ShiSaku Week: Day 1
Shisui remembered when he first saw her. A young child eager to learn and please, but then he also remembered her demise.
Such a lovely girl to go out the way she did. She was held captive and tortured for information she did not possess.
The rogue ninjas did whatever they wanted to her. They had cut her hair, broken her fingers, pulled out her nails, and so much more.
If only she didn't have the chakra draining cuffs around her wrists, she could have gotten away. Hell, she could have killed them.
Shisui watched over her when it all when down from within the shadows. Oh how he wished to tear out her captives that's. To just give in to his thirst, but he knew that once he did, he'd kill her as well. That he'd be blinded in his hunger to feed that it wouldn't matter who it was as long as it satisfied him.
Back then he could only watch, and pray for her at then lover to save her.
Her screams of her lovers name desperately leave her lips, as the men laughed at her helplessness. It was getting harder to control him self.
Shisui watched for days as her completion became that of a ghost. Her eyes had even become those of a doll, emotionless. Then after the sixth day, she stopped moving in general.
He had broken into her cell that day. He places his finger under her nose, hoping to feel some air, but nothing. He checked her pluse. Nothing.
He broke the chains and held her in his arms. He did not care for the tears that had released from his eyes. For he was mourning that girl he loved. The girl who reminded him of spring. The girl, who gave him reason to protect Konoha from within the dark. She was the reason for fighting his need so that one day he could hold her without killing her.
Now, it didn't matter.
She was gone.
The sound of keys chiming against  one another caught his attention.
He laid her down, brushing away the stray pink sands.
There in the middle of her forehead was the reminisce of her seal, and it was there his lips pressed against.
That kiss had been more than one if longing and sorrow. It had been one that sealed a promise. A promise of vengeance
The guard opens the cell door ready to take her to her hell, but when he saw me he became defensive.
"Who the hell are you," he asked me, eyeing me from behind.
I could hear as his hear rate increased, as I slowly got up from my crouched position.
"You what to know what good about being dead," I asked him, looking over my shoulder.
He was bringing to sweat, and his breathing began to quicken. Oh, this was going to be fun.
I smiled, revealing my fangs, "They never suspect you for murder."
The next thing I knew is my teeth pierced the flesh of his neck, before completely ripping out a cunck of it. Oh how wonderfully it felt to have his his hot blood run down my jaw.
The next thing I knew was I was standing in the middle of several dead dodges. Most have been drain dry. Others unrecognizable.
That was the first and last time I have lost complete control. Centuries have passed and times have changed.
Well for the most part.
"Come on Sakura," a blond girl said, exasperated.
"Ino, you know I can't get out of this marriage," Sakura replied.
"Of course you can, Forehead," Ino began, "You don't need to kill yourself, just kill your fiancé."
"Ino!"
"What? It's better than marrying Sasuke. Who, by the way, is only doing this because he has to. Just like you. Knowing you, you will be giving too much to try and make it work, while he will be giving too little. I'm sorry, but if one of you has to be offed, it has to be Sasuke. I like hanging out with you too much for you to be the one dying," Ino said looking around, before continuing with a smirk, "besides that curly haired cutie, with the umbrella and shades is totally checking you out. Honestly, with the expression he's got, I would say he's been in love with you for centuries."
'She's not wrong,' Shisui thought, as he let a chuckle slip. He stood from his table and began to walk towards the girl's table.
"Ino, shut up please," Sakura said, as her cheeks began to match her hair.
Sakura was well aware of the handsome man staring a hole into the back of her head. She didn't need Ino, to tell her the obvious.
Why couldn't she have normal friends? Was a thought that passed through her mind as she put her head down.
"Excuse me ladies, but I couldn't help but overhear the delema. If you want , I can help you out of it," Shisui said, as he pulled out a business card.
Sakura was the one to review it. The first thing that caught her attention was the last name.
"Uchiha," she questioned, as she looked up at him.
He smiled, and took off his shades. That was the moment when, time seemed to stop. Her emerald eyes locked onto his beautiful onyx ones. She found herself getting lost in in them. Sakura wanted to burn these eyes into her memory, and was surprised to find that in the depths of his eyes lay some red.
'Interesting,' sakura thought, not wanting to break this moment.
"Ahem."
Her friend, Ino, however, was totally willing to spoil it.
"Ah. I'm sorry. Seems I lost my train of thought," he said, running his hand through his curly locks.
"Anyways, yes, Uchiha. You can say I am a long distant cousin," he replied.
Which isn't far from the truth. That is, going back to when he revealed him seft to sasuke all those centuries back before. Oh, how delightful it was to see him again, soaked in the blood of Sakura's captives.
He had sasuke serve him to the end of his time. As it would turn out, Sasuke was really in love with Sakura back then, as he refused shisui's gift of immortality. All to be with his wife in the after life. Not like it was she was his only wife though, Sakura was only the first. The first and only wife he loved. The second, never seemed to take his place, but with her and her children, the Uchiha clan survived.
As for Shisui, he was considered as their protector throughout dark times.
"Wouldn't it be weird to go up against your own family," Ino asked, now seeming to size him up after that little moment he had with her best friend.
"You would be surprised how much influence I have over the family," he replied, with a sweet smile.
"Well then, nice to meet you Uchiha-san," Sakura said, sanding from her seat to shake his hand.
"Likewise, miss," he trailed off, pretending he had not learned her name, as he grasped her hand.
They both decided it was best to ignore the spark, that coursed through them the minute their hands met.
"Haruno Sakura, but please, call me sakura."
"Then please, call me Shisui."
"I looked forward to working with you, Shisui," she said, forcing herself to let go of his hand.
Shisui sent her a smile, as he relished in the way his name left her lips. For, it hasn't been since her first life that she had said his name.
"I'll let you two ladies continue on with your day. Please feel free to drop by my office whenever," he said, as he left the girl's.
He listened as her friend barrage her with questions on their exchange. Leave it to the best friend to notice something was there in during their talk.
Shisui was excited. In her past life, he was unable to protect or care for her the way he wanted, but in this life. This life held new opportunities. Opportunities he wasn't going to pass up.

Happy ShiSaku Week!
Day 3 @shisakuweek
Prompt: Apple a day
Warnings: filthy fluff
Words: 2464
Read on AO3
Sakura sets her bags on the counter and starts unpacking them, putting away the groceries as she settles back into her apartment. Her stress from working a double shift and overnight at the hospital is melting off her shoulders as the comforting smell of home surrounds her. She's not there for long when Shisui rounds the corner from the hall to meet her in the kitchen.
