying tenteen's TARDIS now. We got a scene of tenteen exploring the new TARDIS and being excited but for 15 he has already had 1.5 adventures with her. And while we couldn't put tenteen into the old clothes it was okay to put 15 in underwear? Wouldn't it have made much more sense to have the weird clothes' thing happen with the mitosis regeneration? (like, I wouldn't have liked that either but it is a little weird how tenteen got a full suit and 15 got the bare minimum)

And I hate how it feels like every part that made the Doctor 13 got erased as quickly as possible. Luckily, there were a few references at least - if no one got me I know the psychic paper got me <3 - and I GET why the fam didn't show up in the puppet show but like, couldn't you have left tenteen the TARDIS interior at least? I am sure Donna would have liked the crystal columns <3

It feels very rtd to have tenteen showered with gifts he can't even want and that are way too much while others are erased or overshadowed by him and get the leftovers.

On a similar note, I was also direly missing post-regeneration haze for both of them. Who knows (well people who have watched the Christmas special, I guess), maybe that's yet to come for 15? But like how are they supposed to function without running about without a clue and passing out every 5s for a day or two?

*German expression, means to be on one's last legs

#anti rtd #<- it isn't only anti rtd because there is a certain tragic to treating the Doctor this way that I can get on board with #and like there wasn't that much time for his arc anyway as he only lived for 2.5 eps #but I still wish the Doctor could have kept something and then moved on on his own accord #like an earring you know? pluck it out of his ear and put it in a pocket for safekeeping #you remember how 13 lost the wedding ring regenerating and that was framed as something to mourn? I bet they never even realised #at least not until much later when they had no clue where it had disappeared to it just got taken from them when they weren't looking #tenteen's whole self is like that ring just that it isn't getting framed that way and hence we don't get to grief and experience the tragic #as what it is #again no time in 3 eps for this sure #but idk it's very tragic to take away from 13 and 15 to give to tenteen in a way that takes aways from tenteen in the end #(maybe rtd was forced to change TARDIS and sonic who knows not gonna yell at him for it but it remains sad and unfortunate)#from the meta pov I am at least glad the TARDIS (and potentially sonic) will come to be 15's that tenteen borrowed since we will see them #together for longer #dw spoilers

2024 year of charlie gets a fucking break (hopefully. maybe. tbd.)

#ctxt #i'm on medication that's reduced my post-hysterectomy pain by about 70%#i have an intake appointment with a physical therapist in march & a referral to start trigger point injections #to hopefully finally recover as completely as possible from the nightmarish neuropathy that's plagued me since uuuhhhh #going on 2 years ago. holy shit. genuinely can't believe i've been surviving & functioning as well as i have for this long #while suffering a disabling & extremely painful surgical complication. fuck my original surgeon for brushing me off during that time #but the new provider i'm working with is so responsive & thorough in her approach & seems genuinely committed #to helping me finally get relief after all this time. she listens to my feedback & is flexible in her approach #and her assistant is a great communicator who's been handling most of the logistics of care coordination for me #and what a huge fucking relief that is. to not have to drag my doctors kicking & screaming towards maybe treating me eventually #i wanna cry. i finally feel like i'm being taken seriously and cared for. and i'm not BETTER yet (might never be the same as i was pre-op)#but i actually feel optimistic for the first time in over a year that i won't just have to deal with this agonizing pain on my own forever #i might actually see enough improvement that i can start to get back to living my life instead of just surviving it #money is tighter than it's been since i got laid off during early pandemic and that's stressing me out #but i promised myself that i would put my health first in 2024 and that means only working the bare minimum needed to pay my bills for now #genuinely i so fucking needed a break. i felt like i was trying to swim through a meat grinder last year #and it wasn't until i ended up in the ER about it that i finally was able to take my own pain seriously enough #to put my foot down & make some necessary changes that are now letting me focus on Getting Well With Myself at last #in hindsight it's like. really freaking me out how thoroughly i was able to compartmentalize & dissociate from how miserable i was #bc nobody who had the ability to help me would take me seriously & my shitty boss was like. extremely textbook emotionally abusive #and on one hand that was a survival mechanism that kept me on my feet during one of the worst times of my life. so props to myself there #but it was also very maladaptive how long & unnecessarily it went on before i snapped out of it & escalated things for my own safety #it was the same helpless frustration i often felt as a kid of like 'well nobody is on my side but me so i gotta suck it up & help myself'#and i think the family trauma shit that was going on last year definitely contributed to that. idk sense of doubling across time?#and things had to get Extremely Bad before they were bad enough for me to realize that although i felt like it #i am no longer an isolated & parentified island of a child who is beholden to the whims of ignorant & indifferent adults #i actually can and should take action to advocate for myself bc i am an adult and i CAN now change my circumstances as needed #instead of just enduring them as if i'm stuck there with no agency or chance to change things #and i have a really solid support system who helped me feel like it was possible to stand up for myself to get the help i desperately need #chronic blogging

ShiSaku Week: Day 3

Sakura could only sigh as her training with Annabeth was interrupted by one of her siblings. Especially after they told her "favorite patient" was waiting for treatment.

