Well anon, you’ve got a good point there. And the thing I can answer to that is:

I’m not immune to liking some new stuff. :]

Yes, like— 90% of my fandoms are absolutely from ages far from when I was born. I just absolutely adore that nostalgic feel they have and how society back in the day worked. Plus how absurdly laid back the characters can be even at the most shocking scenarios that happen. It’s just such a great watch.

Though… despite all that… there’s always that giant elephant in the room whenever I am consuming that old content. I am absolutely aware of the implied (sometimes just outright vocalised) misogyny, sexism, homophobia etc etc in it, trust me, it’s a true painful reminder every time. So… it’s just nice to watch something from our decade that doesn’t involve any of those problems. It’s a nice breath of fresh air sometimes ya know?

Plus, Owl House just fuckin rocks man.

I am a heavy cartoon enjoyer so seeing a cartoon involving lots of lgbtq+ rep, a compelling story and a scruncly old man? You’ve got me hooked for ages baby.

So to just end this with a little list of exactly what fandoms I’m in right now:

Thank you for asking! (And no worries I never take offence to these questions)

((Note: I am answering this question completely on how the fandom treats the relationship. Not how I personally would’ve treated it.))

It’s the giant power dynamic that people give them all the time and how most people seem to make 6 kinda (and I know I’m exaggerating) manipulative in the relationship. At least making him very in charge. Which— I get??? in a way— where people are coming from. But I much more prefer when 6 I put in his place more and actually is told to shut up for once. (I am saying this very affectionately since he is one of my favourite doctors, but we all know that man has some anger issues) And it seems (by the way I viewed it everywhere); that people are not letting 5th do that at all.

It’s also devaluating 5th doc a lot, making him seem very submissive and a pushover. Which he definitely isn’t all the time. (Sure he is one of the softer-ish docs, but this man can be as cold, sassy and dramatic as any of the other docs)

I do think I would genuinely like this ship much more if people didn’t lean into their stereotypes so much and it was more a dynamic of 6 learning to better himself by 5th docs kindness but also (when push comes to shove) suddenly stern nature. But since this isn’t the case, it’s not my cup of tea.

Well— I do have other ships but 2x3 is definitely like; *My OTP* Ya know? These other ships are much more lighthearted:

1st Doc X 12th Doc

I ship these two either seriously or just as a complete crack ship depending on what version of 1st doc we’re talking about. Because the way they portrayed 1st doc in Twice Upon a Time is just— mmmm… Just this extremely boomer old man that doesn’t understand change (which is extremely weird because he’s *a time traveler* I am pretty god damn sure he understands progress) and is weirdly homophobic (which AGAIN, makes no sense). AHEM, if you excuse my rant there a bit— But if it is OG Hartnell 1st Doc x 12th doc, then I can get behind that. It’s like Non-experienced giggly old man x Experienced bamf old man. That’s fun!

6th Doc X 4th Doc

These two would either absolutely love each other or absolutely hate each other. Actually both, and those opinions would fluctuate all the god damned time. 6th would think 4th is creepy af (even if he has memories from being him, it still puts him off guard) and 4th would constantly tell 6th to lighten up a bit. How seriously do I take this ship? Eh.

7th Doc X 9th Doc

One Doc that is very close to but haven’t experienced the time war yet? And one Doc that literally just experienced it? Oh man that would be a very mournful but also extremely protective ship. I don’t actually ship this *that* much since I see both of them (especially 7) as very Aro/Demi Doctors. But the potential is still there and it would make content for very interesting stories to write about them.