"Hey babe!" He smiles, coming to greet her with a quick peck to her temple. "Welcome home."
"Hey there yourself," she chuckles warmly and leans into his touch. She's surprised to see him here at this hour. It's so early in the day the moon is still out, the sun has barely joined them on the horizon. She's surprised to see him at all, really. Wasn't he away on a mission?
"When did you get back?"
"Just a few hours ago, but you were at the hospital so I thought I'd just wait here for you." He pauses, "I, uh, hope that's okay."
This is relatively new to them. It's only been a few months since they started seeing each other, and dropping in unexpected on each other is an even newer habit they've formed.
"Of course, Shisui. I'm always happy to see you," she reassures. She sets a new package of tea into the cupboard where it belongs while Shisui begins attempting to help her put the groceries away. "Oh, leave it. I'm starving. I've got to cook something before I can sleep."
He takes a seat across the island counter from her instead and watches her as she gets to work. Never one to sit in silence, he tries to fill the space with small talk.
"How was work?" He asks as he starts to fidget with the empty fruit bowl sitting in from of him. Oh, maybe he'd eaten the three apples that were there when he got back. Kind of an odd snack, but whatever. She'd have to remember to get some more if he liked them that much.
"Hectic, as always. I had to do emergency surgery right as I was getting ready to leave last night. I ended up having to stay overnight to keep the patient stable." She keeps flitting around the kitchen as she prepares a quick meal for them both, rightfully assuming he'd join her since he's never turned down a meal before.
He's learned not to offer her help with the cooking anymore. Not since the last disastrous attempt that ended with him needing six stitches on his left hand. So instead he sits happily and watches her, with that same dreamy faraway look in his eyes that Sakura has learned is admiration.
"Dang, that sounds crazy," he mutters, leaning his chin onto his hand, elbow resting on the counter. She smirks at him, he didn't hear a thing she said. He's too busy looking at her and zoning out.
"It was," she chuckles and sets both finished bowls on the counter, sliding one over to him then going to fish out two sets of chopsticks from the drawer. He offers his thanks as she hands him a pair and they immediately dig in.
"Did you eat all my apples?" She asks, halfway through her early morning dinner.
"What? No- I- I don't even like apples," he stutters. He's pointedly looking down at his food like he has something to hide, and she catches onto the odd behavior immediately.
"Then where did they go? Hm?" Sakura focuses on him entirely, moving her bowl aside and leaning towards him across the counter. She notices the top of his ears turning pink as she enters his personal space. She lets a mischievous smile grace her lips and tilts her chin up, staring down her nose at him. He's actually blushing now, but he breaks away from the eye contact to try and escape. Suddenly his food is very interesting.
"Shisui," she warns, "I'm not going to be upset about you coming home from a mission and gorging yourself on apples at 3 in the morning." She giggles at the mental image of him ravenously eating fruit in her dark apartment.
He huffs and looks up and away from her, "I didn't eat any apples."
"Alright, alright. Finish your food, then we can get some sleep."
And that's that. She'll leave the matter alone for now.
///
Sakura spots Shisui a couple produce stalls down from where she's currently perusing an impressive display of various vegetables. He's speaking to the stall owner there in a hushed tone, with a small sense of urgency. She sees him give the man some ryo in exchange for seemingly nothing. Wonder what that's about, she thinks. As if he senses her proximity, he instantly locks eyes with her and smiles. Then, drawn to her like a magnet, he soon joins her in her chore and buzzes around the market with her. He laughs and picks various things out for himself and her, telling jokes and gently teasing Sakura as they go. Sakura loves to be with him in moments like these. Loves watching him interact with all the merchants that treat her like family. The shopkeepers that helped keep an eye on her when she was a little girl, dashing around on market days trying to be anywhere but at her parents' own stall. She blushes at all their knowing looks when they catch her smiling and staring at him just existing. He pays for a pear as he takes a large bite of it. She's mesmerized as she watches the juice slip down his chin. Stares longingly as his tongue flicks out to catch it. She shakes her thoughts away quickly as he approaches her to offer her a bite of it as well. She doesn't think he meant to tease her with his bite, but she's going to try her best to tease him back anyway. She grabs hold of his wrist to steady his movement, instead of taking the pear from him. She looks up at him through her lashes and watches the blush creep across his cheeks as she wraps her lips around the pear. She quickly flicks her tongue across the tip of one of his fingers before she sinks her teeth into the pear's ripe flesh. She knows she's won when she pulls away and spots him staring at her with his mouth open.
One of the ladies behind the nearest stall giggles and breaks him from his stupor. Sakura smiles sweetly at him, feigning innocence as she turns to move on from their little display.
She's almost collected everything she needs when she remembers to restock on the apples that mysteriously vanished and definitely weren't eaten by Shisui. She makes her last stop to the vendor she usually buys them from, the very same man she spotted Shisui speaking to earlier.
She's looking at the fruit he has on display when Shisui rejoins her.
"No apples today, Keisuke-san?" she asks, not noticing the pointed look going from Shisui to the vendor.
"Not today, Sakura-chan, my apologies." She smiles at the cutesy way he's said her name since she was a kid. She starts to say something more but he's looking at Shisui when he speaks and Sakura spots a bead of sweat dripping down the side of his face. Sakura looks to Shisui who tries to stop glaring at the man in front of them quickly enough not to be caught doing it. That's…odd. She vows to herself to interrogate Shisui later and turns back to Keisuke the fruit vendor. She said something about how that's too bad or maybe next time, she can't really remember because she was too busy trying to suss out Shisui. Instead she buys some oranges from Keisuke and adds them to her bags, ready to head home with her grocery haul.
///
Sakura is casually throwing kunai at various targets with Itachi in semi-comfortable silence when Shisui finally appears as if from no where to join them. He was supposed to be here twenty minutes ago.
"Hey guys, sorry I'm late!" Shisui continues to rattle off excuses to Itachi who, at least to Sakura, is very clearly not listening.
They're all here as part of Shisui's grand idea for them all to be the best of friends. Sakura initially rolled her eyes and tried to fight him at his offer to get Itachi to help with her genjutsu training. But when pouted at her with his deep, dark eyes through long, dark eyelashes and muttered, 'I just want my two favorite people to like each other,' she couldn't exactly say no.