"You'd think being one of the fastest sons of Hermès, he'd be less injured," Annabeth said.

Rubbing her temples, the pink haired girl apologized the daughter of Athena. Of course her sparing partner understood, as this kind of interruption was not uncommon between the two. It's just on of the many flaws of being head if their cabins.

It also doesn't help that Sakura here, has medical abilities that could rival her father's, Asclepius. It made her a very popular request in the infirmary. It was got the point, that she put a ban on her patient load unless it was really serious (i.e. an arrow to the eye).

However, there was only one person who somehow alway managed to get her to heal him. That man, Shisui Uchiha, son of Hermès.

He was one who didn't let any of her cabin members come near him. Especially when it came time for his vaccinations.

At first she thought it was because he had already known her, being that dhe was childhood friends with his cousin, Sasuke. Then he just became problematic for her siblings. All the way from using his winged shoes to pinn himself to roof, or using his enhanced speed to evade them. In other word he was her siblings worse nightmare of a patient, and the newcomers to her cabin were quick to presudade to dump him on her.

Thus there was a rule in in her cabin; no matter what, whenever Shisui Uchiha showed up at the infirmary the youngest would be sent out to get her to rein him in.

"You know Sakura ," her sibling began, as they walked to the infirmary, "if I didn't know any better I'd say he has a thing for you."

She could see the concern on her siblings face at how fast she turned her head to look at them.

Of course Sakura was shocked at her sibling's hypothesis. In her mind, it seemed preposterous that Shisui would have taken a liking to her. In fact, thing far back as to when she'd be over at Sasuke's home to play, he'd alway pull at her pink locks, and say the most observed things to get a reaction out of her. He'd also poke her forehead a lot which he knew she was self conscious about.

" Trust me when I say this, Shisui does not like me. I am just a familiar to him. The reason being that we knew eachother when we younger, and that's it. Nothing more. Nothing less," she made clear.

Her sibling only shrugged and just came to the silent conclusion that Sakura was oblivious.

By now, every camper knew of Shisui's infatuation with Sakura. That is, every camper besides the woman of his affections.

They'd all seen the way he watches her at she trains with the daughters of Athena. They way he always made room next to him during celebrations.

Even during their interaction with each term, he'd be dropping hint, obvious ones and they'd just go over her head. It was painful to watch for all campers.

Percy remembers when Shisui used a funny pickup line on Sakura, and well, it got her to laugh. That was about it.

Later on he'd find out from Annabeth, that her half sister, Ino, repeated said pickup line that Sakura told her. Though, Ino made it clear that Sakura one hundred percent thought it was a joke.

After telling Annabeth who Sakura heard the pickup like from, let's just say she was pretty annoyed.

Pretty much every camper wants them to just kiss and end their missery...

Walking into the infirmary room that contained the Uchiha, Sakura crossed her arms. There he was, laying down all comfortable in the bed, with messy bandages wrapped around his head.

" So Shisui, what bring you intoday," she asked, as Shisui sat up from the bed.

Now despite, everything Sakura is very fond of the Uchiha. Don't get her wrong, he can be annoying, but he always made her smile in the end.

"Well Doc, you see I was helping the children of Demeter harvest their apples."

Oh no. This us going exactly where she thinks this is going.

Sakura could not help the smile that grace her lips.

"Well, one of them dropped their basket full of apples. The apples where going to hit their sibling holding the ladder steady, and I just couldn't let them. "

"So your in here cause you got clobbered by apples," she said, with amusement.

"What can I say, Doc? I'm proof that an apple doesn't slways keep the doctor away,' isn't true."

With a chuckle, she walked over to his bed. Allowing her plans to glow green, she placed them on the side of his head. Her eyes closed, as she concentrated; scanning for any for and signs of head injury.

Shisui couldn't help but to relax in her touch. He even brought a hand up to clasp one her own.

It startled her to open her eyes, and for once it felt like they where really seeing eachother.

Time stopped.

Emerald eyes locking with onyx. Their heart beats somehow becoming in sync. Then suddenly they where leaning in, lip centimeters apart when-

"Sakura! We got a code 33," one of her siblings informed her, bargaining into the room.

Sakura had quickly pulled away from from Shisui, and a silence had settled into the room.

"A-am I interrupting something," they asked, looking between the blushing duo.

"No. Anyways, lead the way, and Shisui, you're good to go. I'll see you later at dinner," she said, rushing away to her next patient.

Meanwhile, Shisui was grinning like a fool.

By the end of the day, everyone knew what transpired between the two. So when dinner finally rolled around, and the two were holding hands; the whole camp lost it. Ino even fell to her knees as the rest of the camp cheered.

It was about damn time in everyones opinion.