So here they are.
Itachi and Sakura were too unfamiliar with each other to initiate training without Shisui present, so they've been spending the time doing a whole lot of nothing. He'd been casually stretching for a while then joined her in target practice. Now that Shisui was there they could get started.
They'd spent around an hour throwing various genjutsu of varying levels at her until they reached a level she could no longer detect. Then they'd spent another two hours aiming higher and teaching her to break through. After a particularly grueling and cruel genjutsu of Itachi's, it was finally time to stop for lunch.
Itachi steps off to the side of the training grounds to retrieve the three bentos he'd prepared and arrived with while Sakura catches her breath. She's kneeling in the dirt and breathing hard when Shisui appears in front of her, a steady hand on her shoulder helping to ground her back in reality.
"I'm okay. I'm okay," she repeats as she shakes her entire head as if the violent movement would scare away any lingering maleffects. Itachi returns with her water bottle and offers it to her. She takes it and drinks deeply, simultaneously bringing two fingers to her temple to redistribute the chakra and soothe her headache.
"Wish I could do that," Shisui chuckles, observing her instant headache relief happen in real time. She's able to smile again now that the pain is receding, so she does. At both of them.
"I could try to teach you, but I've been told I'm not a very patient teacher…" Shisui laughs at that and takes the food offered by Itachi as they all settle in a loose circle.
"I'd say you have plenty of patience, Sakura-san," Itachi offers, "based on who you're dating."
Shisui gasps at the affront and reacts as if Itachi's just stabbed him in the gut. Doubling over in pain as Sakura laughs at the absurdity of the exchange. She quickly gathers the food from Itachi while Shisui is literally rolling in his own dramatics. Itachi's smile is barely there but it's still more than she's ever seen him smile before.
"Itachi, I will never forget this betrayal." Shisui groans as he claws his way back to a sitting position. Sakura giggles at his antics some more as Itachi sets down the rest of the food within reaching distance of them all.
"Thank you for the food, Itachi-san," Sakura manages to say in between giggles, right before she digs in to her meal. He simply hums in response.
She's looking down at her bento when a blur of movement catches her eye and she looks up quickly to see Shisui attempting to hide something behind his back. Itachi didn't fail to notice either.
"Put that back, Shisui. What are you doing?”
"What? I'm not doing anything!" Shisui turns his shoulders to face Itachi in an attempt to better hide what's behind his back from him.
"Shisui, we both saw you."
"You didn't see anything," Shisui tries, narrowing his eyes at Itachi with conviction. He's not convincing at all considering he's still got both hands behind his back, holding onto whatever he's taken. Sakura's curious now so she leans over to try and see if she can see what he's hiding. He's facing one way so she leans the other and she can just see something red in his hand before he turns to block her instead.
"Whatcha got there, Shisui?" She asks, playfully. She's already set aside her bento in favor of whatever Shisui's up to and is now crawling towards him. He squares up his shoulders like that will stop her advance, adamantly keeping his hands behind his back and tightly gripping his prize. She's almost crawled into his lap when Itachi reaches behind Shisui and grabs the apple from him.
"Hey-" he's scrambling after Itachi and manages to snag the apple back quickly, using Itachi's confusion to his advantage. Shisui curses and mutters lowly, "Get that out of here-" then he finishes his point by throwing the apple far across the field they were sitting in.
"What."
Sakura is so confused. Why did Shisui just throw that poor apple as far as he could and what did it ever do to him. In fact what is his deal with apples? This is far from the first time he's been weird about them-
"Are you seriously still on this." Itachi says. It should be a question, but there's no inflection in his voice. He knows Shisui better. It's not a question.
"Uhh-"
"On what, exactly?" Sakura questions, arching an eyebrow at Shisui. "Why did you throw that apple?"
"I, uh, told you before," Shisui raises his hand to scratch the back of his head and ruffle his curls, "I don't like apples."
Itachi is blatantly glaring at Shisui in disbelief. Sakura looks between the two of them waiting for an explanation. It had better be a good one.
"So…" Shisui begins, looking sheepishly at Sakura with his hands in his lap, "You know how they say, 'an apple a day keeps the doctor away'? Well, uhh- I thought-"
"Because you're a doctor," Itachi finishes.
Itachi looks at Sakura with a facial expression that reads as 'can you believe this doofus' and she finds that yes, yes she can. She cracks up and starts laughing, small at first but quickly escalating to a full belly laugh. Shisui's smiling at her mirth, happy and proud to have made her day a little brighter no matter the cause. Itachi just shakes his head with a scoff and goes back to eating his lunch. Sakura finishes crawling towards Shisui and places her hands on his thighs, leaning in for a quick kiss between her giggles.
"You're such a dork." She giggles softer now, and kisses him again. "I'm not going anywhere, no matter how many apples you eat."
Shisui places both hands on Sakura's cheeks and kisses her firmly before pulling her away from him.
"You think I'm charming."
She snorts and pulls herself away from his lap, intent on returning to her lunch.
She does.

Shisakuweek 2023 - Day One
Prompts: Mafia AU, Monster, Don’t Kill Yourself, Kill Your Fiancée
Rating: M
Warnings/Triggers: Graphic Violence; Major Character Death; Forced Engagement
Posted on: Ao3
Monster Among Us
The dark streets could not deter her, the fear of what she knew to be behind her outweighing the possibility of what lurked in the shadows. Her sneakers slapped against the pavement as she turned right, desperation fueling the adrenaline through her veins. Don’t look back.
She could hear his footsteps as he followed, his pace just less than her own as he tracked her through the underbelly off the village. Her need to stay alive kept her just out of his range, but his uncanny ability to predict her next move kept him ever-present in the chase.
Chest heaving, Sakura knew she was getting winded. Her energy was already low from her shift at the hospital. Then the meeting was called, her presence required in attendance according to her fiancée. Disgust welled within her at the thought of his sadistic sneer when she had refused to capitulate to his demands.
A split second decision had her diving to the ground, rolling her slight frame under the low sitting automobile. Her shoulder was jarred harshly and she barely managed to keep the cry of pain back. Scooting as far as she could to the center of the underside of the vehicle, Sakura stilled her entire body, curling into herself. Her breath ceased to exist as her lungs halted, the steady thrum of her heartbeat wildly crashing against her ribcage the only sound coming from the woman. She did not blink, eyes riveted to the ground she had fallen to less than a moment before.
The sound of his expensive shoes pounding the pavement sounded harshly close, fear escalating as he slowed slightly. At the front end of the car, she could see the shiny leather of his dress shoes. He turned one way for a brief moment, then to the other. “Fuck.” His voice was soft as he swore, his frustration evident in the slight stomp as he turned each way repeatedly.
He shifted before stopping, the sound of a phone flipping open before several beeps. Vaguely, she could make out two rings before the voice that haunted her nightmares could be heard. “You have her, Shisui?”
A breathless huff escaped the man hunting her. “She escaped. I trailed her to Mikazuki District, but she’s gone, Boss.”
“Hn.” The dark chuckle heard – even from a distance – twisted Sakura’s insides in terror. “As expected of my darling fiancée. Who does she know in Mikazuki District, Shisui?”
Shisui paced back and forth in front of the car, seemingly agitated at the fact that he had failed in apprehending the woman. A drawn out sigh before Shisui answered, “I believe Naruto-kun is residing on this side of the city, now.”
“Ah, the Hyuuga girl he’s dating.” A chill raced up Sakura’s spine as the man on the other side of the conversation accurately predicted her contact, fear seizing her heart at the implication of what they would be willing to do to her precious people if they suspected their assistance was given to her. “Her uncle is the head of the Family. If Sakura reaches them, she’s as good as gone.” A pause as he deliberated. “She knows too much, Shisui. If you cannot bring her in safely, you know your orders.”
“Count it done, Boss.” Shisui ended the call, his foot anxiously tapping the ground. From the sounds of it, he had pulled out a cigarette. The flick of a lighter confirmed his choice of stress relief, the sound of him dragging hard on the end of the cigarette telling just how much this night was affecting his normally calm disposition. His exhale was loud and drawn out as he took a few steps away from the car before stopping.
Sakura refused to budge, knowing from firsthand experience how sensitive this man’s senses were, especially when he was attuned to his surroundings. Her fingers tightened into a fist, fear palpable as Shisui grunted. “You’re kidding me.” His words were indicative of the next move, but Sakura was still frozen as Shisui lowered himself. His head was leveled to the ground, dark eyes quickly adjusting and locking on her form huddled in the shadows. “Sakura-chan.”
“No!” Sakura rolled to the curb as Shisui reached under the car, her lithe body pressing tight against the cement barrier in an attempt to escape his grasping fingers. Try as she might, in mere seconds, his hand found purchase in her clothing. Dragging her out was the only way, kicking and screaming. “No, please, Shisui!” She lashed out with her feet, striking him in his solid chest. He did not hesitate, forcing her from under the car – face pressed into the pavement as he forced her arms behind her back.
The side of her face mashed into the unforgiving cement was a stark reminder of what she was up against, the loose pieces of roadtop digging into her skin without mercy. Tears rose unbidden as she thrashed against his hold, her pleas falling on deaf ears.
“You did this to yourself, Sakura-chan.” Shisui’s voice was grim as he tied her hands behind her back with the ties he carried on his person at all times. “You knew what attempting to walk away from the family means, Sweetheart.”
“Fuck you, Shisui!” Sakura blustered, railing against the man who would drag her back to her death. “You know what kind of monster he is! I couldn’t do it, anymore!”
Shisui gazed down at the woman, shaking her harshly – once, twice – to get her attention. A dark scowl marred his beautiful features as he assessed her, seeming to weigh something carefully before he hauled her up and gently guided her forward. “I’m sorry, Sakura-chan.” He muttered, his voice tinged with genuine regret. “You are the boss’ woman. He wants you back at the compound.”
Sakura’s sobs were quiet as she followed his guidance, no longer fighting as he lead her several streets down to the sleek black car waiting for him. Opening the door, he allowed her the dignity of climbing into the vehicle unassisted. As soon as she was seated, he followed before buckling her in.
The driver started up the vehicle, pulling away from the curb at Shisui’s quiet direction. Sakura laid her head back, exhaustion catching up with her as she stared up at the roof. A resigned huff, followed by a despondent chuckle. “I never imagined going on one date would lead to all his.” She murmured, eyes closing as she lamented her future. “I should have said no to coffee, that day.”
Shisui stared out the window, the only sign of his agitation the curling of his fist hidden from her view.
“What’s the plan?” Sakura asked softly, head rolling to the side to gauge his profile. Her eyes were shadowed, the hidden stressers of life among the Uchiha Family showing physically upon her. “Don’t lie to me, Shisui. I know being his fiancée only affords me so much leniency.”
Shisui twitched, jaw clenching as he refused to turn to her. “There are a lot of factors for the boss to consider, Sakura-chan.” He murmured, itching to pull out and light another cigarette. “You’re medical skills and your history with the family. The ties to important families and organizations.”
Sakura laughed darkly at that, her genuine mirth at the situation showcasing how close she was to crumbling completely. Her voice shook as she responded, “None of that is going to matter to that monster, Shisui. I have reached my breaking point and I’m no longer entertaining to the Head of the Uchiha Mafia.” She bared her teeth as he turned to her with a worried look. “We both know exactly what I’m going back to.”
Shisui leveled a look at her, understanding deep in his eyes. There was no hiding it, she was returning to either bow to the boss’ wishes or she would be on her knees for her execution. His hand twitched as she stared at him, warring with himself.
A sigh of resignation as his head lowered, eyes slipping closed. The decision was truthfully an easy one, he realized. His lips curled beautifully as he ordered the driver to pull over, eyes lifting to the pink-haired woman. “I’m sorry, Sakura-chan.”
Shisui entered the room the boss’ and lieutenants were in, each man arguing their points of conversation. Quite a few were missing from attendance, probably out assisting in the search. Trying to be heard among the men of Uchiha blood was like trying to verbally contend with a pack of rabid banshees – until they were ordered to, they didn’t shut up. He stood at the door, his right hand holding the base of his charge’s neck to keep her still.
It took a moment, but the entire roomful of dark eyes turned to the two of them. Raised voices jeered Shisui, congratulating him on securing the boss’ runaway woman. A pair of satisfied dark eyes – the only ones that truly mattered – watched from his seated position at the head of the table. His feet were kicked up as he leaned back nonchalantly, elbows resting on the arms of the chair as he tented his fingers together over his chest.
Shisui’s hand tightened in the hair at the base of her skull, tilting her head back to expose her throat in a sign of forced submission. “Stand at attention.” He hissed in her ear, jerking up so she had to go to her tippy toes to contend with the difference in height. “You’ve already embarrassed me enough for one night. Show the boss the respect he deserves.”
Sakura was forced to walk forward, her muscles screaming at the taut stretch she was forced to endure to keep from being dragged. As she was brought before the boss, the Head of the Uchiha Family, Shisui released his grip on her hair. His hand shifted to grasp her neck as he pulled out a chair across from the long-haired man, pushing down harshly for her to collapse into the seat.
Her baleful glare did not falter from that of her fiancée, choosing to ignore the rough treatment of his second-in-command.
“Sakura.” The voice was deep, soft as velvet as his sinfully beautiful lips tilted up in amusement. “How wonderful to see you, again, Love."
“Tch.” Sakura’s snort was followed by her baring her teeth at the man. “Trust me, it doesn’t go both ways, asshole.”
A perfectly sculpted brow hiked as his deep laughter filled the room. “This is why I chose you, Love.” He leaned forward, his feet planting on the floor. “Your spirit matches your intelligence. Perfect for the next Matriarch.”
“Fuck off, Izuna.” Sakura sneered, hiding the hammering of her heart with boisterous words. “If death means avoiding being your wife, I welcome it.”
Izuna stood, the change in his demeanor immediate. His men backed away as he circled the table slowly, coming to a stop at her side. Sakura refused to turn her head, facing forward resolutely.
Leaning down, Izuna grasped her chin and forcibly jerked her head to him. “Look at me, Love.” He murmured, the cold tone barely concealing the anger that lay beneath. Emerald eyes flickered to his, passing over the stoic look on his face, to his lips, then back up to meet his gaze, again. “You shouldn’t speak of things you are unprepared to face.” Sakura remained quiet, resolute in her silent defiance. She grimaced as his grip shifted, hand sliding up the curve of her cheek to card his fingers through her loose hair. “Now that you’ve returned, we have to decide what to do with you, Love.” He tilted his head to the side, a coy smile gracing his lips.
Sakura inwardly marveled at him, for he was truly beautiful when he relaxed. His smiles and gentle manner were what had initially drew her in, the respect and reverence he was capable of when he tried something that had hooked her heart quickly. It was only when he showed his true colors that she had realized just how dark his world was – how deeply he had drug her too fast, too late.
“Don’t kill yourself on my account, Izuna.” She bared her teeth at him in a momentary show of defiant courage. “After all, killing one’s fiancée is so much more your style.”
Izuna’s eyes flashed dangerously, the only warning she was given before his hand shifted once more to wrap around the slender expanse of her throat. A gasp choked from her lips as he tipped the chair back, slamming it with her to the ground. The back of her head smacked sharply on the concrete, stars and light exploding in her vision.
He was bent over her as she struggled to breathe through both the grip tightening over her esophagus and the pain swimming around her skull. “Care to repeat that, Love?”
The barrel of a gun was pressed to the side of Izuna’s head, a loud click reverberating through the room as Shisui cocked the gun. “I think she was quite clear, Bossman.”
Izuna didn’t look away from Sakura’s gaze, a grim set to his lips as he knelt on one knee beside her pained form. “I see your Knight has once again arisen, Love. I was wondering how long it would take before he couldn’t resist the urge to mount up.” A cold sneer as Shisui’s gun pressed hard to his skull. “You know what you’re doing, Shisui?”
“Of course he does.” Sakura croaked out from his relenting grip, shifting away from him as best she could.
As the men in the room moved forward, Izuna could clearly see what was different. All the men present were ones with questionable loyalty to his leadership. Inwardly, he seethed as he realized the setup – for all these men had shown clear and defined respect to the former Clan Head. The one he had not hesitated to execute in cold blood after he had attempted to quietly step down and leave the Family organization.
Izuna watched Sakura as she was assisted up from the chair, the ropes tying her hands behind her back cut. She gave a relieved sigh, rubbing the gentle appendages to restore circulation faster. His brows drew together as she gave Shisui a soft smile in thanks.
“You look confused, Izuna.” Sakura turned to the kneeling man, eyes turned cold. The shadows under her eyes displayed how tired she truly was. Holding out her hand to a woman, she accepted the gun placed in her waiting palm. Without breaking eye contact, she gripped the handle, cocking the gun and leveling it between his eyes. “I guess that’s what you get for killing my real fiancée.” The dark smile that turned up her lips surprised Izuna, his eyes widening in true understanding far too late. “This is for Itachi, our true Oyabun.”
The echoing gunshot pierced the silence of the room, followed quickly by a thud as a lifeless body fell back limply to the ground. Blood splattered her face and clothes, but Sakura stood resolute with the smoking gun still raised as she watched the stream of life fluid flow from the hold in Izuna’s skull.
A deep breath before she lowered the gun and turned, a relieved smile as she collapsed into Shisui’s waiting arms. “It’s over.” She exclaimed, almost in disbelief as she dropped the gun to wrap her arms around Shisui’s shoulders. “He’s gone, Shisui. It’s finally over.”
Shisui tucked her head under his chin, holding her close as the tremors started to shake her body. He knew it was only too soon before the realization would settle in what she had finally done. Yes. His eyes slid closed as he sent a thankful prayer to Itachi. It’s over, Itachi. She’s out. We’re out.
It was as a young man stepped forward that the older Uchiha turned, a nod to the man who would be appointed soon to take over of the family – as he should have at the death of his elder brother at Izuna’s hand. Uchiha Sasuke gazed at his childhood friend with respect. “Sakura, Shisui.” He grinned, reaching forward to accept Shisui’s outstretched hand in a firm handshake. “As punishment for turning on the Family, you are both stripped of your ranks and recognitions. You are banned from any active gatherings or social services, you are no longer a part of this family. You will not receive any financial gain from our contacts or operations, any funds you currently privately hold are yours to keep.” His eyes glittered as he gave Sakura and his brother’s best friend the only gift he could. “You are excommunicated from the Uchiha Family. You will not be pursued or harmed in any way, ever. Please leave and never return.”
Sakura peaked out from the shadow of Shisui’s shoulder, her grateful smile apparent. Tears streamed down her face as the two of them turned to Sasuke, bowing deeply before they left the compound.
It was over.

Sakura returned to work the following month, after a long deserved vacation in the desert oasis’ of Suna. Her life moved on as she finally accepted the death of the man who loved her enough to give up the only life he knew. Death, secrets and darkness were what he had known – what he had walked away from for the Life, truth and light her love had offered.
Now as Sakura went home, she took comfort in the second chance at love she had been afforded. Her quiet life with Shisui was not perfect, but it was something that Itachi would have been happy and proud of them for following.

ShiSaku Week: Day 2
"Sakura, for once in your dawn life, be honest with yourself," Shisui pleaded, as his hands held his grasp around her shoulders.
"Shisui please-"
She didn't even get to finish what se was going to say.
She beautiful green eyes teared as she looked into his onyx ones. There was so much love. So much longing that his eyes held, and Sakura, despite wanting to return his affection, couldn't.
"You should be honest with yourself, admit it. Admit that you love me, that you want to spend the rest of your life with me. Please, just say it, and I promise, can can take you away from here. I would take us to where the on one can keep us away from eachother. Sakura, please... I love you," he confessed, as he brought her into his embrace; hiding his face within three crook of her neck.
Sakura at this point was in tears. She wanted nothing more than to be with Shisui. She really did, but she was already betrothed.
As it would turn out, her parents had already promised her to a close friend's son somewhere in the sand village when she was born. Apparently, they had some well established connections throughout elemental nations, and helped the Haruno's business take off.
She and her suitor haven't spoken, and for 18 yeats she knew nothing of it. The news hit her like a truck. At that time, she had already been dating Shisui for 3 years. With her parents fully aware of it.
Apparently, they had hoped that with time, her suitor would want to break off they engagement. However, after getting a letter a month before her 18th birthday stating the opposite. It even stated that if the marriage did not go through, then their business would be in danger.
Thus, they were forced to deliver bad news.
The couple's breakup was one that left untreated wounds within their hearts.
It was worse, since Sakura never told Shisui why she wanted to breakup. They had met up, and the bomb was dropped. She gave no explanation. She simply said, "Let's break up," in the most quietest voice he's ever heard from her.
There was a silent pause. Shisui, felt like the world was caving in on him. He went through his memories trying to find any reason as to why she'd want to split.
It was when she started to leave did he break out of his spell.
Catching her wrist, he said, "Sakura please talk to me. I'm sure we can work this out. Just tell me. If it was something I did, I promise I won't  do it again. However, I'd need to know what it was so I don't do it."
Sakura, was silent. Her pink hid her face, as she stared at the concrete floor. She didn't want him to see the tears beginning form. The moment he'd see she was about to cry would only make this whole situation worse.
Shisui would bring her close. He'd holder hold her and tell her to let it out. Then he'd get her to talk, and possibly commit murder.
She didn't want that last bit for him.
Rather than letting any of that happen, Sakura broke free from his grasp.
That was two weeks ago.
Had it not been for her two best loudmouth, drunk, blonde friends and his cousin, sasuke; Shisui would have not have any clue into her predicament. In fact he'd still be bar hopping and taking on dangerous missions as to cope with the heartache.
Now this is where they are.
Sakura standing on top of the Hokage monument, in the arms of the man she loves wholeheartedly. She wanted nothing more than to be with him, but she also didn't want her parents' business to be destroyed because of her selfishness.
It was because of that business that she was able to go to the academy, that she was able to have weapons,  clothes, food, and a home.
Sure, there were times when either or both parents were gon for days on end while she stayed behind, but she knew the reasons as to why they had to do it.
Pulling away, Sakura brought her hand up to carrass his face. She wanted to burn his face into her memory. From the faint beauty mark that hid on his right eyelid, just below the brow, to the way his eyes softened when they met her's.
"Shisui, they'd still manage to find us. Besides, it is my duty to marry that man," she said, with a heartbroken smile.
"Sakura-"
"I love you Shisui. If I could marry you, I'd do it in a heartbeat. My only hope is to find you in our next life, and pray that we have far better chance of being together."
"In every lifetime,  universe, dimension, or world, I will find you; and I will always find a way to be with you. This I promise you, Sakura Haruno,' he promised before pressing his lips against the purple diamond on her forehead.

Delightful Days
prompt : hogwarts au
warning : non
words count : 978 words
@shisakuweek
"Did you know that sakura-sensei from a commoner family?"sasuke asked out of no wear, "no way, you mean she's a mudblood?", "shut up dope, that word is forbidden" their hissing reached the potions class teacher, who by the chance happened to be the subject of there gossip but lucky them she didn't get what they were saying "care to share your gossip with me and the class Mr.Uchiha and Mr.Uzumaki?" her voice startled them."we're sorry sinsei, teme was talking about random meaningless things","good. No , great actually. Both of you feel free to hand me a full report about protection potions by the end of tomorrow, oh and I almost forgot minus point for slytherin and gryffindor" and sadly that didn't stop them from talking but instead it made their voices get louder and louder by each word they barked at each other witch irritated her "silence you two or i will delete more ten points from each of your houses, eleven by sum" she screamed and released some of her magical aura, scare the whole class to death "Sheesh, I don't even know how you ended being friends".
It was hard to believe that sakura came from commoner family simply because she was prodigy, mastering every single subject related about magic from the first try, becoming a professor in hogwarts at age of 19 years old catching the eyes of the head of the majestic uchiha family, that's the reason why she was allowed to be the first commoner born introduced as an Uchiha shisui girl. "you know dope, I once heard shisu talking to nii-san about his relationship with sakura", "you know teme, she's our teacher now, you should show more respect", "but she's just sakura", "that's the point, I mean she's already 2 years older, and now! Now she's completely our superior and i don't think shisui like the way you call her out the classes", "that's far from what I was trying to tell you dope, I heard him saying to itatchi-nii that she can make him freeze in his spot with one word", "WOW, shisui frozen in his place? I would love to see that. What Is it? Is it some kind of charm or something?", "I don't know, they walked away before I could hear any thing else", "WHAT? THEN WHY DID YOU TELL ME THIS", "you're really loud, shut up. I told you so that we can investigate it. I must know what that word is".
Sakura was used to the eyes that follow her where ever she goes, she was also used to feel someone trace her around, and the times when the student call out for her were countless, boys for confessions which irritate shisui and girls to know more about her famous love story which made her smile like an idiot but eventually answering them because she sees that there story is magical. From her senior to her teacher and now colleague not to mention his ancient proud family while she was from common birth, that she knew in not very good way that they were called mudblood. There were 2 pair of eyes sticking to her back for quite some time and she didn't like it. Who ever were her follower they weren't trying to approach her for any reason, they were spying on her, she knew who they were and didn't like it not even a bit.
"my blossom, how was your day?" beamed shisui cheerfully when he saw sakura approaching from the end of the corridor, "good,it was good"she answered tiredly then he leaned over to kiss her lips softly and murmured "there are two rats following you", "yeah, I know but sadly didn't know why","shall we ask them?","will you ask them for me,daddy?" for split of second shisui was frozen, but luckily he collected  himself as fast as could and clear his throat "then I shall bring them in front of us".
The time that took him to but the brats in there spot  was less than three seconds, "you know saskue usually I'm less irritated from seeing you than this time, same goes for you naruto. Care to explain why you were following my sakura around since the morning?", "we weren't following her", they heard high bitchy laugh and it was sakura turn to talk "listen uchiha! don't you dare to underestimate me, not approaching you was because i really wanted you to do it, now why were you both following me around?" lucky them or not sakura's hobby was interrogation and poor naruto wasn't really good in keeping his mouth shut under pressure "we were trying to know the spell that worked against shisui and allowed you to freeze him" he half screamed making sakura and shisui give them a look as if they were aliens and burst out laughing " OMG, a spill working on shisui, that's the funniest joke I've ever heard in such a long time", "where did you get such idea sasu-chan?", sasuke couldn't hold his sulk "what made you assume it was my idea", "cause it sound  like you".
They were preparing themselves to bed when sakura suddenly asked "really where do you think they got that idea, I mean they're not that creative or imaginative", "I think sasu-chan heard a part of my speech with itachi the other day". He reached to grab her waist murmuring sweetly in her ears "I don't want to sleep early tonight", "but you must to, we have a date tomorrow and I don't want you to sleep on me".
Once they where in their bed shisui decided to ask her the question that had been roaming around his mind for the last week "say blossom, what would you say if I told you that I want to spend the rest of my life waking up to you?", "I would absolutely say yes ".
.
.
hello again, how are you today?
I don’t have much to say today, it’s just I felt that I can write more chapters related to this, you know like a novel not just oneshot
if you think it might work out, and if you would like to read more of it please tell me, and I’ll be  thankful for you. Big love

Happy ShiSaku Week!!!
Day 7(I know it's a lil late) @shisakuweek
Title: Surrender
Prompt: (sorry) Murder
Warnings: YES (character death, murder, blood, violence, ANGST)
Words: 2,282
Read on AO3
What a shit job. The estate was quiet in the night, just the silent shuffle of the regular guard and the occasional snap of a deer scare to fill the void. Nothing about the preliminary outline of this job he'd accepted had suggested he'd have any trouble finding his target, let alone have to follow them back to a guarded estate. He should have realized the payment promised for what was labeled as 'simple assassination' was too good to be true.
He'd been scoping the place for a few nights now, he knew when the guards changed, he knew the exits, the layout, he knew exactly where she should be. His weapon was ready; the poison, the antidote. It wouldn't be easy to get to her though, not with the amount of obstacles to get through.
Maybe he should rethink the importance of actually finishing this job. He could just leave now, call the whole thing quits. Head back to their rendezvous point and maybe get to spend some time together for once before they had to go and find separate jobs again. It was the vicious cycle they'd been caught in for years now. Both of them having cut their ties to their village, him after nearly being dragged into a massacre, losing an eye, and finding out it was all sanctioned by the Hokage himself, her after discovering the truth of it years later. And then that they'd found each other after he'd been in hiding for so many years– happenstance. The odds they'd stay together, laughably small.
It had been almost two months since they'd seen each other. Had always been safer to take different jobs in separate places. All he wanted was to keep his head down. He was a missing-nin with more than just the average ANBU after him. At this point he hoped they thought he was dead. Really, truly, dead. But he knew if the wrong person spotted him out in the world, they'd be after him faster than he could prepare himself and Sakura to get away. He refused to use his Sharingan anymore. The weapon he was born with, his most recognizable trait. The most feared aspect of himself, that would always scare people away from him. He managed to scare them away well enough without it. He attributed some of that to the scars he carried and the cloth headband he wore to cover the gaping void that once held his eye. His hair was no longer soft and short, it was outgrown, roughly cut and roughly kept. It was harder for him to smile these days. It was fine, he didn't need to be approachable. In fact, he tried not to be.
Sakura, however, was adored in every village she stopped in. Sometimes she offered protection, sometimes she offered them cheap medical care, usually in exchange for room and board only. She was loved and protected by them. They regaled her as a hero.
He was just her shadow.
Not a constant one, one that appeared on the rarest of nights. There was always mentions of the pink-haired doctor saving people, he could track her on rumor alone. Seizing every chance he had to cross paths with her. Slipping in when she was finally alone, raising her alarms so she knew he was there. The game of cat and mouse they'd always play as she pretended he was a true intruder, before laughing and dropping the pretense entirely in favor of trading rushed kisses and reminding each other why it was all worth it.
They worked apart so they could stay together. They were both wanted criminals, both wanted for the crime of demanding justice and being refused. No one they'd met in their travels would ever turn Sakura in, and he was protected by proxy. He wished he could always stay by her side, he had dreams of staying in one place, growing a garden; having a home again. Someplace she could treat patients safely without the risk that their discovery would ruin everything. But that's all they were, dreams. His only skill was killing, The Leaf made sure of that.
And so he killed.
He killed for money. He killed for justice. He killed because it was all he'd ever known.
And here he was, ready to kill again.
It was time to move, the current guard was growing tired and reckless. The new guard would cycle in soon. He had plenty of time to slip past their fading defenses before the fresh faced, bright-eyed replacements took their places.
He knocked out a few of them on his way to the inner sanctum of the estate, stashing away their sleeping forms quickly so they wouldn't be discovered before he could get out of there. He kept out of sight as he worked his way in to the east inner gardens. The target was some noble man's daughter, that truth only evident now as he found his way to her rooms. He wove a quick genjutsu over the shoji door before he slipped inside.
There was a personal attendant sleeping nearby on a small, comfortable futon. Without taking another step forward, he quietly placed a second genjutsu over the girl to assure she wouldn't hear anything amiss or wake up anytime soon.
Quickly, he moved to the larger, more extravagant bed in the center of the room. In the center of the mattress, surrounded by pillows and silk sheets lay his target. A young, seemingly helpless woman. He imagined sighing at the ridiculous notion of himself, a trained assassin, standing over the sleeping body of a delicate, nobly raised, helpless woman. This was the job, however. Perhaps he could convince himself she was horribly evil and the world would be better without her.
It didn't matter.
He took a silent step forward, drawing his weapon, coated in a poison designed by Sakura for him specifically.
Then, beyond reason, she stirred.
Was there a trap he hadn't noticed? Some sort of signal he triggered to alarm her? He cursed himself inwardly, loathe to admit that if he'd been using his sharingan a simple alarm system would not have slipped his notice. No point in using it now, he figured. He swiftly moved out of her line of sight and froze. When she moved to sit up instead of returning to sleep, he cursed himself again.
"Matsu-san?" She whispered. Probably the attendant's name. Hopefully she doesn't expect an answer.
When no answer came, she pulled the sheets back and made to rise from the bed. Shit, just my luck.
Once she was standing he delayed no longer, stepping forward and slicing his nocuous blade through her back, directly through her lung.
A slick gasp escaped her lips as he withdrew his weapon from her flesh. Shock seemed to overtake her as she turned around to look at the face of her murderer.
He was not expecting to see recognition wash over her.
She fell forward and he was forced to catch her in his arms, silently lowering her to the tatami. She pressed a hand to her bleeding chest, then pulled it away to look down at the blood. She was confused by its presence, but moreso confused by his. She reached her bloody hand out and clutched tight around the fabric of his uwagi.
She suckered out a wet sort of wheeze as she tried to speak but the only thing that slipped from her mouth was a small flow of blood. He watched it drip down her chin and grabbed her by the wrist to try and pry her hand away from his chest. Her breathing was hastened, panicked, and stilted as her lungs began to fail her. She tried to speak again, her voice curdled and choking on blood.
"Shi–"
He hesitated and looked into her pleading eyes. She couldn't possibly know him, the idea was absurd. She must have been calling out to death itself.
She shakily rose her left hand, keeping the right still clenching onto him like he would be her last life line. He moved to stop her movement by grabbing that wrist as well. She still managed to form the seal for release, and the henge slipped away.
Long onyx tresses drew back into short, pink hair. Charcoal eyes brightened into jade. A sharp purple diamond appeared on her forehead. Her nose and lips changed shape into something too familiar, something he wished he wasn't recognizing.
"No– What! Sakura–?!"
The panic was clear in his voice in a way he hadn't expected. He knew the poison she'd created for him was a strong paralytic and de-coa–something– crap! He should have paid closer attention. He could see and feel the poison taking effect as he scrambled to hold her trembling hand over her wound for her.
"Sakura, I'm so sorry– your jutsu, use your jutsu, please!" Shisui cried softly, keeping his voice low while in the dangerous setting they were still in.
Why was she here? He was reeling at the circumstances that allowed them to take jobs opposing each other without even realizing.
Her hand started to glow a dim mint green over her chest. He slipped his arm around her and tried to keep pressure to her back, where the wound started. The sudden movement caused her to cough slightly, and blood spluttered from her lips and onto his neck. He could feel the blood from her back pouring over his hands and he could do nothing to stop it.
He knew he had to stop the effects of the paralytic before it took hold completely and she ceased to be able to heal herself. He tried to remember the traits she listed of her quickest working poisons as they sat in her little home-made lab and she excitedly rambled on. Cursing her for designing poisons that were always too efficient, he released his grip on her left wrist and fumbled around his supplies for the antidote she'd provided for him. Panic started taking over when he couldn't seem to find it.
"Where is it, where is it, where– fuck!" he cursed, voice raising louder than it should, given where they were and what he'd come here to do. He glanced at the futon where the maid (who was likely not an actual maid, he realized belatedly. If Sakura had been a decoy, she was likely his true target) was still sleeping, his genjutsu still in place. Small mercies.
As gently as he could, he removed his hand from her back and laid her down on the soft woven floor. When her back hit the mat, she let out a painful squelching hiccup and her entire body convulsed once.
In an adrenaline powered panic, he ripped his supply pouch from his belt and poured the contents next to them onto the ground. The blood was creeping further and further away from Sakura's body, saturating the tatami entirely as he hurried through his belongings. He couldn't help but keep looking to Sakura as he searched, eye flitting back and forth between her paling face and the pile of supplies. Her hair was completely damp with sweat, and the petal-pink was darkening to red where the back of her head met the floor. Her jade eyes were flickering open and shut as she tried her hardest to breathe and stay awake. She was watching him scramble about for the antidote, eyes wet with fear. He found the small capped syringe that held the antidote as he noticed the light fading from her eyes, followed by the light fading from her hands.
He ripped the cap off with his teeth, and jabbed the needle into her jugular vein, like she'd taught him.
Her body was stock-still.
He tossed the syringe aside and held both sides of her face, the blood on his hands smearing across her cheeks. He moved to rest his knees on the ground, but the horrible squish of wet tatami made him pull back. His eye widened as he realized just how much blood pooled below Sakura. He focused back on her face.
Hovering above her now, he leaned his forehead against hers. There was no more chakra emanating from her fingers. Every breath she took sounded like wading through a bloody swamp. He cursed. He did this.
"Sakura, please."
She had no answer.
"I'm sorry."
She'd lost too much blood.
"I love you."
She was gone.
Shisui removed his hands from Sakura's face. He reached for a single shuriken where it lay scattered amongst his belongings.
He threw it immediately into the temple of the girl sleeping on the nearby futon. Killing her before she could make a sound.
He dispelled any genjutsu he'd woven on his way into this accursed place.
He reached down to scoop Sakura's limp body into his arms. He stood and brought her to the bed, placing her softly on the silk sheets, uncaring that the blood would never leave them. He crawled into the bed behind her, leaning against the ornate headboard, and pulled her back into him. He cradled her close as she turned cold, not caring that the bedframe dug into his back uncomfortably. He didn't deserve comfort.
He settled in with her back to his chest, aware that the blood from her wound was no longer gushing out of her, but spilling mildly onto him. Burning him despite its weak temperature. He wrapped one of his arms low around her waist and held her tight. Then brought his other hand up and tangled it into her bloodstained hair, pressing their faces together. He cried.
And he waited for them to find him.
